From our very first visit, the care, compassion, and professionalism have been absolutely outstanding. My Ruby, a four-year-old golden retriever, injured both of her knees, and the way this team has supported her through everything has meant the world to me. From her preventative exams to her surgery care and recovery, they have gone above and beyond every step of the way. The front office staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Every interaction has been positive, and they make you feel like you and your pet genuinely matter. Dr. Gibney has been Ruby’s primary vet throughout this process, and she has been absolutely wonderful. She is compassionate, attentive, and always takes the time to explain everything, which has made such a stressful situation so much easier. I trust Dr. Gibney completely, and I’m so grateful for the care she’s provided. I’ve been to many vets over the years because I move around often, and I can confidently say that the service, care, and pricing here are unmatched. I am beyond grateful we found Richland Animal Clinic, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet. Thank you for taking such amazing care of Ruby!

They went beyond just being clinically professional — they were genuinely kind, patient, and understanding throughout the entire visit. Even with our dog being scratchy and volatile, everyone remained calm, reassuring, and supportive. As an owner, that made a huge difference. I never felt judged or rushed; instead, I felt like they truly understood the situation and cared about both my dog’s well-being and my comfort as an owner. Dr. Thomas took the time to talk through a thoughtful plan to help Winnie feel more comfortable in the office going forward, which I really appreciated. It was clear this wasn’t just about getting through the appointment, but about building a better experience for future visits. I NEVER leave reviews unless a place really stands out. And stand out they did, with pure awesome. Had to bring my dog in the day after Christmas as an emergency new patient. I live almost an hour from them and my own vet is closed until after the new year. Not opening back up until Jan 5th! The day after Christmas ALL the vets around me were closed. I called every one of them before looking towards Nashville for help. I'd had good experiences with Richland prior, as they were my vet originally when I lived in Nashville 30 years ago. That's why I chose them for my post-Christmas emergency. They got me right in that day. Even though its an hour drive for me, I'm switching back to them now I'm so happy with my experience. They were there for me when my own (now former) vet wasn't for this ordeal. Absolutely 100% recommend. Without question.

A whole family that will love your pets as much as you do, from front desk to those in charge. I have a dog with severe allergies, Dr. Chelsvig has helped her so well, Peaches (my dog) has new found sass. I have another dog, Buttercup, that has guarding tendencies, and they accommodate to that EVERYTIME. They are constantly patient with not just my dogs, but when listening to me when I voice my concerns. Now, on to the gut wrenching part we know will happen: the day you may have to come in and cry it out. This is the part I never read in reviews, because NOBODY talks about it. I will. Recently we had a bone cancer diagnosis in the fur family. Not only did Dr. Chelsvig do everything to hope with us that it was not that, but when she did have to let us know, I never felt rushed to make a decision; I constantly had reassurance through the process EVERY. STEP. When bringing in our beloved Baroness, we could feel each person know that feeling, making it not seem so alone. When I say the team at Richland has been the KINDEST team I've had, I have vet hopped just to find where I feel comfortable as an owner, they are just that, top of the list. We were greeted with treats for Baroness and a comforting large room, we were walked through every step, even until we walked out that door, we had the BEST people in the room with us. During such a gut wrenching moment, you want people who care as much as you do. Richland did that. As for the very last part of this review, I also want to state: I have also had an injury happen where I was right outside. When I came in with my own said injury, the clinic took it seriously and got the doctor right away. I felt safer there than I did in the ER after. So take that as what you will, but not only are my pets in great hands, but as a human being, this team is one that will not let you down. Literally proving if you can trust them with your own emergency, you can trust them with your pet emergency too. When we arrived she orchestrated several staff members to run outside to our car to help carry our very sick dog inside -although we ultimately had to put “Sockie “ to sleep today - we are also thankful to Dr Shannon Chelsvig and her team of technicians who were extremely helpful & compassionate through out this whole process . Sockie was a ‘rescue’ service dog for my sister with special needs - Sockie adored my sister and vice versa - So thankful for her peaceful transition facilitated by the caring staff at Richmond Animal Clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: Richland took care of my cat, O'Malley, during what turned out to be the last two months of his life. We originally went in to establish a relationship for a dental, which Dr. Thomas did an excellent job on. Unfortunately, it turned out that the symptoms that led to me getting him a dental were actually symptoms of a congenital illness that had gone undetected until it flared up really badly. We tried a lot of different things before it became clear that O'Malley was just really sick. Once it became clear that O'Malley was sick in a big way, the whole team (and I'm being literal, I'm pretty sure everyone on staff, vet or otherwise, cared for him at one point or another) stepped in to care for him—they did so much research, called colleagues in specialty fields, spent extra time they didn't have with him, etc. They really went to bat for him and they treated us both with such empathy and care. O'Malley never really bounced back, and the whole team supported me when I had to bring him in for his last visit. Dr. Chelsvig and Kat cried with me and comforted me that we had tried everything short of a miracle, and that I was making this choice for him out of love and kindness and respect for his life, and it still hurts but it was all true. I'll always appreciate their honesty and compassion in those moments. So, yeah. I could not more highly recommend RCA. I know I'll be taking my animals there as long as I'm in Nashville.

I had just gotten a dog that contracted parvo, I had no idea what to do. The dog was throwing up everything and weak, I couldn’t find anyone that would help. That was the first place I went. The tech was so nonchalant and unhelpful, not even a suggestion of where to go bc the vet wasn’t there. It’s been a couple of years, I’m looking for a vet and this place popped up. My neighbor loves them. Idk

Experiencia fantástica: A week ago today, I brought in a feral cat that I had been taking care of for about two years. She became ill and I brought her in. It was not good news she was suffering. The best option was humane euthanasia. It was the first time I had physical contact with her and, it was good to hold her. I stayed with her during the whole process until the end and it was difficult. But the care and compassion that everyone showed was remarkable, everyone made me feel like she was my cat. Highly recommend if you are needing documentation to move with your fur-baby and not sure who you can trust. They did a fantastic job and were very thorough throughout the whole process! After the initial consult at another dentist in town, I was shocked by the price. I did some research and found Richland. After their initial consult they gave me a good faith estimate which was SIGNIFICANTLY more affordable than the previous establishment. I don’t believe my pups care was discounted in anyway. She came through the surgery with flying colors and even worked us in last minute. I would recommend Richland to anyone in the Nashville area.

Dr Knox takes the time to explain everything to us and takes her time with the pups and has great empathy dealing with us all. Dogs are happy when they come home from boarding and the staff take great care of them. Lucky we found Richland!

They are always so nice and have been so accommodating of his initial “vet fear” that he now goes running in so excited for his appointments. Experiencia fantástica: I have been bringing my cats and dogs to Richland Animal Clinic since the 1980s Every time I enter I ( and my pet) are greeted warmly and with genuine concern. I rarely have to wait longer than 15 minutes before my pet is initially evaluated. When the Vet enters, he/ she takes as long as I need in order to address my concerns. I recommended this clinic to a colleague at work who had just moved to Nashville and she was very pleased with the clinic also. My sister and mother have also used Richland Animal Clinic and love the care that is given. The Vets and the staff deliver consistently great care to our pets no matter if they are sick or well. I would highly recommend Richland Animal Clinic to anyone who needs an excellent veterinarian.

My corgi needed a spleenectomy and it was a very poor prognosis. I felt informed and empowered to make the best decision for my pup every step of the way. Experiencia fantástica: This is a very good vet clinic. I've taken my terrier mix here a few times over the last year and they're always friendly, prompt, and take good care of my dog. The other day I was there and wanted a different room and it was no problem. They also try to work with patients on the cost, if they can, and take their time answering my questions.

They're always able to calm my nerves as well as tell me what I do and don't need to do at this stage in her life. It's hard to choose where to take your pet with so many options in Nashville but I always recommend Richland. Here's a shout out to you guys for being so great!

Dr. Thomas was so thorough and genuinely cared about both of our dogs and their wellbeing. The tech that helped us (forgive me but I forgot her name and couldn't find her on the website, so sorry!) was also so amazing!! They were both so sweet, answered my millions of questions, and made sure our timid dogs were as comfortable as possible. Sunny and Dixie are so happy to have y'all :)

I need to stay with her during visits (we both do better this way) and they are extremely accommodating, understanding, and non judgmental about it. They even figured out a way to make this safely work for us during covid once. I’ve seen a few different vets here and they’re *all* FANTASTIC. Low intervention, don’t overreact and over medicate, yet still take your dogs health seriously. They gladly answer my questions and concerns with expertise and are so kind to my fearful pup. The techs and front staff are the absolute best - friendly, relaxed, gentle and clearly do this work because they all love animals. It makes such a difference when staff is happy to be at their workplace. Everyone just take such good care of your pup here - I’ve gotten last minute same day appointments, been able to text videos/photos when I wasn’t sure if something was serious, and always have gotten a call back quickly both from the doctor and the staff as needed. We are moving soon and I’m going to miss this practice probably more than anything! Knowing your pup has an amazing team to support them during lows and health scares (even if it’s just a weird looking bug bite!) is invaluable. If you are looking for a vet in Nashville, you won’t get better care anywhere else!

Experiencia fantástica: Detail oriented, effective communicator, determination and hard worker; these are just some of the qualities that I have found in Dr. Amy Mueller. I took my dog to Dr. Mueller in 2021 for gastrointestinal problems. At that time, he was having bouts of diarrhea, occasional vomiting and was constantly placed on antibiotics and bland diets to treat it. Dr. Mueller came up with a plan for us to follow. She indicated that it would be a long process and told me that she would touch base in a few days. Well, not only did she call the day she said she would, she called almost every day throughout the process. It was through those calls, hard work, dedication, determination, and of course, knowledge that she was able to solve this longtime problem and finally help my little boy. On Wednesday (4/12), I dropped my little boy off at RAC to be treated by Dr. Mueller. Worried and sick that he might lose his sight; Dr. Mueller told me everything I needed to know in order to alleviate my fears. Once again, Dr. Mueller left no stone unturned. He’s still recovering but I feel comfortable knowing that he is under the care of a doctor that I trust. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the staff. When I called Wednesday morning, Lauren gave me options. She told me I could drop him off and leave him and they would work him in or I could wait for an appointment. I chose to drop him off. The staff must have been really good to him because when the time came for me to pick him up, he didn’t want to leave! In any event, I’m truly thankful for Dr. Mueller and everyone at Richland Animal Clinic for the care and kindness that they have given/shown to Murphy and me.
