Red Barn Veterinary Clinic: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: Really??! I just had my pet in the clinic and was given flea meds for an issue that is NOT fleas. I asked to speak with the vet who saw my pet regarding the continuing issue he is having and what remedies there may be and am being told i will have to bring him in AGAIN for ANOTHER OFFICE VISIT??! NO DISCUSSING W THE VET FIRST ON ISSUE?? NO THKS, I WILL GO ELSEWHERE
Experiencia positiva: We brought our senior dachshund here for dental work. Just for transparency if anyone is wondering about pricing, we paid $2200 for a cleaning and some extractions, which is more than what we were quoted. Not any cheaper than a regular vet office. They did take good care of our pup, but cost is pretty dang high.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog in because she had a tumor develop over night. I went in first thing in the morning & waited about 30 minutes to be seen. The vet & nurses were amazing & extremely helpful throughout the whole process. They made sure I felt heard & made sure i left without any questions. Cant thank them enough for taking care of my pup!
Experiencia fantástica: They are great with my dog and help you find a plan to help your pet within your budget. Wonderful office.
Experiencia fantástica: Jude Loves Dr. Marr! Jude mewed the entire ride to the vet, and settled in and didn’t mew once when we entered Red Barn. He was calm & content. Dr. Marr has helped Jude heal a long-term eye issue that he was born with, with expertise & attentive care. My spouse & I just moved to GR and are so pleased with the veterinarian care at Red Barn.
Experiencia fantástica: I love the people here! They are all polite and professional and they take great care of your pets!
Experiencia negativa: Is the worst place to take a dog they don’t give any accurate information… if u had an insurance and file a claim they lied what they said in your face and they give different information the claim insurance. They just took your money and no give any answers about your dogs. I’m so regretting I spend money and they didn’t do shit … worst place !!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Hello I am a homeless vet who lives out of my car the staff of this clinic went out of there way to get me some essential items which they didn't have to I wanted to thank them they don't know how much that meant
Experiencia fantástica: We had to bring our dog there a couple times for a serious problem and both times my wife and I we're both incredibly impressed with this clinic. They were great, friendly and super knowledgeable. They gave our baby excellent care. I couldn't recommend this place more.. also cheaper than expected
Experiencia fantástica: Been coming here with my pup since he was a baby, had the best pop in visit for flea medicine and this was such a great visit, Aaron is just great at his job, u can tell he genuinely loves his job and is so great at customer service! By far the best visit here!!!! Thank you Aaron you sir are appreciated
Experiencia negativa: Always a great experience. The office staff and doctors are so wonderful. I love that it's walk-in with no appointments. . .so convenient for me. this is my review before covid. . . after covid and after 20 plus years of going to this vet I would not recommend them for any amount of money. I went in in person because they don't answer their phones or emails anymore. . . I asked them if my mom called that would mean the cat needed to be put down. I didn't want her sitting out in front of the office for 3 hours with a sick cat. Woman at front desk responded " first come first serve" . . .20 Plus years and this is how you take care of your patrons. this went down 2 years ago sorry I didn't change the review sooner
Experiencia fantástica: This was the first time I ever used or came to the Red Barn Vet Clinic. Over two weeks ago my 5 year old collie mix developed urination problems, there was a few small blood clots in his urine. No offense to other clinics, but I needed someone to see him right away, most need an appointment. However the Red Barn thankfully is a walk-in clinic and were able to see him right away.Evidently he had bladder stones and they were able to do surgery the next day. Dexter is fully recovered and is back to his normal self ,thanks to the veterinarians and staff at the Red Barn.Thank you so much.
Experiencia positiva: I’ve had an overall good experience bringing my puppy here for exams and medicine! Staff is friendly and thoroughly explains everything to me. Facility is clean. Only downside is the wait times can be long.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent service my vet was closed today didn't want to wait til Monday for her to be seen or pay emergency vet prices the 2 hour wait was worth it
Experiencia fantástica: As far as veterinary clinics go, Red Barn is one of the fee that I would ever take my dogs to because they genuinely care about the well-being of my dogs. Despite my dog’s absolute hate for the vet, they still come out of the facility as healthy as they could be and that makes me feel very secure. I stand by Red Barn to take care of my babies!
Experiencia negativa: This placed used to be wonderful. We brought all of our animals here and they provided great care prior to changing ownership. I’m not quite sure how they still have license after our experience and reading all the reviews. I brought my ill cat in after arriving home from ten days on the road for work and discovering that she was yellow, not eating, lethargic and had lost weight. Since I hadn’t been home, I had no way of knowing what her urinary habits had been. We arrived around 8:30 and waited until 11:00 to be brought into a room. Prior to even entering the room, not having answered any basic questions whatsoever, a receptionist came out to the waiting area and handed me a list of tests they wanted to run on my cat, totaling around $400.00. Eventually, we were led into a room and the vet came in. I spent another 30 minutes dancing around with her, trying to understand where these expensive tests would even lead us. Surgery? Treatment? Antibiotics? Clearly, there are unknowns. Understandably. But my instincts told me this was a money grab. We ran FIV tests and eventually she prescribed amoxicillin. Two hours and 300.00 later we left. Nothing about urine was ever mentioned. The cat was improving and we had run through the antibiotics. I was spending more time with her and realized, she wasn’t urinating in the box, she was straining to pee and she was spending a lot of time trying. I called and told them I thought she actually had a prolonged UTI. I was hopeful we could run another round of treatment since it was quite clear now what was going on. The tech read the notes back to me which included “…agreed that if no improvement, would return and hard decisions would be made.” She said the Dr. would review and call back in 24 to 48 hours. She also said “well when you came in, nothing about urine was mentioned and no tests were run on the urine.” Because no one ever asked and quite honestly, I hadn’t been with the cat to even know. But, no one in the office ever saw the cat before handing me a list of pricey tests which didn’t include a urinalysis. I was leaving town again for several days and wouldn’t he able to spend hours and hours waiting at that clinic again. It seemed based on the notes, they were committed to one course of action. Knowing I’d be bringing her to her death if we returned there, we quickly scheduled a virtual vet visit with an online vet clinic. The first thing that vet asked was why urine tests weren’t run. She immediately prescribed medication for a complex uti, After a few days of another antibiotic, the cat is doing much better. We will bring her to a legitimate vet when we run the course of antibiotics prescribed. But, we will never go back to this place. I probably wouldn’t bring a dead animal here, most certainly not a live one. Update: the cat is doing great, no thanks to red barn. Added photo for proof that intervention from a knowledgeable vet was all the cat really needed. She absolutely would not be alive if we had chosen to return to this vile facility. Animal Medical Center of Wyoming is absolutely amazing, and affordable and offers legitimate vet visits. They took x rays and treated for LESS than red barn wanted just to draw some blood and run tests without EVER suggesting that we put the cat down. Red barn is unprofessional and unethical. Do right by your animal and avoid this place.
Experiencia negativa: I would give them zero took my 11 month old husky in cause he was barely eating they gave him a xray and said he had a small intestine blockage and needed expluturey surgery that cost 2400 I don't have that so they gave him iv fluids and we went home they said he was going die without the surgery I should surrender him to the humane society but 2 weeks later changed his food back he's not constipated anymore and back to his normal self they don't know what their doing there stay away
Experiencia fantástica: I had never been here before as a customer. Came in with my 15 year old best feline bud, Ink, who wasn't doing well. I had been keeping him alive while he was clearly ready to go. They were gentle and kind, but firm on the facts. They didn't make us leave the room, I got to be with him the whole time. They wrapped him beautifully in a blanket and let us take him home. He looked like he was sleeping. One week later, and we received a card in the mail, signed from the whole staff. Small a token as it may be, i found it very touching. Thank you for being kind to my friend in his last moments, and for being empathetic and understanding with us.
Experiencia fantástica: Trucker friendly! Been here several times over the past 2 years. Very friendly staff, decent prices & clean place. Can’t beat first come first serve, but get there by 7 on saturdays. I’ve never had trouble getting seen quickly during the week. They’re very respectful to my protective dog & he’s treated well. (For truckers) can park a bobtail in the walking path parking area with no trouble on weekdays.
Experiencia negativa: No appointments. Wait times can vary drastically. Hopefully, they call you back. The doctors are typically nice.
Experiencia fantástica: I take my animals here. Very friendly and caring people work here. I always get there an hour and a half before they open so I am first in line. Worth the wait and half the price without sacrificing care. Amazing!
Experiencia negativa: This place is horrible, trust me when i say they DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR PET, only the money. Edit: I came for an emergency surgery earlier this year spent my last on my dog, and then my dog needed another surgery and I couldn’t afford it and I told you guys I couldn’t. But for some reason the 2nd time around you guys knew a lady that could do it for cheaper? My thing is, if YOU COULDVE REFERRED ME TO THAT LADY THE FIRST TIME instead of being greedy, I would still have my dog.
Hello, doctors do need to get paid for their time and services rendered. They have their own families to care for, staff to support, supplies and equipment to pay for, and we receive no funds via grants as human medicine does. We expect that you would not be willing to work for free either (especially after 8 years of training and significant student debt). It's comments like these that drive veterinary medicine to have one of the highest suicide rate of professions. This is also a good time to remind you that owning a pet is a privilege and not a right and that comes with responsibilities most of which are financial. We hope you find a veterinary clinic that better suits your needs.
The Red Barn
Experiencia fantástica: This place is AMAZING ! Friendly, personal service throughout the entire staff. Pricing seems to be much lower than most other vets / clinics. We expect to bring our 3rd cat there today, to get shots and all previous records in their system. THANK YOU !
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT RECOMMEND! AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! Decided to come in to have my dogs nails trimmed and one infected ingrown nail looked at. Young girl took my dog in the back for about 3 minutes and brings her back with bleeding nails. I realized she had cut past the quick of two nails on a different paw of the infected one, and I asked her bandage it up. She says “it’s normal and it should eventually stop”, so she doesn’t do anything. She then comes back and decides to put styptic powder on the bleeding nails. I speak to the veterinary and she says “it happens all the time”. What kind of professional service is this?? This shouldn’t be “happening all the time”; I’ve gone to way cheaper places and leaving satisfied. Left the vet with a $175 bill and a horrible experience! Never coming back again. Response to Red Barn: First of all, I had just noticed her nails were long. She was licking her paw, and I discovered one nail was infected. I could have taken her to our regular groomer if there hadn’t been a problem, but I decided it was critical to bring her in the moment I saw the issue to get her nails trimmed and secure antibiotics. You charge an outrageous $85 just to talk to the vet for less than two minutes! Her nails aren’t black—they’re clearly pink/white. You so-called 'professionals' should know to trim the nail gradually until reaching the quick; bleeding doesn’t just happen because nails are too long. It’s obvious you employ incompetent staff to rush people through and grab their cash.
Your bill was 175 dollars because you let your dogs nails grow to long and they got infected. This required an office call, pain meds, and antibiotics which will be more than just a nail trim. The quicks got trimmed during the nail trim as a result of the nails being too long. We hope you a find a veterinary clinic that suits your needs better.

Experiencia fantástica: The caring staff here provided a very peaceful and accommodating end of life experience for my cat in an urgent situation. I'm grateful for the availability and affordability of this clinic.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you so much for the wonderful care and much needed medical services today. Our kitty Newka is home safe with us because of you guys. We will always remember today and appreciate you.
Experiencia positiva: I have used this clinic for about 6yrs now and they have always been friendly and fairly priced. Recently I called to get updated pricing and make sure the things I wanted done didn't need an appt. Got there and they had neglected to tell me what I wanted done would also need an office visit=$65 dollars I hadn't planned on. Drove 45 min 1 way to have to turn around.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing service!! Fast, efficient and affordable. I love the walk in clinic. I finally found a place that truly loves humans & their pets!!! They are honest and fair. Amazing staff
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful staff, incredibly helpful. Thankful to have this option! Highly recommend! Make sure you get there early as it's first come first serve
Experiencia negativa: I called before coming that my sisters cat was dying and in pain. They said to come asap. I was there within 10 mins I walked in and 2 girls were just standing there talking not offering any help and could clearly hear the cat crying. As i held inclose she was letting her bowels and urine go. I knee it was close and wanted to jelp her. So i said can i get help i habe a dying cat here and need help. The girl said ill be right with u. Which 5 mins later she did. Thos was way too long to me. We got in a room and waited yet again about another 10 mins. I would not recommend thos place for any dying animal
Experiencia fantástica: My cat goes here! Vets are always kind and good with my kitty. Usually, he's rude to new people but he always lets the employees touch him. Thanks to this place, my son is a happy, healthy kitty I'll put some pics of him because I always need an excuse to show him to people
Experiencia negativa: My son took his dog to his appointment to be neutered today. He had the consultation previously and was told the price it would be. He called to confirm the price a couple of days ago. When he went to pick up his dog today the charge was nearly double what they quoted. There were no complications or any reason for that to happen. I'm very disappointed in this Vet. They were very dishonest. It's really going to set my son back and be hard to recover from.
Experiencia negativa: I went for a consultation to have my dog neutered 2 weeks ago and was told the price range would be between $370-425 and even called to confirm two days before his surgery that the price range they gave me was correct. Today I arrived to pick up my dog after his surgery and they said the price was over $600 because the price they quoted me didn’t include the blood work or medication. Would have been really nice to know ahead of time instead being blindsided with an extra charge.
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT COME HERE! Wish I could give this zero stars, place is a JOKE. Not only was the wait time so long that we sat for hours and they could never get our dog in for a simple vaccine, but they were rude and impatient. Keep your fur babies safe and stay away!!!!!!!
Experiencia negativa: 1 star overall, an extra for the kindness and patience we received from the first vet assistant. Do not bring your pet here if you have any desire to question or challenge conventional medicine. I've been coming here for years with my cat(mainly due to the convenience). This changes today. I brought in my puppy and regret doing so. The doc didn't know what type of vaccine she was about to administrator and snarked "does it matter?" I was able to decipher it by looking at the label they placed on his chart. She then asked what he was eating, I told her, then I mentioned we would soon be changing his diet to something healthier like raw food and...at which point she started to shake her head before I could finish. Explaining the risks of raw MEAT... which I would never do (if it's not safe for me, I wouldnt consider it safe for him). I can give my dog raw carrots, spinach, and apples... Might you take a bit more time to listen to your clients, educate without judgment, and be willing to answer questions we clearly are taking caution to research. I'm really disappointed in the lack of compassion towards us as owners. Things would have been different had you shown an ounce of love or joy towards our irresistible pup.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff was great, the hours available worked easily for me, the diagnosis was swift and my visit all together from check in to exiting took about 45 min. My cat is thankful to this team of professionals.
Experiencia fantástica: Recently went back after avoiding this place for a few years. The old staff was rude and I never thought I would go back. Dr. Marr and staff were more than helpful and friendly. Sure the wait was a little long but that's expected. They were not pushy and covered everything we needed faster and cheaper than expected. Our cat is healing as expected.
Experiencia negativa: Used to be a very good place , the veterinarian was a joke and didn't even look at the animal, and diagnosed but it was totally wrong . The staff was nice but won't be going back .
Experiencia positiva: I'm not sure about the place the vets are nice but I'm not sure if they know what meds give to the pets I took 2 of my cats there with upper respiratory infection a 1 also got allergies they gave them some med for bladder infection and skin infection and flies med couse someone had brought them to my house and my cats end up with couple of them anyways all the medication was 300 dollars and they still sick payed over $ 460 and still sick.smh
Experiencia negativa: This place is a scam and Dr Marr is incompetent. I brought my Aussie in because she was having an issue with her mouth. Reason brought in was not eating all of her meals, her breath was atrocious and seemed to be less energetic than normal. She was drinking fine and pooping and peeing just fine. Marrs checked her out And decided an X-ray to rule out obstruction along with complete blood panel. I okayed xray. She seemed to get very anal on my dog having Addison's. I told her no it was not that as I did have a terrier with Addison's we treated for years. Asked to start with CBC blood work first which would show an infection or inflammation. She refused because she wanted to do them all. After speaking to my daughter, who is a registered vet tech, she did agree to CBC n go from there. Again insisting on doing the full panel I agreed. She came back saying blood work looks great and she does NOT have Addison's. Which I replied I told you it was not Addison's. Gave us a couple of pain pills n some nausea medicine $40, which was never even a symptom. One week later went to vet with same symptoms n Dr very softly opened her mouth to reveal a large growth in the back of her throat that was blood red. Mind you Dr Marrs never opened her mouth just looked at her teeth by pulling up the lip. So the $250 for blood work was very unnecessary. I called their office on the way home n asked for the manager, which they do not have. Receptionist was clearly told to be their buffer. After I expressed how unhappy I was with her not looking into my dog's mouth I was put on hold. She came back to say an oral exam would consist of sedation. Which I probably would have done over blood work. She never mentioned she would not do an oral exam. She should have stated that up front n I would have left to go to a competent vet to have her mouth examined. Vet visit to check out her mouth with meds was $77. Cost at Red Barn for unnecessary tests n meds $450. They should becom a VCA cause they clearly are only in it to top customers off. I will also be filing a report with LARA against her license. I also began going there when it was just a small facility I believe Dr Signs. Dr Curly was also great but now this facility just wants in clients pockets to drain with unnecessary tests.
Experiencia fantástica: I was a walk in and was told the estimate wait time which was accurate. Dr. Marr was so kind and understanding. She listened thoroughly to my concerns even though I overwhelmed her with 8 little kittens and their mother. She was empathetic and she was up front about prices and options. I could only do the bare minimum according to my funds. My financial situation is very tight right now and I need two root canal’s in two days. She gave me the best option for my situation and that was a huge blessing. I HIGHLY recommend Red Barn. Caring staff. She even gave me a much needed hug! I had such a hard day and my sister had to put down her horse today too. Life is so hard and my anxiety was high and they just made it a great experience for me. I’m so appreciative and thankful for them. Every place I called were booked out for two weeks or more. I’m so thankful that they offer walk ins.
Experiencia negativa: My dog lost her life Due to the neglect of being diagnosed wrong. After bringing her to another vet a short time later For a second opinion due to no change in her health. It was found out that the wrong leg was x rayed and given a diagnosis on a leg that was completely healthy, Mean time the leg that was never x-rayed that was supposed to be x rayed could have been amputated and saved her life. But because she wasn't diagnosed properly. I lost my dog. RIP MY SWEET KARMA
Experiencia fantástica: Really nice and friendly place. I gave this place five stars from the way I was treated the way our dog Fendi was treated How knowledgeable they are with the technology and just spot on with everything else overall a very nice veterinarian.
Experiencia negativa: New doctors wanted me to spent almost $ 600 just because she doesn't want to touch big dogs without giving complete seductive.. as she has phobia for big dogs. Why even they work as a vetif they have animal related phobia. It is completely not acceptable
Manali,
You arrived at your visit without the sedation for your very large, aggressive dog that we have discussed ad nauseum and prescribed for all other visits. Thus, we are not putting our staff at risk to examine him (especially when he presented for a painful leg).
Experiencia negativa: I brought my sick cat in three weeks ago now. He was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, and prescribed oral doxycycline. While at the appointment, a vet tech came in to get my cat and take him for a blood test. She picked him up and when he clung to her she screeched. I asked if she was okay, and she said yes, he “scared her”. Please find another job if you get frightened by a six pound cat. He finished his round of antibiotics, but is still sick. I called in to see if another antibiotic could be prescribed. I had to wait two days for an answer, and was told he’d have to come back in to be seen. He was just there. He was just seen. He’s sick with the same illness as before. Two days and that’s the best answer you could come up with? This seems more like a money grab for exam fees than anything. I will not take another four hours out of my day to stand in line to wait for my cat to be seen. He’s been sick for over a month now, and will continue to be until he can get in with our regular vet. Thank you for nothing, Red Barn. $240 down the drain for a cat that is still sick. And by the way, my tiny cat was more afraid of you, than you were of him. Grow up.
Experiencia negativa: STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!! This place treats it customers as their own private ATM. The are scammers with horrible elitist attitudes. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL. they will challenge your opinion at every turn. they attempt to force vaccine's and treatment that are not necessary or go above and beyond to say you have an attitude if you challenge them back. Pricing and service is horrible. I am capable of giving various shots but they say they will not accept them. you have been warned! seems to always jump to the most expensive treatment first and will give friends preference, more than they will you. we were long time customers. we thought we would give them another chance. not happening again.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible place.. LISTEN UP!! THEY USE TO BE GOOD! THEY NOW HAVE NEW VET WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY! LAST TIME I CAME IN I ONLY PAID 80.00 THIS TIME I ENDED UP LEAVING OUT WITH A 300.00 FOR TEST THAT DIDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING! THEY WERE WORTHLESS. WENT TO ANOTHER VET THAT TOLD ME THE SAME THING. THE PRICES U PAY HERE U CAN PAY AT ANY OTHER high end VET OFFICE!! I will NEVER return and will TELL EVERYONE THAT I know to NOT GO THERE. I might even go on Facebook if need be. What you are doing is unethical. I truly wish the other vet was still there she actually cared about the pets. Not understating how they figure they can charge such high prices when they barely provide 1 star service along with having a nasty dirty smelling building. I'm sure those 5 stars are for when the other vets were WORKING there b/c then it was 5 starts just as I had given them years back. I have now updated those stars to 0-1 because it's nothing like that anymore.
Experiencia fantástica: We brought an injured kitten in today that ended up having to be euthanized, the animal control totally failed us, and would not help us. The staff at red barn was so caring and helped us within minutes of us arriving and took care of the situation was such compassion.
Experiencia fantástica: I'm not going to post specifics, there were extenuating circumstances and I don't want to give people the wrong idea! But the staff at Red Barn Veteranian Clinic need to be recognized for their care and compassion!! The Animal Shelter was our first stop in a DESPERATE time of need for an animal that had no owner. WE were PLEADING for help.. they completely FAILED and were far less than humane when they turned us away. We Drove the 45 (extremely long) minutes, and Red Barn had the situation handled within minutes!!! Literally minutes !!! If you feel the need to support somewhere local with any gifts or donations...please consider this establishment !!!! They are the best !!! The care and compassion expressed was greatly appreciated !!!
Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience ! I took my dog in for booster vaccines today and they gave her a vaccine I didn't request or require ! They came into the room to take her back for a blood draw , brought her back in and said they gave her the vaccines while they had her in the back. I went for boosters . Rabies , parvo & distemper. Without my consent they gave her the kennel cough vaccine and did not give her the rabies vaccine that I requested and was clearly in her chart. Her chart stated she was due for her booster , and she has NEVER HAD THE KENNEL COUGH VACCINE. They obviously don't have it together. What if that was meds for an animal to be put down and they gave it to my dog ?? I've been going there for 14 years, well today was my last time. I also waited 2.5 hrs to get booster vaccines in their so called walk in clinic. Boooo. Bad business on them.
Experiencia negativa: This place is scamming people out of money. Everything has increased since Dr. Curly and the other vets left. You realize how poorly priced they are once you go to another vet and compare. They now force you to get heart worm tests done ever year, even if you pay for medicine all year long. You can't sign the waiver like Dr. Curly used to allow. They are not transparent with their prices. They don't even want to tell you the cost of an office visit unless they know if you are new or returning and also pull your file. That's weird. That seems like different people get different prices. Other vets don't do that. They are also very quick to muzzle your dog, which never used to happen with the previous vets. Specifically, the vet Allison Marr. She doesn't even check your pet out well. These aren't good vets anymore. They are focused on money. Read the reviews. This is an alright place if you desperately need immediate care, but you still might not get a correct diagnosis, proper treatment, and you'll get scammed out of more money than necessary. This used to be an awesome place when Curly was there and the other vets. These. Are. All. New. Vets. And they are god awful.
Experiencia negativa: The old vets that used to run this place are no longer here. Dr. Curley, Dr. Nied, and Dr. Nguyen have all left. The women who run this place are overcharging for what used to be very affordable. My dog needed a simple external lump removal and we got quoted $1,000. Which made absolutely no sense since Dr. Curley had previously done much more complex surgeries for half the cost pretty recently. So, we got a second opinion from another vet clinic. The new vet clinic quoted us $300 for the same exact surgery. They even have a cheaper office visit price. Redbarn was going to overcharge us by 700 dollars. That is absolutely insane. Allison Marr told us that all prices have gone up with all vets and it was a normal price these days. No, that's a blatant lie. This place has become terrible since Dr. Curley retired. The people are rude, stressed out, and overcharge you. You have to wait hours for an appointment. Do yourself a favor by saving yourself time and so much money and find a new vet. Avoid this place.
Experiencia fantástica: We have had great experiences with Red Barn! Love that it’s a walk in clinic, we can get in same day if needed. Very affordable as well. We’ve had a run on cat illness and injuries in our house, but we’ve been able to get them all seen quickly without having to wait weeks for an appointment, or having to go to a pricey emergency clinic.
Experiencia fantástica: It was great. I have not been there in years. I needed to bring in a kitten that my daughter found at her home. They asked all of the neighbors if it was theirs and everyone said it was not. My wife said we would take him but we did not want him around our 2 cats until he could be seen and tested for any diseases. No vets could see him for a week up to a month. Red Barn is walk in only. No appointments at all. So you go before they open and line up at the front door. NOT in your car. When they open it is first come first served until they close. At first I thought this was a crazy setup. Was I wrong. You actually have a lot of control. It was a Saturday, so they opened at 8:30 am. I arrived at 6:00 am. I normally get up at 4 am so it was no big deal. I was first in line, which is what I was shooting for. It was a very nice day and the time went by fast. Other people arrived and we were all talking about pets. They opened and gave the kitten a full work up. They tested his stool, tested for other common diseases, gave him a tick and dewormer medicine. Gave him his vaccines and took some blood. He was in good health and condition. I was there for about 35-40 mins. The cost was 235 dollars which I thought was a bargain especially since it was a Saturday. They were all kind, friendly and professional. I think from now on I will just take all my pets there. They were that good and professional and here is this great part. I can take my pets whenever I want. If I want to go early like I did today to be at the front of the line, that is MY choice. I don't have to call around anymore to all the vets in town, including the one I have been going to for over 20 years begging for an appointment which is usually a week or longer. It was great, great, great. I was home by 9:30 and had the rest of Saturday back. How cool is that? Pretty darn cool.
Experiencia negativa: Not sure whether or not they got a new primary Vet but this place used to be reasonable, affordable and only did what was necessary; no frills. Now when we go in there, it’s at least $200 no matter what we end up doing, and they throw the kitchen sink at my pets every single time we are there. Again, used to love this vet, but lately they’ve been doing what most other vets do: overprice, and upsell services. Silver lining after the main Vet gave us our estimate, the tech came in and helped us weed out completely unnecessary services. Please go back to being affordable, and providing reasonable options for customers.
Experiencia negativa: They are always so slow and unorganized. I don’t understand why they only take walk in and only have 4 rooms. Waited 2 hours just to get an appointment and then another 30 minutes for the room itself. Once you finally get in the room you wait another 15 minutes just for the doctor to come on. It’s all just very slow and they have 20 people on staff. And we request a female vet and they give us a male. They also muzzle your dog just to trim their nails which is crazy to me and uncomfortable. The front desk in low key rude and rushes you. I would go some where else.
Experiencia fantástica: Extremely happy with this clinic we thought we were going lose our kitten because of an obstruction so we call it was almost close and they still told us to come in for x rays and they found out it was something else they gave us antibiotics and he is back to his happy playful self we are so grateful to you.
Experiencia positiva: Very good with my furry family member! Prices are what they are! But good service very clean! I have had all my pet members use red barn services!
Experiencia negativa: First they seem nice, I needed help with my dogs coughing, they ran additional test that I did not authorize. I told them I only had 500 dollars and they brought me an estimate almost to the amount of 500 leaving no money for prescriptions, Then removed some test to accommodate me and not Abby, ran an additional test at my expense to tell me.it was negative, then wrote her a prescription for a narcotic that I had to call all over the city of Grand Rapids to no avail. It's all about money and no real care for my pet. I'm extremely disappointed in the service I received here, they are trying to make profit from anyone who comes.in this place. Watch out for unauthorized charges, they'll get you. I will go to Fur wellness on Plainfield Ave in the future, they are a low cost full service veterinarian clinic. So sorry I went here they drained me financially with no resolution for my pet. Additionally the diagnosisd Abby with collapsing trachea, and only gave me a weeks supply so to keep my having to come back. No refills it's horrible what they have done and cost me everything I had saved. I'm so disappointed and poor Abby is right back where she started at.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible, Rude, Avoid at all cost Front Desk is beyond incompetent, always on their phones, and talking in the backroom with each other like a bunch of elementary school girls Since Dr, Curly left this place is horrible Family has been coming here since the 80’s And we will never go back Due to their lack of customer service at the front desk and the Dr’s currently working there IMO incompetent. This place is strictly $$$ driven, for example if u want to buy flea/tick medication they try to scam u into paying for a heartworm test, This is a Joke . For Decades they allowed customers to sign a waiver, Avoid at all Cost they are completely $$$ driven and you can find better care and much lower prices elsewear with caring and respectful front desk and Vet’s Decades long Business that won’t be around long with their current staff Avoid at all cost IMO
Experiencia fantástica: Great for when you don't have a designated vet. Or can't make appointments for a new issue with your pet. Friendly staff. Show up early, and expect people to already be in line waiting.
Experiencia fantástica: Yeah it takes a min to be seen but they don’t do unnecessary testing and they are knowledgeable and courteous and super cool. Saved my dogs life so there’s that too ❤️
Experiencia negativa: Got my baby neutered one of his veins in his body collapsed from his private area all the way to his vein in the front leg turned completely black and his hair fell out .l called and told them what happened they showed no concern I lost two other dogs that they did operation on ,my other dog starts showing same symptoms like my other albino dog The doctor said my dog was just overweight ,I called another vet and they told me what it sounded like a disease they told me to go back to the Red Barn so they can do the operation I rush back to red barn the nurse waited on other people that came in after me she got upset when we went in the room, threw the papers down on my dog and walked out the room l took her to another vet they did an emergency surgery without knowing me or my dog and save her life. lf u love animals my skin tone has nothing to do with my pets life ,you were willing to let my dog die because I am of my color karma is real and so is my heavenly father
Experiencia negativa: I should have read the reviews first. The staff were rude and short. Waited for 45 min then brought to room and sat another 45 before I left. Also watched as some of the young dog owners were buying expensive food at the suggestion of staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place anymore to anyone.
Experiencia positiva: Red Barn is a decent walk-in clinic that is fairly priced (compared to an emergency hospital). I’d recommend Red Barn if you’re needing to be seen same day (still expect a couple hour wait and either get there in the morning or at 1pm after lunch). But if you’re not in a pinch or having an emergency, find another vet if you want a vet that truly cares about your pet after you leave their office! We got a new puppy last year and have brought her there 4 separate times now. Each time, we have had a different vet see us. If you’re wanting a vet you can build a relationship with, this is not the place. Our last visit we met with their newest vet. I was not a fan; she recommended tests and X-rays that totaled almost $500 because our dog was not a fan of being examined by her. She had thrown up her breakfast but was otherwise acting normal and had been having solid poops all morning. She’s 7 months and is very friendly if you give her a minute to meet you, however she was very quick to to muzzle her (her first time being muzzled) and bring her to the back to examine her, which our dog had never done before - of course she was nervous! She recommended testing for parvo and for a blockage, even though she said our dog wasn’t acting like a dog with parvo and even though I told her she was crated with nothing to swallow. I declined both due to costs and they gave me the option to give her anti-nausea medicine and fluids for just under $200 w/visit; we proceeded with that instead of the parvo tests and X-ray. I’m so glad we did, she was fine when we got home and back to normal 100% the next day! No parvo, no blockage. I believe she would have been fine even without the nausea medicine or fluids. I really just went for peace of mind and I was almost out $500! Our last visit just felt very transactional. Our other visits I did not feel that way, but again you don’t get to choose the vet you see.
Experiencia negativa: I would give no stars if I could since Doctor Curley left..They made me wait hours for nothing and refused my payment method they have honored for years over a decade! This place has no decency or class in my opinion and it totally seems like they do not care about anybody's pets or customers time or money aswell. Doctor Curly was the greatest Veterinarian professional that I have ever known, but now that he is *gone It seems like everybody here I mean, everybody is on a different page. And they've already changed payment rules and who knows what else?
Experiencia fantástica: I took my baby in for an ear infection. The doctor was so patient and very caring with both of us.
Experiencia negativa: This is NOT a walk in clinic on Saturday their hours are 8:30-12, I got there at 8:56 and stood in line outside with multiple people in front of me and when we finally got called in I was told they could not see me as I was not in line at exactly 8:30, the front desk women who stated this was extremely rude and condescending! This place has completely gone down hill since Dr. Curley retired I have been taking my pets here for 25 years and the service has become absolutely horrible! Do not take take your pets here. I am in the customer service field and if I treated any of my customers like this women did I would be out of a job. I am in absolute shock about this and how they treat people and will never trust them with my pets. I will be finding a new veterinarian.
Experiencia positiva: I have been coming here for years. They are reasonably priced, and I love that you don't need an appointment to be seen. I have had to let some of my furbabies go here, and they are very respectful and give you all the time you need. We were just here a few days ago because my cat has a wound on her leg. We were lucky to pick a slow time and were able to go right into a room. At certain times of the day, there can be a long wait, but that isn't the fault of the Dr's or staff. There are just a lot of people there at that time.
Experiencia negativa: they have around 10 staff members that do nothing but talk in the lobby with the receptionist who also does nothing, the staff is cold and rude. my calls are never answered, i constantly receive the worst service any time ive been here, if you are desperate and ur animal has nothing serious then i suppose this place is fine. but PLEASE if you love your pet and have the money please DO NOT COME HERE. ive been disappointed time and time again, giving this business the benefit of the doubt each time. but there is nothing redeemable about this establishment. They have no remorse.
Experiencia fantástica: Long wait, but they were very busy helping lots of sick pets. They were very gentle with my 15 year old dog, and helped cure an infection that she was suffering from. It was very affordable, and the staff was wonderful
Experiencia negativa: I have taken my eight month old puppy here a few times along with other pets. The vet is very nice she is amazing with dogs, but the way they run the businesses is unorganized. You’ll be stuck waiting for at least an hour. Came in to get treated for her allergies, she had a viral infection in her ear we just needed the correct antibiotic to solve the problem. Ended up costing $160, which is understandable but the prices are overall unreasonable. $60 for an office visit to be handed two cotton swabs to clean her ears with? then just sitting there for ages until we are brought medicine? After looking at reviews of how many people have had fatalities over malpractice urks me.
Experiencia fantástica: they have always taken very good care of both of my dogs every time i bring them. staff is always very friendly and makes the trip to the vet very seamless.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been using Red Barn Vet for several years now. Everything from preventative treatment to euthanasia is handled by a very caring staff (and the Doctors, too!) I would recommend them to anyone. The only thing to keep in mind is that they are walk-in only except for scheduled surgeries.
Experiencia fantástica: It's excellent for a walk in vet service. Yes, there's a wait. The prices are reasonable and you're seen the same day. The vet was wonderful with my old much loved dog.
Experiencia negativa: One of the worst days of my life. Took my dog in for a UTI . No fever very active normal day and 10 minutes later after they bring back from doing her test she can’t walk she’s vomiting and we get told that she needs to go to the ER. Next morning our dog past away.
Experiencia positiva: Great veterinary clinic, the staff is friendly and very helpful. I do Wish they would have an option to book appointments as sometimes they are already booked before we have a chance to get our cats in. It would make check ups much easier and less stressful since we have tight schedules and can't rely on waiting in line or trying to be there before it gets booked up. Other than that no complaints.
Experiencia fantástica: Took my husky girl here after she got a fishing hook stuck in her lip. They took such good care of her! Very reasonable pricing and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Thank you so much for caring for my girl ❣️
Experiencia fantástica: The clinic makes it easy to get in and out without an appointment. Nice staff and the veterinarian was great. Through, kind and knowledgeable. Will be back.
Experiencia negativa: If I could I would give 0 stars. I brought my cat in for a urinalysis and specifically told them that's why I was coming in. They completely disregarded my request and said I need to get him fixed. I didn't realize they didn't give a urinalysis so I went with it. They made his UTI turn into a urinary obstruction and tried to blame it on his stress from home. I wasn't born yesterday, he obviously was stressed from the surgery they pushed and pushed for me to do. I wish I knew how to sue this place, I'm just a young adult so they're lucky. They almost killed my cat and I spent $8,000 in the end to fix the problem they caused. Also I have to add that they killed my boyfriends dog years ago because of misdiagnosing her as well. If you hate your pet then bring them here. They'll happily kill your pet and take your money for it.
Experiencia fantástica: Came in as a walk in and my furbaby was seen right away and they took such good care of him, was working on a budget and told the vet that and she worked with me to keep me in my budget range. Dr. Hunter is absolutely amazing and cares about every furbaby she helps. Highly recommend, will definitely bring all my furbabies here. Thank you so very much Dr. Hunter.
Experiencia fantástica: We've taken all of our pets here for years. The staff is so nice and caring. They make you feel like family and our animals love them. It's walk-in only so it can get busy, but it's worth the comfort of knowing our pets are in great hands.
Experiencia fantástica: It's a walk-in clinic. Understand this completely before the journey of getting in. That being said, the staff are exceptional . Very well versed with all aspects of dealing with pet and owner. My Silver Lab had really bad allergies to foods and a bilateral fungal/bacteria ear infection. Got instructions to rinse/wash inside of ears twice a day and then apply medication. Also switched over to prescription brand dog food along with the treats. 1 week after initial visit, my pooch is much much better. She is 7 years of age, and her upbeat disposition is back. She had us super worried, but these awesome kind souls at the Red Barn helped our whole family out immensely. Thank you again, and no offense. I hope I don't ever have to return. But if the time comes when Riley is feeling ill again, I will not hesitate to come back. Peace ✌️.!.
Experiencia fantástica: Great walk-in veterinarian clinic. Fast and easy, explained the process clearly. Honest people and good prices. Very straight forward and didnt upsell, didnt try to force unnecessary tests and additional costs. They are true pet lovers. Doctor Mar was very kind and made us feel better about our cat. Thanks team!
Experiencia positiva: The actual veterinary care is quite good at this place, so far as I can tell. The fact that they don't make appointments is extremely irritating, especially because often you go down there only to find out that you have to come back the next day. Come on! If it's walk-in only, then accept all walk-ins.
Experiencia fantástica: I came here when my dog had an injury (foot slipped under a fence) and needed immediate medical care (she needed surgery). I had recently moved to the area and thought about going back to my old vet--but came here. SO GLAD that I did! Dr. Curley is so patient and kind. He explains what he is doing--and why. They do what they can to save you money and are very thoughtful and careful with your pet, your time, and your care for your pet. SO grateful that a dear friend commended them to me.
Experiencia fantástica: Yes, this clinic is walk ins and yes you have to wait. Knowing this ahead of time, it doesn’t bother me. Dr Marr and Dr Hunter have given my dogs the best care in their old age. They are compassionate, and knowledgeable to help give your pets the best treatment. The staff has always been amazing.
Experiencia fantástica: Our puppy Penelope decided to roll with the fire ants! She was feverish, had open and bleeding bites all over her back. The Vet saw her, fixed her right up with pain meds, antibiotics and steroids. Within 24 hours she was much better. The bites are drying up and she is herself again. Red Barn saw us in a reasonable time frame. We waited less than an hour!! I would definitely recommend Red Barn!!!
Experiencia fantástica: What an amazing team!! From McKenzie at the front desk, Frankie, Ethan, & Dr Hunter. Thank you for taking such great care of our Plato!! Professional and personable!! Well worth the wait & every penny - we are so grateful for all of you!
Experiencia fantástica: Best staff ever! When I had to put 2 of my cats to sleep at the same time, I was given private time with them before & after (10/22/19). So compassionate ❤️ The vet & his staff were so amazing. I have taken other cats in for different illnesses & they acted the same. I couldn't be more grateful for how they are & they NEVER run up your bill with unnecessary tests, like has happened to me at other places. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!
Experiencia fantástica: My puppy decided to get into a fight with a bee and the bee did some damage to her face but she won the battle. I rushed Millie (My 4 month old black lab) into Red barn and go there shortly before they closed. They were not taking any more people due to it being close to closing but saw her swelled up face and brought her right back and took great care of her. Very nice staff and very affordable given the urgent situation. I highly recommend them.
Experiencia negativa: Wasted my morning to not get help. They aren’t as cheap as they claim, way better prices from Fur Wellness Animal clinic and better service. Red Barn says first come first serve yet I watched three people come in after me go while I waited and when I asked about it I was told there was still one more in front of me before they were to help. Didn’t even care that I was there first waiting before they opened. They are a waste of time for not the cheaper prices they claim, do not waste your time waiting for a clinic that doesn’t care about your animal.
Experiencia negativa: My cats life was taken far too soon because of the malpractice of this establishment. I paid $800 for what was supposed to be a one time surgery to fix my cats urinary problem. Post surgery I was sent home by a vet tech who said “the vet was too busy to discharge me at that moment.” She gave me no prescription for medicine and little to no aftercare instructions so I assumed after my cats healing process, all would be well. The following day he started going down hill and so I called the Red Barn to express my concerns. They said they were unable to find my cats medical file even though he was there the day before. I called again later when he seemed to worsen and they finally found it. I explained in detail his symptoms and they said because they were extremely busy and it was almost closing time I could bring him in tomorrow and that he should be fine until then. Well, he wasn’t. Something inside me told me he wasn’t going to make it until tomorrow so we rushed him to the emergency vet. He passed away on the car ride there. We explained to the emergency vet the reason for his surgery and that we had been under the impression he was going to be okay. She said with the type of urinary condition he had it’s not uncommon for them to get blocked up again. However, when that happens they need immediate medical attention otherwise their kidneys will fail, which is what ended up happening to my poor baby. She said the Red Barn vet should have given us this information in explicit detail during our cats discharge. The next day I called them and demanded to speak to the vet who had given him surgery and he informed me that not only was my cat supposed to be given medication that they had failed to give me a prescription for, but they have a “strict policy” that if a cat is under the condition that mine was in that he should have been brought in for immediate attention and they would have treated him. I explained how the previous day my file hadn’t been found and once it had they told me to come in the next day. I asked why wasn’t I given the prescription when my cat was discharged??? He struggled to find an answer to give me, and proceeded to offer me half of my money back for my cats surgery. This doesn’t change the fact that he is gone. I don’t care about the money, I want my baby back. Because of their carelessness and malpractice my kitty who wasn’t even 2 years old was taken from my family far too soon. I suggest taking your pets to a place where their lives are actually valued.
Experiencia positiva: We took my daughters cat there yesterday to be spayed. So far, the cat is doing well. I would have given them 5 stars, but the lady I dealt with when we picked the cat up kept trying to sell me things we didn't need and the bill was already so high as it was.
Experiencia fantástica: First time there today, They were so good with my scared little man, they made him feel comfortable, was in an out in less than hour and Pricing Exam, Ear clean, aspiration of a Ear hematoma, Flea and tick preventative put on and antibiotics medicine, only cost me $185.85 almost everywhere else that would have cost near $600+ love that they have walk ins , loved that they allowed my little guy to be with me in the exam room as he's a big Mama's boy, and they let him have his stuffed animal with him in the exam room well being checked out, Excellent care. I recommend them. Also they didn't judge me for not being able to afford the vet the past couple of years and not being able to bring him
Experiencia fantástica: An emergency vet clinic where the people there actually care about your animals I've seen firsthand how they provide top-notch care in emergency situations. Everything is updated and fresh definitely a place I would recommend.
Experiencia positiva: I have been taking my dogs for the last 19 years to this vet. The doctors are very good. I have had a few issues with the staff services and pricing for meds and just being pretty much rude to me. This has just started recently. I was in today and waited for over an hour just to get meds and I had a few questions for the doctor and was just sent packing. I was told they could not find a doctor. I am on the fence about switching but probably will. Too bad a bad egg or two can cause them to lose my business after 19 years. I am still pondering but I hope they get it figured out. The doctors are very knowledgeable. The building isn't that big. I saw several docs walk by while I was waiting. Or maybe they could write down my question and call me back or just simply answer when I call before driving 25 miles in. You try to call and always get a recording to leave a message.
Experiencia fantástica: Very compassionate and gentle with pets - my sweet kitty has been having a very rare allergic reaction and they handled him with care, took the time to throughly explain everything to me, and gave him plenty of reassurance pets. Entered absolutely clueless as to what was wrong with my boy, and left with antibiotics, he received a cortisol shot, and a diagnosis of good as new in 10 days Dr. Michael Curley and all of the ladies are amazing and friendly, thank you so much!
Experiencia negativa: We’ve been taking our dog there for over a year now. But, we’ve concluded it’s time to move on. For those that don’t know, this clinic started out as a walk-in facility. When attempting to walk in last week to get meds for our dog, they told me they’ve changed the walk-in hours two times within the two weeks attempting to get our dog in to be seen and get a new prescription for his illness. When we finally got the walk-in hours straight we took him in. They came out and took his blood for evaluation. After that I sat for almost 3-hrs. When we were finally called in, this doctor looked at his ears, rubbed his back, opened his mouth, listened to his heart in and out within 47 seconds and I was like NO WAY! She never addressed our dogs illness purposing the need for bloodwork and being seen. She said, “Look at that he's all good for another year!”.... I sat here for 3 hours for you to pet my dog and that was mandatory. THE BLOODWORK WAS DONE OVER AN HOUR AGO!!! Some Vets are a scam and it makes me want to go into this business to truly help the community not rob caring pet owners! Like I could cry right now. And how rude they all are. If you don't play they fiddle they are just dismissive and cold. The walk-in vets facility is a way to cut expenditures for pet care, but after walking in to get neglectful service, it’s not worth the couple dollars you save. Their attitudes and dispositions are, they could care less about you or your pet!
Experiencia fantástica: I had a very sick kitty who had been seen by another vet in a different clinic earlier in the week. He was so mis diagnosed and so sick. So I found Red Barn Vet and I couldn't say enough good things. Dr Hunter was so kind, so compassionate and SO knowledgeable. This is a walk in base clinic, so there is a decent wait time but it is SO worth it. One visit with Dr Hunter and my buddy is finally feeling better and so is his momma! Highly recommend!
