Experiencia fantástica: Always very professional and nice staffing. My cat Wally, had an abcess that healed and then returned. They explained everything in detail and sent pain meds and the cone of shame, which he wore for a few weeks. On another occasion I had to euthanize my dog, Pocahontas, and had a quiet room for us. We stayed for awhile and said goodbye and were never disturbed.

Experiencia fantástica: Duffy, my foster fail, became a permanent member of my family last summer. He has extreme anxiety about being handled so it has been almost impossible for him to be examined or treated. Dr. Swift has worked with us patiently (and with welcome humor), trying different approaches to medicating him so that treatment would be possible. And yesterday, she hit on the solution! I now have complete trust that, under her care, our Duffy will be well taken care of medically. I'd like to also add that the staff at KC Vet Care have always treated all our companions with the same level of patience, affection and humor. KC Vet Care is a great place full of great people who'll do their best for you.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Diehl showed the highest empathy and compassion in the hardest decision for my senior son, Chico (dog) that I ever had to make. His team also assisted with my request for my boys last day with us before we sent him to dog heaven. It was special and memorable. I am forever thankful and grateful for him and his staff.

The 1st time I brought my cat here she had so much anxiety and stress and even scratched the doctor ( I still feel really bad about that). Dr. Miller who we saw recognized that my cat was stressed and was very empathetic and understanding. I took my cat here for the second time and she did much better. I am very happy with the service and kindness.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Miller has been my vet since I moved to KC 2 years ago, and I have been blown away by his dedication and compassion ever since. One of my senior cats suffered from anemia and kidney disease, and Dr. Miller devoted significant time and attention to helping us explore options to keep him comfortable and prolong his life. He was a huge comfort to us throughout this time. What an absolute gem of a Dr. and a terrific human being.

Experiencia negativa: I took one of my conures to this clinic last year when it got injured. They charged me $115 just to look at the bird which is on top of any other fees that are incured from getting the bird back in good health. I called today because I bought another bird from what turned out to be an illegal breeder in KS, to have this bird checked out and they really raised their prices since last year and now want $130 to check out the bird. I understand that this is a business but this also supposed to be a place that takes care of animals, not rip off their owners. They make the prices so high because they know you love your pet and are going to pay it. I find that to be scandalous at best. I would most certainly find another avian vet. Their employees catch an attitude with anyone who questions the pricing. They should also know that the median household income in MO is only $67,449 and most families cannot afford that pricing. They simply do not care about you or your pet. Otherwise, the prices are not astronomical like they are. I paid well over $400 just to have my conure get a shot at the vet and a 10-day prescription. That is outrageous!!

Experiencia fantástica: I am struggling to even write this review because it is so hard to convery how deeply I admire, respect, and appreciate the people that make KC Vet Care so extraordinary. We have an 18 year old cat, a 6 year old dog, and a newly 1 year old puppy that all absolutely love seeing their pals at the office (shoutout to Autumn for suggesting the name we chose for our puppy!) Whether its a routine visit, an emergency, or a random question, I always know I can trust KCVC to genuinely care about the well being of our furry family members. We have seen a number of vets at this practice over the years here and I can confidently say any vet is amazing. I've consistently felt empowered to ask as many questions as I need to understand the best treatment options, best practices for their live stages, or even just what nutrition they need. Everyone is always professional, kind, informative, and gently pragmatic in the way you really need a vet to be when you have an elderly cat that takes multiple meds per day. The staff behind the scenes and the counter also never miss - always super timely with information, processing prescriptions, getting questions answered as needed. While I have no doubt about the expertise of the vets, this office has an incredible staff that keeps things moving efficiently and effectively. I am so deeply grateful for this business and these people and there's no real way to express it. All I can say is that I unequivocally recommend keeping your pets' health in these capable hands.

Clinic after clinic to and from emergencies we got our first real diagnosis to our Bellas slew of probems and rapidly declining health finally from Dr. Miller. Our fur baby had an undetectable cancer and had been found by an ultrasound. we had no other choice but to say Goodbye.This clinic helped us gracefully through the process with a peaceful crossing, we are extremely grateful for the kindness shown from Dr. Miller and staff. Experiencia fantástica: This was our first visit to KCVC. Kansas City Veterinary Care and Dr. Kirkwood were phenomenal. Many Vet/Doctors offices are sterile and unwelcoming. Everyone on the staff here was the complete opposite. I felt welcomed and confident in the care everyone provided. I would trust them with everything involving my pets. So happy to have found a new vet clinic! Thank you to everyone there!

My dog is very reactive and taking him to the vet is a very stressful situation for him and myself. Dr. Kirkwood made myself and my dog so safe and heard. She instructed her staff in the best way & they went above and beyond to give the best care for my dog. I can’t thank them enough for the work they do.

I had what I thought was an issue with my bearded dragon and they were able to allow me to drop him off and still get him looked at even though they were booked up and this was on a SATURDAY! Absolutely love them and that they take exotics and don’t charge an arm and a leg for the visits

The vets and the entire staff are extremely professional, kind, caring, communicative, helpful, and diligent! I primarily see Dr. Kirkwood (for 9 years now!) and have always been immensely impressed by her knowledge, professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication to her job and my pets! It is comforting to know that my pets are in very capable and loving hands with her. I have had to make unexpected appointments and have seen other doctors who were available and they have all been just as fantastic as Dr. Kirkwood! Even after I moved further away, I continue to take my dogs to this clinic because they are trustworthy and wonderful people :) My dogs are such an important part of my life and I consider them to be family; as such, I am so happy that I found this incredible clinic to oversee their health and put my concerns at ease!

Experiencia negativa: Terrible service and Less than helpful. Will not see your animal if you have an emergency visit, will direct you to emergency vet or to “call around and see who can take her” what’s the point of having a primary vet if they refuse to see your animal.

Doctor Entriken helped keep me and my baby at peace and Violet was so caring and gifted me a crystal directly from her bag. that means so much. I have also taken my bearded dragon here for care - he is so knowledgeable and caring to my babies. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Miller at KC Veterinary Care saved my beloved cat Angel’s life after a frightening accidental poisoning while I was refinishing an antique. I was devastated and terrified as I watched her slipping away due to acute kidney failure. Her lab results showed she was on the verge of death. Dr. Miller was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also deeply compassionate. He clearly explained the treatment process and kept Angel at their beautiful clinic, where the kind and attentive staff watched over her. The level of care and support we received was extraordinary. Thanks to Dr. Miller’s quick action and expert care, Angel made a full recovery. She’s now back to her sweet, loving self, eating, napping, and cuddling in my lap once again. Dr. Miller continued to follow up with genuine concern and shared in my relief and joy. I am beyond grateful. I wouldn’t trust Angel’s care with anyone else. Experiencia fantástica: I took my two male guinea pigs to get looked at after a previous vet neutered them. They were so helpful and did such an amazing job. Autumn and Dr. Miller were the ones who helped us. Autumn was incredibly nice and was so sweet to my piggies. She knew exactly what she was doing and even helped explain everything to us. Dr miller was incredible. He explained everything amazing and was incredibly nice. They both were very gentle with them. If I could give a higher review than 5 stars I would. If you have any guinea pigs, bunnies, hamsters, rats, etc I would highly recommend them.

(: The doctor was very gentle. It wasn't your typical vet/ er place , you could tell they care about the animals. The prices were very fair . Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful place. Attentive, caring staff. Private rooms. We currently have only brought our ferret here because our main vet doesn't see small animals, but we're likely going to switch our others. Our beloved ferret, Petunia, reached the end of her full, 9+ year life yesterday. KCVC allowed us to make an appointment for her same-day, working us in an obviously already full day for them. We were still given the usual kind care and attention. We were shown compassion and warmth in several ways. I can't recommend KCVC enough.

I am so happy to have came here with our sweet boy, Mr. Felix to address his ongoing pain & issues part due to his autoimmune disorder. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, the doctors (specifically Dr. Diehl as I've worked with him a few times now) are out of this World and you can ABSOLUTELY tell that they love what they do and take pride in it! I felt like they were treating my kitty like their own and did everything and thought of everything in order to help treat his issues and also be collaborative with his care as well to see what we'd be comfortable with as far as treatment. They have a lifetime customer as long as we live in the area! Forever grateful for this team & their care. THANK YOU!

Experiencia negativa: Original 5-star review: The staff at KCVC made my very first vet experience with my newly adopted dog so easy. They took the time to answer all of my questions (even the one I thought of after we left) and gave great care to my beagle mix. I highly recommend them. Update, 4 years later: I ended up leaving after a couple of years because they were so busy. I didn’t feel like the vets were focused (at not real fault of their own-they are probably over worked), so the customer service & care quality diminished greatly. Also, they are EXTREMELY overpriced, I now know. Idk if they price gouge or if it’s because they are located in Waldo. I know the vets and staff care and are great at their jobs, so I feel it may be a business management issue…? Either way, I was sad to leave, but am glad I did.

Experiencia fantástica: This vet is great. With the inability to talk to our animals its always so difficult to figure out what's wrong. This vet is the next best thing. They're usually incredibly punctual on calling back, or emailing results. They also have a great app which really helps. My pup HATES the vet so no hard feelings. They really do put my pup at ease, best they can.

Experiencia fantástica: Kansas City Veterinary Care is my main provider for my cat's general wellness checkups and basic care. They are the ones that recently pushed my little boy in the right direction with a pancreatitis diagnosis and saved his life. I couldn't be more grateful to have them caring for my babies. My edit is to just reconfirm how fantastic this place is. We welcomed a new lil goblin in to our lives and when he was having a routine checkup we were just wowed. Shout out to Dr. Gonzalo Erdozain. He and Dr. Melling saved my older boy and I will forever be grateful.

Experiencia fantástica: My dogs have been treated by almost all the doctors at KC Vet Care and we’ve had a good experience with all. Our dog, Rook, tore one and then the other crucial ligament and we were devastated and nervous about his future mobility. Dr. Erdozain did the surgery and now Rook can play just like when he was a puppy. It was a risk to do both legs at once, but Dr. Erdozain was confident and I’m glad we did. Their phone wait times and availability to get my pups in for any last minute illnesses has greatly improved since COVID, when I was a little frustrated with that.

The vet and other staff were super nice (as usual!) and talked me through treatment options and answered any questions I had. They were all super sweet to my dog, which makes his experience great. He actually enjoys going to the vet! Dr. Swift was fabulous and I'm grateful that we choose KC Vet Care as our pets' provider!

Experiencia fantástica: I looked around for a long time seeking quality professional guidance regarding my 'hospice' rat. Today I found it here! It was worth the hour round trip. The wellness check was only $96, the greeting staff and assistants were so kind and pleasant, the vet himself was thorough, understanding, and had a real conversation with me. Together we were able to determine a plan as my sweet girl nears the end of her life. It's obvious that pet comfort, care, and quality of life is priority to them. I really loved the service I received here and I will be coming back for my future pet needs. I recommend anyone seeking excellent exotic pet care to give this place a try.

Experiencia negativa: The staffing was ok I guess,they seem to have a heart for you and your fur baby, but when you are needing medication, they are very pricey, A little too expensive for my pocket, but at the same time they are the only veterinarian in the KC metro area that will examine exotic animals.

Experiencia fantástica: This was our first visit to this clinic, and it was for an urgent medical issue. The staff were helpful and were able to get us in that day. Service was fast and the vet was very knowledgeable about guinea pigs and their care and health issues. They did full evaluations and took excellent care of our pets. The cost was reasonable. They are now on our short list of verified good exotics vets.

Experiencia negativa: I have come here for about three years now, and spent a lot of money here. The vets themselves seem pretty high-quality, but the techs that work at the front desk lack attention to detail and seem to always mess something up in my experience. Just something to be cautious of and always ask for receipts and double check the prescriptions that they give to you. On more than one occasion they have given me the wrong thing and/or charged me incorrectly.

Experiencia fantástica: Rebel went to the vet today for a green, snotty nose He got some antibiotics and should be just fine. They were able to get us a same day appointment, which I didn't expect. I just wanted to take a moment to thank the staff and especially Dr. Erdozain. He was the first vet who cared for our first dog and her weird stomach problems and has been super caring any time we have to make a visit. I really wanted a vet closer to home and did try out 2 other vets only to be disappointed, but I have made the decision to have KC Vet Care as our only vet regardless of the 25 min drive. They're reasonable with prices and honestly, you can't beat the level of care they provide.

Dr. Diehl took the time to really examine our skittish, newly adopted shelter cat and patiently answered all my questions. And he offered advice about our dog who pulled so hard at the leash that we couldn't walk her. Now Birdie can go on walks!

Experiencia fantástica: Took my kitty here after a friend recommended them after a visit with his skittish pitbull mix. Vet we saw was kind and informative. Didn't shame me that we were a bit behind on things like vaccines. We got all caught up on our visit and found some affordable medication options for the reason for the visit. Nice office and they even got us in a bit early. We had zero wait in the waiting room. The Techs were universally professional. everything was clean, etc.

After so much hateful neglect from my old vet, State line animal hospital. I googled the closest vet to me. And Kansas City Veterinary Care came up! Dr. Swift did not even know me or ScarFace and she was just absolutely amazing to me and my baby. She even sent a hand written card!! I now bring my other pup to this vet. And they are equally great to him! The front desk staff are nice and professional. You can walk in M-F before 5pm for toe trims. They are clean. I’m so happy to have finally found such an amazing vet!!

Experiencia fantástica: Today was my first visit to Kansas City Veterinary Care. Petunia Bolt, our Ornate Box Turtle, had her very first check up. The staff here were above and beyond friendly and helpful. Dr. Exline was very informative, helpful and took his time to explain things to help our little girl have a better life so she can outlive us all. The front desk staff and nursing staff were phenomenal as well. I recommend this clinic for your exotic pet needs. If you have a turtle, this would be a great place.

Experiencia fantástica: I don’t really ever do ratings. That said these guys are great! Everyone is friendly the office is clean and very well equipped. The doctors are knowledgeable and listen to what you have to say. Prices are also very competitive. Appointments are handles on time. I have nothing bad to say.

Experiencia negativa: It was crowded, loud, and rushed. Our appointment had to be started in the lobby because there were no rooms available. Once we got a room, we weren't seen for another 20 minutes and then they had our dog alone in the back for 25 more minutes just to shave a small portion of her tail. Once Dr. Miller came in, he immediately disregarded anything we tried telling him and told us our dogs problem was fleas and that she'd need treatment and to keep coming back for 7-9 months. Mind you, they were only able to find 1 flea on my dog yet claim she has such a horrible infestation. When we tried pointing out our concerns and asking for other explanations, Miller continued to push the flea medication. We finally agreed just to get on our way (we'd been there almost 2 hours now, my dog was stressed) and when the lady rang us up, the price in medication was almost double what Miller told us it would be. He rushed out the door and got in his jeep as we were leaving and it honestly feels like he rushed the appointment just to get out of there and go home. What a waste of $300 and they didn't even help my dog.

Experiencia fantástica: After spending an hour calling vets around town I only found one that wasn't booked out for weeks. Kansas City Veterinary Care not only offered me multiple appointments close to the date but was flexible and let me adjust my appointment after I made it to better accommodate my situation. Upon walking into the clinic the energy was welcoming. We were greeted right away and were always introduced to anyone knew with waves and smiles. The care for our little friend was also fantastic. I came in with a sick hamster and they handled her gently and with care. The appointment was quick but the communication was amazing. We were given some antibiotics and a phone number to reach back out if anything else stirred up. Overall one of the best experiences I've ever had with a vet!

Experiencia fantástica: We could not be happier with Kansas City Veterinary Care. Dr. Erdozain is Carlton’s main doctor we absolutely love bringing our puppy to see him. He is always gentle and caring with our pup and is patient about answering all our questions. As first-time dog owners this is so important to us. Carlton has required a lot of visits, so we have seen most of the doctors and assistants. Each one is wonderful and has provided the best care—we are totally comfortable with each of them. We feel very fortunate to have found Kansas City Veterinary Care.

Experiencia negativa: very shocked especially when reviews were high at this place. the first woman who came in seemed (def was) incredibly annoyed-did not touch our dogs or have any interest in being near them- which is whatever just set an off tone. the vet who came in...- using the word 'disgusting' is so unprofessional and i've never experienced that, & it was said more than once (regarding an an ear and foot infection-like sorry what?) I cant imagine saying something is disgusting in a professional environment & it being about something these dogs with their allergies (pit bulls)are prone to! & the prices…lol u guys are out of your mind for real.

Experiencia negativa: I recently had a distressing experience with the veterinary clinic and dog boarding service that I feel compelled to share. This establishment, which I had initially trusted with the care of my beloved mobile disabled dog, has demonstrated a shocking level of negligence, leading to repeated harm and injury to my pet. First and foremost, it is essential to note that I take the utmost care to provide a hind leg sling for my dog, explicitly instructing the staff to use it during his boarding period. This sling is crucial for his mobility, as his hind legs tend to knuckle, causing his paws to drag on the ground. Unfortunately, despite my explicit instructions, the staff consistently neglected to use the sling, leading to disastrous consequences. On three separate occasions, I have collected my dog from the boarding facility only to find him suffering from horrific road rash wounds on his hind legs. These injuries are a direct result of his legs dragging on the concrete during their walks to relieve themselves. It is absolutely unforgivable that such a simple request to use the hind leg sling was repeatedly ignored, resulting in significant pain and distress for my pet. The complete lack of attention and disregard for my dog's well-being has left me utterly appalled. As a veterinary clinic and dog boarding service, it is their fundamental responsibility to prioritize the safety and comfort of the animals under their care. Instead, they have demonstrated an alarming lack of professionalism and compassion, causing my dog unnecessary pain and putting his overall health at risk. Furthermore, the fact that this has happened on three separate occasions is absolutely inexcusable. I had hoped that after the first incident, the staff would be more vigilant and attentive. Regrettably, it seems that they have not learned from their mistakes or taken any measures to prevent further harm to my pet. I entrusted this establishment with the well-being of my beloved companion, and their negligence has left me deeply disappointed and concerned for his safety. I would strongly advise against using this veterinary clinic and dog boarding service if you care about the welfare of your pets. Their blatant disregard for the specific needs and instructions of their clients is a clear indication of their unprofessionalism and lack of empathy. I will be actively seeking alternative options for my dog's care in the future and sincerely hope that others take this review into consideration before entrusting their pets to this establishment. Our furry friends deserve better than the negligent and uncaring treatment they receive at this veterinary clinic and dog boarding facility.

Experiencia fantástica: I've tried a few vets for my Leopard Gecko and this has been the best thus far. Dr. Exline is very helpful. Also Kris was excellent with helping me with special needs boarding for my Leo who has to be syringe fed for now.

I later had a question when the vet was out of office and still got a call back with a response before the end of business on the same day! Highly recommend!

While parking could be better, there's not always a large rate of patients there at most times. When it comes to reptile care, they have Dr. Miller that knows his stuff and will make sure everything is done to address any questions or concerns. Don't forget to bring a stool sample to make the analysis easier!

We currently have Dr. Molly Melling as our doctor for our two Chain Of Hope rescue dogs. She is not only a great doctor, but is very personable and our dogs love her! We have also had Dr. Erdozine perform knee ligament replacement on both rear knees of our pit bull, Pinky. He did a fantastic job and is also very concerned for her well being and personable. The staff here is excellent, friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a vet in midtown Waldo area!

They were amazing with her in spite of her anxiety, and she thrived under her care. They helped me say goodbye to her early last fall and made a difficult decision as easy as it can be. I just got a new dog and started taking her to them as well - can't recommend them enough!

Personally, I'd never dealt with this office even though he regularly went here for check ups and such. It was extremely unexpected and we were worried we wouldn't be able to get him help today. The office was extremely kind when we made arrangements and even asked for an exception so we didn't have to prolong discomfort. From the moment we stepped in the office we were treated with the utmost compassion. Dr. Miller was such a kind soul and he took such care in the process. He even made sure Havoc felt love as he made his journey over the bridge. Can't say enough good about this place during such a difficult time.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my recently adopted dog Tater here today for his first visit. Everything was great! He started barking loudly in the lobby and they were able to get me into a private exam room so he could be calm. The vet was very thorough and all the staff were all very kind and helpful. They helped us get checked out in the exam room so I wouldn't have to deal with him barking in the lobby again (I'm sure they could tell I was stressed the first time). The clinic was clean and bright. Parking can be a little tight when it's busy but I just parked in an adjacent lot since I figured it would be busy on the weekend. Fantastic place, and it's AAHA accredited, which isn't easy to do. So happy to have found a vet here in KC!

The vet and staff here seem to care about the pets and the people. They are going to be my new veterinarians for KC (my other vet is in Emporia and I love them too! Have been with them the last 5 years. They have the best prices for visits and surgeries that I have seen.)

We had a lame guinea pig that needed to be checked by a vet and not one clinic in Johnson County, Kansas could fit us in their schedule. Kansas City Veterinary Care found a way to schedule us in that day and Dr. Miller was wonderful with our piggie. They gave us a thorough print out of the examination findings and instructions on how to treat at home.

Experiencia fantástica: We've been taking our pets to Kansas City Veterinary Care since it was Hecker Animal Hospital back in the 1980's. I can say with all certainty that Dr. Melling saved the life of our 13 year old Wally. She took loads of time with him and was able to diagnose what she was sure was a splenic mass that was bleeding into his abdomen. We did take Wally to MVES for the surgery only because they are able to do blood transfusions there which he needed. We're so grateful to Dr. Melling for her time and care of our Wally.

I can sometimes get an appointment same day which is impressive. I am so sad that I am moving at won't be able to send my fur babies to them anymore but I highly recommend them for all your needs!

Kansas City Veterinary Care has also been amazing during Covid and helping make the curbside drop-off appointments easy.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the only places in KC to deal with rats. My little man had a foot injury. I called one day not expecting to get on for atleast a few days. They literally set me up same day only a few hours after my call. Got my rat looked at and he's doing great now. Back good normal ratty self. I would recommend this place to anyone who has exotic animals. The staff was pleasant and we got everything taken care of in a very timely manner.

Experiencia fantástica: I love KC Vet Care. I have been going there for over 12 years. My preferred vet is Dr. Paul Diehl. He has taken care of 4 dogs for me over the years - and now that I am fostering dogs he has been wonderful in answering questions and helping with their care. He is always very patient with me and my 50 million questions. I never feel rushed or an imposition. When Dr. Diehl has not been available I have seen other vets at the clinic and have always received great care for my dogs. The clinic is not cheap but in my research, their prices seem to be in the mid-range.

I have seen both Dr. Melling and Dr. Erdozain and they have gone above and beyond with the care of my pets. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, and extremely kind. They have both shown a level of concern and care for my pets that I have never experienced anywhere else. The rest of their support team are also always on point and make sure every visit is a good one.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been coming here for our two (formerly three) cats for several years. Dr. Kirkwood has been our pets' main vet and she has been fantastic. She takes time to really connect with the animals and is willing to go the extra mile when it comes to the humans. She is caring and skilled. The other staff we have dealt with have all been excellent as well. Prices have always been reasonable and they are very responsive.
