Experiencia fantástica: I recently just moved and am in the process of finding a new vet and I really wanted to leave a great review for West Suburban. It was the first and only vet I took my first dog to, so I never really had an idea of what a vet is like. However, now that I am trying to find a new one I realize how amazing this vet truly is! Every vet and tech we have seen over the last 4 years has been so kind and helpful. They were ALWAYS honest and always wanted to try options that were simpler/cheaper before jumping into a more expensive option. My dog is high energy and has anxiety and they were always so understanding and treated her so well. They have the cleanest vet office I have ever visited and they have great options for an anxious pup like mine, like a room with no windows and a back door entrance. I am going to miss them and highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: We were referred here by our current vet d/t knee & ACL issues with our 2 year old pit bull. We scheduled a consultation and I was extremely happy with the Dr.’s less invasive approach and was pleasantly surprised to have him NOT recommend surgery at this time❤️

My husband lost his job and we’ve been struggling so they even gave us some goodies to take home and I thought that was so sweet.

My cat got 2 vaccines this morning - I thought she was having a vaccine reaction and they said to come in, they took her back right away and made sure she was okay. No charge for the extra visit or the meds to help her. These guys are the best and they always go above and beyond.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog had a very large mass that had grown very quickly. We always took our dogs to East Suburban Clinic as it is very close to our house. When I tried to get into them, they wouldn’t even see my pet and acted like they could care less. A friend of ours recommended West Suburban Animal Hospital. We got an appointment and went in within a day. They were very knowledgeable and kind. We decided the best route was to surgically remove the mass as it was very big. They quoted me the price for surgery and I explained everything clearly. I was even able to add a spay in with the surgery for VERY little cost. Their prices are the best I’ve seen around and they took great care of our girl and even called me on a Saturday to check on her. East Suburban was trying to push me to an emergency vet which would have cost me thousands of dollars for surgery. I will be continuing all care of my animals through West Suburban from now on! Thank you to staff for taking such great care of Layla.

After 2 long surgery’s on my boy who got HBC with 5 fractures (both back legs) this team outdid themselves and I now have a cat who can walk and loves his life. Staff was friendly, clinic smells great, overall great experience THANK YOU!!!! Benson loves you all!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about Dr Pontius and the staff at West Suburban. I saw him over a 6 month period after my German Shorthair suffered a horrific leg injury. He was so patient with him and he never gave up, neither did I. My boy is back to his bunny chasing self and his brother is so happy . Dr Pondtius truly cares for animals!

This rewiew was just after my dog had shoulder surgery and as the weeks go by I just had to tell you more about my experience. My dog had a serious fracture that the Ortopedic surgeons in Michigan wanted to charge me around $6000.00 to operate. I'm 68 yrs old and on a fixed income. A friend told me about West Suburban and I had the emergency records sent there. Dr. Pontius reached out to me and told me he had never done this surgery before but he assured me he could do it. After talking at length with me the last thing he said was, "I'm just a Vet that cares about animals and I want to offer the people that love them an affordable option. I liked him immediately and it was the best choice by far. I was charged less than half of what the Ortopedic places wanted. It's been 5 weeks and my girl is healing nicely. Thank you Dr. Pontius and staff for your excellent care. I recommend this Dr. Highly..in fact I just recommended you!

Experiencia fantástica: Our cocker spaniel Carson, who is 10, was evaluated for possible “knee” surgery and sent to Dr Thompson at West Suburban Animal Hospital. NW Ohio is incredibly lucky to have Dr Thompson; without him, we would probably have had to drive to Ann Arbor for treatment. We got in pretty quickly to see Dr Thompson. The staff here is very efficient and professional and obviously cares about animals. Dr Thompson confirmed that Carson needed surgery to repair tears in his “knee.” (Dogs don’t really have knees.). This is a fairly common procedure at West Suburban, and the staff has the procedure and process down to a science. We were given verbal instructions and quite comprehensive written instructions. I referred to these instructions repeatedly! The staff and phone and e-mail follow ups scheduled for us. Carson did beautifully and was healed by his post-op visit. We were very careful with him during his post-op period. He felt good in no time, but there is forced inactivity while the repair heals. He did start limping again some time after he was cleared to return to activity. We returned to Dr Thompson. Another x-ray was performed, and Carson was put on reduced activity. He had a slight tear that could heal on its own. We followed the instructions and returned in the specified time-frame, where he was pronounced “good to go!” There was NO CHARGE for these routine visits. I asked if there was a charge, since we’d already been discharged from care once, and I was told “No charge; it’s a follow-up.” What a pleasant surprise! I wouldn’t hesitate to return to West Suburban Animal Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: From the first visit to her last, the staff took the best care of our girl! They performed TPLO surgery on both knees and she did great. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed over a year later with Osteosarcoma and we only had 8 weeks left with her. It was heartbreaking but the staff made the passing of our beautiful Rotty, Maya, as good as it could be! They are so compassionate. We will continue to take our furbabies here. We still have our Bella and a new puppy, Mocha!

Dr Bill was out if town and this Kind Veterinarian was able to get us in. I knew he wouldn't wake up anymore so this is his way of saying It's time Mom.! All of the receptionists are so nice and the doctor called me multiple times to keep me updated on what was going on with my pet and was also so friendly. I HIGHLY recommend them! They aren't close to my house but I am considering switching to them for my dogs annual care as well!!

My dog gets extremely excited just pulling into the parking lot because he knows treats are coming, while my two cats usually feel anxious during appointments. No matter the mood—excited or nervous—every staff member always works to keep my pets calm and comfortable. Their care shows in every visit, and I always feel supported both as a pet owner and person. Highly recommend for anyone searching for a clinic that truly looks out for both pets and owners.

Experiencia fantástica: We would like to thank Dr. Beth for the years shes not only cared for Lily but for devoting her life to caring and loving our fur babies the way she does . The trip across town was well worth it just knowing that Lily was getting the best care possible. It was reassuring and we are ever so greatful... We made the decision to let our girl take the trip to Heaven on Friday August 22. The staff and Dr. Beth made this difficult time the best that It could've possibly gone. Their sympathy was evident. I've taking her to other veterinarians and quickly realized that Dr. Beth's experience, professionalism, love and knowledge was in Lilys best interest as she grew older. If your looking for the best care possible and a friendly professional veterinary staff Id recommend them. Thanks again to the entire staff for the care administered to Lily.

Experiencia fantástica: The place is clean and always smells amazing, which I feel is note worthy because it’s a place for animals! If ever the staff is in a bad mood, you’d never know because they are always so kind - a very different experience than the previous vet we went to. We had an appointment for our dogs anal glands (hey, if you’re reading this, you own a pet and know it comes with the territory!!) and during it, we thought we’d kill two birds with one stone (probably not the best analogy for this type of review but anywhoo) we asked to get our dogs nails trimmed. The vet was very honest with me and said she’d recommend we wait to do the nail trimming during the follow up appointment just because she didn’t want to traumatize our sweet pup. (Since she had just had her glands expressed - hey, you continued to read). I really appreciated the vets honesty and putting our animals needs ahead of a quick dollar.

From the office staff at the desk, the Veterinarian, the vet assistants, the surgical team, anyone and everyone we came in contact with, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. Thank you so much for taking care of Chloe, checking in with us, updates during the day, and help with her aftercare. You turned our heartache and fears into a warm welcome home for Chloe and we now get to enjoy more years with her. I highly recommend this office, thank you again.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog to West Suburban Animal Hospital for a second opinion after I was not receiving any advice or help with the recovery of a procedure on my dog's tail from our current vet. Dr. Radde not only was the kindest human, but she also helped me brainstorm ways to keep Winston away from his tail and was determined to help us through it. After 4 weeks of failing to heal before I came to her, Winston's tail finally healed 3 weeks later. Every West Suburban Animal Hospital staff member was so kind and treated my dog as if he were their own. This will be our vet moving forward.

Experiencia fantástica: Phenomenal service. They spayed our cat and neutered our dog a few weeks ago, and it went as smoothly as possible. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Our babies came home and healed up just fine. West Suburban is who we go to for all of our animals!

Dr. Stacey and the tech we worked with were knowledgeable, compassionate, and made our cats feel so comfortable. Our cat loved looking out the window, and she received many words of admiration from other staff members that passed by. It is very clear that the staff truly love and respect the animals they care for. Lastly, they are very reasonably priced! We are so glad to have found a vet clinic that we love.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently moved to the area from Columbus and are so happy we chose to take our dog (a chihuahua) to West Suburban. We have seen Dr. Gust who has wonderful bedside manner and does a great job both with our dog and with educating us as pet parents about all our dogs health needs. Additionally the desk staff have always been kind, courteous, and friendly. They offer water and coffee when you enter a room and are also available in the lobby—not a need but very nice. Finally, the facilities are clean and bright which is a nice bonus. We are so happy with the care our dog has received here so far and definitely recommend bringing your pets here!

Experiencia fantástica: We are so grateful for West Suburban! We came to them for a second opinion. Our vet told us that our dog has a concerning lump and needs surgery without even talking to us. She sent the tech out to hand us a quote and tell us and that was the extent of it. So we went here and Dr. Morman was an angel! She did a needle biopsy and turns out it is benign and he actually does NOT need surgery. She truly cared, did not rush, and answered all of our questions. The staff was all such a joy. We have now transferred and will be at West Suburban for all of our veterinary needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I only got to be a client for 2 short days due to my little fur baby needing to be euthanized. But I can’t say enough nice things about the staff and vets I had contact with. Kind, caring and compassionate doesn’t even begin to cover it. I wish I would have switched years ago. If I do ever decide to adopt another fur baby, we will for sure be coming back. A+ all the way.

Experiencia fantástica: Went here to get a second opinion on my dogs cancer diagnosis. The staff was very kind, fast and efficient. They confirmed the finding but didn't say to immediately put him down like the ER vet in ann arbor did. Instead, they offered steroids to help make him comfortable. And they didn't charge me as much as originally quoted due to only doing a recheck. They showed us kindness and said our sweet Tom was a handsome boy

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing vet! Our great dane had a long year with a broken toe, surgery and recovery. They have been fairly priced and gave outstanding care. Unfortunately, we had to put him down at an emergency vet due to his stomach flipping. After losing our sweet boy, we received a hand written card in the mail from West Suburban Staff. So sweet for them to take an extra few minutes in their day to send condolences. You don't see many places giving genuine care anymore. We value this vet and wouldn't go anywhere else in the future!

She was scared like any other vet appointment but as soon as the actual vet opened the door, she beeline to her and was all about her, and even presented her belly for rubs. All of the staff was great and compassionate and I'm grateful they could fir her in last minute

Experiencia negativa: I used to love this practice, but lately I've been incredibly disappointed: the practice is not compassionate care or fear free. My dog is very anxious and fearful and he has been drug across the floor by his collar to listen to his heart after he backed away from a stethoscope; backed into a corner by two techs trying to get a blood sample; and finally given an injection in the waiting room with numerous other dogs and people moving about when there were at least two open and clean rooms! These were three separate visits with different vets and techs. I see a number of techs are Fear Free Certified, but the website must be out of date because these practices are not followed: even when I specifically asked to use fear free techniques today. This review does NOT apply to Dr. Rosebock - she has been very helpful, compassionate, and patient with my anxious pup!

They have a very experienced orthopedic surgeon, and my pup, who is normally timid, took to him right away.They kept me informed on what was happening before surgery and after surgery.The vet called and explained his procedure after the surgery.They sent me home with a detailed written plan on rehab and called twice once we were home.I had one issue and they called me back the same day.Very confident in this group .

Experiencia fantástica: It is 1-1/2 hours from home. I was recommended to this place for torn ligaments in my pup. The office is on a quiet residential street with plenty of parking. We were about 30 minutes early but was taken right in and met the Vet within 10 minutes. They x-rayed and explained procedures and hardships. I did not feel rushed and they kept her overnight because it was more convenient for surgery the next day .Speaking with me a couple of times the first week asking about her progress when we took her home. A convenient two week online visit is planned. Things were explained and typed out so you can reference once home. The Vet and staff were the best. I would highly recommend this reassuring group to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: Today was our first visit and it was such a positive experience for my cat and I. My experience with the staff from booking our appointment to the actual visit was top tier. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and seemed to really love their job. My cat was seen for pain management for her arthritis. I felt the doctor was very thorough and honest with her knowledge. She came in, introduced herself and sat right on the floor with my cat like we’ve been friends for years. They didn’t act like they wanted to run up a bill like our last vet and this is exactly what I was looking for. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who is genuinely there to care for your pet. I’m happy to start our journey here! Would recommend for sure. :)

Experiencia negativa: I’m sure all of the amazing reviews are true and warranted. However I’ve had a completely different experience. My mom found this vet and was very happy with her first experience and I needed a second opinion on my cat and neither of us loved the vet we were going to so I decided to make an appointment and went as far as to move all history from the old vet for my dog and cat. Day of my appointment I arrive 15 minutes early since my cat goes into hide mode when it’s time to go, so I have to catch her and go at the first chance I can. I was thanked for arriving early and taken promptly to a room. I then sat there with my cat who hates being held which made us both very uncomfortable. I set there nearly 30 minutes AFTER my scheduled time. So I gave up and left, and since there was no one at the desk, I just walked out. The next day I get a survey asking how my visit was. I selected 0 stars and gave an explanation as to why. I wasn’t contacted as a follow up. Fast forward to a little over a week later. My mom takes her puppy in. She tells the doctor what happened to me. The doctor was embarrassed and said the office manager would contact me that day. And that’s not how they do business. It’s has now been a month since my appointment and nobody from the office has reached out once. I’m sure you’re wonderful vets but I’m thinking you must have too many patients and if someone is looking for a full time vet they should perhaps look somewhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Thompson has worked his magic on Gus again. Gus had a previous TPLO on his right rear leg about three years ago. That surgery was a huge success. Unfortunately he tore his left ACL and once again,Dr. Thompson fixed our Boy. We are so grateful to have such an extraordinary Ortho in our area. The quality of life he has given our boy is so appreciated. You feel the love and compassion that Dr. Thompson has for his patients. Thank you Doc and all the staff at West Suburban. Experiencia fantástica: I switched to this vet about 8 years ago due to a bad experience at my previous vet, even with it being a 25 minute drive for me. 110% worth the drive. The front staff is amazing, caring and always helpful. The techs are always pleasant, and all of the vets there have been incredible. I will give a shout out to Dr. Pontius as he has been our main provider for quute some time now, he is the best. I started with 3 dogs, two have since passed due to age, and my remaining girl is nearing the end as well unfortunately and I can truly say I will miss this place dearly when I no longer have a need to go there (until I decide to get another dog that is).

Experiencia fantástica: My dog tore both her CCLs within 10 months. It was horrible watching her in pain and even trying to still run around on 3 legs while holding the injured one up in the air :( I was told after the first one there was a good chance the other would tear but all we could do is hope for the best. Unfortunatly 10 months later thats what happened but after Dr.Thompson and his team did such an amazing job the first time around I obviously went back again to get TPLO surgery done on the other leg. With the first surgery a month after she was acting like nothing happened. With the second surgery it seemed to take a little longer. When I took her back for her 2 month checkup (x-rays included in the price) I was worried she still wasnt putting full weight on her leg. Dr.Thompson assured me everything healed properly and she would be all better in the next couple months. Its now been 8 months since the second TPLO surgery and shes walking and running like none of it ever happened. P.s. We are out of state patients and it was so worth it! Me and my pup stayed at a hotel the night before so we could be at the office first thing the day of her surgery. The staff was super accommodating making sure she was the first one in surgery so we could get on the road and back home as quick as possible after.

Experiencia fantástica: Was visiting my parents for the holidays and my dogs went from their normal rough playing to a fight that left one needing stitches. The West Suburban team was so kind and extremely thorough. It actually ended up costing less than expected and they kept me up to date throughout her procedure and provided great take home instructions. They called and left a follow-up message the day after, and today I just received a get well card for my little girl. Such a sweet, fantastic team and amazing, above & beyond customer service! Wish I could have them for my home/normal veterinarian needs, but with 3 younger dogs it does feel reassuring to have a go-to place for when I am visiting my parents. Highly recommend them!

Experiencia fantástica: As a dog foster, it often happens that the foster is being pulled from a shelter and has unknown issues usually some type of kennel cough or worse. West Suburban is not only my personal vet for my dogs, but it's the only place I take any other dog in my care. All the staff cares, not just for the animals but for the owners as well. Great team!

Experiencia positiva: We had to visit WSAH due to our dog needing surgery. Dr. Dan & the rest of the staff were all great, nice & caring from the first appointment to our last appointment. The only issue I did have was with one person at the front desk the day my dog had surgery & our pick up time. When we checked our dog in we was given a time, I had asked if we could pick our dog up right away at the very earliest allowed & was told yes - they just had to put a time in the computer, which was about an hour later than what I asked for. Well when I called to check & make sure we could pick our dog up at the earlier time, the front desk person that answered was very snotty with me about it & said he would be ready at our appointment time. I explained myself to her & that I was told that appointment time didn’t matter that we could come earlier if our dog was doing good. Clearly annoyed with me she put me on hold & someone else talked to me. They were able to tell me how our dog was & that it wouldn’t be any issue at all to pick them up at the earlier time. Not sure why the other person had such an attitude about it. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back there again if something was to happen & would recommend them to anyone. I can’t give any review on a regular vet visit.

They were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. We were visiting toledo for a week over thanksgiving and came across a stray cat. We decided to adopt the stray cat and made the last-minute decision to fly her back home with us. The staff at the animal hospital went above and beyond to ensure that all necessary arrangements were made, including providing the necessary vaccinations and paperwork for the flight. I highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone in need of compassionate and professional care for their pets.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this vet. Everyone here is so sweet, caring and patient. They all shower my puppy with love every time we come to visit. They are also easy to get in touch with and open to making urgent visits if necessary.

I would say their prices for services would be average for this area. However, you can walk out knowing that they are not taking advantage of your love for your pet unlike other local vets.

They got me in the next day and everyone I encountered couldn’t have been friendlier. They are organized, professional, and my dog received excellent care. Additionally, my parents took their dog here and were very happy. I was present when we had to say goodbye to her. Little in this world is tougher to do. Again, everyone who worked with us was wonderful and didn’t add any extra complication to a hard situation. Highly recommend and I’m happy to have a trusted vet if needed whenever I’m in town. They made sure we knew what to expect and all the info we needed to help in her rehab time. It's been an emotional upsetting time, but the staff were wonderfully kind, caring, and patient. Experiencia negativa: I don’t know how they have so many positive reviews. I have taken four animals there regularly - I always told them to make sure they have all shots etc. at every check up. When I took my pets to a groomer, groomers called their office and none of them had all the updated shots! The final straw was when one of my animals had an emergency and they could have cared less (with four animals as clients in the past) and told me to go to my primary vet. They were the primary vet! Also receptionists always rude or give misleading info so check bills! I just don’t trust that they truly cared about my animals and I really question the “reviews”.

Experiencia fantástica: In summary, my dog and I had a great experience at West Suburban Animal Hospital and I would highly recommend them. I was very impressed with how I didn't feel rushed AT ALL, and I really felt like all their attention was on us, even when talking to the surgeon. They were very organized and friendy, we had no long waits, and they went out of their way to accommodate my situation. They were very gentle and friendly, and they talked to my dog and interacted with her as if they already knew and liked her. My dog was rescued from abuse and has trust issues that require a muzzle when being restrained by several strangers, and they didn't act standoffish or afraid like people at other vet office have. They were confident and comfortable that they knew exactly how to handle her, AND they didn't hold it against her at all. That was a first and it REALLY meant a lot to me because at other offices they instantly backed away from her and treated her like "one of *THOSE* dogs..." . My dog had her surgery, and I had no doubts she was receiving great care. Read on for details. My dog was diagnosed with a torn CCL at the vet we see close to home. She needed TPLO surgery and their ortho surgeon was booked for a couple months. I took the soonest appointment I could get, and they prescribed a pain med. I did not like that my dog was going to have to hop around on 3 legs and take pain pills for 2 months, so I called another vet near my home to see if I could get her in sooner. That vet office didn't do this type of surgery (apparently there are only a few ortho surgeons in the area) and they told me that West Suburban Animal Hospital does, so I called them. The woman who answered was VERY helpful, empathetic, patient, kind, and she knew the answer to every question I had. They were also booked out a couple months but their next opening was a couple weeks sooner than the other appointment, so I booked it and she said she would let me know if they had a cancelation. Two or three days later, she called to tell me they had a cancelation for the following Tuesday!! They already had all of my dogs records and xray from the first vet, and she scheduled us for a Monday consult and Tuesday surgery. At the consult, the surgeon was very personable and patient as he examined my dog, explained everything to me, and answered my questions. Since this office is a bit of a drive from my home and surgery was just 16 hours away, they gave me the option to leave her there overnight at no charge. Early the next morning I received a text message with picture of my girl saying she had a good night and was getting ready for surgery. As soon as surgery was over, they called to let me know everything went great and she was in post-op recovery. Then I got another text about arranging pickup, and we went back and forth a few times because I was working on getting a family member to go get her sooner than I could. The morning after surgery they called to check on us. They emailed lots of information and instructions for the 8-week recovery period, and they were VERY thorough and clear and answered every question I could possibly have so I knew exactly what to do and expect. It has been 5 days since surgery and she is recovering well, and I haven't had to call them with a question even once. (By the way, we were texting because I had selected it as my preferred method of communication, so if you're not a texter, no worries). I wish they were closer to my home, and I wouldn't hesitate to take my dog to them again.

Extremely professional, competent, treated us like we were the only thing that mattered, well trained to direct us on the best care plan and they clearly love what they do. Cyrus was very loved and cared for and received the best care we could get for him anywhere around! Never a place anyone really wants to have to go to but when you need specialty care for your pet, WSAH melted our hearts with the care our guy got!

Experiencia fantástica: We were referred to West Suburban for our dogs ACL surgery (which turned into both knees within 6 months). They were great with communication, thourough, friendly, and competent. Both knees healed up well and our 4 year old Staffie got back to running like he was never hurt (both times). Veterinarian care is not cheap but it is worth it. The price quotes were accurate and helped us to plan for the cost before insurance reimbursement (we have pet insurance for $25 a month on our dog).

Experiencia fantástica: INCREDIBLE, PHENOMENAL, CARING, AND SO PROFESSIONAL! I work at another vet office approximately 2 hours away and one of my coworkers suggested WSAH after Dr. Thompson had performed bilateral TPLO on her dog. Mobility is always an issue when you have a large dog, but after a CCL tear, you see their muscle wasting, their pain, and the change in their demeanor, and it breaks your heart. Dr. Thompson and the entire staff at WSAH can put that all in the past. Within days post surgery you will see glimpses of your playful pet. This group of amazing people knows what it takes to be professional, but at the same time, they welcome you and your pet into their family with their little gestures of pictures and messages. By far, the best decision I have ever made for my Ripley, and I will most definitely send them referrals. I just can't put into words how greatful I am. Experiencia fantástica: To be honest, I was a little skeptical that the surgery would fix our dog. She was basically putting no weight on her knee. Four year old Rottweiler. And even the first couple weeks after the surgery, I was still nervous. However, the doctor reassured me. Everything would be great. And he was right. Our dog is 100%. I couldn’t be happier. The recovery is the most important part about the surgery and I would highly recommend anyone go to this doctor. He is amazing. Follow recovery instructions and your dog will be back to 100%.

My dog can get nervous, so I really appreciate the amount of space and how it's never packed with people/pets. They do a great job of getting people in rooms as soon as possible. Experiencia fantástica: I came home from a work trip to find my dog in need of an immediate vet visit. We had been using West Toledo Animal Hospital, but I was so frantic I accidentally called West Suburban instead. The receptionist was confused when she couldn’t find us in their system, but she was super nice about it when I realized my mistake, and scheduled my dog in right away even though she wasn’t an existing patient. It actually worked out great because West Suburban is much closer to my home. The staff was super nice and accommodating when we got to the office. My dog is reactive and they arranged for me to bring her in the back entrance so there wouldn’t be a ruckus. They fit us in in between other appointments and even though I assume the doctor was very busy, she took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my dog, what the treatment would be, and what I could expect going forward. The charges for the visit were reasonable and they fit us in for a followup visit as well. West Suburban will be our vet of choice for future care.

They don’t try to gouge you for every nickle like the VCA vets. Reasonably priced, great care and they don’t trying to upsell you on vitamins and herbal treatments, etc.

They took excellent care of my dog from check in to check out, even if he was a handful. It is a long drive for us, but I wouldn't hesitate to take my dog there for all his medical needs. The receptionists and nurses are all very sweet to our boxer Chloe and took very good care of her when we took her to be spayed. With checkups and other procedures, they’re very transparent about their costs. They answered happily and quickly to all of our questions pre and post op. They made numerous calls to us after surgery to check up on Chloe and even sent her a get well card in the mail. They’re all very thoughtful and I’ve never had service like this with my previous boxers.

Experiencia fantástica: This may be the second review but not certain the first one posted. We took our boy, Toby, to West Suburban Animal Hospital for TPLO surgery. Toby had been diagnosed with a CCL tear by our family Vet, and we started the search for a provider that we would trust. After an exhaustive search that considered online provider reviews, patient/family comments, phone calls to each of the facilities, and how long it would take before surgery could be done, we made the decision to use Dr. Gary Thompson and the team at West Suburban. It was, without a doubt, the best decision. When we took Toby in for the initial consult, it was clear that Dr. Thompson realized how important our pets are to all of us. He affectionately referred to pets as "the kids" and "our kids", and we knew immediately that our decision had been the right one. Surgery was scheduled for the next morning and we had to leave Toby overnight because we had to travel the next morning to Cleveland. It cause us a bit of distress, but that was alleviated in the morning when the staff at West Suburban sent us a picture of Toby in the morning before he was being prepared for surgery. He looked calm and in good hands. The West Suburban team stayed in touch with us throughout the day. The surgery was successful and we picked him up later that day. That was 8 days ago. During those 8 days, Toby has started showing significant improvement and his recovery appears to be on track. Although there are 7 weeks of home rehabilitation remaining (very simple for the average dog owner...simply leash walking in the beginning and some stair and ramp walking at the end), it certainly appears that all will go well. We can not recommend Dr. Thompson and the West Suburban team more highly. We had spent several days reviewing possible providers in SE and Mid-Michigan as well as NW Ohio (as we live in Adrian). It quickly became clear that it would be West Suburban based on the reviews and Dr. Thompson's qualifications and credentials. They were by far the most responsive, the most timely in terms of scheduling, the most communicative when we were searching, and, although it would not have driven the decision had the other considerations not supported it, the least expensive by a significant amount. Toby continues to do well. He has adjusted to the cone (although it freaks his brothers out a bit...haha), will have a virtual check-in next week and a final visit in 7 weeks. Toby's 4 pawed brothers are anxious to have him back to normal as are his two dads. It certainly feels that this is going to happen. Thank your Dr. Thompson and West Suburban.

They understand the need of the family as a whole and treat you as such. The quality of vet care that my fur baby received was far above what we expected. The Doctor took his time with our baby and explained everything in full detail. The pricing is reasonable and the medical care is top notch and advanced. All staff that we encountered were so nice. The facility is one of the cleanest I've seen. I received a text as soon as my boy was out of surgery (not automated, I was texting with one of the girls) along with the text they had emailed all paperwork and even included the post op xray for my files. Well worth the just iver 2 hours it took to get there!
