Neel Veterinary Hospital: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: our dog was extremely ill. We made the decision to have her euthanized. We had good experience with Neel previously so, we took her in to be euthanized. EVERYONE we had contact with was very compassionate as well as very professional. I cannot say enough good things about the eay they dealt with the situation
Experiencia negativa: I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but when it involves the care of our pets, transparency and communication matter. We brought our dog here during an urgent situation. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and welcoming, and he clearly explained the $130 exam fee for the doctor, which we agreed to. After being placed in a room, our dog was taken to the back for evaluation. The veterinarian briefly came out to ask for a short history before examining him. Shortly afterward, we were presented with multiple estimates for diagnostic testing and treatment options ranging from $250-$2100. The problem was that no one had explained what the doctor actually observed during the exam. We received no information about vitals, possible causes, or even a basic assessment. A technician mentioned our dog had calmed down and seemed to be doing better, but beyond that we had no guidance to help us decide how to proceed. Because of this lack of information, we decided to follow up with another veterinarian during normal hours. Before leaving, I asked if we could briefly speak with the doctor about her initial findings. After waiting, we were told she was unavailable and would not be able to speak with us. It was disappointing to pay an exam fee and leave without even a brief explanation of what the veterinarian observed. I completely understand that a diagnosis may require further testing, but basic communication about the exam should still be part of the process. We ultimately had to pay another veterinary clinic to receive the basic assessment we were hoping for. The front desk staff member was excellent, but the lack of communication from the medical team made an already stressful situation much more frustrating.
Experiencia positiva: I’d give them 5 stars, because they objectively saved my dogs life and did a great job. But I wish they would have listened the first time I brought her in and not gaslight me that my dog got into weed. Because 3 days later she got worse, had to go back, found an obstruction, and had to have emergency life saving surgery. Would have saved me a visit and $800, if they listened to me, stopped arguing with me that my dog got into weed, when in fact had an obstruction and her body was shutting down. Thanks for saving her life though!
Experiencia fantástica: My senior dog had a late night emergency on 2/25/26 and the staff was amazing. Sam, the tech that was working, was so sweet and helpful and the doctor that evening was amazing. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and they took great care of my fur baby. The price was very affordable as well. Thank you!! My anxiety went from 100 to zero so fast once we get there.
Experiencia fantástica: This was a good experience. My 3 year old blue nose pitbull that I've had since she was 5 weeks old woke up with a swollen ear. I thought it was calling just a regular veterinary clinic and when I paid up front because walking through 135.00 for the check up. Should I pay that up front waited a little while to get a room so my puppy and I got to walk around outside there's a lot of really funny shops and little mama pop shops around it's a good little strip of wholesome business including you Second Chance thrift store across the street from Neel Veterinary Hospital. The wait for a room and for the nurse to visit was short and secretly figured out that this is my first time I've ever had a veterinarian's office she told me that this is actually an emergency hospital and it's open 24 hours a day with non-stop operation and so looking at your puppy basically this isn't an emergency and this hospital does cost a little more but we provide 24-hour service for emergencies I think that you'll save a lot of money and that there's several veterinary doctors up and down the street on MacArthur and that you should find your puppy a primary doctor like you probably have and gain a relationship and a regular checkup with a basically a family practitioner for the puppy because this really is an emergency hospital and it does cost more because it's an emergency She sat with me and I found she helped me find because I'm walking a close enough to walk to veterinary clinic and she was right it was a regular veterinary clinic so it was about half the price of what it would have cost me there Howard because of the honesty and being humble in the care that they took for my puppy while we were there and me myself and I and the surrounding area and the places that are around there that are so neat if my dog ever has an emergency I pray she doesn't this is definitely the place I'm going to because they really do have their ducks in a row and care for people and their animals as I watch people come in and out while I was waiting for my turn it's a very comfortable place.
Experiencia fantástica: Our five year old kitty Peridot had not been eating and was getting noticeably weaker over the course of several weeks, so we brought her to a local vet who couldn't find anything obvious and sent us home with some pain meds and a $600 bill. A week later she was worse so we took her to a different local vet and left with a possible cause, a $700 bill, and a referral to Neel. We brought her to Neel that evening, where Dr. Chao had a definitive diagnosis within twenty minutes and scheduled her for surgery the following morning to remove a hair tie that was blocking her small intestine. The surgery was handled by Dr. Lavender, who kept us in the loop through the whole process and checked in with us several times during Peri's recovery. The care and professionalism shown by Dr. Lavender and Dr. Chao were miles better than we received from our local vets, and we're so happy to have our kitty back to her mean old self!
Experiencia fantástica: My cat was non-responsive and they were so good to her. The kindness and compassion was very clear, so was the competency. I loved how well they took care of her. They even let me come back and be with her once she was stabilized. They were wonderful. Thank you!
Experiencia negativa: I appreciate Neel being 24/7 and the overnight staff I talked to were knowledgeable and kind, but the overall experience has been terrible. I took my dog in because she was having trouble breathing and was there for a few hours while she was diagnosed with fluid around her lungs then had to bring her home then back about 5 hours later because it could only be drained during the day shift. Took her back and fluid was drained, but felt a little pressured into her getting some more tests. I accepted the extra fees because I love my dog and was told the results would take 24-48 hours. Called after 3 business days and was told that the doctor had to call me, but wouldn’t be able to for another few days. I asked them to send the results to my vet, which they said they would, but only sent the paperwork for everything except for the results. My vet then called Neel and had to be on hold for a while just to talk to a doctor there to get any info, but still never got the full answer and I have not heard from Neel in over 3 weeks since this whole thing started. Just absolutely ridiculous especially after basically charging a mortgage payment to help my dog and I never got any update from them. Started out as a promising trip, but I don’t plan on ever returning.
Experiencia negativa: At one time, way back when they seemed pretty decent.. its more of a cash grab now.. I dont feel like you get as good of care when your never dealing with the same doctor twice. So if your pet needs urgent care get ready to mortgage your house. If your pet is sick and you don't have 3 to 5 grand.. They are Dead. My cat has been sick from a fight. I don't feel like they did a very good exame the 4 times I went there. I wish the Oklahoma City would come up with a better 24/7 clinic.. because for the price you are asked to pay your cat and or dog should be in a sound proof room to help reduce stress. Even our pet care has gotten as bad as America's health care. If you don't have the money.. lay down and die I guess. Im gonna spread the word. More then just here..
Experiencia positiva: Great friendly staff!! Prices were what I expected. I mean, let's be real, they are caring for my fur baby! They put my at ease knowing my RJ would be okay. Plus we can have a progress check up, FOR free.. Thank you for your help!
Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars I would. I grew up in Behtany and since a teen I have always recommended Neel vet and how kind and loving they were until recent years. In recent years I have had 3 emergency situations and since then I absolutely refuse to recommended or even go, especially after the last one. The 2nd to last was a very young iguana who was at the time very new to our home as well. He has all of his needed lights, vitamins, cage, fogger, foods (fresh veggies and pellets) we are not owner's who do bare minimum and my other reptile have an amazing vet (Dr. Minson who is amazing) and are even given anti parasitics regular because we take good care of them. I became very worried late at night and decided to go to neel because I was very worried my new guy had mouth rott. Sat for an hour for them to come, after no testing and ask me questions implying that I wasnt providing the correct food or vitamins but in the end couldnt come up with anything I wasnt providing. I had requested bloodwork when I made the appt and was prepared to pay, they never did it, charged me $100+ and said he was fine. He wasnt he had mouth rott later by our vet and is fine now, with absolutely no thanks to neel. Let fast forward to a few days ago, my mother has just passed and I just paid for her funeral as well as having a brand new puppy gotten a literal 2 weeks before her death. He had just gotten home with us when my mom got sick and we hadn't gotten his shots but he was a little older and I wasnt too concerned in rushing, only that it got done. He became very ill over night and I have seen this sickness before, parvo and thank god we had saved the puppies we had before, one would live 10 years, and the other would live over 7 (and no i did not bring the puppy to a house where another dog had parvo and knew that, this was old houses and no idea there was ever a dog with parvo at our current house) I called neel at 11pm saying please help I need to borrow money to pay for the visit since I just paid for my mother's funeral. The woman on the phone absolutely refused to tell me the cost of a parvo test, not to make him better not to give him a million tests, just the parvo test so I could borrow the money and get him in. I argued yes argued for 10 minutes while falling apart watching my puppy die in front of me after just watching my mother die only a week before I told the woman on the phone all of this and she had no kindness concern nothing but hatefulnees for me all while asking simply for the cost of a parvo test. I think whatever kindness that the workers at neel vet had is long gone and it has been proven to me 3 times and I will not go against what they have shown me again. I think they are over run with people making a dollar instead of people wanting to help those in need and suffering. This is supposed to be an emergency vet who helps people in an emergency when kindness understanding and empathy are most needed. Restart and find better kinder people because reading reviews im very sure im not alone in this feeling.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing experience walking in at 4am. The love and passion shown to Tyson truly proves why they do what they do. Thank you again to the incredible staff!
Thank you for your kind review, Damon! We're happy to hear that our team provided a loving and passionate experience for Tyson. We appreciate your trust in us!
Experiencia negativa: I called this morning to get an appointment for my dog because he was having issues with his leg. Neels is our primary vet service but we were instructed to walk in not only by the automated system but by the front desk assistant Ashley. My brother took him today and we paid the initial fee. The doctor came in and took vitals but she never touched his leg…Horrible. So the assistant comes in with this huge sales pitch/hostage offer of a low end offer of $608 to a high end level of services totaling over $1,000. She said the blood work would be cheaper if you go to your primary care…you are his primary care and have been for over 12 years. My brother left the faculty. SMH….Do you really care or is it about the dollar? Do better and treat people the way you would like to be treated. Horrible..
Experiencia fantástica: During the Jan 2026 snowstorm / freezing weather I was able to take my injured dog for treatment. The care he got was compassionate & professional.
Thank you for your kind review, Barbara! We're happy to hear that our team provided compassionate and professional care for your dog during the snowstorm.
Experiencia fantástica: From the time we got here at 7pm Saturday night during a snow storm the staff really treated us so well! Everyone was so compassionate and really cared about the health of our dog. They was so informative with everything. Unfortunately we lost our dog during this visit but the staff made us feel so much better as they went above and beyond in everything they did. I highly recommend this place for all your animals needs!
Experiencia fantástica: I can't express enough how grateful we are for the vets at Neel! Our baby had a concussion and in the midst of taking care of her, they found out she had a liver shunt. Dr. Lavender kept us informed through the whole process and we can't thank her enough. We HIGHLY recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Our eight-year-old cat was not eating and was very lethargic, more so than normal. So, Friday morning, 1/9/2026, we took her to our vet around the corner to get checked out. She had some infections in the past, and we just chalked it up to being under the weather. Well, it was a worst-case scenario that our cat was anemic and needs a blood transfusion as her levels are dangerously low. That vet didn't have the ability to do it and we were instructed to take her to Neel VH. We called ahead of time and they got her in immediately as she was seen as high risk. They confirmed the anemia, and she would need blood, but she had B blood which is very rare and only in 1-3% of domestic cats. We opted for the antibiotics to see how she responded and they kept her overnight. Saturday, we went back in the afternoon, and her levels were not returning to normal. So, again, they said she needed a blood transfusion, but they had one vial of B Blood, but it was expired. So,fd we made the decision to go through with that. Sunday, we called and her levels were back up to when we brought her in and were told they would send her home with medicine. We gave her medicine that evening, in the morning and once in the afternoon. When it came time to give her evening medicine, she had to eat food so the medicine would not upset her stomach as much. She wouldn't eat much so we ground up some cat food and gave her that and her medicine. Not five minutes later, she started having a lot of troubles breathing so I rushed her back to Neel VH. They took her in immediately. Her levels returned to a lower level than before, she was not producing any more red blood cells, therefore she couldn't fight any more infections and there was no B Blood to use to do a transfusion. So, after talking to multiple vets and techs, we made the impossible decision to end her suffering and let her rest. The outcome is not what we wanted. It was an extremely difficult decision, but we didn't want our dear cat to suffer anymore. The staff was extremely empathetic showing many signs of emotion as they are still human and don't want to see animals suffer. When we made the decision, she escorted me to a very nice, private room, brought our cat in, gave me as much time as I needed and let me facetime with my family for them to say goodbye as well.
Experiencia fantástica: Took my 15 year old dog here 1/5 about 830pm. She was having respitory distress and turning purple on tongue. They got her in immediately and were very kind and helpful. Front desk and vet staff and vet were very empathetic and helpful in keeping us informed what was happening. Unfortunately it was just her time. But they made her comfortable with meds and gave her a blanket. They even waived our exam fee and assisted us in picking out an urn and cremation options. They made a very traumatic and heart breaking situation alot easier to handle. The staff were all attentive and you can tell they care about people and their pets. Thank you for going above and beyond and helping us navigate through this loss. Highly recommend taking your dog here for emergencies.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff have been amazing during my fur baby’s stay. Dr. Donnelly, and everyone in ICU, treated Bentley like family. It is difficult when animals are sick, but they have been so caring. Research was done about his condition and specialists contacted to get him the best care!
Experiencia fantástica: Neel is such an amazing place to take your pet in an emergency situation. I’ve taken one of my dogs there on 2 separate occasions for totally different reasons and they took such great care of her both times. She was in the ICU the first time for 3 days & we got to go visit her each day and spend time with her. She was a rescue and can be timid with new people but they were so sweet to her, made her comfortable & babied her and they have great customer service skills as well. We live roughly an hour away & have used other emergency vets in the past but will only use Neel for any future needs. 10/10.
Experiencia fantástica: Big thanks to Mike, Sam, Lilah, and Dr. Wessels for helping get my cat the medication he needed. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure my cat was taken care of.
Experiencia fantástica: Christmas Eve, with tears in our eyes we had to put our 18 year old baby down after seizures left her hanging to life in pain. We took her to Neel and they were so compassionate and caring with us and so professional and respectful of our sweet pet I wanted to give them more than 5 stars - thank you for your help and kindness in our darkest day.
Experiencia negativa: They only care about the money. I took my dog to urgent vet where she had xrays done and they referred me to neel vet and forward the xrays they had taken. Upon getting there(8pm Saturday)they grabbed her and took her to the back to start an iv. While she was back there they did more xrays without discussing with me that they were doing so. When the dr came in she explained that there was a possible blockage and wanted to hospitalize her overnight and give her fluids and meds to help pass the item. I agreed and told her we were on a limited budget because my husband is deployed and I am a stay at home mom taking care of baby. She gave me an estimate and I agreed to the $2100 for her to be monitored and medicated overnight. The next day (Sunday) they did an ultrasound and said there was no blockage and it was gastritis and colitis and wanted to keep her another day I asked how that would affect the estimate and the dr told me it wouldn’t change it much so I agreed. The following day (Monday) the dr TEXT me and said her bloodwork indicated she had pancreatitis. To receive bad news in TEXT is absurd. I asked what could cause this and the dr said being introduced to a bad bacteria, eating trash/stuff she’s not supposed to, or stress. The dr said she recommended keeping her hospitalized for 3 additional days and doing panoquell injections and said my total would be over 3k. I called up there and discussed with the dr what we could do I told them I wanted to pick her up with the medications they wanted to prescribe and take her home. Upon getting there (245pm) the put me in the icu waiting room and the dr came in to discuss the estimate with me and prior to doing any additional treatment my estimate had gone up $700 and said well that’s for the additional hospitalization and meds but when I asked prior to that she said it wouldn’t change the estimate much. I told her we could not afford to hospitalize her any more and I’d like to take her home(2nd time). When they brought my dog to me her rear end was caked in feces. They told me she hadn’t had diarrhea since Sunday 7pm so they just let her sit soiled overnight and into Monday evening. I asked for them to bring me something so I could clean her up and nothing was ever brought to me. At 320ish pm she urinated on the floor and I sat for maybe 15more mins waiting on someone to come in thinking I’d be given discharge summary and meds. No one came in and I could hear multiple people in the back yapping at the desk. I opened the door and asked if she could go outside to go to the bathroom and she was still whining. An assistant/tech came and grabbed her and I followed her through the treatment area to watch my dog use the bathroom and there was a big Great Pyrenees freely roaming the treatment area which my dog does not like unfamiliar dogs and could potentially cause stress to her which the dr claimed could be the reason for the pancreatitis. After the bathroom we sat until 411pm when the assistant/tech came in and asked if I wanted her to receive her meds or not which I had already paid for or suggested I come back tomorrow. I then told her that we are going home and not coming back (3rd time) so if I paid for them I’d like her to receive all her care. She took my dog and said the injection takes 30mins I said okay and asked yet again that she be cleaned up form the feces caked on her rear(2nd time). A whole hour later my dog was still not brought to me. Getting checked out was also a huge issue and put my over my word count. But there was no sympathy from any of the staff and they made an already difficult situation even worse. When I got home (7pm) called and left a voicemail for the office manager to give me a call and still have no heard from her (3pm today)
Experiencia fantástica: The staff is very caring, professional, and warm. It is apparent that they are all there because of a love for animals. I have used their services numerous times for our family pets and a few strays and I have always had a good experience. I highly recommend Neel.
Experiencia fantástica: Over the past 45 days our dogs have gotten the Trifecta of Excellence from Neel Veterinary Hospital. 1. Dr. French and the entire staff at 1:00 am when our puppy was sick, 2. Dr. Waltman and the entire staff when our older gal got sick on a Saturday, and 3. Dr. Loomis and the entire staff for a regular vet appointment on a SUNDAY! Dr. French, Dr. Waltman, and Dr. Loomis treated our gals like they were the only pets in the world when they were with us. They answered questions and educated us about hazards growing in the yard, what to look for at home to determine if they are getting better or need to come back to the hospital, and how to give medicines effectively. It doesn't matter to us if Betty Boop and YaYa see different vets when they go to Neel, because the computerized system means whoever sees them has immediate access to their complete medical history. The quality and continuity of care from one vet to another is remarkable. From each person who checked us in to the Veterinary Technicians - I wish I could remember every single person's name to include in this review. In addition to excellent emergency care, Neel provides weekend appointments for routine pet care, and we won't hesitate to board Betty Boop and YaYa with them when needed. They also carry the prescription food Betty Boop needs. We will never run out since they are open 24 hours. Thank you ALL for your responsiveness, bedside manner, and love! Neel Veterinary Hospital is an OKC treasure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Experiencia fantástica: I would just like to say that neels vet hospital treated my baby so good and they were so patient with us and her. Thank you for caring for our girl!
Thank you for your kind review, Jennifer! We're happy to hear that our team provided good care and patience for your girl. We appreciate your trust in us!
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was very attentive and took great care of our small dog. We would highly recommend this clinic.
Thank you for your kind review, Myra! We're happy to hear that our staff provided attentive care for your small dog. We appreciate your recommendation!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Lavender was amazing! I was traveling and had a dog emergency. I was able to be seen the same day. Dr Lavender was very knowledgeable and explained all my options. I highly recommend her.
Thank you for your kind review, Alisha! We're happy to hear that Dr. Lavender provided knowledgeable and prompt care for your dog's emergency. We appreciate your recommendation!
Experiencia fantástica: If your pet is in an emergency situation, Neel Veterinary hospital should be your only choice! My dog was in serious trouble. Her chances for survival weren't great. The first person we saw was Cody, her nurse. He was not only knowledgeable but incredibly kind. She was immediately put into ICU. I was told to prepare because she was very ill. Dr. Waltman came in to speak to me, She gave me hope. I stayed 24/7 at the hospital and they allowed me to sleep in the area(cage type thing) with her so I saw exactly how they treated all the animals there. WOW, these people are amazing! I truly believe if it not for Dr. Waltman and the other Vets, (there were several) Donna wouldn't be here today! It's crazy expensive but for me, worth every single penny. Thank you to all the employees from the front desk to the guy who keeps the towels and blankets washed, I love you all! Thank you for saving Donna!
Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough wonderful things about Neel Veterinary Hospital. Our dog recently had to undergo urinary surgery, and the entire team was incredible from start to finish. The surgery itself went perfectly, and while he was in the ICU, they took such attentive, compassionate care of him. What meant the most to me was how consistently they kept me updated — every step of the way, they let me know how he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind during a really stressful time. By the time we picked him up, I felt confident that he had been in the best hands possible. I’m so grateful for their professionalism, kindness, and excellent care. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a veterinary team that truly goes above and beyond.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you guys for helping our Bella have her five cute little corgi puppies. We were worried she wouldn’t make it, you guys gave us hope and helped deliver her pups. We appreciate y’all’s help and glad we were in good hands.
Thank you for your kind review, Atlanta! We're happy to hear that our team could help Bella safely deliver her adorable corgi puppies. We appreciate your trust in us and are glad we could provide hope and support.
Experiencia fantástica: Neat and clean, fast service, very friendly staff and doctors. No unnecessary tests… only what’s needed. Dr Miranda was great with our pup who suddenly started limping. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for your kind review, Shilpi! We're happy to hear that Dr. Miranda and our team provided efficient and friendly care for your pup. We appreciate your recommendation!
Experiencia negativa: They only care about $ They do NOT care about you nor your pet Took my dog in in critical condition. They collected 3k within 10 minutes of my arrival then let my dog suffer waiting twelve hours to treat him. I'd give negative stars if I could. Took him to my regular vet who said timely care would have asked his life.
Experiencia fantástica: I went there yesterday, They have an extremely nice staff. And the prices were fair for an emergency vet. I don't want to bash another emergency pet hospital but I had left one earlier just dealing with the receptionist because they were rude, and unhelpful. This place was wonderful tho They gave me a list of treatment options and prices, the poor assistant there went over it with me about 5 times as I ask for different estimates for different treatment options and never once made me feel bad about it. This is an edit because if I could give this place 100 stars I would I had to take my dog back today because she still wasn't feeling well this place is amazing everyone truly loves animals and goes above and beyond there jobs. Wonderful place with great employees. I highly recommend you go here for any emergency
Thank you for your kind review. We're happy to hear that our staff provided a positive experience and clear treatment options for you. We appreciate your trust in us for your emergency needs.
Experiencia fantástica: 100% recommend Neel Vetetinary hospital! We were visiting OKC from out of state and had an emergency with one of our pups that had us stressed and worried. Dr Hodgson quickly diagnosed the issue and treated our pup and had her back in our care. We were relieved by the quick and compassionate work and are so thankful for the outcome. Great place and great staff!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. French and her overnight team, from the receptionist to the vet assistant were all very caring and thoughtful during an unforeseen emergency visit that resulted in us having to make the difficult decision to put down our k9 companion of 13 years. I would wholeheartedly recommend Neel vet.
Thank you for your kind review, Devra. We're deeply sorry for your loss and grateful that Dr. French and our team could provide caring support during such a difficult time. We appreciate your trust and recommendation.
Experiencia negativa: Never ever ever bring an animal in an emergency here. Will definitely charge for fees that they said you didn't have to pay when the animal dies. (That won't be before you pay an average of $5000.00 to try keep it alive.) Brought a very injured turtle here, thinking they might be able to do something with it. Asked for the animal back after it died because $50 for cremation was crazy after the over $100 I had already pay just to be told it wasn't going to make it. The front desk said, we can't give it back but we will not be charging for the disposal. This was months ago, moving forward to today, they are threatening to send to collection $50 that I "owe" them. Lesson of the story, take wild animals to wildcare and you're pet emergencies to a better place.
Experiencia fantástica: Over the last year we have taken two of our pets to be treated at Neel. Each time, the staff was prompt in helping our pets especially when our dog was actively seizing. Our most recent pet spent a week in the ICU and was given amazing care while there. He is now home because of them. The staff is compassionate and they do what they can to keep prices down.
Experiencia fantástica: I do not have enough things great to say about Neel veterinary if you’re in need of someone who is a decent human being and Actually loves pets and is doing their job for the right reason. This is the place to go. I Never had the ability to share this before now but shortly before this past Christmas we had to rush my Great Dane to the vet for some serious symptoms she was old about 11 or 12. We had rescued her from the Humane Society when she was about five she was a foster fail and I could tell you why from the day I met her I knew this dog was gonna leave a lasting impact and not only on my life, but the world and I can promise you she did just that sadly on this day our poor pup could not be saved and we had to let her go but I wanna sit in here and say that I want to thank the neel veterinary team that helped us that day and all of you know who you are but you guys are the most incredible people I’ve ever met and wanna thank you for treating Us like decent human beings, knowing that we were in a situation that we would run from at any cost if we could and to the doctor that held my hand the entire time well also cry your eyes out the entire time some would call it unprofessional however I would call it having a heart I know that god sent you to me during that time of need. I would highly recommend Neel in any pet situation whether it’s a simple wellness check or you need someone to be there when your world is falling apart, and your best friend is having to cross the rainbow bridge. I can promise you that you will not regret it. I want to thank you all again for being there for my family. Never forget my sweet pup as she loves you from heaven above and remember to always remember the moments that come and go and remind you of why you do your job you guys are incredible people. I apologize for the long review, but after months of sitting on things of thinking, I just had to say something.
Experiencia negativa: My friend took her sweet 7 year old frenchie to Neels vet. They only had 1 vet there. Had to wait for hours never really got an answer what was going on with him sent him home and the next day he died!!!!! All they worry about is MONEY. They are always shoving quotes in your face before they even treat your pet! Have to put 130.00 down for a deposit! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVING PETS TO THIS PIECE OF CRAP VET! They are absolutely HORRIBLE!! They do not even deserve one star!
Experiencia negativa: Took our dog there after regular vet exhausted all options and access to equipment. NEELS website offers diagnostic options like Cscan, ultrasound hyperbaric oxygen chamber. I called first with the referral and later (about 5 pm) walked in with a dog unable the breathe well, panting and belly breathing with history (records provided by GV) of bronchitis. To top it off he just had TPLO surgery and not exactly steady on his own feet. Reception finally asked if she could help after they wanted ID, while holding my sick dog, and struggling to juggle him without injurying him any further. They took him back and observed our dog for 2 hours, no updates, word or any kind of communication the whole time. FInally did their intake and put me in a room and brought my dog back to me. Asked to provide them with a run down of his history, which I did even though I confirmed they had his vets notes. Vet came in after another 30 minutes, listened to his heart and lungs. Offered drugs and referred me to OSU Vet hospital because they had more options (lung flush, mRI, Cscan...) why? What? Then when checking out they charged me almost $400. When I asked if it was for the visit and meds, was told yes, then another person took over and said "For Pickles right?". Um no thats not my dog. They cancelled the charge on my card, gave me a different amount and took my payment again. What a mess! I will never again go back to them. My husband drove our dog to OSU in Stillwater today. Within 45 minutes of him walking through their doors their team had completed an ultrasound, all vitals and informed us our boy had 106 fever, sludge in his gall bladder and diminished lung capacity. He's still there and at least we know he's getting the care we were so desperately needing on Monday. Moral of this review... steer CLEAR of Neels. Unorganized and no better than a basic neighborhood Vet with overinflated prices and subpar care.
Experiencia fantástica: Went in after hours with our dachshund who was so clearly having skin allergies. They took a good look agreed discussed a great plan, gave him a shot sent home with meds and the itching has stopped. Thank you so much. Copper is so thankful and so are we. Great Dr!
Experiencia fantástica: In April our dog chased a rabbit into a bush and ended up with severe injuries to her eye. One eye removal, multiple infections, a final major surgery, and three months later she is finally healing, happy and back to herself. Both Dr. Lavender and Dr. French were absolute answers to prayer during the long process. Their guidance with her care and the decisions we had to make was priceless and I'm not sure I could have handled it without having Dr. Lavender as a constant resource to make sure I was doing the right thing with Piper's care at home. Neel Vet has always been our go-to for "unexpected care" and now more than ever I have an appreciation for the level of concern they show for both our pets and us as caregivers. I could write a novel, but please see our happy goofy one-eyed girl as the best recommendation I could give.
Experiencia fantástica: Took my German Shepherd here because he had a very bloated stomach after a splenectomy. We waited for a little in the waiting room, then they took him back and ran some tests on him. Turns out the previous vet had left some gauze from the splenectomy. He was also diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma (which is heartbreaking). Very professional staff that took awesome care of him. Dr.Lavender has stayed in touch with me and provided advice on care after taking him home. It was a little pricey, but I would go back again for the quality of care.
Experiencia fantástica: We had to say goodbye to our beloved dog of 11 years, and Dr. Fryer and the entire Neel team were simply amazing. They were compassionate, professional, and made us feel truly cared for during such a heartbreaking time. The clinic was spotless and welcoming, and we will forever be grateful for their kindness. Highly recommend Neel for any pet emergency.
Experiencia positiva: Maybe we were both in the wrong idk ♀️ but food for thought; I actually have an update. The worker Delicia, has horrible customer service. I had noticed after I came home that I didn’t receive the eye ointment for my dog, that was paid for (to our understanding) well like any normal human would do. I called and explained to them that I didn’t receive something that I had paid for. And initially I was talking to somebody else, then got sent to Delicia, well she presumed to tell me that we didn’t get charged for it, and they sent me through the ringer for 10-12 minutes I was calm and explained the same thing over and over again. When DELICIA got on the phone she failed to tell me that we got charged twice for the visit, and that the dr refunded me. She decided to argue with me, then asked me why are you yelling? Then HANGS UP ON ME. Well I have been calm saying the same things over again. It’s get aggravating. So I decided to go up there and that’s when she decided to inform us that we got refunded cause of them way over charging us. But if I wouldn’t have called. They would have just kept the money. This girl doesn’t deserve a job. Or needs a really good teaching lesson. But Skylar is absolutely amazing. More workers need to be like her!! And a side note, you never know who your gonna be on the phone with. So I’d consider rethinking your strategies. Cause I pay for your service and the customer is always right That’s the reason I gave 3 stars.. I was upset for a very good reason, and she handled it very unprofessionally.. if there is every a customer under distress, due to a mistake on the business part. You don’t argue, you learn to deescalate, and find the solution. But she failed to tell me very important information that she said she was tryin to tell me but the only thing she said was we didn’t get charged for it and even asked me to send a copy of the invoice. She had plenty of opportunities to tell me but decided to worsen the problem. And don’t ever ask me why I’m yelling or ever tell me to calm down. I know me and a whole bunch of other people in the world that it infuriates them even more. I will only EVER come back for the night shift people. They did such an amazing job. I love dr. Bays!!! My baby was having an allergic reaction to the busy bones. Scared me and my partner. We live in Norman and drove all the way up there. Worth the trip!! The first 2 pics are his face and eyes swollen. Major allergic reaction. Then not even 8 hrs later he is almost 100% back to normal. I am very grateful for the staff and the doctors. I will definitely use them for any more emergencies (hopefully not)!
Experiencia fantástica: Neel’s Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Lavender quite literally saved our German Shepherd’s life! Our boy, Axl Rose’s stomach flipped..something we’ve always feared with deep chested dogs…and we thankfully recognized the signs right away. We called Neel’s, and they told us to bring him in immediately. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Lavender and the incredible staff moved quickly, walked us through every option, and got him into surgery without hesitation. Within 48 hours, we had our goofy, lovable Axl back home where he belongs. Their care went above and beyond and they kept in constant communication, updated us 24/7, and even sent pictures of him during his ICU stay so we knew how he was doing every step of the way. We will forever be grateful for their skill, compassion, and dedication. If you want the very best for your fur family, we cannot recommend Dr. Lavender and the team at Neel’s enough!
Experiencia negativa: Oh how I wish I could give this place negative stars. They are absolutely horrible and beyond inconsiderate of people and their animals. I called for help with my puppy and the little girl who answered the phone was highly disrespectful and when I asked for recommendations on a nonprofit place I could take my puppy to, she had an attitude and basically hung up in my face for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I would never take my pet here and if you can avoid them please, do so. I would rather drive the extra few minutes to the other 24 hour vet location than allow them to mistreat me and my pets! I mean, just look at the few reviews before mine… Clearly they are a terrible choice for a veterinarian!!!
Experiencia negativa: Edit: it was life or death for us and our Daisy passed the next morning. Think the stress of having brought her here first then getting refused service, she picked up on our stress and didn't make it much longer. Would give less stars is possible. If you have an exotic, dont go here. Told us they accept rabbits go bring her in now theres no appointments needed, get there after traveling for an hour and get told that "oh our vet has already left, no one told you to go ahead and bring her in". Only thing they did do was tell us another emergency vet that actually accepted her and got her fast treatment. Veg is where its at, not Neels. At least thank yall for telling me about an amazing hospital that is super friendly and does what they can. Please do better to inform people of when your vets will be there so its not life or death for someones family member.
Experiencia negativa: Waited 5 hours to not get the medicine we needed. After waiting 2 hours to be seen, someone came to give us outpatient shots. But we wanted to talk to a tech. 30 minutes later we were given a room where we sat for another 30 minutes to talk to a tech, then 30 minutes to talk to the Dr, but the Dr had to rush out and we waited again for the tech. Finally got a plan together to treat our dog and then they forgot to give our dog the medicine we were there to get. This used to be a reputable clinic but now we wont be back. They take forever to do anything and they cant even communicate with themselves let alone the customers with sick and dying animals.
Experiencia negativa: I brought my bunny Gilbert in because his front tooth was noticeably sticking out and causing him discomfort. During the visit, the decision was made to extract the tooth, and he was prescribed medication. Less than 24 hours later, Gilbert passed away. I am heartbroken and struggling to understand what went wrong. I trusted your team to help him, and now I’m left with more questions than answers. It is extremely upsetting to lose a pet so suddenly, especially when they were brought in for what seemed like a treatable issue. While I understand that unexpected outcomes can happen, I strongly feel that more thorough care, communication, and follow-up should have been provided—especially when treating such a delicate animal. I hope you will take this seriously and consider what could be improved in situations like this. No one should have to go through what I did without a clearer understanding or reassurance that everything possible was done.
Experiencia fantástica: Neel Veterinary rocks! Kallie is our 6-month old Irish Wolfhound, 65 pounds of maniacal lunacy. Suddenly in the night she vomited and fell apart. As it were the start of the weekend, our primary vet couldn’t take her in for three days. By Sunday morn, she was dying. We traveled the full hour and 15 to OKC. She was admitted and immediately attended to. By that evening she was stable. Abdominal surgery the following morning revealed intussception, basically the large intestine like a garden hose run over by a mower. Fixed it! The ICU team took such good care of Kallie. They did not sugarcoat her post-op condition. It was serious. I went so far as to get the tractor to dig a grave. The surgeon, Dr Lavender, is a Gift from God. Kallie is home several days before we expected.
Experiencia negativa: On January 10th, 2025 we brought my great dane into Neel's for an emergency. She was having neurological issues such as not responding to her name, dragging her left hind leg with toe flip, she was dazed and confused, she did not want to move or stand up. She had other worrisome symtoms which included not eating (she was very food motivated), her feet would not respond to touch, all four feet were very cold as well as her stomach, she was standing with her legs hunched, she wasn't panting in situations she would usually pant in, and when we finally got her to try a piece of food, she would bite it and then shake her head to spit it out, but then try to bite it again, almost like her body and head were fighting each other. When we took her to Neel's they immediately focused on her leg and said they were taking her back to get an X-ray on it. We got called into a room about an hour later and when the doctor came in, they had not taken a leg x-ray. Instead, without doing any tests, she said it was an arthritis flare-up. They did do a blood test after that to make sure her kidneys were functioning as the medicine they prescribed could affect kidneys. They sent us home with Gabapentin and the appointment notes, which noted "her condition significantly improved while here, which is great!" Considering she had not been given any medicine while at Neel's, I don't understand how and arthitis flare-up would magically improve while there for 2.5 hours. We then took her to our usual vet who did a full blood panel and found her red blood cells were very low. We believe she had a stroke, but Neel's did not do anything to help our dog. The doctor told us strokes are very rare and would not listen to us (mind you she was a 10 year old great dane). I have gone here a few times and loved them, but now I will not be back.
Experiencia fantástica: Neel Veterinary Hospital has always taken great care of our dogs, we have been using them off and on throughout nearly the last two decades...and now that they have a regular clinic for regular/annual pet health and check-up's.... It's a full healthcare system...you got your ER, ICU, surgical suite, rehab...and your pets regular health care team all in one place. It's sorta like our human versions...(Integris, Mercy, SSM..etc) You got your doctor's all connected to the same system. That's how Neel vet feels now. If my dog has an emergency....they already know us and our pets history...if it's a regular visit they have the best staff and health technology ready to care for our pets. Just like humans... sometimes your regular PCP needs to consult a specialist... it's cool that Neel can do this just like your favorite hospital system.
Experiencia negativa: They have gone downhill the past few years and I'm guessing it has to do with the new management. The wait times are ridiculous (over 4 hours from start to finish and literally all that was done was blood work and urinalysis before hospitalizing overnight). Then so far over an hour waiting for the dog be ready to go when told it needed to be picked up within 24 hours from intake (less than 30 minutes to go as I write this). The rooms have run down chairs with peeling pleather and the vet chair's seat was even cracked. It looked like there was mold on the vents though it could just be dust, but clearly not cleaned in some time. The staff is friendly and helpful but the overall management feels non-existent. Why don't you have enough staff when regular vets are closed knowing you're going to be slammed being one of the only 24 hour vets in the city?
Experiencia fantástica: My pup gizmo was attacked by a pitbull, He wasn't expected to make it, lost his hind leg and no one was sure his other leg would recover. It's been a month now since his surgery and treatments. His recovery has been nothing short of a miracle! Major shoutouts to Dr. Lavender for saving my puppy!
Experiencia negativa: Was referred here for an emergency bleeding cat by Petsmart. Bright my cat in because she was having some type of skin condition that led to her biting a hole in her foot. They did not thoroughly examine her, blamed us for her having fleas and said that was the problem, overcharged us for some crappy flea meds that were supposed to last 3 months that didn’t last 1 month and did not even address her bleeding foot. $300 later we feel SCAMMED! My cat still has the skin condition and no fleas so we are back at square one. They did not even make an effort to find out what was going on and then rather than telling us the amount of the bill they just asked if we had the cash to pay for it right now. If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Experiencia negativa: I don't know how to feel about this visit. I am grateful they was able to stabilize my baby but I do feel like the staff tried to play on my feeling about my dog. Pretty much telling me if I don't give you 4 thousand dollars my dog will die. Yet it being 4 days later and my dog is fine. I did get a second opinion and found alot of things that were told to me were false. The second opinion also told me they can do the surgery for 1500 less than what you quoted me. His kidneys are not failing which you also told me. You told me he had and infection but didn't want to give me meds for it. When I 1st brought my baby to Neal's in 2021, I thought the place was awsome But now it's all about how much money you have. I am very disappointed in this visit and for sure saying that I will not bring my toma back nor would I recommend this place to anyone. Maybe show some compassion for the owners of these animals because alot of the animals you see ate considered family and not just throw an invoice at them and demand money.
Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I are deeply grateful to the ER team who cared for our dog, Emma. Being in the veterinary field myself, I’ve witnessed many euthanasias, and I know how heavy those moments are for pet owners. But being on the other side, as Emma’s mom this time was far more painful than I ever imagined. We want to sincerely thank Dr. Smith for her compassionate and human approach, and the entire staff for treating us with such patience and kindness during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Thank you for helping Emma feel safe and loved until the very end. We’ll never forget the care and empathy you gave us.
Experiencia negativa: We arrived at 930 pm with our 2 year old Jack Russell having nausea/vomiting and abdominal discomfort. We were there almost 4 hours, 2 of which were in the waiting room just waiting to be seen. Finally, when we were put in a room, the nurse took a look at her and then we had to wait another hour for the Dr to come in. The remainder of the time was us waiting for them to give her a shot, get her prescriptions and the final check out. I feel like if you’re going to be a 24 hour clinic that sees minor and major emergencies, then they should be better staffed, especially for the cost. Overall, the Dr was very knowledgeable, helpful and everyone was apologetic and very friendly. I decided to do this review out of my own personal experience, not to criticize, but to let people know my frustration and to warn others not to expect a quick in and out.
Experiencia fantástica: Neel and their staff are the best! We drive all the way across town for our cat to be seen by them. They never rush you, take time to listen to your concerns and ask questions. They treat my sweet cat like I treat her, with great care, patience and love. Their facility is top notch with the best trained staff, technology and education. I would not trust my pet's health to anyone else. Thank you Dr. Roberson and Sarah and all of the staff who work hard to provide exceptional compassionate care.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our sick cat to an urgent care vet and they referred us to Neel for a higher level of care. It was an extremely scary day full of uncertainty, and the staff at Neel were so compassionate, understanding, and patient with us. They got her in quickly, updated us frequently, and figured out what was wrong with her quickly. Unfortunately they found that she was positive for FeLV and we had to put her down. I'm grateful that they were able to do that test before the days of intensive care and blood transfusions that would have been very costly for us. We were able to be with her in her last moments and the staff were so considerate and kind during one of our hardest days. They also sent a personalized sympathy card in the mail afterwards that was so thoughtful. I'm so thankful for Neel Vet Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: We had to take our cat Opie to the emergency vet quite late one night, and sadly we had to put him down. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, and everyone at Neel was so kind to both us and Opie. They did everything they could for him, and for us. I wasn't going to make a review, but today we got a card in the mail from them. I owe an enormous thanks to the vet for doing all he could for my boy, as well as the rest of the staff. We'll forever be grateful for how they treated out baby.
We appreciate your review even during a very hard time. Your kind words are deeply appreciated, and we're grateful for the trust you placed in our veterinary hospital. Providing a compassionate and peaceful environment for your pet's final moments is at the core of what we do. If there's anything more we can do for you or if you have additional feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out. Wishing you comfort and healing during this difficult time.
Experiencia fantástica: Neel Veterinary Hospital and Dr Barnes took great care of our dog Gigi, who suddenly took ill. The doctor and staff were knowledgable, caring, and empathetic in the treatment of our dog as we had to make the difficult decision to let our precious dog go.
Thank you for sharing your experience during such a difficult time, Priscilla Bordeaux. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we are grateful for the trust you placed in our veterinary hospital. We know saying goodbye is never easy, and we are honored to have provided a compassionate and peaceful environment for your beloved pet's final moments. We extend our heartfelt condolences. Experiencia fantástica: I can’t thank Dr. Lavender and their team enough for saving my dog’s life! When we discovered a mast cell tumor, we were terrified, but their expertise and incredible communication made all the difference. They walked us through every step—diagnosis, treatment options, and surgery—with clarity and compassion. Dr. Lavender was always available to answer questions, easing our worries during such a scary time. Thanks to their skillful care and thorough follow-up, my dog is thriving. They truly went above and beyond, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to any pet parent facing a serious diagnosis!
Hi Erryn, your feedback about our team's strong compassion has made our day! Creating a positive and caring atmosphere is at the core of what we do, and it's incredibly rewarding to hear that our efforts have resonated with you. Your words are a testament to our team's dedication, and we're excited to continue providing the warmth you and your pet deserve during every visit. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Experiencia negativa: I had a wellness appointment scheduled for 1:30 PM. I arrived at 1:15 PM and asked to take a seat with my pet. After waiting 1 /12 hours I was still not seen. While sitting in the waiting room I made an appointment at Petsmart for the next day. I left after notifying the woman at the desk that I was leaving. I was seen at Petsmart the next day. I was in and out within 45 minutes.
We apologize for the long wait and any inconvenience this caused during your visit. Your feedback is important, and we will review our scheduling process to improve wait times in the future. Please feel free to contact us directly to discuss your experience further.
Experiencia negativa: Long story short I had to take my dog somewhere else to get checked because he was acting so abnormal. They put him on the schedule for ultra sound and told us to come back at 7am and then I asked what the schedule looked like and it was going to be til 2pm. I left and said no I don’t think we have time to wait. I go to the vet on I-240 and western and they told me my dog was about to die. Thankfully after 3 full days and nights, and surgery included he survived. Never going back to Neels again. Also they were gonna charge too much for overnight stay. Don’t waste your time here and go to Animal Emergency Center (open 24/7). At Neels, all they do is steal your money, make you wait, and have no sympathy as well. Don’t recommend at all.
Dear Yareli,
We’re truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and understand how frightening it must have been to see your dog so unwell. We're relieved to hear he is now recovering—that’s what matters most. Our emergency and specialty teams aim to prioritize the most critical cases first, which can unfortunately result in wait times that feel uncertain or frustrating, especially when every moment feels urgent. We also understand that cost is a major concern, and we strive to be as transparent as possible while providing high-level care.
That said, we never want anyone to feel dismissed or unsupported. If you’re open to it, we’d welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly, review your experience, and see if there's anything we can clarify or learn from. Please feel free to reach out to us by phone—we’re here to listen.
Experiencia fantástica: They did a great job of treating my Diabetic Dog. He had become Hypoglycemic and we called a couple emergency vet hospitals and were told it would be a 3 hour wait after explaining his situation. The Neel staff were the only ones that said bring him in and we’ll see where he’s at on his vitals when he gets here. As soon as I took him inside they were very knowledgeable and helped get him stabilized quickly. They were very nice and explained his situation thoroughly. They had to hospitalize him overnight and took great care of him. They were really easy to work with and even let us visit him in the ICU before we left. I am really thankful for them because I don’t think my pup would’ve made it if it wasn’t for the great care that he received.
It was our pleasure to have been here for you and your pet, Byanka. Thank you for your fantastic words about our team and Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: When I called initially after being directed to Neel by my general veterinarian, I was pleasantly surprised to be told come on in right now to be seen. From my arrival to my baby’s surgery today, all the staff have been exceptionally kind, communicative, thorough, and understanding. It’s made this traumatic event they arose out of no where so much more tolerable. As a dog mom, my furry baby means as much to me as my human children. I know my pup is in good hands with people who truly care.
It was our pleasure to have been here for you and your pet, Lisa. Thank you for your fantastic words about our team and Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: We brought in our Stella bear who was dying. She was old and we knew it was time. Our regular vet said that we would need to wait until the next day since it was close to closing time, but we knew she wasn't going to make it. My wife texted Neel and they said to bring her right on in. Our baby just wanted one last car ride and when we arrived she was barely hanging on. While doing the intake questions, she passed away in my daughter's arms before we could have her euthanized. Neel took her back anyway, verified she was gone, and placed her ever so lovingly in a box-shaped casket, wrapped in a soft cloth, looking as if she were sleeping and did all of that free of charge. The girl at the front this day was ever so kind and explained all our options to us as far as aftercare. We'll never forget her kindness and empathy. Thank you Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Thank you for sharing your experience during such a difficult time, Dustin Bishop. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we are grateful for the trust you placed in our veterinary hospital. We know saying goodbye is never easy, and we are honored to have provided a compassionate and peaceful environment for your beloved pet's final moments. We extend our heartfelt condolences. If you need further support or have additional feedback, please reach out.
Experiencia fantástica: We have five Guinea Pigs and the exotic vets at Neel are the best! One of our girls had some cysts that had to be removed and Dr Fryer and Nicole brought all their expertise into the surgery and our girl is just fine! We also had a piggy who Dr Fryer had to treat for cancer. Unfortunately we were unable to save her but the Neel team was amazingly caring and so patient with us. I would not take my piggies anywhere else!
We are grateful for the opportunity to assist with your pet’s needs. Thank you for sharing your feedback about our hospital and team.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our dog in without notice for treatment. It turned into something much more than we had expected. Neel’s staff and doctors kept me updated each step of the way and then showed real compassion when delivering the bad news of Jaxon’s terminal condition. We would recommend Neel’s to anyone needing compassionate timely and qualified care for their animals. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: My mom brought her chihuahua in tonight because she was having complications during labor all day. Unfortunately two of the 4 didn't make it. But neels went above and beyond with the reassurance and care. I went with them to pick her and the babies up. The staff was really sweet and explained everything a couple times since we are running on no sleep. Even asked if we wanted to bury the two that passed. Above and beyond compassion during such a difficult day. Thank you guys!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Kayla Delmas was amazing with my aggressive cat Cashew after he ingested a toxic dose of some medication. Would definitely recommend Dr Kayla Delmas and the assistant that helped me with cost!
Thank you Morgan for your excellent feedback. It is clients like you who make us smile and we cannot wait to share your review with our entire veterinary team.
Experiencia fantástica: Every one I encountered over phone, text message, and especially in person was amazing. Very nice and helpful, very informative about the payment process and the wellness of my cat. Took my calls at all times to let me know my boy was sleeping safely. They did a good job
It was our pleasure to have been here for you and your pet, Chris. Thank you for your fantastic words about our team and Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: We have had 4 instances where we need Neel. Each time was for a different but the first two situations did not have a good outcome. But this was not Neels fault. On our last visit we took our 10 mo old Borzoi in with something going on but we could not figure it out. Upon arriving Mishka wa take back quickly and treatment started quickly. The on call doctor immediately sterner running test and looking for answers. Testing wet on throughout the assessment. It was determined that he had a possible GVT so he rushed to emergency surety. He was treated for the GVT and the next day test came back that he also had Canine Coronavirus and Kennel Cough ( vaccinated for both). Agressive antibiotics were started and I am happy to say the now about 3 weeks later he appears to be headed the right way. Through everything the staff and Doctors were amazing at keeping us informed and up to date. We had zero surprises in the bill or the outcome. After we go home we got daily calls checking on his and our wellbeing and working to make sure all was well. We will never forget the care and compassion we were shown by Dr Lavender and the staff at Neel.

Experiencia negativa: I brought in my sick bird. When I get there, she is active and moving around. After they take her away, charge me for xrays; that they never call me about the results, they offer her to stay in the ice for $600. After spending $450 for this visit, unfortunately I could not afford that extra money so I take her home with some prescribed meds. They tell me to give her the pain meds as soon as i get home. The ride home, 45 minutes, she doesn't move at all. When we get home, she's still not moving. We give her the pain meds the vet says to give her, she moves even less. We had no instructions on care for her with thise high dose of meds. We carefully put her back in her cage. She slowly climbs to her perch and shortly later she falls hard. We hold her while we are absolutely devastated. She died in our hands. Not 2-3 hours from leaving the vet......instant heartache to both my husband and I. I do NOT recommend this cet to anyone.
We are so sorry for your loss. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and if you are open to discussing your experience with us further, please reach out to our hospital directly.
Experiencia fantástica: We have used Neel for all of our pets emergency needs. The ICU Dr and staff were wonderful! I hope we do not have to revisit but recommend to anyone needing emergency vet care. ***There is usually a wait (seeing critical patients first) but when we arrived on Thursday evening, we were seen immediately
We can’t begin to tell you how happy we were to get your feedback, Chassi. We will be sharing your review with our entire team and look forward to seeing you again.
Experiencia negativa: My wife brings our Pigwigen, because she's not doing well you take her from my wife's side. Do you think that was the best idea to take that little bird away from someone she knew and put her in my place without a common face. That is plain cruelty on your behalf and lack of love for the animals that you think you are helping. I had to bury her tonight after she came and seen y'all and hoping for something good. My wife received little information from you because you didn't care enough. I deeply regret that I'm housebound and I wasn't unable to be there for her when she needed me. I do not fully blame this company for my bird's death but, I do see them as a contributing factor of giving my little bird more stress than she needed in the last hours of her life. I am happy to know that I was able to give her comfort in the last moments of her brief life with us she died in my beard in my hands. It doesn't matter if you're overstaffed or overwhelmed every animal deserves the right to be treated as they better.
Experiencia fantástica: Had to bring my dog in for an emergency appointment after he jumped out of my car going 40 mph. The staff here was nothing but quick, kind, and professional during our visit (this was the very first time I had been there, by the way). Even though I was a walk-in, they helped me and my dog right away. They checked him over, got him the medications he needed and let us go home the same day. I only came to this clinic because my typical vet was closed at the time, but I now consider Neel my clinic of choice. I'd gladly recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!
Hi James, thank you for taking the time to leave us a glowing review. If there is anything further we can do for you and your pet, we are here for you.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 10 year old Doberman Rottweiler mix to them at the end of his life around 11pm. Every single person who helped us through this process brought peace and helped ease what was one of the hardest nights of my life. Motley was so well taken care of, and the staff deserves recognition for what they do.
We can’t begin to tell you how happy we were to get your feedback, Whitney. We will be sharing your review with our entire team and look forward to seeing you again.
Experiencia fantástica: They were open on a Sunday and I couldn't have asked for a better team to help my boy when he broke his jaw bone. They took him in right away and made him comfortable and did surgery the very next day. Dr. Lavender is amazing and checked in with me often to let me know how he was doing. We need more clinics like these with caring people who are open 24/7. Very clean and inviting place to bring your pet when you're in a panic, the staff was great!!! And my boy is getting better every day. Thank you Dr. Lavender and your staff and everyone who made a rough experience a little easier. Thank you thank you oh and Rocky thanks you(even with the muzzle and cone of shame)❤️ we are absolutely grateful

Experiencia fantástica: I've always been pleased with the services my little Doxie, Prudence, received here in the past. She was very sick at almost 17 yrs old. I'd scheduled her for euthanasia elsewhere, but she became so I'll the Sat before her Mondag appointment. I couldn't bear seeing her suffer another minute. I called Neel and explained the situation. They saw her right away, and were extremely compassionate. She went so quickly, lying in my arms afree the injections. I'm so glad I chose Neel. I live across town, but had had a bad experience with a Aiuthsjde ER Clininc years before. I knew I could count on Neel Ear Clinic, and they dud not let me down. Thsnks to everyone there. I was able to give my precious girl a peaceful, pain-free end of a most wonderful life. She was an angel on earth. I highly recommend Neel and, should an Emergency aaruse with my other dogs, I will definitely go back.

Experiencia fantástica: Extremely grateful that there was a vet 24/7 available and even more grateful of the amazing staff!! They all were so kind, good to my dog and tried to be as gentle as possible. They all worked together as a fined tuned machine. The doctor explained very well our options for treatment, answered literally all of our questions and had a ton of empathy. Hopefully we never have to see you again, but if we do, I am confident the treatment will be great.
It was our pleasure to have been here for you and your pet, MistyRose. Thank you for your fantastic words about our team and Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you for taking care of my pets I went there when my Great Dane mix was sick but it was during Covid so we weren’t allowed inside they took her in and got her in good shape sadly I lost her but she had a friend and that friend we are getting to get her vaccinations and getting her ready to live with me and my wife in Guam I’m so excited thank you to all of the staff who help out in everything that you do my puppy is happy and healthy very much thank you for all your hard work !! much love
It was our pleasure to have been here for you and your pet, Destiny. Thank you for your fantastic words about our team and Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: The pharmacy at Neel was very helpful in refilling prescriptions, even though I had not called ahead and needed them that day. She even pointed out a way to get them refilled and delivered. 5 stars to Neel. The staff were also amazing when I brought in my Dad's elderly Chi with congestive heart failure. I was kept informed throughout and had a positive outcome
Words cannot express how excited we are to receive your positive feedback. Thank you for taking the time to write us.
Experiencia fantástica: Neel is the best! They took care of my 17-year-old cat and diagnosed him with kidney failure and he spent three days in the ICU and came home like a brand new cat! They were very communicative and kind to us. The only place I will take my animals. Their visiting room for ICU patients is a literal godsend. It was nice to hang out with my baby in a less sterile environment.
We are grateful for the opportunity to assist with your pet’s needs. Thank you for sharing your feedback about our hospital and team.
Experiencia fantástica: Brought my sweet pup in at 10:30pm. She was not breathing. They were very fast to take her and put her on oxygen. She was a 12 year old Pom with congestive heart failure. I was not pressured but it was decided that she should be put down. Everyone was very kind and supportive. They even gave me a little bottle with her hair in it as a keepsake and a sweet card signed by all of them. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was for all they did. Very pleased. Thank you Dr Wessels, Ashley and Maddie.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my sweet kitty Goose here because he pulled out some stitches in the middle of the night that he had put in a few days prior. The staff was FANTASTIC. The front desk girls were so kind and friendly, not to just me, but to everyone who came in while I was there. It’s not easy to be upbeat and friendly at 3am but everyone was so nice. Dr. French and Chevy took care of my kitty quickly and got him all fixed up. I had a great experience here and cannot recommend it enough.
Thank you, Lydia, for recognizing our team's friendliness and compassion! We take great pride in creating a welcoming environment, and your feedback reinforces that we're on the right track. Your kind words inspire us to keep up the excellent work, and we're grateful for the privilege of serving you. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
Experiencia negativa: I took my male cat in for a uti since he was bleeding and couldn't urinate. I waited a few hrs total to get the results. They had to keep him overnight for 4 days on a catheter to get him unblocked since he had crystals blocking his urethra. Costed about $4000 which I had no problem with. Only reason I went there was that I lived 10 mins away, otherwise the i240 animal emergency vet is where I've went before and their staff is excellent. I visited my cat every evening after my 12-14 hr shifts and would bring him a new blanket (which I got none back.)whatever, but no problem. This is the part I didn't like; When I was supposed to take my cat home, they said he was urinating on his own so he could go home. I asked if he would reblock and they said there was a chance in the future since he now has a history but he's fine now. They gave him some take home meds to help break up the last lil bit of crystals that were still in his system. I took him home and he went to the bathroom but had a thin stream of urine. I thought that he was supposed to be normal like neels said but I thought that maybe the meds hadn't kicked in so I finished them and he still was barely urinating and seemed to get blocked again and it was a wk later. I called neels to ask what they could do or if there was more med they could prescribe but I was told that he was released and that would be a whole other exam amd charge and they couldn't just give me more meds for him. At that I was pissed and hung up on them to call my regular vet who saw him right away and prescribed him 2 meds and got him cleared up. Neels didn't have to be so greedy and at least tell me that he'd be blocked by the time he finished their meds so I could have made an appointment sooner with my vet so he didn't have to go through that again. Not taking any animal there again. There's plenty of other emergency vets around that'll charge the same amount but they don't withhold info and at least won't charge again for the same issue if it's in a wks time that it came up again. This was back in 2022 btw and he's doing great. Still on his prescription diet. Just don't go here cuz they don't disclose everything even if u ask

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you Neel Vet for taking care of our difficult German Shepard Rocco last night. I know he is scary to strangers but he is our baby. The doctor and Tech did a great job! I have always been a huge supporter of Neel! I work in rescue and have been here many times over the years. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Theresa for your excellent feedback. It is clients like you who make us smile and we cannot wait to share your review with our entire veterinary team.
Experiencia negativa: This experience happened in early may of last year- right before a move. Despite how long it’s been I don’t think I can fully have closure until I put out there the situation I went through losing my family cat. My cat had stopped eating and drinking and was struggling to maintain body heat on his own, he was brought in the following morning of the evening I noticed after calling a trusted vet and being directed to take him to Neel. They took my cat back quickly, and after about 30 minutes they brought me back. The vet assistant that took us back explained the situation, and told us the vet would be in shortly. Once the vet arrived I was IMMEDIATELY guilt tripped about the state of my cat, and told the only chance that he had was to hospitalize him (which i was unable to afford at the time due to living paycheck to paycheck and about to move THAT WEEKEND). I asked them if there was any possible way to treat him at a lower cost, and was basically told “No, either we run a bunch of tests costing over about 1000+ (not including treatment) or putting him down is the next best option”. I eventually was able to talk to another vet assistant and tried to see if I could treat him from home, which they did their best to write up a bill for that for me. When going over this bill they told me he’d need to be put on an IV and fed a special food, which I was completely fine with doing to the best of my abilities. We were about to go ahead with this treatment plan and then the vet came back shortly after and basically did and said everything they could to try and get me to hospitalize him. They even went so far as to say “You know you’re going to have to force feed him, right?” And to that I said No, I wasn’t told that and before I could even tell her that I was comfortable doing that she goes “Yeah, well I think YOU WERE told that. There’s no way you weren’t”. At the end of it all I felt so bad and discouraged that I ended up putting him down there, a decision that felt like they rushed me into and I regret so severely even now. Please do not let this vet pressure you like they did me. They don’t know your background or your animal’s background and at least the vet that saw my boy was very quick to judge and guilt trip. I was freshly moved out of my family’s house from across the state, and the cat had only been my full responsibility for the last few months. He was very fluffy and I couldn’t see how his body had declined, and he was acting fine up until the last two days. It happened so extremely fast. And I was treated like an idiot who purposely neglected their animal by someone who is supposed to have you and your pets best interest in mind. Also it’s worth mentioning if you go to indeed and look at EMPLOYEE REVIEWS it mentions there a few times about how poorly they treat employees, as well as how they MAKE FUN OF low income or upset clients in private. What an awesome inside look! I was never once rude, mean, combative, or hard to deal with the entire time there, for the record. Pictures of him, happy and (at least seemingly) healthy just a week or two prior.
Experiencia fantástica: I had to take my sweet old kitty into Neel in the wee hours of the morning due to severe constipation. All the staff was absolutely wonderful. I watched as several criticals came through and they handled every situation with care, ease, and compassion. Once they were able to assess my sweet girl, they gave me all the goods, instructions, and kindly listened to me babble on. Within a short time period we were back because I was a complete worry wart, and swore I saw no changes, so I just wanted to make sure (even though the doctor said it take a few days for improvement). They took a look, and she was getting better, and we headed back home. My Scarlet is now feeling better and on the mend. I highly recommend anyone to Neel for any emergency services and/or regular services for your beloved fur babies. They took great care of Scarlet, and me. With all the Love, a Helicopter Cat Mom.

Experiencia fantástica: Had an amazing experience. Went in because my dog had been vomiting all night. They saw him immediately. did ultrasound & x-rays. My dog ended up needing surgery and again they were terrific. They kept me so updated and even let me come and see my baby while he was recovering for a few days. All of the pricing was fair and upfront. If we have another emergency, this is definitely where we are going❤️
It was our pleasure to have been here for you and your pet, WHITNEY. Thank you for your fantastic words about our team and Neel Veterinary Hospital!
Experiencia fantástica: Today I found our cat very lethargic and his health was declining quickly and we were thinking poison and the worst was imminent. We live in Norman and everywhere wanted $300+ for and emergency and probable euthanasia. I finally called Neel and they were not only affordable but we're able to calm me down and rushed out to take our furbaby soft paws immediately back. At The end they were comforting and even gave us a coffin for home burial. Words can not describe how grateful I am to them. Thank you
Thank you for sharing your experience during such a difficult time, Cady paine. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we are grateful for the trust you placed in our veterinary hospital. If you need further support or have additional feedback, please reach out.
Experiencia fantástica: Neel staff has taken such great care of our pets. They took gentle steps with us when it was clear that our Rose was not gonna make it home with us back in Nov 2024. I was very scared to bring our 17 year old schnauzer in yesterday cause I know we're on borrowed time with him. Paired with my last experience there I was a stressed mess coming in. Yes, there was a wait to be seen, but not near what I expected. They work as fast as they can, but are taking the time needed on each pet. I know I don't want them rushing care on my pet, nor on others. I know you all are working hard to give our old man the best chance at a little more time with us. You all have earned our trust time and time again which let me get rest overnight that's sorely needed to face whatever comes next with Dexter. Thank you Neel Doctors and staff for such great care over the years! Extra thanks for walking us as owners thru some of the hardest moments with so much compassion and care.

Experiencia fantástica: At 2 am my little boy was attacked by something. It wasn't until I let all my dogs in that I knew as there wasn't a single bark or anything. I rushed him to Neel and they were quick getting him assessed. Unfortunately because it was facial and dental that needed to be done he had to wait until Monday morning to see the surgeon that could fix it all. They were so caring and understanding, and took such good care of Deku. I'm so thankful for everything they did for him. From boarding him and taking care of his pain needs, to the surgery and reconstruction. They were prompt, professional, and caring.
Experiencia fantástica: I initially gave this a 2-star rating. The day that I had my pet emergency was also a day that snowed and iced so much that it shut many clinics down. This led to my discovery of Neel. The staff was friendly and got me checked in. The Vetnarian was great! She answered all of my questions, was very helpful, and it was evident that she genuinely cared for the animals. As far as pricing goes, you get what you pay for and in my opinion, was worth it. I was even credited my account both visits because the buffer which is built into the surgery was not used. When I called my regular provider about the same procedures that I inquired Neel about, it was very close in cost to my surprise. I recommend this place and will be a returning customer.
Experiencia positiva: i wouldn’t have taken my cat here if i had any other choice but i had to take her in the middle of the night with an impending winter storm and blue pearl was closed. i arrived at 1:30 am and didn’t leave until 5:30 am, there was only 1 person already there when i arrived. i understand having to wait but i spent 90% of those 4 hours sitting in a room alone with no idea when anyone would come talk to me, and my cat was stable so i wish they would have let her stay with me instead of sitting in a kennel alone and scared for 4 hours before they even started doing any treatment. i feel like she was kept longer than she should have been as well, in the afternoon on the day i took her (yesterday) the doctor called telling me she was doing great, but for some reason nobody mentioned discharge plans and i had to call 3 times throughout the day today to ask about it because nobody called to update me on her. i know they were very busy since they were probably the only place in the entire city open. she was dehydrated with low platelets and they did treat that but it was extremely expensive due to it being an emergency clinic. i paid $1500 for her to stay less than 48 hours and get fluids/antibiotics. thank u jesus for care credit! she also came home with her fur matted and caked around her neck, on her legs, and on her tail. i’m assuming on her neck it’s from liquid medication, she should have been wiped off and cleaned up so this didn’t happen because it’s going to be painful to brush out. i do appreciate the help and the transparency of the pricing, but if it’s not the middle of the night or a winter storm you should definitely see a regular vet! EDITING TO ADD: they gave me a liquid medication to take home with us and i’m supposed to give 1 ml every 12 hours but they didn’t give me a syringe or anything to measure it with…so now this medication is literally useless
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been going to Neel’s for many years and have always been happy with the care I’ve received for my pets. Dr. Fryer is the best and the staff has always been professional and friendly. I highly recommended Neel’s.
Thank you, Dawna, for recognizing our team's friendliness and compassion! We take great pride in creating a welcoming environment, and your feedback reinforces that we're on the right track. Your kind words inspire us to keep up the excellent work, and we're grateful for the privilege of serving you. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
