Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough amazing things about this animal hospital. They were able to get my cat in within an hour of me calling, which meant everything during such a stressful moment. From the very first phone call to walking through the door, the experience was incredible. We were greeted by Sara Ann, literally the sweetest girl ever. She was so kind, calm, and reassuring, and truly made us feel welcome and cared for. The doctors were extremely knowledgeable and treated Jax with such gentle, attentive care. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. I’m so happy to report that my baby is back to eating and seems to be back to his old self! I’m beyond grateful and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing compassionate, quality care for their pets.

Experiencia fantástica: THESE PEOPLE ARE THE BEST! I took my cat Bats, a 10 week old stray who was born in my backyard and was sick as hell, and East Ridge had him back to full health in no time. You can tell they actually care about animals & aren’t one of these straight for profit places that are run like a Bel Air plastic surgery clinic you see everywhere these days. None of this “drop off only” crap, and they perform up to date & alternative treatments and give you the choice with very competitive prices. I’m only taking my best friend to these people for whatever he needs.

Experiencia fantástica: Had to make a last minute appointment, but the woman at reception was able to get me in same day and within the hour! Super friendly and helpful staff all around! I was expecting a hefty bill, but it was actually quite reasonable. I will be coming back with my other boys as well and hopefully making this my regular vet for as long as I live in the Chattanooga/North Georgia area.

Everyone—front desk, techs, and vets—has been so kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Dr. Durden has taken amazing care of him, and every doctor we’ve seen has been thorough and compassionate. You can really tell they love the animals they treat. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Experiencia fantástica: Bo is a very nervous and anxious little thing. She has always had a horrific seizure every time we went into our former vet’s office. It was terrible to watch. A good friend raved about how wonderful y’all are, and since Bo’s latest problems I thought I’d give it a try. She’s been there twice and although still nervous, no seizures and she actually interacts with the staff. This is amazing. I’m bringing in my other doxie today to get him started there. He has absolutely no anxiety but will lick y’all to death
Experiencia fantástica: Over many years now I've used East Ridge animal hospital. It's a gut wrenching experience losing something you love with all your heart. 3 so far over the past 20yrs or so. I have all 3 in their little wooden boxes as they will be scattered with me when I cross the rainbow bridge and pick them up on the way to heaven. Buck Princess and Chancey, I know Chancey found Buck and Princess and she's protecting them and their just playing and playing waiting on Daddy. They probably don't know about Dyna cause she's here with me, a 5yr old rescue now 7 or so. After losing Chancey to mouth cancer. I can say I totally believe it was from the high dollar treats, who knows what chemicals are in there. I learned a lot about dog food and treats. And most importantly Regular Vet care. Dyna was heartworm positive when I adopted her at 5yrs old. She's not as hasn't been since thanks to the find people at East Ridge animal hospital and Doctor Narr. I feed Dyna no treats processed and put in bag at a high $$$ cost. I buy high grade dog food, canned blue, and the little tubs of beniful, and dry blue. I add sweet potato, a little apple, broccoli raw chopped stalks, just a little. Blueberries fresh a small amount 7. And pre and probiotics mixed in her food. She's now 7 going on 8 and I take her to no where else but East Ridge animal hospital. She's the most loving baby girl.. to me.. and the most protective baby I've ever had. She sleeps with me and licks the back of my head like I'm her puppy. At nearly 80lbs she has no fear of anyone or anything but her daddy keeps her straight and away from others and other animals. The staff at Dr Knarrs know how she is and I let them know up front if it's someone who hasn't experienced Dyna, LoL. At 66yrs myself she keeps me in a bit of shape, she all muscle, hard to handle at times but I manage. At home she's my baby girl and I'm her puppy human. With East Ridge animal hospital I hope WE have many more years together..

A little thrown off that I asked how much it would be to do my dogs urinalysis on top of his blood work and they just did the urinalysis without verifying. At the exam appt, I was made to believe the blood panel included heartworm tests. Looks like my dog will be failed the same way I've been. Hopefully God allows me to find a decent vet for him.

She experienced a bit of a medical emergency and even though she had never been seen as a patient here, they had no problem with me bringing her in so they could take a look at her. I’m beyond appreciative and thankful for the kindness and the exceptional care we received and for them helping get my girl on the right road to feeling better. Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat in to be checked out for a cough and to get his nails trimmed. The office staff were kind & patient about him crying in the lobby because he was nervous. When it was time for him to see the doctor he didn't want to get out of his carrier, but the doctor was gentle and handled him very well. The nurse & doctor were very gentle when giving him his shot for allergies and they were talking very sweet to him when treating him! We will keep coming back!
Experiencia fantástica: East Ridge Animal Hospital has taking care of my two dogs and a cat for about 8 years now. Dr. Drew Smith is so very kind and thorough. As are all of the Vets there! The entire staff couldn’t be more devoted and loving to animals (even us human ones). What I like most is the confidence & professionalism their Vets display by referring to other animal care practitioners, when there’s something they believe can be done more efficiently due to technology or a resource they don’t have. At East Ridge Animal Hospital there’s no issue too small or big concerning pets, that they unwilling to help with. I love, trust and truly appreciate every single person there, with my beloved pets.

Nola is a large dog with allergies and she took it upon herself to try to find out which medication would be would be easiest and economical effective treatment path to get her, of course she did it with the vet help, and call me days after being in the office for this issue. I am extremely grateful and thankful to Angel for doing this for me. Truly a blessing Angel is to my family and pets.

When my dog ate a sock and needed emergency surgery, they took immediate action and made sure he was in good hands every step of the way. Dr. Thomas was incredibly caring and thorough, explaining everything clearly and providing reassurance during a very stressful time. The staff was also outstanding—Sherri in particular was so sweet and attentive, making both me and my dog feel comfortable throughout the process. It’s clear they genuinely care about their patients, and I’m so grateful for their expertise and compassion. I’m beyond thankful for the wonderful care my dog Rudy received, and I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring veterinary team!
Experiencia negativa: Very upsetting visit. My dog had a really bad reaction, face swollen, eyes puffy. I called asking if there was a wait and it was an emergency. We get there and without hesitation the vet says that my pup had eaten a bee. Cool. No exam, no blood drawn, nothing. Took one look at him and said that this was common this time of year. My dog gets 2 shots and we're in and out under 20 minutes. We go to the front desk and the lady tells me I have to pay a 72$ exam fee I'm sorry??? They didn't do an exam and after the 2 shots my bill is now $173!? Why should I have been charged $72 for something he didn't even do? I'm a first time dog mom, I was scared something was really wrong with my pup so obviously I was worried and called it an emergency but I don't think charging extra for something you didn't do is necessary.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough positive things about how well we were treated here. The office staff is extremely kind and got us in very quickly on short notice. Dr. Durden and his tech Angel were nothing but kind to our sweet boy, even when we sadly had to make the decision put him to sleep.
Experiencia fantástica: Great veterinarian's office. I needed to bring my dog in for her annual checkup. I called on Wednesday and was able to get an appointment for Friday! Everyone was nice and friendly and hardly had to wait at all. If you are looking for a great animal hospital then you need to bring your fur babies here.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Thomas is my baby's pediatrician. She has taken care of my last service dog and now this one. Both being toy/teacup Chi's. And of course our other boy. We have recommended her to multiple people and family and all agree that she is the best and East Ridge animal hospital is the place to go. I drive 45 minutes to get there. I wouldn't go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my Gemma!! Thank you for everyone there loving my girl. She is well trained but we walk in and she has to bark until one of the ladies in the front look up and say "Hi Gemma" and Lord knows they do every time!! Lol
Experiencia positiva: Appointment kept on time. Straightforward service. Price was as expected. Treated me and my cat with kindness and efficiency.
Experiencia negativa: We adopted a dog from East Ridge Animal Shelter, which was a great experience. This vet has an agreement with the shelter. They offer a free wellness check and rabies shot. He had some itchy spots on his coat, needed a heart worm test and we did a fecal. The bill was $300+. Although this was a lot, that's not what upset me. This weekend we took in another stool sample because we thought he had worms. The woman at the counter was not very nice, suggested we wait until Monday to make an appt. (there was NO ONE in the waiting room). She acquiesced when I showed her I had been in just a few weeks prior and had done a fecal at that time. She said it would be $39. Long story short, no worms and my bill was $75!!! I wasn't going to write this but I just looked at my bill and she charged me for an injection visit which didn't even make sense because the dog never entered the facility.

I also work at a pet hospital so I truly value their input and care. They helped my baby boy throughout his life from coat/skin issues to anesthetic procedures. They took the time to really explain things. I'm very grateful to have been a client of yours. Thank you for taking care of my boy up until it was time to say goodbye. Your knowledge and treatment plans reassured me I was doing the most I could to give him the best life. If I ever adopt another spikey boy I would love to see you all again but hopefully my next lil guy won't be such a frequent patient hahaha. Also the receptionists here are very kind. I feel bad I don't know her name but the red haired lady was always so excited to see Chase so it made things a bit easier on me during stressful times :) These associates get back to doctor's messages in a timely manner as well! <3
Experiencia positiva: I went to this Vet after adopting a pet from the local Municipal Animal Shelter. The adoption fee included a rabies injection and exam but only at East Ridge Animal Hospital. A certificate was included w/adoption paperwork explaining everything. I called and made appt for the next day and wanted a FeLIV combo test as they don't test at the Shelter. They took down all my info over the phone. Upon arrival, there was one other customer, seated and 4 receptionist behind the counter. I wasn't greated by anyone and when I told the first person why I was there, I was told to "take a seat". Several minutes later I noticed the same woman I encountered, talking to one of her co-workers, who appeared to be tidying her work space, waving a clipboard in my direction. She said, "You need to fill this out" She never called me by name, made eye contact or even came out from behind the counter so I wasn't really sure she meant me. She kept talking, socially, with her co-worker and only after I didn't get up and take the clipboard, did she finally look at me with a somewhat annoyed expression. She then said, "I need you to fill this out" and then brought it to me. I asked what it was and she said my & my pet's info. I told her I'd given all of this over the phone when I called yesterday and made the appt. She said she knew that but they still needed it written down. It was a one page form with exactly the info they asked over the phone. Name, contact info, pets name, details. Since it was a new pet, I put down the new name. Not the one they'd given at the Shelter, which was on the printed adoption paperwork. So I guess it made sense to have me write everything down for them. I also gave her the paperwork from the Shelter, the ones that talk about the included Rabies & exam and told her again I wanted to add on a Combo test, which I'd pay for seperately. She made copies and returned my originals. Once in the room I was greeted by the Vet Tech. She was pleasant. I explained to her what we were there for today. She removed my new pet to do a blood draw for the test, results take 10 minutes & I asked that he be weighed. My cat and I waited in the exam room together. She returned with the test results, they were negative, thankfully, and the Veterinarian came in with her. He performed the exam, everything looked okay. He administered the rabies injection. He was pleasant and professional. I left the room and approached the counter in order to check-out but saw there was now a line. I'd guess four people were checking out and two people were waiting to go back. The same woman that I encountered was the only one helping any clients. I'm not sure why there were four receptionist behind the counter if only one of them can help clients. When it was finally my turn, my total was much higher than expected for just a combo test, $160 or $180 something. I asked what I was being charged for. She said the exam, rabies and combo test. I had to correct her and tell her that I'd adopted from the Shelter which includes the rabies and exam and remind her that she made copies of the paperwork. She seemed unsure until one of the other receptionist overheard us and told her how to handle the charges. They finally got it worked out and my total was $65.88 for the test. Which, IMO, is a bit on the high side, compared to the average in this area. Also, I don't know why I had to fill out that hard copy when on my receipt the cat's previous name was listed, not it's new one. I'm a fan of the old adage, "You never get a second chance to make a good first impression." My first impression of East Ridge Animal Hospital was not good. A smile & a greeting upon entering would go a long way towards improving things. Also, the interior looks chaotic, it appears to be years upon years of do-dads, signs and pictures that may have served a purpose at one time but now looking around gives one a headache. Medical Centers should be calming. They'd do well to toss about 3/4 of the "stuff", concentrate on a coordinated color scheme and teach the staff how to smile.

Experiencia negativa: I am extremely disappointed with the care my cat received at this veterinary clinic. My cat was mistakenly brought in as a stray, and someone requested vaccines and a spay procedure for her. Shockingly, the clinic did not check for a microchip before proceeding, even though she already had a visible scar. They performed an unnecessary surgery, opening her up only to discover she had already been spayed. Despite this oversight, they went on to administer vaccines and stitched her up without notifying me of the mistake. This lack of diligence caused my cat undue stress and discomfort, not to mention the unnecessary costs. Checking for a microchip is a basic, standard procedure that would have prevented this entire situation. It’s deeply disappointing that such a fundamental step was overlooked, and I was left to cover the expenses for a procedure that should never have happened in the first place. I hope this serves as a reminder to the clinic to prioritize proper protocol and ensure other pets and owners do not experience similar issues in the future.

She been very proactive, conservative and willing to suggest alternative products to assist with issues. She is a Gem and we are so grateful to have found this wonderful doctor! The Dr and staff at East Ridge Animal hospital were able to fit her into their schedule even tho she is not a patient. The Dr and staff were all helpful and knowledgeable. Experiencia fantástica: A month ago, I took my 19 year old cat in because she was having some back pain. She was then diagnosed with kidney failure. Unfortunately she started to progress further along, and it is now her time to cross the rainbow bridge. In this month, I saw Dr. Durden a total of 3 times. Even though I didn’t spend long at this establishment, I can truly tell that Dr. Durden is a caring and compassionate doctor. I am very happy I decided to bring Margot here. We both did all we could for her.
Experiencia negativa: Like most clinics, their way of doctoring is mainly topical, visual, and medicine care! No internal care, such as Labs to see why there are skin diseases and allergies, to determine the cause and give solutions. So it's pretty much a waste of time going to vets accept getting their yearly vaccinations. Also the prices you have to pay is ASTRONOMICAL!!!

Experiencia negativa: I took my kitten there for a checkup because we had just adopted him from a shelter, I was concerned because he just had surgery and was acting lethargic still. They looked for a second and ran a test that came back negative and sent us home with just a dewormer. I was still concerned with how he was acting so I took him to animal clinic east the next day and they diagnosed him with heart failure. That should have been caught in his first visit

Experiencia fantástica: Can’t speak highly enough of Dr.Robert Knarr and team. We have a dog that is reactive and scared of the vet. After visiting east ridge animal hospital we will only take our girl here. He made us feel comfortable and we were able to pick up our dog within the hour with all her shots and other procedures done. So grateful!!
Experiencia fantástica: We adopted a dog which was part of a hoarder's evil collection. She was super skinny, dehydrated, and terrified of everyone . We took her to ERAH, and with Dr. Knarr's and staff's help, we were able to nurse her back to health. She is now, after 4 years, in good health, and thankfully, has a sweet demeanor to her. Many thanks to Dr. Knarr and company for assisting us in turning a broken, wasted dog into a loving and very healthy member of our family! I would recommend them to anyone who needed care for their pet.
Experiencia fantástica: Even though I got my appointment time very confused and showed up hours early, Caramel was seen in just a few minutes of waiting and we got the shots and care she needed. She is an outdoor cat and not so keen on vets visits so getting her in the cage was an ordeal and my daughter had rearranged her work schedule to come with me…at the wrong time, so it was huge that they were able to work my cat in so easily. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been using East Ridge Animal Hospital since 2010 or 2011. I’ve always found them to be kind and caring and they really love our animals as much as we do. They saw me through a very difficult situation with my little dog Maizy that I adored. She was diabetic and suffered several bouts of pancreatitis before she passed. When it came time for our lab to be sent over the rainbow bridge, Dr. Knarr and staff came to the house and kindly took care of her. I now have two other dogs and Punky is the problem child. He loves going to the vet because they give him so much love and attention. He is facing a difficult surgery and I trust that Dr. Knarr will do his best to fix Punky’s problems. I have recommended ERAH to several family and friends who also appreciate the good care they receive there. Thank you for the great care we receive every time we visit.

I actually have three veterinarians in my area that I use on a regular basis. They're always good about getting someone in quickly and I have complete faith in their staff. Always very nice and the veterinarians are very knowledgeable.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog there for the first time approximately two weeks ago. today I took my friend's White Dove to have his nails trimmed. all the people I spoke with both on the phone and in person have always been friendly and helpful. They make it easy on the animal even though you can't go in with your pet. They've all been very courteous and very quick. I will continue to use them in the future as my main veterinary service. One really nice thing about their location is you can buy beer right down the street! So March 2024 I decided to have my sugar glider neutered and I've actually used this place for about 30 years I don't know why it says 2 weeks ago at the top. They work on exotic pets I took my Rocket in today bed with a veterinarian and we agreed to bring him in tomorrow morning for the little surgery. I used to take my prairie dogs here years ago and even though this is the same exotic vet I have complete faith that he'll be good and he'll take good care of Rocket in the morning. And actually for the cost is very reasonable and I'm sure it's competitively priced with other exotic pet vets in the area.

Experiencia negativa: I've been going to this location around 15 years and my fiance almost 20. She is an animal lover and when she saw a farrel cat in medical distress she took it in to she if the cat could be saved. She told them if not could the please euthanize the cat. She also explained she didn't have a lot of money to put into this. They had to euthanize the cat. When she went to settle up they hit her with a very large bill for a cat that wasn't even hers. Apparently the lost their love of animals and replaced it with the love of money.
Experiencia negativa: This was yet another poor vet experience. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the vet tech was really sweet and helpful. My dog had a hematoma the size of a golf ball in his ear and Dr. Smith tried to convince me it wasn’t actually hurting him. It took a muzzle and 3 people to hold him down just to look at it. He put him on a steroid and pushed us out the door, saying it would go away in 2 weeks. He then never called me back when I expressed concern that the hematoma was not only going away, but getting bigger a MONTH later. He seemed to have no care or concern for my dog’s wellbeing or my fears-the opposite of what you want and expect from a professional who works with animals. I will never go back here.

From the receptionist to the vet they were amazing, explaining what all could be going on and being patient with all my questions. Apollo is back to his healthy energetic self! Experiencia fantástica: My normal vet is closed on Wednesday. I had a sick cat that needed prompt attention. Staff was great and so was the doctor. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Took great care of me and my cat. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: They have been so nice and awesome and are taking care of our kitty Hendrix so well. Only have had one appt so far and they were great in person and have been so easy and awesome to deal with on the phone. It doesn't feel like they are trying to overcharge or give unnecessary expenses and it feels like they truly genuinely care about the pets and I love that. I will keep going here for my kitty as long as I live in East Ridge.

Give this Dr. a try as you will not be disappointed!! She is so knowledgeable and you can feel the love she has for her patients, our babies.

Experiencia fantástica: We inherited an unwell dog who had heartworms. Dr. Ray was exceptional in her attention and concern for the dog and us. She remained present during some difficult conversations and maintained her professionalism. My youngest stepdaughter is a vet student, and I can only hope that she comes away from vet school with the same attributes as Dr. Ray.
Experiencia fantástica: My girls have never had better care than they get at East Ridge! We have been going there for almost 10 years now. It took me awhile after moving here to find them. I was totally unsatisfied with the other vets I tried in the area. They deal with our traveling circus without blinking and make sure everyone in the family gets care, including me! ALL of the staff are kind and compassionate. Dr. Karen is exceptional and very willing to work with the family and alternative medicine to do whatever is best for the animals. Without Dr. Karen and Dr. Rob, we might have lost our Ginger long ago. She has a tendency to come up with unusual health issues. Dr. Karen searches with me to discover the problem and the best solution and is open to the opinions of others to give my girl the best care in the world and save me a bunch of money. I don't worry until Dr. Karen does because she has a very calm and rational approach. I would give them ten stars if I could because they are always ready to help and work with us while giving us honest opinions no matter how difficult the situation. I never worry when I have to leave one of the girls there for some reason because I know they are not just crammed in a cage but are genuinely cared for until they can come home again. My Ginger has inoperable cancer. The medical treatments for it would cause her to suffer with no positive outcome. So Dr. Karen agreed to work with me while we try some alternative routes which seem to be working to keep her healthy and comfortable. It is so good to have a knowledgeable vet making sure I don't make a stupid decision because I have no one to turn to to get good information. They have never failed to give me the pros and cons of a course of treatment and to take precautions to try to prevent illness. My girls get excited and cannot wait to go to East Ridge to see everyone. They would go everyday if they could because this is not a source of pain and fear but a place of safety and friendship. I have never met a more compassionate group under one roof.
Experiencia positiva: Dr. Knarr is an amazing vet, and I will gladly continue to bring my animals directly to him when needed. However, should he not be available, I will be finding another vet. I'm still trying to comprehend the inconsistencies in the bills for my two animals that were put down by two different doctors. I'm not sure if it was because of how the appointment was set up or because Dr. Knarr was unavailable for the 2nd animal. Dr. Knarr made sure either he or one of the techs went over costs with everything. However when I went in for the 2nd euthanasia, no cost was mentioned when making the appointment, nor when I showed up for the appointment. I was not told a price until the service was over, and was unaware that there was a huge difference for the same procedure. The woman at the counter had attempted to clarify things but to no avail. As long as Dr. Knarr is available I'll always be back with my pets, but he is the only vet at ERAH I will bring my pets to.

After his appointment I got set up with a super nice and easy to use app where I can request appointments and set reminders for myself.
