Experiencia fantástica: We had been searching for a veterinarian who would provide high quality and non-biased care, specifically for reproductive services and French Bulldogs. We’ve run into so many bad scenarios and finally feel like we’ve found the right place. We even travel a little over an hour one way, because our pets are our family and there is no replacement for superior care! Not to mention, the prices are equal to or less than that of our local vets. Doctors and technicians are always friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and most of all compassionate!

Experiencia fantástica: Family friends vet has always been my go to where my pets feel taken care of thoroughly, without extra charges made without talking to me first. Like the vet always asks me if certain expenses are ok, which is very helpful for me who cant always afford crazy vet bills or needs to know ahead of time at least. Plus they've always worked with me to figure out my cat's chronic health issues, which have since significantly improved! Dr Mitch Zachos is amazing ✨️ Thank you!

I didn’t have a long wait long either. The clinic is clean and inviting for all pets with a separate entrance for urgent care. I am moving all my kitties to them this year! Highly highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: I used to really love this office,but it seems like the quality of customer service has really gone downhill. I'm currently dealing with an acute illness with my dog and I'm getting a lot of different answers. Different people answering the phone and unavailability to talk to the actual doctor. I am beyond frustrated and will be transferring out of this clinic as soon as possible.

Experiencia negativa: We saw Dr. Chase on November 22, and he diagnosed our bulldog, who was struggling to breathe, with pneumonia and aspiration. He prescribed medication and sent him home, but never offered hospitalization. The following Monday, we received a text message suggesting we consider his quality of life. Sadly, our dog passed away on Thanksgiving Day. Another veterinarian at the practice later acknowledged that the situation was handled very poorly, yet no one has returned my calls after I requested to speak with a manager. After five years as a client with two bulldogs and four cats, we can no longer recommend this practice. It no longer feels focused on care and compassion for animals, but instead on money. The sense of family and trust that once existed here is gone.

I have a senior kitty who has been fairly healthy up until this last year with some age-related health issues started popping up (arthritis, UTIs, etc) at the worst times: rents due, holiday weekend, ice storm. The urgent care team has been amazing to work with each time, with easy scheduling and compassionate care. My cat is a feisty little calico and they take her 'tude in stride! The prices are super fair for being urgent care too. I was referred to them by my friends whose cat's life was saved by their team when he had a blocked urethra. After hearing how well they treated them, I knew that was the place for me to take my ol' girl. They also provided amazing end of life care for my best friend's senior kitty when she had cancer and multiple strokes. My chosen family and I feel so comforted knowing that our fur babies have a safe place to go to. Thank you so much, FFVH, for all that you've done. I can't wait to bring Miki here for a regular visit! ❤️

My pets have gotten everything from routine visits to ACL surgery to spays/neuters. Dr. Ryan truly loves the animals he’s working with, and we love him too!

They never try to "sell" me on unnecessary exams or products. Their extended hours are very helpful as well. One time I had to use their emergency services, and that was truly a lifesaver.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I bring our Cockapoo, Winston, to family friends. He is six now, and has been perfectly healthy under the care of family friends so far! He has weighed 25.2 lbs exactly for 3 years in a row on the kibble they recommended. (You’ll have to go to family friends to find out what one it is). He goes for his first dental cleaning tomorrow under sedation and I know he loves family friends because he gets excited to go inside which is abnormal for him. Anyways, we love family friends and Winston loves Dr. Cooper too

There is no FAMILY or FRIENDS in this clinic any more.

He performed Max’s surgery, kept us informed every step of the way, and always made sure we understood what was needed for a safe recovery. He even helped prepare us for our trip to Canada, taking extra time to explain what paperwork and health requirements were necessary. Because of his guidance, we felt calm, confident, and ready — and everything went smoothly no problems at all It’s very clear how much he truly cares about his patients. Max is always happy to see him, and we genuinely trust him with our boy. I would recommend Dr. Chase to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable veterinarian. We’re so thankful for him.

Experiencia fantástica: This past week I had the worst every dog situation. My Fremchie was attacked by a stay dog. Long story short she had to have her eye removed and stitches!!! I was so scared for my girl but everyone at the clinic took such good care of her as if she was their own! I can never repay the staff for the calmness they had which allowed me to not panic. The price was not outrageous and my girl wasn't sitting in a cage waiting to go to surgery. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU To be fair I do need so I have 4 other dogs seen there regularly and they are always fantastic with them all. ❤️

So when I had another one start acting not like himself you didn’t make me feel like I was overreacting when I wanted X-rays done on him and kept calling because I’m paranoid. The doctors clearly care about the animals and they explain everything in detail. The texts and emails are organized and easy to respond to. My favorite reason (and a big indicator of how the employees are treated) is that the receptionists are absolutely amazing! They always have a smile on their faces and I have had great conversations with every single one of them. Customer for life!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been a loyal customer for over 8 years and what attracted me to this vet was Dr. Randy Carpenter and his knowledge of the Bernese Mountain dog breed-I actually still have one of his puppies-8 years and still going strong. I've noticed that over the past few years, around the time that Dr. Randy Carpenter was transitioning to retire and giving the reins to his kids, that there's been a rather noticeable turnover of staff. It did make me worry, but I still recognized and got good pet care from-lately it's been from Dr. Sharpe and Dr. Cooper, and I loved that there's grooming connected to the building-in case anything were to happened or the groomer found anything concerning, they could go get a vet from up front and handle everything right there-like how safe and reassuring is that?! Not only that, but it could be a one stop and done process especially if my dog is in for grooming, they could also get a check up from a vet without me being there sometimes. I'm very heartbroken that grooming will no longer be available. I'll still continue to go to Family & Friends for vet visits. Edit 10/12/25 Been going here for over a decade and I'm still very happy with their services and care towards each of my dogs. Just recently I had a scare in regards to my Newfoundland and when I told my vet they told me to get there ASAP and barely made me wait while they took care of him in the back. They continue to be very upfront with everything they do, including cost. Funny enough it was more of me panicking over it, and my Newfy is completely unfazed by the situation that I unfortunately put him in. All he knew was that he got a joy ride to the vet a few times and a bunch of attention from all the Vet and Techs. Long story short, my Newfy is completely fine now and a lesson is learned on my end-never give any Grapes to you dog. EVER! Still highly recommend Family Friends Vet

Experiencia fantástica: We had a super experience at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital Everyone we met there was friendly, professional and very caring with each of our visits. Our Boston Terrier had stenotic nares surgery to open up her nasal passages. The surgery went great. Our puppy is bouncing back quickly and is now able to breathe and smell things normally. Her activity level and appetite improved as well. We were also pleased that the surgical team was able to keep her nose looking cute. They are really good at what they do!

Prices were much cheaper than the other vet seen the day previous. Hands down, an amazing experience. Cleaned, wrapped and splinted arm until we could get in for surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Zachos is very thoughtful and has a very kindheart. He is amazing! This is the best Veterinary Clinic out of 5 that my dog has been a patient to. I was very impress with the staff and most especially with Dr. Zachos!

Experiencia negativa: I reached out to this place to seek guidance on what to do with my sick cat. I explained that she had recently been seen by another vet and that her condition seemed to be worsening. The woman on the phone had zero empathy and proceeded to act confused as to why I was reaching out to them since I already had a vet (they were closed). Her exact question was “what are you calling us for if you already have a vet?” Then proceeded to say they were booked for the night anyway. Their positive reviews led me to believe this would be a place I could trust or a place I could call for help. Their doctors may be great but whoever they had at their front desk last night should reconsider their job. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, this woman made an already hard time even harder and as a business owner I wouldn’t want someone like her driving business away or handling calls in such a careless way.

Experiencia fantástica: Ive been taking my dogs here for years… -they have always been able to get us in on time. -they are very helpful over the phone. -ive had my dogs with them for multiple surgeries and they always keep us updated, check in on him and make it a hassle free experience. -they send quotes ahead of time and im not sure if im lucky or what but the quotes usually range from low to high and most of the time the bill is less than the quote. -I love this place. The way they do business and how the staff conduct themselves sets a high standard.

Experiencia fantástica: Family Friends was with us all the way with challenging health issues, both of which led to a final euthanization that was earlier than we would have hoped for, but also gave both of our dogs the longest, healthiest life they could have had. In my personal opinion, Dr. Hagen is nothing short of a rock star for us. She met us where we are, crazy dog people fully in love with our dogs and willing and able to try extraordinary measures if it was in the best interest of our dogs. Dr. Hagen also reassured me that it was the right time to euthanize our dog Chaos, whose exceptional temperament masked the serious, soon-to-be agonizing health issues that were just around the corner. There was no getting around the hurt, but Dr. Hagen helped make it Peaceful and Purposeful. I am profoundly grateful for that. After the euthanization, I said: "Here is the plan, we will purchase one of the healthiest breeds from a breeder I know personally, who I think is doing all they can to breed a healthy dog that fits our way of living. There are no guarantees, but I think we will start out with a puppy where the genetic odds are strongly in our favor. You, Debbie (my wife), and I will be a team to continue stacking the odds in favor of this dog living a 14-year healthy life that he or she loves. I think we all deserve that. Dr. Hagen said, "I love the plan, I'm in." For 20 weeks, even prior to conception, my wife and I felt the moment Dr. Hagen met our puppy (Cosmo), was something that we were deeply looking forward too. Dr. Hagen got on the floor and played with our puppy while examining him, and fell in love with him too. She said, "With all we have been through together, I think we are family, so in a way, I think he is mine, too." We couldn't ask for more from a Veterinary Hospital. We could not ask more of a veterinarian. This is why we drive an hour each way to Family Friends. They understand us and what we will do for our dogs. They explain our options, letting us know that they are all viable, and honestly describe the potential outcomes. They helped us choose wisely and helped Elvis avoid euthanization at 14 months and live almost seven more years robustly. They diagnosed a mucus seal on Chaos' gall bladder, and doctor Hagaen called 12 soft tissue surgeons, 10 of whom refused, two of whom accepted, and one of whom performed emergency surgery that gave Chaos two and a half years of life with us that he loved. I feel like we have earned two crazy dog person merit badges together. When it is time, they gently tell us we have done absolutely all we can. It is right in the name. Family Friends. It is so much more than a name. Family Friends is what the entire staff has become to us. Where else would I possibly go? Who else would I possibly want to help us care for the puppy we love? There is no decision to make; there is simply a heart to follow.

They take their time & truly care about every single 1 of them! Our pets, especially our almost 10 year old Daizy loves going to Family Friends, most dogs don't typically enjoy going to the vet but she loves seeing everyone. Truly amazed!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: This Veterinarian Practice is Filled with professional's that think about the Dog and Owner- FIRST- I belive one of the Main ingredient for this is that this Practice is Family Owned. The Vets on staff here are Top Notch and keep up with Veterinarian science- Consistently implementing and learning updated Veterinarian Science, with the Largest Contribution is they have a COMMON SENCE Approach on treatment of ANY procedure or illness. I have worked with and Highly recommend Dr Chase and Dr Sutphen. All of my pets will happily walk into this practice- tail wagging and leave the SAME way! HAPPY!

My first visit to this UC service and will return if I ever need an UC treatment. Hopefully not, but it is clear where I would go. Unlike the "Blue...." (not disclosing the entire ER Animal Hospital name, but you can figure it out), it was true care and NOT care "with an upsell approach". Also fair priced (investment for the care). Not price gouging like the other one mentioned above.

She has been so patient with my Husky Sapphire every visit and takes her time to and give Sapphire what she needs. Experiencia fantástica: I took a feral kitten to family friends veterinary, they took their time with "little John", they did blood work and gave him antibiotics and most of all, EVERYONE that came in were so kind and loving towards this little guy, you can sure tell how much these animals, it was a great experience! Experiencia fantástica: Dr.Hagen is a fantastic, phenomenal veterinarian! She is professional, kind, caring and talented, detailed in her orientation of each procedure performed. Any question is answered with thoughtfulness and expertise. It is obvious she loves dogs, and all animals as demonstrated in her ease and patience handling them in a personal and caring manner. The Vet techs are also kind and caring, with a genuine concern for my dogs each time I visit, placing their needs as a priority. I feel my dogs are always in a professional, caring atmosphere for their health and well being.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my dogs to Family Friends for 5 years now and have never had a bad experience. Every time I visit the staff are kind, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. It’s obvious that all staff there truly cares about the pets they see. My questions are always answered thoroughly, so I’m educated on what’s best for my pets. My sister recently adopted her first dog, Hodie, and brought him to Family Friends on my recommendation. I had fostered Hodie for 2 weeks before she adopted him. On the ride to his first appointment he started seizing and became critically ill. Unfortunately, we had to make the decision to euthanize. Even in such a difficult and heart breaking situation, the staff there really shined. They were compassionate, empathetic, and patient. We asked the same questions a couple times sometimes, and they never seemed frustrated. They laughed and even cried with us. They gave us as much time as we needed before and after with our sweet boy. Their presence made such a sad situation a little bit easier. We are lucky to have such a great vet with amazing staff to take care of our furry family members. I will continue to take my pets to Family Friends and recommend them to others!

Experiencia negativa: If I could give them a negative star, I would. If you have an anxious animal, don’t take them to this vet. They completely neglect attention to detail and decent customer service. I was treated so poorly by staff and customers in the waiting room that I refuse to ever go there again. I left sobbing, my cat screaming, peeing all over his carrier, and both of us super traumatized by the entire experience. I started taking my 3 cats to this vet back in April and this was Edwin’s second time there. I previously took my cat Norman for a checkup in April and took my kitten, Teeter there 2 times. We are still fairly new customers. I took my middle cat, Edwin in for a checkup and to get his eye looked at, as it has been super gunky and inflamed. He has major anxiety and it stresses him out a lot to go to the vet. I made sure to tell the vet my concerns during Norman’s appointment about bringing Edwin in and how he had lots of stress and anxiety around cars, new people, place and especially dogs.I made a follow up appointment for June 9th for a follow up on his eye and a booster vaccine that he needed. Today was the day I had to take Edwin back for his follow up and I walked in and instantly the front desk lady had a tone and told me to wait in the waiting room. I look into the waiting room and there are 3 large dogs and I kindly reminded her that Edwin can’t be around dogs, there should be notes on this in the system and asked if there was a separate room I could wait in. The front desk lady said “no, we don’t do that here.” In a very rude tone. I kindly asked how long it was going to be and she proceeded to tell me that the technician will be out shortly to give Edwin his shot. I then asked “Wait, they will be doing the shot in the waiting room?” And they replied, “yes, there are no rooms available”. I then explained to them for the 3rd time that Edwin has major anxiety and needs a room and that the shot cannot be administered in the waiting room in front of all of these dogs. One of the large dog owners decided to jump in and say that I should probably get a different vet and the front desk ladies laughed with her. I felt so attacked, I asked for the manager immediately. At this point, I’m sobbing and feel so unheard. The manager heard me out but didn’t offer any sort of fix or compensation for such a horrible visit and said that she needs to hear her staffs side of the story before any compensation is given. I also asked the manager to confirm if there were any notes in Edwin’s file about his anxiety and she confirmed there wasn’t and also stated that there was notes from his last visit saying his anxiety was fine and I can confirm that I have scratch marks scars, and a carrier full of puke that prove otherwise. She was literally trying to tell my that Edwin didn’t have anxiety. I told the manager that unfortunately my trust in them is gone and I don’t feel comfortable taking my babies there any more. She confirmed that because I won’t be coming back, I will have to pay for this experience/booster vaccine. I stated okay and she left the room. A nurse came in and administered the booster shot, mind you the entire time calling Edwin a girl and using she/her pronouns which made me feel even more unheard. There was absolutely no attention to detail, it was neglectful. After the nurse administered the shot, she said “have a great day, you are all set” and she left, so I got the hell out of that crazy place and will not be returning or giving them anymore of my money. The entire experience has made me sick to my stomach. We have given them so much money, time, and TRUST in our fur babies and in return they have completely destroyed our trust and have not listened or paid any attention to detail, especially for a fairly new customer. If you love your fur baby, please choose a vet that loves them too. I can promise you this vet only cares about money. Save your time.
