Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was so sweet. Brought in a rescue for chipping. When no chip was found, we decided to keep him. Vet offered to see the puppy immediately for First Visit. Our puppy seemed to love everyone. We already scheduled all necessary appointments with them. The pet insurance they offer is great!

Experiencia fantástica: These guys did a great job for my dog and i today, piloted by Dr. Anderson's extreme patience for all my questions and great knowledge of the problem I was dealing with. She even allowed me to take a moment a pray for my dog as we're dealing with some pretty serious issues. I'd absolutely recommend this place and Dr. Anderson. The price was reasonable and the service/expertise was very much on point. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The facility was great and the location was convenient. Today I had to let my sweet boy of 16 years cross over the rainbow bridge. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. They were so good to my boy and me. I highly recommend this business. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Plas is an exceptional veterinarian! She has provided amazing care for my 16 year-old cat Garfield at a time that we needed to know what was going on with him. She has deep knowledge of cats, she’s very approachable which has made this process so much easier. Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely wonderful experience given the circumstances. They are the closest vet I could get my dog into,who woke up and decided he couldn't walk (come to find out he was needing some sympathy points) and they were on the ball from the moment I walked in. The ladies in reception, the vet tech, and the Veterinarian all showed compassion and very professional. We are highly considering making them our normal vet moving forward. They called our normal vet to get his records immediately and we're on top of it. Could not recommend them more.

Experiencia fantástica: Our Kitty has two chronic conditions and for several days she had barely taken in any food or water. We feared her end was near and were considering euthanasia. The vet tech was very supportive of our concerns and thoughts. She summoned Dr Plass who listened to carefully as we explained Kitty’s decline. After a thorough exam she discovered a treatable condition. We were so relieved and thankful! I’m a retired RN and always appreciate medical explanations that Dr Plass offers freely without my having to ask. She is a very caring, supportive, friendly and professional veterinarian.

Experiencia negativa: Things used to be amazing until the last 6 or so years. The Paw Plan option(s) worked great for me and my needs. Since management changes, employee turnover, things have went south. Now there are no options for the Paw Plan, you get one option and it’s just getting more expensive. I have no need for unlimited visits and shouldn’t have to pay more because of it. A discount on a service that is in a certain category is great but 15% is insulting. Offering half off for nail trimmings would be great if it was reasonable for someone whose pet needs the trim on two paws only. That’s not a deal it’s a rip-off. At least figure out a way to treat retuning customers better. I understand that prices go up and need change but to screw over your customers for more money is ridiculous. Just basic services are hard enough.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff was nice, cost was affordable and they actually cared about my dog. My last vet did a terrible close and didn’t send me with antibiotics after a major surgery to remove cancer from my dog resulting in torn stitches. I was immediately given multiple alternatives here and sent home with antibiotics after the path we chose. Definitely found a new home for our fur child

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my senior dog in for a nail trim. Somehow a staff member expressed her anal glands without discussing with me. This is why I dislike tech appointments, where you separate me from my pet. I didn't want or ask for that to be done to my pet. Also don't like that it was on my bill as i didn't ask for that service. Front desk was friendly and removed charge for that...but a bit concerning that you don't verify what procedure a pet is in for before performing it on them.

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience with Dr. Patterson again. Brought Murphy in for his regular ear infection treatment that he gets one or two times a year now (from allergies). Dr. Patterson completed his ear cytology exam to confirm what was causing the infection. Pretty much the same culprits as before and the same remedy. So nice to have someone explain in easily understood words what we can do to fix the problem. Thanks again, Dr. Patterson and staff (all are nice, friendly, and seem to love their jobs. We'll be back.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an emergency situation with a new puppy and Southside was able to get me in quickly and get her looked at. They did a thorough workup on her to ensure that there wasn't something that was not immediately visible. I have been using Southside for many years now, and while they are not the cheapest, they do provide great service. Most notably, Dr. Plass is a rockstar and I would never go anywhere else as long as I can get her to care for my animals!

Experiencia fantástica: We have had wonderful care for our dog at Southside Pet Hospital. She has been going to them for a couple years now and they are always kind and gentle with her! The vet isn’t her favorite place, but they do all they can to calm her!
Experiencia fantástica: This was over a year ago I forgot to push the post button! Southside is the best! We met with the Dr. and within 15 minutes our Holly was diagnosed and treated for allergies. They were so kind and supportive as they administered a shot and provided a bit of whip cream to distract her! We love Southside!

Experiencia fantástica: I retired after 40+ years in vet med, and our regular family vet moved out of state. So, finding great medical care was extremely important. I've worked with some of the greatest people in vet med and some the worst. It's important to find the right fit for your family. I absolutely trust and adore the staff at Southside. The front desk, the techs, the doctors, and the management will do the best for you and your pets. I have a 21-year-old and 7-year-old dog with very different needs and care. They don't ask for unnecessary services. The price for services are reflect of good veterinary care. The entire staff works as a team to ensure that the best care and practices are followed. This is a difficult find and a precious resource. I typically don't leave reviews. However, it is still important to me that all furry family members have the best possible care.
Experiencia negativa: I have taken my dog in here twice for an ear infection. The first time I was charged $70 an ear and I took her in today and I was charged $100 an ear and was never told about the price or $30 price increase an ear in 5 months. I was taking her in for a recheck expecting everything was fine and then she said she was doing these treatments but never told me how much anything cost before she did it so then I was just left paying for it so no communication whatsoever. I was also there for the initial ear infection. I was told $70 an ear for that medication but apparently in two weeks it went up $30 an ear.

Experiencia positiva: Fast in and out. Helpful. I went there to get my dog vaccinated. But seems a little steep on the price. I was charged $120.00 just for a rabies shot. A vet clinic down the street were only charging $70. I felt a little ripped off but it was my fault I got the service without asking the price for it.

On 7-7-25, we had to make a heartfelt decision to have our 15-1/2 yr old Bud, go to puppy heaven. Everyone was so kind and compassionate when we brought Bud in. Experiencia positiva: I took two days off to go on a mini vacation and our pets health took priority over the vacation. South side was available to see why my sons dachshund was lethargic. Our communication styles differed causing an extra vet visit. I now have to give insulin shots to my sons dog after each meal as I can see the needles and no other way of medicating was offered. Thanks for saving our pet as I had no clue as to how bad this was.

Experiencia negativa: We are heartbroken and deeply disappointed with the care we've received from Southside Pet Hospital. Our cat has been seen multiple times in the past month, including extensive bloodwork and a sonogram. She is now basically on hospice at home, and when she recently began showing classic signs of a UTI, I called hoping for a simple prescription that might bring her some comfort in her final days. Instead, we were told that a full urinalysis was required—adding hundreds more to the already significant amount we've spent in just the past two weeks. There was no urgency nor compassion shown for our situation, no willingness to help us try one last option before making the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye. We stayed with Southside because of the complex medical history they had on file for our cat, but after this experience, we do not even feel comfortable scheduling her euthanasia there. Sadly, we will also be seeking care elsewhere for our other pets. This has been an incredibly painful time for our family, and we expected more empathy and support from the people we've entrusted with our pets' care.

Experiencia fantástica: We have continuously had a great experience at Southside Pet Hospital. Our dog, Gracie, began to experience pretty sudden ear sensitivity/pain and scratching last night. I called the office right when they opened this morning, hopeful that they would be able to get her in today so that she wasn’t miserable all weekend. I was grateful they were able to get me in within just a couple hours. Sure enough, she had a yeast infection in her ear. Dr. Patterson was wonderful as always, and I am hopeful she will be on the mend soon with the medicine we were sent home with!

I was searching for a second opinion about a tumor in my dogs stomach, they did an ultrasound and found it was on his spleen and was very close to rupturing. They took him into surgery promptly and gave me and my family some more time with our best friend. (Had this not been found it would not have been pleasant to come home too, I will save the grusome details) The doctors and staff were beyond amazing, funny, kind and caring. They were fair in their pricing and met any expectations I could ever have. This clinic will be my go to from now on. I will forever be greatful. Southside you are badass! Keep up the good work.

Experiencia positiva: The only direct experience I’ve had with southside pet hospital has been with the techs, the office team, and Dr. Plass. I took all my dogs there and while I did end up having to say goodbye to my sweet boy Bubba, Dr.Plass did everything she could to help him. She comforted me and gave me my options and was upfront when it was time to say goodbye. I will forever be thankful for her kind heart and her knowledge and experience. Should I have another pet, I will make sure to see Dr.Plass. Thank you to the team for being so kind! The only reason I did not give stars is because it is very expensive, but if that is not a problem for you, it is well worth it!

Experiencia negativa: It’s been a horrible experience here. I came to have our dog’s prescription refilled because they wouldn't refill his medicine unless they saw him and did blood work to check his medication levels. We made an appointment, but the service was terrible. When we arrived, they didn’t have a stretcher or bed for our dog, so we couldn’t bring him inside. He couldn’t walk, and he was too heavy for me to carry. The staff just took a blanket, wrapped him in it, and carried him in that way. Once inside, we met with the doctor, who explained the next steps. Then, two nurses came in to draw blood from my dog. Unfortunately, it seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing. They poked him with needles at least 5 or 6 times but couldn’t get any blood. I know how painful it is to be poked with needles, and my dog was struggling. After struggling for a long time, one of the nurses called the vet to help, and after 20 minutes, they finally got the blood. Thanks to the doctor for stepping in. The doctor told me that we could get the medicine within 2 hours or the next day. I followed up with the information counter, and they told me to just wait for CVS to message me when the prescription was ready for pickup. I expected the medication to be ready the next day, so I allowed for a 24-hour wait. After two days with no update, I called South Pet Olathe Hospital to ask about the prescription. I found out they hadn’t even called it in to CVS yet. I had been waiting for two days, assuming the prescription had already been sent in. I was worried that my dog might run out of his medication and suffer a seizure again without it. Fortunately, I called that morning, and the staff told me they would call CVS right away. I thought everything was fine, but then, in the afternoon, I received a voicemail saying they couldn’t refill the prescription because they had made a mistake with my dog’s blood work. Apparently, they hadn’t checked it properly to determine his medication levels. So, the visit ended up being pointless, and I paid for it. They told me I needed to make another appointment for new blood work to get the correct medication levels for his seizures. After a long conversation, they agreed to give me enough medication to last until the next appointment, and I was told I could pick it up at the hospital before they closed at 6 pm. Just before I went, I received another call telling me they still couldn’t give me the medicine. They would send another prescription to CVS. The lack of professionalism and responsibility from the staff is unacceptable, especially the ones at the information counter. Every time I called about the prescription, they put me on hold for long periods and then transferred me to another staff member. I had to speak with three or more people, and I felt like they were laughing at me for following up so much. I was simply trying to make sure they had called the prescription into CVS. I no longer trust them after they failed to send the prescription the first time. All we needed was a refilled prescription for my dog. We paid for the visit, but the service has been unprofessional, and the staff was irresponsible in handling our needs. It’s been a frustrating and stressful experience. I WOULD NEVER recommend this place unless they improve their customer service or their behavior.

Experiencia negativa: We have received some very poor recommendations from the “exotic pet expert“ at Southside for one of our sweet guinea pigs, who came in for a routine check up about 5 months ago. After owning him for over two years this expert recommended to my 16-year-old daughter that we take him off of all fruits & vegetables and to feed them only lettuce with a vitamin C supplement and hay. One of them started to go downhill very quickly, my daughter could not figure out why. As we were having a conversation one evening she had mentioned this “expert” recommended to her unbeknownst to me because she went by herself to the appt. and relying on this “experts” advice (the diet was never an issue) there were no issues! Grinch our sweet pig started losing his & hair losing weight and developed bumble foot about 2 months which my daughter worked very hard at getting them healed of that and it was getting better. Again, we never had one issue owned these guinea pigs for over two years. We obviously added fruits and vegetables back to his diet asap but unfortunately, he could not recover & last night started having seizures could not stand up and has unfortunately passed away due to this “experts” poor recommendation that she stands by to this day. Nowhere have I ever read or been told by the many people we know who own guinea pigs bloggers or other exotic pet experts have had this extreme poor recommendation. My advice would be to your own research. Very frustrating that she would not take ownership for this being the reason why he started going downhill and blamed my daughter for doing things that maybe shouldn’t have been done. BE CAREFUL

Experiencia negativa: I’m deeply disappointed with the care my guinea pig received at this clinic, and I believe the advice given by one of their staff contributed to his decline. My guinea pig was healthy and thriving with a balanced diet that included a variety of fresh foods. However, after being advised to drastically change his diet to just lettuce, hay, and pellets, he began losing weight, his hair started falling out, and he eventually developed bumblefoot. These changes were too much for his little body to handle, and he couldn’t recover. When we confronted the staff member about the advice before his death, I asked where her recommendation came from. She said she had studied with a board-certified veterinarian for six years and stood by her suggestion, refusing to take accountability for the drastic impact the dietary change had. Instead, she blamed the symptoms on other potential causes but couldn't tell us what those causes were. She could not explain it and offered no solutions. This was months before he died. While I understand that every animal is different, it was clear to me that the sudden dietary change caused the health problems my guinea pig experienced. I feel let down and would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking care for their small pets

And I experienced ther love and care they had for my family and I and the privacy and the flexibility they had with us I can say , I’m so glad I never stopped going to southside since. The customers service at Southside Pet Hospital not only for me, but for my little cockapoo started with the initial phone appointment, they were very helpful and got us appointment that day. Once there, our vet tech Haley, an angel!! She was very welcoming, attentive and kind. Now regarding services rendered- TOP NOTCH! Dr. Kuan evaluated and assessed my dog thoroughly. He addressed each concern I had and gave answers in a layman’s fashion so that I understood my options for my furr baby. Experiencia negativa: My dog had a seizure and couldn’t walk so I got her in the car and rushed her up to see a vet. This was a Saturday yet they were open. I called ahead on my way and I was told that the vets were too busy to see her and not to come. I just started using this vet too but I will never come back here again with that type of response. It’s one thing if they were closed but to be told they are too busy to treat and examine my dog in this emergency situation is just unacceptable. Never again will I come here. Very unprofessional.

Experiencia fantástica: My Siberian Huskyhad a terrible tummy ache from eating something he shouldn’t have. Staff was friendly and efficient with diagnosis and treatment plan. Marked improvement within 48 hours of medications and treatment. So happy to have my boy feeling better!

Experiencia fantástica: This past week, we decided to find a new vet. Our friend suggested Southside. I called them, booked an appointment for NEXT day, filled out the New Client Form online, and they contacted my previous vet for records. Most stressfree transition. My dog has severe anxiety and had to be muzzled at his old vet. Not at Southside Clinic! They allowed my dog to get used to them. My dog was suffering with severe intestinal issues since September (misdiagnosed by previous vet). Within 24 hours of seeing Dr. Rueb he is playing, eating, and acting like his old self. I have told everryone I know about the excellent care this facility give for their clients and patients. Thank you, Southside for helping my best friend. See you at the check up.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our 20 yr old cat in to have him checked out. The vet told us he was quite ill and in kidney failure and should have him put down. We made arrangements the next day to bring him in to be euthanized. The staff was helpful and supportive. They had a room prepared for us and allowed us to stay with our kitty as long as we wanted after the procedure. They have a pawprint memorial to send us, which we are looking forward to since this was a cherished pet for our family. I would highly recommend Southside.

Experiencia fantástica: Employees were professional. Time at appointment was short. Genuine concern for my cat's health. They have a monthly payment plan which makes it easy to pay for an an annual shot plan for pets.

Experiencia fantástica: We’re new to the area and I’m so glad that we chose Southside Pet Hospital! Everyone we came in contact with there was so kind! Dr. Wolfe was incredible! She answered all my questions and was so patient and compassionate. It’s obvious they really care about animals. There’s nowhere else I would want to take our dogs!

Experiencia negativa: Arrived 15 min early for appointment. Only client I could see. Put right in exam room. Waited 30 min for technician to come in and weigh and do vitals. Then, waited an additional 30 min for doctor to come in. Went out to front desk during my hour wait, was greeted by the doctor as she was talking to another associate. Over and hour wait is unacceptable. That's why we made an appointment. When my appointment was finished, i had to call someone to the front desk to check me out and pay. During my visit, I heard multiple associates leaving, as it was the end of the day. Clients should take priority. Happened last week as well for our other pet. Should block appointment times to handle emergencies and being short staffed. Since that was the excuses used. Staff was friendly. But experience was absolulety dreadful!

Experiencia positiva: I bring my animals to this vet clinic from everything from a checkup to major life milestones for my pets. I'm very happy with how every visit has gone and it's gone really well. I've ran into a few hiccups, but I'd say that is more of the exception than the rule.

Experiencia fantástica: Just wonderful. The Dr Patterson was able to cut nails on our 12 year old pug without sedation. We weren’t able to do it any more and thought he would have to be sedated which is dangerous.

Experiencia negativa: Good customer service is so important when running a business. Especially a business that involves caring for pets. I scheduled an appt and advised it would be over my lunch hour. The person who scheduled the appt said it wouldn't take more than an hour. I arrived only to find out she never scheduled the appt. There were no apologies given. The person training the new person was absolutely awful. She had zero customer service skills and poor conflict resolution. In addition, she said she'll have to see if I can be "worked in". Then referred to my dog as an "it." Lol. What? Maybe have a better system in place to make sure things are being handled properly? They (both women at the front desk) stared weirdly and acted as if they didn't want to greet me when I walked in. The "trainer" should not be training anyone. Someone needs to train her and she needs to be behind the scenes, definitely not in a customer facing position. Once I got in a room, I had to talk to 3 different people and repeat the same thing over again. The 2 technicians who examined my dog before the dr came in were nice enough, but service has gone way down. We brought my mom's dog here for end of life care and the people who assisted at that time were awesome. In fact, we sent a handwritten thank you card. This time around? Not so much. It was not a good experience and I'll be looking for a new place to take my dog.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this place, I found a vet who truly takes care. They took in my Guinea pig the day I called, she unfortunately passed away which wasn’t their fault. They sent me a card and I have never felt more appreciated in my life. I want to thank the vet techs and vet who took care and send me a card. I will be coming to this place with my other animals because they really are good people. Thank you for the card it means a lot.
