They are honest and do not recommend services or vaccines just to upsell. In fact, they have advised me to wait on a service for a few years because it was not worth the risk of anesthesia at this time to my dog.

It was so refreshing to find compassionate vet care here in McKinney. The clinic itself was clean and spacious, modern and comfortable. As always, Dr. Shelton is top notch. He is knowledgeable and attentive. He has treated my dogs from snake bites to feral hog attacks and every routine treatment in between. During every situation, the entire office has treated all pets and humans with compassion, knowledge and professionalism. We have also seen Dr. Wise. She has been a welcome addition to this clinic family. The front office staff are gracious and professional. I always feel welcome. Vet techs handle situations with the care I provide for my own dogs. My dogs and fosters each have their personalities and the Vets and Technicians are able to navigate around these to administer treatment.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat to 380 West on Jan. 19th. We scheduled a follow up but by that Friday, I could see that she was going downhill fast. With the weather moving in, I couldn't get to a vet, but Dr. Stalling answered my frantic email and chatted back and forth with me offering suggestions to help until I could get her to a vet. She went above and beyond to offer assistance even though she had only seen my cat once a few days before. Even though my cat didn't make it, I wouldn't hesitate to take my future animals to 380 West!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been bringing my dogs to 380 West Animal Clinic since about 2010. Dr. Shelton is awesome!. My most recent visit was with Dr. Thompson and I’m a fan! Some vets will over-treat and over-charge. That has never been my experience with 380 West Animal Clinic. They are kind and compassionate as well as being really good at what they do! Update: January 28, 2026. I just had my first visit with Dr Jackson and he is awesome! My Ivy was injured when I slipped and fell on the ice while carrying her. Dr Jackson was very compassionate and put me at ease right away. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. He went over treatment options and answered all my questions. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!!

Were very budget conscious, didn't pressure or make you do any procedure without knowing the cost first, so no expensive surprises. My cat does need surgery and they sent high/low estimate, even the high end is very reasonable. They are great at communication, whether calling or emailing back, it is prompt. We've been very pleased so far. Got to get one better, then onto the other two.

Calls were ignored during a critical time, and the lack of urgency or compassion contributed to a devastating outcome. It’s clear that the well-being of animals is not their priority. I would not trust them with any pet’s life. Please think twice before bringing your beloved companion here.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience was really pleasant here! My Bengal kitty has been miserable for the past 3-4 months. After taking her to primary vet + dermatologist, she still wasn’t getting better. So I did my research for second opinion and found 380 West! They did a thorough checkup + additional biopsy. And throughout the process Dr. was gentle and my kitty also trusted the Dr. they followed up and ensure everything was good. Although it’s too soon to say if my kitty is getting better or not, but solely on the experience, I will recommend this place to anyone.

My cat, Coco, has been coughing recently so I called yesterday asking if they had any availability for Saturday. They didn’t have any appointments but said they could try and squeeze me in. I was sat fairly quickly and the vet also came in quick too. This was my first time seeing Dr. Wise and she was amazing!! I love how she explains everything thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable. She also answered my many questions lol. I definitely recommend this place and Dr. Wise!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been bringing my cat here since 2010 when I got him. He of course hates going to the vet but he loves everyone and all of the attention he gets. Everyone treats him like he’s theirs and they don’t make me feel weird for being such a crazy cat mom. Update: My sweet boy Percy (Perceus) died peacefully in my arms at home on Easter Sunday. After being his caregiver through nearly two years of illness, including cancer, I was absolutely devastated and still am. I took my youngest cat for his first vet appointment and it was such a different feeling leaving with a healthy cat. I love Dr Shelton and Dr Wise and trust them fully. All of the techs and staff are amazing. Macy will always be special in my family due to her going above and beyond when it came to getting my Percy’s prescriptions. I could have got my little cats wellness exam done free at petco but the vaccines are actually cheaper at 380 west and I feel like part of a family rather than just a number. Nov 2025 update - I have two new kittens that are now established with 380 west at the brand new office. Still 10/10, 100% recommended.

Experiencia fantástica: I truly appreciate a vet who will sit down and listen to me and give me time to collect important medical records which had to await. When the records were sent in, it showed my dog did NOT need a particular shot. So I saved money and my dog was saved a shot!

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent vet in a new state of the art facility. Dr Thompson was extremely attentive and helped keep me calm. I came in worried my dog would need surgery after eating a brittle bone chew. They were able to get my boy cleared out and feeling much better within a half an hour. I called care credit in the morning to get my limit increased thinking I was going to need to spend thousands but they got him in tip top shape for less than $160 This will be my main vet going forward. Very thankful to the staff and anyone in the north DFW area should trust in 380 west to take care of their baby. Thank you guys!!

Everyone here is always so friendly and informative — from the vet techs to the vets, the whole team is amazing. I honestly appreciate each and every one of them. Recently, my dog Boba was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and Dr. Jackson has been incredible throughout the process. He’s super helpful, patient, and takes the time to explain everything so I always feel informed. Boba also started getting hot spots from her condition, and even though today’s schedule was supposed to be completely booked, Dr. Jackson still found a way to fit us in so she could be seen. That meant so much to me. Boba can get really nervous and scared at the vet, but Dr. Jackson always makes sure things go smoothly and takes his time with her. You can tell he really cares. I couldn’t ask for a better vet or a better team. I’m so grateful for 380 West Animal Hospital!

It's very hard to put 100% trust in someone to speak for my animals. Dr. Shelton is so genital, he completely examines, and explains the issue. He helped me to understand that I was making the right choice to let my dog go back to God. He was so patient with me and my baby. When I requested my blanket back, he so very gently lifted Puddles off the blanket so I could take it with me. I will never go anywhere but to Dr. Shelton. First we met with Dr. Wise, she is very nice, we had a wonderful experience with her therefore we went back. On our second visit we met with Dr. Sheldon. We had some concerns with our senior dog and Dr. Sheldon eased our fears. My husband was so worried about our dog, after seeing Dr. Sheldon, he's more relaxed because he explained everything thoroughly. They would try some non expensive remedies first before getting into surgeries or expensive medicine. These are the people that really cares about their patients/patrons than making money. I wish we have more vet clinic like this. I wish them success.

My Molly is 15 and struggles with allergies and more recently an eye issue. He easily determined the underlying issue and prescribed a regimen. Molly’s eye noticeably improved within 24 hours.

I felt comfortable with all his recommendations and never felt pressured into any decisions. I left feeling great that my 2 senior dogs received a clean bill of health, and I'll definitely be returning. Note that they plan to move offices in September according to their roadside sign.

Experiencia negativa: Please beware. This is my first time owning a cat and I was never offered a feline leukemia test. After vaccinating my cat I learned that I should get him tested. They gave me false information said that you can not test him after or it will show positive. Then they have invoiced me wrongly. And have been calling and hounding me for 15$ that was their fault in the first place. I feel as if they only care about money and not the pets.

He sat on the floor with her for most of her exam and she loved him. Dogs are great judges of character. He and the tech who helped (I didn't get his name), were judged A-OK.

I had some questions regarding meds and it was sorted right away. The front office - LESLIE and all of them - they know how to listen to understand, and help, and problem solve. Nothing is free, they tried to charge me for the exam, for the ear swab and for the ear drops, but I ended up paying $70 for a small container of ear drops for my small dog! I know they ripped me off big time and I won't be back!! I appreciate honest people and these people who work here were very dishonest with me!!

My cat was super sick and after going to a vet who referred me to an ER, and still no improvement, I decided to take my cat to a new hospital, this is where everything changes. The fantastic Dr Wise was knowledgeable and clearly explained everything to me. Gave me different options and was constantly calling giving me updates on how my cat was doing when she was hospitalized. I am forever grateful with all the amazing doctors here. Whether you live in the area or hours away, please please please just believe me when i say 380 west is the place you want your furry friend to be seen.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my Border Collie in for his nails to be trimmed and his heartworm test. Motley doesn't like his feet touched. So we had to put him out. He did GREAT!! The team here, the Doctor and the tech Makayla, did a wonderful job dealing with Motley. You can tell they love what they do and the care for animals. I will always go back! I have finally found a vet and his team that actually care for their clients! Thank you for everything!
