Experiencia fantástica: Great service and Dr Proietto was very professional and very knowledgeable. We were very impressed with how they handled the issue that we brought our cat in for without any of the extras that most vets try to sell you on. We are happy to have found our go-to veterinary clinic close by too.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible vet. I would rate 0 stars if I could. I’ve been here multiple times years ago and they were amazing. They were so compassionate & caring. Last weekend I took my cat to the vet because I was afraid he may have a UTI. They came back in the room with a quote over $1000 just to determine if he had a uti. No option for payment plans, only care credit. They ended lowering it to $175 (funny) which would include an exam to determine if he was unwell. They took my cat to the back to examine him and the staff member came back within 2 minutes telling me the vet “declined the exam” because my CAT who’s generally calm and well behaved is too feisty and that they would require sedation which would be an additional $75. So I still paid $175 just for a bag of urinary diet pet food I could have bought at the store for $30 & pain killers?? After they got payment they rushed me out not answering questions properly. Also, I spoke the “vet” initially in the beginning and after never came back. Instead I was dealing with another staff member who definitely couldn’t be over 18 years old and seemed to have no idea about anything. They only care about money and don’t even know how to properly treat animals or people. Other people have warned me that they had new staff and it wasn’t the same and I didn’t listen and deeply regret it. I will NEVERRR go back. If you love your pet & don’t want to be extremely overcharged stay away from them.

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed with this place. I booked a grooming appointment for my dogs and clearly stated over the phone that their vaccines are fully up to date. No one mentioned that a mandatory doctor visit would be required before grooming. After driving 30 minutes to get there, I was told the vet had to examine them first — which means an extra charge. This was never explained when I scheduled the appointment. It felt like an unnecessary way to charge more money. If this is their policy, it should be clearly communicated ahead of time so clients don’t waste their time. Very frustrating experience.

Experiencia positiva: Scarbrough animal hospital needs to stop changing staff. Every single time we go for a vet appt it’s always new people who do not know our dog and do not pay attention to detail. They need to pay more attention to the customer that have been going there for years like us. Our dog is a certain way and the doctors know that. All though we appreciate the 2 doctors that are the constant we don’t appreciate new staff every single time we come. It does not make us or our dog feel comfortable. It could be the difference between staying and finding a new vet.

Experiencia fantástica: If i could give them 1,000 stars I would. My 8 year old baby girl got sick suddenly a few days ago. Couldn’t hold any food or water down. Became very lethargic after so much fluid loss. Im living paycheck to paycheck because of life after covid. Mountain high debt from when the world shut down has caused serious financial hardship. I called 19 places looking for help. No body cared. They only cared about getting paid despite me conveying what my dog was experiencing. This place WAS THE ONLY ONE OF 19 PLACES THAT SHOWED COMPASSION AND TALKED TO ME LIKE A HUMAN BEING not a pay day looking for help during this tough time with financial difficulties. I live 40 minutes away and I drove to get their help and the compassion these people showed didn’t stop on the phone. When I got there they were so nice and friendly. Got my Luna in almost immediately. Without them Id never have known what happened. She unfortunately has since passed yesterday 1/16/26. If you read this, any staff from this vet hospital I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for her. I had her since she was a puppy and she felt like my daughter. Losing her has been the hardest thing i’ve dealt with in a very long time. The comfort, the compassion and kindness displayed will never be forgotten. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Experiencia fantástica: The Doctors, techs and staff are all awesome, very caring and extremely thorough! Scarbrough is an Animal Hospital, so it can do all the blood work, scans and testing onsite, which makes it less stressful for your pet. They also have an online pharmacy, which is super convenient too. I've been taking my dog here for over 8 years. Even after moving to a different county, I still travel to Scarbrough because of the quality care she receives. My dog Jbean loves going there because everyone is welcoming, enjoys their work, and it really shows!

Experiencia fantástica: These folks are just great. Even Cassie, my Shi-tzu, who hates everyone except me, behaved herself with them. And they didn't shoot my Pit in the butt when we walked in, as most places do. I was actually $8 short on the bill. As a first time client, I was a bit uncomfortable about asking to be billed for the $8 balance. They had no problem with my paying later. Both of my doggies were so cute after their grooming and smelled great. I Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Been going to Dr ROB for at least 13 years with my lab / retriever/ Pitt ) TINO who passed a year ago from natural causes) now I have a new baby ( adopted Buddy James. Experiencia fantástica: Lucy has been coming here since she was a puppy. Dr Rob and the awesome team at Scarbrough have always taken great care of her. I ask lots of questions and I am treated with respect and patience and honesty. Dr Rob is magical. Lucy adores him and let's him fully examine her when necessary without hesitation. Experiencia fantástica: This is by far the best animal hospital in Sunrise Florida. Dr. Rob, Danielle, Casey, JoJo and the rest of the staff are awesome. I haven't worked with the other vets at this location. Dr. Rob took over from Dr. Drew with our pets and has been superb with our 4 legged babies. Unfortunately we lost 2 of our fur babies but if it wasn't for Dr. Rob, Danielle, Fredrika and Cassie I don't know how we'd have gotten through. They not only took great care of us during that time but they took the best of care of them while they were alive. Our babies knew them and trusted them and their care. Thank you to Dr. Rob and your staff for always helping and taking care of us and our needs. I strongly recommend Scarbrough Animal Hospital for your fur babies.

Experiencia fantástica: OMG Dr Julia Drube is soooo carying and great surgeon. My Haika has had already 2 surgeries with with Dr Drube and this last one she came walking when delivered after 2 major removals and it was like nothing happened. Anesteshia effect were gone and she was soooo alert I got happily shocked. Haika is 13 years old and my support / emotional friend and the Hospital and specially Dr Drube has shown affection and carying for Haika. I am so grateful to have fount them!! Highly recommended

Experiencia negativa: Every place you can call and they can give you an estimate , on how much it cost to fix a male cat 1 year old . Well not here . They want me to go , bring the cat so they can give me q price . I think that policy is shady , they should be able to provide an estimate . Estimate means , Tell me the approximate final number on a range from X to Y , that’s all we need to know as shoppers with a phone call . Get better open policy for your potential costumers .

Experiencia fantástica: Brought in my Jack Russell this morning as an emergency on a Sunday, and had a slot open for 11 am appt. Front desk and staff above and beyond, including Dr. Drube. Had to leave my doggie for lab work and took less than 1 hr. Definitely recommend 100%

Experiencia fantástica: My weimaraner’s face was swollen below her eye. (The vet thought it was an infected molar.) I scheduled a dental cleaning and was informed of the possibility that an extraction would be needed. Staff was friendly. There was follow up from the doctor prior to and post extraction (a large molar) and the following day which shows professionalism and that they care. I had gone to another vet for a second opinion because the cost was going to be high and Scarbrough saved me $700. I had no idea It was so expensive to have your dog’s teeth cleaned! Scarbrough offers a discounted dental treatment plan that was worthwhile for my large dog. The vet Dr Tabares also game me prints of the x-rays and the extracted tooth and explained what was done during surgery. She also explained post surgical care, such as the anti-inflammatory and pain meds she should be given as well as soft food. Overall I am very pleased. Follow-up visit in 2 weeks at no additional cost. And best of all my baby’s bad tooth is out and she will recover very soon.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my cat for an emergency visit for wheezing and upper respiratory concerns because our primary vet was booked on a Sunday. After the attention from the staff and Dr. Julia Drube, we made the decision to make this vet our primary and will continue our care here. Very professional and on top of preventive care. We finally got real a real diagnosis for our cat which our previous vet never confirmed. We are very much satisfied with their attention and service. Experiencia fantástica: My poor Little Leo has been more upset over raccoons coming in through his cat door than I realized! I noticed he started loosing his hair! Experiencia fantástica: Scarbrough Animal Hospital has been caring for our golden retriever Emmy since we brought her home, and we couldn’t ask for better care. The entire staff is kind, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated. The doctors always listen, explain everything clearly, and pay close attention to our concerns. They even follow up the next day, which really shows how much they care. Our pup Emmy even has a favorite nurse, Angela, since she was little — and that special bond makes every visit even more comforting. We feel completely safe bringing our girl here. Highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: I had very very bad experience here, I don’t want to give any stars to doctor Julia very unprofessional. I bring my Dog with back pain and paralysis on side. She didn’t help my dog , she recommends to take a blood test to get more money. She didn’t do x-rays, she didn’t check the dog for prostatitis, only gives painkillers without prescribing treatment. I do not recommend you to go to this hospital. Thank God, there are excellent vets and my dog ​​got back on his feet in a week without blood tests for kidneys and liver and the pills that Julia prescribed.

Every time I bring my dog in, the staff goes above and beyond—but today especially, I had such a great experience. Hilda Hernandez, the vet nurse, was incredibly kind, patient, and just genuinely awesome with my pup. She made the whole visit feel stress-free and warm. Experiencia fantástica: Another great visit for my dog Rolf. His yearly and injections, some of them, because he's a small dog I'll have to go back. Very friendly staff, Dr Rob is super friendly and my dog trusts him and the ladies. If you have a new pet, try Scarborough animal hospital, they're really good with animals I have to say, and my previous exclusive vet that was very reputable, but I left after a visit with Dr Rob with my new dog Rolf. It gets my stamp of approval.

Experiencia positiva: I have been taking my dog to this clinic for many years. My dog suffers from allergies, which cause recurring ear infections. The last emergency we had was a hematoma, which was treated exceptionally well by Dr. O’Neil. She was marvelous. After years of visiting this vet, I finally found the right doctor for my dog—unfortunately, she left. Since then, my last three visits have felt like nothing more than a financial transaction. To make matters worse, they injected the Cytopoint, but just three days later, my dog was itching as if nothing had been done. When I called the clinic, I was put on hold for several minutes, only to be told to "give the Cytopoint time to work." However, I have been using this medication for a long time, and I know it works immediately. On Wednesday, my mother took my pet to their facility and was assisted. The manager discussed my review step by step and addressed my concerns. In the end, everything was explained to me clearly. None of this would have happened if someone had explained it to me properly from the start. They will investigate who attended to me over the phone. It makes me feel better that they took my opinion into account. To be fair, they did work with me through this misunderstanding, and at the end of the day, that is also gratifying.

Experiencia fantástica: They care! Been going there since Doctor Fred saved my cats leg years ago. Updating my review after 22 yrs of excellent, compassionate service. We've had a few dogs over the years pass through their doors, and whether an emergency, or routine care, or helping my pal Leo make his trip over the 'rainbow bridge', each was treated like it was their own pet. Experiencia fantástica: Dr.Tabares and Alejandro were amazing to my cat Blackie. They were kind and knowledgeable about blackies injured eye. They are very affordable as well.He has hospital eye stained and measured for pressure along with four prescriptions for about $300.00. Which is amazing.I am so glad to have found a caring affordable vet so close to home. I would recommend them to everyone. As a side note my Blackie is a rescue who showed up at house and i thought she was a girl but she is i fact a boy ten years old named Fred (he had a chip) he is now my babyboy black Fred .

Experiencia fantástica: I recently took my princess to get her teeth cleaned at Scarbrough. I had a great experience with Dr. Rob, Danielle, Angie, and the front desk team. Not only did they keep me updated on her well-being during the cleaning, but they called me to explain she needed several tooth extractions and made sure I was okay with the procedure and costs before moving forward with it. They also continuously followed up to make sure she’s been having a smooth recovery. Thank you for being passionate about what you do and putting in care for our pets.

Experiencia fantástica: The one and only thing i didnt like was the tech, hanna having me go through 3 credit apps (turned down) very embarred to the say ok now you can have a payment plan with us. 70% down 233.00 with 3 payments left in 30's. Why not 100.00 down an 100.00 week for 3 weeks. We have had payment plans prior all paid never went through this. Thank you Dr Robb for your response. As always you are the bestest and numero uno. I usually take my dog to another vet but when I called them they couldn’t see him even though I said he had ear infection he was scratching and it was bleeding. Experiencia fantástica: 2025 Update: Made an appointment for a check in with Dr. Rob since my cat was experiencing mild symptoms, he was kind & explained every detail of the tests/treatment plan. Hilda was our nurse this time, she was patient with me as I asked for an explanation of every line item. 5 years later, SAH is still our preferred vet 2024 Update: I didn’t think I could love this vet more, but I’ve been proven wrong. They’ve recently expanded and added a kitty specific room as well as a big dog room. Each one is tailored for the animals’ needs! Truly the best & most considerate vet. Dr. Robb was wonderful as always 2022: Scarbrough has always been our kitty vet. We adopted a kitten from Broward ASPCA 3 years ago and they recommended this hospital for her, we came & fell in love! They’re a no fear clinic, and treat both of babies as if they’re their own! It’s amazing how our cats growl & yowl with any other clinic except Scarbrough, here they allow themselves to be examined (even though they aren’t the happiest haha). Truly worth it, we love them & their staff!

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dogs for doctor visits, surgery, and spa for more than 2 years. They don't offer grooming anymore by the way. I've spent loads of money at this place and they could have at least offer accommodations for customers for grooming. My dog is difficult to deal with and i told them several times that she bites but it seems like they always have a problem with her. Why be in business if you cant take care of reactive animals?? The office lacks communication so it seems like the workers are operating on different wavelengths and the prices are ridiculous. I'm not sure what's going on.

Experiencia fantástica: Dogs will be dogs... I've been in one too many sceneries of my boxer eating things he's not supposed to and it'll come out one way or the other. Well, he was not getting better, eventually stopped eating and drinking. I had to bring him in, and so grateful that I did. Dr. O'Neill is a god send! Brutus had surgery that same day and a lot of back up and blockage was found... after the surgery, he had a bowel movement... low and behold a little toy cone. To say he learned his lesson after this whole ordeal, i would be lying, because he did not. As much as I love the care we received, I do not want to bring him back in Dr. O'Neill and Dr. Drube performed Brutus' long surgery.. they are miracle workers!. The staff is incredible and very attentive as well, especially Nancy. I wish I got the other names of the nurses but one things for sure is that they take care of your baby as if they are one of their own. Definitely check them out ❤️ i got my annoying stubborn dog back.

Experiencia negativa: I received a call this morning (11/9) at 7:30AM to talk about prescribed medications for my cat. The instructions given were not the same I was given when I went to pick up my medication. The doctor on the phone, Jessica O’Neal, decided to ask me about the previous review I wrote a few days ago, (the only time I have had someone call me to discuss this) discussing how improperly my cat was treated. I politely mentioned that it was too early in the morning for me to discuss any of this, and she proceeded to tell me that “just so you know, needle containers cannot be opened once closed and nobody can put their arm in it to touch a needle”. This immediately upset me as my feelings were not validated, and I was told that they are “short staffed” as if this is a restaurant business and i’m upset over a messed up meal? After i expressed my concern about the vet tech EATING CHOCOLATE in the room with my pet and also SLAMMING my cat around in her carrier, hitting the walls, she continued to tell me that “i shouldnt have posted this review online, i should have called them first”. For a business that revolves around SAVING LIVES, this is so unprofessional and disrespectful. She continued to SPEAK OVER ME and began to repeat “dont yell at me dont yell at me” when I was NOT yelling, my voice was raising due to her trying to cut me off and continue to speak over me. I have never seen such lack of professionalism in a place that charges THOUSANDS of dollars and is supposed to care about your pets more than anything. Not even being able to take criticism especially when YOU messed up is something a business should not be doing. Also, if you are short staffed and your current staff cannot fully explain the details of a medication to a patient or even properly bring your pet into the room, do not keep the business open. Pets do not deserve to be harmed over your lack of care. I have received better apologies at restaurants where they don’t try to justify their mistakes at ALL. I have the right to post my experience at a business especially to help others who are bringing their PETS HERE.

Due to the closure of her lifelong vet’s practice, we reluctantly looked for a new place and found this hospital. At first, the service seemed great—the staff was friendly, and they treated us like family. But over time, as the clinic expanded, everything that once made it feel welcoming was lost. What happened on Saturday, November 2, 2024, left us shocked and heartbroken. Lola has a chronic ear problem that this clinic has known about for years, yet they’ve continued to brush it off as a minor infection, despite countless treatments that obviously weren’t working. That day, I went in desperate for help, only to be met with disdain and rudeness from Alejandro, an assistant whose disrespectful attitude and dismissive behavior made me feel unwelcome from the start. Imagine pouring your heart out about the suffering of a pet you’ve had for nearly a decade, only to be treated as though you’re wasting their time. When I finally saw Dr. Rob Proietto, who has been seeing Lola recently, I thought he understood my concerns. I explained our difficult financial situation, how we had to cancel her insurance, and my hope for a compassionate, practical approach to managing her health. I wasn’t looking for a handout—just a plan that we could follow step-by-step to give Lola the quality of life she deserves in her final years. But instead of empathy, Dr. Proietto handed us a ridiculous, overpriced estimate for a treatment plan we’d already tried multiple times, knowing it wouldn’t work. This was after promising to find a reasonable solution. When Alejandro handed me that estimate, I was speechless. The clinic’s only interest was clear: how much money they could squeeze out of us. This clinic has lost its soul. They couldn’t care less about your pet or your family—the only thing that matters to them is how much they can charge. We walked out with no answers, feeling betrayed and deeply disappointed by the people we thought were there to help us. If you love your pet, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this clinic. The lack of empathy, the dismissive staff, and the outrageously expensive, ineffective treatments show that this place is nothing but a money-making machine. Think twice before you walk through their doors—this is not a place that cares about pets or the people who love them. Sunrise deserves better.

Experiencia fantástica: Scarborough Animal Hospital has been my Am. Staffs. vet for the past 4.5 years now. Dr. Rob is awesome. He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, provides the best care, and most effective treatment plan. Alejandro, the vet tech on our last visit, was wonderful! He went above and beyond with the service he provided to us and our fur baby, Coltrane. Finally, I can’t forget to mention how polite and accommodating the office staff are when I call for an appointment.

Experiencia negativa: I am writing this review with extreme impatience and anger. I have been coming to this hospital for several years now with many of my different cats. Today, November 2nd, was not a good experience for us. We walked into our appointment, got seated in a room, and immediately noticed that things were off. The BIOHAZARD NEEDLE WASTE BUCKET was left OPEN on the counter, FILLED with USED NEEDLES inside. My cat kept jumping up onto the counter (as all cats do) and I kept grabbing her to avoid her going over to the needle bucket. The assistant/tech that entered the room immediately unwrapped a Hersheys Kiss Chocolate, popped it into her mouth, and chewed as she asked about our cat. She threw the CHOCOLATE WRAPPER in the waste bucket that is on the floor which is extremely accessible to any and every animal. Again, my cat kept roaming over there and sniffing/sticking her head in the trash. The tech continued to chew as she spoke which is incredibly unprofessional, considering she was only in the room for a solid MINUTE and couldnt have waited to eat her chocolate after she walked out. The trash bin mentioned was NOT changed out, there were several used tissues in there despite them only opening an hour prior to us arriving. Once the Doctor came in to speak to us, they relayed information the tech had written down, claiming things we had not said our cat did. She specifically mentioned that our cat was “vocal” when using the litter, when none of this was mentioned by either of us. The lack of attention and care put into the health of our loved pet pains us especially because of the gravity of the situation. Our kitty was in for possible kidney stones or a UTI and there was no level of care. On top of that, we had to tell the tech TWICE that we did not want to buy dry food here at the hospital, and even after bringing us a renewed bill, the dry food was STILL placed on there as a charge. This worries us heavily as there are LIVES in the hands of these employees who are so careless they cant even wait to eat a chocolate bar outside of the patients room. On the way out, the same tech came back in with our baby in the carrier and was quite literally slamming the carrier around. The carrier hit the wall and the side of the door frame about 3-4 times before we finally had to speak up, lunge forward and grab the carrier out of her hand. She replied with, “what happened? oh im sorry I was talking to you guys”. Our baby just finished getting injections and medications and this is the lack of care shown? Not to mention, our bill was 1,200$. I expect the level of care to be ABOVE AND BEYOND if i’m paying thousands of dollars for care. And to be totally honest, waiting over an hour and a half for service, paying over a thousand dollars, AND having to experience these careless, dangerous mistakes is upsetting to say the very least. And to not even properly handle or carry the carrier properly but instead just let it slam the sides of the wall and the door? It pains me to say that I can’t even imagine the level of carelessness they demonstrate when they’re NOT in front of the pet owners. BIOHAZARD CONTAINERS WITH USED NEEDLES INSIDE SHOULD BE DISPOSED OF OR ATLEAST PROPERLY CLOSED / STORED. NOT LEFT COMPLETELY OPEN ON A VERY REACHABLE COUNTER WHERE PETS AND CHILDREN WALK AND ROAM AROUND.

Experiencia fantástica: Humane Society recommended me to take my cat to Scarborough Animal Hospital. I'm extremely happy and satisfied with their service. My cat is very difficult to deal with, and they surprised me beyond belief as they have the perfect touch. With the use of pheromones my cat became calm tamed and manageable. All the personnel was courteous, kind and very humane. Thank You all

Experiencia fantástica: When I adopted my cats in 2016 from the Broward county animal care and adoption center, I was told they needed to go to this specific vet so I wouldn't be charged anything extra for the rest of their vaccinations, and I'm so glad I was sent here. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rob and the entire staff. They are incredibly compassionate and their love of animals really shows in how they treat the pets and pet parents.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Jessica O’Neill is beyond !!! She has literally saved both of my dogs! Helped one of my dogs have major knee surgery on both back legs. She’s great at explaining different level of care and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Highly recommend !!

Experiencia fantástica: Our fur baby loves to go see his favorite vet! Dr. O’Neil loves Jett just as much as we do! The staff is really friendly and helpful. We drive 25 minutes and it’s totally worth it! So glad we found such an amazing vet!!

Experiencia fantástica: I could not recommend Dr. O’Neill more! She has been the most companionate vet my dogs have ever seen. She is the first and only vet that has done a full body exam right in front me, while explaining everything she does and staying calm and kind to my dogs, even when they were scared and did not want to be touched. The first time I came in, my dog was having unexplained symptoms for months and she was the only one who took the time to actually see my dog symptoms and referred me to a neurologist. My dog is now better than ever and I doubt he would even be here if it wasn’t for her. She takes her time with your dogs, takes your concerns seriously and takes her time explaining everything. She is the only vet that my dogs will see from now on.
