Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I had to make the awful decision of putting down our dog. All of the staff at Veterinary Emergency Group were so gentle and kind. They gave us a private room with treats, dim lights, and a soft blanket, and allowed us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. One of the nurses went out of her way to make a makeshift charcuterie board of deli meat and cheese so our boy could go out doing what he loved most, eating people food. A week later, we got a hand-written card in the mail from the vet and vet tech who took care of us that day. It’s never a good day when you have to bring your pet to the ER, but if you do, I highly recommend Veterinary Emergency Group. They provided us with exceptional care during an incredibly difficult time.

Experiencia fantástica: We very unexpectedly and devastatingly had to lay our sweet kitty to rest last week. VEG took him in immediately and knew exactly how to handle our situation. We were given a private room to spend our last couple of hours with our boy before saying goodbye. They made him comfortable and went above and beyond to ease his pain. Dr. Bayless (I think that’s her name) is an absolute angel. She was so kind and walked us through the entire euthanasia process. You can really tell how much she cares for animals and humans alike. She even sent a hand written condolences card to us. As traumatic as this experience was for us, we are beyond grateful for the entire team at VEG. ♥️♥️♥️

Experiencia fantástica: My cat saw Dr. Israel for an abscess from a bite wound. He treated her quickly and with confidence. She immediately felt better he followed up a couple days later. He and the VEG team are so knowledgeable and keep up-to-date with the latest research, meds, and procedures. Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank the entire team at VEG Emergency Hospital enough for the incredible care they gave our dog, Mia. What started as a terrifying emergency turned into an experience filled with compassion, transparency, and truly exceptional veterinary care. Dr. Gosselin and her team, including Ana and the assistants, performed Mia’s splenectomy and did an amazing job. Their skill, calmness, and confidence during such a stressful time meant everything to us. They quite literally saved Mia’s life and gave us more precious time with her, which we will always be grateful for. What made the experience even more special was the way the entire VEG team supported us emotionally. They allowed us to stay by Mia’s side the entire time and even welcomed us to stay overnight with her so she could feel safe and comfortable. That level of compassion and understanding meant the world to us during such a scary moment. Dr. Bayless was also wonderful with Mia’s follow-up care. She took the time to check on Mia the next day and again a few days later after surgery, which made us feel incredibly supported and reassured that Mia was recovering well. Experiencia fantástica: These folks were wonderful. I came in late at night w a 3 Mo old kitten with a funky eye. They saw her quick and were very kind and attentive. Offered me snacks and water while I waited, and the overall vibe was really helpful for a stressed pet parent. It’s clear that animals are deeply loved and appreciated by every staff member. Experiencia negativa: Our experience at VEG was so poor that we feel obligated to provide some perspective for nervous cat parents who have their first pet emergency like we experienced. TLDR: We paid half the money for more invasive treatment at a great local pet hospital and received more quality care and judgement than at VEG. If your pet has a true medical emergency other than swallowing something they shouldn’t, better off (and maybe cheaper) going to a pet hospital. Details below: Our cat had been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis by her primary vet and had quickly declined over the weekend, which ultimately brought us to VEG. Course/Cost 1. The first night we received appropriate treatment, but they insisted that we board her for 24hr so we can get their “specialists” interpretation of an ultrasound we had already performed by our primary vet and had quickly been performed at VEG the first night. The first flag was when Dr. Jessica Rupert pushed for another ultrasound the next day encouraging a more specific understanding of our cat’s diagnosis which we attempted to advocate against, because no further understanding was presented to us and images looked nearly the same as the night before. Testing and capacity to provide services is huge because there is little value to obtaining tests if there is no capacity to provide further services. Especially since nearly every facility will repeat their test “to confirm.” We paid for many ultrasounds over the past week, and if ultimately a speciality hospital is required, might as well go there to perform all their testing. 2. We decided to take her home no matter what after the first 24hr despite Dr. Rupert wanting to continue another night with the same treatment which clearly was not working based on the bloodwork. They insisted we return in another 24hr for a blood test. Again, no matter the result of this blood test, VEG did not present us with services necessary to take care of our cat's diagnosis appropriately. 3. The blood test the second night had worsening results. At this point, Dr. Rupert gave us 2 choices, specialty hospital or euthanasia. She suggested a speciality hospital would cost thousands and prolonged hospital stay, so she effectively leaned us toward euthanasia. Our primary vet had suggested a course of steroids, which Dr. Rupert FIRMLY stated is not a long term solution nor would she support it. With great emotion, we went home, and felt crushed. But our cat kept displaying her cute little gestures. Barely 2 hours after returning from VEG, we went to a pet hospital (VRCC). From the ED doc, to the internal medicine doc, and even a quick google search, everyone suggested that our cat would recover normally if a steroid treatment along with a feeding tube was pursued. Within 24hrs, our cat was home with treatment and started to behave more normally especially with her jaundice disappearing after a day signaling improvement. WE NEARLY EUTHANIZED OUR CAT when she would have recovered otherwise. Our conversation with Dr. Rupert really made us feel we would be doing a disservice to our cat by punishing her with a long term hospitalization. However she remains home and on the path to recovery now. **The real crusher is that 24hr + consult at VEG cost nearly twice the amount as 24hr hospitalization + Specialist consult + anesthesia for an invasive procedure at a vet hospital.** Staff Behaviors/Facility 1. While boarding her there for 24hrs, I was with her nearly the entire time. During that time, I witnessed nearly all the cats on IV fluids pee themselves and not get cleaned regularly, either from discomfort or poor liter quality. 2. I had to remind staff about her receiving her IV antibiotics on time while other cats had routine checks. 3. Despite our hesitation, we returned the next night and had this repeat blood test. During this time, we heard staff hesitate to engage with our cat and call her names such as, “monster.” The only positive was that you are allowed to be with your pet throughout their care, but became necessary as our cat was not treated well.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough about Dr. Kasey Forton and the team tonight. I brought in a community cat who lives on my property after noticing he was limping. I was terrified — both for him and financially — because I’m currently going through a difficult season and wasn’t sure how I would cover emergency care. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Forton and the staff treated both of us with kindness, dignity, and zero judgment. She carefully examined Foxy Boy as I now fondly call him, administered pain medication, an antibiotic injection, and a rabies vaccination — and then made the extraordinary decision to cover the visit as a Good Samaritan case. I was prepared for a very different outcome, and instead I experienced compassion in action. This wasn’t just veterinary care. It was humanity and literally brought tears to my eyes. Because of her, this sweet outdoor cat is back home, comfortable, and healing. Thank you, Dr. Forton, for your professionalism, generosity, and heart. I will never forget what you did tonight for Foxy Boy and I.

My dog had to have emergency obstruction surgery, and as you can imagine, I was incredibly scared and overwhelmed. From the moment we walked in, every single person treated us with kindness, compassion, and genuine care. The staff was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also so hospitable, upbeat, and reassuring during a really stressful time. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions without rushing me, and made me feel like my dog was truly in the best hands. You can tell this team genuinely cares about both the animals and the humans who love them. That support meant more to me than I can express. I’m beyond grateful for their skill, their positivity, and the way they helped ease my anxiety during such a difficult situation. Thank you for taking such amazing care of my dog. Experiencia fantástica: I brought in my girl Ramona when she decided that - after 3 years - she decided to chew on an albuterol sulfate rescue inhaler and got a dose of 20 or so sprays. I was referred by the front desk person of an urgent care vet who said I could either start there and move to emergency if she got worse or go straight to emergency. I decided to take their recommendation and head straight to VEG. I called on the way, and the front desk person there said they'd let everyone know we were on our way. I completed the check in on my phone which made things go very quickly. Everyone was amazing with my girl, so friendly, loving, and attentive. The entire staff made us feel safe and welcome, kept us in the loop the entire time, answered any questions, and were incredibly understanding. It was also amazing that we could stay with her as long as we wanted. We ended up leaving and coming back in the morning because she gets extremely worked up when we are there as she is trying to get us to take her home (as she does at any place that isn't home or outside). They worked with us on payment, and we used Care Credit for the bulk once we found she was going to need hospitalization. The price was not absurd and totally worth it for our sweet girl. I hope I never have to go back, but if I need an emergency veterinarian again, I will definitely come back here.
Experiencia fantástica: My kitty was very sick and so tired she couldn’t lift her head. I brought her into veg because they were the only ones open this late at night. They were very empathetic and very quick to take care of her. Was it expensive yes but it’s a late night emergency room of course it’s expensive. After two visits with them instead of her staying the night they figured out what is wrong with her and she’s doing a lot better. Tonight when I got home, she ran to the door now she’s laying on my lap purring away. I am so grateful for all the people at veg and the hard work they did for my Baby.

He ended up loosing his eye and being disabled on a fixed income raising 2 children alone I had no extra money for procedure. They helped me and I was able to get the surgery for my lil guy done. Experiencia fantástica: No one wants to go to an emergency vet but if you have to, go to this one. They’ll take great care of your pet and you, as well. Thanks Dr. Carrara, Elise, Carolina, Jessica and everyone else who helped us and Chance. Our dog ate some human poop while camping. Disgusting but didn’t seem like a big deal until a few hours later when he started walking abnormally, wobbling and listing, and acting lethargic which is extremely unusual (4yo aussie IYKYK). We called VEG and they immediately gave us advice on what to watch for and when to come in. We decided to take him in since he seemed to be getting worse. Turns out he got THC poisoning via human excrement We arrived, they quickly checked us in and led us to the back where we were seen by a vet within a few minutes. Everyone we interacted with at VEG was very kind, considerate, and helpful. They brought us chairs to sit with him, a bed for him, and there were even complementary snacks. We deeply appreciated being able to sit with our boy while we waited for updates. We were in and out within 90 minutes. We had been here before for our previous dog’s seizures, and they gave us beanbags to let us sleep next to her overnight. ♥️ We will always come here for emergency vet care.

We were in an incredibly difficult place—heartbroken over our loss and terrified for our remaining cat. Not only did they provide the best possible care for her, but they also shared in our sadness and grief. Their professionalism and genuine compassion were so evident that we felt comfortable leaving our cat in their care for two days, knowing she was truly in the best hands. Experiencia fantástica: From the moment we walked in with our baby, Joey, the whole team of Dr's, nurses and front desk, showed how much they care for the animals that come into the ER. My Joey was not doing good. They put him on the table and immediately checked him out. They gave me the bad news..... cancer. I had to make the hardest choice any pet parent had to make. Their staff was so sweet to my familia and I. Gave time for my kids to get there to say their last good byes. Let us spend time with him after he had crossed the bridge. Experiencia negativa: Worse place go to they over charge sucks especially u don’t have any money. My dog was spitting out Silva ask for help I didn’t had 1k for medicine and they just injected my farm puppy not even worth what medicine cost anyway they injected lots medicine don’t remember what it was but then he had a huge bump from all medicine they injected it with then they started squeezing it hard so medicine get everywhere his body. I took it to a different vet sadly they couldn’t do anything for all the injections they put on him. He died next day. Worse place take your dogs.

Experiencia fantástica: I was leaving a friends house and found someone’s pet rat hurt and seeking shelter under our car. We called multiple vets trying to get this injured dying animal help one said they weren’t “comfortable taking in a rat” another offered to help for the small fee of $350 dollars. Called veterinary emergency group and they were so kind immediately offered to help and we ultimately decided to put the pet down since it had been attacked. Experiencia fantástica: 13/10. These women are better than nurses in human health care in my opinion. They all had to learn a different set of anatomy. Luckily upon arrival he was stable, alert and they still rushed over to make sure he was okay. We were able to get to the route of the problem and the techs/ dvm helped me in more ways I can ever repay them. A simple thank you will never be enough. We both appreciate them all at veg from the bottom of our hearts they are absolutely fantastic. Dr. Groves and her team were so incredibly supportive and helpful and made sure I understood everything before departure. Thank you for saving my best friend you guys do the lords work. Experiencia fantástica: We had a stellar experience with VEG for a less than great situation involving our cat and yarn. Our cat consumed yarn and by the time we realized it, the yarn was too far into his system so VEG needed to perform emergency abdominal surgery. When we brought him late on a weeknight , the clinic was busy, but they made sure to check on us multiple times while we waited for our cat to get checked out. Everyone from the doctors to the vet techs were kind and professional. They were able to operate on him within a few hours and he stayed there for another day while recovering. We got updates the entire time as he went into surgery and came out. Then we were able to visit him post-op and bring him home shortly after. His recovery as easy and VEG checked in with us multiple times to make sure he was doing well. Everyone there seems to really care about the work they are doing. Their expertise and professionalism is impressive! It was a stressful situation but VEG took care of our boy and that gave us peace of mind! You can trust them with your emergency pet needs!

Experiencia fantástica: The team at VEG saved my cat’s life and I will never be able to thank them enough! My cat Melon had gotten into some thread while I was at work one day and I had no idea what was wrong with her. I initially took her into a different vet where I was charged $700 for a useless x-ray and a recommendation to spend even more money on some nausea medication. I decided instead to take her into VEG to get a second opinion, and good thing I did because she had a string wrapped around her tongue going all the way through her intestines and blocking her stomach opening. She would have died had I waited any longer. The entire staff was extremely friendly and comforting, and the open concept emergency room was amazing. Hopefully I never have to come back here, but if one of my cats has another emergency I know exactly where to go. Melon is alive and well (and insured now lol) thanks to the amazing veterinary team here.

Experiencia negativa: Edit since you responded: I was not even quoted for an emergency c section that night I came in. I did explain I do not have a lot of money for extra items. When we spoke the only thing you mentioned the notes had where they sent me a list of affordable places that I also did not receive. I was told she was fine baby was fine and she was not in active labor. I also had someone with me who said the same. There was no urgency on the situation I was told to bring her back if anything changes. For discounting the next day that I had her put her down I’m greatly appreciative but I didn’t ask for anything free I asked on financing options as I make good money just had something come up at this time. I appreciate the call but it was more so to get me to change my reveiw. All the list I did receive an hour prior to bringing her back NONE OF THEM DO THE SURGERY I NEEDED. And I also spoke with your hospital in December trying to find someone who does. YOU KILLED HER Came in Sunday night at 3am due to my frenchie being in labor for longer than 24 hours. They did check mom and baby both where fine but did an x ray and said the puppy is big and at the canal and sent me home to option for a c section. Came back yesterday because she had gotten worse and she ended up losing the baby because it was stuck and she died septic. Felt like it coulda been prevented on Sunday had they just cared a little more. Yesterday there was no urgency to save her life (because money) crazy it’s easier to kill a dog then save them but when it’s not yours I guess it doesn’t matter the same.

We saw her twice and recommended an emergency c-section on your first visit, which is well documented in our doctor's notes, and I also confirmed this in a follow up conversation with our doctor. In addition we did not charge you for any of our services during either visit since you had financial limitations, discounting our exams, ultrasounds and diagnostics 100%. Veterinary hospitals are unable to perform surgeries completely free of charge. While we usually have a donation based fund that we pull from to help with life-saving procedures, unfortunately that fund is currently empty. I'd be happy to chat with you further if you'd like.

The waiting area has coffee and snacks, but you can also choose to stay right next to your pet the entire time. Experiencia fantástica: We brought our dog Ollie in after he ingested a lethal amount of dark chocolate. We were seen right away. Everyone was extremely kind and compassionate towards Ollie and myself upon arrival. The vets were extremely communicative - I called to check in multiple times during his ~16 hour stay and was always given helpful updates and reassurances. They also consulted regularly with poison control to make sure our dog was getting the best possible care. When he was discharged by Dr. Price, he still had some abnormal heart rhythms and suggested we follow up with a cardiologist or come back in the next day. We went back the day for the follow up and it was clear they hadn’t asked us to come in for any other reason than genuine concern for our dog. We hope we don’t have to go back, but if we ever to have a pet emergency, we will definitely go to VEG again. Emergency vet services are very expensive, but they were transparent about the cost. Many many thanks to Dr Price, Dr Sotiropoulos and literally every nurse, vet tech and staff member we interacted with for their kindness, professionalism and genuine care for our beloved dog.

Experiencia negativa: Took my dog there 3 times the week before Christmas and each time they told me he was fine after racking up my bill $1500 dollars with no explanation of his illness. I took him to the animal hospital who told me his glands needed to be squeezed. I called VEG and all they said is we're sorry that happened and would let the doctors know what was wrong with him but they had to go and help other patients. Everytime I called them they kept telling me bring him in and more charges incurred. He is still sick thousands of dollars later and no answers from this money sucking business. Take your dog somewhere else. Wasted time and Wasted money.

I called on the way over and was able to fill out our dogs information before arriving. We were brought in within 2min of arriving. Technicians and veterinarian all cared for our dog, did several tests, and provided clear instructions. This was the calmest I’ve ever seen my dog at the vet even with a seemingly busy day and with the new-to-him open vet concept. Prices very comparable to other after hours/emergency vet services we’ve had in Denver

Experiencia fantástica: best emergency vet ever. originally came here about a year and a half ago, i’ve since moved 30 minutes away but made the drive because i remembered how amazing they were, and im glad i did. my pitbull had a rapidly growing mass on her chest, it ended up popping on the way to the vet and i didnt notice until we got back into triage. the lady tried to drain a bit of it, she expressed that it was non cancerous and likely something i could help drain myself with a hot compress. she sent us on our way and didn’t even charge me an emergency visit. VEG is the best emergency vet ever! always feels non transactional and like they’re there to HELP, not to take a payment.

Experiencia fantástica: I came in on Christmas Eve worried about an infection that my dog Logan had developed on a benign mass on his belly. Dr. Israel and the other staff there were incredibly friendly and accommodating for me, going above and beyond to help Logan and give me some peace of mind. I also followed up two days later because Logan had a scab come off on the mass which caused a lot of bleeding and discomfort. I was worried so I called and spoke with Dr. Tagaban, who asked if I could email a picture for her to check out. She responded quickly and assured me he will be fine until his scheduled mass removal surgery and some instructions on what I can do to take care of him in the meantime. I just genuinely felt like this whole team has had mine and Logan’s best interest at heart. Experiencia fantástica: We don't live in Denver, we are just passing through. We foster, and one of our sweet foster kittens started showing signs of paralysis in his back legs and having seizures this morning. He was super lethargic and crashed a few times on the way there. I've fostered for a while, and I've seen kittens pass. I was fully expecting him to pass in my arms. I genuinely pulled over to hold him as he went, because I thought he was gone. When we got there he was either barely breathing or not breathing at all. He looked dead, his eyes were rolled back, and his head fell everytime he moved. They immediately rushed him back and stabilized him. They did ask for payment upfront (as most emergency vets do btw), and they very kindly walked us through our options. They gave us multiple different financing options, saying things like "if you're comfortable with that" and "if that works for you" the whole time. We paid, and yes it was expensive, but vet care (especially emergency care) usually is. The vet was very nice, she talked us through everything. She explained it all, and we were able to be with him the entire time. We were there for 10 hours, but we were able to leave at any time. They had snacks, drinks and a trivia game up on the screen. I genuinely believe that if I had taken him anywhere else, he wouldn't be with me right now. Thank you to everyone at VEG Denver - Me and Husk

Experiencia fantástica: It was a rough week for our family at VEG. My dog a 14 year old Malti-poo was referred to a cardiologist for heart failure. Then my daughters 13 year old pit was diagnosed with lymphoma and had to be put down. Both vets were very compassionate. Very comprehensive testing was done that my regular vet could not do in house. The staff from the front desk to the vet assistants to the doctors were very helpful. The environment of being able to just sit with your pet and not have someone take them behind a closed door is the best feeling. You can observe all procedures while they are being done. X-rays, ultrasounds, blood draws, even some surgeries. You are included in everything.

Experiencia fantástica: We took our golden retriever puppy, Luna, to VEG ER last night after she ate a dead rodent on our walk. We were attended to and Luna was treated almost immediately. Every person we interacted with at the ER was lovely, from the intake receptionist to the doctor, to Nurse Ana who kindly comforted Luna (and us) as she vomited up a dead rodent. Sounds unpleasant? Well, the staff at VEG ER somehow made it a positive experience. I hope not to be back, but suspect we will, and feel comfortable with this staff caring for my silly girl.

Experiencia fantástica: We had an incredible experience at VEG and I would absolutely bring any future pets here if ever needed. I completely understand why they have such high reviews. The open-concept layout made such a difference so that we could see what was happening and felt involved rather than shut out. They even offer rooms and beds if you plan to stay overnight or want a more home-like space to be with your pet which meant so much during such a difficult time. Every staff member we encountered was kind, compassionate, and incredibly supportive. When our sweet girl Tilley had to stay for several days, we always felt confident she was in good hands. They truly did everything possible to give her the best chance, and it meant so much to hear staff speak so lovingly about her. One team member even took a Polaroid photo of Tilley which we will treasure forever. We are deeply grateful for the care, empathy, and love shown to both our dog and our family.

Experiencia fantástica: I recommend coming here with any emergency! I was checked in within the minute I arrived and Dr. Nicky saw my cat within 5 minutes. Each staff member assessed her with patience and care, using sweet talk to comfort her through the whole process which I love. I did have to wait a little to get my cat actually treated, but it was to be expected. The price was a little hefty, but I had paid for treatments they later decided she didn’t need and they got me refunded for it at least! The complimentary snacks and drinks were much appreciated after being there for a couple hours. I would definetly come back if needed.

Emergency care is already expensive, but they really worked with me to make everything more affordable by helping determine what was truly necessary and what wasn’t urgent. The space is fairly open, which might be tough for reactive dogs, but they do have private rooms available. They also made sure we were comfortable the entire time and even offered drinks and snacks. My dog wasn’t in a life-threatening situation, but he was definitely in pain, and they were so quick and efficient in figuring out what he needed. I hope I never have to come back for an emergency, but if I do, this is absolutely where I’d go.

Experiencia fantástica: I'd give 6 stars if I could. VEG's staff *listens* and is really there to help however they can. I have a very strange and very old cat who is almost as cooperative as a dog, but only if I'm allowed to handle him. If I'm *not* allowed to handle him, he's a hellion so bad that other vets have wanted him sedated for regular checkups. I'm aware this is an exceptionally odd personality for a cat, but after just a few minutes of mild insistence on my part VEG accommodated us completely. That's enough for a 5 star review from me, but they also paid very close attention to the previous reports and records of his care, followed the advice of specialists, and despite clearly being knowledgeable in a broad range of illnesses, they were quick to acknowlege that he would be best served by being somewhere with a specialist on staff (I've dealt with a lot of arrogant doctors/vets who refused to believe there was anything they didn't know, and VEG wasn't like that at all). (Also, the specialist's verdict was the same as VEG's - the doctors at VEG had diagnosed him with complete accuracy.) After he came home from the other emergency center very late the next day, VEG was happy to provide me with a pill splitter and a pill gun so I could keep him well, AND they let me bring him in to show me easier ways to get him to take them. I've had no end of trouble with other emergency centers. VEG was a breath of fresh air, and very kind besides.

We accept external financing options (Care Credit and Scratch Pay), which we offered to you while you were at our clinic. Insurance is not something that vet hospitals provide, as insurance is something a pet owner has to purchase through an insurance company. We examined your puppy and sent him home with pain medications (not ibuprofen), made recommendations to you for follow up at a lower cost clinic, and we discounted your entire bill so that you did not have to pay us. Experiencia fantástica: 5 stars isn't enough to express how thankful I am for this team. They saved our little guys life after he chowed down on a toxic lily plant. We were there for multiple days and the staff was in and out constantly making sure we had what we needed, they were very communicative about when to expect tests and letting us know exactly what to expect in general. We were able to stay with our guy in a room by ourselves throughout the whole 48 hour stay and we came in contact with multiple different staff members who all went above and beyond to make sure we had comfy chairs, phone chargers, and snacks while we sat with our kitty. Our little guy (under 1 year old!) gets to live a full long life with no complications due to this incident because of them and I can't even put into words how grateful I am!

We got x-rays, blood work, & meds and were out the door 3 hours later. We paid around $1,200 for care and our family is very grateful for the attention we received here. Would recommend. I haven't experience an open concept vet office before, so I found that surprising at first, but ended up finding it an enjoyable experience. Everyone had their own areas and the staff made sure no animals were interacting with others for safety, and I just found I liked watching everything going on. It was a surprising experience. Additionally, the front desk receptionist was excellent from when we called to when we arrived. While waiting, I saw her give the ashes of a pet to someone and she was so kind, caring, and concerned for this person. It truly touched me.

But we do find that most people do enjoy being able to watch what is going on, with their pet and with other people's pets, and oftentimes takes away from the stress of having your sick or injured pet in the ER. Experiencia fantástica: While any visit to an ER should not be considered a pleasant experience I have to admit the staff, nurses, and doctors at VEG on Colfax were awesome and made a difficult situation much easier. The nurses, doctors and staff were great. I was impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of everyone. Excellent communication during the process of providing care for our pup. Cammie and Doctor Stuhlumann were awesome. There was another patient that went into an emergency care process and all hands went on deck. It was a very intense situation and while I didn't get the name of this nurse, she offered to watch my pup if I was uncomfortable with the scene and wanted to step out. I didn’t need to but it was a kind gesture. That scenario did show me the level of care that the staff provides and was impressed. I will be back (hopefully not soon) and would highly recommend them.

I felt hopeless when I came in and the team made me feel so calm and like things were going to be okay. They consistently made sure my boy was okay and did everything they could to save his life. Experiencia fantástica: Every person I interacted with during my dog's stay at VEG was extremely kind and helpful. These folks really care about their work and the animals brought into their hospital. Everyone took great care of my corgi Auggie while we were there. There's nothing to really do about the high prices when you're in emergency situations with your pet...I did see an ad for Care credit up front but I'm not sure if they would help with payment plans or anything like that, I did not ask. I wouldn't be surprised though, like I said everyone there is all about helping you and your pet! Our primary care vet recommended us to VEG for Auggie's emergency (but we had already heard great things before) and now I see why! I will recommend VEG to others as well.

We have been several times for various lacerations with pets, always on a weekend or night when our regular vet clinic is closed. Our bulldog was having breathing issues and based on ratings we decided to go to this location. The ratings speak for themselves. We were treated with true compassion and care from the front desk staff to our discharge tech reviewing home medications. Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog to Veterinary Emergency Group feeling anxious, as she has a medical condition that puts her at high risk for aspiration pneumonia. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel cared for and supported. Dr. Kim was absolutely wonderful: thorough, patient, and incredibly compassionate. She took the time to explain everything clearly, was upfront about costs, and truly made me feel like my dog’s wellbeing was her top priority. One of the very best things about this hospital is that they allow you to stay with your pet the entire time. My dog has separation anxiety, and the last thing I want when she isn’t feeling well is for her to be taken away from me. Being able to stay by her side while she was examined and treated made all the difference and brought both of us so much comfort. Even though we’re still here waiting for the radiologist to review her chest X-rays, I already feel confident that we’re in excellent hands. The veterinary nurses have been attentive and kind, and the front desk staff went out of their way to make the process smooth and reassuring. It’s never easy when your pet needs emergency care, but Dr. Kim and the VEG team have made a stressful situation so much easier. I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism, compassion, and genuine care.

Experiencia fantástica: So incredibly thankful for VEG and Dr. Haake, I can not recommend VEG enough. We brought our dog in after a few days of not being able to figure out what was going on. Our pup had to undergo an emergent endoscope, which was really scary to see, but the VEG staff was incredible and walked us through the whole process. Dr. Haake gave us her recommendation and explained in depth what was going on every step of the way. They listened to all of our concerns, made sure we felt comfortable and were as involved as we wanted to be, and made it clear that Woody was in great hands. Every team member, even those not directly involved in Woody's care, made sure to stop by, chat with us, lighten the mood, and see how they could help. Woody is home now and doing great and any questions I have I know I am able to call VEG and speak with someone directly. I truly don't know where we'd be without you guys!!!

They talked us through the whole process, calmed him down while administering medicine, and generally were just awesome. I will be only taking my guinea pigs to them in the future for emergencies

Fortunately, this place has made what should’ve been a traumatic experience, a very bearable experience. They are kind, empathic, calm + collected. My dog was hospitalized for two days and they let me stay with her the entire time. They were absolutely slammed the first night we were there, and they still remained calm and on top of everything. Everyone (unnecessarily) was very accommodating to me and I’m still so appreciative of it. This place is great and truly does special work. Experiencia fantástica: I can not express how amazing VEG is. My sweet Daisy girl had a severe injury to her eye, so we took her to a vet er close to home in Colorado Springs. But the service there was not what we wanted for our Daisy. We found the VEG, explained to them what had happened to our Daisy, and they immediately started setting things up for Daisy. We drove the hour and 20 minutes to get to VEG, and it was worth every minute it took. They treated Daisy with the utmost care. They had empathy and compassion the clinic in the Springs lacked. We were short the full funds we needed for Daisy's whole operation, but with the help of donations to their organization, her full operation was covered. Her Vet techs were Cami and Hailey, both of those ladies were a light to a very dark and horrific experience for us. I can never repay them for the care and gentleness they showed for our sweet Daisy. They saved the heart of an 11 year old girl who loves her furry best friend more than anything. And has the love and gratitude of a this Mom forever. Thank you VEG team for being there for our furry babies in need.

Experiencia positiva: I picked this vet because all my friends and family had great things to say about this vet and even how they would be willing to help if your struggling financially silly that they wouldn’t turn ur loved one away that they truly care about the animals and they referred me to a low-cost affordable vet to save me some money so that’s where I went the next day that vet then did blood on my dog and referred me to 24 hour veterinary emergency clinic for to be monitored for 24 hours and so I asked him to please send the paperwork back over to VEC because that’s why I wanted to do the emergency stay at and so when I got there before I even pulled my dog out of the car, I had went in and asked a little receptionist. I don’t have a whole lot of money. I only have a couple hundred dollars the vet that you guys referred me to said that he needs 24 hour hospitalization to be monitored and I just wanna know before I get them out of the car. I only have a couple hundred dollars if you guys can still please help me. The doctor said that his kidneys are very bad and that he needs to be monitored and and he needs to be in an emergency vet and she said yes we’re not gonna turn you away. She said come on and get your dog and come on in and that’s what I Did. I spoke to the doctor that was on duty at the time he said yes we’re gonna take care of you we’re gonna have Broadview wax over or email over the paperwork of what what they suggest in the results of the bloodwork and the x-ray and then yes we’ll move things on, but we are going to do shift change right now and I said OK great and you guys are still gonna help me ask that doctor I don’t have a lot of money. Are you guys still gonna help me please? Because if not, I’ll move onto something else you know and they said yes they were still gonna help me, they said, they were getting ready to do shift change and that we would move on as soon as shift change was done. They did shift change and that blonde headed younger or a girl told me that she would not touch my dog without $3400 on the high end on the low in $3200 not even do anything for him until we had any of that money even seeing him suffer after they promised me they were gonna take care of him and they sat there and Just lied to me and it made me believe something and I don’t understand why they would help all my friends out. All of my friends have said such good things about this place and how they help you when when you finances are when you’re financially struggling, they’re not gonna let your loved one suffer and they have done just that they turned me away they turned me away after promised me that they wouldn’t do that after wasting all day long and all my dog has done his suffer. I’m just beside myself. I can’t believe it. Two people that worked their promised me they weren’t gonna turn me away because of the finances except for the one that came on after shift change the blonde girl she turned me away. She said that she couldn’t touch him until they had payment in full. I just don’t understand why they could lie to me why they’ll help everybody else but me in my pup when he’s miserable after they promised me So I guess maybe I shouldn’t leave a bad review about a lot of the doctors there are very good but that one blonde girl she’s not very nice. She should’ve withheld what they said the other two people that worked there the assistant and the doctor he’s older has Salt-N-Pepa hair. He was great too great great doctors. They were willing to help me but the blonde girl nope she turned me away with my dog suffering. So maybe I should give them a more than a one star review because it was just the blonde girl

Experiencia fantástica: Outstanding patient care! My tiny chihuahua had a glans penis problem. I googled it and immediately became concerned. I called my regular vet, but he wasn’t in the office so I called his old vet practice and they were shorthanded so couldn’t take him. Thank goodness for VEG! My baby was seen immediately. He was not thrilled to be there so he snapped at the vet tech trying to get his vitals. They handed me a little cone to put on him so they could treat him without risking being bit. I much preferred the cone to a muzzle and so did he! Fortunately, he did not have any inflammation or organ damage, and they applied a little lube to fix the problem! We were in and out and under 15 minutes and they didn’t even charge for the treatment. Everyone was super nice and super professional. 10/10 recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my dog in today early in the morning and was so impressed by the staff here. I have a doberman/german shepherd (Nyx) who is pretty nervous around vets and even in the high stress environment they still took the time to get her settled on a bed and even asked if we’d be more comfortable in a private room. Dr Armstrong provided a calm presence while explaining every step of the way without it being overwhelming. The nurse Dom was also so kind and caring. When he administered her fluids and meds, Nyx peed herself and he took the time to clean her off once he finished administering her meds. Throughout the visit, I witnessed some pretty intense moments for other pet parents and the whole team really showed up for each and every pet and pet parent. The team’s communication, patience and empathy towards every patient was a nice change to see especially for an emergency department where usually gentleness is not the priority. It was evident that this team really cared like the pets coming in were their own. Hopefully you never find yourself needing an emergency vet but if you do, I can’t recommend this place enough.

Both visits were fantastic. The team is so nice and both of the doctors I have delt with have been great. The prices are very reasonable especially for after hours. Experiencia fantástica: We brought our dog in on a Sunday after he suddenly became very sick, and this emergency hospital was absolutely incredible. They discovered that he had a five-pound tumor growing off his spleen — truly terrifying news — but they handled everything with such compassion, empathy, and professionalism. Dr. David Israel is by far the most caring and genuine veterinarian I’ve ever met. You can tell he does this because he truly cares about animals and their families. Even after our visit, he reached out personally the next day to share a study about the type of tumor my dog had and provided a list of specialty hospitals to contact for surgery. We ended up going with one of his recommendations, and they were amazing too. Thankfully, the tumor turned out to be benign and our dog is doing great now. In such a frightening situation, I could not have asked for a more compassionate or supportive team. They accommodated all of my dog’s special needs, placed us in a private room, and made us feel completely cared for from start to finish. I can’t recommend Dr. Israel and this emergency hospital enough. If your pet ever needs urgent care, this is the place to go.

Experiencia fantástica: If I could give 10 stars, I would! I cannot say enough good things about the every single person who works at this VEG location. We brought in our cat after accidentally giving him too much insulin and they literally brought him back from the brink. He spent over 29 hours there and if weren’t for their care, the weekend would have ended on a very sad note. Every single person I encountered was empathetic, compassionate, and really, really good at their job! They work extremely long hours and although they must be exhausted, they work just as hard during the last hour as they do the first. The open concept might not be for everyone but I found it to be a great comfort to stay by my baby’s side. Thank you Dr Israel, Dr Rupert, Dr Nelson, Celeste, Lauren, Dom, Kaitlyn, Randi, El’Lyssa and everyone else who helped and supported my baby and me this past weekend!

Experiencia fantástica: What an amazing place. The staff here are unbelievably kind, sympathetic, informative and compassionate. From the second you walk in, they take care of you and your pet. They have little couches so you can stay with your pet if you want and are very open about procedures and even said I could watch my dog’s surgery. I opted out of that but I just can’t say enough positive stuff about this place. I had heard good things from friends but now I can say that I’ll always bring my pets here for emergencies. The work they did on my dog was top notch and it was a serious surgery. Thank you VEG for everything.

Experiencia fantástica: Unfortunately, my husband and I have been to this VEG location multiple times with multiple dogs. Fortunately, the team at VEG Denver is AMAZING! Our most recent visit, they had an "open concept" treatment area, which allowed you to stay with your pet the entire time you were there. This really helped to relieve the stress for both us and our sweet dog. We have received prompt care every visit, and the pricing is up front and reasonable for emergency services. Everyone on staff from the front office, to the techs, to the vets, are all so friendly, patient, and caring during a stressful time. Our dog was admitted overnight, and we were offered the opportunity to stay with her the entire time. We needed to go home to get some sleep, but I know she was well cared for and the techs absolutely gushed about her when we picked her up in the morning. She has made a full recovery and I so appreciate VEG for all of their help in an otherwise terrible situation!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently moved from Long Island, NY to Denver and when my dog made the questionable decision to eat a 3" x 3" fabric coaster, I knew VEG was the right place to go based on how much I trusted their staff in Carle Place, NY. Fortunately, my experience in Denver was basically identical to the experiences I had had in NY. Truly, the entire VEG Denver staff was incredibly professional and caring with my dog and with me during my dog’s 24-hour stay. That being said, the one person who actually made my time at VEG Denver truly enjoyable was Gwen. She knew exactly how to set my stressed-out mind at ease and even had me belly laughing quite a few times. I’m grateful to have found VEG Denver and if the unfortunate time comes again when I need their services, I won’t hesitate for a moment to visit their Denver location.

Experiencia fantástica: VEG provides amazing emergency vet care for the most reasonable price in the city. They are caring and good at what they do! You sit with your own pet, which allows their Techs to work with more patients, and the environment is like no other emergency vet I have ever been to. The doctors coordinate with needed additional professionals, including poison control, and really care about helping your pet! We have been to VEG 3 times in 3.5 years, and highly recommend their services over other big clinics in the area.

Experiencia fantástica: Our baby boy Banke suddenly became very ill this past weekend and our vet recommended us to visit Veterinary Emergency Group to get help. He was an outpatient on Saturday and returned to be hospitalized for the next two days since he was not improving. We were able to get checked in quickly and ran numerous tests to figure out why our boy was not himself. My partner and I were relieved that we were able to be by his side while he was hospitalized. We knew Banke needed our comfort and emotional support during his stay since he does have separation anxiety and we were able to spend as much time with him as we wanted. Despite multiple blood draws, exams, scans, and on a cocktail of medications, Banke was not improving enough and the vets at VEG were stumped is to what was causing him to be so ill. He was later transferred to Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) up in Boulder on Tuesday morning in hopes of getting more information and answers. The specialist went through his entire medical history and determined his prognosis was poor and that there was a good chance he might not make it through being anesthetized for a CT scan. My partner and I ultimately had to make the very difficult decision to put our baby down. We want to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff for taking care of Banke and helping him as much as you guys could during his final days. Everyone was attentive, caring, and compassionate here and if your baby needs help, you will be in good hands. Even people who were not directly working on our case would check in asking if we need anything and we appreciated the thought. I want to thank Dr. Suhr and nurse Christina in particular for their unwavering compassion and support. Yesterday we received a card in the mail from VEG sharing their condolences. The stamp used on the mail was a cat that looked just like Banke and it certainly warmed our hearts. I added a couple of pictures of Banke I took recently before his health quickly spiraled downward. He was suffering and in a lot of pain during his last days and this is not how my partner and I do not want to remember him so that is why I did not include any pictures of him at the hospital. We want everyone to know he was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest cat we had the honor of having and that all he wanted was to love and to be loved. We cannot thank VEG for the care and support we received during our time there.

The veterinarians went above & beyond and did more than what we expected. We can't thank them enough for everything they did for B & now he's getting back to his normal self. Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough good things about VEG and Dr. Suhr. We brought in our older Lab after a sudden bout of vomiting, and from the moment we arrived, the entire team was attentive, compassionate, and thorough. She was seen right away, and they walked us through every step of her care, including blood work, radiology scans, a shot to stop the vomiting, and fluids to help her recover. Not only were we kept well-informed throughout, but they also checked on her multiple times afterward and made sure all of her results were sent directly to our local veterinarian for follow-up. The level of care, communication, and genuine concern for her well-being exceeded all expectations. We’re so grateful for Dr. Suhr and the VEG team for helping our girl feel better so quickly.
