Experiencia fantástica: First visit for Truman, the almost 6 yr old Bernese Mountain Dog. A wellness checkup and update on vaccines. Easy sign up on line, easy completion of health history on line, the vet tech, then the vet (Dr Sliwa), were both great - Truman loved the gentle attention he got from them. I appreciated Dr Sliwa’s explanations about various health issues, and of the options for treatment. Based on this first visit, I would recommend 5 Points to any person with a beloved pet who needs a vet!

Experiencia fantástica: Being new to Nashville, I wasn't sure where to start into a relationship with a practice, as my previous vet and vet staff where my team for 20 years. There wasn't any pressing urgencies, other than obtaining flea/tick as well as heartworm medicine for my girl. I felt we were welcomed and more importantly, my girl at ease with everyone, catered to. I would have only good reviews for the company as a whole and again after only one visit, feel strong enough to not only leave a glowing review but would certainly recommend them to a friend. On a side note, my lights had been left on in my car and I needed a jump as they were closing for the day. One of the staff with a "heart of gold" not only provided that service but again, more importantly, allowed Geraldine to sit in her air-conditioned car while we jumped my own automobile. There are good/great people out there and it feels amazing to know that you can find them at the place you and yours rely on.

The vet and tech were equally as friendly and knowledgeable regarding his general well-being. I'm especially surprised and grateful that the tech was able to trim Samson's nails without a sedative or any drama-trauma. Amazing!

Experiencia negativa: This place provides reasonable care and slightly above market prices. The staff is friendly but the doctors rotate frequently through here so continuity is limited. Also if you have a ‘problem’ pet who doesn’t like medical procedures or care they are not equipped to handle this and techs will refuse to draw blood or give shots.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently switched to 5 Points with my senior cat, who sadly was only able to make 2 trips there. The entire team was incredibly compassionate and accommodating throughout the entire process, then sent a sympathy card full of heartfelt messages from at least 6 staff members. One even mentioned him being with my other kitty now, which I only mentioned once in the exam room at our initial visit. This was so meaningful to me, and I have since brought my dog there for care as well. I've now met 2 different veterinarians there, and as a former veterinary practice manager, I can honestly say I've found the place I'll always bring my pets.

Experiencia negativa: I left this vet years ago and I returned due to their proximity and regretted it immediately. I will continue to take my pets 30 minute out of the way rather than return here again. The first time they misdiagnosed and over prescribed. This time they failed to deliver on agreed upon procedure stating it ‘medically unnecessary’, though I fail to see how shaving my cats face could count as a medical procedure when’s it’s a service offered by groomers. Conned out of $250, honestly surprise it wasn’t more.

The first visit is free just to have your pet checked out. They were so kind, knowledgeable, and safe. They walked us through every step and answered every question. They even provided recommendations and next steps. Everyone I have talked to about this place has nothing but positive things to say. 10/10 experience!

Experiencia fantástica: Our cat had recently been in a pet ER overnight due to vomiting blood and was sent home with a diagnosis of an ulcer. We scheduled a followup visit with Five Points a week later to make sure her recovery is going well. Dr. Nealon was great. She answered all our questions thoroughly, and it never felt like she was rushing through our appointment, even though it was late on a Friday. I am so happy we have found a new vet for our cat.

Experiencia negativa: It has taken me a year to come around to writing this review. Our precious elderly cat managed to get out of the house while we were moving and was run over by a car. We had chosen this clinic because it was within a five-minute walk from our house. As he lay suffering, surely, I thought—this neighborhood vet would be willing to help in a pinch. After waiting on hold while our baby of more than a decade suffered in our arms, the receptionist returned to tell us the schedule was tight and there was an urgent care across town. Due to the time of day and the nature of living in downtown Nashville, our cat lay suffering in my husband's lap unnecessarily through the painful commute. With all due respect to the demands of running a clinic (a dear friend runs a top vet clinic in another state) and the clients who were scheduled that day—under these circumstances, I simply cannot imagine a pet owner who would not be in favor of serving my best friend as he took his last breaths. Our family will remember those final moments as some of the most painful we will ever endure. A decent vet takes care of routine visits and maintains their schedule; an excellent vet goes beyond the call of duty to respond to a client in crisis (especially one that occurs within normal business hours).

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Colclough and their Veterinary Technician, Sophie today who were both very knowledgeable and thorough with our elderly kitty, Roo's, complex case. They really took time to review Roo's health history. Having a cat with many borderline health issues and many allergies and unexplained reactions, it is hard to get answers or many solutions. The team at 5 Points has helped to navigate a myriad of issues that have come up for Roo and our other cat in the past year we have seen them, and create many nuanced solutions to their health issues. It is great to feel heard and checked on, as you can tell that they care about animals, as pet owners themselves. Go here, and especially see these 2, if you can! I called them the Dream Team as I left the office today, and I am very thankful for all the new recommendations to try out for continuing elderly care for my fur baby!

Experiencia negativa: We brought in a tiny kitten that we had found and don’t intent on keeping, but just wanted advice on how to keep it alive until a foster program responded to us. We were charged $80 just for verbal advice, nothing else. Had my vet been open I definitely would’ve gone to him (Mt. Juliet Animal Clinic). He has never charged for a visit just for giving advice. Everyone was nice— just seems like they’re more into making money than saving a tiny animal.

Experiencia fantástica: Kind people working for the animals here at 5 Points Animal Hospital. The vets and techs and receptionists are knowledgeable and hard-working people. There are multiple vets which makes it easy to schedule, even with some of my little emergencies or short-notice requests. Pricing is the higher-side of average in comparison to other vets in area, and I've been to most, I'd probably call it $$$$ on a $$$$$ scale. You can count on getting detailed and succinct estimates first. The quality of care coupled with their convenient location & easy parking makes it the best value for both time and money spent. Oh. And my animals... they dig them, too!

Experiencia negativa: We are new to Nashville and have two older dogs (18 &11). We took our oldest in November '24 for her initial visit as she requires continued bloodwork. She since has gone back for a sick visit in January (for an eye issue), bloodwork in February, and in March was due for 3 vaccines. When I made the appt, I made it with a tech instead of a Dr. The office called and told me I needed to make an appt with the Dr but I questioned as we were just there for bloodwork and she had an exam in November. The receptionist double checked and got back to me saying no need to change the appt. I show up to the appt and the tech comes out to grab my dog (totally silent) and I see the Dr down the hall and I wave. The Dr comes to the lobby where I was waiting and we start talking. She asks about my dog and she even tells me about her Mom's dog. I hear my dog crying from the back which concerned me because she's usually really good with shots. The Dr. becomes concerned and goes to check on her. As she's walking away, I tell her I need a refill of a medication she's currently taking. My dog appears from the back and I wait in the lobby with her for the medicine before checking out. The receptionist starts to check me out and I tell her I am waiting on medicine; she goes to the back to check. The original (silent) vet tech comes out and starts to get combative with me. Telling me that the Dr did this as a favor to me. That a Dr had to be present for vaccines and that I haven't paid an exam fee since November - even listing out my appts. I was shocked. I thought the Dr was coming out to chat because I waved not because she had to be present (even though she wasn't there for the vaccines anyway)! If the receptionist told me a doctor had to be present I would have gladly made the exam! Also, if there was a problem, why wasn't I pulled into a room to discuss not in the lobby? The conversation ended with my dog not going home with her medicine that day and me apologizing to everyone who heard what happened as if it were my fault. Needless to say, I've pulled both my dogs from this vet and will never go back. After realizing they just want money and aren't a veterinary group of the community. My elderly dog who still acts puppy-like and is healthy was treated as though she's about to pass using words like "keep her comfortable" and not trying every possible route when as the owner I am willing to explore. And also I will ever know what happened in that room with the silent turned combative vet tech. Friends of ours just moved to town and I told them not to take their dogs here. And a friend who just got a dog, will also not be going here. Just BEWARE of this group!

So thankful for her and the staff for fixing my English bulldog’s ear infection that was so bad I was told by multiple vets that he would have to get surgery. After about a year of going to specialists and many other vets for his stenotic ear, I had lost hope honestly, but tried one last time and came to Dr.Culclough. After just the first visit she had given me hope again, and for the first time in a YEAR now, I can finally see down into his ear and his ear infection is basically to zero. So thankful!!!!!

They never keep me waiting and all of the staff is extremely friendly. It definitely isn’t a low cost vet, but in my opinion it is worth it. The vets are always willing to talk about concerns and care options, and the techs are always excited to see how much our kitten has grown. Seriously, it was the most thorough exam my cat has ever had,...plus the first one where she remained calm, and relaxed. (I credit the staff with that!) Unbelievable! Dr. Janet was amazing and the support staff was wonderful. My cat is young and healthy, and I appreciate that they honored my wishes to forgoe the "routine blood work". The workup incuded the exam and nail & matte trim, and 3 yr shots (my choice). I am super pleased with the clinic (clean & updated) and the staff, as well as the superb care. I definitely made the right choice!! I am HIghly recommending this clinic!!

Due to the diligence and expertise of Dr Windham, Kimi is off (unnecessary) meds for the first time in 6 years. Dr Windham really invested in Kimi’s case and found better solutions. Dr Windham is thorough and communicates effectively with laypeople. The staff is friendly and helpful. We appreciate the efficiency of the practice.

Experiencia fantástica: I took in 4 baby kittens to 5 Points that my friends saved from a flooded area. We had no idea how old they were or if they would make it. Unbeknownst to me, they were just over 3 weeks old w/no mother in sight. I have never had such an amazing experience with any vet clinic in all my years. They handled these babies (found they were barely 5 weeks old when I took them in) with such care and attention. They took bloodwork, temperatures, gave deworming meds and a thorough checkup. Not only that, but they texted to see how each one was doing AND the Dr herself called me to check on them and is giving me something extra to boost their health. I could not be more grateful or impressed with their genuine care for these animals. Highly recommend this team of experts for their love and care!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve had a several vets in my lifetime with moving around various sates. This is by far the most expensive, the least customer service friendly, and outdated systems. They will nickel and dime you. I will not be going back. It’s literally cheaper, significantly more friendly, and you won’t have to wait days for your dog to get the medication they need to go to the local urgent care on Gallatin than Five Points.

Upon my arrival, I couldn’t find the place so I called and spoke with (I believe) Andrew, who not only gave me simple directions but also came outside to ensure I wouldn’t miss it. (One tip I would give to the staff is to give the advice Andrew gave me on that call to all first time customers ) I was immediately taken back into a room, no wait time at all, and someone came in ( he was SO NICE and I completely forgot his name - I’m so sorry, sir! You were great!!) and very kindly asked me questions about what was going on and got down on the floor with my dog and everything. Just absolutely the sweetest treatment I could have asked for. He left and I met Dr. Windham (which I only remember because I’m looking at it on my invoice, so hopefully I’m not crediting the wrong person!) who was equally kind and patient. What could have potentially been a costly issue (in other words: they could have said she needed testing or something that she didn’t need) was so simple (and only $100) and I was out the door in less than an hour. I was given detailed instructions on what to look for and how to proceed if those things came up. Every pet parent knows the struggle of not being able to help when your fur baby is struggling - I am SO happy I found 5 Points in that moment today!

Experiencia positiva: Care seems fine, and the folks are nice. However, I do feel that they could be more transparent during the appointment about when they are performing services that will cost extra. My cat’s annual turned out to be $500, and I was not warned that the blood pressure reading etc would add up to that amount.

Experiencia fantástica: My 5 month old kitten feels safe in the care of the staff. The doctors are knowledgeable and professional. Zippy and I have visited 3 times in the last three months as he was stray I took in. We are conquering a bought of worms he got from birth. We have a good game plan and will have my Zippers well soon. Thank goodness. I won’t take him anywhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: Our two dogs aren’t getting along anymore. One attacked the other and we fortunately could break it up. Though she only had a lacerated ear, it wouldn’t stop bleeding even after pressure all night long. I reached out by text the night it happened and by 7:30 they had me scheduled for 8am that day. She saw a new doctor at 5 Points this time but still was calmer than she’s ever been. Our vet tech was also amazing.

Experiencia negativa: I had an appointment at 10. No one even came into the room until 10:30, then the doctor was another 20 minutes after that. Dr Reed was kind and informative and helpful, but this was the first time we've ever seen her, and I bet we won't see her again. I have never once seen the same doctor twice. I understand if the practice is run this way to allow for more flexibility in scheduling appointments, but if that is the case, then I would expect the notes to be much more thorough and clear than they are. Doctors are usually asking ME clarifying questions about care that my dog has received in the past, and they are never sure about what has already been done. Although Dr Reed was great, overall my experience with Five Points Animal Hospital has been sub-par.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my cat Conway Kitty to Five Points for a decade! They always fit him in if he's sick, and take the best care of us. I love them! IDK how they stack up against other places on budget but I like them enough to not look, if that tells you anything.

Experiencia negativa: I normally don’t review places but I feel that this one needs to be known so it doesn’t happen to others. I had good service with the vet up until 2021 with my cat Theodore. Theodore had bladder stones and I was dismissed and treated like an annoyance when I asked more questions about his bladder stones and UTI and told by the vet “well do you know what it’s like to have a uti” when he wasn’t getting better. His bladder ended up getting blocked therefore an emergency. When I called they said they didn’t have any vets to do the surgery and told me to go to blue pearl and honestly I felt completely dismissed even though they knew his prognosis. My service at blue pearl was great and they kept me aware every step of the way which is what I had hoped 5 points would be like. Blue pearl said that I could transfer Theodore to 5 points for overnights for a cheaper rate. I found out 5 points does not do overnights which is fine but also didn’t get a friendly response when I called to ask about this. Fast forward to last month October 2023. I transferred vets to a vet closer to home and asked for my records. On my record for Theodore it said that there was a 95% chance that he would get kidney disease in 24 months and this record was back in 2021. The risk of kidney disease never communicated with me at any of my appointments or any phone calls. I even visited the vet less than a year later and it was never brought up. I’m severely saddened to say we lost Theodore last month due to kidney failure and have been struggling with it since. I could’ve had more time with him if 5 points had told me back when we got the blood results. I expected to receive good care when I took my cats here but it seems like they don’t care and only care about charging you. Not all vets were bad but I never got the same one when I went. I was happy with Dr Josh Good but that’s the only one I can recall. I now take my cats to Mobley and recommend to anyone reading this review who is unhappy with 5 points.

We've had some horrible experiences in the past at other vets, so this was amazing! Five points animal hospital will be our #1 choice every time!

Experiencia fantástica: I have two dogs who are patients of Five Points Animal Hospital. The entire staff is very friendly and help my dogs be comfortable at their visits I have seen most of the vets here and have been happy with all. However, I am extremely happy with our regular vet, Dr. Windham. Her knowledge, communication and follow up texts are quick and helpful. We recently had a vet emergency with one of our dogs and 5 Points was quick to follow up to see if our Emmy Lou was OK and that I was OK. Highly recommend Five Point Vets.

Experiencia fantástica: My annual exam for my 10yr old puppy was a much more informative experience than expected. I had a bad experience last year but hey, you need a new 6-pak of heartworm/flea/tick chews, so you just go and grit your teeth hoping it will be fast... I specifically requested one of the female vets and she was great. She spent a lot of time with me, asking and answering questions about Oscar’s physical and behavioral/psychological health. In fact, I was mad at myself as I should have prepared for this once a year opportunity and brought with me the Glucosamine chewies I’ve been giving him, for example, so I could had benefitted from her opinion on the ingredient blend. I expected “wam bam thank you ma’am,” and that was my mistake. So this clinic has earned my respect again. My first visit two years ago was solid as well. It’s also VERY easy to choose your vet and make an appointment online.

Experiencia fantástica: We have taken our animals here for years and two of them are special needs (diabetic and cushings). 5 Points Animal Hospital discovered both of these diseases in our animals and continue to provide us with excellent level care at each visit. The prices are reasonable and not as expensive as they used to be, which is great for us with many animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent a lot of time doing researching when I was picking a vet for my (new to me) puppy, and I'm so glad I ended up picking 5 points! It was easy to schedule the appointment online, and making a profile for my dog with information about him and why I was scheduling the appointment. My dog came into my care after being abandoned, so as a first time and unexected dog owner I was pretty nervous! The vet tech that came in first to go over history with me was very kind, and answered any questions that I had that she could. She then let the vet know my concerns for anything she couldn't answer. They were able to give me recommendations for everything I asked, and I REALLY liked that it didn't feel like they were trying to "sell" me anything. They let me know my options, and didn't put pressure on things that are optional (flu shot) one way or another. So excited it was such an easy transition with a new vet and a new dog, and I feel good about going back to them if any issues arise.

I call when I get into the parking lot to see if there’s any dogs or if there’s a room they can get me and my senior scaredy cat in right away. Dr. Windham was kind and gentle with my kitty. She patiently answered my questions and thoroughly explained anything I needed to know. We got test results back quickly and she said she was available to answer any additional questions or concerns we might have.
