Experiencia fantástica: I had such a wonderful experience at Oklahoma Humane Society and can’t say enough good things about the staff and the overall process. I brought my dog, Marie, in to get her shots and everything went incredibly smoothly from start to finish. The staff came out to get her, took her back for her vaccinations, and brought her right back to me afterward. It was quick, efficient, and completely stress-free—for both me and Marie. The entire visit was honestly a piece of cake. Check-in and checkout were easy, the process was well-organized, and the staff was kind, patient, and genuinely caring. You can tell they truly love animals and take pride in what they do. Marie was treated with such care, which meant a lot to me as a pet owner. If you’re looking for a place that makes routine vet care simple, affordable, and pleasant, I highly recommend Oklahoma Humane Society. This was one of the easiest and most positive experiences I’ve had, and I’ll definitely be back in the future.

Experiencia negativa: Very rude people who get an attitude with you when you try to use their curbside parking spots. They tell you that they aren't actually supposed to be used except for vaccine pickup, but the signage does not say anything about this. I told them that they should update the signage to reflect this policy and their response was: "GET IN LINE NOW!" They also did not give my cat a cone after getting neutered. Cones are optional in their eyes and are only offered verbally in addition to many other optional things including PAIN MEDICATION when dropping your pet off. I was offered pain meds which I accepted, but was never offered a cone. You must be sick in the head to think pain meds and a cone to prevent infection after surgery are OPTIONAL. The health of your pet should not depend on if someone is willing to fully do their job that day or not. If they skip out on necessities like this in front of you, imagine what they are doing to your pet in that clinic. No wonder this place does not allow any public access inside of this torture center they have created. These are two major system errors I found in my brief visit to this vet. Point them out to the vet and they will get antagonistic because they lack the competence and good will to fix them. Do NOT bring your pet here.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been getting my animals spayed and neutered for years and years. Years ago at the other location they spayed my first animal Panda, my dog I had since birth…. Best dog ever! She’s now flying high in heaven saving me a seat; however I recently brought my kitten here Miss Dream and she was spayed and she has been doing phenomenal. They were so kind, gentle caring. I love the drop off and pick up process. It makes it so much easier than having to fight somebody to get in line. You can just pull up and stop you’re good to go and then you don’t have to leave your animal in the car unattended while you go sign them in like other places.. So hands-down I really like this place I would give it 60 thumbs up if I could great place great people

Experiencia fantástica: I had two cats spayed here. Their process was easy and efficient. I called to check in them mid day and they were very nice. What I really appreciated about this clinic was then replying to my emergency call in Sunday because one of my cats wasn't drinking or urinating. She finally peed and I updated them that she was better. They txt me this morning to make sure they both were feeling ok. I addressed my concerns with them about one my cats still not drinking and again, not peeing. They could see her right away for a recheck but I took them to my regular vet. She had some blood and crystals in her pee. Got her some antibiotics and she's doing much better. (This infection was no fault of the clinic as these two were strays so I didn't know alot of their back history) The fact that the clinic took my call on Sunday and followed up today gave me so much comfort and saved me from an er visit. The second cat I had spayed had zero problems after her spay. I would absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a low cost option for their beloved pet.

I wanted to get him neutered and shots before finding him a home to make sure he was taken care of in case he ever got out again. The humane society took great care of him and their drop off and pick up process is smooth. He now has a loving home with his new cat dad here in OKC. Experiencia fantástica: They allow a number of trap neuter (spay) return feral go be dropped off at 8 for a reduced spay/neuter fee and an ear tip (well-known marking symbol of a fixed feral cat). You can also get a set of vaccines with the surgery. No appt just have to be within the first 10? Ferals dropped off. It's $35 for the surgery and pain meds.

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you Oklahoma Humane staff for the hard and necessary work you do! We've had two pets spayed through Ok Humane. The first was a dog in 2022 at the old Penn location. The second was a kitten at the Will Roger's location. Whoever selected the new location did a great job finding a spot that FAR more safely and comfortably accommodates the queue for drop off and pick up. Instructions were clear, with a photo showing traffic flow included in the reminder email. The line moved pretty quickly, and both drop off and pick up went smoothly. Setting appointments is a breeze online. You get all the information you need about pricing and how curbside drop-off and pick up work. NOTE: you will have to make an appointment well in advance, usually months out. This is not a regular primary vet, and it doesn't work the same. Both animals came through the procedures well. Staff were kind and professional. And the prices? I have a reasonable primary vet we're happy with. But I paid $120 for the spay, two vaccines, a nail trim, and pain meds. That visit would've been around $600 at my vet. The services provided are handled professionally, and the pricing is amazing. Thank you again for the often thankless work of providing these invaluable services to Oklahomans and their beloved pets!

Experiencia negativa: Time for another Update: Looks like they may be doing better with good clinical practices since there are less negative reviews about peoples pets dying. I still only won't take any animals there and pay a higher price, but its better than them dying. Updating because its still happening to others. If you actually care about your animal take them somewhere else. They obviously do not practice bio security, since it is obviously a common occurrence that animals get diseases while in their care. The Humane Society scrapped the plans for a more up to date clinic just so they could have luxury administrative offices. Original review: Be aware. They do not have good clinical practices in animal separation. When picking up a kitten that got neutered I noticed they had the animals closely packed together inside the doors awaiting pickup. As a direct result of this our perfectly healthy kitten came home with fleas, and 5 days later started presenting with symptoms of a URI, which turned out to be particularly virulently. Unfortunately, on day 4 post surgery we pulled him out of quarantine and allowed him to be with our other cats as he was recovering well from surgery. As an indirect result of their bad practices of not keeping the animals separate; two of our other cats had to be euthanized from complications from the virus. One was 15, and never stood a chance, the other was only 4. He fought hard, but ultimately didn’t have enough strength in the end. We are currently using anti-vitals as a prophylactic to hopefully keep our 1yo and 5yo cats healthy, but time will tell. Incubation time is generally 3-5 days. The 1yo started presenting the early symptoms 5 days ago, but he was already on the antivirals, and hasn’t gotten worse. Update To the director of the clinic: Not going to mince words now, since it keeps happening. The deaths of these peoples pets are on your hands, and of those that work there, including the vets. You all as a group have failed the mission statement. You are destroying the well-being of some animals. I uploaded a pic so you can see what your organization has destroyed. Original: Please use better practices in keeping animals separated. Your desire to be more efficient has indirectly caused the death of two of my pets, and who knows how many countless others. I don’t say this to attack you, but to hopefully illicit some type of change. Their deaths, from this virus, were avoidable and rest solely on your clinic. Will be emailing a picture of them to the clinic so that maybe you can think about the effect your choices have in peoples lives, and that hopefully you’ll be reminded that life is more important than speed.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is a god-send! Over the weekend, one of our dogs started acting unusual and we found a large puddle of vaginal discharge in the place where she was laying. After discussing with Chat gpt, it sounded like Pyometra, which the vet confirmed this morning. We reached out to a handful of pet hospitals in the area and every single one of them wanted to charge more than $3,000 and a couple wouldn't even give me an estimate for the surgery until they got her in for an exam. There's absolutely no way that we could afford to drop $3k on an emergency surgery, and thankfully the woman that I spoke with at one of the hospitals said "you didn't hear this from me but you should call the humane society and see if they can help you guys out". I called and the woman that answered the phone was amazing-- I could feel through the phone that she cared about our situation and wanted to help. We got our pup on the surgery schedule for tomorrow morning and the cost was a FRACTION of what these other places were trying to charge. THANK YOU OK Humane Society!!

Experiencia positiva: The staff is very friendly and nice, and shots for my cat were very affordable but our appointment was at 12 and my cat got vaccinated til 1 pm (we had to wait all that time inside the car and my cat inside his carrier, since there's signs that indicate that no customers are allowed at their lobby). The lady that approached to our car apologized for the delay and we appreciate that but my cat got so stressed that got sick. They urgently need a better system because this one is simply awful for the clients.

I was almost in a panic attack when dropping her off, but the sweet tech took exceptionally good care of her and explained everything to me before even taking her. They didn't judge, laugh, or become rude when I called for a "mid-day" update. While it's not a cheap procedure, in general, their prices for the services were very affordable compared to any of the other places we looked into.

Experiencia fantástica: I really love this place! I have taken 2 cats and 1 dog to them and each visit has been great. All 3 have been neutered here, I spaced out the surgeries because taking care of 1 at a time is definitely easier, and they have always had plenty of availability (I also book around a month or 2 ahead of time, though). I have also been back after each surgery to get all other desired vaccines and microchipping. Each time, the staff has been very nice and helpful. 1 of my cats sometimes gets diarrhea after vaccines and after mentioning this, the clinic called to make sure he didn't have any other severe reactions and they have administered Benadryl before his vaccines during both visits. Overall, I have had only good experiences here and I always recommend it to those around me! I saw reviews where "lack of communication" was cited, so I wanted to add the following: The clinic communicates through email, so make sure you are checking it for the required forms you need to sign, as well as instructions on how the process goes. They do curbside drop-off and pickup, and send a photo of a map to show where to form a line (spay/neuter), for appointments you are told to park in the front spots labeled "wellness visit" and call in. They don't always answer on the first call but just keep calling a few more times and they will get you checked in. I saw way too many cars formed in a line on the wrong side of the road, blocking the road for drivers who weren't visiting the clinic! Don't be that person!

Signs point to spay and neuter clinic, but parking spots labeled "Wellness Parking Only". Where am I supposed to go? Don't walk in the door or you'll be tossed out! They might have a system that works for them, but doesn't work for people arriving for appointments.

Our previous ventures to their previous establishment on the south side were always filled with excitement and unpredictability, especially with three lively dogs in tow.

Experiencia negativa: The request to make an appointment was pretty straight forward and I appreciated that they allowed my mom to drop my kitten off and pick her up due to work schedule conflict. What has me throughly upset is that after they discovered what was a reserved neutering needed to be changed to spaying, I did NOT receive a phone call to see if I still wanted to go through with the procedure. Had I been made properly aware of the updated gender of my kitten, I would have cancelled the surgery. I certainly could have saved myself the stress of working overtime to afford the surgery that I wouldn’t have agreed to after knowing my “he” is really a “she.” Maybe I missed something in the fine print that said, “Should you book your appointment request for one gender but it turns out to be the opposite, we’re still going to take your money and proceed with the surgery without notifying you first.” Further, and more so a heads up less of a knock on that staff, a nail trim must mean “nail file down to the nub.” Not a huge deal, like I said more of a heads up that your sweet little one might take a couple weeks before being able to sprint up their tree again. The staff was otherwise friendly from what my mom reported to me. I’m still distraught days after the fact that nobody gave me a phone call ahead of going through with the surgery. I’m not sure I could even trust a vet office after this experience.

Experiencia negativa: I am sad to write this review. I have used them before with no problem. I took my puppy in to get neutered. They also vaccinated him, even though I showed them correct verification that he had been vaccinated. When I called to make sure he was going to be ok from the overage in vaccines, no one answered. I called over half a dozen times. The lady answering my emails was very short with me. When they brought my dog out, they tried to give me the wrong dog twice ( their names weren’t even similar). When I tried to inquire about the rash he got from being shaved they were very dismissive saying “he is just sensitive, it’s not like we actually cut him. “ Lastly, he had multiple complications with the anesthesia. I suppose it could have happened at my regular vet but they seem very unbothered to try and help. I spent $200 getting him aftercare at a different vet. I am glad I was able to. But, it concerns me that they are not more careful. Many people don’t have that kind of extra money and are trying to do the best for their animals. If I didn’t have the money to get him treated it could have got really bad. I have taken many animals there before my own, strays, and family members pets. I will NEVER DO THAT again. Staff members are overworked and too focused on volume. Please, just go somewhere else.

Experiencia negativa: My male cat went in to get neutered and came back still appearing to have testicles. They told me it was swelling because he's an adult male. Yet he's less than a year old. Here we are 5 days out and they look the remotely the same. They sold me Nexgard and I thought I was getting a 3mo. Supply for $30 since it's $45 regularly. Instead I got a single monthly dose that would cost me $20 normally.

Experiencia positiva: I can not stress enough that the Spay and Neuter Clinic provides affordable pet sterilization that is vital for our community. I would have preferred a longer wait to schedule and receive higher quality care, however, than a high volume drop off and pick up since their lobby is closed. We were not instructed to buy or provide a cone, which was necessary after the procedure, and my vaccinated kitten appears to have caught a cold from another cat at their facility. I would highly recommend and encourage a location opening in Edmond, as well, as I drove 2 hours round trip the day I received this care for my pet.

Dropped her off in the morning and returned later that day to make the pick up. The cost was minimal and I thank the Humane Society for the great service and care they offer! The only thing that we wish we would have known before loving all over her was that she had ringworm. When I spoke with my vet to find out what she had he told me it was ringworm and that typically when you adopt a cat from any rescue/pound the cat is most likely going to have ringworm Other than that, they have beautiful animals and would 10/10 recommend

I could not afford the cost of neutering at my regular vet and I did not want an unwanted litter, the entire process was so easy from booking online to their curbside drop-off and pick-up! They are very efficient, effective, affordable, and kind here. Will be bringing my female dogs in to get spayed here. Kylie was our dogs tech, she was fabulous! I was concerned about drop-off because he has a history of not doing too great at the vet. She was patient, calm, and didn't rush him until he was completely comfortable. He walked right inside with her! I cannot reccomend this clinic enough, nothing but positive things to say about out experience! They are worth the wait!

Experiencia fantástica: We took our 4 yr old pitbull baby to the spay & neuter clinic to get her spayed and chipped, and they did a great job and handled her very well. She healed up quickly from surgery and we are very happy with our experience. 10/10 recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I called to ask about a free spay/neutering clinic that I heard about from a news segment.I pushed every numeric option that the Interactive voice response gave me, and left messages on every answering system, because I have a fur baby that needs to be spayed, vaccinated,and microchiped,because of covid and not having the money to do so, I'm disabled and have a one income family. I thought that the news segment said that a free clinic providing all of those services was taking place over a 2 day period. Long story short, I was wrong about that. But I received a phone call from every person that I left messages for. Unfortunately I still don't have any money for those services and no free anything taking place. But they were very quick on calling me back.

I was there transferring ownership of a dog that we adopted and they let me know that we can have any of our dogs and/or cats vaccinated with them for about half the cost of my regular vet. They also do spay and neuter and nails.

Experiencia positiva: My experience today 8-18-22 was not very good I waited almost 45 minutes from my appointment time to be seen as my dogs waited in a hot car. I tried calling several times to do the check in , it was ridiculous took almost 20 minutes to get somebody to answer the phone.. You really need to work on a better system . It needs to be easier for them to know that we are there and to see us at our appointment time.

Experiencia fantástica: I am so thankful for the wonderful folks at The Humane Society. I am a senior citizen and on a fixed income. I have three beautiful little dogs and could not other- wise afford all the care they need and deserve. I also donate small amounts by mail when possible because it's such a good cause. Experiencia fantástica: I came here as a last resort as my 9 yr old baby girl was suffering from Pyometria. She needed emergency surgery but money is funny rn and we couldn't come up with the funds. This place was very compassionate and tried to help in any way they could. Unfortunately due to unforeseen complications they were unable to do the surgery. But they referred us to another surgeon with a fully equipped operating room whom also helped with no talk of money at all. Unfortunately my girl passed during the surgery as she had cancer and removing the tumor caused excess bleeding that couldn't be controlled. Our family is very grateful for their compassion and understanding. They made us feel that they too cared for our girl and wanted the best for her ❤️
