Experiencia fantástica: I went to my regular vet, and they noticed that there was a lump on my dog spleen, which they thought was possibly cancer. They recommended that I either go to. Specialist hospital or over to Waukesha. I’m more familiar with Madison so I chose the Madison specialist.. When I arrived to MVS’s location, I was very pleased with there facility. It was very clean, the staff was spot on and polite. Their staff went out and got my dog out of my truck for me. They put her on a gurney and wheeled her into the back and began immediate care for my her. She was then operated on the next morning. She stayed at their facility over two nights. I was able to pick her up on a Sunday morning and brought her home. The staff was just spot on, great people up there and very knowledgeable. Any questions that I had they answered right away. I was able to call and check on my dog anytime I needed to. I just can’t recommend them enough. Very happy with them. Thank you so much MVS for your services.

Experiencia negativa: Every time I call this ER, I am told that they will not see me and are at full capacity. Super weird since I've called 4 ish times over the last 5 years. But maybe it is a good thing that they refused me every time. This evening I called worried about a sick cat. I mentioned how the last time we were declined, my sick cat and I were forced to drive to Chicago. A 3 hour drive with a cat in an emergency. I was worried about having to do that again in the middle of the night. The receptionist actually laughed at me..... I understand compassion fatigue but holy hell. That's a whole different story. No, she didn't laugh out of nervousness. She thought it was funny. I will give them a shout out for referring me to a vet that could take me, I did genuinely appreciate that. But I told her politely but firmly, her reaction was highly inappropriate. It certainly makes me question how seriously they take their role. Will not be calling this place in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about the team at Madison Veterinary Specialists. They truly stepped in during an incredibly stressful and emotional situation and provided exceptional care for my dog. After a very frustrating experience at another emergency clinic where we waited over an hour and a half while my dog was actively vomiting and regurgitating bile, we made the decision to bring him to Madison Veterinary Specialists. From the moment we walked through the doors, the difference in care and urgency was immediately clear. Within minutes, my dog was triaged and the staff showed genuine concern for his condition. The entire team was incredibly kind, calm, and reassuring, which meant so much during such a scary moment. They took the time to explain what they were doing, what they were concerned about, and what the next steps would be. That level of communication and compassion helped build trust right away. Within about an hour, my dog had been evaluated, started on fluids and medications, and the team was preparing for an ultrasound. The ultrasound quickly confirmed he had a bowel obstruction that required surgery. What amazed me most was the efficiency and coordination of the entire team. They were able to move quickly and take my dog to surgery the same day, and within about four to five hours of arriving he had been evaluated, diagnosed, treated, and was already in recovery. During such an emotional situation, the staff never made us feel unsupported. Every person we interacted with from the front desk to the technicians to the doctors was compassionate, patient, and genuinely invested in helping our dog. They answered our questions, reassured us, and treated our pet like he truly mattered. They even went the extra mile by sending us post-operative pictures of our dog in recovery, which provided so much reassurance while we waited for him to be safe to come home. That thoughtful gesture meant a lot and truly showed how much they care about both their patients and the families who love them. It is incredibly difficult to place your trust in someone during a pet emergency, but the team at Madison Veterinary Specialists made that trust easy. Their professionalism, communication, and compassion made an overwhelming situation feel manageable. We are so grateful for the care they provided and for the outcome they helped achieve for our dog. I would highly recommend Madison Veterinary Specialists to anyone facing a veterinary emergency. Thank you for the incredible work you do for pets and the people who love them.

Experiencia fantástica: I came into this experience very nervous and extremely upset because of my dog's major injuries. One of the managers of the facility called and spent time making sure that I was filled in on every detail possible and the vets and vet techs were marvelous. They sent us photos. Gave us frequent updates. It is extremely expensive and not affordable for many people, so that would be my only caveat. And that is likely true of any vet ER. As hard as the experience was for us, our pup was given all the attention, care and compassion we could want! :)

Experiencia negativa: I have been thinking about leaving a review for weeks, not exactly sure how to express how disappointed I am in the internal medicine department. My dog suffers from severe chronic rhinitis, we did the CT, rhinoscopy, biopsy. We tried low dose medications, I bought him a nebulizer. I truly was willing to do anything for my dog to feel better. I felt forgotten about, and dismissed. I was involved heavily in his care. I called as instructed every couple weeks to update, tell them things are not improving. I felt like I was constantly calling asking for advice and it was always well were not really sure why nothings helping. I would get a response a day or two later. I feel as though I was left with absolutely nothing. The last conversation we had was how frustrating his case was and we’ve exhausted our resources good luck. I feel the bare minimum was provided to my dog. If your dog has a complex case, go elsewhere, I will.

Experiencia fantástica: From the initial referral from northern Wisconsin to discharge we felt cared for and confidence in our dogs care. The phone calls from the veterinarians were very helpful in communication of his situation and care plan. The front staff was courteous and efficient. The nursing staff was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. The discharge process was smooth and informational. Thank you!

Experiencia positiva: Over a month has passed since our January ER visit, which left us dissatisfied with the lack of care provided to our dog, Bella, who has liver disease. We appreciated the thoughtful follow-up call from Marjan, whose compassion stood out! However, there remains a lack of communication and bedside manner. We chose to give the clinic another chance and continue Bella’s care with the internist, Dr. Kristen, who Bella had been seeing for several months. We scheduled a visit due to ongoing concerning behavior—the same behavior that prompted our January ER visit, where we had left & were told we had all the tools at home to deal with the situation (meaning we had pain meds on hand from previous months). It seems extremely odd behavior from a dog with liver issues shouldn't warrant a visit. The night before the appointment, Bella vomited twice and could not keep food down. We reported this to the clinic. She then fasted for her scheduled ultrasound, which meant there was a longer stretch with no food in her body. Testing revealed her liver disease had progressed moving into liver failure stage, with abdominal fluid present. In retrospect, discovering this prognosis at a later date was a missed opportunity. The clinic had access to both her January ER and internist records, yet no proactive follow-up or internal coordinated care was initiated. Our return visit was driven solely by our persistent concern, not by outreach from the vet team. For a clinic that presents itself as a leader in pet care, this lack of coordinated communication places patients at risk and forces pet owners to research & navigate the progression of an unfamiliar disease on their own. After the two-hour drive home from the ultrasound, we discovered Bella was severely lethargic and unresponsive, so much so that we momentarily wondered whether she was alive. The following day, we learned, only after prompting—that she had not shown interest in water presented during her visit. Yet at discharge, we received no verbal or written instructions about monitoring for dehydration, severe lethargy, or potential effects of sedation. Dr. Kristen & team never informed that Bella had been given butorphanol. We discovered this only by reviewing the invoice and researching the medication ourselves after witnessing her alarming condition. While we could have called, proactive communication would have prevented significant distress. We are new to this disease and rely on the clinic for guidance. It has been roughly 48 hrs and she is just now slowly coming out of her sedated state. Was there any correlation with prolonged period without food, liver disease and dosage level that would cause such a heighten effect and how was this considered? This represents the second serious communication failure in a little more then a month. Over 15 years, we have had positive experiences with the practice. However, after spending roughly $30,000+ spent over the years, including $1,926 for this visit, it is reasonable to expect clear verbal & written discharge instructions (which we have yet to receive), especially when sedatives are administered to a medically fragile patient. No one informed us at discharge that she had been sedated. No one advised us what to monitor for or when urgent care would be necessary. The following morning, with Bella still hugely unresponsive and not drinking water, we no longer felt confident making the long trip back to Madison. Instead, we spent the day at a local emergency clinic, incurring an additional $500 for IV fluids to stabilize her. Dr. Kristen identified Bella health issues and that we are extremely thankful for her expertise. It was the lack of communication, compassion & bed side manner that for us has been a failure and missed opportunity to meet the highest standard patient care and customer experience. At this time, we cannot recommend the Madison Emergency clinic. This experience has been emotionally exhausting, and we expected far more from a team that promotes expertise in specialty and emergency care.

There was lots of empathy for my pooch which was nice as the visit was so stressful! Technical competence of all the staff was top notch.MVS was up front about all the costs. That was very helpful.

Experiencia negativa: I took my dog here on Friday Feb 6th at 6pm, they took him right away and before even looking at him, had me sign a paper stating a minimum of 1k to 2k for the visit. I asked if they could take a check, to which they said not if it’s more than $500. I proceeded to wait TWO HOURS before finally asking for an update. Apparently the vet was just now looking at my dog after all this time. We were then taken to a separate room where no one came in to tell us anything. After 20 minutes with no word we decided to head back out to the main waiting room. We watched as everyone that had gotten there after us left and after FOUR HOURS incredibly unsatisfied. The next day I took my dog to a different emergency vet who gave us entirely different results and advice. I don’t recommend taking your pet here after this experience.

Ms. Hakim - Prior to your arrival and throughout your visit, our team reiterated the current wait time for stable patients due to 3 unstable patients arriving at our hospital within an hour of your arrival time as 2-4 hours to see a doctor. Similar to a human ER, we prioritize the patients that are most likely to die from their conditions first. While you continuously expressed frustration to our team throughout your visit, we did offer outpatient care or that you could reach out to the other ER vets in the area to see if they had lesser patient loads. Ultimately, we are so glad you were able to get the care that your pup needed to your satisfaction - because that is what matters to us most. We hope he is feeling better and wish you the best.

Experiencia fantástica: The entire experience was wonderful. When I called to get on the waitlist, Tony the CSR, took the initiative to see if my dog,(who is having urinary/kidney issues), could be seen by Dr. Finstad instead of Internal Medicine (which was scheduled out 3 weeks). The day of my appointment everyone was very friendly and professional and I felt like they went above and beyond to accommodate my dog and I. Both Kennedy and Dr. Finstad explained things very well and helped me figure out the best course of action for my dog. I'm very appreciative of everything you guys do and will definitely be recommending you to others.

Dr Binversie provided us piece of mind and a plan while waiting for the biopsy results, which she coordinated to obtain on the same day of our consult appointment. Experiencia negativa: Never again. They charge an exorbitant fee for doing nothing. All they did was repeat back the history that I gave them when I arrived, acting like it was new information. Then they started talking about putting him down after no tests had been done.

Experiencia negativa: *updating -Unfortunately my dog was put down on 12/29/25 due to ongoing issues after surgery. I do not recommend at all and will never ever go back. Many years ago one of my dogs had an eye removed there and was spayed at the same time. It was a good experience. But this time, not so much. On 10/31 my dog had BOAS surgery and anal gland removal surgery. It would be an overnight stay for observation. I was called later that evening, surgery went well, she was on oxygen and did have to be reintubated again they said but had been removed again by the time they called. I was called again the next morning and said she was still on supplemental oxygen but she was doing better and they would work on weaning her off oxygen and that she hopefully could come home later in the evening and that someone would call me at shift change (around 3-4pm). That time came and no one called. Finally later around 6 or so I called for an update and they said the Dr was performing a surgery and would call me back in an hour or so. 2 hours later no call so my husband calls and gets some info. Maybe around 9:30 pm the Dr called and said she was still on oxygen. I said I was told that she was probably coming home this evening and I’d be called around 3-4 and at this point I was still planning to come get her regardless how late it was. She said no, she’s still on oxygen and I’ll call you back with an updated estimate. I asked if they had even tried weaning her off oxygen like they told me that morning and she said yes, but I don’t believe that because she had originally told me she was doing a surgery from like 4pm to maybe 8 or 8:30. So I don’t think anything was done with my dog and they just expected it was fine - I’ll shell out more money for her to stay another night. Also this surgeon or whoever she was just wasn’t very pleasant. Like I was a burden. Ultimately she came home the next day. But then what happens next really frustrates me. 2.5 weeks post op I email saying she’s suddenly having breathing issues and inside her nasal passages it looks swollen. I wanted to come back for a follow up. I get a quick response saying so need to go see my primary vet, or go to their emergency department. So I got her in with my primary the next day and they were surprised they were dismissive like that. Then over this last weekend my dog became very constipated and bleeds. I again email the surgery team asking if I could bring her in for a follow up check up or if they have any recommendations. Again it was the same dismissive response that I need to see my primary vet or go to their emergency department. This really made me angry so I replied with my feelings I explained how frustrating it was that they have been dismissive and even my primary vet is discouraged by that. I mentioned I paid nearly $6k for surgery and now they wash their hands of my dog and want me to just go to their emergency department and spend thousands more. THEY did the surgery, they should see us for a follow up. I fairly quickly get a response I feel was excuses. That they misunderstood my emails (I don’t buy that, I’m not stupid) and that they absolutely will see her for a recheck. They can’t get her in until end of next week. That is far too long for my dog to wait when it’s been a week today she’s been struggling to breathe again and about 5 days of no bowel movement and bleeding from her rectum. I ended up going to a different emergent clinic tonight who was amazing. Yes my dog needs another surgical procedure on her back end and they will check out her nose again too. The stitches are not dissolving like this place said they would and that could be causing all the swelling and breathing issues. I will never go back to MVS and will never refer anyone to them. They are clearly money hungry. And because they are so dismissive and didn’t want to see my dog for a follow up on a surgery they did, I’m now having another surgery done elsewhere spending another $1200

Experiencia fantástica: Dax was admitted Monday night and stayed through Thursday (Christmas) afternoon. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly, professional and informative. I was updated on my dogs condition and medical treatment/recommendations at least twice a day with encouragement to reach out at any time for additional updates or questions. Every member of the staff was amazing with my boy and, despite the medical issues bringing him in, he was clearly comfortable with all of the staff and very well cared for during his stay. While it was clear they had several other patients we were never treated like a number and I am so grateful for the genuine care and dedication of all of the staff at Madison Veterinary Specialists.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat, Ernie, became very ill in October and I had to rush him to MVS. He ended up being hospitalized for 5 days with neurological and other symptoms. They provided him with supportive care, including a feeding tube, while diagnostics were being done. I was a wreck and MVS staff were very understanding as I had a mini breakdown every time I went to visit him. I appreciate that I was able to go and see him everyday and call anytime to get a quick update (including the middle of the night, which I did.) The vet nurses in particular were so kind and it seemed like they really cared about Ernie. Sara, the ER coordinator, was especially wonderful. We weren’t able to get an answer on what caused my cat’s illness but he is back to himself without any noticeable symptoms remaining. It wasn’t cheap, but I don’t think he’d still be with me without MVS.

Experiencia fantástica: MVS literally saved my two year old Labrador's life. She was near death with fungal pneumonia when I brought her there on an October Sunday afternoon. The ER Vet, Dr Maxwell McCaughey, quickly identified the problem and began treatment with drugs and oxygen. An Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr Kristen McDaniel, took it from there and treated the dog until she was released from the hospital that Friday. Dr McDaniel kept me updated with twice daily phone calls. "Libby" was treated with expertise and compassion and she is now back home continuing her recovery and enjoying life!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been to nearly every advanced vet specialty hospital in a five hour radius- Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Illinois. I can safely say this is the BEST vet specialty hospital of them all, and my go-to hospital (because they are so awesome though, sadly they are at capacity a lot of the time- PLEASE EXPAND!) Everyone there is always very friendly and helpful. I trust the veterinarians here. They are thorough in explaining what they are going to do, why, what possible issues/conditions are going on, how they reach their conclusions, etc. They take time to answer all of my questions and concerns. They are quick, effective, efficient. Plus, they work directly with Trupanion which has been awesome and made claims easy and quick! I have brought my boy here both for Internal Medicine and Emergency Care, both departments have been phenomenal. Best vet specialty hospital by far. I definitely recommend them.

Experiencia positiva: Without a doubt, this vet has the capability and facilities to handle anything. Doctors were knowledgeable and staff capable. They also took fantastic care of my pet. However when presented with the task of letting an owner know that their best friend of 17+ years is terminal it should be done in an appropriate manner. "I'm sorry sir your pet has terminal cancer, there is not much we can do, and my prognosis is that he might only live a few weeks. I'm so sorry." Instead, I got a medical dissertation that left me basically numb. When asked if i had any questions, I just wanted to go. I understood the underlying message - my pet was not going to make it. I'm a pretty smart guy but, under the circumstances, could barely follow along with what doctor was explaining. In retrospect, I wish I had asked if my pet were in pain, how long the cancer had been in place, and a few other basic questions for end of life care and my own peace of mind. I was swimming in so much medical terminology and grief that it just wasn't possible. I recommend this place, just wish the bed side manner could be improved.

Experiencia fantástica: Sir Mocha has become a recent patient of Dr. Delamaide in neurology. She, and her team, has been fantastic to work with. Their love for our furfamily is always evident.. The professionalism of every person, from reception, to ER, to discharge staff, is amazing and comforting to experience. The care is excellent, clearly explained, and reasonably priced. I have been impressed with the cleanliness of the entire building. (Someone is always cleaning!) My vet had the ER notes of Mocha's weekend stay by 9am on Monday. The call backs and the texts not only reassure me, but also give me comfort Sir Mocha is in the best of hands. Emergency care is rarely researched ahead of time. You can be confident knowing you don't need to research here. Your "furmily" will receive amazing care. Sir Mocha and his parents say thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: Although I was there for 5.5 hours every minute was worth it to me. You have to go with the understanding that there are other people there with their babies and they are just as important to them as yours is to you. Some have bigger emergencies than you and you have to be understanding of that when going in as an emergency patient. It was a long day for me and Milo, but we left in a better place than when we came and have all the information, we needed to make good choices. Everyone there was fantastic and caring. Experiencia fantástica: From the personnel at front desk when I walked in the door to the personnel at the front desk who wished me a nice rest of my day when I left, all were caring and pleasant. The vet tech and the doctor were not only skilled, but kind and understanding of my upset at my pet's illness and treated me and my dog with gentleness. I was misdirected by my GPS to the clinic which made me about 10 minutes late; despite that, I was shown grace; "You're here now and we're glad you made it." I recommend this clinic not only for the highly competent veterinarians and technicians, but also for the collegial attitude and compassion shared by all personnel. It must be a great place to work! I have been lucky to not have to wait too long, even when I was there at 4:00 pm on a Friday and one time over the Labor Day weekend. Experiencia negativa: My experience with the oncology team at Madison Veterinary Specialists was deeply frustrating. The department is clearly overworked and understaffed, which led to an extreme delay in my dog receiving chemotherapy. Maybe that delay didn't change how long she lived or how comfortable her last two months were but it absolutely might have. What it definitely did was make an already painful situation much harder for me as a pet owner trying to make her last months as comfortable and meaningful as possible. Communication from the oncology staff was consistently poor. Many emails came from techs, were riddled with grammatical errors, and often didn't address the questions asked - making them nearly impossible to interpret And adding to the delay in the start of my dog's chemotherapy. Moreover, the actual oncologist is only in Tuesday through Thursday, or that's how it seemed when we were trying to communicate with them. However, that was never communicated to us and so this further resulted in delays in starting our dogs chemotherapy. After 2 weeks of poor tech emails and being told that no answers could be provided until the oncologist was back, we decided to look elsewhere. After repeated delays and confusion, we ultimately decided to take our dog to another oncology specialist, and I would recommend others do the same. Be aware you will be charged a full oncology visit price for roughly 10 minutes of face-to-face time. During our visit we were checked in by a tech and asked them to check for specific spots on our dog and the tech told us that they would have the oncologist do that. When the oncologist came in they had no idea what we were talking about when we asked if they checked on our dogs specific spot indicating terrible communication between the texts and oncologists as well. Not just terrible communication to pet owners. To their credit, the emergency care team is what you would expect- they stabilize your dog or cat. Be aware that they only staff specialist during the week however, so if your dog needs the special type of ultrasound, they will only be able to hold your pet over the weekend and offer monitoring, which for us cost nearly $1,200. From that perspective, it's exactly what you'd expect from a reputable emergency vet.

Experiencia negativa: Do not take your pets here!!!!! Our cat was brought in for an emergency with his eye. Basically was tried to be persuaded to put him down because of it possibly being cancer. I told the technician we'll take him home with meds. He healed but we had to take him back cause another technician found an ear polyp but wouldn't remove it because assumed we wouldn't be awake to deal with the bleeding. So now our cat has to continue to suffer with a polyp that could've been removed but was refused.

Experiencia positiva: In September my 4 year old GSP Gabby was referred to MVS by my vet for a probable insulinoma, a rare type of pancreatic cancer which causes the pancreas to over-produce insulin and leads to dangerously low blood sugar levels. The referral was necessitated by the fact that insulinomas can't usually be located by ultrasound, which is all most "regular" vets can afford. MVS quickly confirmed his diagnosis, i.e., they found the insulinoma, using a CT scanner, so my withholding of the fifth star has nothing to do with their expertise or service, rather its based on their in-house approach to treatment as set forth below. When I was presented with treatment avenues, both the surgical and pharmaceutical options seemed to suck equally, as they both offered Gabby a little more time that wouldn't necessarily be quality time, and both involved more tests/procedures before and after and of course more trips to Madison (I'm over 5 hours away) as I was told only some of the routine testing could be done locally. I was really struggling with what was in Gabby's best interests and looked back to my own vet for advice. Turned out he hadn't been kept in the loop as promised, had received the discharge summary (which wasn't very informative as reports from radiology and oncology were still pending) and nothing else. Once I furnished him with those items, and he obtained the actual imaging directly from MVS, he not only steered me towards surgery but said he could do it. Friends questioned my decision to have a "regular" vet perform a surgery that MVS described as "challenging", but I didn't have a moment's hesitation - this is someone who had gone above and beyond for my dogs on many prior occasions, GSPs being the trouble magnets that they are, and if he said he could do it that was all I needed to know. Gabby is now 2 weeks out from surgery that removed part of her pancreas and a lymph node. She has successfully weaned off all interim meds and every post-surgery blood sugar test has been normal. And, although cost wasn't dispositive for me the local surgery was half that estimated by MVS, plus I obviously didn't have to make any more trips to Madison. I don't know what the future holds for Gabby, of course, but for the moment I'm celebrating and, because there doesn't seem to be any meaningful collaboration between MVS and the vets who support them with referrals, the takeaway for pet parents is this: By all means go to MVS but once you have their diagnostics don't just nod along - do your homework, explore all your options and above all make sure your own vet is not only kept in the loop but is part of the decision-making process.

Experiencia negativa: Extremely Disappointed with the Care My Cat Received brought my cat to this hospital because she was having trouble breathing, hoping to get real answers and help. They did several exams and told me there was "something" in her lungs, but never gave me a clear diagnosis or explanation of what that meant. When I asked if they could prescribe her any medication based on the findings, the doctor told me, "No, she's not clinical, so we can't give her anything." That response made no sense to me, since my cat was clearly not doing well. Instead of helping her or trying to prevent things from getting worse, they told me that if I wanted more answers, I'd have to pay for even more tests - even though they already had results showing something abnormal. A week later, my cat's condition got worse. When I called the hospital, they told me to bring her back in - which means more visits, more money, and still no treatment that could have helped her earlier. I feel very disappointed, and let down by the lack of care and responsibility shown here. They had a chance to help my cat when I first brought her in, but instead, | left with no answers, no medication, and now a sicker cat. Well, here we are, not even a month later, my cat passed away. Very disappointed, but still no one can bring her back to me.

Every single staff member from the front desk to the nurses & doctors were so very kind & patient with us. No matter the time I called they never made me feel as though I was bothering them or asking for something that was outside the realm of my right to ask. The updates were consistent and very informational. They never rushed us thru the call. Always took their time with us giving us time to absorb the information and formulate questions. On the occasion we had to call back to clarify - we were always met with grace and kindness. Never met with frustration or short answers. PJ was very sick and we knew from the moment they took him under their care he was loved and cared for as if he was their own family member.

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog Coco had to have a big surgery that my husband and I were very nervous about, especially having to stay overnight an hour away from home. Dr Tuttle was so kind and understanding during the whole process. We had to reschedule her surgery a few different times due to unforeseen circumstances and each time the staff was so understanding and accommodating. Every person I talked to on the phone was so pleasant. Huge shout out to the surgery inpatient assistant Maddie who sent pictures and the sweetest video of our Coco while she was recovering overnight. It eased my anxiety so much knowing that someone so kind was caring for my girl. I hope we do not need to come back, but if we do, I know we will have a great experience!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been to Madison twice now, and I absolutely loved the first doctor I saw, Dr Custead. I also came back with another cat of mine, and saw Dr McDaniel. Today Kristen also helped me over the phone, and she was so helpful and patient. I love all the vet techs here too; they’ve been so willing to take the time to explain all the options, and they’ve been very considerate about the cost. Especially my second visit, I appreciated any effort that was made to be patient and kind; I didn’t want to talk about it in person, but I was bringing in a cat that belonged to my sibling who passed away. You never know when someone really needs you to be kind, so thank you for being patient with me on a day when I really needed that.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience. Multiple mistakes were made and bad medical advice was given. Multiple disconnects between the various departments. My dog was sent home in total distress and passed away. Stay away!!!! Dr. Finstad said reimbursement of some expenses would be considered and they would get back to me.- no one called. I emailed a care coordinator and she said she would forward my concerns. I reached out to her again and she longer employed there. I have reached out again and they really are not very caring.

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you so much for caring for our dog Beau. All the staff were so nice from the moment we walked in the door. Dr. McDaniel and Molly were very thorough. Both took the time to listen to us and make sure all of our questions were answered. We also had all the information for the services that were going to be provided upfront, from the explanation of each procedure, how the day would go for our dog as well as costs. We traveled over 2 hours to see a specialist and would do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend them!

Experiencia fantástica: I have visited Madison Vet Service 3x for cat care in the past year and have only praise to give. Their customer service is amazing and the vet care is beyond reproach. Given it is emergency care, I feel that their prices are reasonable. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Experiencia fantástica: The entire team was wonderful to deal with. Thank you so much for caring for our beloved dog, Frankie. A special thanks to Dr. Cava who provided excellent care to Frankie for two days and Dr. Kassner who did the exam and intake discussion with me and really impressed me with her knowledge and kindness at 2am. Experiencia fantástica: Everybody was so kind, sweet, and helpful. Bella was well taken care of. The surgeon explained the surgercial procedure really well, and shared his post op expectations in terms of recovery, but also what's expected of us to ensure a speedy recovery. Of course, nobody wants to take their fur baby to a hospital, but when you must, this is the place to go to. The 2h drive was well worth it.

Experiencia fantástica: We cannot begin to say how impressed Mert and I were with the quality care for our dog, Winston. His illness of severe pancreatitis brought unbelievable levels of stress and concern to all 3 of us. Yet, when we walked in the door, everyone we met there, from the receptionist to the veterinarians we talked with were compassionate, kind, gentle with Winston, were patient with all of our questions, and we could go on and on with praise about how we were dealt with. We will absolutely recommend MVS to everyone we know. We are so grateful that you are in Madison and have THE BEST personnel we have ever had over our 30 years of experience with with other veterinarian clinics with our dogs. Truly! All of you are amazing people. Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts!

Experiencia fantástica: Having had animals my entire life but relatively new to having dogs, MVS has been such a breath of fresh air in helping me with my fur babies. Everyone is so kind, caring and professional. When I walk in the door I don’t feel like just a number as I have at other emergency vets. MVS has provided surgery services for us as well and I will never go anywhere else if future services are needed. We drive an hour to their location and it’s 100% worth it. HIGHLY recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you so much for taking care of my fur baby! The team was able to get me in quickly and were communicative, kind, and compassionate. Odin had an unexpected urinary blockage, and they detailed our options and gave an itemized price estimate. They let me call for updates and visit him during his stay. Odin stayed in a clean, comfortable, and quiet area for his stay. My pet’s care actually came in below their original quote, because he recovered quickly. Thank you for taking care of Odin!

Experiencia fantástica: we had to bring our dog vada in during an emergency, and i can’t say enough good things about this clinic. from the moment we walked in, every single staff member treated her with compassion, patience, and urgency. they explained everything clearly, kept us updated, and truly listened to our concerns instead of brushing them off. vada was scared, but they handled her so gently, making sure she was comfortable and closely monitored. the neurologist took the time to explain our options in a way we could understand, and even though the situation was stressful, we felt reassured knowing she was in the best possible hands. what stood out most was how thorough they were running the necessary tests quickly, starting medications right away, and making us feel like vada was a priority every step of the way. even though we’re still waiting on certain test results, vada is home now, comfortable, and being treated in the meantime. we left feeling incredibly grateful for their knowledge, care, and the peace of mind they gave us.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could say my experience at Madison Veterinary Services on Royal Road was a positive one, but it was heartbreaking. My dog was in visible pain, and we waited for over two hours with no updates, no check-ins, and no reassurance. While we sat there, helpless, I could hear and see interns gathering in the operating room for another case — meanwhile, my dog’s suffering seemed invisible to the staff. I understand that emergencies happen and that veterinary work can be unpredictable, but compassion should never be put on hold. All it would have taken was someone stopping by to check on us, to explain what was going on, or to offer even a small comfort. Instead, I felt ignored, and my dog endured unnecessary pain while we waited without answers. I’m sharing this because I know every pet owner deserves to feel that their animal is a priority when they’re in distress. Sadly, that’s not how we felt here.
