Experiencia positiva: I was so impressed with Dr. Conflitti at Blue Pearl. Kind, patient, compassionate, and gave me hope for my cat that I had lost. What she prescribed greatly improved her quality of life for several more weeks. Overall, the staff here was pretty exceptional. From the front desk to the doctors, it is clear they care very much about taking care of their patients. The facility looks brand new, and I felt we were very well taken care of for the most part. The downsides are on the business/corporate end of things rather than the care my cat received. There are several reminders that you are dealing with a for profit business. There's a 2% charge on all credit card fees. I've encountered this before only at small businesses, who cannot keep up with the card machine fees -- not at a major vet hospital receiving hundreds to thousands of dollars from people and animals in distress. A bottle of water in the vending machine is $5. The cost of one of the meds prescribed for my cat was $70. The exact same drug on Chewy is $15 -- for name brand, when I received a generic for $70. That is an absolutely insane price difference. I learned that Blue Pearl has several locations throughout the US. So no doubt that the price gouging is due to corporate policies, and not the hardworking compassionate people working there. While I can't say enough good things about most of the staff I encountered, it was really disheartening to feel in a time of both emotional and financial stress that I was being squeezed for every penny. Blue Pearl as a business needs to do better and recognize that their reputation is being held up solely by the caring people they employ, not their business practices.

Experiencia fantástica: As a veterinarian, I hate whenever I have to use Blue Pearl because it means one of my fur babies has a very serious condition that I can’t take care of myself. Having said that, I am so very glad they are here. Their staff is always so very caring and their knowledge and expertise is beyond compare. Experiencia fantástica: We’ve always had an excellent experience with Blue Pearl specialty in Grand Rapids. One of our dogs has had two ACL repair surgeries there already, and our other dog is about to have the same. One of our dogs is extremely fearful and reactive with strangers and other dogs. It’s difficult for him to go to the vet in general, but certainly more difficult to be handled and managed for surgical cases. He had a mast cell tumor removal in 2024 with the team at Blue Pearl and they were so patient and kind to us and our dog. They understand that our dog has unique needs and they made sure to work with us to achieve the best possible outcome for him. Recently our dog was in for his pre-surgical consult for his ACL injury and the team took extra care to ensure this visit was as positive as possible for our dog. We felt like they really listened to us and trusted that we know what works best for him in terms of handling and plans for post-surgical care. Our other dog is 2 years post-op with both of her ACL repairs and she loves her bionic knees! Dr. Conkling and team do such a great job. Will always trust Blue Pearl with our specialty and surgical needs!

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve had 2 experiences with Blue Pearl. Our first was tragic. Our Aussie Atlas had sustained horrific trauma. With compassion, the staff gave it to us straight and we made the heartbreaking decision. Our second was when our boy Dee was thought to have ruptured his right ACL. Upon examination, Dr. Hennig determined surgery was not necessary. We were beyond grateful! We just had our follow up appointment and were so grateful for the knowledgeable and helpful staff. I highly recommend Blue Pearl. The BEST!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough incredible things about this pet hospital and the team who saved my dog’s life. I had to drive three hours to Grand Rapids because there wasn’t anywhere near me that could perform an MRI. My German Shepherd suddenly lost feeling from her back down to her legs due to a ruptured disc, and she needed surgery immediately upon arrival. As any pet parent knows, your dog isn’t “just a dog” — she’s your best friend, your baby. It’s terrifying to put that kind of trust in someone else. But from the moment I walked through the doors, I saw the skill, teamwork, communication, and compassion this staff has for animals. That’s what allowed me to trust the process. And because of that trust, so much goodness came out of such a scary situation. I especially want to recommend Dr. Stromberg to anyone and everyone. I will forever trust him with any emergency. I have so much respect for him. He was completely transparent from the moment I stepped into the hospital until long after I left. Even after I went home and my dog had to stay, he personally called me every morning with updates and even sent pictures of how she was doing. He walked me through every step of physical therapy so I felt confident bringing her home. They truly have the skill, technology, and heart to create successful outcomes. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you all again for saving my best friend. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Experiencia negativa: This was my first experience with Pearl Blue Pet Hospital for our 8 year old Aussie. The quality of your Ophthalmology evaluation process was poor and very disappointing. A series of three test were performed a this clinic. The same 3 test were also performed by our veterinarian earlier. We had expectations of a higher level of testing outside our veterinary clinic. We only met with the Ophthalmologist after these tests were performed. The meeting lasted about 10 minutes . The brief meeting provided no explanation of the origin/ cause of the presenting issue , a lack of communication and compassion. An Ophthalmology Visit Summary was provided to us by the technician as we were leaving. This summary prompted additional concerns , lack of explanation and more questions. It would have been more advantageous to have been provided this summary during our meeting with the Ophthalmologist . My impression of the ophthalmology evaluation process was like a short "business transaction" not an evaluation of our dog! I will be discussing my experience with my veterinarian regarding this referral and exploring another referral.

Experiencia negativa: Find a better vet. Use them as your last resort. They do not care about your animal. They recommended putting my pet down instead of helping. Tried to double charge me for the office visit of $236. The female doctor that works in the morning specifically comes in at 7 am is awful absolutely horrible. Do not trust your pet with her. Shes doesn't care if your pet is fighting for their life, she only cares about the money.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 5 year old lab in presenting with eye problems and a swollen toe, after seeing our local vet multiple times. The staff was incredibly efficient, genuinely kind to both me and my dog, and impressively quick without ever feeling rushed. We were seen for both issues by ophthalmology and orthopedics at the same time. Their profession and compassion truly set them apart. I couldn’t recommend a more caring or capable clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: Our Frenchie pup had to have surgery on his broken leg joint and I thought I was going to lose it. But once we came to Blue Pearl and they sat us down and explained everything I felt so much better! Everything went smoothly from there and he is now home recovering like a champ. Experiencia negativa: We spent $1000 and got no answer I understand high prices for hospital quality care. But sending us out the door with no answer was absurd. We went to Southkent gor a second opion. They answered all questions and gave us peace of mind. Overall not worth it unless its end of life treatment. They are awesome in that respect

Experiencia fantástica: My dachshund Bud was admitted last Tuesday evening for a back injury and paralysis of his back legs and bladder. When he arrived he was immediately assessed, cared for overnight, then operated on the next day. Every step of the way I received timely, direct, honest and compassionate communication.... including prognosis and costs. The neurosurgeon, Dr. Stromberg, called me each morning and evening (like clockwork) during the next three days and then met with me Saturday morning when I picked Bud up. I was coached on how to care for him, and was told that I would be getting a 3,000 refund (Bud came in under budget). Needless to say I was elated. During the past week, Bud has gotten stronger everyday and is recovering beautifully. He has great bladder control, good strength and good coordination. My experience was 5+, great staff, great doctor, couldn't be more happy!

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog in with concerns of BLOAT, but after testing and diagnostics, the amazing staff at Blue Pearl discovered a large cancerous mass in my dog’s liver. Thanks to Dr. Conkling, a surgeon at BP that we have used in the past, the mass was removed without complications. My senior dog is recovering and will be with us a while longer because of the exceptional care at this hospital!

Experiencia fantástica: Our kitty ate a human pill trying to use up her 9 lives, but in the end she only used up 2. Everyone we encountered at the GR Blue pearl was compassionate and efficient in their care with us as well as our Tigress.They even worked within our financial limitations, which is greatly appreciated. Nobody budgets for a pet emergency, but when it happens you'll wish you did. We are so relieved to have her home again, thank you.

Don’t bring your pets here unless you want never ending calls and money scammed out of you! 4 years later and they’re still trying to contact me over a balance that was paid and never returned to the account it was taken from!

Experiencia fantástica: Geoffrey Hennig and his staff is the best. They took great care of my pup when she broke her back leg and needed surgery. Whenever I called to check on my pup they took the time to talk to me and they even sent me pictures. I am a hour to a hour and half way from blue pearl and would take my pup back without a hesitation if she need to go. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, always ready to answer questions or help me find the right words when I couldn’t. Even when I was emotional and needed a moment to make financial arrangements, they were patient and respectful. Overall, I want to thank the entire Blue Pearl team for such great care of my pup. She’s doing great now, and is back to being her happy, puppy dog self.

Experiencia fantástica: I will first say we are so blessed to have a wonderful hospital like Blue Pearl not too far from us with a caring doctor and staff in all aspects. When we arrived at Blue Pearl hospital, we were afraid of what we were going to hear and quite emotional. The staff treated us, so kindly and gently. We did not have to wait long before we were in a room and met with a nurse. After they examine our little Murphy, they recommended to be able to tell exactly what was going on they needed to do an MRI. And then possibly emergency surgery right after the MRI. They sat down with us and explain to us the cost payment options so well aware which was much appreciated. And of course we said please proceed he’s our baby. They said it would take about 2 hours & that’s exactly pretty close to how it was. After reviewing that MRI Dr Diehl recommendation was decided that Murphy would have to have surgery. There was only an 80% chance of him being normal even after surgery. And also explained it would be a long recovery. We were definitely willing to take that chance. During the surgery, they even came out and checked and gave us an update. The surgery was about 2 1/2 hours long. We met with the doctor in a private room afterwards, and he explained what he had to do one of the discs and was quite hopeful, but it was going to be a long road. Four weeks before the next visit and then another 4 weeks of continued care of course at home. A few days later, Murphy, was able to come home with us. We were so excited to see him, hold him and hug him gently. At that point the work on our end began to help him gain strength and muscle back. They explained every step in detail of what we would have to do and how to go about it. During the time our little dog was in the hospital after surgery they called us at least once or twice a day to give us an update. Jen one of the wonderful nurses even sent me pictures of him. They all just loved him, but then who wouldn’t. Dr. Diehl was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend him to anyone. His compassion, his soft manner and the detailed explanation of everything that was going to happen and would have to happen afterwards was all said with a but please understand this has to be done. I don’t think I’ve ever met a doctor quite like him. We really respected him, his ability and knowledge. I will tell you all I did go another place first because I didn’t know about Blue Pearl. I will tell you now this will be my first choice! We cannot thank the staff, the nurses, and of course, Dr. Diehl for their caring kindness.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Hennig and the entire staff have been exceptional in treating my dogs infected hygroma. It's not cheap by any means, but the service saves pets lives that would otherwise not make it. I can't put a price on that. A tip from extensive personal experience, if you can get in Tuesday through Friday, you will get direct contact with a surgeon and potentially save yourself some time and money. If it can't wait, just go, they will take care of you! Experiencia fantástica: So grateful this service exists in Grand Rapids. It is expensive but high quality. It feels up to par with a human hospital. The staff are all very attentive, knowledgeable and empathetic. When my beloved cat beanie was sick, I took him in at 10pm on a Sunday night. The staff were quick to examine him and come up with a treatment plan. They recommended keeping him overnight due to high fever. Their treatments worked as he started recovering while on IV and antibiotics. The doctor even called me at 2am and let me know how he was doing. I’m so grateful that this clinic is in town for emergencies like this, and would go here again if the need arises.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a wonderful experience at this emergency vet clinic. They took such great care of my uncle’s dog, Maylie, who was dealing with a UTI. She’s an older, very nervous girl and needed some extra TLC, and that’s exactly what she got. The staff was incredibly kind and patient, which made a stressful situation so much easier for all of us. A special thank you to Dr. W for being so attentive and compassionate. Maylie is already feeling better, and we’re so grateful for the care she received.

Experiencia fantástica: Every person that has cared for my girl has been kind. She had a sudden neurological issue that required surgery and a 4 day stay. Her neurosurgeon, Dr. Stromberg called me personally every day to give an update and over the weekend when his colleague was there, I got update calls as well. He was very thorough and compassionate the whole time. I thought I was going to lose her, but they saved her!

Experiencia fantástica: We took our 9 week old Golden retriever in after he had chewed and swallowed a twig, and then seemed to have a small amount of distress, like maybe it was mostly swallowed but not quite (I wasn't able to get the twig from him before swallowing.) I wasn't sure what to do as it wasn't continuous distress, but after 90 minutes of this on and off we took him in. By the time we arrived he seemed fine of course! They looked him over and said if he did swallow it (which I know he did) it was fully swallowed by the time I got him there, and he had a small cut on the roof of his mouth. They offered to do a full work up but felt it unnecessary. We decided to not do that and he has been fine since then. They did not charge us for the visit. We were very surprised by that!

Experiencia negativa: After hearing back from Blue Pearl on 2 occasions, They openly admitted that they were in the wrong. I purposely did not write a review until after I heard back from them. Here goes.: 1. My very ill dog waited two weeks to see an oncologist, as Blue Pearl scheduling said it was the soonest they could get her in to see this specialist. 2. Our appointment was confirmed a few days prior to our appointment date both verbally and through a text. 3. Upon arrival, they had no appointment scheduled and stated that we must have had a different veterinarian office, confirming the appointment and it was not their fault, and it was not their text number that was sent to my phone. 4. We waited in the wait area for approximately 45 minutes until Blue Pearl realized it was THEIR error in the scheduling and it also was THEIR third party that in fact texted me….They took their time trying to disprove their error while my best friend profusely bled from her mouth. 5. As the oncologist had appointments already set up that day, we were unable to see the oncologist, but they did have a general vet available in another half hour or so wait. 6. We waited….. 7. The general vet suggested a head to tail scan…. 8. I felt it was the least I could do for my best friend. 9. 4-5 days later, I still did not have the results. 10. Finally, I called Blue Pearl to get the results. 11. 4 days later, my best friend passed. 12. Final charge from Blue Pearl: $3392.68 13. I don’t know how these people live with themselves.

In my opinion, Blue Pearl specializes in emotionally selling their goods and services while the Patient/ Patient Owner is under extreme duress. Once again, beware of Blue Pearl! I will also note that I did not receive any condolences of my dog passing. And had to reach out to them.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was in for an orthopedic surgery consultation. I was really interested in the discussion we would have about the procedure and what rehab would be like for her. Immediately I was impressed with the facility and its fast flawless check in process. The staff was confident and friendly. Dr Hennig reviewed her X-ray with me and saw something suspicious. After an ultrasound to confirm those suspicions unfortunately a large mass was found in her chest. Not good news. He answered all of my questions. Shared different alternatives and choices. I had to make a difficult decision. Dr Hennigs demeanor, his compassion helped me to be able to quietly and clearly think through those options. I didn’t feel hurried and I felt heard. The news was awful but the care was great. There’s alot of 4 legged love in the waiting room. There’s a clinic full of professionals oozing with compassion.

Experiencia fantástica: Got us in quickly and had the right equipment. Very compassionate and amazing staff. Took care of our 17 year old Australian cattle dog for vestibular disease. Brought a gurney out to the parking lot to help get him in easier. Highly recommend this place if you need your fur baby seen for an emergency. Thank you! Second time we used blue Pearl for emergency: Had to bring another one of our dogs in for an emergency due to difficulty breathing in the middle of the night on Thanksgiving. She was in heart failure due to a torn chordae tendineae. She was hospitalized for about 2 days and they were absolutely amazing, compassionate, took the time to discuss everything with me and give me updates over the phone. All the staff there that we dealt with was outstanding. The nurse sent pictures of our fur baby for updates, which was very much appreciated and helped ease the stress of having to leave her there, as she had to stay in an oxygen tank and we had to go back home which is almost 2 hours away. Highly recommend for emergency care if needed. Thank you again for the outstanding care you all provide!

I have used another location in GR previously, and I can say that my experience here was vastly different, in a good way. The staff were personable and did not try to push any specific option onto us. They took great care of our Bandit, gave clear instructions at discharge, and he has since recovered from eating chocolate.

IMO it's all about the dollars. Not the true care of the animal. You need to do better.

Experiencia negativa: While, they initially seemed pleasant to work with their receptionist was overly condescending. We brought our pet in after she swallowed about 5 feet of yarn and then had to wait several hours for them to send anyone to check on us. Waiting several hours is fine as they are a triage emergency facility, not having someone available to give us updates on how long it will take and giving us attitude and overly sweetly and condescendingly asking us if we ‘know what an emergency room is’, when all we asked was for an update on how long it will take, was the bigger issue. From all indications from the reading, I did, swallowing that much yarn was something that needed to be dealt with before it got into the intestines. That seemed pretty urgent to Us, so we felt it was more than fair to ask when we were going to be seen to induce vomiting in our cat. They also charge more than twice what our vet will charge for the same services. I understand this is because there are a limited option after hours, that’s still more than it should be.

Experiencia positiva: Our dog got into our son’s medication and chewed up 3-4 pills. Our quick Google search was alarming. We called BluePearl who told us to come in and call the ASPCA Pet Poison hotline simultaneously to get specific directions based on the medications ingested. When we got there, they took our dog to the back to induce vomiting while we were still on hold with the Pet Poison hotline. By the time we got through on the phone and we were informed it wasn’t too serious and to expect our dog to have an upset stomach, we had already racked up a $500+ fee for the induction procedure. (In addition to the $100+ fee for the phone call.) I’m very relieved our dog is fine. I appreciate that everyone took the situation seriously, but, with the benefit of hindsight, I do believe Blue Pearl could have offered a little more thoughtful consideration of the situation and saved us hundreds of dollars. It’s hard not to feel like we weren’t taken a little advantage of in a stressful situation.

Experiencia fantástica: It’s really hard to find the words to explain how amazing the staff here is. I had a bad experience with another hospital, so I called this one, and I’m so thankful I did. Olivia was so welcoming, so understanding, and so knowledgeable when I called. I unfortunately can’t remember the names of the two women that helped me when I arrived with my dog, but they made the process as easy for me as possible. Unfortunately things did not work in our favor and my beautiful Lenny Girl grew her wings, but I find comfort in knowing she was surrounded by professionals that truly cared about her and were so gentle and loving with her from the moment she walked in to her very last moments with us. Those women were a gift from God, and I can’t thank them enough for being so gentle with my girl and I through this difficult time.

Experiencia positiva: The service my 4 year old cat received here was amazing. A special shout out to Anna for keeping us well updated and taking such good care of our girl. She made the anxiety of having our girl sick for the first time a little bit better. She went above and beyond with the discharge instructions as well. Dr. Kim and Dr. Branch also did an amazing job. However, the debt from our two-day stay was astounding. Never experiencing emergency services for our pets before, I had no idea how quickly things could add up. Service wise, BluePearl was excellent, but it’s going to take me years to recover from the vet bill. I will definitely be investing in pet insurance. That being said, I would still recommend BluePearl to anyone needing emergency care for their babies, but be prepared to spend your life savings.

They communicated frequently and at the precise times they said they would. They took phenomenal care of our boxer. He is home now. He loved them so much he looked torn when we went to pick him up. He wasnt sure if he should go with us or with Lauren, the technician who cared for him. I would not hesitate to recommend Blue Pearl to anyone with a pet who is sick or hurt. Experiencia negativa: DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! OVER PRICED!!! We brought our 9 year old lab into the ER for stomach issues. We waited in the exam room for 15 min before the vet came to see us. When the vet came in she talked to us about what was going on with him and felt his stomach. After she left the vet tech came in and gave us a bill for OVER $1300 for treatment!!! They wanted him to get 3 different xrays, blood and urine tests. We tried both of their payment options but both my fiancée and I were denied. Because we couldn't afford treatment we asked to leave. They charged us $236 just to LEAVE!! THE VET DIDNT EVEN TREAT HIM. $236 JUST BECAUSE WE WALKED IN THE DOOR. We will never again be coming back here. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Charging concerned pet parents $236 because they couldnt get the full $1300 out of us. Ridiculous.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Swanson has been incredible with helping me navigate Tucker’s neuroendocrine carcinoma diagnosis. She is an expert at keeping expectations realistic while remaining compassionate in an obviously heartbreaking circumstance for me and my family. Tucker and I are so thankful to have her be a part of his treatment team. The wait times during appointments can be long - keep in mind there are only a handful of veterinary oncologists in Michigan. Blue Pearl is the only option for these specialty services in west Michigan so we understand the busy days to accommodate all animals in need. The staff at Blue Pearl does everything they can to keep us comfortable during appointments, and I have never felt like a number or that my appointment is rushed.

Experiencia fantástica: I drove over an hour and a half on a recommendation of my primary vet. I was so impressed with the staff and care my pup got here for specialty diagnostics. It was worth it. They were fantastic with her. Everyone was super respectful of my requests and were amazing with communication. The diagnostic results were explained very well with options going forward. All of my questions were answered thoroughly. They were up front with all pricing, pros, and cons of each possibility. I will be recommending them to anyone who requires a specialized internist or ER for their dogs! In fact, I will be changing emergency vets, when time for travel is available.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough good things about Blue Pearl emergency in Grand Rapids. I walked in and the receptionist (I wish I knew her name she was awesome) recognized right away that my dog, Penny, was tanking. She immediately called for someone to come get her. Penny was admitted for 4 days related to heart failure. I wish I had all the names but in particular Dr Williams and Dr Sharpe were the best of the best. Between the work of everyone there, Penny rallied and was able to come off oxygen and come home. I got phonecalls giving me updates and was welcomed in to visit and spend as much time as I wanted. Everyone I met was so kind and caring and I felt Penny got excellent care. I'm so glad we've got such an excellent facility

Experiencia positiva: The specialty doctor's here are great. Very knowledgeable, helpful, nice, but very expensive. I'm not sure about their emergency services as I've never used them. The facility is very nice, it's brand new. The employees are incredibly nice.

Experiencia negativa: I would not allow these people to touch my ex-husband, much less my dog. Absolutely terrible bedside manner by completely juvenile staff who seemed to take pleasure in the fact that I myself, being terribly ill and just trying to get help for my dog, was asking for information about wait times. “Well she isn’t critical is she?” Staff says condescendingly. “It could be HOURS”. (Said gleefully) and said without the slightest nod to the fact that I was trying to find out only because I myself was also very ill with a fever and wheezing which was audible. I will never return here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: 10/10 recommend, both Dr Conkling (double cruciate ligament surgery) and Dr Brand (emergency services for severe GI distress)! As a customer with an invisible disability, I found their understand and reflection of trauma informed care impeccable and this is not always my experience with healthcare (vet and human medicine, alike). The way my mental functions, as a result of a traumatic brain injury, can leave my communication lengthy, fragmented, and/or rapid, especially under notably stressful circumstances. This has proven difficult for others, at times. Both of these exceptional individuals displayed great patience in following my communication style and answering all of my questions. From the front to the back of the facility, loving care was provided to our sweet girl! Our family appreciates the dedication to top notch care and we are further grateful for the flexibility that ensured this lovely dogs restoration! Juni is back to enjoying the zoomies and a stable gut system, alongside my pack!

Experiencia negativa: Review for BluePearl Pet Hospital – Grand Rapids, MI I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience in hopes it helps other pet owners. On the morning of November 10, 2025, my 12-year-old senior Goldendoodle, Rocco, fell down the stairs and broke a nail, causing moderate bleeding. Since his regular vet wasn’t open yet, I brought him to BluePearl Pet Hospital on East Beltline, hoping for compassionate care in an urgent moment. We were seen by a vet I believe was named Chelsea. She briefly examined his paw and confirmed it wasn’t broken—just a damaged nail that needed to be removed. I was shocked when I was quoted $803 for the procedure, which included sedation, to remove a nail that was already 90% detached. That felt unreasonable, so I declined and said I’d take him to his regular vet. What truly upset me wasn’t the high price—it was the lack of basic care. We were charged $236 for a 15-minute visit, and when we left, my dog’s paw hadn’t even been cleaned or bandaged. He still had a visibly loose nail and fresh blood. That moment made it painfully clear: this hospital prioritizes billing over the bare minimum of humane treatment. A few hours later, I took Rocco to his regular vet, who was shocked and upset that his paw hadn’t been cleaned or bandaged. She called it, quote, “outrageous.” I understand that emergency care can be expensive, and I was prepared for that. But I expected at least a clean paw and a bandage for my injured dog. I left feeling disappointed, disheartened, and deeply concerned about the values driving this facility.

Experiencia negativa: After waiting for over half an hour I started reading bad reviews about this place and I decided to take my dog and leave this place. I came there this Sunday for an emergency vomiting and diarrhea, they made us wait in a room and totally forgot about us. My pup got bored and was walking around the room and seemed like she appears to be better and will wait and take her to our clinic tomorrow. Emergency supposed to mean emergency, not don’t get back to us for over an hour. We already made home and they probably still forgot about us.

Experiencia negativa: While I'm immensely appreciative for the work done by the staff at this hospital, it's the pricing of their services that rubbed me the wrong way. My male cat had a partial urinary obstruction, one that they recommended he stay for 24-48 hours where he would be given a catheter, an IV, along with additional medication that would be around $4000-$5000. Unable to afford this, I was sent home with some medicine that may have helped him pass the obstruction naturally. A day later I took my cat to a different animal hospital; not only was the cost of the examination much cheaper, but even the predicted cost for a hospital stay was half the price of BluePearl. I'm putting this review here as a warning to any concerned pet owners, to do a little more searching around if cost is a potential issue.

Experiencia negativa: I don’t often write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Blue Pearl so that others don’t have to go through what I did. Blue Pearl was a referral from my local vet. My dog’s abdomen had become swollen, though he had no other major symptoms. My vet drained some fluid, ran several tests, and suggested that we see a specialist. They warned me that Blue Pearl was expensive but said that most of the basic testing had already been done, which should help keep the costs down. When we arrived at Blue Pearl, it seemed that they repeated many of the same tests my vet had already performed—this time with a $2,000 price tag. They couldn’t determine exactly what was wrong, but they prescribed diuretics and told us to monitor him while he took the medication. Soon after starting the medication, his condition worsened dramatically. His breathing became labored, and he appeared to be in pain. I called to request a follow-up visit to see if he was reacting poorly to the medication. They said it would cost another $150–$200, which we agreed to. When I went to pick him up later that day, they told me the doctor would discuss the results when I arrived. I waited in the lobby for three hours before finally being seen. The doctor told me they still didn’t know what was wrong, but insisted it wasn’t the medication. We left with another $450 bill. That night, our dog died. The next day, our other dog—who may have gotten into food containing traces of the same medication—also passed away. I feel like this hospital killed my dogs. They showed no accountability, no sympathy, and offered no real answers. Yes, the building is modern, clean, and state-of-the-art—but please, beware before bringing your pet here. I will never trust this place again.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently had to bring my old man, Uncle Gunner, in for an emergency about a week ago. He stayed in the facility for just under 30 hours, and the care he received was incredible. The entire staff was patient, compassionate, and understanding. They kept me updated on how he was doing, even sharing little notes about his personality while he was there, which meant so much to me. In such stressful moments, when you’re unsure if your dog will pull through, it’s a huge comfort to hear that he’s being “silly” and acting like his usual mischievous self. As him and I walked to our car after pickup, a group of staff members in the parking lot congratulated Uncle Gunner and cheered him on. That small moment said so much about the love and empathy they have for their patients and their families. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, always ready to answer questions or help me find the right words when I couldn’t. Even when I was emotional and needed a moment to make financial arrangements, they were patient and respectful. Overall, I want to thank the entire Blue Pearl team for saving Uncle Gunner’s life.
