Experiencia fantástica: We recently took our pet into Blue Pearl. It was an excellent experience, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Our fur baby had to stay a couple days and we’re very impressed at the updates we received. We picked him up this afternoon and to my surprise it was a little cheaper than we were initially quoted.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my cat to see a veterinary specialist in internal medicine. They performed an ultrasound and quickly diagnosed the problem. My cat is scheduled for surgery at the same place in a couple of weeks. It is a very nice facility, well-managed and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly, and I was seen on time. It was a good experience.

Experiencia negativa: Waiting is too long. My dogs have mild lethargy, pooping blood, vomiting but other people were able to go in front of us without appointments.

Experiencia positiva: All staff members were very friendly, courteous and helpful. My kitten had good results there. And I was able to get all the medical supplies she needed right there at the vet. There were some animals that needed to be taken care of before her due to their injuries so I did have to spend over three hours there. That was a big chunk of my day but I was at the emergency vet so not more time than I have spent at a hospital ER. I was very satisfied with the outcome.

Experiencia fantástica: I was never actually seen at BluePearl as my cat was able to get an appointment at his primary vet due to a last minute opening. But, after my cat got diagnosed with a possible enlarged heart (he did not have an enlarged heart it was either due to the X-ray positioning or needing to be medicated for asthma) the team was so caring, transparent about pricing & payment options. I wanted to leave a review as I’d recommend here if you want a safe, clean and comfortable environment to bring your pet into. Would recommend & will be coming back if I have speciality or emergency pet care needs.

Experiencia fantástica: Our family pet was brought here for a health emergency!! The staff and doctors quickly and efficiently went to work. They were successful in treating the problem and keeping us in the loop during the entire process. Our four legged family member is back with us. Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend! Came in because our dog was vomiting and in distress. He was taken to the back and examined right away. Turned out to be a several day ordeal. All the staff was helpful and we were updated on a regular basis. Loved that there was someone with him 24/7!

Experiencia fantástica: Although it's unfortunate we've had to use BluePearl's services, we highly recommend them! The entire staff is compassionate and clearly cares about animals. Experiencia positiva: I'll be straight-up This place is not affordable. No flexible payment options either which blows my mind when you're handed a $1500 vet bill. The service could be warmer and more patient-focused too. I've seen long wait times being discussed and I can also attest. Thankfully they were up front about a shift change that was taking place. Overall I was satisfied until they brought up payment.

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Pearl (Dr. Gunther and cardio team) had been caring for my senior dog for several years, managing her somewhat complex medical concerns including congestive heart failure/ heart enlargement and possible tracheal collapse. When my sweet little one passed away during an acute exacerbation of CHF, the emergency vet was incredibly communicative, compassionate and understanding. Blue Pearl made the process as smooth and gentle as is possible in such a circumstance and we received thoughtful sympathy cards from the team which I really appreciated.

Experiencia positiva: My cat was seen and everyone was very friendly, however the room I was in was dirty. They never let me go back with my pet which I thought was so strange. Every vet I've ever been to takes you back with your baby. The price I thought was outrageous, I understand its an emergency going in at 8pm but $450 to clean out a wound and give me take home medication is a little crazy.

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog was attacked by another dog and needed medical attention. Everyone at Blue Pearl was compassionate and accommodating. We were there for over 4 hours and they kept us up to date on how the surgery was going. An emergency animal hospital is not where you want to be, but everyone was wonderful and we got fabulous care for Bella.

Experiencia fantástica: This place was extremely helpful, my dog Odin got infected with parvovirus and was declining fast. However, we were struggling with money since we had recently moved here about a week ago. We asked if there were cheaper alternatives and they helped us find ways we could help Odin within our budget and Odin has been feeling much better. I especially want to thank Dr. Dinstell because she helped Odin in so many ways and continues to help him even with our financial problems. I highly recommend this place for pet treatment, although prices are high but the treatment is high quality.

Experiencia fantástica: Harry, my not-so-mini dachshund (20 #), jumped off the ottoman (which he has done thousands of times) and landed wrong or something and hurt his back. I took him to Blue Pearl and they jumped into action for him. Did an MRI, surgery for the repair, and took loving care of him for 36 hours. Taught me how to express his bladder. Everything I or he needed to get well. He's doing great, thanks to Blue Pearl. Special shout-outs to Dr Vurek, and technicians Ashley and Miranda.

Experiencia positiva: We had our doggy get very sick very quickly and Blue Pearl was the only specialty vet hospital in our area with and MRI machine. We called Blue Pearl and the receptionists on several occasions were rude, the original emergency vet that we saw tried to talk us out of getting an MRI for a definitive diagnosis (and thank god we didn’t listen to him because we found cancer along our fur baby’s spine from that MRI). If we didn’t get that MRI we would have slowly lost our baby who was in an extreme amount of pain and discomfort. We did have another complaint that the place requires a “deposit” which is very misleading because what it actually is, is a payment up front for services. We did not respect them calling us in the middle of our dog’s surgery to ask us for more money, it felt predatory. I will admit that the “deposit” was close to our total cost. Dr. Vurik and Vet Tech Erik were some of the only people who seemed knowledgeable and were kind to talk to even though they didn’t always know the answers. They are the reason this review isn’t worse. We hope if and when we go back (only MRI in the area) we have a better experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Hi, my name is Tammy. We luve in Fallon and our larger dog was playing with our 9 week old chaweinie's, when one nipped at his paw and in defense he bit her. I searched for a 24 hour vet because this was at 5:30 !!!!! and the closest 24 hour vet was Blue pearl pet hospital in Reno. I called and the young lady was so careing and assured me that she would let them know that our Stella was coming in from Fallon. My husband James and my daughter took her in and "Everyone" was Extremely caring and professional. They treated Stella and sent her home with pain meds and antibiotics. Experiencia negativa: My small dog was bitten by a bigger dog, I took him to this location for his initial wound care. They were busy so I was trying to be patient, my dog was taken on a Saturday morning/afternoon and was not ready for me to pick up until Sunday morning the next day. The vet did not place a drain for the fluid build up and i was sent home with medication, care instructions but no cone and no drain for the wound. By Tuesday the wound was infected and leaking and had a very bad odor, so i I took my dog back to Blue Pearl for a follow up to make sure everything was ok. His wound was severely infected and the Vet that saw him Tuesday did not tell me she had to make pretty big incision to drain the fluids, I'm sure they expected me to leave him and did not inform me about the extra incision, no drain was placed no cone was given and i was sent home with more medicatations and another bill, but no follow up care instructions just told to clean the wound and drain the fluids up to 3 times a day. I am sad and upset that the Vet and the Vet Tech did not give me the full extent of his injury nor the procedure done to "treat" the wound, I was not shown the incision and did not see how bad it was until we got home. I had to take my dog to get a second opinion with another vet, because I do not feel comfortable taking my dog back to Blue Pearl. I hope he makes it!

Experiencia fantástica: Had to say goodbye my corgi Panda. They had a note on the door that they where full and was diverting customers to another location. But my dog was in serious pain so I told my girlfriend to bang on door anyway. And thank you Jesus they opend the door and let us in . Experiencia positiva: This place is quite expensive, but in our experience thats the only negative. They helped us out in EVERYWAY they could and were extremely empathetic for our loss. We took her to a few emergency vets and this one was the only one who didnt pass judgment on the lack of funds we needed for the surgery, and they helped give our girl peace. Experiencia positiva: I brought my dog to blue Pearl because he’s aging and sick. I have no doubt that the care he received was outstanding. However, upon picking him up, I requested to speak to the doctor six times and was denied. The Vet Tech was very knowledgeable and insisted that I asked him those questions I wanted to ask the doctor. A small thing that annoyed me was the medication. When I receive medication for my vet, it is always halved or quartered. Blue pearl left that for me to do. I was notified multiple times that I would be receiving an email regarding his treatment 24 to 48 hours after picking him up. It’s been five days and I haven’t received anything but a survey. I’m not at all impressed with blue pearls customer service. I don’t think I’ll be returning

Experiencia negativa: This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a veterinary clinic. Let me start by saying that I completely understand emergency clinics prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition. I even called ahead (and I live an hour away) to explain what was happening with my dog. His neck and face had suddenly become very swollen and were worsening by the hour. I was told I should definitely bring him in, as swelling in the neck can cause breathing issues. When we arrived, they took my dog to the back in a crate. I waited for hours, which I expected — however, no one checked on me, no one assessed him, and no one came to discuss a care plan. I waited so long that I genuinely feared they were going to come tell me my dog had died alone in a crate. I was placed in an exam room with sticky floors and dog urine everywhere. I sat there unattended for hours. When I finally left the room to look for answers, I discovered the front desk had changed shifts and didn’t even know I was back there. Within two minutes of me stepping out to ask about my dog’s condition, they filled my room with another client, simply because I was waiting for answers. I was then left again with no staff in sight for another 30 minutes. I finally flagged down a veterinary assistant and asked for my dog so I could leave. They brought him out, and that was it — no explanation, no update, nothing. To make matters worse, the room next to mine appeared to be a designated room for grieving owners whose pets had passed away. The sound of a man’s cries echoed loudly into my room. I became physically ill and started crying, terrified that this would soon be me if my dog didn’t make it through this. This experience was distressing, disorganized, and completely unacceptable

Experiencia fantástica: We were referred here from our trusted vets in Carson Valley for after hours E/R care. We rescue senior German Shepherds and after 33 years, our 6th went from happy and normal to bleeding in an hour. The staff here work in a place that see strangers such as us come through their doors in great distress. The pets are ill and the owners are consumed with anxiety. Experiencia positiva: We arrived at 12:30PM on a Thursday. They took our pet back right away to check his vitals and to be seen by a vet. We waited about 10 minutes in the waiting room and then were taken back to an exam room and waited probably 5-10 min where we met with the vet to discuss our pet’s situation and options for treatment. Our issue was dental distress. We were out of there within an hour. Staff were very kind and friendly and professional. It is a bit pricey for consult fees but they appear to have more advanced equipment for diagnosis so that we weren’t sent scrambling elsewhere for further treatment due to lack of proper equipment. We were given antibiotics and pain medications for our pet immediately to help with inflammation and pain until we could make a follow up appointment for treatment.

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog had an ACL tear and they got us right in with the surgeon. They were very professional, gave us all the details of the injury, what all of our options were and treated us as if we were a family member. They called several times throughout the day of his surgery to give us updates on his status and gave us specific directions on his aftercare. This is the only place I'll take my animals to in case of an emergency. They're awesome!!

Experiencia fantástica: When our standard poodle broke his tibia/fibula on a hike on Thanksgiving day, this was the only vet hospital open & Dr. Cousins & vet nurses did triage on him stat, doing xrays, putting on splint and cast and making amazing referral to a ucdavis trained vet who was miraculously available on Black Friday. Experiencia negativa: I took my lab to Blue Pearl and was there 15 minutes and $210 for them to tell me my dog had a digit tumor and they could not help me and to go to my regular vet. My regular vet is a sole doctor in practice and getting in is month(s) away. Not to sure why my lab was turned away!

Experiencia fantástica: We live full time traveling in our rv. Prior to leaving San Diego, our Australian Shepherd developed an abscess in a tooth. The ER vet in SD gave us antibiotics and pain medication with the promise we'd have him checked in Reno, our next stop. We found Blue Pearl /Sierra Animal Hospital. They got us in the next day and performed his extraction and cleaning. Everyone was wonderful. I felt comfortable leaving my bebe with them for surgery. Gave us all the info for after care, very meticulous as to not miss anything!! Very relieved we went with Blue Pearls

Experiencia fantástica: I needed to have my boy Finn, a handsome, smart, Corgi, seen on a Saturday, so I decided on BluePearl Pet Hospital. I found the staff to be kind, empathetic, and professional. I was kept aware of Finn's progress after he was taken back for his exam. I didn't have to wait long for the veterinary assistant to speak to me regarding Finn's health history. The doctor was great at explaining what she felt was needed for an informed diagnosis. I know a visit to an emergency vet is never an expense we plan for, but I felt that the estimated charges for Finn's care were not unreasonable. I knew it wouldn't be an inexpensive visit, but Finn is an amazing guy, and worth taking good care of. It's a responsibility I accepted when I added him to my family. Tests were done and the agreed upon care was administered while I waited. The doctor explained the test results, immediate care, and the aftercare plan for me in a manner I could comprehend. She made sure medication was explained, and any questions I had were answered. I feel that everyone did a great job caring for my guy, and I would return there if emergency care was necessary for either of my dogs. I really appreciate the cleanliness of the facility, the efficiency of the staff, and Dr. Bahr and the vet technicians who cared for Finn. We are very grateful.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my dog in Sunday for a medical emergency. He had surgery Monday night and was released two days later. The staff is great and very caring. They call you with updates and if you want to know how your pet is doing you can call in anytime.

Experiencia negativa: I had an emergency with my animal I called I let them know we have no money and then I won't qualify for the credit thing... the receptionist absolutely was not helpful in any kind of way by letting me know they do not take payments... she was silence and it was just as such an uncaring call... so my two boys and I are freaking out because we don't know what to do or where to go over to take her to get help... so I thought I would just try another place... and that place was all open arms to my boys and my animal it was not about the money it was about getting her cared for.... when I took her to the other Animal Hospital I ended up getting approved for the credit thing, and they help my dog and they got paid, the point is that they were so welcoming and open arms and caring for what was going on versus oh no you don't have any money where there's nothing we can do I will never ever recommend this place to anybody... I have never spoken to such an uncaring person in the medical field... I took my dog to the emergency Animal Hospital in South Virginia and I will never go anyplace else... I thank them for caring and tending and treating my dog so that she did not die unlike Blue Pearl Pet Hospital who denied me because I didn't have any money

Experiencia negativa: Our dog spent the night with blue pearl after ingesting grapes. We were called the following morning and told that he needed to be put down. Once there we expressed that if we were going to put him down, it would be at home where he felt comfortable. We were met with attitude that was borderline aggressive. We were asked to sign paperwork stating we were going against what they suggested, which is normal. The attitude was unnecessary. On our way home took him to our vet for a second opinion while setting up in home euthanasia. First thing following morning, our vet saw him again and told us to cancel the euthanasia. It has been a month and two weeks and he is perfectly fine. Today All of his numbers came back 100% normal. When using blue pearl I urge you to always get a second opinion. They may be your only emergency option but always follow up with a different vet if possible. Grateful they were wrong, thankful we followed our gut and pissed that we almost lost our dog because of their ignorance.

Experiencia fantástica: We arrived at BluePearl Reno at ~3:30am and they were there and ready for us! Our dog was pooping blood every 20 minutes. We thought we were going to loose him. They took very good care of him(gave intervenious fluids, antibiotics and probiotics). He responded very well and is now back home and in his regular routine. Experiencia fantástica: Brought my 7 year old cat in on Sunday who has stage 3 kidney disease. We woke up to the sound of him throwing up two times. Not a good sign in kidney disease, so we ran him to Blue Pearl for hydration and anti nausea medicine. Every single staff member from the front desk to the Dr couldn’t have been nicer. We were there for almost 4 hours, as they had some pretty serious emergencies come in shortly after us, however, they touched base with us as often as possible and let us know what was going on. We had an expensive day, but it was not more than you would expect for emergency care.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter just got home from this vet. 5 hours and over $400 later, they could not tell her what was wrong with her cat. They took the cat back when she arrived and the she sat for 2 hours with no info. 2 hours!! The finally took her back toa room, she waited another 2 hours, before the vet FINALLY talked to her They could find nothing wrong, besides cat being reactive to having her hips and back touched ( which my daughter had told them already, she is a 14 yr old cat and was not eating or drinking). Unless my daughter wanted to pay another $2000 for blood and xrays, they couldn't tell her anything. They also left this poor cat in her crate the whole time. They sent her home with pain meds and appetite meds. This is the crappy service she received for her poor cat. Never go or recommend them !!!
