You can tell they genuinely prioritize your pet’s well being and aren’t trying to charge you money first chance they get. We took our cat there around 11pm and the nurse answered all of our questions very calmly.

They are kind, compassionate, caring and dedicated individuals who are in vet care for the right reasons. They make us feel safe, out cat LOVES the staff and the staff has adopted him as their part time child. Be honest with them and they will be honest with you. When they can work with you, they will. When they can't they will be straight forward and explain why. You're never in the dark here. I can text with them when I am work. I get lab results emailed to me. I know I said it before, but they truly do match caring and expert care in a way I haven't experienced since Novie Animal Clinic in Tallahassee.

Experiencia negativa: Very unprofessional. A child knows that you greet a strange dog by asking the owner and then holding out a hand first. This vet tech got in the room and put herself on the ground in my dog’s face acting like they were best friends. They had a vicious dog in the lobby when we left and it was unmuzzled and they asked us to usher our 14 year old senior dog to the far back of the office where he would’ve been trapped and cornered in a fight. They don’t understand dogs and just want your money. The 5 star reviews are from them offering free nail trims. They didn’t discuss what meds have worked for him in the past and just randomly assigned him some allergy meds that haven’t previously worked. They added on sprays and flushes which I told them I already had at home. Choose another vet.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an excellent experience at First Coast Veterinary! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and got our information extremely quickly. We were taken to an exam room right away, and everyone was so kind and gentle with my baby girl, Molly. She’s an 8-year-old Golden Retriever, and she received a full exam, CBC bloodwork, her annual vaccines, and a heartworm checkup. The way they treated Molly was truly amazing. The doctor was incredibly nice, took the time to explain everything clearly, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the visit. This was by far the best vet visit we’ve ever had, and we were out in just about an hour. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Greetings, I took my dog to two other vet clinics (due to lack of proper care) and then to the ER. I took him to First Coast (third clinic) and right when Doctor Dill walked in, I knew he was the one. Dr. Dill was the first person to try a step-by-step care plan to see if my dog responds to this, then we can move forward with that; if he doesn’t respond to this, we will move forward with that instead. Dr. Dill was the first person to prescribe my dog a antibiotic, inflammation and diuretic, which is greatly helping him. My dog had fluid around his lungs and stomach which the second vet I took him to did the x-rays for me upon my request (was not recommended by vet). That is when we discovered the fluid and was advised to get the fluid removed at ER and it will be a long term issue (whole life) -or- euthanize him. A heart worm test was done here and was negative. The first vet (in September) did blood work and a long needle extraction on a right leg lymph node, which all came back negative. However, he was still swollen in his chest, neck and face (no meds prescribed. After complaining, I was told to just give him Benadryl). His right leg then became swollen and has not gone down since. So, I didn’t want to take him back to the first vet, due to lack of care and attention. The second vet, I will be taking him back only for expensive work because it was so cheap (x-ray was $117.00 for two views). ER removed the fluid only from chest (to help breathing) and did blood work which showed he had low levels of protein. Gave him a B12 shot and also sent me home with Royal Canine GI soft food (protein). First Coast Vets will be his main vet from now on due to the thought process, communication, attention to symptoms, and approach the doctor took. I can tell the doctor read the notes from the other vets and ER due to him quoting some notes. For the first time in 4 days, my dog slept quietly at night without continuous coughing/whining. We have a follow-up in 7 days and I am sure, things will be a lot different

Experiencia fantástica: I was actually searching for "No More Homeless Pets" online in Jax when this veterinary clinic came up and I thought I was calling No More Homeless Pets. I received a quote for dental cleaning and was told by No more homeless that my 12 year old Yorkie, Gabriella, needed 5-6 teeth pulled and I also wanted a large lipoma removed from the top of her head because I know I had one once and it was very painful. Plus I wanted my baby to be beautiful again. No more homeless pets quoted me a price of about $2,300. To do both the cleaning teeth extractions and the surgery on the top of her head. When I found First Coast Vets Affordable Animal Hospital they did all of the above for approximately $923.00 including medications! I absolutely love this clinic and I would recommend it to everyone who's looking for an affordable, yet very professional and caring staff. The scar on the top of my baby's head has healed well and the doctor left a drain in the front that I was not sure would go away. It was just an opening in the scar. However that has healed and her hair is growing back on the top of her head and only three teeth needed to be extracted. Experiencia negativa: Update 2 : It has now been over two weeks since my last correspondence, and I still have not received a response from owner Venkat Gutta or Dr. Sandeep Kommuru, the veterinarian who performed my dog Lunas surgery. The clinic’s public replies and private emails repeat the same scripted defense and avoid addressing what actually happened: the lack of clear, urgent communication, the dismissive manner in which we were spoken to, and the choice to send home a critical patient rather than ensure she had the best chance at survival. The “records” do not reflect the reality of what we were told face-to-face, and no one has taken accountability for that. This experience has left me not only grieving the preventable loss of my beloved Luna, but also deeply disturbed by how poorly we were treated in the process. The lack of transparency, compassion, and accountability is unacceptable. I will not allow this to be quietly dismissed. I am asking again for direct accountability from the clinic’s leadership — not copy-and-paste excuses. At minimum, I expect acknowledgment of how this was mishandled and financial reimbursement for the treatment that failed my dog so completely. There is absolutely no excuse for the way I have been treated and now ignored.Until this is addressed, I will continue to pursue every possible avenue to make sure no other family goes through what mine did. Update 2 The clinic has now chosen to respond publicly, though only after I posted this review following weeks of silence. Unfortunately, their response misrepresents my experience and shifts blame onto me by suggesting I declined care. This is categorically false. At no point did I refuse treatment—once pyometra was suspected, I immediately agreed to surgery because I trusted their team. The issue is not that pyometra carries risk. I understood that. The issue is that after surgery, when it was clear Luna was deteriorating, I was never directly told the truth of her condition. Instead, I was reassured she was “fine,” instructed to “monitor her at home,” and told to “bring her back in the morning if she worsened.” Staff placed her—weak, pale, and struggling to breathe—into my car as the clinic was closing, knowing she was not stable. Within 20 minutes, she died in my backseat on the way to the emergency vet.I was never given the chance to make an informed decision about her final moments, such as pursuing immediate transfer or humane euthanasia. I was denied complete medical records documenting what, if anything, was done to support her after surgery. This is not simply about a tragic outcome—it is about a lack of transparency, compassion, and accountability. A family should never have to discover their pet is actively dying only after leaving the clinic that just discharged them. I continue to call for the clinic’s leadership to take responsibility for the failures in Luna’s care and to ensure no other pet is sent home in such a condition. Original review : Please think twice before stepping into their office. On June 26th 2025 after an emergency spay they threw my actively passing soul dog in the back of my car with no empathy and she stoped breathing an hour and a half later at ER after non chalantly being told she was ok to be picked up and “We are closing bring her back in the morning or take her to an emergency vet if she doesn’t improve”.. I have attached screenshots of the detailed letter I emailed and was told it was escalated but I have yet to get a response back. ( there was a delay in me reaching out due to grief,realizing/taking in everything that happened, and getting legal advice. But they now had over a week to respond) and to staff, please don’t bother responding that “if you have questions/ want to speak further about this” because at this point it is YOU who should have already been reaching out to me.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is by far the best vet clinic in the city! The staff is so sweet, friendly and knowledgeable. They treated my cats like they were their own family. I first found them online as I was frantically freaking out about my cats emergency and they quickly took care of me and looked after both of us and I was not even one of their patients! They even offered to stay with me during the whole process of when I eventually had to put my cat down that day. I highly recommend!!! And so does Nene :)

Experiencia negativa: I paid the exam fee of $50, including a $10 biohazard fee even though they didn't do anything to warrant that. A couple of times I visited I’m invoiced for things not performed. Vet prescribes over priced meds that don’t fix or correct the health issues that my dog is having. The doctor is more focused on reoccurring visits for more money and bogus fees, than the health of my dog and finding out what’s the root cause of the problem.

Experiencia negativa: Be careful, this is the only place I've given my phone number to all year, and literally within 2 hrs of giving my info to this company, my phone began blowing up with spam calls and messages. Either their system is compromised or they are actively selling your info. Also this is the only vet I've ever seen that was scare of a dog.

This clinic said they did that procedure, yet during my consult, I was told they don't have certain equipment to test eye pressure and would have to refer me to an eye specialist. Why then,did they tell me they can do the procedure and made me pay for a consult, just to have to refer me to an eye specialist becausethey dont have all the equipment to assess???

Experiencia negativa: Moved to the area in July and have been several times to First Coast Affordable Vet. Dr. Kommuru had no clue what the problem was that my dog had so his solution was to prescribe a uti test, six medications, medicated wipes and an injection he didn't discuss nor did the tech know why for $240. He's very quick to sell you $80 prescription Benadryl even though there is no history or evidence of allergies. When I said that's ridiculous she came back taking off the injection and one medicine for now $140. Again...he has no clue what is wrong! Why would I inject and over medicate my fur baby? I paid the exam fee of $50, including a $10 biohazard fee even though they didn't do anything to warrant that. When I took my dog there two months ago bc I was concerned about a bump since she's had two surgeries in the past to remove cancer. Bloodwork, antibiotic and steroid, which made her sick but he prescribed in case it's just inflamed before the bloodwork results came back normal. I should have known then. Dr. Kommuru didn't even ask me about or acknowledge the bump from a couple months ago at this appointment. It's in her notes if he even read them. I know because I got her records for when I find a new vet that's not out to scam clients at the expense of your animal.

I needed help quickly with her (at the time I didn’t care what clinic took us on) but I’m sticking with this clinic as our primary vet. We’ve been a few times now for follow-ups + puppy shots and every time the staff is always friendly, has great communication, Dr. Dill always answers my questions with great detail, the facility is always clean, and they run very efficiently. Our puppy is now in great health thanks to Dr. Dill & team!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been coming here for some time now with my Boy Kiba since he was a puppy. He recently had a procedure done hes been doing very well. I love this vet office. You can text them or send pictures to follow up and ask questions about anything. The staff at the office are so kind and very detailed. The Dr is also very honest and understanding and will listen to all your concerns ,he will recommend whats best for your pet allowing you to make your decisions. Most vet offices today are very pushy and way over priced. Here you will find things are reasonable in todays economy. They just want to provide great care for our loving pets. I'll always come back here and I've recommended any friend and family pets also ! :)

This last visit took the cake, we were charged so many fees that didn’t result in anything. Then we’re were charged $70 for ear cleaning for 2 dogs. Never cleaned the ears. We won’t return

Experiencia negativa: noticed an issue with my pet’s anal glands and took them to First Coast Dr. Vets. The vet prescribed several medications, but only Prednisone and Clindamycin seemed reasonable. After two weeks with no improvement, returned to the vet, who then recommended surgery to remove the gland. After researching, found alternative ways to help dogs express their anal glands naturally, reducing the need for frequent vet visits. discovered a $12 product from Petco that could help with this issue at home. Additionally, the vet’s office charged over $200 for non-essential medications, leading you to question whether to continue using their services.

This is the best one I’ve been to they care and they try to get these with the lowest price plus they explain everything before they get started and asked if you agree with what they’re about to do or would you like to wait later?. they also give you discounts if you are over 60, which is good for me

Experiencia negativa: I am deeply disappointed with the care my dog received during our recent visit. The veterinarian did not even greet my dog, and the entire consultation lasted less than three minutes. The vet asked me to move my dog instead of talking to the dog to see if he could help reposition my dog. Also, isn’t that what your vet tech is for? I felt that the doctor was not engaged or truly concerned about my pet's well-being. Sadly, my dog passed away less than 12 hours after the visit, and I can’t help but feel that the lack of compassion and thorough care contributed to this heartbreaking outcome. I expected a higher level of empathy and professionalism from a veterinary practice, especially during such an emotional time. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking genuine care for their pets. If you’re looking for guidance from a vet on your dogs prognosis, you won’t find it here. Also, have to mention while I was there someone came in and said their dog was worst off after having an xray at this clinic and they wanted to follow up and inform them.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my girl in for her annual and was greeted promptly with a smile. The front desk and waiting room were clean as well as the patient room we were promptly escorted to. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Dill is a very caring and intelligent vet. He goes out of his way to explain things to us in a thorough way so we don't feel worried. He also ensures that your fur baby receives the most comprehensive medical workup possible. The rest of the staff is very kind, knowledgeable, and they treat my baby Hazel with much love and care. Everyone who works here is awesome and they deserve as much kindness as they give to the animals.

Experiencia fantástica: Gabby was amazing I will be back. My needy and aggressive dog was easy to trim nails even when no one else could. I was told by my dogs vet that they couldn’t do it because they didn’t do sedation or anything like that but they have options here for my pet.

Experiencia fantástica: After a horrible experience at a previous vet, we were recommended to come here and this has then been our go to. They helped us tremendously with our babygirl Cupcake who passed a year and a half ago & she was able to have the best last 7 months thanks to this facility. We also take our senior pup Benji here. The staff is friendly and idk if they read notes before seeing you but they always remember your pet and their needs and that makes us feel special. They seem genuine and not like they’re just here to take your coins. Cupcake up in heaven and Benji here on earth are thankful for this place.

Experiencia fantástica: FCVAH was able to get my dog seen with a hind leg injury within hours after initially contacting them for care. They efficiently diagnosed the problem as well as looking two steps further and identifying upcoming issues in order to begin proactive treatment. All staff was friendly & knowledgeable, and I will be returning for follow up care as well as regular checkups & annual vaccinations. Highly recommend for all pet owners & friends.
