Experiencia negativa: I took my very sick cat in, I had a good fund me set up and I couldn't get the money transferred onto my account fast enough, they refused to see us unless we had $165 dollars. My cat died on the way home from their over priced hell hole. You had better be loaded $$ if you want your pet to be seen. But hey they have a continental breakfast/snack counter set up. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was hit by a car and my husband and I went into an immediate panic mode on where to take our girl. As I had bad experiences with the ER on Kingston pike that was the last resort. So we acted fast and saw this vet opened and we decided to take our girl here. The nurses and doctor on site helped us and were so kind to not only my baby but to my husband and I! They soothed us in this horrifying situation. I would definitely recommend this place!

Experiencia fantástica: I had one of the most traumatic days of my adult life as my cat died on the way to the vet. The staff at this vet office handled everything with such care, and treated us with the utmost empathy throughout this process. They allowed us time with him to grieve, and when we were ready they gave us options. They even made us a clay pawprint and took some of his fur and put it in a little vial for us. I'll never forget this day for several reasons, the biggest one being the death of our boy, but I will always remember the kindness shown to us by this vet office we'd never been to before. Thank you ladies, truly.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE IF THEY ARE SUPER SICK. My sister brought her dog here and they said the dog had parvo. She gave them all the money she had. 1200 dollars. They only gave fluids and denied antibiotics unless she could come up with thousands more. They sent Her pet home dying and aspirating. He died very shortly after. After paying 1200 to do nothing but demand more money the least they could do is offer to cremate.

They cared for our dog, Temperance, overnight during a very scary emergency and kept her stable until she was well enough to come home. Every single person we interacted with was kind, patient, and genuinely compassionate. The staff took the time to explain what was happening, answered our questions, and treated Temperance with so much care. During a stressful and emotional situation, they made us feel supported and informed every step of the way. We were also appreciative that the costs were clearly explained and reasonable for the level of emergency and overnight care she received, which helped reduce stress during an already difficult time. Experiencia fantástica: Two nights before Christmas, my dog Patch decided to give me a full-on panic attack by getting into a bag of chocolate. He ate four Toblerones, a bag of M&Ms, a bag of Hershey Kisses, a bag of white chocolate peppermint Kisses, and a bag of his dog treats. Patch is a big guy (116 lbs), which probably worked in his favor, but he started throwing up repeatedly and we knew it was time to take him in. I am so grateful we did. The staff was incredibly patient, kind, and wonderful with Patch. They took the time to come out to the lobby and clearly explain what was going on, which I really appreciated during such a stressful situation. Since he was already vomiting, they didn’t try to induce anything further—instead, they gave him an injection for nausea and sent us home with medication to help him recover. They were knowledgeable, calm, and reassuring, and most importantly, they did not try to oversell services—they treated the issue at hand and did what was truly necessary for Patch. That honesty means a lot. If you ever have an emergency with your fur baby, this is a place you can trust. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of Patch (and us).

Experiencia negativa: Brought my 7 month old kitten here on Christmas Day because my vet wasn’t open and I didn’t see any super alarming reviews but my whole experience was horrific. I called ahead of time because my cat swallowed part of a hairtie and they said I needed to come in immediately to prevent a blockage, so I did. When I got there, it took at least 30 minutes for them to take her to an exam room (which wouldn’t normally be a big deal, I’m sure they’re busy, but they had expressed how urgent it was that my cat be brought in immediately). They gave her a mild sedative to induce vomiting and when that didn’t work, I was told by the doctor that they had strapped my 7 month old kitten to a chair and spun her around to make her motion sick and induce vomiting that way (she said that it “may sound cruel” but this method “is in their handbook so it’s fine to do”). I was horrified as soon as I heard that and maybe it’s normal for that to be done but it would have been very nice to have been asked permission to do something so traumatic to my kitten! (I would have absolutely said “no thank you” and waited for her to vomit at home) I was then told that the amount of hairtie she ate would likely pass on its own out one end or another, making me seriously question the necessity of strapping my cat down and spinning her without asking me first. When I got her back a couple hours and $300 later (after no success with making her vomit) she came off the sedatives and hissed and growled at me for the first time ever. I’ve had her since she was 3 weeks old and she’s had plenty of unpleasant and painful vet visits, all of which she’s cuddled up to me for comfort after. This was the worse vet experience I’ve ever had, I will not be returning and will most definitely be warning anyone who asks about the experience I had.

If your vet refers you here and doesn't pay their part, you will be held responsible for it. Even though I was told otherwise. (From a year ago mind you). After wasting an hour of waiting to be told I "owe" when I absolutely do not, I will now have to find another place to take my poor cat. I will not be returning here.

Experiencia fantástica: I visited this emergency vet on Christmas morning to put my 21-year-old cat to sleep. Although it was busy and the wait was about 1hr, the staff was incredible. They allowed me to wait in the car with her to reduce her stress and came to get us when they were ready. We were brought straight to a private room, they took her for a brief exam, and the vet came in shortly after to handle everything. Everyone was extremely kind and understanding, especially considering they were working on a holiday. I am very grateful for this service because it meant I did not have to watch my cat suffer.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought our beloved cat late Monday night for a possible blocked urinary tract. They were so kind, informative, and helpful from start to finish. They completed the procedure that night and I was able to pick him up the next morning and transport him to another facility for 24 hour monitoring. They even gave me a larger crate since he had to be transported with a catheter bag. They were transparent with pricing and I felt like their fees were a fair cost. Experiencia fantástica: My sweet baby boy Axel had been dealing with cancer and his health took a turn early am Monday. Knoxville Pet Emergency Cinic's staff took such great care of us both showing such patience and kindness. I was able to make cremation arrangements for him while there. They also offer clay paw prints. I declined this service. He has crossed the rainbow bridge and is no longer in pain. Yet, I have many more tears to shed. I would also like to compliment the clinics appearance so clean, neat and no smells! Actually, there were snacks and water available in the waiting area. I didn't inquire, but I believe they were free. This emergency clinic has been around for years, and has always been there for people in Knoxville to help sick/injured pets. It is more expensive than your normal vet, but you need to take in consideration the specialty of the services. Thank you to the wonderful staff.

Experiencia fantástica: First I want to say that I rarely ever leave reviews but I feel like they really deserve it! The staff and vet were very kind and compassionate. We brought our dog in last night for a swollen paw and limping. They did X-rays, gave fluids due to an elevated temperature, antibiotics and gave pain meds, antibiotics and anti-inflammatories to take home. The swelling in our dog’s paw has already gone down and he is walking. I feel like they were reasonably priced considering it’s an emergency vet. They had snacks and water in the waiting room which is nice if you end up being there a long time. We’re from Blount County and our emergency vet closed years ago.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give lower rating I would had to take my dog out before they killed him !!, we fired an employee for drug use and the dog got hold of a bag he had and come to find out it was fentanyl, oxycodone and mada and the vet didn’t know anything I had to call a vet poison center pay them 100 dollars to tell vet how to treat and after that vet wanted to give my dog a sedative, common sense would tell you with that kind of drug a sedative would have killed him and they don’t care one bit about animals , it’s just a paycheck to them I was shocked and disgusted and a bunch of other things so please just call UT veterinary services they cover all animals and have overnight Megan’s vet , don’t let your animals suffer at the hands of these heartless people, I will be reporting the vet on duty to the certification board along with other agencies, this should be considered malpractice and even animal cruelty that they let my dog suffer over an hour because they don’t know what to do , but I do know what to do I love animals and I’m going to make sure this clinic is outed in the news and make sure they pay !!

I brought my dog in who had got into 100% cacao powder & I was in a panic. When I arrived, they made sure to take him into the back right away so they could make him throw up. They didn’t even make him wait upfront, so for that I super appreciated. I dealt with a lot of help & a lot of compassion. I was crying because it seemed like I wouldn’t be able to afford everything my sweet dog needed. But they helped him & worked my budget into it, & I am forever grateful. I hope I never need to go back to the ER vet, but if I do, this is where I will go. Thank you so much to everyone here.

Experiencia fantástica: It's never a good time when you have to go to an Emergency Clinic, but KPEC made it as positive an experience as I could have hoped. My pregnant ridgeback needed assistance to kickstart her contractions. Even though we arrived late on a Saturday night (9:30pm) and did not leave until 10:30 or noon the following day, the facility got us in and immediately went to work. They were the perfect combination of positive/friendly and direct/quick/laying out the next immediate actions to safely get these puppies delivered. The staff along with Dr. Neelie Rapien were excellent! I will say it was helpful having my sister there who helped deliver puppies and assist vet techs as needed. But, wow, it was just an all around positive experience. They promptly addressed any questions I had throughout the night and assisted us through this process with professionalism. All of this was very much appreciated as in stressful times like this, emotions can be all sorts of wonky. KPEC provided a courtesy call a couple days after discharge which was unexpected and greatly appreciated! It really shows the heart and care that back the people at this facility. Thank you 1000 times over for your care and help you provided to our inaugural litter at Activity Hut Ridgebacks! We are blessed to have 5 puppies that are now almost 2 weeks old and doing very well! I hope those who helped that night enjoy the photos/video below. I'm never active on social, but have been posting regularly for this litter if you want to follow along! Experiencia negativa: We took our dog in this afternoon for a leg injury. They were rude and talked about money more than helping her. The vet basically told us our dog is fat and 9 years old and we should put her down. Very unprofessional, cruel and only wanted us to pay more and more. $160 to tell us our dog is fat and old. Marla does have thyroid problems, which she’s treated for!! She’s healthy other than that! I left upset, anxious and determined to spread the word. PLEASE DON’T TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE!!! Our vet laughed when we called him at home to tell them what the emergency clinic vet told us.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We rushed our dog here at 9 PM on a Tuesday night as he was extremely sick, vomiting and passing bright red blood, unable to keep even water down. We were the second people in line, yet for hours he wasn’t even triaged, while other animals that came in after us were taken back immediately. I told the front desk I’d be outside on the grass with him so he wouldn’t be throwing up and bleeding all over their waiting area, and still… nothing. 3 Hours went by before they finally brought us into a room around midnight. A nurse came in, took his leash, said something about a tech exam, and came back handing me the leash again without saying a single word. No update, no communication, nothing. Another nurse came an hour later saying she needed to take him for his doctor exam, and I finally had to stop her and ask what was even going on. Only then did she explain that they’d done a tech exam already and they need to do a doctor exam— after two different people handled my dog without even telling us what they were doing. This is the last time we saw him before he was discharged. When the doctor finally came in (talking a mile a minute), she mentioned the scariest things dog owners could hope wouldn’t happen like obstruction and bloat, and said he needed fluids, sedation, and X-rays right away. We agreed to the fluids and X-rays, but said no sedation because my dog has a bad reaction to it in the past and he was already so weak. Around 1:30 AM, they told us the X-rays showed no obstruction nor showed bloat just “severe GI upset.” But guess what? By 6:00 AM, they still hadn’t started anything. They blew three of my dog’s veins, shaved three of his legs, and left him bruised and swollen before finally starting the fluids. We didn’t get him back until 7:45 AM, after being charged $1,200 for what the doctor said, “Your dog is weird, I’m not going to overthink it — we’re calling it severe GI upset.” To make things worse, she questioned us when I mentioned my sister-in-law is a vet (she just lives farther away), implied we were lying, called my dog fat (he’s perfectly healthy for his breed), and claimed he had air in his lungs and a possible mass. My vet reviewed everything later — no mass, no obstruction, no lung issues, nothing. It honestly felt like they cared more about the bill than my dog. The lack of compassion, communication, and urgency was disgusting. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. I wouldn’t trust this place with a stuffed animal, let alone a real one. Second people in the lobby, last ones to leave. Go to one of the other two options in Knoxville.

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend this animal hospital. Our kitty was vomiting, lethargic and in a lot of pain. The entire staff- from the front desk to the doctor- was so incredibly nurturing. & Dr. Debusk was absolutely amazing- she genuinely cared about our kitty and thoughtfully walked us through every diagnostic tool and all the potential outcomes. It was a very emotional night, but we were so grateful we chose Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic for care. & we’ve already recommended to friends.

Experiencia positiva: They were great at communicating. The wait was a little long but that is because the Dr had a complication in the surgery that she was doing in another patient. I loved that they communicated with our puppy’s vet the next morning. The meds that the Dr prescribed helped tremendously. Our puppy is doing a lot better.

And kept me informed about what they were doing along the treatments. I felt my dog was well taken care of. And they gave me options of what to do for her treatment plan. I would take her back there if I needed to.

My husband and I are deaf and that doesn’t stop the conversations between us and the nurses there. Once I told them we are deaf, she pulled out pen and paper and started writing back and forth. That was very nice to see she wasn’t afraid or hesitate to communicate with us. It was quick visit and affordable to my surprise! In past we took our other dogs to emergency animal hospital in West Knoxville, it went over a thousand dollars quickly so I was impressed with this place overall and will come back to this place for sure! I can tell the doctor that saw Moose has been doing her job a long time and I appreciated her breaking down everything she noticed with him. I had her at another animal hospital on the western side of town who quoted me $8,000.00 to do the surgery. I called KPE damn near in tears. They were so helpful they calmed me down 1st had me bring Sway my dog in. They did the surgery for considerably less and saved Sways life. I'm forever grateful for this team of wonderful people! They were non-stop busy that night, yet, they never stopped going nor did they let any animal not get the same equal amount of care and treatment. While the expense was unexpected, I’m thankful to know the money I had to spend went to a clinic that actually found the issue and handled my pup with care and the utmost compassion. Experiencia negativa: We found a dog beside the road on Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, and carefully placed it on a piece of cardboard to carry to our truck. You could tell it had broken bones. We gently put her onto a blanket and drove her to this emergency vet. We had to leave her outside for 30 minutes because nobody would come and get her. When the assistant came out, finally, to carry the poor dog in, instead of carefully carrying her in because she was so injured, she grabbed her up under her 2 front legs and hurt the dog worse, causing it to nip at her. She tossed the dog back into the bed of the truck and picked her up the same way again and lugged her into the building. She did not seem to care about the little dog. We would definitely not advise anyone to go here if they can’t train their employees to be more compassionate.

Experiencia fantástica: First time visiting this past Saturday evening with our 8-year-old heeler/terrier mix, and we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left three hours later. The blonde front desk staff member (also an EMT, though I didn’t catch her name) was so friendly and even offered to help my husband with a minor hand injury from earlier. Dr. Neelie and Shawna were amazing with our boy, treating him with such care and love while also being incredibly communicative and reassuring with us. They updated us throughout his procedure (he was put under so they could wash and examine his right eye), offered to trim his nails while he was under (bless them), and answered all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed or like a burden. Every staff member we interacted with was patient, kind, and understanding, which is exactly what you need in a stressful moment with your pet. I highly recommend this emergency clinic!

The other patrons made the time pass and the staff was hustling hard. They were compassionate to those who lost animals, understanding to those who had questions, and patient and kind with me. Experiencia negativa: My cat became lethargic but was still eating and drinking normally. It was Friday afternoon, so I took her to Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic. The vet wanted to euthanize her without doing any lab work first. I guess a routine blood test that takes up to half an hour would have been too much for my cat? This was after my cat waited in the lobby for a couple of hours to be seen. The vet seemed used to euthanizing animals. While I was sitting in the lobby, I saw three couples go into the vet office, only to have their pets euthanized.

Experiencia negativa: I WILL NEVER TAKE MY BABY BACK TO THIS SORRY PLACE !!! THEY DISCRIMINATE, THEYRE RUDE AND VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL !!!!! I honestly dont even know HOW they even get business and I cant understand how tht business is open ! These people are HORRIBLE PEOPLE !! Idk how or why 2 of them there still have a job there after how they treat and speak to people!!! I STRINGLY ADVISE ANY AND EVERYBODY NOT TO TAKE THEIR BABIES THERE !!!!

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our buddy that night, but throughout the whole process we felt nothing but supported in the tough decisions we had to make, and confident in the care our pup received. Reception staff, vet techs, and Dr. K, we are so grateful for the guiding light you provided for us during those dark moments. In the weeks following, they have continued to stay in contact and taken care to ensure the whole process was completed right. Hopefully this review can provide some reassurance to anyone else who finds themselves frantically looking for somewhere to help their sick baby in the middle of the night. You will be well taken care of.

Experiencia fantástica: Hello Thank you so much for helping my beautiful kitty cat Callie I was visiting your beautiful state to say goodbye to my great Mother who passed last Wednesday at the hotel my Callie trying to jump up on the bed fell and injured both her back legs she was crying and howling at 3 am and I Thank God that I found Knoxville pet emergency open 24 hours they were the best caring for my Callie I cannot Thank you enough with the medication that was given to her she was out of pain in 2 hours and the 12 hour drive home to new jersey was quiet and peaceful I Thank the overnight doctor and and the overnight staff for all your help I appreciate all of you and God Bless you all Always Daniel Havlik

Experiencia negativa: Once again this clinic proves to be inefficient and over priced. I brought my pup in just before 6am today. Waited an hour and a half to be seen by the 7a shift change vet. Only to find out the charges would be over $800. My puppy was presenting bloody diarrhea to I suspected giardia or some other bacteria or virus which they could have checked and ruled out quickly before having to put him through X-rays and a battery of tests. Those are inhouse tests that take less than 45 mins for results. Ridiculous I had to wait all that time with a puppy to have zero help for my pup. Waste of time, puts my dog in more health jeopardy, and still charged me $160 for nothing! And there was one other client there...they weren't busy. It's unfortunate Central Vet clinic still refers customers to this ER clinic because it does not align with the efficient and excellent service Central provides. I've told them before it's not good business to partner with another clinic that does not match their service or professionalism. Do not take your pets to the Knoxville ER on Ailor Ave. It will be disappointing and poor service and extremely over priced even for an ER. There will never be a third trip to this ER and there are plenty of good ones.

Experiencia negativa: I went there tonight my dog was in pain due to an an ear infection whoever the blonde hair vet tech was she was rude met us in the hall way looked at my dog and said it was a hematoma I work in the medical field and knew right off the she didn’t know what she was even talking about….instantly she said looked at me at said it was about Money and said they were closed!!! We were able To walk in and another patient was able to be seen a few weeks ago we brought her in she said my dog looked like she tore her acl which I took her to her primary vet and it turned out To be a fracture her attitude and bed side manner towards me is given she didn’t want to treat my Dog any other time I’ve been there we have been seen and been treated very well but twice this doctor or whomever she is has treated me like crap and less than I’ve paid my vet bills with no issue but it’s like she is racist or just doesn’t want to Do her job but left tonight and went To where she told me to go my dog DOESNT HAVE A HEMATOMA WHICH SHE LOOKED AT IN THE HALLWAY DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO TAKE US IN A ROOM SHE HAS A EAR INFECTION AND HAS BEEN TREATED WITH THE UPMOST RESPECT AND BEST TREATMENT AND MONEY DIDNT MATTER I PAID WELL OVER 600 for her visit and she is in great hands but I wish I could get her bosses number and report her because the way I was treated tonight was outright horrible and rude!!! THE SECURITY OFFICER SHOWED MORE CONCERN AND RESPECT THAN SHE DID AND THAT SAYS ALOT!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I had to take my baby in when she hurt her front leg. She gets aggressive at the vet so we had to sedate her. The amount of compassion and understanding Dr Neelie and the assistants (I believe it was Taygen and Mackenzie) had for my girl made this hard process so much easier for me. Because of her aggressiveness at my regular vet, they usually throw their hands up in the air and won’t help. I wish this vet ran an establishment that was not only emergency so I could bring my dogs to her. I received so much knowledge/answers about other things going on with my dog that Dr Neelie took the time to look over her thoroughly and explain and answer all of my questions. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!! Expect a bit of a wait, as with any after hour establishments…. But your animal will be treated as their own and you can’t find that just anywhere.

It was after normal vet hours, so ERvet was our only option. Dr. Neelie gave us great advice on what we could do that was affordable to help the dog. Very laid back, not judgmental (because seriously I wondered how we managed to overlook the issue to the place we were at currently, so...‍♀️) the rest of the staff were also sweet and helpful. Overall, we highly recommend using them if needed!!

Experiencia fantástica: Late one Sunday afternoon and evening, our 12 year old cocker spaniel started having seizures. We were very alarmed as she has always been healthy. We called our local vet and was connected to Knoxville Emergency Veterinary. We took our girl immediately and upon arrival was met by a young lady that rushed our girl straight back to the exam room. We found everyone very caring and kind. We felt our little girl was in good hands right from beginning to end.

Experiencia fantástica: We couldn’t have asked for better care of our dog that suffered a venomous snake bite late one night. We called the facility in route to advise that our dog would likely need anti-venom based on the amount of swelling and bruising that he quickly endured just after being bitten. We drove over an hour to the facility and they were ready to accept him upon our arrival. The front office staff was kind and informative, and Dr. Neely spoke to us in private to advise of the options, prognosis, and the cost of our dogs care. She followed up with a phone call two days later to check on his progress. I hope I don’t have to visit the clinic for any future emergencies but grateful for their care and professionalism.

Experiencia positiva: I went to KPEC on a hunch because my cat was continuously vomiting. I called multiple places with long waits but they told me to bring her in right away and fit me in on a Friday night. Although I had to wait a bit to get checked in the staff assured me that they would take her back to start the exam. Dr Neelie was very attentive to concerns and even took me back to look at the prognosis and explain X-rays in detail. The staff also let me know ahead of time costs and made sure I was comfortable with what they were recommending. I felt that the staff kept me informed although I couldn’t be with my baby. They were packed with emergency cases but as I waited I got reassurance and updates. Once I took my cat for follow up appointments I did receive negative feedback that treatment received was not needed but I felt cared for and comforted in a time of panic. I even heard them celebrating once my cat defecated as they had suggested this is what was causing her pain. I would recommend KPEC as they treated my cat with love and attentiveness.

We called ahead to ask what we should do, and they told us it was ultimately our decision—but if it was a lot of blood, they recommended coming in. So we headed there as quickly as we could. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, and they took him back right away. I was obviously freaking out—seeing that much blood was terrifying—but the staff took such great care of my baby and helped us figure out what was causing it. Not only were they kind and reassuring to me, but they were also incredibly gentle and loving with my dog. They treated him like he was their own, speaking to him softly and comforting him through every step. That meant so much to me. Everyone was absolutely amazing, especially for it being the middle of the night. Their kindness and calm, clear process helped me leave feeling at peace. One thing I really appreciated was that they walked me through the cost of everything before doing any procedures. Most vets don’t do that—they just hand you the bill afterward. Special thanks to Dr. Neelie and the wonderful assistants, Lacy and Brooke. You all truly made a scary night feel manageable. Thank you for your compassion and for loving my pup when he needed it most.

I took her to KPEC and she was seen within 10 minutes of arriving. The doctor was wonderful and reassuring. She told me what meds I would need from my vet to keep the costs down. I’d definitely recommend.

They were friendly, saw her immediately, and very compassionate. I appreciated that although Dr. Kerri Debusk was very busy she took her time explaining my pets care and making me feel that my pet was safe, cared for, and was going to be okay. Shout out to Brooke who’s in vet school! You did a great job. Also, Thank you to everyone who was in the back that I did not get to see because I know my cat is spicy and can have murder mittens! She ended up having a condition that could have killed her if they didn’t move as quick as they did. I’m so thankful they took such good care of her! When I picked her up Tuesday morning I could tell she was feeling better. Now you would never know she was as sick as she was. Thank you to the team again!

Experiencia negativa: I took my dog there almost 2 weeks ago. After a couple days, I requested a refund for the exam fee because they weren’t right about her issue and didn’t give her a proper exam. The vet tried to tell me several reasons for her bathroom issue, one reason was a back problem. When I went to the normal vet, I told them what they said and they laughed and said that was definitely not the reason. They gave her a couple of different medications and now she is back to normal. I waited for 3 hours in this ER clinic for an improper exam and no reason or correct solutions for my dogs issues. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I took her there and I have yet to receive the refund I requested. I’m highly disappointed and don’t recommend this place. It was a total waste of my time and money. I will update back here if they do the right thing and refund me my $160 for an improper exam.

Experiencia fantástica: We had to take our cat in on Sunday because he was having difficulty breathing. I called ahead of time to let them know why was going on. As soon as we got there with him, they took him straight in and placed him into an oxygen chamber. They face him a couple of shots after some X-rays to check his lungs. They diagnosed him with asthma and not upper repair infection like I thought he had. We went him and about 7 hours later, he was back to struggling to breathe and worse than earlier. I was so scared he would die on the way as he was gasping for air through his mouth. I called them to let them know we were on the way. They were really just (Sunday night at 1a.m.) so this time it took a few minutes, but they got him back into the oxygen tank again. They did more X-rays, checked out his heart, and told us it was still asthma and that he may have a small heart murmur. His breathing was regulated after we left 8 hours later. The second trip was very long. My kids were with me and 2 of 3 finally fell asleep in their seats at 7 a.m. definitely bring something to do. We had tablets and chargers and books to read. It also got a bit cold in the room so you may want a blanket or jacket if you get cold easily. They do have water and crackers on hand because the wait can be long. It was $160 to walk in the door which was cheaper than other ER’s. The price for the 3 injections we received and the X-rays were reasonable for an ER vet. We weren’t charged for the oxygen which was a nice surprise. I thought that would be pricey. We got in and out with $710 spent for both visits. It too bad for an emergency room visit. I expected worse to be honest. I also like that if anything goes wrong within 24 hours after you leave, they do not charge you the $160 to come back. If you need other things like more meds, ultrasound, etc you will have to pay for those of course. The only thing that was kind of hard is being park because once your pet is stable, if any other pets come in with emergency status they will be taken care of as top priority so you could be there for quite a while like we were the second time. It is not a complaint from me, but I know there were others who were getting mad because they had to wait when they were not a priority anymore. Yea that is tough but you have to put yourself in the other pet owners shoes who may have come in with a dog who was hit by a car and needs life saving surgery at that moment. The staff was SUPER kind! They are also super apologetic about wait times and they thanked us abundantly for our patience when we finally left after the sun had been up for several hours. It made me feel bad for them because I could tell they are truly worried about having people wait so long. And it is probably out of fear of people being mean to them. So please go in with patience. They did an amazing job and they truly care about the pets they are trying to help. I will definitely use them in the future if we need them (hopefully we don’t). Also don’t use pet baking soda carpet fresheners with heavy scents on your carpets. We are pretty sure that is what sent out cat into his breathing problems. Just use a steam cleaner. We took him to our vet and she also said he most likely has a touch of asthma and the carpet powder and the dusty litter that we had switched to (trying to save a few extra dollars) probably triggered his asthma. Publix cat litter is the least dusty litter out there and we have switched back to it & he is doing so much better now! I could even tell a difference because of how black my ac filters were turning with using Walmart brand litter. Publix litter does not do that.

We were amazed at the courteous and professional manner in which treatment was provided for our beloved pet. We want to give a big shout-out to Taygen Marlowe who was calm and reassuring throughout. Dr. Sandra Kreceman was exceptional in her examination and counsel. Overall, our visit there was pleasant and informative in every aspect. We highly recommend KPEC for anyone needing emergency care.

Everything was explained to me by patient staff and funds were discussed before procedures were started. Definitely recommend for dog or cat emergency.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't comment on the negative reviews other than to say I'm sorry things didn't work out satisfactorily, and / or sorry for your loss ....I did read numerous reviews, but it was my best option to use KPEC. My Ivy, a 3 1/2 yr old Chocolate Lab was bitten by a Timber Rattler in the evening on Friday 5/2.. It was about 1:00am Saturday morning before we could get there. She was a very sick little girl. Yes, it was expensive. Yes, I had to agree to charges up front. But, I can guarantee you, my regular vet would been no less expensive, and would have required exactly the same agreements up front. My Ivy is the best thing I have left on this planet and she means everything to me.... What I found at the clinic was people who were kind, friendly, caring, and compassionate. In the middle of the night they were there for us. They saved her life. On Sunday morning, they took us back in for a retest on her blood levels to assure the anitvenin had worked, and her levels had returned to normal. the only thing they charged us was the blood retest,, no office charges, no additional exam fees. When it was all said and done, they emailed us a 9 page report of diagnosis, test results, treatment, medications administered, and another copy of the discharge notes and ongoing care....... I don't get that from my regular vet .... To Dr. Neelie, Dr. Kreceman, and all the girls on staff who helped us, I can only Thank You from the bottom of my heart. If I could make you all my regular vet, I would. I have 0% hesitation and 100% confidence KPEC has our pets best interests at heart in an emergency.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a very sick cat that I have had for most of her life that I had to do the hard thing to. She was my best friend and I am extremely torn up but the people there were so patient with me even though they were incredibly busy and it was Easter. They gave me the time I needed to have and were incredibly understanding with what I was going through. They asked the right questions to help me remember how much I loved my cat and helped me understand I was doing the right thing. Also I want to mention that someone came to the door just to ask if they had any water and they gave them more than what was asked of them. They gave them three bottles and some crackers. The people working there that day are amazing and I am so grateful for them. I want to make sure they know that they were all wonderful and I tried to rush because I knew they needed the room but I am so glad they gave me the time I needed.

Our sweet 9.5 year old boxer was completely fine, until she became super lethargic and collapsed in my arms, just outside the emergency pet clinic. Dr. Rapien explained everything in great detail with what was going on with our girl, with the sincerest care in her voice. It was a terrible night for several others as well, and she still took the time to go over everything thoroughly. We got to bring our girl home and let the kids say their goodbyes, and it was the most peaceful morning. We came back and Dr. Krecemen helped her over the rainbow bridge, with no pain or suffering. We were in awe that 2 cards of condolence were sent to us, following Piper’s passing. We can’t thank you enough again for your kindness and compassion. We recommend this place, this staff, and the DVM’s a thousand percent.

Experiencia negativa: I took my dog to this place due to vomiting and not eating . A female vet saw my dog and ordered labs as well as X-rays. We were told there was no blockages and that my dog had a gallbladder issue that would require possibly surgery . My dog’s labs showed she had low potassium and her lactic level was high . We were advised that it would be best to admitt her over night for a potassium IV and other meds for vomiting as well as starting her on Ursadol for The gallbladder. My dog was admitted and I was called to pick her up the next day. We were sold special canned food and told that there were specialty centers that could do her surgery. She was sent home on nausea meds and urdidlo for the gallbladder. I paid good money for all this . I will add that they did two quick ultrasounds at no charge for the gallbladder. I was told by the vet that she could t see the gallbladder because there was too much sludge . Took my dog home without having any bowel movements . My dog got worse . Took her to a vet in Louisville that Erin the front desk girl recommended. My dog was diagnosed with telescopic intestine and required emergency surgery because she could have died . There was never any issues with the gallbladder. The new vet found the gallbladder immediately. There was no sludge and gallbladder medicine was never needed. My dog’s labs showed almost died and all I was given was a partial refund by the office manager after we spoke on the phone . I can understand getting partial refund for the medicine and X-ray. It’s upsetting though that my dog was misdiagnosed and almost died yet only a partial was granted . Please rethink taking your pet here . Go to Country Side where they can save your pet and actually care .

They saw our pup promptly and had snacks and wifi available for pet owners. We worked with Kelsey, Lacey, and Dr. Katie Gentry to develop a plan for care. They were all amazing and put us at ease on one of the most stressful nights of our lives. I really appreciated that they first recommended basic treatment options and medications instead of jumping straight to expensive options like x-rays and bloodwork. On one of the scariest nights for us, Kelsey and Lacy helped us get into a room quickly and assured us our suddenly very sick dog would be okay. Dr. Katie Gentry was nothing short of amazing, She worked with us on being on a budget, got our doggo home quickly, and made us feel assured that he would have a full recovery. They have a comfortable waiting room, free snacks and water out front for everyone. They are incredibly compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, and understand of your situation. I can’t even begin to tell you all, I’m sorry I can’t remember your names, but I’m sure you all remember me you made saying goodbye to my little Deuce as comfortable as possible. You all were very compassionate and understanding and I want to thank you for that.Comforting me when there’s no comfort that can explain the heartache of putting a pet down because he’s suffering, but what I would do to have my Deuce back. I miss him so so much, this past week has been the most difficult week of my life. Oh I wish I could have saved him. But thank you for everything you did for me and little Deuce. He is so missed. Experiencia fantástica: Our puppy schnauzer named Winston had swallowed a staple that we were unaware of which made him extremely sick and we drove from an hour away to come to this emergency vet for help. As soon as we got there they immediately took him back from the condition he looked to be in. The X-rays showed the staple and a plan was made to go in and remove it. He would have died without this clinic. We want to thank the vets and other staff members who worked on him to save his life. Dr. Neelie assured us that she would go in and remove this staple and he would be able to come home. We highly recommend this clinic and will be back for any future emergencies.

I went here once when my baby was just months old because after her first shots and dewormer she passed an ABNORMALLY large amount of worms for a puppy. So much that it didn't look like worms we thought her organs were coming out as she tried to poop. It obviously scared our puppy and scares us to so we rushed her to the closest animal hospital. They checked her out and explained tho an alarming amount she should be fine and that from the size and quantity the mother had worms and it had penetrated the uterine wall and got to the pup. They Had never seen that amount come out of a puppy but they made sure was okay. So we decided to bring her back 4 years later this past friday when she was given a pork femur bone from the pet store and consumed the entire thing in 45 minutes. She had large sharp fragments of bone in her stomach that could puncture her intestines. They worked with my budget and with me to save my dog. I couldn't afford surgery there but my vet opened in the morning. They gave her medical treatment to help hold her over until I could get to my vet for surgery when they opened. I will continue taking and suggesting animals here in emergencies outside of normal vet hours. They are so kind, professional and understanding. They are expensive but will give you the best advice even if it's not spending money with them They genuinely care about their fur babies that come in needing help and they've helped me twice now when I've come in with my baby in tears. I'm forever grateful and they have no idea the impact they have on people. ❤️

They all remained calm and took good care of my Louie. He got x rays and medication done to ease his pain for the time being. I’d go here again if i ever needed an emergency vet
