Experiencia fantástica: Rivet goes to Cascade for Physical Therapy with Sara. He's a nervous boy sometimes and Sara is the kindest soul. She has Rivet excited for PT and to visit. Sara is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. The front staff are all very sweet when they see Rivet. 100% if you're dog needs any type of physical therapy, it's worth the time and the money. They are amazing!

Sara has been incredibly patient, gentle, and creative in helping Monte feel safe. She even found ways to make the clinic less scary for her, and now Monte actually thrives during sessions instead of being nervous. Sara truly cares, and it shows in every session. We’re so grateful for everything she’s done for Monte’s progress and confidence❤️

Experiencia fantástica: My family visited Dr. Clayton Siegel in July after health concerns arose in regards to our 16 year old cat. Him specifically and his clinic were highly recommended to our family. Dr. Siegel was incredible with our cat, Smores, and answered all of our questions. The vet tech was exceptional as well. Dr. Siegel personally called us to discuss our cats labs and was able to come up with a game plan for the next few months. Smores had thyroid problems, aggressive food habits, and litter box problems. With Dr. Siegel’s treatment plan, our cat got around 75% better, which Dr. Siegel expected. Dr. Siegel was completely transparent regarding what may arise with him beginning the regimen, and he was spot on. Unfortunately, we decided as a family to put our cat down on Wednesday. Dr. Siegel was in surgeries all week, so we were scheduled with Dr. Holly. She was absolutely exceptional and answered every single question we had (which were quite a few). We did not feel rushed whatsoever and were able to take time with S’more’s before his final moments. The clinic had treats, tissues, and everything you would need for this time of difficulty. Dr. Holly and Dr. Siegel even sent us a hand written sympathy note, with some memories of s’mores. It was appreciated more than they will know. I will recommend Dr. Siegel and Dr. Holly to all our family and friends. Thank you, Cascade Hospital. The Miller Family

Experiencia fantástica: After surgery complications at another vet and several ER visits over the weekend, our pup needed some immediate wound care. Cascade got us in within 24 hours! They were compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient throughout the whole process even knowing that we would eventually be finding a more local vet for long term care (we live 2 hours away). Amazing care and support from the front desk, tech intake and vet performing procedure. Vet talked to us before procedure and then called us after with detailed information and answered all of our questions. The front desk was so helpful gathering records from er and other vet and sending them all to me digitally to have for future care. Great place! It is expensive, but they are willing to help! Teddy is in his way to recovery!

Frannie isn’t a regular patient at CHFA, but you got her in for an urgent care appointment without hesitation. What would have cost a fortune at an emergency vet was very reasonably priced here. Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely the most knowledgeable and compassionate veterinary practice in SW Michigan. They have complete updated facilities to perform any procedure necessary in my experience. No sending you somewhere else for services. I have taken all my rescued animals to Cascade Hospital for Animals for 15 years and will continue to do so. They can be trusted completely. They also ask permission before providing services, so we know where we stand. I appreciate that they have wonderful hours so I don't end up going to an emergency vet. I can always get an appt. and that means the world to me and my animals. They treat a wide variety such as exotics also and are very experienced in all kinds of pets. I would go nowhere else. I drive 50 miles to Cascade and it's worth every minute of the drive!!!

Experiencia positiva: We moved here last year and were recommended by my previous behavioural vet. We bring both of our pups here and have seen multiple vets. Mr. Mincks specifically has been so compassionate and understanding when caring for our highly anxious and sensitive boy. Our experience with the other vets has been stellar as well. I love that I can usually get a same day appointment if it's an emergency and they are always so loving to our boys. I recommend this practice to everyone!

After another vet immediately jumped into conversations about $5k surgeries that might not even work, or just amputating our 2 month old puppies leg… we came here for a second opinion. It took 8 X-rays to even find the fracture as it was so mild and they splinted it up as well as provided all medications needed for less than the cost of one X-ray at the crazy place who wanted to cut his leg off!!

Nerondia came in to help get history and we had a great visit with Dr. Paplawsky and his Veterinary Assistant Bre. I know Molly is in the best hands. The team is very knowledgeable and spends the time to discuss Molly’s health and best practices as she gets older. I don’t think it’s luck that my girl is 15 (and a half)! Experiencia fantástica: I originally was put in touch with this office after my vet recommended hydrotherapy for my dog with multiple knee surgeries. The results we witnessed were so impressive that years later we reached back out to schedule physical therapy when our senior dog started to struggle with walking. Once again, the results have been so amazing that we’ve continued to schedule appointments well beyond the originally recommended number. Emily is such an amazing physical therapist who clearly loves the dogs she works with, even our reactive dog who sometimes has strong opinions on what is and is not okay. Our dog generally doesn’t like people, but Emily is her best friend! I can’t say enough positives about this place and Emily.

It started with sitting down with the dental tech and she explained the procedure thoroughly. They took great care of him afterwards and sent detailed instructions. The next day they called to check on how he was doing! I know my kitty is in good hands here.

Experiencia fantástica: Knowledgeable and caring staff at every level of care. I have 5 cats and a dog. I never have a preferred doctor because every one of them is great. They are maybe a little pricier than other places, but well worth the expertise and peace of mind.

Experiencia negativa: Dislike very much the size of the chairs in the cat area. For any other understanding we all have cat carriers and need to safely place them on there but they don’t give a safe space for them. Especially when I show up 30 minutes early and wait and my cats stressed out I have to hold the carrier alone. Other than that great vets

Experiencia fantástica: I LOVE CHFA. I have been taking my reactive, rescue GSD who has a really hard time with vet care here for two years and they are phenomenal. Dr. Mincks has helped us manage her reactivity with the right combination of medications. They are always so understanding and helpful to everything my girl and I are dealing with. These vets and vet techs take such good care of my anxious girl when she’s there and they are always so kind. Highly recommend if you’re in the Grand Rapids area to check out either location. We go to both and have had wonderful experiences all around.

We have lived here for over 50 years and have never been treated so well. We absolutely love how they are proactive and compassionate about everything. The entire staff was just incredible. Not only was Cascade able to fit us in, they spent a lot of time on the phone with me talking through my concerns and helping to alleviate my dog's pain and discomfort leading up to the surgery. During and after the surgery, all of the medical staff, especially Tori, did an amazing job making sure we understood what was going on and took amazing care of our dog. Cascade was there for us during a really stressful time and did an amazing job and we're excited to use their services for all of our pets moving forward.

The facility was clean and every staff member was friendly and answered all of our questions. You can tell the staff all loves animals. We haven't had an emergency situation yet, but I am confident they will be able to handle it.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been bringing our cat and two dogs to Cascade/Breton Village for around three years now and have had such a great experience overall. I always feel like I am getting things explained in detail to me regarding procedures and costs, and that my pets are getting the best care possible. They provide really helpful estimates with breakdowns of charges for larger procedures and dental work. We have run into some health issues recently with two of our pets and it prompted me to leave this review due to how great the entire team has been, from the front desk to vet techs to doctors. We recently learned that our four year old mixed breed dog tore her ACL and needs an intensive surgery to get her back up to speed. It was hard news to hear, but I felt like Dr. Clayton Siegle and the team did a great job of giving us all the info we needed to make an informed decision. He was very friendly and positive. We also had to bring our cat in for a dental cleaning and extractions yesterday. I felt like she was in amazing hands with Dr. Maia Godfrey, who also was very kind and open in speaking with me. She let me know I could call at any time to check on our cat. We had to remove more teeth than I had hoped, but Dr. Godfrey explained the situation to me and her recommendation, which made me feel like it was the right decision. If we hadn’t brought our cat in for this dental procedure, I would’ve never known how much pain she was in. Really excited to see her bounce back in a few days. Overall, it’s been three years of positive interactions and top notch care for our pets. It’s an empathetic, knowledgeable team. I see in some reviews complaints about cost, but I never feel any pressure or get unnecessary procedures recommended like I have had with other vets in the past. It’s honest, quality care for the three most important little beings in my life.

They were professional, courteous, thorough and terrific interacting with Rockne. The whole staff is always great to work with!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I were in the process of moving our animals abroad and our pet shipper made a few mistakes that caused our animals to be delayed. Cascade Animal Hospitals International Travel Team has been absolutely amazing in helping us to get our animals ready to travel. I've mostly been in communication with Katelyn and she has been so organized, helpful and so patient answering all of my questions. She has been truly amazing! Due to our animals not being able to travel with us, my husband and I had to call into our dogs appointment and the staff was friendly, so organized and they made sure we had all of our questions answered. Our dog has safely arrived in Japan and we wouldn't have been able to do it without them. We are so thankful for Cascade Animal Hospital and their staff!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been bringing my beloved pets to Cascade Hospital for Animals for over 30 years. I highly recommend them. From what I understand, they may be slightly more expensive than some other clinics, but they are professionals that offer exceptional service. The prices always seem fair to me. I have also utilized their grooming services.

Experiencia negativa: Our Dog had a dislocated shoulder they did give him pain relief. However he sat for over 10 hours before they tried to treat him. They then told us they have 5 vets trying to reset it and could not note we were charged $2400 for pain relief. We then asked them to refuse him to Dr. Rinzler at the Great Lakes Veterinary Surgical Center. My dog was in Dr Rinzler's care for 15 minutes and his should was back in place. He was kept overnight with pain relief and was put in a rather extensive cast system to promote the healing of muscles and ligament to heal properly. He was fed giving multiple meds to go home with him along with a water proof boot to protect the cast. The Grand total of Dr Rinzlers service was $890 Within all being said I feel like I was taken to the cleaners by the emergency hospital ($2400) and also believe they were lacking practical medical experience (by 5 doctors)to help my dog furthermore the longer it was left unset the more damage there was to the surrounding tissue. This is a medical fact. With this being said if I ever have another emergency my dog will be treated quicker if I drive to Michigan State University which I will do in the future. To say the very least they cared more about the money than treating my dog in a timely compassionate manner. I di give them 2 stars as they did relieve his pain plus my wallet Bruce Simonelli

Experiencia positiva: This vet has taken care of four of our animals. Today I came in with a sick dog and I have been here an hour and have not seen a doctor yet. My appointment was at 11:40. It is now 12:41. Just disappointed they didn't keep their time or at least let me know I'd have to wait. I'm giving it another five minutes and I have to go. I have another appointment. They've been very good but this was disappointing. I did speak to the vet. She was absolutely wonderful and did explain it's like an ER so they will tell people from now on. As usual their care is amazing. Thank you Cascade animals for taking care of my baby.

Experiencia fantástica: The BEST vet experience I’ve ever had! Cascade Hospital for Animals was wonderful and if I could give them more stars I would. I brought one of my girls in for a wellness visit and to update some of her vaccinations. This was our first time in and we were greeted so nicely, checked in quickly, and seen immediately. Augie was our vet tech and he was very kind and thorough. Dr. Schaffer was our veterinarian and she was wonderful and very efficient! The exam itself only took a couple of minutes and we accomplished all that we need to. I cannot wait to bring my other dogs in to see Dr. Schaffer and her team! Thank you for making this a great experience! (Especially coming from someone who hates trying new experiences!)

Dr. Paploeski and nurse Emily helped my husky, Freddie, improve her strength and increase her leg muscles after she had surgery on both her ACLs earlier this year. I am very pleased with the care she received, the personalized therapy plan, the friendly staff, and the results after her 6 weeks. Plus, Freddie thoroughly enjoyed her appointments and Nurse Emily :)

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely the BEST veterinary clinic in Grand Rapids. Our dog was bit and instead of bringing us in just to tell us he’s okay and sending a bill, they investigated pictures, told us what to watch for, and when we should be concerned.He is completely fine and healing. Our dog has also gotten a semi-major surgery through them and when he became infected they took him overnight, cleaned and restitched, and even covered some of the additional fees. I have always felt they give the BEST service, they are very bright, well organized, and kind. Feels like a place that hires the best of the best in the Grand Rapids area. In a day where customer service is almost becoming a thing of the past… this place goes above and beyond. There pricing isn’t low but it’s competitive and fair. We have never felt they are trying to make a buck off of a bad situation for us. We trust them with our furbaby’s life… what more could you ask for?

They addressed all of my questions and concerns. The surgery went well and they had well written instructions and took great care during the follow up appointments. The staff was great. They all seem to really love pets and strive to put them first. My pup and I are so very grateful to the doctor, staff and CHFA!! 10/10 highly recommend

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Fuller is one of the best vets in Grand Rapids and I highly recommend her for any of your animal needs. I absolutely trust her opinion and she’s always very gentle with our pup. We are so lucky to have her supporting us with her vet services. (We haven’t had the best experience with all of the vets here because of some being dismissive and too rough with our senior dog.)

Experiencia fantástica: I was very nervous switching to a new vet. Even more so because my husband would be the one bringing him in. Beezer is a handful. Loud, obnoxious, and has a really embarrassing habit of peeing when in new places. I am not much of a treat myself unable to give up control. Dr. Longcore and her technicians worked so well with my crazy boy and took my miles of written directions in stride. Even my husband (who rarely notices anything) said he was very impressed. Thank you for caring for my boy not judging him by breed and how he acts away from home. You guys rock!

Experiencia negativa: I have been to Cascade multiple times with a few of my animals in the past and have always received great service. However, I visited Cascade for a second opinion with my 4 month old puppy who has had some on going issues on January 11th. They charged me an outrageous amount for bloodwork and urinalysis last week, to which I never received the results. I was told that I would be receiving a phone call or some form of communication within 2-3 days after he had visited them. It has now been over a week and I have still heard nothing from Cascade. I called Cascade on Monday, January 16th, to see if there was an update on the results. The receptionist (who was very kind), let me know that they would expedite the process and would get back to me ASAP when the results came in. I went back to my primary vet this morning for routine vaccines for my pup and they informed me that they had the results from Cascade. I was extremely upset to know that they had received the results and I still have not heard a word from Cascade. Cascade was supposed to get back to me with, not only the results, but a game plan going forward - whether they were going to be able to help us, or refer us to a specialist. This is an ongoing issue that I don’t want to prolong any longer than I have to and Cascade, knowing that I went to them for a second opinion, did not follow through with my expectations. Although I didn’t have an experience that was necessarily bad, it was the lack of communication, respect, and urgency that I expected to receive from a second opinion that will be the reason I will not be returning to Cascade in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: Knowledgeable staff, vet techs and doctors are just a phone call away. Multiple separate rooms at the center for cats and dogs. Surgical suites, prescription food supply, leashes, treats and more are available in the store section. They have separate entrances for cats and dogs to keep the peace. Ample parking and a dedicated rewards program. What more could you ask for.

Experiencia negativa: The staff is super nice and the facility is great. This vet just isn't the one for us. If you're looking for fast paced, higher prices, and care that isn't very personable, this will be great for you.

Experiencia fantástica: We could not be happier with our experience at Cascade Hospital for Animals with Dr. Fuller! Our highly anxious dog had really poor experiences at another vet, and Dr. Fuller and the vet techs took the time to get to know our pup, work with him and us to determine what would be most successful, and have always been transparent and kind. We love them!

Experiencia fantástica: Started going there 20+ years ago when we had birds. Now we take all out pets there. The vets are great, we have used their grooming services and were happy there as well. Most recently we used their boarding for our dogs while we were away on vacation.

I highly recommend making the switch to Cascade Hospital for Animals if you are in search of a vet. Their entire team is fantastic, the hours of operation, emergency services to routine care and everything else they offer has been the best I have found in town. I'm a big fan and I constantly tell my friends and family about how great they are.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my now almost two year old dog here since she was eight weeks old. From the beginning, they have gone above and beyond with her care. I have never been dissatisfied with anyone here, from the client care associates to the doctors themselves. Many of them remember my dog by name, despite not seeing her for months at a time, which really shows how much they care. The facility itself is very clean and well kept, and their extended hours make it easy for me to schedule appointments around my inflexible schedule. It really speaks volumes when say that my dog gets excited to go to the veterinarian.

This is not our home base vet as it's a bit further away from our house, but my dog needed to have entropion surgery and I was quoted and extremely high amount somewhere else. When we came here everyone was very welcoming and very kind. They were very honest with the risks of the surgery that needed to be done, they felt confident. Dr Clayton did a wonderful job on my dog Mack's eye surgery. I am so grateful for the work he has done, and just the quality of life Mack is now able to have from this surgery. Also very affordable! Was just an great experience all around! Thank you so much we are so happy!

Experiencia positiva: Every time I go in I see a different doctor and assistant. I'll ask what happened and they'll say they are no longer with them. Dr.Vito was a great help and then I come back and he's gone. Seems like cascade has an issue with turnover and I like consistency with my pets primary doctor, technician and staff in general. It's less stressful for them this way. Unfortunately this is the only clinic I've had this issue with and seems i might need to move on.

Experiencia fantástica: Cascade Hospital for Animals has cared for my 12 year old Golden Retriever Therapy Dog and my 20 mo old Golden Retriever in Therapy Dog Training for the life times of both dogs. Keeping them healthy and up to standard in terms the requirements of Vaccination regimens etc. and treating them for the issues that dogs face as they age has been skillfully handled by CHFA stand and a god--send. The vets and techs can handle any and all of the needs of keeping the dogs healthy. They are wonderful people with caring hearts available 24/7 that bend over backward to care for the our animals and their owners.

Experiencia negativa: My family has been going to this vet since Dr. Siegle Sr practiced. So safe to say over Fifty years of patronage we have paid to them. Not only have the costs sky rocketed, but the service and timeliness have plummeted! The quality of care is sub par, the wait time is insane, and the attitude you get from a vast majority of the employees is out of this world. I have stuck with them as a vet even when living hours away, this was a mistake on my part. Needless to say after my most recent interaction, that resulted in no help whatsoever myself and my family will no longer be going to this animal hospital. We truly miss the actual care that was once provided here. It is now just a money maker, they will order unnecessary tests and care for the animals that jack your bill through the roof! Thank you to the Siegle family who once truly cared for our furry family members!

We were blown away by the care she received from Dr. Vito and the staff at this location! The entire staff made sure Auri was at ease through the appointment, and strived to make her first visit a positive experience for her. They were very knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome. We are so happy we chose to bring our dog to this office!

Experiencia fantástica: We've been going to Cascade for a little over a year and had several vets that were passable but we were looking for another clinic as the experiences weren't what we wanted for our two dogs. We decided we would finish up the last round of our new puppy's shots and randomly got Dr. Nicholas Vito as our vet. He TOTALLY changed our minds and exceeded our expectations. He was personable, friendly, good with both dogs, and respected our decisions regarding our dogs health. Not sure about all the other vets, but if you are planning to go to Cascade or have been going and are not that happy, try requesting Dr. Vito and you won't regret it.

Experiencia fantástica: We took our pup to Cascade Hospital for Animals for physical therapy and wow were we impressed! The physical therapy nurse, Emily, did an amazing job with our Sage. He was excited to go out every week and she was sure to take it at his pace rather than pushing him to an uncomfortable level. I would highly recommend Cascade Hospital for Animals, Dr. Paploeski, and nurse Emily any day!

Experiencia negativa: I have been a long time customer of Cascade Hospital for Animal. Since moving to Grand Rapids 26 years ago, over that period this practice has treated our 3 labs. Our loyalty to CHFA is just might be coming to an end. When we first started going there it was a relatively small veterinarian practice and Dr. Siegel was the vet who treated our first lab. Since that time, this practice has turned into a big business. It now has two offices and a huge staff. As you can imagine, along with this growth has come higher prices for the same, or in some cases, a lower level of service. Our current lab is a little over 7 years old. Today she was at CHFA for her annual wellness exam and shots update. The whole exam took less than 30 minutes. When the time came to pay the bill I was shocked to hear that the cost for today's visit was a little over $350. Last year the same exam, including all the same shots, cost $170! When I questioned the technician why the cost doubled in a years time she told me that our 7 year old lab is now considered a "senior" and as a senior there is more lab work done. It is hard for me to believed that any amount of additional lab work for a 7 year old dog will cost an additional $180! Now I will say that the vet and the technician we saw today we great, very thorough. But, over the years, just about every vet and technician we saw was thorough. It would have been naive of me to think that the today's visit would have been the same cost as last years. Thanks to covid nothing costs the same as it did last year. But today's visit was a shock. Got some thinking to do!

Experiencia negativa: If I could offer a lower score I would, the bedside manner was cold and dismissive. As a pet parent I not only want to be confident in the care my animal receives, which I absolutely was not, but I also expect that someone who attended medical school also has at the very least adequate social skills and after meeting several of the vets and techs it is abundantly clear these are skills very few individuals within their offices possess. I will be switching vets immediately and spreading the word that this place is highly unprofessional and unskilled in treating animals. While I would pay any price for my animal to remain healthy, I will not pay for my pet's diagnosis to be missed and then charged more after advocating that the vet does their job! 0/10, save your pet and your sanity and go literally anywhere else!!

Experiencia negativa: EDIT - I did love this place. We took our parrots here. Dr. Ritzman is a great bird vet. She and the staff understood that when birds get sick it is best not to wait and always do their best to get you in. I still love Dr Ritzman - I am unhappy with Cascade Hospital for Animals for deciding not to support avian care going further since she was the only avian certified vet in this whole side of the state. I had to travel 40 minutes to get there but it was better than 3+ hours. If I had lived closer, for convenience sake I would have taken my cats and dog there as well...but my fur critters don't do well in car rides. It is clear that the number one concern is making the maximum profit at this clinic, not the customers or their pets. If they cared they would still support this portion of the business even if they did not make as much profit with it (look I am not asking people to operate in the negative). I get it, its how capitalism is today, have to MAXIMIZE the profit, profit itself while serving a minority of the population is not good enough. However, don't claim to actually care, if you don't care that avian pets now can't get the quality of care they deserve from a certified avian vet because you decided not to treat them because you could make more money doing other things.

Experiencia fantástica: We initially switched to Cascade Hospital for Animals because our former vet refused to see our dog for a same day emergency appointment even though we were long time clients and it was early morning and referred us to one of the local animal emergency centers. Switching to Cascade has been nothing short of wonderful. They are open until 7 four days a week. They also have weekend appointments which is wonderful and has helped prevent the need to go to an animal emergency veterinarian. We've always been able to schedule a same day appointment if there is an urgent matter. We get yearly dentals for our dogs and find the price to be reasonable. They don't push treatment or things if we don't feel comfortable. They treat our animals with the best care. We really like all of the veterinarians we've seen. They are so kind and caring. They are all our favorites, it is too hard to decide on just one (Dr. Abel, Dr. Denison, Dr. Malik and Dr. Fuller). The rest of the staff is also just as wonderful. We live in Rockford but it is worth the drive to take our dogs to get such wonderful attention and care.

BUT, I will take the time to say that going to Cascade Vet in my busy schedule was well worth it. Not only did they answer right away, as soon as I got to the location, they greeted me inside, called me right away asking about my pet and called me again while I was waiting in my car to go over what my pet needed. Not only will I be returning, I will be referring anyone looking for a vet to Cascade Hospital for Animals. Thank you for caring and being able to answer my questions even if they seemed silly!

The expertise and compassion of the veterinarians and courtesy and comforting presence of all of the staff been consistent throughout. They have helped us through the excitement and joy of a new family member, the rehabilitation of our beloved rescues, and the inevitable heartbreaking loss of letting go of a dear companion. Their services are comprehensive. State-of-the-art veterinary care, guidance in preventative care, rehabilitation, skilled and patient grooming and boarding services are just some of the services we love. I never hesitate to recommend CHFA and BVAC for those who want the best for their pets.

We really appreciate the compassionate care our pets receive. On our last visit, Dr. Rasche called us after hours to let us know Buster's test results to save us from worrying until the next day. All of the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. We also appreciated the creativity and careful planning that went into their COVID precautions, and feel we've been able to maintain our pets' health without risking our own throughout the pandemic. Highly recommend!

From the initial appointment to the surgery to fix, they have been beyond helpful, extremely open to questions, and very friendly. They do their best with COVID being a thing.
