Experiencia positiva: I have been going to this Vet for over 8 years and usually get Dr. Morford or Dr. Bagget. Both are great and very friendly helpful. Shots and medication are not the cheapest around but location is convenient and staff is usually pretty good, although there seems to be a lot of turnover. This last visit was just to update my husky's bordatella vax. I had a 10am appointment, showed up at 9:50, but wasn't seen until 1030. No big deal, but not the best either. The online app for appointments is convenient, but seems glitchy. It double books or sends weird time confirmations (like 1 am). Make sure to call to confirm times.

Experiencia fantástica: They are patient even if you are not. Lol I had a rough go with my husbands dog in there at first. We took him outside and waited for our appointment. They came and got us. Once we were in the room and calmed down, they continued to be amazing. They explained everything, went through options, and were fiscally aware giving the best, and least expensive routes with the dog's health in mind. So yeah, they get an A+ from us!!

Peavine Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: My cat passed away recently, and Peavine should have done better. Dr. Bagget diagnosed him with FCoV, and he didn't call me back for 3 months. He needed a blood transfusion, and that experimental GS-441524. Peavine only gave me eyedrops to take home, no suggestion of any real treatment. You are better off looking for support groups to help you find a cure for your pet if you know the diagnosis. Vets won't help you since these cures aren't FDA-approved, and they don't care. If your cat is dying of it, FIP Warriors is on Facebook and they can help you get the medication. I didn't know until now that my cat is gone. Don't trust vets, do your own research and ask real people. My biggest regret was wasting time because I listened to Peavine. Their credentials don't mean anything, they have no authority on the matter, just the equipment to test for diseases. All those days I wasted putting eyedrops in my cat's already blind eye, I could've researched FIP. I waited 3 months for these guys to call me back, just to repeat the FCoV report. I was confused. They should've emailed or printed a paper with the disease and levels. My cat's never coming back. Peavine should have offered euthanasia if not the FIP cure. You let him suffer for 3 months, wasting time with those eyedrops. It agonized him. And we did it mindlessly because you told us to. And you called back when his time was about up. You should have offered euthanasia, you probably knew he would die.
We are very sorry for the loss of your cat.

Experiencia fantástica: I was duly impressed with the staff I dealt with. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and quite competent. I received a thorough explanation of the problem and what the vet intended to do to solve it, along with the things I needed to do post visit.

Experiencia fantástica: I don’t normally leave reviews, but I feel like I should start doing it as it can be rough to find places that do authentic good work. I have found this to be especially true in the vet world - I have had vet experiences from negative to mid, and it has left me quite anxious and cynical about vet visits, especially because my kitty is extremely shy and LOATHES car rides and strangers, already making vet visits a major point of stress for both of us. We just had our first visit with this place yesterday, but I was left with a very positive impression. Front desk was not only nice but very attentive and eager to help any person (or animal!) coming through the doors however they could. The doctors I dealt with seemed very skilled at not only handling and navigating my difficult kitty and getting whatever data they could, but also treated me with kindness and never made me feel guilty for her behavior or made me feel like a bad cat mom which I am always so worried about. And not only did I have a good experience, I witnessed them handle all other patients in person and on the phone with so much professionalism and genuine warmth in the short time I was there. I know that nowhere will be perfect, but I feel grateful to have found this place. Kitty is now on a simple treatment plan I feel good about, and I will throw in that I found everything to be very reasonably priced. Thank you for being so patient with my very distressed kitty and making us feel like you actually care. Maybe from now on her visits won’t be so bad. :)

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed. Our pet is alive for 15 years and seen by you. And suddenly we are “inhumane” because our pet is old. Just not right. It’s an easy money, to be paid for animal euthanasia. I have children that grew up with our pet and holiday is coming. Thank you for sending animal control, and she saw the situation and we are not cruel to animals, despite, we love our pets and treated them like a family members. Our pet is comfortable in our home. Im raising children and I know they will be pet owners too, because they just love pets and they care for all animals. In these situation, you could have help me how learning kids could understand animal old age and end-of-life. Maybe, try and discuss plan of care for the old pet. And make a deep dive on your evaluation before judging people.
We are sorry this experience was upsetting for your family. Situations involving senior pets and end-of-life concerns are emotionally difficult, and we understand how personal these moments can be.
During your visit, our medical team completed an evaluation and discussed recommended options and a plan of care based on professional veterinary standards and concerns for your pet’s welfare. Those recommendations were reviewed at the time and ultimately declined. Our role as veterinary professionals is to advocate for an animal’s health, comfort, and humane treatment, even when those conversations are hard.
Any further actions taken are never done lightly and are guided by medical, ethical, and legal responsibilities—not by judgment, finances, or personal circumstances. Euthanasia is only discussed when medically appropriate and is never approached casually.
We care deeply about our patients and the families who love them, including supporting owners and children through difficult stages of a pet’s life when possible. While we regret that this experience felt negative, we stand by the professionalism and medical judgment of our team.

Experiencia negativa: The vets that work here, I genuinely do not have any complaints about. The front desk on the other hand is HORRIBLE. They are rude. Multiple times over the phone they have had extreme attitude and acted like I was disrupting their day by calling with questions. I am changing vets due to the front desk staff. Do not recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my small dog here since she was a pup. During COVID, they were very professional about handling social distancing between people while also doing a great job handling all of the pets. The staff has always been incredibly friendly. The Dr.s are all helpful,patient, and knowledgeable. I recently had to take my dog in for a test that needed to be completed within a certain timeframe and they were able to squeeze me in and were also very understanding and still saw me when I was 5 min late for my appointment due to traffic. Their pricing has always been reasonable, and although they are not the cheapest vet, you pay for what you get, and we ALWAYS get great service and have the best experience possible, everytime.

Experiencia positiva: I brought 2 dogs in...first appointment was at 3pm. I checked in a few minutes before. At 3:30pm we were still waiting and I had to go in and inquire what was taking so long. As i am standing at the front counter, the chart was handed to a tech. Nobody told the tech I was standing right there so she goes outside to find me. The last couple times I've been there things just seem a little chaotic.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this vet. All vets are overpriced though. These vets will actually get on the ground and play with your dog and cat. I wish their rooms were cooler especially when you have a dog in the summer who is already nauseous. I also wish they would do something about the noise like put sound proofing in because there have been a few times it sounded like a dog was being murdered, just overly excited or stressed and let me tell you it scared the crap out of my dog. I had to try and not show my extreme stress to my dog and try to make it into a game the dog was playing next door instead of a scary situation. I really really wish all vets could lower costs because there are so many animals who need treatment and don't receive because of the cost. Peavine is one of the better ones. Trust me I've been to them all. They really do care and try their best( just please cool the rooms down for nauseous animals and try sound proofing some). God bless you guys for all you've done for all my kids.

Experiencia negativa: I can not in good conscience recommend this vet anymore. I have been taking my pets here for years. Prior to the merger it was fantastic it was easy to get appointmens and they always answered phone. Afterwards not so much... it became very hard to get someonecto answer the phone for appointments and they were scheduled a long way out. The staff became much less pleasant as well. All of this I did my best to take on stride as there wasn't another vet nearby. However after the experience of the most recent visit I left already looking for a new place. I once again took multiple calls to get somepne to answer and then the earliest appointment was over a month out. Add to this I was not told until I arrived that the very nice vet (Dr. Redshaw) we had seen the previous year had left the practice months before. That was a bit annoying and if it had been the only problem that would have been the end of it. The real problem was Dr. Adrian Gammon... this person ranks as one of the most unpleasant people I have ever had the displeasure to meet. She was immensely rude and condescending as well as being completely unhelpful on any way to answer the questions I had about my pet's health. And to top it off I just found out they were charging over twice the price for my pet's medication as other vets/pharmacies. Shame on you for taking advantage of your clients. Within a few hours of leaving and just a single call I had a new appointment at VCA Animal hospital for a couple days later. After that visit I had answers for nearly all my questions and the few others were just needed the bloodwork to come back first. If you need a new vet I highly suggest giving VCA on Baring Blvd a chance the staff is beyond great. Very friendly and helpful.

Friendly, courteous, and above all Professional, from drop off to pick up. Two courtesy calls prior to pick up notice went a long way to keep my stress in check, and Dr Morford taking the time to go over everything sure helped in post visit care schedule. Experiencia fantástica: I called at 8am to see if I could bring my dog in as he was limping pretty badly. He wouldn't let me touch his paw so I assumed he had a splinter or other foreign body stuck in his paw. The receptionist said bring him in for immediate care, which I did. Fortunately, it turned out to be a sprain and he would just need to stay off his feet for a few days, what a relief. He's resting and so am I. Thanks, Peavine.

Experiencia fantástica: We take all of our doggies here for years now, and for good reason. Office staff is super kind and friendly. Most pertinent is the competency, knowledge, and empathy of the doctors. We have been to blue pearl, creature comforts, and quite a few others over the years and this is where we settled. And for good reason. I no longer trust any other Vet in Northern Nevada to take care of my doggies. I have not one bad thing to report while Peavine has been caring for my 3 doggies for 3 years now- at least 7-9 interactions.

Have to change my review from five stars to one. Since the renaming/reopening it’s always some little thing. Any one of them by itself is no big deal but accumulative. Appointments are weeks ahead, not next day. You're the only place near me, that I can drive to without getting into an accident, without making my cat wait 30 minutes in the drive. My cat is going to die. Today is Saturday, I can't wait 2 days. My cat won't move from his bed, he's skin and bone, he is going to die.

Experiencia negativa: I am happy with the care Peavine Animal Hospital provides. I took my dog to have a lump looked at and the veterinarian likes to assess the animals alone. My dog was taken into another room to be assessed, and I am not ok with that. I again took her to get a rabies vaccine this past Monday and again the same thing occurred. They told me that the vet tech would assess my dog and provide the vaccine. I told them no and they did accommodate my request this time. I do not understand the way they run their practice. If I took my child to the pediatrician, they wouldn't take my child away for the visit. I pay for the visit, the vaccines, and the assessments and I wish to be included for all of that. Covid times are over.

My dog, Bentley, has had numerous health issues over the past 4 to 5 months. Dr. Baggett and the team have been incredibly compassionate, sympathetic, resourceful, and patient. Dr. Baggett spent a lot of time to learn about what was going on with Bentley. He recommended several different treatments over the 4-5 months to try to reach a satisfactory medical resolution. He was very patient with answering my questions and actively listened to my reports of Bentley’s evolving symptoms. With Dr Baggett, I felt like I had a partner invested in Bentley’s care. Experiencia negativa: I use to love going there. I always had dr Bagget.when I would ask for him they tried to give me someone else. That is not OK. When I referred my friend to him, they gave her a temp who killed her dog with in five days. She brought him in to say he had a reaction to the oral shot. They told her they can't see him and to take him to urgent care. When Dr Bagget owned it our animals were well taken care of. I think these people need to know we pay their bills, not the other way around. So the answer to your question I did not have my dogs seen. I made another appointment with Dr Bagget. My dogs have to suffer not getting their exams , vaccines, and medications because of human error? Not okay in my book.

Experiencia fantástica: We have always been happy coming to this veterinarian’s office. We have been coming here on and off for over 17 years. All of the veterinarians are very nice and the staff is so friendly and helpful! Having some physical issues, they are always very nice about coming out to help me with my dog to bring her in, and back to my car when she’s done. I feel very comfortable with their knowledge and have always trusted their opinion, whether it be for a recommended surgical procedure or just getting her started on a new medication. When I have had concerns, they are very open to hearing me out and even offer alternative measures if necessary. Thank you all so much!

Experiencia negativa: Over priced/ price gouging. The short while I was sitting in the office, everyone that came in was astonished by how much their visit would cost. I also was astonished when I was told how much my visit would cost. I went through reviews on here and many other people have the same opinion of how over priced their services were. The office staff was friendly enough and accommodating. But I won’t be going back because the price is just ridiculous.

Experiencia fantástica: I have so much to say…. It’s unreal the care and compassion shown by this office and all staff. Dr Redshaw is amazing and so is Dr. Bagger. Kalli the assistant to the veterinarians is beyond caring and understanding. All of the office Maddie..Meghan and Katie have been beyond understanding and helpful. My pet has serious issues and he is also a super difficult patient due to past trauma. They have been so kind and professional and SUPER UNDERSTANDING. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Baggett is WONDERFUL with all of our pets. He is gentle, caring, and thoughtful. Puckly is a very finicky cat. She needed some hair mats removed that we thought would require sedating her. He had no issues getting them removed without any sedation! Miracle worker, because she would growl, hiss, and claw at us if we tried by ourselves. Dr. Baggett is the BEST in the business!

Experiencia negativa: If you love your pet- don’t come here. Vet convinced me that my dog was sad because her tooth broke. I wanted a second opinion so i went to another vet to confirm and they also recommended it be removed. I scheduled the visit and when i picked her up I was shocked to have them tell me, AFTER I PAID, that he decided not to remove the tooth but to do a cleaning instead.I NEVER agreed to that nor would I ever put my elderly dog under for a cleaning!

Experiencia negativa: Two days ago I called to get my cat’s medication refilled. He has stage 4 large cell lymphoma and he is on steroids to make his end of life care more comfortable. When I called I informed them it was urgent. This happened at 8 am. I’ve since called in 6 more time and have not heard a peep about my cat’s mediation. Because of their negligence he may go without, and this may cause him permanent harm, or his death. If you are looking for a vet, I recommend choosing one that actually cares about the dying animals under their care.

Experiencia fantástica: Extremely appreciative of the care Chino, our 14+ year old pittie-weimaraner mix pup received for ongoing skin issues. The gentle, kind staff including Dr Morford, allowed for options ranging from palliative vs investigative approach and upfront costs and realistic outcomes. We have always appreciated the calm , patient environment exuded by everyone whenever we have had issues with our pups.

Experiencia negativa: Here is a brief summary of the experience at Peavine. If you call to speak to the vets office, you are put on hold for an average of 7-10 min each time. If you’re in for an appointment, good vets but if it can be charged, peavine will charge it. Here is the example. My pet had a successful treatment for interdigitary cysts with the use of prednisone. Prior to use, a blood test was done to see if my pet was able to take the medicine as prednisone raises white blood cell counts. The cysts came back around 3 months later and instead of just doing another round of prednisone, I was asked to pay for another round of blood tests and 2 other unnecessary tests amounting to $936. Money grab vet office with very very poor service from the front staff. They combined 2 vets and made 1 big office with waaaay tooo many pets.

Experiencia fantástica: This vet has been the best vet I’ve gone to in the Reno area. They are extremely attentive and friendly. They are willing to give you as much time as you need to ask questions. I appreciated how they educated me about my dogs conditions. Overall I love how kind they were and how easy they made the service for my dog!

Experiencia fantástica: I moved all of my dogs over to Peavine because of a recent move. I really want to commend the front counter assistants for how organized they were at getting me checked in. I love the fact that my appointment time was actually the time I had my appointment and I didn't sit in the lobby for a half hour waiting. The vet tech and vet who took care of my dog were friendly to me, but more important they made my doggo feel safe and calm. What a great experience. Thank you Peavine.

Experiencia fantástica: I have 2 sheltie sheephearder dogs. My dogs are scared of everything. So it's a bit stressful getting to the vet. But once we are there and in a room. They are a bit calmer. They vet is very kind and loving to them. The vet assistants and the front check in associates / reception are so nice too. They have helped me out getting my dogs back in the car. Everyone has always been really nice and helpful. This last vet visit, I asked a ton of questions and the vet was patient and answered all of them. She didn't get annoyed. She didn't make me feel rushed. I appreciate the care they provide to us and our doggies.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been going to Peavine Animal Hospital (previous North Hills) for 4 1/2 years. I appreciate the care & attention they give. They are great for WellCare, annual check up, routine vaccines. If your animal is sick or hurt, chamced of seeing a Vet at Peavine Vet are slim to none, they are so booked. I’ve had to go to an emergency vet the last few times my pets were sick.

We are very sorry that is is difficult to get an appt. We do offer urgent care visits on Monday, Wednesday and Friday if you are ever in need again. Trust us we would love to clone our Vets to get more appointments!

Experiencia fantástica: This is the most caring vet office I have ever been to. My husky got injured not once but twice in a short amount of time, the second time was life threatening. The vet was so caring, understanding and supportive of the healing process, bandaid changes and loads of medication he needed to stay alive. The tremendous amount of love, care and compassion was evident... and on Thanksgiving Eve I couldn't be more thankful to have my HEALTHY, happy, back to his goofy self pup, here with me. Your vet staff is so committed and I appreciate everything you've done for my family and fur baby. Expect a walk in visit from Odie to say THANK YOU soon. ❤️
