Experiencia negativa: DO NOT take your German shepherd here or any dog that looks like a German shepherd brought my dog here on Sunday for vomiting and bloody diarrhea.. GOT TOLD IT WAS AN UPSET STOMACH!!! Brought her in yesterday because the symptoms persisted and got told the same thing brought her to our regular vet and got a diagnosis of parvo so my young dog had parvo symptoms for over 5 days because these people did not want to run diagnostic test! Avoid this place at all cost if you’re able to

Experiencia negativa: I gave a review on how good they were. I am changing it. My girl had Cushing. Her doctor took her her medicine. She developed Uti. They gave her medicine. Told me to have my vet recheck. My vet said she needed to go back to Blue Pearl. I called several times. They always transfered me to her coriander. You have to leave a message. Never got a call back. Came home found blood on the floor. Took her to the hospital. They gave me medicine and sent me home. The next day she was worse. Took her to another hospital. Found alot going on inside her. I had to put her down. It is like Blue Pearl doesn't want my business. I have spent lots of money there over the years. I am done dealing with them.

Experiencia negativa: Its been a few years since my one and only experience with BluePearl, but the memory makes me just as angry now as it did then. I'm not going to go into details because, you know, the anger, but I will never, ever, bring another of my animals here. My experience was this place is 100% about the money and nothing else. Monetizing peoples love and concern for their pets and then milking them for every dime you can get during a traumatic event is absolutely despicable. Simply put, this place sucks

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Pearl did my Golden Retriever's knee procedure in April 2025. When he recently developed some temporary complications they did a complete exam as a wellness check. Great competent people. It is easy to see the compassion the staff has for animals. +++++

Experiencia fantástica: We called because our Yorkie was lethargic, not eating, and had an unsteady gait after his annual dental cleaning. We were seen quickly, the veterinarian actively listened to us describe what we were observing, did an exam and then discussed her diagnosis and recommendations. We left comfortable in the diagnosis, recommendations and our dog would be ok.

Experiencia positiva: Those they were fast and diagnosed the problem. It cost us time since they didn't have a surgeon on call. Unfortunately our dog didn't live. The necrosis of her stomach from bloat was to bad.

Experiencia negativa: My dog got shot in the face on 2/12/26 and thr ambulance unfortunately took her to BluePearl in Overland Park KS!! Because I could not come up with over $2000 all at once they released her without doing anything they said they would do to make sure the bullet wasn't lodged in her throat. As I was desperately calling everyone I knew to ask for help the doctor and assistants WALKED my dog out to my car as she is bleeding out of her face everywhere and simply said which vehicle is she going in? And handed the leash to me!! After telling them several times that I was uncomfortable with her going home with me because I didn't have to resources to help her I didn't know how to... THEY DIDNT CARE AND WALKED AWAY!! I took her immediately to VEG Animal Hospital where they showed her love and compassion and did not blink once over money!! They immediately took her to xray.. made her comfortable with a padded and blanket bed and sat on the floor with us like she was part of their own family! With the biggest tears coming down my face my baby girl Aurora did not make it! I will be honest I am so thankful that Aurora had been surrounded by amazing loving caring people at VEG Animal Hospital when her adventurous journey ended! DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL TO BLUEPEARL ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND COLD HEARTED... THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY AND DRIVEN BY MONEY!!

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our sweet Yogi in for an ultrasound. Everyone there, front desk, technician and Vet was extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind to both Yogi and us. Dr Easterwood took her time to explain the diagnosis and offered several options on how to move forward with the treatment that would best benefit Yogi. We really appreciate everyone at Blue Pearl. Experiencia negativa: Upfront willingness to figure out what's wrong with ur pet... then when it comes time for intense issues like x-rays that need to be done to figure life or death its only bout the money. Offering to do examination of wounds regardless of financial state. Then backtracking once they find out u can't pay at least 2/3rds of the bill upfront... They dont except pet insurance either... Very disappointing. I dont suggest taking any pets there!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck. Everything including cost was well explained. Everyone seemed professional and caring. Buddy made it through surgery fine and is recovering. Although the service was expensive I believe it was in line with any specilty surgery. Get pet insurance!!!

Experiencia fantástica: After careful consideration, a decision had to be made to end my sweet Angel, Daisy Duke’s suffering. The staff and the ER doctor showed so much compassion and understanding. My heart is broken, but my baby had the most peaceful passing I could have ever asked for. A closed off, comfortable room to spend time with her alone and a controlled environment that they allowed me to say when I was ready to say my last goodbye. I’ve heard so many horror stories about euthanasia, but this was so peaceful. They made her up into a nice elevated bed that she could be comfortable in and still continued to give her oxygen that she needed. She was treated better than I’ve seen humans being treated before passing. Thank you so much for your compassion, please continue to practice this amazing good human nature and showing so much respect for our furry loved ones.

Experiencia positiva: People are fantastic and they always do right by the animal! For that I am grateful, but the amount of time to get in and out is insane to me. I know it operates like an ER but I had signed my estimate and paperwork and all my dog needed was medication and it took an hour and a half just for me to be discharged. If there was a wait period for some reason, thats fine but should have been communicated. I just dont think an exam and walking out with only medication should have taken 4 hours. Otherwise they do great work.

Experiencia negativa: We rushed our 4-year-old, perfectly healthy dog here after coming home and finding her laying on the floor unable to stand. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful! Once we got moved into a room we waited for a bit and then the vet came in. She told us her suspected differential diagnoses and told us that our only option, at 9pm was to drive to Manhattan, KS, for an MRI. “I went to school there” she kept stating. We asked if if any type of supportive care could be offered to which she immediately told us that if our pup was kept overnight it “would be a minimum of $2000 and really not a good idea. Your only option is to drive to Manhattan and I’ve called them and they said they’ll see her and hopefully get her on for an MRI tomorrow.” We asked about waiting until the following day as she mentioned not getting her in until the following day, to which she responded with telling us if we don’t get here there our dog will most likely die. We brought her home and took her to our vet the following morning. He immediately looked her over and explained to us that diagnosis the vet at blue pearl told us was not showing in any of our dog’s symptoms. He admitted her to his vet hospital for medical management and fluids all weekend to see if she made improvement. Then, we received a call from Manhattan asking if we were on our way (this is the next morning) to tell us that their MRI is not working and has not been working. So, had we taken her advice and driven to Manhattan, despite her telling us she called ahead, we would have had to drive back home with nothing. This vet is clearly a new grad simply trying to get worried pet parents to get their animals into the KSU vet clinic and not have to spend time investigating actual symptoms. We spent $1000 for nothing and thought our only option was euthanasia. Don’t ever take a pet here!

Experiencia positiva: Overall, the service was fine. Our cat had an incident and we decided to bring him in on a Sunday for bloodwork. It was not busy when we arrived. We arrived around 8:30am and did not check out until about 2:30pm. We waited for about 2 hours to even get vitals done on him. That seems like something that should be done at check-in in my opinion. We were told a service would take about 45 minutes. Like any normal person would, I assumed that meant 45 minutes from the time they took him back. What they failed to mention was that meant 45 minutes from the time they STARTED on him as a patient. That ended up being 2-3 hours. I think overall, their communication needs to be improved especially surrounding the timeline of care for our beloved pets. It is not cheap to have your pet seen by an emergency vet, and our experience certainly did not reflect the quality of care I assumed I was paying for.

I was so impressed with her amazing knowledge when dealing with my diabetic dog and she was so thorough with explaining Everything To Me In terms that I could totally understand. Experiencia fantástica: Brought my Gus Gus in for an echo after a heart murmer was found by regular vet. Got an appointment very quickly. The staff are Amazing, very friendly. The cost was a bit much but not unreasonable or unfair for what we needed for the specialty care. If I didnt live 2 hours away, I would use this vet center!

Experiencia negativa: I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad review for a company. If I have, it’s few and far between. My experience with blue pearl at the Overland Park location is something that I still think about. We had a beautiful pup that was a dear part of our family who passed away a couple of years ago due to abdominal lymphoma. I still cry for her and miss her everyday. It took us some time to get her diagnosed, and we were treating her the best we could to give us a little more time but also keep her comfortable. We had two wonderful vet clinics that we went to that had been treating her. She had been comfortable, still going on walks and wanting to chase bicycles and squirrels. After she started prednisone a couple days before, she took a turn and I had to go to the emergency vet. It appeared that the vet was already in a bad mood as she entered our room. She took our doggy back to examine her, and I let her know everything that was going on. I believe I had records with me, but I can’t quite remember. I remember her reviewing something, and she said she agreed with our other vets that she did have abdominal lymphoma and there’s really nothing she could do. I ask her if there’s any other reason she took such a drastic turn after starting the prednisone. She again said she agreed with the other vets that she had lymphoma and that there’s nothing they could do. Then stated, if there’s nothing else, she needed us to get out of the room so she could euthanize another dog. She was cold and mean from the very beginning. It’s something I still think about every day. We were able to go to Eagle animal Hospital, where we had been taking her for other parts of her treatment. They were very kind, and sent her over the rainbow bridge. I will never forget how we were treated at blue pearl, and it’s something I still think about today. Which is probably why I felt I needed to post this just to get it off my chest. The vets name was Mary Gardener. I hope she hasn’t treated anyone else that way. I understand it’s very difficult to be a vet, you see a lot of pain every day, but the family you’re talking with is also in pain and it’s just searching for the right choice.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my little kitty Nemo in due to continuous vomiting and not being interested in eating. The nursing staff came out out and asked some questions within a couple of minutes and then took Nemo in to see Dr Bragg and get a sonogram done. Nemo stayed overnight so they could care for him and do a follow up sonogram the next day. Nemo came home today in great shape! Thank you to the registration person, all the nursing staff, overnight nurses and doctor and the Excellent Dr Bragg for all of your loving and professional care!! ☺️. Nemo is a happy little kitty again!

Experiencia negativa: 2 weeks ago this was a 5 star review. They sent me home after taking X-rays telling me that he just had inflamed bowels and that I needed to see a regular vet. He is dead now. Yesterday (January 15, 2026) he was struggling to breathe, in severe pain, and refusing to eat or move. I took him to VEG ER in Overland Park. They immediately put him in their ICU seeing his state and took their own X-rays. When I saw them I was furious. Blue Pearl either ignored or somehow did not see his lungs and chest cavity entirely filled with water, his heart and veins swelled 2x normal, and CANCER. Unbelievable. His chest on the X-ray looked like a snow globe, and even I with no training could see that wasn't normal. I had spent all day at Blue Pearl, forgotten about in a back room, I had to go to the front desk 3 times to ask about the status of my cat. The only good thing I have to say is 1 The vet was polite with me and respectful to my cat and 2 when I couldn't afford the cost of their X-rays they waived it for me. The rest is unacceptable. Experiencia negativa: Apparently I must retype this because they somehow got it removed. In may my dog Izzy was hit by a truck and her leg broke in 8 places. When I took her in they offered to perform surgery for 25k or amputate it for 12k. When I told them I couldn’t afford it they pushed to have me put her down for $500. Insisting that her quality of life would not be good enough. They very much took advantage of my emotional state seeing that I would do anything to save her. They tried to bully me into spending any kind of money. Luckily I trusted my friend and took Izzy home to let it heal on its own. If it healed in a way that cause her pain we would take it somewhere else to have it amputated. She is perfectly fine now wouldn’t even know she ever broke it and is the fastest dog in a house full of heelers. I thank God every day that I didn’t make a rash decision in my highly emotional state. I felt very bullied into making a decision so that the could make some quick money off of me. I will NEVER go back to ANY Blue Pearl EVER after this experience. I will also NEVER allow ANYONE I know to go there and get bullied into a bad decision. By all means DO NOT take them here.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff was amazing. We had to make a tough choice to put a member of our family to sleep on a Sunday evening. They got us back to a room very quickly so we did not have to sit out in the waiting room to grieve. I do not remember the doctor's name, but she was incredible. She calmly walked us through the process and treated not only our girl, but our family with care and respect.

Where one vet told me to just watch my dog have seizures and basically do nothing, BluePearl put him on meds that helped immediately, answered every single one of my MANY questions with knowledge and care, treated my boy with love and patience, and made us feel heard, appreciated, and loved. I live over an hour and a half away but I will always come back. Truly changed my perspective and my pets life. I can’t say enough nice things!

Experiencia negativa: I put this review off for over three weeks to allow my emotions not dictate my review but it turns out for BluePearl their entire playbook is taking advantage of these emotions, especially my emotional wife. We ended up paying 5 grand for treatment for our dogs pancreatitis treatment. After researching this ailment and talking to two other vets I realized that the saleswomen (never spoke to an actual vet) Up-saled using our love and fear to treat our pet. Ive been to this location three times before and I know you pay more for services but this was overboard, this felt entirely different this time...looks like the healthcare scam artist have incorporated this vet...sad day for us, we lost complete trust in BluePearl. Just my opinion, and Im saddened that I had to write it.

Experiencia fantástica: BluePearl Emergency Department was such a delight in an unpleasant scenario for me and my pup. I was put at ease by the staff by the time I walked through the door until I left. I imagined I would be there a while, but even in the distress, they were comforting. I didn't want to have to go to an ER on the weekend, but if by chance I have to go again, I'll always use BluePearl. It was a great experience led by amazing people!!! Kudos to them for running a good facility.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough good things about Blue Pearl. We went in there for our 14 year old Husky not doing so well. Unfortunately it ended with her liver completely shut down and we had to euthanize her. It was just her time to go. But the staff there was over the top professional in every step. Dr. Mccartan was the best. We could tell that she truly cared about our dog. She was very informative with all our options. She made sure our baby was comfortable and not in any pain. She was with us all the way through the end and helped us through the tough time. It sucks loosing a pet who was literally a member of our family, but it was nice to have the extraordinary treatment that we did. Thank you Blue Pearl for all you did.

Experiencia fantástica: My Jack Russell just happened to get into the trash and dug out a bone (that usually gets ziplocked into a sealed bag) as to not smell it. She chewed the bone extremely fine, creating sharp shard-like pieces of fragmented bone. Made her sick, and it was extremely dangerous to her digestive system. Blue Pearl was open on a Sunday morning and got Dotty June right in. The examination was thorough and covered her system from entrance to exit. The staff was very comforting to both DJ and myself. She’s back on the mend with the provided medication and, soft prescription Science Diet food for a week. Don’t hesitate to get your Loving Angels to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in any emergency situation.

Experiencia fantástica: We saw neurology for epilepsy. For the first time since our journey started, I feel like someone understands. Dr. Yeamans understands I love my fur baby and want him to live a long, happy, normal life as much as possible, while also understanding I don’t have unlimited funds. She gave me a game plan that is easy to follow and makes me feel like we are doing more to improve my dogs life and mine. Highly recommend to anyone dealing with epilepsy to see Dr. Yeamans. I was worried we would be urged to do expensive testing or procedures and that was not the case. We will continue care with this practice.

Experiencia negativa: I called multiple times trying to talk to someone and the phone rang at least six times per call and no answer. I finally brought my dog in and a lady just casually walked out and was nonchalant. When I got here, there wasn’t one car here. I give her not even a star and I give the tech ten stars and the doctor ten stars. With that being said the tech was extremely personable and so sweet. The doctor was very knowledgeable and gave me all my options and very easy to talk to.

Experiencia negativa: Our dog had a soft tissue sarcoma which they recommended surgery to remove. In hindsight I don’t believe they had the depth of experience a university may have had and our dog passed within a couple of months of a very expensive consultation and surgery from the same cancer. A less optimistic prognosis was probably called for. Keep in mind, this is a for profit business not a teaching vet school.

Experiencia fantástica: We had our first visit with the neurologist at Blue Pearl! It was a scary and uncertain situation for me to be in the position to go to Blue Pearl. However, they greatly exceeded our expectations. The entire staff from the receptionist, to the veterinarian technician, to the neurologist were all so warm and kind. Even the other patients/owners in the waiting room were so wonderful and sweet! My Milly girl received exemplary care and attention. I hope we don’t need to return for obvious reasons, but I would feel so comfortable having my sweet Milly’s care in their hands again, if needed! Great experience.

Experiencia negativa: Bad. Bad. Bad. Do not trust this place with your pet. We brought our sweet boy in this morning after calling to be sure they could provide the services needed and recommended by the urgent care doctor we saw last night. We came with X-rays and Drs notes from urgent care. They knew when we got there what our little guy needed and took him back. They performed an ultrasound that proved what we already knew…..and then told us we had to take him somewhere else because they were understaffed. They would not release our pet until we paid their ungodly prices even though our dog needed emergency surgery. They quite literally stole our money. They knew they were understaffed when we called and asked if they could provide the services needed. They have zero care or compassion for animals. Thieves and liars. Do not take your babies to this place.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!! I called before hand and asked for help as my dog needed emergency surgery. We sent them the xrays that were given to us from the first place we went and they told us to come in and they will take care of him. When I show up and they take him back they say that they are understaffed and cannot do the surgery. Held him in the back and refused to give him to us until we paid. Charged me $900 for an ultrasound and sent me out the door. Waisted so much of my time and money to do absolutely nothing to save our boy. Worst experience of my life when we are already going through so much stress and anxiety fearing for our pets life. Our puppy barely made it to the next place as he was on the verge of death due to the Blue Pearls negligence and outright lies.

Although expensive, lab work, an ultrasound, and medicine are seeming to help a lot while we are waiting on lab results. Sonagraph showed infection. Dr Gardner explained clearly what was happening and meds needed. 6 hours later Molly was recovering nicely.

Experiencia fantástica: My older Great Dane Birdie managed to get a block of mouse poison and eat it. After our regular vet emptied her stomach, they sent us to Blue Pearl for follow up emergency care with the recommendation she be watched overnight for seizures. Upon arrival at Blue Pearl, the vet came out and greeted us herself since she took the call from my vet office. After asking a few questions, she said her initial research led her to think Birdie didn’t ingest a dangerously toxic level but wanted to work the math out herself after weighing Birdie. Her conclusion was the amount Birdie ate was well below the toxicity level and she should be just fine. She administered a dose of activated charcoal to help soak up any lingering poison in her system and I was able to take Birdie home that night. Birdie has been her normal self the whole time and is fine, no issues. The vet did a great job of explaining everything to me and answering questions I didn’t ask because I was too far into panic mode to think clearly. Her factual demeanor helped calm me down and the care they gave my Birdie was beyond commendable. Thank you to the staff that provided her care.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought Bogey in for suspected torn cruciate. Saw the surgeon Monday, had surgery on Tuesday and was able to bring him home Wednesday. Staff was all very friendly, was within the estimate. You can tell they really care about your pet. Would highly recommend Blue Pearl Overland Park. Had a 2nd surgery yesterday (11/17/25) and Dr White removed a bone plate. Bogey loves to go in and see them. He is doing great post op. Everyone we have encountered from the check in to check out has been great!

Experiencia negativa: I would not suggest this place. Had to go on a Sunday for emergency. Reception is awful. Extremely dismissive given situation. Was told 3-4 hour wait. I called a different clinic and was being treated within 20 minutes. My theory is that when you walk in the door and are treated like crap, then that sets the stage for everything from that point t forward. Terrible experience.

Experiencia fantástica: It has been a few months since we lost our heart dog to cancer, and I am just now able to go back and leave reviews without crying all over my laptop. For over 8 months, we visited multiple veterinary clinics to try to get answers about two major symptoms that our girl had. The first clinic missed the issue completely, and strung us along for months on expensive prescriptions and useless follow-ups. The second misdiagnosed her, and again we went through pointless medications and wasted time. They did recommend Blue Pearl though, as they have more advanced diagnostic equipment and specialists. I set an appointment with Blue Pearl, and from the moment we arrived, I felt that we were finally going to get real answers. The staff were all very professional, organized, and caring. They gave me multiple testing/diagnostic options, and ultimately recommended an abdominal ultrasound. That test revealed extensive cancer, and that there were no treatment options. I will always wonder if things would have been different if I had gone to BP earlier and not wasted so much time with the other clinics. They do need to take your pet into the back without you present, which I had not experienced before. I understand why - it's just something to be prepared for. If I am ever in a situation again where I need answers about a beloved pet, I am skipping all other clinics and going straight to Blue Pearl. One other note - I recently helped my neighbors take their dog to BP when they discovered that he suddenly could not use his rear legs. After a brief wait and very quick exam, it was discovered that he had suffered a stroke. They recommend a special rear-end harness and gave other helpful advice. Luckily, after a couple of weeks, he is showing major improvement and is walking by himself again. These folks know what they are doing, and care about you and your pet.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our puppy Korr in after our hometown vet said he had a hernia and needed surgery right away. When we arrived everyone was very kind and helpful to us and Korr. Dr. Bragg was able to rule out a hernia and diagnose him with severe pneumonia. They kept him in the ICU for 3 days and were giving him the best treatment he could have received! Each staff member I talked too was very kind, we received updates by phone call every day that put our mind too ease. The staffs shift communication is amazing each staff I talked too was able too answer any questions I had about Korr. We were able too visit him multiple times and each time his area was clean, they provide fresh blankets each day too make them as comfortable as they can be. These people really do care and they take all your concerns into consideration. Our puppy has shown so much improvement and was taken care of so well. We think this place is reasonable priced, when you choose too have an animal you take on the financial responsibility and sometimes there’s times like this when it is an emergency however, for my boyfriend and I there’s nothing we wouldn’t do too save our animals! Experiencia fantástica: My dog ran into the road after a ball my kindergarten grandson threw. He was hit by a truck. I raced him to Blue Pearl who quickly brought a gurney to the car with a doctor and nurse immediately on hand. Rudy was whisked away to be checked over. He had died. The doctor asked if I wanted them to do CPR, which I agreed to, however he had many internal injuries and could not be revived. Rudy was brought into a private room on a gurney for us to be with him. He had a blanket over him, except his head. We had time to grieve his sudden death with class and dignity. Blue Pearl was a class act during this sudden, tragic time. They were extremely compassionate. We took Rudy home to bury him. We are so grateful for Blue Pearl’s exceptional care and their empathy.

Experiencia fantástica: The BEST, Always the BEST. Dr. Bragg is AMAZING. He saved Bailey's life, from a double dose of leptospirosis vaccine, the second vet didn't see that the "other" vet had already given her the leptospirosis vaccine and thus, had I not raced her into Blue Pearl, she wouldn't be here today. I can't believe such a mistake was even made, but, two trandgudionst and three days and nights in ICU and she's good a new! I highly recommend Dr. Bragg at Blue Pearl. He is not only amazing, but THE BEST in Greater Kansas City. Thank you again, Dr. Bragg, for the incredible work you did saving Bailey's life! I'll follow you wherever!

Experiencia fantástica: I’m deeply grateful to the team here for how they handled one of the hardest moments of my life. My cat, Milo, was gone by the time we arrived, but the staff still checked for a pulse three separate times before gently confirming it to me. They were compassionate, professional, and so consoling throughout. They gave me time to be with him, treated him with care and dignity, and later sent a thoughtful card with personal notes from the staff along with his paw prints. Those gestures meant more than I can express. They truly made an unbearable moment a little easier to carry.

Took her to Blue and in 10 minutes knew it was Parvo. They kept her 5 days in isolation and took loving care of her. She came home yesterday. This is the second time Blue has saved one of my babies. I took him into the BP in OP and they immediately ran tests and began monitoring . We had a positive outcome to our visit but I couldn’t have been more pleased with the way everything was handled by their staff and process for taking in our 4-legged patient.

Experiencia negativa: I am absolutely shocked at the treatment I received at this emergency vet. From the moment I walked in, the front staff were negative and unwelcoming—no greeting, just a flat “what’s wrong.” When I explained my cat’s critical symptoms, the girl at the desk (with glasses and crooked eyeliner) made a face of disgust, which was extremely unprofessional and insensitive. Instead of helping, they had us wait for a long time while another person who walked in after us was immediately taken back. When I asked for an update, the staff member was sitting on her phone, eating pretzels, and without even looking up told me my cat “wasn’t a priority.” This is the EMERGENCY ROOM—how could a suffering pet not be considered a priority? I even broke down crying in the lobby out of sheer frustration and fear for my cat, but the staff just looked annoyed instead of showing any compassion. After that horrible experience, I called another emergency vet who immediately told me to rush him in. The difference was night and day—they took his vitals and information as soon as we arrived and admitted us into a room right away. If I had waited at this hospital any longer, I could have lost my cat due to their neglect and lack of compassion. Please do better. No pet parent in crisis should be treated this way. If you’ve read this long just go to VEG ER instead.

Experiencia fantástica: We were referred from Omaha, Nebraska, to get an MRI done on our dog Xena for suspected neurological issues. Got in for specialized within just a few days. Their knowledge and service is outstanding. Following a CT and MRI, they quickly assessed the problem areas and referred us for a radiation oncology consult. Their attention and compassion was very appreciated. Wait time was minimal. Cost was on par with expectations and level of services provided. On the upper range of the National average, but still worth it. Our only regret was that we wished we had come earlier to benefit sooner from their expert diagnosis and recommended treatment. Experiencia fantástica: Grateful for Dr. Yeamans and her team that got my dachshund in quickly for IVDD surgery. He’s a week postop and almost back to his normal condition. It will be a long recovery ahead so don’t want to get too ahead of myself but I’m so happy to see him excited about his toys and in minimal pain. Thank you to everyone at Blue Pearl who we may have crossed paths with. Your hard work and care is appreciated.

Experiencia fantástica: Each person I encountered explained what was happening to my dog, what they would be doing and patiently answered every question I had. They were kind, understanding and never rushed me or made me feel like they had something more important to do. They called me each time they said they would. It made this crisis seem much more bearable. Copper (my dog) and I are so incredibly grateful for Dr. White and EVERY person who loved on our dog and was so gracious to our family.

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Pearl staff was very quick to respond to emergency situations, very friendly and compassionate. They provided excellent care for our pup when she was sick and they explained it very well as they were doing it. They called us when she was staying in the hospital to keep us up to date on how she was doing. They also provided excellent at home care written instructions after her stay and went over them with us verbally as well. Our pup is back to her normal self now!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Thomason is exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, personable, and thorough. He spent a great deal of time with us during both of our visits, explained complicated medical issues in understandable terms, and clearly conveyed a comprehensive plan of action to follow. Blue Pearl is fortunate to have him as a member of their staff and the cardiology interns and residents are truly fortunate to have him as a mentor. Experiencia fantástica: I would absolutely recommend Blue Pearl animal hospital in Overland Park KS to anyone. They took amazing care of her and us. They never sugar coated anything, gave us all the time we needed with her before she passed, made sure we were doing okay when we had to go back up there and pick up her ashes, and the vet she saw was amazing. The vet truly cared about us and his patients. It was truly the best I could have ever asked for Marci, they made her so comfortable at the end. Dr. Todd Odle was who helped us this past Saturday and I couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you and god bless you sir.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog in after he had all the signs of having had a seizure. The vet told me he choked because of being a bulldog and was dismissive of the other symptoms. He just kept telling me he was "made wrong." After taking him to K-State he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and it was confirmed he was having seizures. When I contacted Blue Pearl to tell them what happened, they never responded. I recommend using K-State's services if possible.

Experiencia fantástica: We have a large Golden Retriever, 5yr old.and Dr Veebrock has been working to keep him free of diahrreha. The service is excellent...very caring and engaged staff. Price is a bit high but necessary. They are a tremendous value to us.

Experiencia negativa: On August 31, around 2:50 p.m. I arrived at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital with my 13-year-old dog, Ace. Ace presented with difficulty breathing, wheezing, very lethargic, could not control his bladder, had little to eat or drink in 2-3 days, and most concerning, coughing spells that ended with him spitting up clear fluid. Within ten minutes, Ace was called into the back room to be triaged. As they took Ace back, the vet tech witnessed his coughing episode and asked if “that’s it?” The vet tech did not find Ace’s conditions critical, so we were told to return to the waiting room. From approximately 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., we waited for our turn. During that time, several pets arrived after us, were cared for, and left before us. During these three hours of waiting, as employee after employee walked by us, Ace continued with his labored breathing and cough, followed by spitting up clear fluid. Around 6:00 p.m., when Ace and I were the only ones remaining in the waiting area, I checked with the receptionist to ensure Ace was still in the system to be seen. I was concerned he had been accidentally discharged since we had patiently waited three hours. The receptionist told me (twice) that Ace was considered “noncritical” and that he was the next “noncritical” patient to be seen. Finally, around 7:15 p.m., Ace was called to be seen by the vet. Within 30 minutes, the vet told me Ace had a significant heart murmur and fluid in his lungs. Without “lifesaving” treatment, Ace had 12-24 hours to live. Yet, the vet tech who triaged Ace considered him “noncritical” and made him wait in severe pain for over 4 hours. I wanted a little time to discuss Ace’s care of action with my wife and parents. For context, over the last few years, my parents were “co-guardians” of Ace. My wife and I now have three young children, and we felt it would be a more calm, peaceful environment for our elderly dog to stay with my parents. My parents developed a strong bond with Ace. Unfortunately, my parents were visiting family in Texas at the time I took Ace to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. Once told of Ace’s condition, my parents purchased the next available flight to Kansas -  which was the next day. We asked Blue Pearl to keep Ace comfortable and provide the care needed over the next twelve hours so the whole family could say goodbye to Ace. Blue Pearl would not do that unless we paid $3,600 up front. This included payment for services that had not been requested or rendered ($1,000 for miscellaneous medications, potential consults with the cardiologist, $500 echo, $250 bloodwork). Blue Pearl Pet Hospital made Ace wait over four hours while he suffered, only to give my family the ultimatum of: 1) pay $3,600 now to keep our dog alive for twelve more hours while my parents caught the first available flight to say their goodbyes; or 2) euthanize our family dog of over 13 years. Had Ace been properly triaged, and seen within a reasonable time, my parents could have caught the last flight of the day. Instead, at 10:00 p.m., my wife brought our 3 children to see Ace one last time and my parents had to say goodbye to Ace via FaceTime.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently brought my fur child Indiana, to BluePearl for a cardiology appointment, and I could not be more impressed with the experience. The doctor and his team were incredibly attentive, caring, and compassionate. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly and made sure I understood Indiana’s care plan. Experiencia fantástica: It was truly an amazing visit. We didn't wait long before one of the team members came for us. When we arrived in the exam/test room, the cardiac team were all waiting for us. I was positioned by our dogs head and he didnt seem nervous, however we were very nervous with the possible diagnosis we may receive. They all greeted us and were professional, yet comforting. We truly felt welcomed and Dr Thomason explained everything that was going on and showed us on the screen the ultrasound as it was being done. I have shared our experience to my friends and family. I can't speak for all the Blue Pearl hospitals, all over the country, but I can tell you from our experience in the cardiology department in Overland Park, Kansas with Dr. Justin Thomason and his team were phenomenal. Thank you so much!!
