Experiencia negativa: I tried to make an appointment using the online scheduling tool, my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled without asking. Then, I receive a text message stating more information is needed by noon or it will be assumed the appointment is cancelled, again. What kind of vet clinic is this? The vets may be great, but they are only as good as the office staff. I don't appreciate the lack of care, the strange hostage demand like text message, or the feeling of being just a number. I will take all of my animals elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: All of the staff from the receptionist to the techs were super friendly and helpful without talking down to you. They got us in and out of our appointment very quickly and helped clean up my cat carrier and gave me an extra pee pad for in it.

Experiencia positiva: I'm really disappointed in the last few visits that I've had. I've been taking my pets since 2021 and have always felt that my pets were thoroughly taken care of. My dog has had fleas twice, and both times the lack of the vet's thoroughness has led to greater problems. The first time, I didn't realize my dog had fleas and had taken her in for skin irritation. The vet did not inspect for fleas and instead misdiagnosed it as allergies and overprescribed, giving me 3 different medications (the apoquil helped, but the other stuff was unpleasant and ineffective). By the time I realized it was fleas, the cat had already gotten fleas and worms from it and it took weeks to get under control. This time, I knew when she started itching to check for fleas and found them, she had her annual exam coming up so it was good timing. I specifically asked the vet for the flea and deworming meds we got last time and the vet barely acknowledged my request. I had to call 2 separate times to get any prescriptions and they still didn't get me everything I asked for. Their delays cost me a lot of money because I had to switch vets, get the house fumigated, and launder everything for weeks. Between haggling over the phone to get the treatments my pet needed, having to call a new vet, and everything else, it took almost 2 months to get everything under control- twice as long as it should have taken. The lack of professionalism and thoroughness was really upsetting and surprising considering how much they have previously overprescribed. Now several weeks later, the same vet who ignored my requests for dewormer and flea killing meds also forgot to give my dog her bordatella vaccine and I have to go back. This has been a very frustrating 2+ months for me and my animals are the ones who had to suffer the consequences most of all.

Experiencia fantástica: We've taken Blue to D&C since we got him over 15 years ago. Now as a senior dog of 16.5 years, they still treat him well and have been part of his longevity. All the staff visibly care about every animal in their care.

Experiencia negativa: Let me preface by saying that our animals have always been up to date on veterinary care. Recently found a flea on our dog and realized we were out of Nexguard. Called to get her prescription re-filled which they said they wouldn't do without at least a heartworm test. She had a heartworm test last year. She's on heartworm medication monthly. They would rather her have a full blown flea infestation than lose out on the $150 test? The staff is nice, but these are not policies that center the wellbeing of the animal. They want to run senior tests before they'll treat her fleas. Well, sorry. Can't afford that right now. I'll order from Chewy and hope for the best. Oh, and will absolutely be finding a new doctor for our three pets. I know that they're all the same, but I just can't walk in there again after that conversation. My dog is 9, large breed. We found her on the side of the road eight years ago, severely abused. Cost of living has changed greatly in the past decade. There's no way we can afford extending-life care for her, all of the senior tests, etc. So, yeah. If you have an unlimited budget, the staff is friendly and easy-going. If you're just scraping by and trying to do your best for your pets, go elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: I almost hesitate to give Doctor Gerlach all the praise he deserves because I don't want him to be any less available than he is...He has been all around wonderful with my dog and cats. One of whom is "feles non grata" in some other local establishments. Herbie weighs in at 20 pounds, he has a formidable growl that he will back up if provoked. He's a Philadelphia Eagles fan, need I say more?

I wouldn't wish the experience I just had there on anyone. UPDATE: The current owner's need to try and mitigate this review with boilerplate spcial media replies doesn't change the fact that the standard of professional behavior has fallen far short of the previous owners and staff. My review stands. I no longer recommend this place of business.

Experiencia negativa: I've been to hospitals on four continents and it's the first one I've ever encountered that doesn't accept walk-ins. The receptionist just handed me a sheet of other facilities I could check out to get my pet seen at today. Then got annoyed when I asked which ones except walk-ins because it doesn't say on the sheet. She rudely sneered that if it says Urgent Care they accept walk-ins. I bit my tongue rather than point out they claim to be a hospital but don't accept them. I wouldn't trust any of the personnel who work there and will be taking all future business elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: This is an amazing place. I recently moved to the area, and my dog gets very anxious at the vet's. Dr. Bettencourt was very patient and examined my dog where she felt most comfortable. I would definitely recommend this vet practice!

Experiencia negativa: At first I was somewhat pleased but lately I have been disappointed . Certain things that were vital in a urinalysis was excluded and when I asked I was told it wasn’t necessary but it was especially when looking at factors concerning the kidneys. A internal specialist I went to see also questioned that. And one of my dogs were labeled as disruptive as he excessively barks. As a pet parent I was very disturbed. My baby barks excessively because he has anxiety and he’s very afraid. No other vet practice has ever labeled my dog as such. It’s very upsetting. A vet practice should show compassion and that includes the vets and the staff. Animals that come in to be seen are not just a number or a profit. They are living creatures that feel just like humans.

Experiencia positiva: Efficient, professional and kind! They seemed short staffed. My appointment was for 3pm and were seen about 40 minutes late. Plus folks came in after me and were seen before me. Could be they had appointments with the VET vice VET Tech. Overall, I like the clinic and staff.

Experiencia fantástica: Good friendly staff, doctors, technicians. Fairly on time, as our fur babies can't talk, it's difficult for staff to be perfectly on time. Doctors are not eager to jump on surgery or medicine as a first alternative to problems, a plus for me and my fur baby. Thourough exams by the vets, so no unnecessary procedures are done.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been bringing my pets to this practice for many years, perhaps more than 40. We saw Dr. Hallstrom until he retired, and now we usually see Dr. Gerlach. But Dr G had no openings this time, and I wanted my kitten Choccy to be seen right away. So they scheduled us for Dr. Stempien instead. I did not know her at all, but she was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, and I was pleased to begin to know her. I also met Gabe, an assistant, for the first time, and was very impressed with his professionalism and courtesy. I miss Dr. H, and was disappointed to not be able to see Dr. G, but Dr S and Gabe both seem to be following in their footsteps. 09-23-2023 Dr. G is still booked up, but Choccy (my 1yo chocolate Cornish Rex spay) and I saw Dr. Hayes on 09/21 for a Rabies annual vax plus FCRV(?) and annual wellness exam. Dr. Hayes was very gentle and conversational with Choccy, and saw a lot of gingivitis, which didn't surprise me. She has had halitosis since the day I brought her home. Dr. H recommended a dental, with which I concurred, so we scheduled that for 10/19, and she had her pre-surgery bloodwork while we were there. It was excellent, and we will proceed as planned. This experience was totally in-line with all my previous visits with my pets, and I remain totally satisfied with Dog and Cat!

Experiencia fantástica: Dog & Cat Hospital saved my dogs life. When another Hospital quoted 8k for emergency surgery, we thought that was the day we were putting our dog down. But we made one last call and Dog & Cat Hospital were able to drastically reduce the cost and proceeded to complete the surgery the same day. Or little pup is healing nicely and we are so very thankful.

Experiencia fantástica: Dog & Cat has been our primary vet for the past 4 years. While there have been times I've been frustrated we couldn't get our dog in to be seen for sick day/ emergencies, we've generally been happy with the care our dog has received at Dog & Cat. We recently took our poodle there after she vomited a chunk of rubber mulch. Concerned there could be more, we thought it wise to have her checked out. We were worked in and had her x rayed, some other meds for her tummy and testing to rule out other things (optional, we chose to do it). It wasn't cheap, but we were pleased with the service and generally are.

Experiencia fantástica: Dog & Cat is always so good to my pups. This past week my 13 1/2 year old dachshund had her annual check up and I had some concerns about her no longer using her back legs. She started getting wobbly back in February, but over the last couple of weeks it just got worse. I didn’t want her dragging herself around! Well, the doctor made a plan for pain and steroid treatment over the next two weeks. The next morning Molly was crying, no matter what I did to help her. I went to work and I checked the camera to hear her crying every time I did. I left work and the only way she stopped crying was if I was holding her. Dog & Cat called and I told the doctor everything and unfortunately we agreed it was time to take Molly’s pain away. My son and I took her up there and we were almost immediately taken back to a private room. We talked about the next steps and we were given time to say goodbye. We chose to stay in the room when the doctor came back in to administer the medication. Seconds after the Propofol was issued Molly laid her head down and went to sleep. The other meds kicked in and then she was gone. It was an incredibly difficult but also beautiful because I know I was the last face she saw. Losing Molly just a year and a half after adopting her has been so difficult, but I know she’s no longer in pain. The compassion showed by Dog & Cat made the logistics of getting everything done so much easier. I will always use them for all of my veterinary needs. Your animals are in good hands.

Experiencia negativa: My experience was great—until I found out I was no longer the primary on my own service animal’s account. No phone call. No email. No heads-up. Just me calling to make changes for my emotional support animal and being told, “Sorry, you’ll have to ask someone else first.” Imagine being told you don’t have the authority to make decisions for the animal that supports your mental health because someone else—a financially comfortable white man—was quietly given control of the account. When I asked how this happened, the lies came fast and loose: • “It was just for billing simplicity.” • “We don’t know how it got changed.” • “Well… Mr. ******* said it was okay for you to have your own account.” So I need his permission to access my own dog’s file now? That’s what we’re doing? This isn’t just about Ares. It’s about how easily an institution can erase the person actually doing the caregiving—especially when money and race enter the picture. They handed over control of my service animal’s medical decisions without my consent, then scrambled to explain it away. This clinic may smile at you at the front desk—but remember: when it comes down to it, they’ll side with whoever signs the bigger check.

Experiencia fantástica: We decided to change vet clinics because we were not happy where we were. Always scary because our pets are our babies. Our initial experience was great! All the staff were wonderful and kind. So happy we made the change and so is my pet. Although he doesn’t like going to the vet, he seemed less anxious. That in itself is so important! Our most recent visit was a sick visit, unfortunately , but the staff was so accommodating and we were able to see Dr Gerlach. He has the BEST bedside manner. We love Dog & Cat Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: They were quick but still very detailed oriented. This was important to me because the longer my cat is at a Vet the more stressed they get with the other animals around. They also ended up cost a good amount less that I thought they would and the Dr. called me the next day with all of the blood work results for my little girl just as he said he would.

No matter how busy they are, and they can get VERY busy (because they’re so darn good), they always give our animals the most amazing care and attention we could ask for. While we have seen Dr. Gerlac, Dr. Cirignani, and others, who are all WONDERFUL vets, lately we have been seeing Dr. Hayes, especially for our dog Winston. He has had quite a few health problems that have been challenging, to say the least. Thankfully, Dr. Hayes has worked incredibly hard in to trying to diagnose his issues all the while showing an infinite amount of compassion and kindness along the way. She is an absolutely brilliant veterinarian with a heart of gold! I could spend an eternity writing about the decades of amazing service. Instead, I will simply say that we are truly blessed to have such incredible veterinary care for our four pawed children and we could not be happier with the service provided to us from ALL of the staff at Dog & Cat Hospital. (A special thanks to the vet techs and vet assistants too. Your hard work, commitment, and compassion is appreciated more than you know.)

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT and I repeat DO NOT take your animal to Dog & Cat Hospital they do not care about your animal. I have been taking Diamond my great dane there for 10yrs. Mostly for vaccinations however any other time she needs to be seen its an issue and they refer u somewhere else to pay alot more $. I chose this veterinary clinic because they had a hospital however anytime shes needs immediate care ive been turned away. (Diamond is a healthy dog with minimal issues) The veterinarian are great kind and nice to you animals. The office manager is NOT. She refuse to give even hear what was wrong with Diamond before dismissing me and sending me somewhere else. I asked her if i could wait to see if anyone cancelled she said no. The soonest apt is 4 days away and canNOT schedule that because of the severity of the issues i explained was happening.As i cried to her telling her i cannot lose this dog i just lost my dad she says…dont disrespect her she has a dog! I said how is that disrespecting u? You dont kno what i feel. She proceeds to say because she doesnt have a degree like a vet, i said what does that have to do with anything? Then she says shell send me my records and hung up! Completely unprofessional I have been going there 10yrs!! What I learned its all about the money. Period. All i wanted was my sick dog seen. Not an ego trip from a bad manager that never asked what was even wrong. I am so disgusted with that hospital and sad they treated Diamond the way the have. Again DO NOT TAKE YOUR Animal there. The office manager is extremely rude not empathetic at all to your situation or needs. She simply doesn’t care. I cried all day defeated till i found a clinic that would see and care for Diamond.

Experiencia fantástica: Being new to the area I have been to a few vet offices trying to establish care for my 9 year old Maltese. I am so glad I kept the pursuit! We have officially found our new vet office! Dr. Gerlach was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and well spoken. He is extremely personable and the staff that works with him are top notch! From the moment we walked in as new patients we were greeted with friendly faces and I can not rave enough about the timeliness! I didn't even get my name on the paperwork before we were called back and to my surprise, Dr. Gerlach was in the room waiting for us! My old girl was treated incredibly well and handled with such care! We were able to get all medications to make her feel better and prevented treatment at such a low cost! I literally did a double take at check out! Best vet visit I have had in 9 years! I can't speak highly enough.

I have seen a lot of changes, some good, some not so good, but what remains consistent is the care my animals get, and that is what matters most. Thank you for caring for us through our most difficult times, little bumps in the road, and good ol’ maintenance. Never change.

Experiencia negativa: I took my Dalmatian there because she was dry heaving. For some reason the woman vet wouldn't allow me to come back like they normally do. When they finished my dog came out looking very upset. I don't know what happened back there but I can tell you it was traumatic for my dog. The vet told me it was kennel cough and I told her it wasn't. She insisted that it was and gave me a prescription. On the way home my dog had a seizure. I called the dog and cat hospital and told them. They told me they were getting ready to close and take my dog somewhere else. I found an after hours vet in another city and headed that way. On our way my dog had another seizure and died in the car. I called the dog and cat hospital the next day and were very unsympathetic about the whole ordeal. I will never step foot in this horrible place again. I found another vet closer to home that always allows me to accompany my dog to the back. There are better veterinarians out there.

Experiencia fantástica: They’re always so great with my dog. I love it here. She’s really anxious but they always treat her with kindness and patience. They explain everything to us simply and they’ve treated every medical issue she’s had since she was a puppy. I love them, they’re like family at this point.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is beyond AMAZING! My cat who is 6 years old was suffering from an ear infection. I went to a previous vet who couldn’t tell me what it was and charged me so much with no solution. But when I came here they figured out what the issue was and it was at a VERY reasonable price. My cat had his infection for a whole year THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING HIM. He is doing Amazing ❤️

In addition, he always explains to me the medications’ side effects and how to monitor them when they have any physical/behave changed. Lastly, he always tells us to call if any concerns about our pets’ medication
