Experiencia fantástica: Only vet I'll let take care of my pets!!
Experiencia negativa: These people are terrible and shady, they sent me to court because I brought my pitbull in after it got hit by a car. They told me my bill was over 1000 dollars but I couldn't afford it so instead they kept my dog and sent me to court for animal cruelty! I will always hate these people for doing this. They went ahead and amputated my dog's leg and kept him instead of helping me with a payment plan. I will never take any animal here ever!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful staff. The doctors and all the staff here make themselves available via phone AND text. After my cat got attacked by my neighbor’s dog, I took her here and they kept her safe overnight. Once she came home, they kept checking in on me for weeks after to see how my cat was healing. Really means a lot they take the extra time to do that. UPDATE- I can’t say enough good things about the Animal House staff. Dr. Herd, Dr. Diana, the entire staff really- went above and beyond at every step of the way with my cat. After my cat got attacked by my neighbors dog, she developed a hernia that required surgery. Dr. Herd performed the surgery and we were able to bring my cat back home the same day! my cat required SIGNIFICANT repair, needing 4 layers of stitching to close up the hole the dog had caused. We let my cat out of the crate a week or two later and she was already ready to jump up on the couch to cuddle with us. She healed so well. They even shaved her for us before surgery so we didn’t have to stress over taking her to the groomer while she was healing. Truly am so grateful to everyone here and would highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Herd and her team cared for my senior husky with such care and compassion. Dr. Herd jumped in urgently to help us when she found out about Bella’s mass on her spleen to perform the splenectomy just a few days before Christmas. Everyone I worked with at the clinic was nothing short of friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Bella’s surgery went well and she has had absolutely no complications with her recovery. I’m so thankful for Dr. Herd and her team! They are doing amazing work for our community.

Experiencia fantástica: Great vet and lifesaver for us since we are from out of town. Iris at the front desk was very nice and helpful. They were able to do a urinalysis and diagnosis our Ellie with a UTI but also pointed out a tooth decay which we didn’t notice. Very grateful for the same day service for Ellie!

Experiencia fantástica: Update: I was able to get the medication mailed and for that I was truly grateful. I will definitely be resuming my pups services here! Second time bringing my pup here. The veterinarian herself is great, but 3 stars due to both times I’ve gone being shorted on meds and me having to call about it. I live 45 mins away with no traffic. Can only be mailed if I pay, even though it wasn’t my job to fill the prescription. It’s my job to make sure I get what I paid for though, I guess. Now have to make an inconvenient trip back.
Experiencia fantástica: Got my beautiful baby cat Simon fixed today through animal house vet clinic. I showed up at 8:50, checked in, and they got me in 30 minutes later, a quick and easy check in process. vet was very nice, and talked me through everything i would be charged for. It was quite affordable in my opinion, at $260 for a male neuter, microchip installation, 3 days of pain meds, and a check up. I ended up donating a little since it was so much cheaper than what my regular vet quoted me for. Simon was done a few hours later, so i picked him up. The second he got home, he was back to his regular self already! eating, cuddling, and walking around holding his favorite toys. He seems happy with his care, so therefore i am too. Front desk lady was kind as well. Good experience overall, and will be recommending to friends!

Experiencia fantástica: I just want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Catrina Herd and all of her staff at Animal House Veterinary Clinic. Without them, my sweet but feral adjacent Franklin wouldn't be alive today. About a month ago, I woke to Franklin having a urinary blockage. I rushed to the clinic where they were waiting on me, and they jumped into action. They were able to unblock him successfully, but his body did not cooperate. He blocked again over the weekend while we were back home. Luckily, I had taken him to the right clinic. In meeting Dr. Herd, we met a veterinarian that was not afraid to take on a surgery that most offices will not. Dr. Herd and her team were game to do it if I was. She performed the PU surgery on that Monday, and he came home on Wednesday. She and her staff were very patient with my "spicy" boy. He tortured that staff off and on for a week, but they did not miss a beat. We are 3 weeks post op as of tomorrow, and he is doing great! "Master Franklin" is now lovingly being called "Uretha Franklin." I cannot thank you amd your staff enough. I am forever grateful that you saved my baby.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my cat here early in the morning because she was severely ill, weak, and in urgent need of help. I only had $30 in my pocket and hoped they would understand the situation. Instead, I was given a $300 bill, which suddenly jumped to $738 without proper explanation. I was then sent to a charity that didn’t help at all. When I returned, they treated me like a list of options, not like a human being worried for his dying pet. Sadly, my cat passed away. I was left feeling helpless, unheard, and dismissed by people who are supposed to care for animals. I’m sharing this to let others know: if you’re looking for compassion or understanding during a crisis, this may not be the place you’ll find it. Very disappointed, and heartbroken.

Recently, we visited due to an ear infection and during our follow up appointment, they also took care of some hives/allergy concerns for us. I am really grateful for all of the wonderful care and recommendations we received during our visit to prevent recurring ear infections. I love that it is a walk-in clinic because getting same day appointments isn’t always possible elsewhere. I also appreciate that we have the option to wait in the car, my dog gets really excited and loud around other dogs, so being able to wait in the car and enter the room from outside is so amazing for us! I think people sadly expect big business veterinary care from this small business helping our community’s pets. Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful experience I had with Animal House Vet Clinic! I had just rescued a small stray female cat that needed urgent care as she had recently stopped eating and I feared was possibly pregnant. Due to my work hours and currently extremely tight budget I was stressed about where I could take her. So I did a Google search and came across Animal House. When I called to explain my situation the receptionist, Judy was so warm and friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions. I was amazed at the fact that I didn’t need an appointment and especially amazed at the extremely affordable prices! I took little Cleo in yesterday, which was just going to be an exam testing and treatment, but they were actually able to get her spayed as well which would save me an extra trip to the vet and her extra stress! We came to find out that little Cleo was only 6 1/2 months old weighing in at 7 pounds and was in mid stage pregnancy with 7 kittens! I was able to pick her up later in the afternoon without a long wait. But what was most especially important was the exceptional care they provided to Cleo! They armed me with her treatments and pain meds and full instructions on how to administer them. All for a fraction of the price that I would’ve paid at another vet clinic. They followed up by sending a message to me this morning checking in on Cleo. And I’m happy to report that she is healing wonderfully and in great spirits! I highly recommend Animal House to anyone who has a special pet in their life that they want to place in the best possible hands. The staff is passionate about what they do and their hearts are fully invested in the well-being of our fur babies! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Animal House doctors and staff and Cleo sends a big thank you as well!! ❣️

Experiencia fantástica: I took an unhoused friend of mine in with her dog Lucky. The staff saw us on short notice, were incredibly kind and knowledgeable AND helped us find options my friend could afford. The doctors and the techs here are lovely and they clearly care for the animals they see. Would definitely recommend this place!
Experiencia positiva: Quick update: their hours are incorrect on google. They open at 9am and not 8am. Incredibly impressed with this place! I found this vet clinic when my dog was sick and I couldn’t get him in to his vet for a full week. This vet is 100% walk-in and I’ve only had to wait about 30 minutes both times I’ve gone. Techs and vets are all wonderful— knowledgeable, informative, and kind. Also I love that they tell you the cost upfront and get your consent before doing any treatment. So far this vet has been much less expensive than the vet I usually go to. Would highly recommend and am now a loyal customer!

Experiencia fantástica: Most affordable walk in clinic for urgent but not emergency visits. They frequently help me when I have tame cats that show up at our colonies and have also helped me with my personal cats at home when we’ve had emergent issues and I can’t get into my regular vet asap.
Experiencia negativa: My fur baby passed away 5-25 after 2 days of leaving there. I paid 400.00 dollars and he still died! Worst care ever!!
Experiencia fantástica: I discovered Animal House 14 years ago when I adopted a tiny kitten named Tink. The rescue had partnered with Dr. Herd for their initial workups, and I was immediately impressed by her care and professionalism. Naturally, we continued bringing Tink to her for vaccines and checkups. A year later, we added Reacher to our family and brought him in as well. Now, with both cats at 13 and 14 years old, we've moved farther away, but Dr. Herd remains our most trusted vet. Over the years, we’ve had a few urgent situations, including a urinary blockage that was initially misdiagnosed by an ER vet as a GI issue. Dr. Herd helped us get clarity and the right care. Most recently, our local vet didn’t have access to ultrasound when we faced the likelihood of a serious diagnosis (cancer). ER was an option, but we didn’t feel it was the right path for our elderly cat. We needed someone we trusted to help us navigate palliative care with compassion and honesty. Dr. Herd was the first person I called—and as always, she was kind, informative, and incredibly fair. I only wish we lived closer so we could rely on her more regularly. It’s rare to find a veterinarian who truly combines deep medical knowledge with such sincere empathy. Thank you, Dr. Herd, for everything you’ve done for our furry family.
Experiencia positiva: I checked in at 9:33am and entered the facility. Immediately it smelled and I became uneasy. Staff walked through and did not greet me or the others in the waiting room. I looked around and it did not look like a clean establishment. I sat for about 5 minutes while my red flag system went off. I got up and left to go to another, cleaner vet about 15 minutes away. While I was at the other vet I received a call at 10:40am saying they were finally ready for me. Glad I listened to my intuition and left. I don’t think I’d go back there.
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot praise this vet office and it's staff enough! For them to stay after hours and care for my injured dog, stabilize him and making him comfortable as well as reassuring me that he would be okay. You can truly see and feel the passion this doctor and her entire team have for caring for animals and their humans! The vet reached out to me personally and made sure I knew the risks,and the options of care for my 12yr old dog. Made sure to check thoroughly that he would be safe during his procedures. Feo is back and good as new, running and jumping like he didn't break a leg! So glad to have them during such a hard time! Special shout out to Yris, she also showed me great kindness!
Experiencia negativa: Really dirty facility. It was obvious they don't bother to clean exam rooms between patients. They also sedated my dog without my consent. I was told I would sign paperwork before administering drugs but that didn't happen. They didn’t ask if he had any allergies, they didn’t ask if he was on any medication. It's not worth saving a buck, take yourself to a reputable vet & pay regular prices. It's just a 15 minute drive to Mobley in East Nashville.
Experiencia negativa: Don’t bother! I called this morning and was told over the phone to go ahead and bring my dog in, that they were available anytime that day. I drove several miles on my only day off. I brought my dog in and they told me she could not be seen—that there was no vet available that day. Unbelievable—and very poor customer service!!

Because the excuse of why you didn't do the X-ray to my dog was because "you had an emergency with your son" and you had to leave the clinic, and even so you had sedated him all day, and it wasn't because you were taking care of other pets a day before they told me to take him to the next day because it would take 3 hours(I was calling the whole day asking for him and the person who is at the phone never has an answer because she work from home) to check his paw well since my dog was taking that's why we wanted an X-ray either, and we didn't take him for "an itchy ” at the last minute you said he had "allergy" without even do some tests( u just recommend us water and vinegar and told me that my dog was licking his paws when I know that is not true you only want to have an excuse)you just had him sedated all day without checking him or doing an X-ray to check out that he didn't have damage to his leg, and finally my dog IS NOT AGGRESSIVE AND HAS NEVER REACTED AGGRESSIVELY my dog is a(166lbs informed yourself first) giant breed that's why you have to sedate him and not for aggressive.... and obviously I won't take him back to your clinic!! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR MISTAKES AND DON'T RESPOND WITH LIES

I took my friend's dog, Ozzy, there for a check up, rabies shot as a walk in & was seen within about 1 1/2 which wasn't bad! Not uber expensive and DOES NOT add extra services on that you didn't ask for then, charge you outrageous prices! Thanks Animal House!
We absolutely hate to hear you had to wait 1 1/2 hours to be seen and we are working diligently to be as efficient as possible. We so appreciate your kindness and willingness to wait and are glad we meet your expectations. Fortunately, we are privately owned and it is of upmost importance that we never recommend unnecessary tests or treatments to elevate our bottom line. Our bottom line is.. what can we do to increase the quality of life of an animal. We appreciate your support of our practice and hope you know you will always be treated like family at Animal House.

They had my dog sedated all day and they didn't do anything to him They were only supposed to have my dog for 3 hours, I took him early today at 10:00 a.m. they sedated him, we called twice and the one who answered the phone didn't know anything, in fact I went at 1:00 p.m. to pick him up and said the doctor wasn't there My daughter picked him up at 4:00 p.m. and they still hadn't checked him, she told them to deliver him to her sedated and take him to another clinic.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Herd is amazing. She is knowledgeable, caring and does an impressive job of staying calm while keeping you calm if she has to deliver potentially scary information. She has a problem solving mindset and looks at all the possible care avenues to care for your pet without it being overly strenuous on the pet or parent. I have been to vet specialist for my cat’s heart and autoimmune disorder, Dr. Herd is where I feel my cat is in the best care.
Experiencia fantástica: was happy to bring Ridley here. he was spayed with no issues and came out just fine. over two days later he is back to normal as we were not keen on giving him any more sedative to calm him down. he means the world to my wife and i and the staff (while at one time had a lapse of proper communication) took excellent care of our fur baby. would recommend them to anyone just realize they seem to always be very busy so patience is a VERTUE!

Experiencia fantástica: The staff at Animal House Veterinary Clinic are amazing. They are not only very helpful and friendly, but they are the best when it comes to my pets! My pets are not scared to be there and they never come out scared. It is like a home where my pets feel safe, thank you for everything you do!
Experiencia negativa: My dog underwent surgery from which she died approximately 9 hours after this surgery. She was delivered to me alive and 4 hours after the surgery she became complicated and I had to take her to an emergency hospital where they told me she had a serious infection in the larynx where the unfortunate surgical intervention was carried out, the solution they gave me was less than 50% chance that I could survive and very expensive for me, I unfortunately had to make the decision to euthanize him. At the clinic where the surgery was performed, they did not give me antibiotics or any pain medicine. After informing the clinic that my dog had died from the surgery they performed, they reimbursed me for the cost of the surgery. Nothing can change my pain I lost my babe girl
Experiencia positiva: We just had our cat neutered, and while the procedure went well, the experience afterwards has been pretty terrible. The aftercare instructions were really sparse, and there was no real consulting with anyone to ask questions or give clarification. As we were leaving, people at the desk out front told us we didn't need a cone for a cat. However, when we got home we were worried about how much he was licking, and over the phone they told us we should have gotten a cone. But the most frustrating part was that when we called it was mostly because our cat was making a loud gurgling, wheezing sound we've never heard him make. When asking the person on the phone, she had to call us back once she talked to a doctor. When she called back, she didn't even ask them our question, just asked about the cone, which was far less pressing. She hung up again and eventually called us back. Then told us the doctor said "the cat growling is normal," completely misrepresenting what was happening and not communicating what we said to the doctor at all. The cat wasn't growling, he was practically choking. The lady on the phone was dismissive of us at this point, and so we ended the call there. I understand that they're busy so the doctors likely have limited availability. But we felt zero confidence in what we were told, and ended up calling another vet. There should be clear communication on what is needed, we shouldn't have been told to not get a cone at the front desk, and the lady handling the phones needs at least some training on how to do her job. Update: Like her response said, the doctor did try to call me. I missed the initial call and called back. Haven't heard back, which is fine at this point. I hope they improve their training process there or something
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Herd, her staff, and practice have been amazing to myself, my family, and the animals I am lucky enough to call my family members over the years. Dr Herd is kind, compassionate, intelligent, and amazing at her job. Her staff are amazing and compassionate as well and really care about people and animals. I was recently treated with such deep respect, kindness, and compassion at Dr Herd’s office, (as with every previous visit) that it was an experience I will never forget and I will always recommend Animal House to anyone for the best pupper care. Thank you, Dr Herd, for everything you and your staff do to help the Nashville community and our pets. You touch hearts and save lives daily. Experiencia fantástica: From the bottom of my heart I want to thank the entire staff at Animal House for the excellent service and care they provided for me and my dog Tarzan throughout his entire life. Tarzan was diagnosed with lymphoma which is a deadly cancer giving my dog very little time to live after being diagnosed, Dr Herd provided an affordable chemotherapy medication that gave me many months past the average life expectancy that I got to cherish with my pup. Unfortunately, my Dog passed about two months ago from the cancer and while I’m out cleaning out my mailbox I see a heartfelt letter from the entire staff wishing their condolences..whenever or if I’m ever ready to get another dog I will 100% be taking them to Animal House and will recommend anybody else to do the same.
Experiencia negativa: I wish i could put no stars but this place is absolutely unprofessional and only care about the money my dear friend recently went to get surgery for her frenchie when she finally gathered the money they were asking from her at a certain time she got her dog from surgery and they did not provide or offer any medication or any thing that will help after. 4 days after the surgery she unfortunately passed away due to the stitches coming apart! My friend lost her dear dog Cali that she loved with all her heart, she then went to the office to tell them what had happened due to them being so negligent and not stitching her correctly and they were rude and unremorseful and just told her that was a risk of the surgery. Don't come to this vets office they cant hold themselves accountable anything.
I am the first person to admit when I do something wrong but lady, you need to get your facts straight. Cali was in active labor and had been for several days before she was brought to us. She was bred to a much bigger dog and she had a puppy stuck in the birth canal. The client didn’t even have the money for the exam. The only humane thing to do was to euthanize her for free. In the middle of the day, I stopped everything I was doing and prayed to God to help me help this woman and her sweet dog. I am a real business and have real debt so I can’t afford to do much of anything for free. My heart said, ask and you shall receive, I posted on our Facebook page that Cali needed help and within 30 minutes we had the money to take her to surgery. My team stayed until almost 8 pm, trying to save Cali and her puppies. We were all devastated to hear she had passed away. We offered to help with the babies but the owner indicated she didn’t need our help. The owner never contributed a dime towards the care of Cali. We went above and beyond to save a dog that should have never been in this situation. We showed great kindness to her mom and cared for her with the best intentions. It saddens me to hear that you believe the things you wrote. If I could save them all for free I would but I am not God and animals die, especially when care is delayed.
Experiencia fantástica: I reached out to Animal House and they told me to bring my lil guy over and they would take good care of him and they sure did!! They made me feel so comfortable about the treatment he was given and made sure i understood all options. My lil guy was right at home with them. He was not feeling well but in no time he was back to himself. I owe it all to the amazing care that was given. The team was really caring and all about not just my lil guy but other pets that came in. It was so genuine and I am happy I chose Animal House

Experiencia positiva: Dr Herd has the potential to be a fantastic veterinarian. The first time I went I was very impressed although the whole no appointment thing I didn't realize how much of a big deal this was until we waited 4 hours for our first visit and although they take no appointments we saw a dog after dog after dog come in and out that had came in hours after we had been there. We literally got there at 1:00 in the afternoon roughly and left at closing time at about 5:15 p.m. the main reason why we went there was to have an ultrasound done which I was told was price very reasonably. This is very important because we were told that there was a liver tumor and high liver values by another veterinarian they wanted to do an ultrasound that was hundreds of dollars more than what she priced it out at I'm talking about $1,000 less. I thought that she was just trying to help others by not charging an arm and a leg and maybe she already had the machine paid off so this didn't seem two out of the ordinary even though it was such a big gap in pricing as the other vets did not have an ultrasound machine on site. So let me tell you this is what I've figured out since going to Dr heard several times since. one is that she did the ultra sound shaved my dog's belly all of that came back in and said there was nothing which obviously made us feel very good about the situation we were told that the ultrasound was $150 and we ended up paying $160 something. Well I ended up taking my dog several months later to another vet Good Samaritan and they asked about the ultrasound and if we wanted to move forward I said I already had it done for $150 they were Amazed by this pricing and said that's great and I can send people to her. So I call Dr Hertz office which you cannot call directly to the office you call somebody at their house they contact the doctor and then they get back to you sometimes it's Dr Hurd sometimes it's Judy the lady that answers the phone who has access to all the records. So obviously this was several months later I called up there to ask for the ultrasound images and the doctor wanted to know whether the ultrasound was an actual ultrasound or a lesser form of ultrasound which I can't remember what he called it but it didn't show as much. We still felt a lump in the abdomen which she never felt and said that there was nothing in the ultrasound as well so I wanted a second opinion I paid to have the ultrasound done and when I called she said there's no record of any ultrasound ever being done. After waiting for her to get back to me she said the doctor did not have any record of it because she didn't see anything on it and she didn't charge me for it. This was never told to me I never asked for anything free and im perfectly capable of paying for the services that were requested. I didn't complain about the time we waited or the people coming in and out after us. I found this very inappropriate as now there is no evidence that it was ever done there's no way for me to get a second opinion without paying for it again. I thought that Dr heard and I had a great game plan planned out for my other dog who has bad allergies she said let's cancel out fleas as the culprit for the allergy she said we'll do this by giving a cytopoint injection and start all three dogs on flea medication and within two months we should know if that's the cause. Well in between this time I had another dog who had swallowed a piece of a rock which we did not know at the time. We went to doctor heard and she told us that the price is going to be $250 again we waited four plus hours and were the last people to be seen again. She had a family emergency and left and did not come back the next day or for the following week but asked if we could get the dog to drink a barium X-ray and come back the next day for another x-ray she was not there and said that nothing was seen and gave Flagyl the bill was over $500. The dog laid in the floor that night unable to use the restroom whining and crying so I had to take her to another veterinarian and pay for all the x-rays

From the moment you walk in, you can tell that the staff genuinely cares about the animals and are deeply passionate about their work. They consistently go above and beyond to provide the best care possible. At the beginning of this year, my cat was extremely sick. I took her to an emergency vet, where I spent hours only to be told it might be stomach issues, and I was handed a $900 bill. Unfortunately, my cat did not get better, so I took her to Animal House. Within five minutes, Dr. Herd diagnosed her with absolute certainty and promptly scheduled her for mouth surgery to have her teeth removed. The care they provided was exceptional, and now my baby girl is happy and healthy. Since then, Animal House has become my primary veterinarian. I’ve taken my other animals there, and each time they have been treated with the highest level of care. The clinic is affordable, and it’s clear that they are not in it for the money but for the love of animals and helping the community. I have recommended Animal House to other pet owners, and they have all had wonderful experiences. The praises for Dr. Herd and the staff are endless. I cannot recommend Animal House Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Herd, and the entire staff enough. They are truly the best!
Experiencia negativa: You know as a pet owner when they are on their last leg of life, right? My 10 year old dog had an on-going orthopedic (both knees) problem for the past 5 1/2 years. I expressed from the very beginning that this has been on going, I cannot afford surgery, and I've been keeping his pain at bay with anti-inflammatory and pain meds, when needed. He was in obvious pain, which was turning into aggression, and at times had a very hard time standing and walking. X-rays showed his knees were bone on bone. Surgery was recommended, and even though there was "no pressure to move forward with it", the vet was making it seem like it was the only viable option aside from continuing medications. Unlike A LOT of people, I cannot afford $12k+ for both knees to be operated on. The vet offered to do the surgery at a fraction of the price, even though she is not board certified to do so!! What?! Yeah, read that again y'all!! I was given a 30 day supply of pain meds and handed a surgery estimate. Not sure what kind of sedative/pain reliever was given for the x-ray either. My dog never snapped out of it and had 2 seizures in less than an hour of leaving. He never had a history of seizures. A couple hours after leaving this place, I was at an ER vet and he had to be euthanized. He had completely lost his ability to stand and function on his own. It's a shame this vet couldn't take his current value of life into consideration and initially do the right thing for my dog, instead of being money hungry and recommending a procedure she has no business doing in the first place.
Experiencia negativa: I loved this place, previously gave them 5 stars. I lived in Nashville for many years and used Katrina Herd , the owner for 5 years with my dog Veggie. I loved the care there. I was, however, very frustrated with the staff at front desk. They did not return calls, deal with business in a timely manner and many times refused to allow me to get prescriptions filled online at my choice of pharmacy, pushing their online pharmacy and wanting to fill there. Still, I left them 5 stars and I referred business there. 2 years ago I moved to Florida. I was here visiting and was living part time Fla and part time TN while I was house hunting and I needed emergency vet care for a ongoing skin issue my dog had with infection of her skin. (very dangerous bacterial infection). I was limited and no vets here could see here and being near the beach was not a emergency hospital nearby. Since my vet was still Dr. Herd's office, I emailed and asked if they could refill her antibiotic, and her Apoquel a allergy pill because she had another blazing infection. I was concerned as shes a elderly dog now. At the time they insisted I come in and staff did not understand I was in Fla, kept saying to find a vet here, but I was still a Nashville resident, was here temporarily at the time house hunting and I had no established vet here to see. We did a Video appointment from Fla and they called in medicine for me. I didn't think there was a problem. The staff was rude about it, and years later, now in 2024 I need a copy of SOAP notes. Pet insurance asked for medical records said to ask vet for SOAP notes . I sent a request on 6/6/24 no response, 6/7 no response, I called. Then today I re-forwarded the email request from 6/7 for SOAP notes for pet insurance, otherwise they won't insure your pet. They sent and then the email came back asking "What email address do we send to?". I thought that was so odd, as I WAS emailing them from my email address, and I responded this email you are writing me on. I was confused why they would ask but I went ahead and wrote out the email address again, as it was in the to/from field. Then they sent notes that had Nasty comments about ME in the notes. Saying "IS she really worth the hassle HELP". All because I asked for a refill on prescription? I had been treating the same illness 5 years. How unsual is it to ask for a refill when you are out of town and my dogs sick? I was so upset and hurt you would find it PROFESSIONAL to leave such a comment and a couple other comments saying I was irrate. If I was irrate during that time you would have known. There is a way to treat a customer. We keep your small business IN business and its because of patients like us that you are there. Don't forget that. I then get a email from Gayle today their manager stating that Katrina said to tell me she hopes I treat my next vet with more compassion and respect? SHOCKING. I always treated them with respect. As a matter of fact when she struggled during COVID I worked with Lori vanOlst to lower our pricing at bioPURE so we could treat the clinic and the back rooms for germs to ensure everyone was safe and stayed healthy. I more than 50% discounted the rates for Dr. Herd as I knew she was my vet and a good one and had been so caring to my dog. I'm so disappointed you'd make such a comment about me in the notes . Surprised, so if I was irrate as you say, please forgive me, but I would never write a comment like that about my customer or patient. Best wishes .
We loved you and Veggie too. It’s not easy owning a small business and I can honestly say, I do the best I can everyday, and sometimes it’s just not good enough. My clinic has went through hell and back but we’re still here with the same heart and compassion we’ve always had. I’m still showing up in hopes of being of service to those that walk through my door. I agree with you, completely and I wasn’t aware anyone had written something like that. I know I should have been and I apologize and want you to know, I really appreciated what you did for us during Covid. Not sure what people are supposed to do that get off at 4pm and have to fight traffic. This vet also shutdown for months “for compassion” for their employees to give them a break. If you want reliability then this place isn’t it.

Experiencia negativa: I absolutely loved how cared for my pet was at the animal house the first time I took her. I decided to take her back to get spayed, and had the worst experience. I made the appointment 2 or 3 weeks ago. I was one of the first people to drop my pet off that morning, but they told me they would call throughout the day to tell me how she was doing. I called multiple times and never received an answer. I decided to go to the clinic to check on my pet because I was told she would be done at 5pm at the latest. I was told that my dog didn’t get fixed today because they had emergencies come up. I understand emergencies come up and they have to take priority, but I would have liked to be called so I could have picked up my dog. Once I got to the clinic to pick her up and I was told she didn’t get fixed the girl at the front did not seem to care at all that we hadn’t been called. Overall I just had a bad experience. It would not let me reply so I just wanted to respond back! The only text message I received was to fill out paperwork, but there was no mention that you may not have be able to get to her Monday. The office staff should have voiced that Monday morning when she was brought. Like I said previously, last time services was great, just not this time.

Experiencia negativa: I would not bring a pet rock to this clinic. Brought my foster dog in for heartworm treatment. Came in on Monday to the office to chaos. First the check in insisted he had been a patient there before. I said that's impossible as he is a foster from Memphis so unless he traveled from Memphis to Nashville and back to Memphis you have the wrong dog. I finally said you are probably looking at his records sent over from Memphis animal shelter...which should have been obvious that the doctor listed was not one of theirs. She then told me to bring him in. So I did. She took him back and I waited. I finally approached again and asked what was happening. I was told they were very busy and they'd call me in a couple hours. I finally called back as I don't live near by and it was getting close to closing time. Of course no one answers and calls go to a machine. Luckily someone called me back and told me he would need to stay overnight (which no one informed me of earlier during drop off). I said ok I'll be back the next afternoon to pick him. Next day I drive again to Nashville and walk in for pick up. I was then told he has to stay another night as they are doing fast kill and he got a second shot today. As you can imagine it's pretty frustrating that at the initial drop off and the phone call later that day no one knew this information or bothered to tell me. So I drove out of my way and scheduled another appointment on the next day for pick up that I now have to rearrange. This office is pure chaos with zero communication. I'm all for lower prices but at what cost? You get no information or updates on your pet and are left in the dark. Its like they are literally herding animals in one after the other and no one knows what's going on. We have four personal dogs and have fostered countless others so have been to many vets in the middle TN area. I can't say I've ever seen an office operate this way before. I know we pay a premium for our personal vet in Franklin but after this experience I definitely won't complain about that ever again. Adding, just went back in to pick him up against their medical advice. Front desk lady insisted he got his heartworm diagnosed by them in August and he was "eat up with worms". I laughed and said no mam he was in Memphis in August that's impossible. The vet had to hush her up and explain it to her. Literally no one has any clue what is going in this office. If it weren't for the poor voiceless animals in their care this would all be comical. Please, if you need low cost vet care, search for other resources. This isn't worth the risk here. Edit to add to Dr Herd. I wish this was resolved in a better manner. You were present the second day and aware there were several issues and the ball was dropped big time related to zero communication regarding my pets treatment and complete lack of awareness regarding his history. While I was clearly frustrated, a little sympathy or at least better customer service and reassurance would have gone a long way. Would you not be frustrated and questioning your pets care if for two days straight multiple office staff gave you completely different answers to your pets treatment and discharge plan or no answers regarding what was happening to your pet? Would it not be concerning that multiple staff members kept insisting your pet was a prior patient there when that was impossible? Would you not begin to question care at that point? If you can't understand why I was made to feel the way I did them I'm sorry. Pulling your customer to the side, apologizing for all the misunderstandings, and starting some open communication would have gone a long way. Lesson learned for us both. I should not have left the first day without a clear plan of treatment (but was told to expect a call from the office). And I'd (respectfully) recommend you try to diffuse a frustrating situation next time and not storm off (I don't mean that in a condescending way as emotions were high and likely a long day for you and you were likely in the dark about the situation up until that point).
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Herd and the Animal House team work tirelessly for animals in their care. They are exceptional partners to many rescue organizations. Dr Herd had personally attended to my fur babies for years and had great care and compassion in particular for an elderly cat that needed quite a bit of supportive care. I would trust her implicitly with any of my pets. She has saved many animals that other vets would not have given a chance. Experienced fosters and rescues would understand timing around various complicated treatments - especially heartworms. Communication is a two way street, and if you communicate with your vet team they will do their best to help and educate you.
Experiencia negativa: Called the day before to make sure my dog could get an ultrasound and was told as long as I was at the vet by 415 she would be seen. My dog has severe anxiety in the car so I wanted to make sure they could provide the service. Needless to say arrived by 415 and the Vet decided she could not perform the ultrasound I asked for the office manager and was told it is the Vet on duty. If you need services I would check elsewhere because they surely do not care about the pet.

Experiencia negativa: After taking my dog in for internal bleeding, they told me to bring her back the next morning for surgery and she would be “okay.” The next morning I took her in for surgery. I get a call she made it through and was on the way to pick her up. In route, I get a call she died in the recovery room. The only thing the vet said was, “I’m sorry,” before she hung up on me. Poor decision making. They charged me to kill my dog. 2 staff on site.

(especially their Angel Hilary;) If your are looking for a staff who genuinely cares for your pet like their own, along with top notch medical care, this is the place for you. After paying an arm and a leg to have emergency surgery for my japanese chin baby at another clinic, the incision opened and a deadly infection began to spread. I was beside myself when I returned to learn they would refuse to help my bf without me paying again. And even more than I did the first time! My bank account was already drained on their first attempt. I couldn't believe they let us leave knowing she could die. I felt hopeless. That is until I called Animal House! Hilary from the front office staff went above and beyond. She called me back from her home after clinic hours, giving up her own precious time to help me find a plan to save my baby. Throughout the whole process she even allowed me to bother her with text messages after hours. In fact, the entire staff was kind,helpful, and good to my girl chin. So much so that when my restless newly one eyed girl popped those sutures again....Animal House didn't hesitate to help me once more. Thank all you there at Animal House and to our Angel Hilary!

She has performed surgery on three of my Great Pyrenees and has helped us treat numerous rescue dogs as well. What makes this place even more special is that since it's not a corporate clinic, they are able to keep their prices reasonable. When Huey needed an MMP for his knee--the price would have been three times more expensive at the clinics in Knoxville. I simply can not thank Dr. Herd and her incredible team enough! If you are looking for a place to take your pet--Animal House is the place!
Experiencia fantástica: I honestly don’t know if there are enough positive/kind words in the dictionary to even begin to explain the amazing experience we had at our FIRST visit to Animal House! We live in Nashville but work out of state M-F (po-dunk USA). While out of state, one of our fur-babies gashed his side open on a nail. Of course, in a panic, we start calling every pet hospital/clinic listed around us but none of them answered their phones OR had the option to leave a message. So we were pretty positive we would have to travel back to Nashville to get him help. We contacted Animal House and they gave us advice on what to do to keep the wound clean until we could get him back to Nashville. We drove 143 miles to a place we had never been not knowing what to expect. Talk about turning a big negative into a HUGE positive! When we got there they got us checked in promptly. They came out shorty after and took him back to weight him and administer some pain medication. Then brought him back out to sit with us until he could be seen by the doctor. After that Dr. Herd and Sara came out to speak with us. They LISTENED! They listened to every detail we provided without interruption and with the most compassion I have ever experienced in a veterinarian’s office. They analyzed the wound and then explained in detail what they would be doing for him. As if that wasn’t enough already, EVERY staff member that we encountered was so very pleasant! And I think we talked to just about every one of them ! Long story short……if Google would let me give Animal House 100 stars I would! Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend! And it’s the only place I will be going for any of my fur-babies’ needs! Bubba is pretty much back to normal today and being the his little rambunctious self!

Experiencia fantástica: My sweet senior kitty was attacked by something and had a horrible puncture wound in her chest.. she was not doing well, and understandably, I was panicking. I contacted animal house and they got in me the next day. They assured me she would be just fine, took her into their care and kept her overnight. I went home feeling confident; the staff was absolutely fantastic, super helpful, and helped calm my nerves. They next day, I came to get my girl, and all is well. She is happy and healthy, her wound has healed beautifully, and she is back to being herself. I can't thank them enough for helping us. I highly, highly recommend this location.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely the best interaction with a vet I have ever had. I went in, in a panic my poor kitty was have urinary problems and I was so scared that he had crystals. They took him straight back and also before they did anything asked if I was on a budget. Which I was, I take care of my animals 100 percent the places I had called were talking about thousands of dollars. They brought my baby back to me and had some antibiotics and pain meds for him. And here we are a week later and he is a brand new kitty!! Thank God for the animal house and Dr herd. Because I didn't know what I was going to do. Noel is my emotional support animal and I couldnt lose him!! Thank you so much for your patience with me ( because I was an emotional mess) and thank you even MORE for helping my NOEL feel so much better!!!!

Experiencia negativa: The Vet who was to provide services to spay my pup resulted in the death of my dog. Not only did they say she was okay and to come pick her up but also said they couldn’t provide emergency service to send her to an animal hospital because it was now after hours. I had to pick my pup up barely conscious and rush her myself to an emergency vet but also laid next to her the whole time until she passed. There wasn’t enough time to save her. I still to this day wish I could have her back. She was a 5 year old red doberman. Saint Patrick’s Day she would’ve turned 7

Experiencia negativa: If i could give minus 1 star I would. I should have known that something cheap will be very expensive at the end. My cat was supposed to get spayed so i had to ask to go late to work to take her and she didn’t eat anything from 10 pm the day before. I also took the next day off to be able to take care of her. I kept asking for updates and they kept telling me she was okay and done, they even sent me discharge papers. So imagine my surprise when they called me at 6:30 pm if is okay for her to stay over because they had a busy day and they could do the surgery the next day. Obviously i went and picked her up. She was in a carrier the whole day and they only took her out to get her weight. She did not eat in almost 24 hours and she didn’t use the bathroom in 12 hours. For obvious reasons i will not be going back. I am only thankful that they didn’t do the surgery because i am scared of what the outcome of that could have been. I will add that the staff was very helpful and nice but all of that should not have happened.

When I got here. 1 the phone is not working 2 they did not even no what I was there for even though I tested and told them ahead of time. 3 after they asked me on text when I can come I told then within the hour they said that was fine. 4 I get there she's like it will take like a hour of me waiting. but then she was like I will just do it really quickly. Omg ok! 5 they took one of my babies in and bought her right back out after 5 minutes telling me she would not let them do anything but I believe they did not put any effort in is to try. They took care of everything last year. 6 they did not tell me anything that they did she just asked for the payment and did not even tell me how much it was going to be. I had to ask. 7 then she pulled out a calculator lol and was like we took off $75 from the one they did not finish and said $275 omg and then she was like oh I forgot to add flea treatment then said $343 what! So I asked for a receipt. 8 she brought out my receipt and 2 dollars and that was that. Oh no wait Ieave they call me. I'm sorry but I forgot to give u the flea treatment omg. So I have to go back. I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to come out with it. 9 I realize that they did not tell me if my babies heartworm test was negative lol so she had to go check and I asked for Sedation medicine for my nerves dog and she told me the vet was not there and out sick what so who looked at my dog for there yearly wellness check up?? If the vet is not there but I got charged for it. And I am still not done because the other dog that they did not finish has to be Sedated to Finish the exam which will be another $130 + $40 + $75 that is crazy now I wish I had took them somewhere else.

They do a great job in every way. Always get the best way to care for my dogs. Experiencia negativa: If I could leave 0 stars i would. They did a neuter, and claw removal and put antibiotics on my dog. They told me to come back in two weeks (today) to get his stitches removed and ears flushed. I pulled up and they have signs saying “temporarily closed indefinitely”. I got no call, or anything telling me they were closing and so I texted the number I have and all the person could tell me was “sorry we’re closed”. Now my dog is left with old stitches in his feet and antibiotics in his ears that need to be flushed all because these people closed with out getting their patients taken care of first . I will never waste my time and money here again.

My cat was showing signs of a possible serious illness and the staff made me feel so absolutely comfortable and explained all the pricing to me. Thank you so much for y’alls work and prices that are so reasonable, I can actually take my cat to the vet and not be terrified whether I can afford it or not.
Experiencia fantástica: AHVC Antioch saved the day when I needed a pet euthanized and our vet was not available. All staff members were very understanding, compassionate and professional. They explained the process and answered all our questions. From check-in to completion, it took about 3 hours, not that long for a walk-in clinic, on a Monday! The fee was very reasonable and we were given a thoughtful custom keepsake at no charge. I recommend this clinic!
Experiencia fantástica: Kind, caring yet professional from receptionis to Dr. Yvette Pennington who's kind words in time of distress were highly appreciated. She not only updated about my pet cat's state of health but her compassion towards Garfield gave me peace of mind that he indeed well taken care off and in good loving hand's. The estimate for medical treatment was $250, by time of Garfield's pickup the actual bill was $217 which was another pleasant surprise and confirmed that honest professionals are still in existence. Experiencia fantástica: My cat had a urinary blockage and they took wonderful care of him. He had to go back in for a second surgery sadly but they were excellent the whole way through. From the start Ariel went out of her way to give me different financial options. And the doctors were great in keeping me updated and reassuring me. Stitches came out about a week ago and he is doing great. Will be a repeat customer.
Experiencia negativa: This veterinary clinic is wishy washy about how they perform their services. I’ve been debating posting this for quite some time but it’s time I speak up. Having been a patient with them since august 2020, I noticed a number of changes and hidden fees. They charge for expensive radiographs and guilt their customers into paying for extra services. My dog is quite old and I’m worried about quality of life over how long he is with me. They do not respect my wishes, guilt me into paying $500 for services for what they know is a chronic belly ache issue. I paid $500 last time I went in there over diarrhea. They said he had to have eaten something when my dog never leaves my side and my house is immaculately clean. I’m horrified that they are out here stealing from people and don’t wish this on anyone. Please choose another vet!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been going to Animal House for several years and they are simply the best! They truly go above and beyond to treat your pet exactly the same way they would treat their own. Dr Pennington is the “House” of vets!! She’s made it her mission to help identify and treat a stray runt kittens issues and I couldn’t thank her, and the ENTIRE STAFF, for all they do and the personal touch
Experiencia fantástica: I love this vet they're always thorough and friendly. They are usually pretty busy this wait time was a little bit longer than usual but it's understandable with the pandemic and everybody having to be a walk-in only but other than that visit was great always kind staff. I also love that the vet will call and talk to you about your pet before they do anything additional and just generally update you on their progress. Dr. Emily is always very friendly and considerate and will work with you and suggest to you what cans be done.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Heckle was so great. We’re here evacuating from Nola and were panicked when our dog started breathing quickly. There was a wait but it was great to have a walk in available. They checked everything and communicated very well with us. It was clear that Dr. Heckle was very knowledgeable and empathetic. We hope we don’t have to go back while here but grateful we had them!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Mitchell is an amazing diagnostician! My German Shepherd started improving in less than 24 hours. Keep in mind she had never seen my dog because I was in Nashville for a conference. Will was so calm and gentle with my dog. I cannot say enough good things about the whole staff! Bravo!
Experiencia fantástica: Our normal vet was all booked up in our pup was injured. Not only were they able to get us in but I didn't even have to wait for a walk-in appointment! The staff and vet were super nice and helpful with my crazy dog. I would recommend them to anybody.
