Experiencia negativa: They wouldn’t even schedule me. Super rude front desk lady. Edited to add- I am a licensed facility with written contracts in place that explicitly state I can get the dog vet care if needed. The owner is well aware of my plan but I would never do business here after the way I was treated. Since you’d like to discuss things in great detail I figured I should share mine. The front desk lady was very concerned about payment. I told her I would pay or the client would but it is actually unethical to give out my clients information without consent. Another clinic had no problem scheduling me.

As we discussed over the phone, because the reason for bringing your client’s dog in was not an emergency, we were unable to proceed without explicit consent from the pet’s legal owners. Providing care without appropriate authorization would be both unethical and potentially unlawful, and we must adhere to these standards to protect our patients, clients, and team.
When you mentioned obtaining a waiver with the owners’ approval for treatment, we were prepared to move forward with scheduling once written consent was provided. Unfortunately, without that documentation, we were unable to proceed.
If your circumstances change and you are able to supply written authorization from the owners, we would be happy to revisit scheduling an appointment.

Experiencia fantástica: Vida is the best!! I switched to them years ago because even though I rarely take my dog in- she has been healthy and mainly go for yearly checkups- I feel like family. They are extremely friendly and patient and I feel like my dog and I are the most important part of their day. The Dr spend the time with you, answer questions etc. I highly highly recommend. Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my cat to Vida for nearly 10 years now, and they always take excellent care of her. Everyone is very friendly and compassionate, and they have helped me find specialist care when needed. I will say some prices for services are a little higher than other vet offices in the area (nail trims, teeth cleaning), but in my opinion it's worth every penny. Highly recommend this office!

Experiencia fantástica: We've been going to Vida since we got our pup in 2021. They have always been kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They are patient when I ask all my worried dog mom questions and respond quickly to emails, they even sent me a chart of my dog's weight so I could track it. The techs there are especially awesome, we see them the most since my dog hates nail trims and they are always so nice and welcoming. We now drive over 30 minutes since we have moved just so we can continue to go to Vida Vet Care.

Experiencia positiva: Just moved to the area and while out walking in the neighborhood, we found Vida Veterinary Care. We needed to get our new puppy’s final round of shots and we just walked in. They were able to accommodate us in a little over an hour wait time for a walk-in. Phenomenal! Dr. Bodell and Kevin were great with Clark W. Made us feel like we chose the right veterinarian. Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Vida veterinary care since I adopted my dog in 2019. They have always taken care of us and have had my best interest in mind by being open to ways I can save money (emergency visits can be expensive). The most recent experience I had was taking my dog to the emergency vet, but the team was able to get me scheduled for a regular vet visit. The doctors quickly saw my dog and we were off in a couple of minutes, my peace of mind in tact with confidence Hachi would be okay. Experiencia fantástica: Compassionate, accessible, knowledge care. Vida has been able to see our pet rats on short notice at affordable rates (similar time frames but less than 1/2 of emergency vets' rates). So grateful we know about this place for our fur babies!

Experiencia negativa: My vet's xray machine was down so I was referred to Vida to get the xrays done. Having seen positive reviews previously, i was interested to check them out. Unfortunately I had a horrible experience. My vet had spoken to Vida and said the xrays would be around $400. When I called to book the appointment, I was also told the xrays would be $415 which aligned with the info I had been provided by my vet. When we arrived we were placed in a room with a bit of a wait due to them being behind. When the tech came into the room, the first thing she said was I want to let you know this is going to be more than you were told, it is going to be $869! Since when do xrays cost almost $900? And, when you were emailing with me earlier in the day, and also had my phone number, if there was a change to the quote that was more than double, why would you not check in to let me know prior to the appointment that the price had sky rocketed in an effort to not waste either of our time if I was not comfortable with the price? I got up and left quite angry, and the tech got an attitude with me. I am not sure why she would have thought I would be perfectly fine hearing the cost had more than doubled from the night before to almost $900. Definitely not a good experience! Thankfully my vet worked with me the following day to get me into a specialist and now we will be getting the xrays and a consult for the $400 I was initially expecting to pay

To provide some clarity, the estimate your primary veterinarian relayed was for two standard views. At the appointment, additional views were requested, which significantly increased the number of images needed and therefore adjusted the cost. We always strive to be transparent with our pricing, and our team did their best to explain this difference during your visit.
We regret that you felt the need to leave before we could work with you to find the best solution. Our goal is always to provide care that is both compassionate and clear, and we’ll be reviewing this situation with our team to ensure we communicate more effectively in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: I loved having my sweet girl Angel visit with this vet clinic! She is a shy cat and tends to get antsy when visiting the vet. It was a totally different story here with her seeing Bailey (I’m sorry if I misspelled your name ) and Dr. Bodell! They were able to get a blood draw and give her a shot, two things we’ve tried before at different clinics back home and were never able to get done because Angel was too timid. I really appreciate how focused Dr. Bodell and Bailey were on making sure Angel wasn’t made more uncomfortable than necessary (they lowered her crate to the ground and let her explore the exam room). This visit was a breeze and I’m happy that this team isn’t too far from me. Angel and I will be back soon!

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing team! Our tegu, Blue, decided that he would like to be a bird instead of a reptile and he took a flying leap off the second floor landing onto the main floor of the house. The team at Vida not only got him in immediately for a full check-up, they called to check on him in the following days. They got him in again very quickly for a follow up to address any lingering concerns from the fall and treated him like royalty. If you are the human caretaker of a reptile that dreams of being a bird, you are taking your adventurous creature to the right place for care...

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Katy LeVon and her team took amazing care of my dog. I went in with her being unable to walk, incredibly lethargic, and no longer herself. She was quickly helped, diagnosed, and had her life saving surgery performed. Experiencia fantástica: I haven't been to Vida for a few years but my dog tore his pad and was hoping not to have to go to the ER. I typically go to another vet closer to home, but it usually takes weeks to get an appointment. I was able to make an appointment on Friday for Saturday morning (I love the on-line scheduler). Everyone was so friendly and caring, from the check-in staff, vet tech, and vet. My dog was very at ease and well taken care of. And they just called to check in on him. Great care! Highly recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: I don’t even know where to start explaining how amazing they are especially Dr. Dwight and Kevin who helped me with my bearded dragon. Dr. Dwight ended up having to do surgery on my bearded dragon and did an amazing spectacular jaw dropping (literally) Job. As all pet parents are, I was so nervous and anxious about my baby having to have surgery, but the entire team made me feel comforted and reassured that he was going to be taken well care of! Experiencia fantástica: I was able to get a same day appointment for one of my dogs who was having issues. Dr. Gelatt & Kevin were wonderful! We were seen promptly. They quickly assessed Luna & she loved them. Very friendly staff. I'm switching from my current vet to Vida for all 3 of my dogs!

Experiencia fantástica: Always kind to my skittish cat & willing to work with me on cost. Won’t recommend unnecessary procedures —Couldn’t get the weird lump on my cat’s rib cage tested (they took a sample last year & told me nothing looked abnormal) bc this year they they couldn’t find it! 2 techs & a vet & I all checked him thoroughly & couldn’t find it, so I guess it went away (which is a good thing). So I really appreciate them not recommending other tests he doesn’t need, bc a lot of other vet clinics I’ve used in the past would def would do that. Thanks again!

Experiencia fantástica: We needed urgent care for our rabbit on a Saturday afternoon and our regular vet (we live further south) was fully booked and recommended Vida for their after hours emergency care. They were quick to get her in and thorough with her visit. She ended up just needing some minor care. They fixed her right up and it was super affordable for a last minute urgent care visit. If we lived in the area we would definitely use this place as our regular vet. The staff were all so knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Would highly recommend!

My dog and cats are my world and over the years my critters have been through some very unexpected and scary challenges, Vida was there for me. Experiencia negativa: Both our dog and our cat have had medical problems that were apparent on labs from their wellness exams but were ignored by Vida Vet. This is very frustrating as veterinary care is expensive and both pets would have benefited from earlier detection. My cat has Stage 2 CKD according to another DVM based on his lab work and Vida Vet never contacted me at all about his lab work nor mentioned anything concerning. Our dog’s recent labs showed a dangerously low blood sugar but we were told her labs were normal. After she had several seizures and we took her to the emergency vet, they were able to identify a problem with her blood sugar that was apparent in her lab work from 2 weeks prior at her wellness exam at Vida as well as the new lab work at the ER. This is terribly frustrating as we love our pets very much and pay a lot of money to ensure they are well. We will be taking our business elsewhere but I encourage all patrons of Vida to do review your pets lab work yourself or get a second opinion if you have any concerns. Update: I appreciate the response and understand that no one is being intentionally negligent. As stated, I did not receive any communication regarding my cats labs and the dog I am referring to is under my husband’s account and not mine (I have two dogs).
Sarah, we take the health and well-being of all pets very seriously and we regret that we didn't meet your expectations. According to our records, you declined routine early detection labs (major organ function and blood cell health) for your dog at their annual visit in November. However, you elected at that time to test for heartworm disease, and it was reported to you that she was negative (good news!). When we saw your cat in August this year, we reported to you that his lab work was unremarkable overall, and we recommended a repeat test in November to continue monitoring values that are early detectors for renal disease. According to our records, this repeat panel has not been performed. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our services. We will take your concerns into consideration and work on improving our communication and attention to detail. Experiencia fantástica: Update in 2024 - Since my prior review (2017?) I have continued as a client of Vida Veterinary Care and remain thrilled with the level of care for both of my dogs. The whole team has helped with with continued normal maintenance care, and to navigate some really tough challenges with the dogs - my younger dog experiences IBD flare ups (vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stools), and my older dog has kidney disease and ate another rock. We work with Dr Levon a lot - she is so caring and helps me determine the right level of care for both of them; I always feel like I'm able to make the best decision for my dogs and have so much confidence in their care. We love going to see our friends there! <3 I brought my dog here with a tummy ache that turned out to be an ingested rock that would require emergency surgery to get it out. After an emotional roller coaster of overnight surgery and the ensuing couple weeks of recovery, it is hard to put into words how grateful I am to Vida Veterinary Care. They took great care of my dog, were thorough, communicative and patient with me. Everyone on staff there is kind and always take the time to explain things to me, or take a look at something for me "just in case". Even on trips back for checks, my dog still races in to say hi to everyone.

Experiencia negativa: Go anywhere else but here. This practice is part of a corporate vet conglomerate, and they are only concerned about taking your money. They will prolong your pet's suffering if there's more money in it. I have never had a worse experience. They are rude and incompetent. Go to Aspen Commons or Broadview Vets instead. Or literally ANY other veterinarian!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been taking my animals here for a few years. The prices have slowly gone up over the years, which I’ve dealt with because the care was ok. But today, today was absolutely unacceptable. I had a scheduled euthanasia for my senior cat. Let me preface the rest of the review with, the vet tech that helped us was very kind. However, the lack of guidance and empathy from who I can only assume was the vet, because she didn’t introduce herself before bursting into the room without explaining anything, or asking if we were ready before euthanasia was more than shocking, it was traumatic. When my daughter asked to speak to the “red head” because what occurred was so entirely insensitive, she could hear her on the other side of the wall making jokes about coming in to talk to us. The process of putting a family pet down is already incredibly sad, it should not be traumatic on top of it. I will never bring my pets back or recommend Vida Vet Care to anyone ever again.

My poor old dog is going without pain pills while I figure out how to get them after paying $400 for a visit. Experiencia negativa: I'm out of state for work for a few months and my dog is on a high dose gabapentin due to chronic shaking from a back injury and prescription diet due to previous GI issues they refused to refill the prescriptions stating she had to be seen. Without any warning my dog has gone from 200mg a day to 0. Working in neuro field I know for a fact there are withdrawal symptoms and they tried to tell me there weren't. She has been whining all week and is in pain. So explained the severity and they sent me a week's worth of the med via pdf. Even though i cant get into a vet until next week due to the holiday. Im not made of money to go to an Emergency vet for meds. I'm having issues getting it filled with walgreens due to its PDF format. I asked Vida if they could fax since I dont have a printer. Theyre stating i should print it at a library and take it into the pharmacy. Is this the 80s? They refused to electronically send or fax it. At the last refill I should've been notified that it would be the last so I could better prepare my dog. I'm so over this place and their disregard for my elderly dog who is in pain due to their neglect!

Experiencia negativa: Spent an hour waiting to be seen for an emergency visit. Vet that was in didn’t even look at the correct leg on my duck. Is saying she is favoring the leg that it’s very clear she’s putting all of her weight on. Insists the duck magically was walking normally on both legs even though the issue has been going on for days. Didn’t care what I had to say at all and was very dismissive. owners response update- I called the practice and asked multiple times for the owner to call me. After paying for medication that couldn’t even be used, Dr.Hodder also claimed my ducks wing was fine upon exam. It was broken completely in half. I paid for all kinds of medication I was never even able to use because a reputable vet, was able to diagnose her the following day and she is no longer with us. This practice not only missed her leg being broken, her wing being broken clear in half, prescribed a bunch of medicine we will never use, but also missed a bone density issue. Had I listened to this vets diagnosis and followed their treatment my animal would have been living in an insane amount of pain. No follow up ever from the owner or the manager as promised by the staff either. Evolution is a great place to take exotics. I’d never trust this place or their care again. Dr. Hodder is extremely lost to call herself and exotics vet and miss everything she did. Super unprofessional and to not call back when my animal was misdiagnosed… truly wild. They made their money and that’s clearly all that ever mattered.

Experiencia fantástica: We are SO GRATEFUL for the team at Vida. When we brought our dog in urgently we did not know at the time that she was in anaphylactic shock. Dr. Rubin, Brittany, Viki and their techs immediately jumped into action to stabilize our dog and run diagnostics, compassionately keeping us informed the entire time. They figured out what was going on and treated her fairly quickly. We are thankful to live so close to the clinic and are relieved to know we have a great place to go in case of another emergency.

Experiencia negativa: I tried to schedule an appointment for a sanitary shave, which is a five minute appointment where somebody would likely hold the cat with a towel and somebody else would shave the behind. They want me to buy gabapentin which I already had, and they wanted to quote me for full sedation. They were asking me to pay several hundred dollars for a non-invasive procedure that usually costs about $30. You don’t need to fully sedate a cat for a sanitary shave. That’s just ridiculous.

All things considered, we had an emergency with one of our chickens and they got us in right away at 9:30pm, since our regular Avian vet was closed. The tech was professional and we did not feel pressured into any procedures. We felt we could make our own informed decisions with animal care. Dr. Gosselin was so nice and welcoming as well and listened to everything we had to tell her. Even though the office is pretty far from us, we will definitely return with our Avians whether it be an emergency or not. Thank you Vida!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Gosselin & Joshua were life savers this past week! My young Sun Conure, Pyro, started going downhill on Tuesday after I noticed he began acting lethargic and scratching his ears. He had an appointment for his regular vet that Friday, but while I was watching him closely he began vomiting and slowly declining. We decided we couldn’t wait and that there was a chance he would not make it until then. I called VIDA in a panic because they are a recommended vet here in NOCO in an avian emergency or urgent situation. Good avian vets are so sparse here and in an emergency even more so. They immediately answered and we quickly decided I should bring him down as an urgent care patient. We live an hour north but got in the car and drove our way down! They were ready for him as soon as we got there, made sure he was stable, and got him all ready to be checked out. I thoroughly approve of their very detailed bird intake, 5 stars for an awesome questionnaire. They were so welcoming and kind; Dr. Gosselin let me hold him while she gently listened and checked him over. Joshua was so wonderful, made sure we were comfortable, and that Pyro was as well. Dr. Gosselin did a crop swab and fecal; he had some funky bacteria in there so she thought some stronger antibiotics and some pain meds were the way to go. She didn’t try to push any unnecessary tests unless he was still not better and would need them later on. She explained everything to us in detail. So amazing! The bill was also incredibly reasonable, we were shocked at how much less it was than we were expecting. They both made it an easier and comforting experience despite how worried I was. They let me know I could call or bring him back in anytime before 10pm multiple times if he still wasn’t improving and even recommended another emergency vet (Evolution) if he was dire and they weren’t there! All of this was so important to me, as I had a horrible experience not long ago with a vet up here that resulted in the loss of one of my bird babies. This was the total opposite experience and they absolutely washed my anxiety away. I recommend them to anyone here in CO with birds in a situation like Pyro’s. I am so pleased to say Pyro has improved tremendously in the last few days and he is almost back to his normal, crazy self! Thank you Dr. Gosselin & Joshua; I am forever grateful you have helped my sweet boy feel so much better.

Experiencia negativa: I took my rabbit here for an overnight emergency visit , took him to another ER vet 24 hours later and they showed me SEVERE bruising on almost the entire left leg / backside of my rabbit. I was horrified. It must have happened during his visit at Vida, borderline animal abuse? There’s no reason he should have had bruising like that unless he was dropped/ roughly handled. I have never been back. I took my other rabbit here, they noted his dry hocks and … didn’t tell me ? I only found out because I transferred records from here to another vet. I would highly recommend not going here.

Experiencia fantástica: My rescue chameleon has been having lots of problems recently, some reoccurring from her former home and some new ones. Dr Zalesak and Joshua were very kind and knowledgeable when working with me and my girl. In the end we decided to go with hospice care treatment for my chameleon. I would 100% go back again if she or any future chameleons of mine were sick or injured. 5 stars, I thank the whole staff for helping us through this tough time.

Also $600 for an x-ray and medicine that is unbelievable.they didn’t know what they were talking about and they did not explain very well. This place just wants your money. All the workers in the back laughing but can’t help us is unbelievable. When they have 4 workers. Never bring your pet here, Worst experience ever!!

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: They are responsible for the death of my dog and they tried to lie about it. I know it sounds crazy but it’s true. I won’t share the story at this time but don’t make the mistake I made by trusting them. Also, I have learned they have cruel tactics like “grip and rip” for injured claws, no numbing or pain management. So friendly and prompt in their response! Additionally, I really like that they have a system that allows them to know who is calling before they even pick up the phone; this makes it really easy to make appointments or even start asking questions in urgent situations! Lastly, the text-to-confirm system is so helpful. Outside of the technology/scheduling, the staff are very friendly and do not appear to cut corners, nor do they seem to order unnecessary tests. Every time I have brought my dog into see them, they have done a great job of communicating and explaining what is going on and why. Hands down, this has been my favorite vet experience in Denver.

Experiencia negativa: We have been bringing our two dogs here for years and have always had a great experience (save a handful of times we dealt with incredibly rude staff on the phone and at reception). We loved it so much that we referred four other friends here— and they all had good experiences too, until recently. Staff on the phone and at reception has gotten somehow ruder, prices have gone way up, and they seem more concerned about money than actual care. They tried to force us to book two separate appointments for our dogs— which they never did before, this seems very much like a cash grab only—and when we said this was difficult because of our work schedules and we never were required to do this in the past, they said they would make an exception (?!) but required an almost $200 deposit for the appointment. Ridiculous. We have never been asked for a deposit for an appointment before and I know this is not common practice at other clinics (in case Vida responds and says this is due to missed appointments or something, and/or to protect other clients and doctor and staff time: whenever we’ve had a missed appointment, save once, it was due to a mix-up on their end, which we were either blamed for or not informed of, and once during Covid when we were at the appointment on time and called the clinic, but no one answered. By the time they did answer, we were ‘late’ and they refused to see us). Additionally, staff on the phone was snarky, not at all helpful and wanted to argue with us about their policies and prices. Given that things have gotten much more expensive here, policies have changed without notice and make booking appointments way more inconvenient, and the multiple and mounting unsavory experiences we’ve had with staff in the past (never the doctors), we decided to switch clinics. We asked twice for our dogs records to be sent over and were told they would be, but this never happened. Our new clinic— which is already light years better; friendlier, significantly more affordable, incredibly accommodating, much more thorough, genuinely seems to care about their clients and the animals they see— now has to call to get our dogs records. We’ll see if Vida ever releases them. It’s a shame, we used to love Vida but something significant has changed. Sadly thus place has just gotten worse and seems to continue going downhill. I highly recommend you find another clinic— there are so many better ones in Denver!

Experiencia fantástica: Update 11/22/23 - I have brough all my cats here and they all have received wonderful care, they do a great job of being up front and transparent about pricing. Both of my cats were here purring away, the staff is so incredible and caring. 11/24/22 - I had to bring my cat in on Thanksgiving night, they were more than understanding and caring. They ran bloodwork, determined the best course of action and were very open and transparent about pricing and options I had. Ultimately we had to put my cat down, they let me spend as much time as I needed with her and were very respectful and caring. Everyone I came into contact here was so nice and compassionate. I came to pick up her ashes a few days later, they even were able to fufill my request of having a nose print instead of a paw print. They included a very sweet handwritten card that I really appreciated. I will gladly bring my other cat here for care.

Their kindness, authenticity, and attention to detail is unmatched regarding their care for animals, and their customer service skills. Best Vida Vet team that I've experienced in years. They not only eased Moosh's anxiety, they eased mine too! I am happy to put the trust of Moosh's care in their hands, and that really means a lot. Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my 3 dogs to Vida Vet care for years now and have received nothing but the best care. The staff are incredibly kind and patient with my dogs and always make sure they are comfortable with what they are doing. My dogs have had procedures done here from a spay to two mass removals and all surgeries have gone well and my dogs healed up great. I also love that I can reach them via email with questions that I don't need urgently answered. I seriously cannot say enough about the wonderful staff and their care of my dogs who are my family.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely atrocious price gauging here. Don't bring your animals here. They act nice and then overcharge to the extreme. $416 for an X-ray. ridiculous. My cat was throwing up and not able to keep any food down for 48 hours so we brought her in to get checked out. Less than 24 hours later I am leaving with a $2000 bill. There was no diagnosis. There was NOTHING WRONG with my cat except she was dehydrated. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and letting them know this is the WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. Heartless and unwilling to compromise on any level. Preying on people when they are weak and in fear, way to go Vida veterinary. I literally spent 30+ minutes crying in their office explaining how I do not have the ability to come up with that kind of money and they reminded me that I was approved for the Care Credit card (which of course they let me use their computer to apply for right out of the gate after we arrived for our appointment.) How convenient. And my bill is almost exactly the amount I was approved for. Coincidence?!! I think not. I am just disgusted how profit-driven they are and I am angry at myself for not doing more research before walking in there in the first place. I have learned my lesson. I believed that the people who cared for animals professionally would have some type of compassion and decency. Now I know otherwise. My faith in humanity has been destroyed by this situation. My spirit is heavy. Thanks Vida Vets, you should be so proud. Way to kick a pet parent when they are down, then let them wallow in their poor choice as they struggle to pay for the next 6 months. How do you people sleep at night???

Experiencia fantástica: A couple months back, I had to take a bunny that I was pet sitting in because of a fight between two bunnies. She had to get stitches, and they took really good care of her. Last week, my bunny ripped his nail while running in his bedroom and they bandaged him up and gave him pain medication. Both times they were kind, did good work, and explained directions and answered any questions well. I don't like going to the emergency vet, but feel confident in their hands.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank Dr. Schroeder & the staff at Vida enough for their care with my kitty. I brought my cat in after moving and her not eating for quite a few days. While other vets panicked & scared me more, the Vida staff treated me with empathy & compassion. They got me in for a regular appointment within an hour and a half of opening following Labor Day weekend! Thankfully we had a best case scenario & my kitty’s blood test came back great. Within a few hours of an appetite stimulant & fluids my kitty was back to eating & feeling noticeably better. Thank you again!

Experiencia negativa: Brought my baby budgie here a few months ago for a check up. The vet did the exam cross-legged on the facility floor because an exam table was apparently unavailable, even though I'd booked the appointment in advance. The vet seemed misinformed about budgie gender indicators. She misgendered my baby budgie and then casually told me that my older, 2nd budgie (who was at home) was very likely a male with cancer, and would die soon due to the red/brown cere color. (A red/brown cere is typical of female budgies during mating season, although it can sometimes be a sign of hormonal problems or cancer in males). When I became distraught, the vet backtracked and said she couldn't determine any illness without seeing the other budgie. This experience was upsetting for me and I was disappointed in the vet's lack of bedside manner. I was also grossed out that the exam was performed on the floor. Furthermore, I called the office twice with follow-up questions regarding the baby budgie and neither of my calls were returned. I'm giving two stars because they offer emergency, after-hours care. From now on I'm going to a different vet. Adding a photo of the egg that my very much female budgie laid. VIDA staff - please take care with your language in the future, and buy a few more exam tables!

Experiencia fantástica: I love this vet office, get it has emergency hours. All the stuff are friendly and caring. Took dog here when she had a accident and got her nail caught. They took care of her right away. They do all her shots and listen with any questions I might have. I moved far away compared to when I picked this vet but staying with them, they are worth the drive.

Experiencia fantástica: To say Olivia is not a fan of the vet is an understatement. She has severe anxiety the minute we walk in. This was my first time visiting and I explained how she could be. The vet techs were so understanding and patient with Olivia. When they saw her becoming anxious they didn't keep pushing her. It saved all of us a lot of unnecessary aggravation. They sedated her immediately and brought her into the room a few times so I could see her. This is such a great gesture since I'm always a little concerned when she needs to go under. Dr. Williams was great too. He took his time with her and with me on explaining all that he did for the visit. We just moved to Denver and I found this vet clinic and I am so happy we did! Experiencia positiva: I hate to leave a 3 star review after a decade of 5 star service, but the level of service here has declined to the point that I have decided to switch vets. I've been taking my cat here for 10 years and she has severe kidney issues. The nursing/tech folks here are amazing and the doctors have seemed competent. In the last year or so their communication with each other (we come in and see the entire team of docs whenever they are on call) and with me has failed miserably. When I first called in to bring my cat to urgent care no one answered and I left a message saying I could bring her in within 1-4 hours. I never heard back, but she was very sick so I loaded her up and drove the 40 minutes to Vida. When I walked in the receptionist (he seemed newish) told me he forgot to call me back to say they couldn't see her for another 4-6 hours. It is not easy or nice to load a sick cat in and out of the car twice or being in the car to nearly 3 hours two trips, and this ended up killing my entire day. The original antibiotics they prescribed were not the right ones (sort of understandable) so they switched us (add $500 for 2 days) and failed to communicate the new pill timeline correctly. I took my cat to another vet for a second opinion (first time ever) who has now told me my cat has severe tooth/oral lesions that have been in the making for years and could absolutely be contributing to her not eating/drinking and her getting recurring UTIs/kidney issues. They also told me that she has a heart murmur, which was in her chart from Vida, but Vida never told me. Sorry to say we are switching vets. I do appreciate how supportive the nurses and techs were to us for 10 years.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a fantastic experience with the VIDA team over the weekend. My dog was attacked by another dog during a walk, and she needed immediate medical attention. The VIDA team picked up the phone as soon as I called, took her in right away and treated her quickly and carefully. Experiencia fantástica: I love this vet. They take really good care of my guinea pigs. The staff are all so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and the clinic is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Dr. Z really knows a lot about guinea pigs! She handled my piggy so well. I was very impressed. Glad I found this vet in Denver; it’s hard to find places that know how to care for guinea pigs.

Experiencia fantástica: Honestly I've been coming here for 7 years now, as it covers all my cats needs for both the regular appointments, as well as the after hours or emergency needs for any sudden events or accidents that my cat has made over the years. Always happy to see my cat, willing to talk me through bills and procedures, provide info about care after any surgeries, and have managed to help keep my costs fairly low for major procedures. Overall, I would always recommend their services, and have done so in the past. Photos are just my happy cat, but hey - it's due in large part to Vida!

Experiencia fantástica: Vida is the only place I will go for my lizards, whether it’s regular check ups or medical services. Anytime I come in the technicians immediately bring a heat lamp and try to make the time safe and comfortable. The staff is extremely thorough and you can tell they truly care about all animals brought in. They’ve always been very supportive during the harder conversations and worked with me to make sure my lizards get the best care possible. I trust them 100% :)

Experiencia negativa: I wanted to stay at this Vet, been coming here for years, but at our last visit we had a lot of issues. We saw Dr Kaplan-Stien and a few days after my appointment I had questions about several things, including the food RX. I specifically told the Dr. that my pup had a chicken allergy- but the food Dr Kaplan-Stien prescribed was for a brand that only offers chicken flavor. (???) So I called and requested a call back. I had questions about the other RX’s as well (i felt she prescribed too many things, as many of them offered the same benefits). I was later told the Dr had gone on vacation and would get back to me soon. My dog is limping and is in pain. We needed the RX’s filled right away but couldn’t do anything until I talked to the Doctor, so after weeks and weeks of phone tag and leaving numerous messages, I’m moving to a new Vet. Please don’t do this to your customers and their pets. This has been a very bad experience for me.

Experiencia fantástica: I am so SO extremely thankful for the doctors at VIDA. My husband and I were temporarily relocated to Denver for a few months and our hamster, JJ, suddenly got sick. Although we knew it was our time, I couldn't sit and watch her pass away and drove her to VIDA where the staff were waiting with open arms for her so that they could euthanize her. Unfortunately, she passed before they were able to see her, but the staff was so sympathetic and extremely compassionate. They offered cremation services so we can take her home with us, which brought me some comfort. Thank you so much, VIDA. My husband and I have never met such amazing people!

Experiencia negativa: Came here for years without issue. The last appointment I had for my cat was an hour-long wait in the exam room. I eventually walked into the back area to get the attention of the staff, who had clearly forgotten about me. Today I was denied my appointment because I was 10 minutes late due to traffic. The receptionist told me it was because they want provide “the best care” for my pet. At least give your poor receptionist something better to say when you waste (former) loyal customers time.

Experiencia fantástica: Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Vida Vet. They've taken great care of all three of our animals over the past couple of years (2 cats and a dog), their prices are very reasonable, and their hours are very flexible so we're always able to get pet care even in emergency situations. Recently we unfortunately had to put down our senior cat as he was extremely sick and was showing serious signs of cancer. It was a hard day but they were able to have us seen very quickly and they very clearly and compassionately went through all of our options. When we finally did decide to put him down they made the process as compassionate and humane as possible and even sent us a handwritten letter later to share their condolences. We really appreciate everything they do there and they really have a wonderful staff. We hope to continue getting care from them for years to come.

Experiencia fantástica: I am a client at the Centennial location but was very relieved to be able to bring my dog here on Christmas morning because he had a worrisome new symptom. Thank you for letting us be seen this morning, I was so worried. We were just grateful to get in today. This location might even be a tad closer to me actually! Everyone at Vida vet care has been excellent, compassionate and also upfront about costs which is awesome. I appreciate having a ballpark idea of what my visits are going to run. Thank you so much for seeing us today. I hope everyone at Vida has a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. Update: I had to put my dog down due to brachycardia two days later. His heart was so weak he couldn't walk to get water or go potty on his own. He really acted like he was OK on Sunday morning and I wish he could have had some relief in the two days before he died, but he is free of that now. He really went downhill fast, so if your older dog is having weird new symptoms, please bring them in asap. And get yourself pet insurance while they're young and healthy or you'll have a tough time affording veterinary care when something like this happens. I'm thankful we were seen Sunday and I'm even more thankful for the service caring pathways provided us in the end.

Experiencia positiva: I selected this vet office because during the Covid period, my dogs were sick and no one else would take us in right away, their schedules were two weeks out or more. In some cases they didn't even respond back, or took them a while to return my call. I had called at least half a dozen vet offices. VIDA called back the same day and got my dog in pretty quickly. The only complaint I have is, there's no paperwork for what your dog has been seen for, etc. They follow-up to see how your dog is doing, I do appreciate that.

They told me it was a toss up on whether she would make it, but did a great job explaining to me what they were doing to help her through it. Experiencia positiva: Awesome team overall. Minus is that new patient first visit price for my pet needs was outrageous (xrays prices are high)! But. They took me in same day for urgent care and it was a Saturday. (My only other choice was ER at other very busy clinic). Very little wait times and very caring personnel!

Experiencia fantástica: I am beyond thankful for this clinical! I have sugar gliders and 1 of mine had cancer she also had Seizures. The night I brought her here I had to put her down but they waited for me I stayed a little after they closed to say my goodbyes and they were beyond understanding The part I loved most is that the vet that night DID NOT beat around the bush. She told me exactly what she thought but she also gave me options if I decide I wanted to. But myself and the vet knew it was time I got get Cremated and that only took a few days. She came home in a beautiful box urn and some awesome stuff with it. Thank you Vida

Experiencia fantástica: We had a late night emergency with our Sun Conure, they were the only place open and they were 100 miles away. So we set off for Denver, 2 hours later we were greeted by the staff and Manolo was promptly tended to. A short while later he was brought back to us. He was going to be ok, although It was going to be a long recovery. They staff was great on the phone and in person. To any pet parent the cost was minimal compared to the 2 hours of worry filled driving. Can't thank them enough! Highly recommend!!!

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Ever since Vida took over UHills Veterinary care we have noticed a significant decline in pet care and treatment of the owners. It’s clear they care more about their revenue than taking care of the animals. They churn through vets quickly and put newly licensed vets on direct patient care with minimal oversight. We brought our dog in for what seemed to be an ear infection to have the vet lift her ear up to “look” at the ear canal to determine she was fine…after bringing her back 3 different times we finally found a competent vet (Dr LeVon) who swabbed her ears and got us on a good plan of care. Unfortunately, our dog now has permanent ear drum damage. We tried to give this place a chance again, but they just continue to disappoint. Whatever you do, choose a different clinic and stay away from this corporate VIDA Veterinary Care company. It’s a scam and their egos and financials mean more to them than actually treating your pets with dignity, love and affection. Also, don’t get me started with their office manager. Jacky is rude, condescending, and I’m sure she’ll be dismissive about this review as she threatened to call the cops on me because I threatened to lambast their clinic on social media. Good luck to anyone who takes their pet to this location. You’ll be paying out the nose for service all while they don’t truly care for your pet’s well-being.
Mackenzie, thank you for taking the time to post your concerns. We take negative reviews very seriously, as we are always doing our best to provide the highest quality of care for our clients. However, after reviewing what you wrote, we feel it is necessary to provide more insight, as many of the points you made in your review do not provide adequate context. Most of our veterinary staff have been on board with our practice for 5+ years. As we have grown, we have welcomed new team members, and take great consideration to their training and growth. These team members are given ample training and remain with a mentor to oversee care cases as needed for several months. Until your recent visit on Wednesday, we were under the impression that things were going smoothly, and your dog was getting the care she needed. According to the medical record from your last visit with us on 9/1, both of your dog’s ear canals and tympanic membranes appeared normal and healthy - we did not note any signs of ear infection or permanent ear drum damage. We recommended starting a monthly ear wash regimen to help reduce bothersome buildup and to recheck as needed after that.
The time of all our clients is valuable, and we never want to take advantage of any of our clients time by running behind schedule, which is why we have a late policy in place. When you arrived late for your appointment Wednesday, our receptionist tried to explain this policy and work on solutions to get you seen, you immediately became irate and disrespectful towards her. When you began to escalate, refused to leave, and began engaging negatively with other our receptionist asked me for additional support. You and I stepped into an exam room so I could better understand your concerns and what happened. We were having an amicable conversation until I tried explain our late policy and started to look for solutions to get you seen and offered a next day appointment at 8am or being seen at our sister location later in the day. After this you immediately became irate and again were disrespectful towards our team and caused concern among the many other patients waiting in the lobby. We asked you multiple times to leave and after you continued to refuse, we felt our only option left was to call the police.
Veterinary care is a mutual bond of trust between you, as a client, and us as a care giver. This trust has regretfully been broken. Therefore, as promised, your dog’s complete medical record have been sent to you by mail. We will continue to help facilitate information with a new practice to the best of our ability as well. Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been using VIDA Vet Care for several years now and have always had great experiences… this includes both routine visits, as well emergent visits such as after our beagle decided to eat a whole Easter basket. Dr. Schroeder and Dr. Engmark in particular are very helpful and be sure to take the time to listen and explain things. The facility is also very clean, bright, etc. Definitely recommend for good vet care.

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely fantastic experience. My cat was struggling to breathe and I rushed him to the ER. The staff were fast and friendly. I've had him since he was a kitten and have been taking him to the vet for over 8 years and these guys were the first to tell me he had a heart murmur (amongst other things). They brought me up to speed and send me home with the proper medication and guidelines to keep him healthy and happy. 5/5 10/10.

Experiencia negativa: I will never take my dog to VIDA Vet on Colorado and Warren again - and for that matter any future pet. Last Friday I took my Yorkie in for a urine check. When she came out of the exam room she was limping. The Vet Tech said it took four people (4 people for a Yorkie??) to hold her down to get the sample. By the time we got home she could not put any weight on her right front paw. We immediately took her back as she was walking just fine when we arrived at the first appointment. The doctor advised pain meds and if she was not better to bring her in for pro bono xrays. We brought her in Monday as she was no better and they have refused to honor what the Vet told us. The office manager was rude and dismissive. Please don't take your animal there. Who knows what will happen to them in an exam room without your supervision.
Donna, as we discussed at length today, three of our staff members handled your dog when taking the initial urine samples on 7/29 (two for proper restraint technique and one to take a sterile sample from her bladder). When you notified our staff of your concerns that she was limping, we took quick action to make things right and saw you on emergency hours later that day at no charge. Our vet did a full orthopedic examination and did not find any evidence of pain or injury but suspected what you saw could have been related to a muscle strain. She further recommended you treat your dog with the already prescribed Gabapentin from a previous visit and scripted out Trazadone to help reduce stress and provide further comfort. She relayed to you then that if no improvement was made within 24 hours, that we would recheck with some xrays at no cost. We talked to you later that evening when you were concerned the new medication regimen was not working and got approval from another vet to increase dosing to every 8 hours if needed. We did not hear from you after that until you came in for your appointment this morning. Our staff got me involved today to help problem solve after you expressed concerns about paying for a recheck exam and taking xrays. I listened to your concerns thoroughly and I offered to comp the recheck exam today (as we did on ER 7/29) but said I think it was fair for you to pay for diagnostic testing because it was beyond our 24-hour offer. Our conversation was very diplomatic and appropriate until another member of your family came in the room and was immediately belligerent. I refuse to be talked down to, accused of only being concerned about profit, or to have belittling comments mouthed at me or my staff – all of which were done by your family member or you toward the end of our discussions. I excused myself from the conversation at that point as a means of professionalism. Experiencia fantástica: We have been taking our animals to VIDA for quite some time now. While they are affordable, they were not the absolute cheapest vet we could find. VIDA were one of the few vets we could find with a ferret expert available. We have visited VIDA for routine examinations all the way to a surgery for our dog. Each time the staff has been friendly, engaging, and provided excellent care. This has been consistent through the years and for each of our animals. To us this has made the price worthwhile, as we always know we'll be getting great care for our animals and have staff who carefully explain to us what we need to know to best care for our pets. I can heartily recommend VIDA if you're looking for an affordable vet without getting less than excellent care for your pets.
