Experiencia negativa: I had a sickly cat, sick since birth. I took him in, unfortunately his illness had gotten bad enough he needed to be put down. As I’m holding my best friend who I know is about to lose their life I’m scream crying because that was my familiar, my other, my best friend. I heard the tech say “…. Oh it’s like that …..” and in the middle of me holding my dead cat maybe 45 seconds after the operation they’re holding a tablet for a bill in my face demanding money. Gave me ZERO time to grieve or say good bye we were gone within 3 minutes. I hate this place for taking away my final moments of peace with a pet I loved more than anything on this planet. Then… They lost my t favorite t shirt I gave to comfort him and the kennel I had used for him his entire life. I called back multiple times for them to be like idk. Least they could have done is replace the kennel ?? Especially after taking $600 from me while I was sobbing over my best friends dead body This happened in 2023. It took me a few years to decide how I wanted to leave this review. I opted for pure honesty.

Experiencia fantástica: We appreciated Union Hill Animal Hospitals' hospitality with our large breed female dog named, Echo. Echo was very afraid and we wanted to get her caught up on her shots and treat a swollen nipple from nursing puppies. We appreciated how understanding the staff was towards are very nervous Echo. We were also able to schedule a time to get her fixed and we are continuing treatment for her swollen nipple with antibiotics and laser treatments. Echo weighs 95 pounds and is very gentle with humans but becomes nervous in new places even though we have traveled with her quite a bit in our large van, so we were greatful the staff understood her nervous behavior and somewhat unwillingness to stand on the scale. The Doctor and Nurse seemed very informed and we feel like our best friend Echo is in the best hands possible. Echo is an amazing mama to her five puppies and we have loved every moment with her.Thank you Union Hill Animal Hospital we strongly recommend them to pet lovers in need of animal medical help. Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my dogs to Union Hill Animal Hospital for multiple years, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the care they provide. What sets them apart is that they always do what is best for the dog and not just what is standard or easiest. My sweet Chloe had significant anxiety, was not a fan of strangers, and struggled with leash aggression. From the very beginning, the team met her exactly where she was. Instead of automatically taking her to the back for testing, they worked with me and performed exams and testing in the room with me assisting, which made a huge difference for her comfort level. If an appointment ever became too much for her, we stopped because their priority was keeping it a positive, low-stress experience. Their attention to detail was incredible. They kept thorough notes and truly knew Chloe...how to enter the room, how to speak to her, how to get down to her level, and how to help her feel safe. They also worked closely with me to find the right medications to help manage her anxiety, which greatly improved her quality of life. Because of the care and trust they built over time, going to the vet became a “happy” experience for her. Almost like a treat. That meant everything to me, especially when it came time for her end-of-life care. Despite being in pain, Chloe was calm, comfortable, and able to enjoy all the final treats. The process was incredibly peaceful and handled with so much compassion, even in such an emotional moment. Union Hill Animal Hospital treats your pets like family and truly sees them as individuals. I will forever be grateful for the care they gave Chloe and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary team that leads with empathy, patience, and heart.

Experiencia fantástica: The following review is from the perspective from a pug/chihuahua mix, Dez: I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and they never miss! First you walk in and there is an arrangement of food to get the nose going and you can’t help but drool. The scale comes with an amuse bouche with a delightful beef flavor. Once you are ushered into your private room, wait staff comes by with more seasonal tastings. The pub pretzels with peanut butter and spray cheese are a must try! Reservations are required and you need to book a few weeks out in advance. I will definitely be back!

Experiencia fantástica: My girl is very nervous about going to the vet, and when we went the other week they let me take her outside to the back and met us there and completed her appointment outside where she was more comfortable. I cannot say enough good things about that experience it was comforting for both me and my girl to have that peace outside.

Union Hill has helped me and my pooch along a 3+ year journey to finding out she needs to be on permanent thyroid medication. She's needed it her entire life but Union Hill was the first to bring it up as a treatment option.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Union Hill Animal Hospital for about two years now since my dog was a puppy. We have had nothing but positive experiences with them. From the front desk staff to the techs to the doctors- they are all amazing! We have seen both Dr. Locke and Dr. Williams who are so sweet with my dog and very knowledgeable! Recently my dog wasn't feeling well, and the team was so helpful. It is evident that they truly care about his health and well being. The front desk team member, Tracy, went above and beyond in talking with me. She worked with Dr. William to ensure that my doggo was ok and we had a plan. She also went out of her way to provide me with resources. She personally called me to follow up, as well. I truly appreciate the entire team and recommend them to all friends and family!

Experiencia fantástica: Our third vet over the years & by far the best. We have 3 rescue pups & they do everything they can to make our anxious babies feel comfortable. They’ve helped our chubby boy lose weight, helped us stay on top of preventative tests, perform dental cleanings, & treat our 15y/o terrier’s arthritis. Dr. Damon Locke truly has a passion for his work & all of the techs have been so kind & helpful over the past few years.

But the new receptionist or whoever lol was the rudest and most condescending person I’ve ever met in a very vulnerable time in my life. Plaza vet is Where I will be recommending all my friends and family from now on. This place turned into a joke since 2021. The receptionist actually hung up on me yikes.

We take our dog Tony who lives between VA, Kansas City, and Puerto Rico, and they are understanding and don't make us repeat vaccines/tests if we bring documentation from his other vets. Vet and vet tech provide detailed and helpful advice and explanations for their recommendations. I also appreciate the option to go with our dog for nail clipping if he's appearing stressed. Haven't needed to but appreciate the option. Very happy with the care!

Experiencia fantástica: The techs are so helpful & knowledgeable. Super fast response times, & they are cost-conscious & transparent. They tell you costs up front and give you options. They recommend treatment options but don’t pressure you into treatments you can’t afford. Dr. Locke is the best. He really is the kindest, gentlest vet I’ve ever met. He sits on the ground & lets our small dogs approach him rather than trying to pick them up. Has been very helpful in managing our anxious pups. I’ve had positive experiences with Dr. Austen & Belew too. Not all vet clinics are created equal & Union Hill is by far the best of 3 we’ve used over the years.

From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave it feels like everyone is so ready to help in whatever way they can. Both our dogs have multiple daily meds and it took some time to find the right combos, but the doctors were communicative and thorough every step of the way. The techs are all wonderful too. Experiencia negativa: I have two pet rats that I love very much and one of them got a large tumor on her neck that the doctors were able to successfully remove for quite a large sum and I’m a broke college student. So when I take my rat back for a consultation after another tumor showed up on her leg less than 6 months later, they try to tell me the exact same things as last time and charge an incredible amount for barely touching the rat at the consultation. At this point, I really can’t afford another surgery and I don’t want to leave my healthy rat all alone so I ask to euthanize both together so at least they’ll have each other but they just try to force me to sign her up for another expensive consultation and act condescendingly as if this was a rushed decision when really they’re just after my money. The women at the front desk were incredibly judgmental and hardly spoke to me except for when they were taking my money. I will never be returning and I will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone I know.

Experiencia fantástica: Suzy Q and I got home an hour ago. Fantastic staff. Cody met my personal needs about diet. Dr Williams has a goo's temperament when communicating. I asked enough questions and received direct answers. I made an appointment for blood work for Suzy Q in November. About Suzy? She was hissing up a storm at the vet's on the soft Cartier. A domestic short hair cat, she never is any trouble ever in our house. Strange she is not. Cats are guides and she and her litter mates and family have been with mine since I was born. Support pets, can anytime save your life. This they know. Even our Zoo and their trainers are about support.The new food that the clinic gave me for weight loss is what I have been wanting for many months. Today is the day that Suzy Q is ready, and we bought her formula. I came home. I fed her just right. She ate happily. Relaxed like a Queen. I bathed and now we are two happy clients.

My dog is a daily med user and UA makes is so easy to refill and pick up. I cannot speak highly enough of the odor elimination candles and spray. So effective and smell incredible.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been going here for years now. I have 2 cats and a dog. they have a portal I can use for appointments, they have historical records on the portal and Rx updates. It's very handy to use. The staff is super personable. They are caring and informative. I feel like I learn a lot about my pet when I go there for anything. Probably the most helpful Vet I've ever had. Their prices aren't the cheapest or the most expensive but they can do just about anything there. It's not priced like a factory, they make sure all pets are comfortable during their stays there, so it's priced for its accommodative circumstances. They are up front about pricing, if they know you are struggling with prices then they will be sure to notify you what the options are prior to beginning any treatment.

The staff were incredibly friendly, got her taken care of quickly, and she came out smiling bigger than ever. We will use UHAH from here on out!

Dr. Belew is beyond amazing and Dr. Locke is so great too! UAH always follows up after each visit to see how my girl is doing too. Highly recommend this animal clinic!

Experiencia fantástica: I have taken my cat twice now for routine checks and to discuss preventative treatments. They found early onset arthritis at a young age and immediately told me so I am able to start treatment now. Everyone on the staff is always extremely kind and it is easy to schedule an appointment. Dr. Locke and his team are fantastic and they are very fairly priced considering how expensive veterinary care is. They are extremely busy but still make a point to give you the care and attention your pet needs as well as explain all of your options and look at pricing before you agree to anything medical. I trust them to be honest with me about my cats needs and this will be our permanent vet.

Experiencia positiva: They have saved both my cats' lives after they got into something they shouldn't have. I'm forever grateful. And they get your pet in right away if it's urgent. However, I don't go to them anymore for routine checkups because it always seems like they're trying to sell me something, whether it's tests they don't need or prescription food. They make some conditions sound more urgent than they actually are. I only know these things because I've gotten multiple other vet's opinions on several conditions, which were synonymous against what Union Hill says. On occasion, it even seems like they know what's wrong but they want to take other tests "just to be sure."

Experiencia fantástica: Union Hill Animal Hospital had my cat's condition foremost at all times. Blood Tests, Urine Tests were run for Kidney problems and vomiting. My cat is now eating and improved 100% .

Experiencia fantástica: they were able to get my cat shoe in for an appointment very short notice even though i'd never brought her here before. dr locke explained what was going on and how we were going to treat it in great detail which i was very appreciative of and hailey very patiently helped me understand how to administer shoes medications and even typed instructions out for me :) i feel like they're very reasonably priced especially considering the quality of care provided is very high. they were so sweet to shoe and even texted me the next day after our appointment to check on how she was doing. i hope to bring shoe and her sister here from now on:3

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend UAH! The staff take great care of our senior dogs. We recently adopted a spicy cat with ongoing skin and gastrointestinal issues. The clinic is always prompt, compassionate and try their best to fit her in immediately for sedation appointments. Special shout out to vet tech Chad who is always bright, kind and a master of blood draws!

They were able to get us in the following morning and they were so good with our boxer, Nala, who is normally terrified of the vet. Experiencia fantástica: I adopted a sweet male kitten earlier this week from KCPP. Unfortunately, he had a leg wound that he kept licking and removing the scab and making it bleed repeatedly. This wound began to leak pus showing sign of infection and I could tell it was causing him a lot of distress and discomfort. I called the friendly staff at Union Hill Animal Hospital and they were very understanding of my urgency to get him seen and treated so my little guy didn't have to hurt anymore. Thank you so much to Chad and Tracy who were at the front desk and gave me 5-star assistance! Vanessa was very kind to my kitten Finn and you can tell that she is very good with the animals and clearly cares a lot about their comfort. She was also able to provide me a price quote and helpful information during my visit. She took the time to explain to me visually how to administer his medication and let me know that if I had any questions I could get in touch and they would help me over the phone too. Dr. Austin called me and also took the time to go over all the information I needed regarding his treatment and other helpful tips that will ensure the best care for my feline friend. I appreciate his knowledge and insight. Finn does not enjoy his new cone- but it's perfect in discouraging him from reopening and infecting his wound. Also if you look at the bag his medication came in you can see they wrote a heart over the letter "i" in his name which made me smile as it's just such a small detail that shows me the staff here genuinely do care about the animals they treat. The facility was very clean and I enjoyed their decorations as well as how colorful the inside of the building is. You wouldn't think appearance matters but it felt more welcoming of an environment than just a dull white and gray. I highly appreciate the communication from this team and the truly stress free 5-star service I received today.

I would like to thank all of the staff at Union Hill for how they took care of my daughters dog, Bug, after she had been hit by a car. They did everything they could to save her, but her injuries were too severe. They were incredibly compassionate toward my entire family during this very difficult time. Seeing the love and care that they all exhibited was a real blessing. Bug was not a patient of theirs prior to the accident as my daughter only recently moved into the area. That did not matter. Dr Belew was very kind with how she explained all of the circumstances to us. Melissa was great when I called in to let them know Bug was on the way. All of the staff was so very kind and helpful even giving us supplies to clean up the interior of the vehicle that was used to get Bug to the clinic. THANK YOU!

Experiencia fantástica: My 14 y/o Chinese Crested sweetheart, Ping, was having urinary issues. Union Hill got me in the next day! I had to leave her at the practice for a little while and while she was there the doctor actually called me to let me know what she found and our plan of action. When I picked up Ping she came out with a really nice vet tech who gave me explicit instructions on her medications and expectations. I went away feeling like I had finally found the right veterinarian practice for my pet and I was grateful and happy. BUT THEN, the very next day the practice texted me to make sure Ping was doing okay and that all was well! That just lifted me beyond grateful to a place that I have no words for! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste time and money going anywhere else, this practice is where you need to be!

Experiencia fantástica: I was very pleased with this visit, and so was my puppers! When we walked in there were all kind of treats available for my pup. A water cooler in the waiting room and even some treats so our pups can get on the scale if there’s a bit of trouble. We were seen on time didn’t have to wait. The lady and gentlemen at the reception desk were so kind and they even offered me a bottle of water! Cody came in and was also the nicest, asked me so many good questions and listened to everything I had to say! When Dr. Locke came in he was so informative, answered every question I had and even did things my last vet failed to do. When it was time to treat my pup Cody made sure my pup was comfy. I felt so comfortable at the vet and my pup did too. This will be the only place my pup will be going for regular visits. THANK YOU ! You all are amazing!

Experiencia fantástica: The visit was very pleasant. We went in to get the pup checked for severe allergies and vet and the assistants were attentive and kind. They are a one stop shop for all things pet related which is very reassuring especially with a sick or distressed dog.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to Union hill on a rec from a friend of mine who said how amazing they are. My dog developed a skin condition out of nowhere, and we went through the gamut of tests. They explained everything to me and didn’t feed me anything but the truth. The truth being to wait for the results and not give me an answer until then. Dr Austin and Dr Williams were the ones helping me and my pup (Lily) liked them both. Gentle and caring. Empathetic and kind. The worst case scenario was real. Lily has sebaceous cancer. Her time with me is limited and now I am in the stage to make her comfortable and decide when to give her a dignified sleep. I went into the vet today to talk to Dr Williams about end of life care. She was kind, caring, and incredibly warm during a very hard time. I can’t express enough gratitude in that type of care. She will email me and told me to email her during the week with updates on Lily so she can help me navigate this hard time. I am very grateful for the entire staff at Union Hill for showing such incredible care to me and my baby. This is the hardest review I’ve ever written, and also the most worthy one. Our animals are family. Lily is my angel. Thank you for being the best vets for her.

Experiencia fantástica: I recommend Union Hill Animal Hospital to anyone who wants to have a flawless, caring, loving, and amazing experience for you and your pet! My sweet dog has been with them since I adopted her. From being fixed, to the monthly and yearly shots, to just the genuine care the have for her well-being. I recently had a scare about her allergies and being itchy. After the care of everyone here, I am continuously getting messages asking how she’s doing, making sure that what they diagnosed and prescribed her is working. The amazing professionals here have never ceased to amaze me with the care they have for my pup, the care they have for me, and the sense of relief I have knowing they care so much about us. I love y’all!!!

Experiencia positiva: Good and caring staff. Not always great at communicating. Owners should be proactive about their pet's health too in order to make up for possible deficiencies. And, don't be put off by people that are super busy and possibly stressed out. We're all human. Rather expensive, but all vets seem to be now. But, they're good people!

Experiencia fantástica: We have been going to Union Hill Animal Hospital since I moved to Kansas City, two years ago and I will never go elsewhere. The staff there is so incredible! We have seen all the doctors and they are all wonderful. Each is very knowledgeable and really takes the time to listen to my concerns and explain the best course of treatment for my 13 year old dog.

Experiencia fantástica: I couldn’t recommend this office enough. I had adopted an older dog a few years ago and they spent so long with me going through all that we knew of his medical history, offered a bunch of different things, were very transparent about costs and understanding when I couldn’t always afford everything. My dog adored going to the vet. Everyone from the front office to the MAs to the billing people to the vets all clearly love animals. Every time I called w a question they walked me through it. I had to put my buddy down recently and the compassion they showed both of us was outstanding. I’m super grateful for them!! Ps it’s worth navigating the admittedly bad traffic on Main Street at the moment

Their whole office is kind, helpful and understanding when I call looking for an appointment or to ask questions about something happening with my pet. Their communication is great. When my dog had both her legs operated on they called me with updates regularly and took great care of her. I can’t recommend them enough!!

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely do not recommend. I came twice for my large dog UTI issues. The first time was the only place able to get in over the holidays. Doctor never touched my dog. Second trip the male doctor was solely pushing his own agenda of heart worm test and prevention.Also never touched or check my dog. Sent me off without any further testing.

Experiencia fantástica: I love the care and patience from the staff at UH. Between my late pup and current pup, we have been clients since 2015, I believe. Dr. Williams is so patient with my highly-anxious dog, the vet techs are wonderful and the front desk staff is helpful in navigating in and out of the office as easily as possible. My dogs have also see Dr. Belew and Dr. Austin. So grateful for Union Hill.

Experiencia fantástica: Love them. They have a goal of keeping the pets as minimally stressed as possible. My cat hates having her temperature taken and they don't take temperatures for checkups. I've never felt rushed there. I had booked an appointment for the day of the parade to celebrate the superbowl win and the staff emailed, called, and texted me (I'm very thankful) to invite me to reschedule because their office was on the parade route. They are very accommodating.

They helped take great care of my elderly dog's conditions with several different treatments up help make his last year or so as comfortable for him as possible. And when it was time to put him down, they were amazing at helping us through it. Now they're taking care of our new pups and continue to be great with them too. They legitimately love the animals they see. If you're in the midtown area, Union Hill is a fantastic vet option for you.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Locke took great care of my 9.5 year old cavalier! I love how considerate his approach is to keeping exams low stress. As a Fear Free certified professional groomer myself, finding a vet familiar with those practices was important to me. He was familiar with her health condition, syringomyelia as well. The only thing I wish is that the exam rooms were a little quieter - the way the building construction is set up, the walls don't reach the ceiling which means you can hear animal noises and other conversations. I definitely would imagine that isn't an easy/immediate fix though. Overall a great vet clinic!

Even though they seem like business is booming, they are always great and take the time your pet needs without making you feel rushed. Whatever type of therapy or treatment your animal needs they have options. We had had animals in all stages of life go there and have never been disappointed.
