Hope Springs Veterinary at Sajo Farm: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: We were fortunate to meet Dr. Dailey and have him thoroughly examine our dog Bo! We scheduled our appointment to determine if Bo had a torn CCL. Dr.Dailey ordered x-rays of Bo’s leg and his abdomen because he was concerned about something else he observed. Dr.Dailey was extremely professional, patient, informative, compassionate, and kind.He is the type of doctor that takes his time and explains everything pertinent to the animal’s condition.I believe God made Dr. Dailey for the purpose of helping animals and their owners feel better!
Experiencia positiva: Cooper Did not feel well. Had pain at the injection site. Would not eat He vomit. I call office was given some things to try. Concern the 2 nd day requested Dr Dewy give me a call. However she did not. The communications at this location needs improvement.
Experiencia fantástica: Good experience with dog’s initial vet appointment. Provided much insight on the new puppy, and provided great recommendations for medicines.
Experiencia negativa: Just a heads up this place reports all your pets to the City of Virginia Beach and if you do.not have a cat license or dog license you will be sent a bill even if it's an indoor cat. I would of never went here if I would of known that I am not paying 50.00 to the city for an inside cat you have been warned. Do not trust these people.
Hi Mitchell,
We’re sorry this came as a surprise and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.
In Virginia Beach, all veterinary hospitals are required by city ordinance to report rabies vaccinations to the City of Virginia Beach. This is not a Hope Springs Veterinary mandate, it is a city requirement that applies to every veterinary practice in Virginia Beach.
Virginia law requires that all dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies, and the City of Virginia Beach also requires that pets receiving a rabies vaccine be licensed with the city, including indoor cats. When a rabies vaccine is administered, veterinary hospitals must submit that information so the city can process or update the pet license. The licensing fee and any billing associated with it come directly from the city, not from our hospital.
We understand that licensing rules can be frustrating, especially for indoor pets, but these regulations are in place as a public health measure to protect both animals and people in our community.
If you have questions about the licensing requirement or fee, the city’s Animal Services department can provide more details. We’re always happy to explain the process in advance as well.
Our goal is to provide transparent, compassionate care while following all local and state laws. We would never report anything outside of what we are legally required to submit.
If you’d like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us directly.

Experiencia fantástica: After noticing my dog shaking her head vigorously, which is typically a telltale sign of an ear infection, I called for an appointment. Thankfully, they were able to get her in the same day. She is a rescue and very apprehensive of the vet, but they were very patient with her and gave her treats to make her more comfortable. Not surprisingly, she had a double ear infection, which they were able to treat with leave in medication and we were on our way in less than an hour. My dog is happy again and is no longer shaking her head.
Experiencia negativa: I’ve been with hope springs since 2017. December 19th 2025 I bring my dog in with a breathing problem early and they still seen him late . I was unfortunately prepared to let my boy Caesar ( Doberman) be put down. I let them run blood test and they said he has low red blood cells and he couldn’t tell me why and didn’t offer to run anymore test or check anything else. So they gave me some meds and said have him take these and comeback Monday. Well the next morning my dog doesn’t want to eat called the vet in the morning they said they’re booked. Took him to the emergency vet because he could barely stand and used bathroom on himself. Before he passed away the vet over there said he had fluid around his heart.. how come my vet couldn’t tell me that ? Left a voice mail for hope springs no call back. Nobody picked up phone Monday called multiple times. Just unprofessional and we don’t blame them for him dying but no urgency or care about my boy. Proverbs 12:10 “ A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast” See you in Heaven Caesar.
Experiencia fantástica: Best Vet around! Can’t recommend enough! So much so that I moved from VB to DC and I still drive back down when my Dobie needs a routine vet visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience. Dr Drinkwater and all the vet techs were amazing with my anxious cat; and so helpful in explaining the treatment.
Experiencia fantástica: I have received medical, grooming and boarding services the Sajo Farms Veterinary Pet Hospital for more than 15-years now for my pets and have been very pleased with all services provided. Truly professional doctors and support staff. Strongly recommended. Eight family pets have received services exclusively through Sajo Farms Veterinary Pet Hospital through the years
Experiencia fantástica: A great experience, friendly service and excellent care. Kata is very happy with her veterinary treatment.
Experiencia fantástica: I had a wonderful first time experience with my dog. They were so gentle and patient with my anxious pup (he hates going to the vet) Jessica held him and was so sweet to him when they were doing his bloodwork and it was the first time I wasn’t panicking for him during something like that. I got everything I hoped for out of our visit, great information and care from the doctor and addressed all my concerns. Looking forward to using them as our primary vet long term.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing Staff and Service! First time here and was blown away with how well they treated me and my baby. From online request to in person visit! 100% satisfied Staff treated my baby as if she were their own.
Experiencia fantástica: Love Sajo farms, reasonable cost. They are quick and so good with my dog. She’s been going there since she was a puppy and she’s now almost 6.
Experiencia fantástica: We have been bringing all of out pets to Hope Springs for many years. They are always professional and we always leave confident that our animals have received the best care.
Experiencia fantástica: Hope Springs Veterinary is an exceptional vet clinic. They are professional and easy to work with. They offer grooming and doggie daycare, but I can only vouch for the vets and techs who are sincere, professional, easy to schedule with and reliable with flexible hours. Routine vaccines, wellness, specialty care, older dogs, puppies and everything in between sajo can do it all.
Experiencia fantástica: Knowledgeable, thorough, helpful, kind and empathetic staff. Dr. Dailey, who appears to never need sleep, has spent time as needed to help explain the illness and procedures our 14 year-old senior kitty is enduring. We are extremely grateful to have been acquainted with he and his staff as private individuals, and it echoes all the same phenomenal service and care I've observed as a rescue organization volunteer.
Experiencia negativa: This is exclusively regarding boarding. Their vets are amazing but their boarding is far from being at least good. Pardon my language but I’m really pissed. Since we’ve always had a great experience with the vet team, we ended up choosing to board our dogs with them thinking we were doing the right choice. Sadly and disappointedly, we were not. We gave the boarding team written and verbal instructions to make sure everything was good. Our dogs take supplements to help with their joints (previously discussed with their vet). We dropped them off with individual meal portions, bowls, supplements, toys, and boots for our eldest to make sure he wouldn’t slip on the floor and get hurt. It helps with traction. We went over everything, every detail. We were told to not worry. Well, when we picked them up, they had chosen to ignore the supplements (that have been helping especially my eldest with his joints). They didn’t give them the supplements. Not even a single day. All they had to do was to place on top of their food. That simple. Long story short: they were fast to charge us the bill and rush us out of the door. Not a word about how they did, if everything went well, nothing. We both had to work so we rushed home to drop them off only to find out all their supplements were untouched and a toy missing. They also acted weird, which it NEVER happened when we boarded them at other places over the years since we move a lot. This was the first time boarding them in this area. It was the first and last time boarding them at their vet. If you’re gonna charge people a fortune, at least be honest and get the job done. It sounded to us that whoever was working the boarding shift the days our dogs were under their care, were careless and lazy. It’s beyond me what happened and it makes us question what else went under the radar and how our dogs were really treated when nobody was watching. I like leaving good reviews but this is about my dogs and the experience was way far from being even a low good, and 3 days after picking them up, I’m still not ok with that. Truly disappointed. Once again, this is specifically regarding their boarding facility (Nov. 1 - Nov 6, 2025), not about the vets. Their vets and their team/front desk have always been great.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — and I want to sincerely apologize that your boarding stay fell short of your expectations. We completely understand how upsetting it must have been to find your dogs’ supplements untouched and to feel uncertain about the care they received. Your pets’ health, comfort, and safety should always come first, and it’s clear we missed the mark during their stay.
We truly appreciate your kind words about our veterinary team, and we’re very sorry that our boarding service did not reflect that same standard of care. We are reviewing this situation in detail, including staff communication and adherence to care instructions, to ensure this does not happen again.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve, and we value the trust you’ve placed in us over the years with your pets’ care.
Experiencia fantástica: When I arrived on Monday, the receptionist greeted me with a smile and said, “This must be Fred and Wilma.” They saw Dr. Daily for the first time for their one year checkup. He was very kind and gentle with both puppies. I started taking them to Hope Springs when they were 2 months old. The entire staff has been so friendly during every visit for shots, meds, or doctor visits. My puppies love the attention.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We absolutely love seeing Fred and Wilma—they bring such joy to our team. We’re so glad you had a great first visit with Dr. Dailey and that your experience with us has been consistently positive from the very beginning. It’s a pleasure watching your puppies grow, and we’re honored to be part of their care!

Experiencia fantástica: I am so grateful to the entire team and the doctor who worked on the paperwork so I could fly to the European Union with my cat. I arrived without any problems; everything went as planned. While searching for a veterinarian, I contacted them, and Amarie reviewed my cat's previous vet records the same day I sent them. She explained what was needed to complete the paperwork accurately, answered all my questions, and understood how important it was for me to travel with my cat without any issues. She was always very kind and made the process much easier. All the information she provided helped me understand what I needed to present at the airport. Thank you, Amarie, and the entire team!
Experiencia fantástica: They were very very kind with my kitty cat. They took care of him quickly! Thanks a lot to the team :)
Experiencia fantástica: Full vet services, annual medical care, heart worm and flea and tick prevention shot, all his annual shots, ear cleaning and treatment. All done with very kind and loving care.
Experiencia fantástica: Great experience with Dr. Daily and team! Very compassionate and clinical through!
Experiencia negativa: If you want a veterinarian that never calls you back when requested, this is the place for you. If you want your pet to be seen by multiple vets in one year (they either leave within a few months or they are “traveling” doctors which are not provided sufficient time within the day to provide follow-up regarding your pet’s health), this is the place for you. If you want someone to perform a procedure when not requested, this is the place for you. If you have a pet that has a chronic situation that your the last veterinarian treated and is no longer with the practice (usual practice here) which will require you to see another vet before they prescribe the previously prescribed meds/procedures, this is the place for you. In short the only thing consistent with this practice is the inconsistencies.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you’ve felt frustrated with your experiences. While we understand your concerns, we do want to note that you have continued to trust us with your pet’s care, and we truly appreciate that. Our goal is always to provide consistent, compassionate, and high-quality veterinary care, even as our team grows and changes. We’d be happy to discuss your specific concerns directly to ensure your pet’s care remains seamless and personalized.
Experiencia fantástica: Our pets have been Dr Daly and his practice for 40 years. Sophie was bitten by a copperhead. She was initially treated at urgent care vet but needed followup test and appt w regular vet. Dr Daly made time the very next day to see her himself after blood work and again two weeks later. It's always been obvious how much he loves each of his patients and wants only the best for them and their owners. The rest of his staff shares that same philosophy.
Experiencia fantástica: I've known about this vet for a long time and only heard good things about the practice. We started using them when our previous vets didn't want to deal with our feisty pet. We have now been using them for years, and now on our third pet who is now 10 years old. Their groomer is wonderful and they have extended hours in the evening. We recently had a bit of an emergency and they got us right in to treat our pup. Their prices are very reasonable and I have nothing but good things to say about our visit from start to finish.
Experiencia negativa: 10/09/25 So got my dog spade and a nose surgery. They cut open the dogs nose to help with breathing. 2800 dollars for the experience. Three vists and around 9 hours they were with the dog. Let's do some math. 311 per hour. Is that normal? Thank God my wife is paying for this. Not a happy experience so far. Felt like I was talked down to.
Experiencia fantástica: They are the best and helped my baby Simba. They treated him like he was their own dog. Affordable and very clean.
Experiencia fantástica: Words cannot express how grateful I am for the care and treatment Bitsy received at Hope Springs Veterinary. Dr. Liesenfield and her team went above and beyond, providing exceptional care every step of the way. Because of their compassion and dedication, we will be forever patients of theirs. We were treated with care and kindness from the time we checked in, to seeing the vet tech and Doctor, to check out. Thank you all so much!
Experiencia positiva: They are competent and pleasant. We have used their services for over fifteen years and except for once, we have always been satisfied. They will do their best to ensure your pet has excellent care. If it were possible, I would give them 4.5 stars.
Experiencia fantástica: Our Min Pin Minty loves her visits to Hope Springs Veterinary. Everyone there treats her with so much affection. And they are always kind and considerate to her humans. Dr. Frye is absolutely wonderful. She is so knowledgeable snd caring. When Minty developed leukemia, she gave us the news with great compassion. We know we can ask any questions because she is so approachable. We completely trust her treatment and recommendations for Minty. Not only is Hope Springs Veterinary clean and spacious, it is filled with a wonderful staff and excellent physicians. We greatly appreciate the care Minty has received for the past 13 years and will continue to receive for as long as she is with us.
Experiencia fantástica: Great Customer Service by Hope. She assisted me immediately when I was carrying my kennel to the car. Hope was very pleasant and accommodating.
Experiencia negativa: They gave my dog a terrible post grooming Furunculosis infection. They agreed to take care of the emergency vet bills they caused from negligence. Then didn’t. I took them to court and won a judgment against them. Don’t trust these people. Tiffany is the manager Linda is the board member that criminalized the situation. I was waiting to post until after I won the case in court.
Experiencia negativa: I have brought my pets here for 30 years, but the location has changed since their renovations - there’s no longer the TLC they once had. Very disappointed.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful people took our baby right in and he feels much better
Experiencia fantástica: First time using Hope Springs. I was very pleased with the service, friendliness and most important the Vet’s handling of our busy kitten. The next day follow up was A+!
Experiencia fantástica: Great experience. They were able to get me in fast to see my fur baby because she was having some difficulty but now she is doing much better. Thanks !
Experiencia fantástica: Hope Springs is makes going to the vet a comfort & a breeze… for any breed! Not only are the staff & Vets brilliant & kind but the lobby is setup with thoughtful intention. My boy, Brewfest, loves going here & “pibble smiles” the whole time he’s being seen.
Experiencia fantástica: Liza and I thank God for coming in and my friend for Caring . I love hope springs and they are very caring that's why I love hope Springs , they have very caring veterinarian's and are Concerned in the Follow-up. Thank you very much for being my vet
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat in for his first visit ever to a vet and the nurses and doctor took such good care of him and made sure he wasn’t too stressed out or in any pain. They quickly found out what was wrong with him and then we were able to start treatments the same day, I recommend hope springs to any one who cares for there animals and wants the best care possible
Experiencia fantástica: Brought my new formerly feral cat in for an exam and it was a great experience. Everyone was wonderful and especially the vet who explained everything so that even I could understand. I highly recommend them to everyone.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff at Hope Springs is incredibly kind, informative, and highly professional. If you’re in need of veterinary services in the Hampton Roads area, Hope Springs is the place to go!
Experiencia fantástica: My dog loves the attention & loves he gets when we go
Experiencia fantástica: The doctor and all the staff were very kind and helpful. I know my Katie left feeling so much better.
Experiencia fantástica: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Took Sasha, my 14 year old Jack Russell/Border Collie mix and my 4-year old nephew for Sasha's first appointment. My first impression of the lobby was that it was so clean, quiet, and inviting. There were a few dogs, but everyone kept their distance and it was a very positive experience. My dog is somewhat dog reactive, so I'm always careful not to take her places where the dogs are jammed into a small area. The lobby is huge - so nobody had to be on top of anyone else. The appointment was great. The tech was very supportive, asking a lot of questions. I told her about Sasha's reactivity, so she carried her carefully back for her bloodwork. The vet was wonderful, helping me figure out what I needed to do for her, and guiding me to what was best for my girl. They were all very good with my nephew who brought spiderman. They engaged with him, let him talk (minimally of course) but made it a positive experience for all of us. The experience was so great that my sister is now moving her 3 animals over there as well. HIGHLY recommend them. Their prices are very reasonable, and their care is top notch!
Experiencia fantástica: Great experience at this vet. We have had two great docs for our girls and our vet tech has been just as awesome. Great care for our dogos, highly recommend. Plus they have a nice facility and friendly staff.
Experiencia negativa: We had a kitten that was fading. We were 5 hours from home and knew he wouldn’t make it. They turned us away because they didn't have an appointment slot available. Even though the kitten was dying. We managed to get him to an emergency vet on the way i had to do cpr on him. They diagnosed him with fading kitten syndrome. After several hours and the vet giving him several treatments and him not improving . They told is that the best thing would be to euthanize him. Obviously we are devastated . But the people at Hope Springs were going to let him just die
We are truly sorry to hear about the heartbreaking experience you had with your kitten. Losing a pet, especially under such painful circumstances, is devastating, and our hearts go out to you.
At Hope Springs, we deeply care about the well-being of all animals, and it is never our intention to turn away a pet in need. However, we are not an emergency facility and, in certain cases, may not have the staff or resources available to provide the immediate critical care that a situation like yours required. We understand how difficult it must have been to be far from home and facing such a serious crisis, and we regret that we were not able to assist you directly in that moment.
We’re relieved to hear that you were able to find an emergency vet to provide care and that you fought so hard to help your kitten. Please know that your loss is not taken lightly, and we are sincerely sorry for the pain you’ve endured.

Experiencia fantástica: Had great detailed explanations for all my questions, Bageira seemed comfortable ( minus ) the flooring haha he’s a baby , the facility was clean and the staff were amazing.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re glad to hear that all your questions were answered thoroughly and that Bageira felt comfortable with us—minus the floors (we totally understand!). We’re so happy you had a positive experience, and we’ll be sure to share your kind words with the team. Looking forward to seeing you both again soon!
Experiencia fantástica: I was pleased with the experience at Hope Springs. They make their visitors, both dog and owners feel welcome and well cared for. My dog Fiona said she would recommend them!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you and Fiona felt welcome and well cared for during your visit to Hope Springs. Our team always strives to create a positive experience for both pets and their people, and it means a lot to know we hit the mark. Give Fiona some extra belly rubs from us—her recommendation means the world!
Experiencia negativa: Do not get your animal groomed here. My dog caught a bacteria and I took him to the veterinarian. This was one day after bringing my dog to Hope springs vet. The veterinarian said that the most common cause for this bacteria is grooming facilities and that it shows up within 24 to 48 hours. I went back and told Hope Springs Vet that they gave my dog a disease & the vet bill was $870. They told me they could not help me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. At Hope Springs, we’re dedicated to ensuring every pet’s safety and well-being. However, after thoroughly reviewing our records, we could not locate a client or grooming appointment under your name, nor do we have any record of a case matching this description.
Understanding who you are and the specifics of your experience will help us investigate further. Please contact our management team so we can investigate this matter further. Our goal is always to provide the highest level of care, and we’re committed to addressing any concerns brought to our attention.

The Hope Springs Veterinary Team
Experiencia fantástica: Always professional. My little lady wasn’t feeling well. The staff answered my questions and was able to see her quickly.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re glad we could be there for your little lady when she wasn’t feeling her best. It’s always our goal to provide prompt, professional care and peace of mind for both pets and their people. We hope she’s feeling much better, and we’re here anytime you need us!
Experiencia negativa: They'll perform the wrong thing on your animal and then make you come back for the correct thing. They'll forget to charge you for something then a year or more later realize what they did and bill you for it. Maybe they just have too much going on to really pay attention. I dunno. I won't be back. After reading quite a few other reviews I see they respond a lot and never take responsibly for anything that's not right. I should have read those first and never gone there to begin with.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience with us was not a positive one. We strive to provide the highest quality of care and service, and it’s clear we fell short in your case.
Regarding billing or service concerns, we always aim to communicate clearly and address any issues promptly. If something was missed or not done to your satisfaction, we understand how frustrating that can be and would have welcomed the opportunity to correct it at the time.
We take all feedback seriously and use it to improve. While we do respond to reviews to provide clarity or context, we also take responsibility when we make mistakes—because our goal is always to learn and do better.
We wish you and your pet the very best going forward.
Experiencia fantástica: I met Dr. Frye this week when I had a concern with my 18 year old cat Rocky. She was wonderful with the cat and the human. I was very happy with the care she provided and Rocky is healing. I’m happy to recommend Dr. Frey and Hope Springs veterinary.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you and Rocky had a positive experience with Dr. Frye—she’ll be thrilled to hear your feedback. It means a lot to know Rocky is healing and that you felt supported throughout his care. We’re honored to be part of his journey and appreciate your recommendation!

Experiencia negativa: I'm very disappointed I've been going there for over 10 years and they've been very unfair with their charges plus the vet gave my dying dog a rabies shot today because it's a state mandate but not for a dying dog! Plus they told me they weren't going to charge me for the ultrasound (technician told me, as I made it very clear that I had a credit limit amount that I needed to stick to)but then they changed their story, as I specifically told them I had a limit to spend. Very disappointed!!! Then they came after me like the mafia for the money!! I had to have a friend help pay and if she doesn't pay they're going to bring me to collections tomorrow morning! Very sad!
We’re very sorry to hear that you left feeling this way, especially after being a client for so many years. We understand how emotional and difficult it is to care for a beloved pet during their final days, and we truly empathize with your situation.
That said, we do feel it’s important to clarify a few points for accuracy.
First, regarding the rabies vaccine: In accordance with state law, we are required to administer a current rabies vaccination before certain procedures unless there is a documented medical reason not to. In this case, the vaccine was given based on the clinical judgment of the veterinarian after a thorough assessment. We never intend to add to an already difficult situation, and we regret if this was not clearly explained at the time.
Second, concerning the charges for the ultrasound: Our records and communication show that the ultrasound was discussed as a part of your pet’s diagnostic care, and at no time was it promised free of charge by our staff or technicians. We do our best to accommodate budget concerns whenever possible, but we also have a responsibility to provide the medical care that your pet needs and to be transparent about the associated costs.
Finally, regarding the payment process: We never “come after” anyone for money, and we’re saddened by that characterization. Like most medical offices, we do have billing policies in place, and we make every effort to work with clients on payment arrangements when needed. If a balance remains unpaid and no communication is received, we may eventually need to involve outside billing services—but we always make multiple attempts to resolve things directly and respectfully first.
We would still welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to clarify any remaining concerns. We’ve cared deeply for your pet over the years, and we remain committed to providing fair and compassionate service to all our clients—even during the most difficult times.
Sincerely,
Hope Springs Veterinary
Experiencia fantástica: Great service and people Had to get a rabies vaccine and chipped. First place had a wait of over a month. This place saw the doggo on two days. The inside is big and super clean. The rooms are as well. The people are very professional yet down to earth and they listen to your concerns. It’s like talking to your neighbor, if you do that still. And they do not try to over sell you on anything. Truly a first clave place with first class people.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous review! We’re thrilled we could get you guys seen quickly and that you felt comfortable and well cared for. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, clean environment where you feel heard—just like chatting with a good neighbor (yes, we still do that!). We’re so glad that came through. Looking forward to seeing you both again!

Experiencia negativa: A few months ago I called because my cat, who had regularly been seen at this location was exhibiting signs of a u t i. When I tried to get her an appointment there was no availability so I was referred to an emergency vet. The next day I missed a phone call, at first I thought they might be contacting me to see how my cat was doing because that was the type of care was accustomed to receiving from this office But instead, I was met with a demand of funds that they claim I was not charged for on a previous visit. She said she would email backup of the charge but all I received was a invoice for the fee. It was my intention to speak someone to get some more clarification on what this fee was that they had "forgot" to charge me however my husband decided to stop by on my behalf to discuss it with them on his way home from work. They were very rude and basically said that you cannot speak too anyone else about this matter and that you can either pay the bill, or it will go to collections. Unfortunately, he paid it to be done with them so my concerns regarding this prior appointment were never heard. My cat had some blood work done and when the lab received it, they said they could not use the sample that they provided and the vet l instructed me to bring my cat in again for a new blood sample. When I did they took a urine sample instead so I was called back a third time to have correct sample taken causeing undue stress on my Cat. I feel that this random charge was not legit. I dont know why we were charged extra but I do know we will never recommend them to any one again. I don't know if they've been taken over by some new management or something but the quality of service they provide has greatly declined.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the stress you and your cat have been through—no pet parent should ever feel overwhelmed or unheard when trying to get care for their animal.
That said, after carefully reviewing our records, we have not been able to locate an account or visit history that matches the details provided in your review. It’s possible there may be some confusion with another veterinary facility, and we’d really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can clarify any mix-up and ensure this matter is properly addressed.
At Hope Springs, we strive to provide compassionate, transparent care and communication at every step, and if there’s ever a concern about billing, services, or patient experience, we take it seriously and want to resolve it directly and fairly.
Please feel free to contact our Hospital Administrator at 757-464-6009 so we can verify the details and work with you to clear up any misunderstanding.
Sincerely,
Hope Springs Veterinary
Experiencia negativa: Being in the vet field for over 10+ years, I had high hopes for the team at hope springs however, a year later, I’m still disappointed with the ear crop services I paid for. I brought my Giant Schnauzer pup in to have his ears cropped to potentially show him, even sent in reference photos twice via email and showed them again at drop off. Dr Dailey did the surgery and on pick up day, I asked to see his ears before they posted them and immediately knew his ears weren’t cut right. One was longer, cut different, and when I mentioned this, the practice manager (brown hair, rounder figure, about 5’5/6) immediately came out her office and in a condescending tone stated “it’s fine, just give it time to allow swelling to go down. All that will go down and smooth out” Again, I mentioned to her I worked in veterinary surgery and have seen plenty of ear crops done and his ears weren’t done right. The reason for going to this practice was because the doc I worked under was aging and no longer able to do surgery. After the three initial postings, I continued driving from NN to VA Beach twice a week for about ~2 months, paying for each posting to show good faith that again, his ears were not done properly. I had follow up visits to re measure the ears and on recording, it was stated that one ear measured 4 and the other ~4.25. Doc then realized what he said and went to “remeasure” the ear, and stated “oh they’re both 4. We don’t really make mistakes with these things” as he shoved the measuring stick into my pups ears. He also recommended that I could “shape” the ear with haircuts. After going back and forth for months, they sent me an estimate to try and salvage the ear by cutting into and in layman’s terms, folding/pinching it at the base to make the ear stand. That would have cost me another $5-700. I asked them why would I be charged again after paying for the surgery+ extra postings after the initial 3 when the ear is clearly not cut properly. Not even including the gas it took to drive 1hr during rush hour each way. I even took it an extra step to make sure I wasn’t being “crazy” and asked my pups dog trainer (registered with AKC, Merrimac Dog Training Club), my old vet, and two groomers (one mobile and one in store), and they were all in agreement that the ear wasn’t done properly and one mentioned that the doc is aging and that could have been part of the issue. The amount of scar tissue that formed on the ear, that I was told “would smooth out” seems to also play a part in this situation as well. Now, as my pup turns a year old in a few days (April 27th) and my consistent postings, that doc himself even complimented on as there was no irritation/hair fall out during the follow up visits, the ear still flops over. I had hoped for a good experience with them, however I’m just left disappointed. I was hoping they’d make it right by fixing the ear but it seems every time I reached out, I was spending more and more without getting any results. Proceed with caution. I included photos from the day we last visited and photos after getting groomed by the mobile groomer. Mobile groomer cut his ear hair down to see if that would help it stand, but as you can see, it did not help at all. #earcrop
We’re sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with your experience and disappointed that after a year of care, communication, and multiple follow-up visits, you still feel this way.
At Hope Springs, we take great pride in the surgical procedures we offer, including cosmetic ear surgeries, and our team makes every effort to thoroughly discuss expectations, surgical outcomes, and aftercare with each client before and after surgery. We recognize that cosmetic procedures like cosmetic ear surgery are highly subjective and can vary based on breed standards, anatomy, and individual healing.
We want to be clear that we followed our full protocol throughout your pet’s care, including using the reference photos you provided, conducting all post-op appointments as advised, and offering continued support and additional posting when requested. Measurements were discussed transparently during visits, and alternative surgical options were shared only after healing and ear structure made it clear that additional correction would be needed for the desired cosmetic result—not because of surgical error.
We understand this result may not have met your personal expectations, but our team acted in good faith at every stage. If you have further concerns or would like to continue this conversation privately, we’re more than happy to speak directly.

Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic vets and staff. Bright, clean, cheerful environment. They are wonderful for providing excellent care for rescue cats that are fostered by a cat rescue group.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re proud to support rescue organizations and the incredible work they do. It’s our privilege to care for these deserving cats, and we’re so glad you’ve felt welcomed and supported in our environment. We appreciate all that you do, too!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Frye of Hope Springs Veterinary at Sajo Farm has been our border collie’s doctor since he was a puppy. She and all her staff are wonderful to work with. They are very caring which is evident after every visit when they text to see how Jax is doing. If I say anything other than well, they promptly call to gather more information and advise what we should do. You can’t ask for better.
Experiencia negativa: Not military friendly. We have had only one time that we had to reschedule an appointment in less than 24 hours due to being held at work. We now for every appointment have to pay half of the deposit upfront. I understand this if someone did it two or three more times but one time is ridiculous. There should at least be a one time grace allowed, sometimes unexpected circumstances come up especially in the military. Their vets are good for the most part but unfortunately we will be changing vets.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any frustration you’ve experienced regarding our appointment policies. We understand the challenges that come with unpredictable nature of military schedules, and we truly appreciate your service.
The decision to request a deposit upfront was made to help ensure fairness to all of our clients, and while we do understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, we aim to create a system that works well for everyone. We are glad to hear that you’ve had positive experiences with our veterinary team, and we truly value your feedback. Should you decide to return, we will be happy to discuss how we can accommodate your needs in the future.
Thank you again for your review, and we wish you all the best
Experiencia fantástica: We have been clients of this vet practice for years. All of the vets and other staff are top-notch! They listen to our concerns and work with each animal based on their individual personalities. This is our fourth dog whom we take to Hope Springs at Sajo Farm. Very happy!
Experiencia fantástica: This was Lady's first visit. The staff here is so wonderful and took their time with her. She took her first shots like a champion
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. frye was great. Addressed all my concerns. I got an appointment within 24 hours of calling. Then, I got my cats blood work results within 24 hours.
Experiencia fantástica: First visit with my mutt & they were phenomenal. Friendly staff & accommodating to my dog’s needs. Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful pet care. Veterinarians and staff are very compassinate and knowledgeable. Tucker loves visiting everyone there.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Drinkwater Explained the problems our newly adopted dog has and answered our questions. She took her time with us and was very thorough A+
Experiencia fantástica: Really nice facility and even better staff! We drive past numerous other vets to visit these amazing folks. They have always taken great care of our pups.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Fry was so sweet and really broke down everything so I could understand exactly what was going on with my cat. She called and gave me updates while he stayed overnight. The late night technician texted me and would give me updates as well. I really appreciated the entire staff for their help ♡
Experiencia positiva: I have gone to this practice for several years with my Siberian Kita. I have always had a good experience. The receptionist were great. The Vet my be knowledgeable but his manner in the exam room had left me upset and frustrated. He wanted to run a lot of blood tests and told me that he couldn't say anything without test results. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for years. and developed a care plan including possible diagnoses and tests needed to confirm the diagnosis. I would never say I don't know without test. I understand I may need to run tests but I don't want to do them without talking about what he may looking for. Then he charged me for high level office visit. Really, he barely said much outside of trying to make me feel bad. I really love the clinic but the DVM we saw, I would never see again.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was very courteous and professional. Dr Frye was so kind to my Flashie . An excellent experience.
Experiencia fantástica: I don’t even know where to start. My Lad is not an established patient, but when he got sick while we were traveling, they treated him like he was the most important pup in the world. I had stopped at an emergency vet in another city, they diagnosed him and advised they were leaning towards wanting to keep him overnight. I explained we were not local and still 6 hours from home and they gave me things to try at home. The next morning he was worse, I could not get him to take his meds and it wasn’t good. I called Hope Springs and they gave me a same day appointment, checked him out and looking at the test results from the previous day, they recommended keeping him for treatment. I agreed and they took great care of him. I was able to stop in and visit him and after 2 days he is home. Still not 100%, but well on his way to being there. Every single person I spoke to was nothing short of incredible. These folks are well trained and caring, the medical staff… saved my little guy and let’s face it, THAT is what matters!
Experiencia fantástica: We had a great experience with Hope Springs for our recent flea adventure! No judgement, just great service! Life happens and all the vets I’ve worked with at Hope Springs just love on your pet and want what’s best for them!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Denmark was thorough and informative. The pups had a great experience.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone here is great, and they have always taken excellent care of my dogs. They vets and staff seem to genuinely care about their health and well being. The office is very clean and modern, and I love that they have things like coffee and snacks in the waiting room.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Drinkwater is wonderful!!! I brought my three dogs in for care at once so this review is an X3! Dr. Drinkwater is extremely thorough and knowledgeable as well as gentle and caring with my pups. She took the time to make sure I had what I needed to continue care at home for my pets, even a home call after I left to make sure I had what I needed. A gem!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Drinkwater and the other staff were amazing and didn't try to upsell us on anything that wasn't needed. We will continue to bring our B.M.O. baby there for all of his vet visits for the rest of his kitty life, and know he'll be getting great care! THANK YOU ALL FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!
Experiencia fantástica: Welcoming clean environment. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Addressed all concerns and questions.
Experiencia fantástica: Hope Springs has been taking care of my dogs since 2016. We started at the Great Bridge location. After moving to Virginia Beach, we moved over to Sajo Farms on Diamond Springs. All of the doctors and techs have been extremely capable, caring, and sensitive. I had two elderly dogs (a labrador and a rat terrier) who had multiple health issues before passing over the rainbow bridge. Hope Springs was incredible when it was time for their final visits. Their kindness and patience will never be forgotten. I then got an 8-week old goldendoodle and rescued a 1-year old mini-poodle. The goldendoodle had a bad reaction to a rabies vaccine. And the mini-poodle had a spinal stroke. I've never experienced either of these situations before, but Hope Springs vets knew exactly what to do. My babies were able to recover as quickly as possible. I'm sure there are other good vets around here, but I have no reason and no desire to leave a good thing. I highly recommend all of the Hope Springs locations.
Experiencia fantástica: I can rest easy on my vacations knowing that my Gracie girl is being well taken care of by the staff at Sajo!
Experiencia fantástica: 5 Stars not to the Vet but to the front desk and the nurses that helped me and Breezy . Breezy is my service dog and he’s is doing so much better not thanks to the Vet but to the Nurses that were there . They can not say thank you enough.
Experiencia negativa: I went here due to an emergency with my pet, he needed a surgery and was hospitalized for 3 days. After being hospitalized, I took him back for a grooming and a check up appointment a few months after surgery. When speaking to the staff at the grooming facility, the person checking me in stated that my pet needed some shots before I could get him groomed. I reassured her that he is up to date on vaccinations and in the past, he was vaccinated more than once with the same vaccine, so I wanted to ensure I knew what kind of vaccines he needed. The lady helping me, which actually was the grooming facility manager, proceeded to tell me “Well, you don’t have to get your pet serviced here, you can get him serviced elsewhere”.. I proceeded to tell her “No, he will be serviced here, I would just like to know what vaccines he will be getting”.. she then proceeded to be rude again & I asked for someone else to finish assisting me. I asked the lady to ensure that when my pet was ready to be picked up, that I received a phone call. I went to go pick up my pet and was met with no information regarding how the appointment went and whether he is doing better post surgery. They were able to get in touch with the doctor, she spoke to me while out rock climbing and proceeded to tell me that she told someone to make sure they gave me a call to update me that bloodwork would be back on Monday & that she would speak to me then.. although no one did ! I asked to speak with the manager specifically about the grooming by incident and received a phone call from a “Tiffany Schaffer”. I proceeded to explain what occurred with this very rude & disrespectful worker & she proceeded to cut me off while I was talking, to try and prove whatever point she was trying to make. She was not interested in taking the time out to consider the negative feedback to correct her employee & ensure overall professional business! She was solely interested in proving her point, not letting me talk, and making the decision to discharge me from the practice entirely. I’ve had two different mishaps before that and I was willing to look over them, but after this last mishap.. I was very disappointed and wanted some reassurance from the person in charge that what occurred would not happen again ! Instead, the manager of this local got very hostile with me, very rude, talked over me the entire time, and furthermore discharged me from the practice because she felt like it. So unprofessional!!! At the end of the day, a stellar business always starts with the management so it seems as though they need to do some moving around so that they can have a manager with actual customer service skills ! The manager should take some classes on customer service and professional development so this business can actually thrive because from the looks of it, she seems to be a common factor. Do NOT go here. On top of my pet possibly not being okay after almost dying due to a horrible infection, after picking my pet up from the groomers, he was so shook !!! He looked as if he was being tormented all day. I’ve never seen my pet that way after leaving the groomers, he was so scared, literally shaking !!!!!! Furthermore, his hair was very matted up & dry. Like, did they even groom him ?? Save yourself some $$$ & go elsewhere.
Experiencia fantástica: Best Vet ever. I have been taking my pets there for over 30 years. I have shed tears over the pets I lost and they are so loving and caring. I now have a puppy now 2 years old and they have been through every stage of his life. ♥️♥️
Experiencia fantástica: A great place to take your pet for a checkup or get shots or even get their nails clipped. This place is very clean. They have wonderful hours Thank you for caring about my baby.
Experiencia positiva: Such a nice office. Staff was pleasant. Had a little bit of a wait for our appointment but over all a great experience. Definitely would recommend. Best we have found in our area.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff were amazing! Got my baby taken care of quickly. The pricing was a bit high but not terrible. But I absolutely love how they took care of not only my baby but my kids too. Providing them with cold waters.
Experiencia fantástica: Best vet experience ever! Highly recommend this place! My puppy is now full of energy all my concerns were answered! The price is beyond reasonable! Got extra info too about my dog and the next steps for his journey!
Experiencia fantástica: All we can say is thank you for caring about Lhasa ❣ We know you did the best for him.
Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I took our king German shepherd Koda to hope springs veterinarian at sajo farms for ear infection. They were very gentle with his ears and very informative. Took very good care of him especially Dr frye she was just wonderful with him. Will definitely recommend this place to any and all . Prices very reasonable for the care they give.
Experiencia fantástica: My puppy Migo has been seen by hope Springs at Sajo Farm and everything has been smooth and everyone there is very nice. The office is very clean and when he ever had an accident, they were very swift to pick it up without any hesitation and with great attitude. He recently had his ears cropped and, Dr. Daly who he initially saw for preop called and spoke with me about the success. Everything has been so far so good. . .☺️
Experiencia fantástica: We haven’t been to the Vet in a while. Our dog had a good experience with his check up. Both the Veterinarian and Tech were patient , kind , and gentle . They were very informative with our questions answered and gave us some insight on our daily care plan for our dog .
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely the best veterinary center I’ve ever been to after many years of having dogs. Beautiful and clean modern facility and every person there was exceptional. Our vet, Dr Dewie, was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. She spent as much time as I needed with my questions and reservations from past unpleasant experiences. So very happy to have discovered Hope Springs!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Ellie and Mommy both love our doctor and all the assistances. Our family has used this vet. Since the seventies. Thank you all for taking excellent care of three big dogs and now my Bichon Ellie. Love you all ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog in for an arthritic back and a growth on his leg. He was in pain and lethargic. They ran tests, put him on a plan, and he is now getting his spunk back thanks to the great staff and wisdom of Dr. Frye. Between a game plan and medication, Mylo is feeling and doing better. He will never heal, but for a dog pushing 11, he's at his best. Thanks to the great folks at Hope Springs Sajo!
Experiencia fantástica: The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Had a little emergency with my dog and they gave us an appointment within a few hours. Almost no waiting for the doctor. Detailed explanations. No unnecessary test or anything like that. I only can recommend this office.
Experiencia fantástica: They are sweet clean prompt considerate very hospitality oriented. They keep your pets best health in mind highly recommend insurance to go with quality care. They see your fur babies like family and understand how important they are to you and yours. Expect clear precise professionalism here. They also keep up with prescription reminders for your pets super helpful.
Experiencia negativa: The staff is great. But unfortunately we took our cats here for their checkup today and one of our cat carriers go soaked in dog pee when we set the carrier on the couch in the doctors office. We had to throw away this brand new $50 carrier because there was no way to get the smell out. Not to mention the smell left in my husbands car on the seat from the dog pee soaked carrier. There was also a huge dog drool puddle on the couch in the waiting room. This place isn’t as clean as it used to be. We also had to wait 30 minutes past our appointment time to be seen. What’s the point of having an appointment? Very upset about this visit. Sorry to say I won’t be retuning to Hope Springs Vet.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our ferret Tita for vaccines, yearly check-ups, and boarding, the staff is so friendly and my pet was spoiled!! Tita loves to go to see you all!! We love this place.
Experiencia fantástica: Always friendly and professional. Beautiful facility. We're always comfortable and assured our babies are receiving the best care when bringing them to Sajo Farms @ Diamond Springs.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Dailey was really informative and very good with Cochise. We appreciate him and look forward to Cochise's ear cropping surgery.
Experiencia negativa: We took our dog Bella her to have a Rhinoscopy. We were initially pleased with this office. However, after agreeing to get a Rhinoscopy (which was the reason we came to this vet / recommended from My vet who doesn’t do them) and paying a down payment my wife goes to drop the dog off for the procedure. They go on to convince her that the dogs needs a CT scan instead and essentially say that the 1st vet she saw at the office doesn’t do these procedures. Now after being persuaded into an unnecessary CT scan our dog continues to be sick and still needs a Rhinoscopy. Be careful of who you trust with your pets.
Experiencia fantástica: Affordable, clean, and very welcoming. They took great care to my new little one, and I will keep them on speed dial
