We are a full service, low-cost, walk-in veterinary clinic for dogs and cats. The hours posted here refer to the times our doors are open. Our doctor availability and walk-in times are on our website. We reserve the right to cut off walk-ins any day at any time due to wait times. We do not make appointments for anything other than surgeries, dental cleanings, and euthanasias. See our website for updated policies and information before coming in to see us. We are not an emergency clinic and urge you to find an ER for any emergency needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I love thus vet. Me and my family take all our animals here for just about everything. They offer a lot of services and are very cheap compared to any other places anywhere in the city.

Experiencia negativa: All I can say is if you love your pet do not take your pet to this messy clinic . My pet had cancer the doctor their gave her two different medications which are never supposed to be taken together because they will cause issues. The medicine ate the lining out of her stomach. So she couldn't keep food down so she stopped eating and she wouldn't take her medicine for her cancer because of the lining being eaten out of her stomach. To describe the feeling she was having from taking that medicine together it was basic felt like she was having acid refluxIt all day everyday for a whole month. If it would have been a human they would definitely be paying a lot of money out of their pocket for medical malpractice, but because pets are known as our property it's very difficult to sue. The doctor did admit that he prescribed the medicine to her twice and he said that he did not notice it in her chart wow. He didn't notice it the first time and then he didn't notice it the second time. We went to court in court the doctor was showing signs that he could not hear good and that he could not see good with glasses on in a hearing aid in his ear, you ask yourself is that a person you want working on your pet. It may have been cheap but understand people sometimes in life we get what we pay for. They made her cancer progress faster. I couldn't help her of course because dogs don't talk she was so sad and hurting, wine and cried she could not get comfortable for nothing in the world for days and weeks. I had no idea what was going on I really thought the issues was coming from the cancer. so I took her back to their clinic to find out what was wrong I feel like I knew something was going on with the medication because her situation did not worsen until she started taking that medicine. when I got there for the visit the young lady that came in the room to check my dog in . I gave her the two medicine bottles she said who told you to give your dog these two medicines together and I responded by telling her you guys did. Her face just dropped to the floor and when that happened I knew something serious was happening to my dog from them giving her the two medicines. So they gave her some more medicine and it seemed like she was in even more pain so I called her regular doctor and I told them about the two medications that she was given and the new one they were like no stop all the meds there office had just closed and they still waited until I got there so they could give her something for the pain .. And they are the ones that told me what actually was happening to her body from those two medications being given together. Because of this I had to go ahead and have her put down without that medicine he gave her she probably could have lived another 6 months. I had to find out the hard way the way the clinic looks and smells that's the type of service you get the doctor is so old he has no business writing prescriptions for anybody's pet. I'm in the process of trying to get there license taken away from that clinic. Cheap shots for your pet that's the only thing you should take your pet there for that's it do not let them prescribe you medication for your pet. They only knew about her cancer and her other issues because they got the records from her regular doctor office 30th Street animal clinic they are the best and trust me it smells like nothing but air freshener in that office and it looks good in the good service goes right along with it. if you can't afford to get good service for your pet then just don't have a pet because it broke my heart that I had to let her go due to their medical malpractice. Once again in life sometimes we get what we pay for.
Experiencia negativa: The vet techs and office people were really good but the woman dr ruined my whole experience. I've came here multiple times for multiple different situations with my animals and have been bringing my elderly dog here for his stress induced seizures. The doctor that came in our room today as rude, judge-mental and totally unprofessional. Comments that were totally unnecessary uncalled for and totally irrelevant. I brought my dad's dog here for yearly shots with a couple of concerns aswell. The doctor also had no idea what medication THEY prescribed my dog and proceeded to get an attitude with me when I couldn't remember the names of them. Last time I checked I wasn't the vet. This is the most unprofessional experience I have ever had here and I'm not sure we'll come back again.

Thank you for this review. We are sorry to hear you did not like your experience with one of our vets. Due to seeing so many patients, our doctors do not know all medications that are prescribed for every pet. Since the seizure medication was prescribed once in 2023, it did not get printed with the recent records so she was unaware of what he was on. Experiencia fantástica: I've been to this vet clinic multiple times and have never had a bad experience. They are very organized and professional. Would highly recommend showing up an hour early for first come first serve care. The line can get very long.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my pet Molly to Michigan St Vet Clinic, and from the moment we walked in, we were treated with kindness and compassion. The front desk staff was so sweet and helpful, and we were taken back quickly. After being told by another vet—after a $1,033 visit—that nothing could be done for my 12-year-old dog’s grade 4 heart murmur, I was devastated. Dr. Sam was an absolute angel. She was gentle with Molly, truly listened, explained everything clearly, and gave me hope. Molly was diagnosed with mitral valve disease and was prescribed the heart medication she needed without overcharging. I’m incredibly grateful to the entire staff at Michigan St Vet Clinic for taking such great care of my baby. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: I have visited here a few times for different reasons and pets. I've had a great experience every time. The prices are reasonable and I feel like they really care about the animals which is most important to me. I think the check in process is as close to seamless as it can be for a walk in only veterinary clinic and they keep their website current so you always know when they're open. I Highly recommend them.

Experiencia negativa: What in the world does someone have to do to get an answer on the phone. Its sad that I've called no less than 12 times back to back and unable to get an answer. You all refuse to listen to the pet parent and now my dog is ill and has to suffer for more days because you all will not answer the phone or listen when we ask for testing. I really wanna like this clinic. The pricing is good and yall are nice people. But you guys are making it hard. Friendly staff doesn't make up for the suffering of my babies. I am willing to bet that there isnt going to be any help offered or any discounts offered for my other dog that is now ill because you guys refused to listen to the pet parent expressing concern and asking for testing. SMDH
We're sorry you can't reach us, if you leave a voice mail we will reach out to you within 24-48 hours. You are also more than welcomed to send us a text message to our regular number. If there is a serious issue that requires immediate attention, we always recommend taking the pet to an emergency as our wait times can vary.
Experiencia fantástica: Our baby Rocky has been coming here since he was 4 months, he's now 9 years! I know that if he goes in not feeling well, he's coming home to recooperate n a few days! Only a few times has he went to FACE for his shots but we come right back here, they're cheaper and closer! Funny story ..one day I thought he had his hemorrhoids hanging out, i stayed up with him all night... couldn't wait to get to the vet!! Guess what, it was dried poop!! Me & the Dr cracked up laughing! He was cleaned off and sent home with no fee! He'll be going for a Mass soon and I trust that he will be okay!

Experiencia negativa: This place doesn’t even deserve a star, front desk people very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. I paid for 2 cats to get their ears cleaned and it was not done. I wouldn’t recommend anyone taking animals here, They don’t care about the animals, all they care about is money! They both got antibiotics (supposedly) mama is still sneezing and dude rash is back, I don’t think they did anything to my cats

As we discussed already in our emails, the ear cleaning was performed to the best of our ability due to your cats behavior during the cleaning. We also discussed that the antibiotic injection was done but your pets may need additional medications or another round pending on how they responded to this injection.
We do care about all of our patients and since we are low cost, we do not only care about the money.

Experiencia fantástica: On 12/23/25 I was recommended to go to this clinic because my dog Mr. Peanut Rocket was extremely sick! I waited in tht parking lot from 630am until the doors opened at 9am. I was worried and upset running off no sleep because My dog kept vomiting and not eating for like 2-3 days so when we finally got in, the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. We were taken back in under 30 mins. They did an X-ray and labs. I was concerned about the bill because I was already low in funds because it was the holidays so they came back with the price and diagnosis and worked with me on my bill because I couldn’t afford it. After we worked that out, I was given medicine to take home and he was also given an IV because he was dehydrated. He was fine after 48 hrs just like they said!!!! I just want to say thank you guys so much for saving him. I don’t know what I would have done without you guys. My schnauzer is my 3rd child. You are truly God sent. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Experiencia negativa: I’ll start with the front staff, they are the only saving grace of this place very friendly and kind. BUT The vet needs to retire or take some form of communication class. Did not introduce himself to me or my dog at all and waltzed right up “hold his head turn him around” lifted his tail and acted like my dog was wild for growling. I understand this is a low cost/fast turn around clinic but that doesn’t mean you can just forget any bedside manner. Also if you’re scared of dogs with muzzles on you probably shouldn’t be in the vet field. Not only did they prescribe almost triple the trazadone compared to my 100lbs dog (this one is 53lbs). And this may only be my third dog but I’ve never seen a stitch job so sloppy.

Experiencia positiva: Walk ins only , I walked in on a weekday around 3pm which is slow hour for them. Staff was very kind and they have vaccine packages for kittens or puppies. Thursdays they have no doctors in office. They often experience a high volume of pets so please be patient and allow the employees to work efficiently.

Experiencia negativa: I am writing to rate the horrible and disrespectful way my incredibly kind and passive wife experienced with this place. She rarely gets upset, unlike myself, so when she came home visibly upset I knew it had to be bad. Before I get into the experience let me first explain that my wife is a very petite lady. We are talking 5'2 and 105 lbs. My wife brought our 78 lb dog to the vet for a routine check-up. We are not from here, but she had heard that it is a little lower in cost so she tried them out. She is a bit more Conservative than I am when it comes to spending and thought it was a good idea. She regrets that decision now. After waiting for a long period to check in, the lady at the check-in point decided to be very rude and nasty to her. As I said, she is very passive. If anything she is too kind, but that's not a negative trait in the least bit. She kept her mouth shut and checked our large dog in to be seen. They called her and Mollie, our dog, back to a room. She was approached by a disrespectful guy, no hi or how are you at all. She eventually realized this was actually the veterinarian. He didn't politely ask or request it, but he basically ordered her to put our very large dog on the table. Now, from our experiences vets usually don't even ask that of us, especially my very petite wife. In fact, they don't even put our dog on the table unless it's absolutely necessary because of her size. This was a first. My wife explained that she had medical issues which prevented her from putting the dog on the table. The veterinarian said rudely "well, I have a bad back as well". She never stated that her back was the problem first of all. Secondly, what type of vet does this? My wife stated well, with all due respect, this may not be the best occupation for you if that's the case. At this point, she had not even realized that this was not only the veterinarian, but he was the main person in charge. She wasn't unkind. She simply stated a fact. If you have to tell small women with medical issues to put large dogs on the table than it may not be the best job for you. He got very angry. My wife asked if he had people to help with putting the dogs on the tables. He rudely answered and said that he did. Why would you ask a petite woman to put a heavy dog on the table when you have people who get paid for doing this very thing? Why the snarky attitude and saying "well, I have a bad back too"? Why not just say excuse me ma'am, but I'm going to go get someone who can help put your dog on the table. My wife said that he didn't even want to see our dog after all of this, but she practically begged him to see her. Now, I know that vet care is expensive. There are a lot of people hurting who are desperate for even a small decrease in price. I'm guessing that these people at this place know people are desperate so they think they can treat others any way they choose to. We are not those people. I will advise others to not ever visit this clinic. If they need a helping hand with the vet bill, I will gladly help them out personally. As a business owner myself, I can assure you, I would never treat a client or customer in a similar manner. For those unaware, animals are not stupid. They are smart enough to know when someone is unkind to their people. They can pick up on it when people are nasty or standoffish. These types of people will never be allowed to provide medical care to our dogs or any of the ones that my wife rescues. As I believe I already stated, we are not originally from here. Where we come from, people don't treat clients or customers this way, even if they don't like what they say. Also fyi, if you read the reviews, notice how they always make excuses and get argumentative with anyone who writes a "not so favorable" review. They are kind, but only when they like or agree with what you have to say. I sat here and read the reviews before I posted this. I'm not a "review" type, but people need to know the truth.
Experiencia fantástica: I believe this vet is the cheapest in Indianapolis and provides services at-cost or just above. They are first come first served so prepare to wait! Even though the vet swiftly left the exam room to attend to the very high demand, the lady at check out was very knowledgeable so maybe this is the trade off for the vet being busy? Either way the price was great at $130ish for checkups, microchips, dewormer, vaccines and flea meds for 2 kittens.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely terrible experience at West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic. I brought my two kittens in for minor skin issues and routine check-ups. They were adopted from IACS, so they already had all of their beginning vaccines and full medical records, which I also brought with me. Despite having everything they could possibly need, we were still turned away at the desk. The staff demanded I contact every vet my kittens had ever seen so they could request additional notes — an unnecessary and ridiculous requirement considering I already had detailed records in hand. To make matters worse, I was told the doctor “can’t see certain issues on Saturdays.” What kind of clinic refuses to address basic health concerns just because of the day of the week? Instead of helping, they piled on pointless rules and hoops to jump through, only to deny care in the end. My kittens’ situation was minimal and easily manageable, yet they refused to see them. This place wasted my time, showed no compassion, and left me completely frustrated. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who actually wants their pets cared for.

We are sorry that you did not have a good experience here and it was frustrating. Our clinic policies, which we do have stated on our website, are that cases needing medical review can not be done on a Saturday as it takes additional staff and more time than what the clinic has on a busy Saturday. We always request that records be sent prior to arrival so we can ensure they are reviewed and approved before coming in to see us. We want to make sure that the previous vet and ourselves are on the same page and nothing is duplicated that is not needed. Since we are walk-in only and many clients see us and other vets due to affordability, this is why we have certain policies in place.

Experiencia fantástica: Priceless professional services! Dr. Haney is brilliant, caring and knowledgeable. My cat Peanuts is a former homeless feline that lived on the streets whereas she became very hostile and hard to handle. Peanuts loves Dr. Haney and all of the vet. Techs/assistants. What does that tell you? If my peanuts is happy so am I.! Go visit west Michigan St vet clinic the wait is worth it my friend! Sept 18, 2024 Dr. Johnson and his team of caring, loving and professional techs made me feel as though they did EVERYTHING possible to help my 21 yr old Peanuts before her passing that afyernoon! Dr. Johnson not charged me for "every little" service provided and gave me price estimates before I made any treatment decisions. I am forever grateful!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Even though there is typically a long weight, the staff is very attentive. They always make sure my dogs are healthy and happy. They are reasonably priced which is a huge plus.
Experiencia positiva: My first time here, we had to put our sweet girl down. I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the vet. The office ladies were fantastic, our Vet Tech was fantastic, they made me feel very comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. The Vet however, came in for his “mandatory vet check” before an end of life visit, and said to my dog, not even to me, “you’re a skinny thing aren’t you… but your tail is still wagging” Our dog hadn’t eaten in a week and any water she drank she threw up. So yep. She was pretty skinny. Like we didn’t know that. Glad my happy girl wagged her tail for you after I fed her 7 pieces of chocolate because she was about to be put down. That’s my only complaint, he made me feel like I was making the wrong decision when my dog had no quality of life left, all because her tail was wagging… Otherwise I had a great experience. Everyone was super kind and super helpful.

Experiencia negativa: Wanted to send an email today regarding my recent visits with you all. I first want to mention that I have been bringing my 2 dogs here for the past 11 years. Overall the service has been good and I really like Dr Johnson. However, recently the service has been terrible. Blu was diagnosed with diabetes January 2024. She was due for an updated glucose test, and I brought her in along with our other dog Oscar on 6/13/25. We waited in line to check in for over 2 hours. At check in we were advised we were still in the window of time (4-6 hours after insulin shot). While waiting for over 2 hours I received a call stating that it was too late to take her glucose test and we need to come back another day. That person said they would call me back and they never did. Meanwhile we check in with Oscar see the vet, etc. and Dr Johnson advised me that next time I bring Blu back for glucose check to bring her to the back door so there would be no wait. I brought her back on 6/19 and the entire place was closed. Not one car in the lot at all that day. Website and voicemail made no mention of being closed that day. So a wasted trip. I brought her back again on 7/2, to the back door like Dr Johnson told me to. I did still check in, but didn’t have to wait on the line. Overall not a bad experience but I was there over an hour. Blu’s glucose was low, so they advise to bring her back this week. I brought her there today, went to the back door again, tech said I would need to go wait in line to check in, I said NO Dr Johnson said to bring her to the back door for no wait. Then the tech sent Michelle to tell me that I needed to go wait in the line to check in, that is the process. I told her there was a very long line to check in and she didn’t seem to care. She also said once checked in it should go fast since we are not seeing the vet. I waited in line about 45 minutes, in 90 degree heat with Blu to check in. The entire time not one person was checked in. It was entirely too hot to wait any longer so I went in and bought insulin for Blu, got all may paperwork and advised the tech that we will NEVER be back here again. After 11 years and this is the way we get treated??? I understand it first come first served, but when the Vet specifically says to go to the back door so there is no wait for a quick glucose check, and Michelle was rude about it. There should be exceptions for certain situations, but I guess its all about numbers for you all instead of actually caring for the pets and their owners. I just can't continue to wait for hours and hours every time I come in. I’m done.
Experiencia fantástica: We’ve visited this clinic about a handful of times. I have an energetic, 75 pound, 2 year old Husky mix. The veterinarians do well with him even though he is not always a fan of the check ups. The staff is friendly, give the proper diagnosis and treatment. I will continue to take my dog to the clinic because of the professional, thorough and knowledgeable staff.

Experiencia negativa: Back on March 28th I took my dog in to have her leg looked at and come to find out there was a rubber band in her leg so they did surgery to remove it and then 2wks later I took her back in to have her stitches out and right after that her right foot the same side she had her surgery on is starting to discinigrate meaning all her toe nails r gone and she has no foot the skin on it is completely gone and all u see is bone me and my gf have tried to take care of her foot but now we r out of options I mean her bone is exposed from her toes we don't know if maybe the leg got an infection and it traveled down to her foot we don't know but she is now walking on nothing and I literally have to keep it covered so she don't do any more harm to it

Experiencia negativa: Its taken me over a month to gather my composure and finally write a review but i feel like i needed to share my thoughts on this place, particularly one staff member who i dont have a name for. We brought my beautiful baby boy (a cat) mid April (around the 16th not 100% sure), and he was seen by a man vet who was great. He looked over my cat and noticed how skinny he had gotten and asked about his symptoms and then took some blood work. My cat was diagnosed with FIV which was a complete shock but at least was an explanation for his weight loss and recent susceptibility to getting colds and sneezing. He gave him a shot of antibiotics to help boost his immune system which would be good for 2 weeks and we were told that in 2 weeks if things hadn’t improved or had gotten worse to immediately bring him back in as he would likely need more antibiotics. We were told cats with FIV can live normal lives as long as any illnesses that come up are immediately dealt with. Well two weeks roll around (april 28th) and we return to this place. He wasnt eating much still and i noticed his breathing sometimes seemed labored. This time when we came there two vets working, and we saw a female vet. To put it plainly, she was awful. Completely unkind and non-compassionate towards my scared and sick cat. She called him a dummy during her examination of him when he hissed at her for being too aggressive. We explained how we had him seen two weeks prior and that we were told to immediately bring him back in if his symptoms persisted. Mind you, his symptoms included loss of appetite, sneezing, sniffling, lethargy, and occasional heavy breathing. This woman insisted he didnt need anymore antibiotics and that he probably just had hyperthyroidism. We were told by the man vet 2 weeks prior not to even bother testing for it because his symptoms were likely from a weakened immune system from the fiv. We also dont have much money, hence the reason for coming to this low cost clinic. But we decided to let her test him anyways for hyperthyroidism. It came back normal. (Big surprise). THEN she starts shining a bright flashlight in my already distressed cats eyes for like a solid 5 minutes and says that she thinks he's blind in one eye. Which great, thanks for letting me know, but thats not why we were there that day. I was worried he was dying and needed serious immediate intervention. So the only thing she says is we can give him some fluids and anti nausea medication (he was drinking fluids just fine at home and i didnt believe he was having nausea and it seemed unnecessary). And then we were sent home. No antibiotics. No acknowledgment of any of his distressing symptoms. Just a nasty attitude towards my sweet baby. Well less than 24 hours from this appointment (april 29th) he was DEAD. He died in my arms less than 24 hours after sitting at this vet from 12pm to 4:30pm just to be met with a dismissive and degrading attitude. My baby was only 11 years old and still had life to live had he been given proper treatment and attention. Or at least i could have been warned that he was actively dying and that i needed to spend as much time with him as possible. I feel heart broken. He was my whole world and his last day on earth was met with frustration and annoyance by the people who say they are here to help animals. I am so traumatized i feel like i will never want another pet again. And this is coming from someone who adores and loves cats so much. The man vet who we have seen many times here is amazing and does great work for the animals. I dont know who the woman was working that day i had never seen her but her whole attitude was very dismissive and irritable. Very disappointed with my last visit here and like i said, im so traumatized i may never want to have another pet again.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We want to start off by saying how deeply sorry we are for the loss of your beloved boy. We know FIV can be a devastating disease that some cats can manage to live with but can be very hard on them.
Like human doctors, veterinarians are the same and each one has different ways they treat and go about concerns or treatment. The doctor you saw is a wonderful relief veterinarian that we have. She absolutely adores cats and does very well with them. We are so sorry to hear you did not like your experience with her and did not feel like she had compassion towards your cat. The “dummy” comment was in no way meant to be disrespectful but we are sorry it was perceived in that way. She has her own “dummy” cats as well as we all do and do not want that comment to come across as disrespectful but just meant as a fun way when they are being stinkers.
As mentioned before, veterinarians have different ways each one of them treats specific issues with each pet. Upon a good examination that was performed on him, she was concerned with the eyes being caused by high blood pressure because of a kidney problem, hyperthyroid, or another issue. That is why the bloodwork panel and the thyroid levels were recommended. The vet noted that the sneezing/sniffling were likely viral and not severe enough for antibiotics to be given again. The fluids are to help with dehydration (even if the pets are drinking at home, they can still be dehydrated) and the anti-nausea meds are also helpful for calming the tummy down and increasing appetite. For some cats, just an upset or uncomfortable tummy can lead them to not want to eat, so that medication can help with both. Without the follow up bloodwork being run or x-rays being done, it's hard to give an answer as to why or what was going on with him. Although, we could have run all of the diagnostics and still could not have a result and he still could have passed away due to his weakened immune system due to the FIV. He was given proper treatment and attention based on the examination and what was approved. We had no obvious signs that he was “actively dying”, so we had no way to let you know this unfortunate thing was going to happen.
We are so sorry this happened to him and to you. Our doctors and staff do care deeply about pets, that is why we are here. We are sorry you did feel as though your pet did not receive that. We hope that with healing from this unfortunate heartbreaking event, you will find room in your heart to save and love another pet. Losing a pet is an utterly difficult thing but saving another pet and giving them a life they did not have before helps with making your heart heal a little more.

Experiencia fantástica: Ive noticed there are quite a few reviews that are bashing the vet for simply being busy. When, in reality, it should be appreciated on how busy they are. The place is great, and i drive half an hour and past at least 3 vets because i trust his place more than others. And ive looked around; their pricing really cant be beat. I cant imagine how they stay afloat being half the price of just about any other option. Truly a vet worthy of praise and respect!

Experiencia fantástica: I want to thank West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic from the bottom of my heart for saving my pup Oscar. He needed immediate surgery for a foreign body removal, and the team took care of him the very same day we came in for the x-ray. The doctor was exceptionally knowledgeable, clearly and quickly explained all our options, and impressively found time for the surgery despite her packed schedule. The front desk staff were incredibly professional and empathetic, especially Carla, who supported me through a moment of total astonishment and worry for my furry baby. Not only did they do an amazing job with the surgery and provide all the necessary aftercare supplies and instructions, but they were also patient and kind, guiding me and answering all my questions throughout the three-week recovery process. And to top it all off, this incredible care cost me 90% less than what any other clinic in Indy would charge. These people are truly saints, and I am eternally grateful.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing, the vet techs and the doctor were good sent when my kitty cat was bitten and got sick from an abscess from bite wound . . The wait was minimal , they even did an xray to make sure there were no broken bones. I was freaking out about cost because I had made the mistake of going to emergency vet in beech Grove last time with a horrible experience and was so glad I ran across this clinic this time. They are amazing and I can't thank them enough. With exam, x rays , anti biotic injection, antiinflammatory injection, IV fluids I spent the same amount that it cost me to walk into the emergency vet clinic in beech Grove which had a three hour wait only to deal with super rude people at front desk. At Michigan street vet, everyone was super helpful, kind , zero wait and fixed my baby girl "Satan" right up ❤️❤️. Would give a hundred stars if I could !
Experiencia positiva: It’s not bad really for a few services that they offer like vaccines for your pup. Those are cheap and affordable all that you’d expect from a low cost clinic. Anyways, now I’m wondering if other vets charge less than does this vet. I was told my dog needed a test and it would run us $500. We don’t have that type of money, thus the reason we’re coming to Michigan Street Vet. The doctor said my dog needed this test and refused to give us the prescriptions he had just prescribed because I said I couldn’t afford the test. The staff told me until I ran the test my dog was going to do without the pain medication and antibiotics. We visited the clinic on Monday, it is now Friday and the clinic hasn’t responded to my emails or phone calls regarding my dogs medication. The clinic did help me find a different vet where I could go to run the test for a lower price. They sent me to a vet in Zionsville and they charged me $150 for the same test Michigan Street Vet wanted $500. I’ve never had an issue with this vet or clinic. I would always recommend and commend them but after this whole thing I don’t think I will anymore. They diagnosed my dog with an infection they prescribed her pain meds and antibiotics and ordered a test be run. When I couldn’t afford the test they refused to give my dog her medication. I know the “do no harm” is from doctors and not vets but come on! They prescribed my dog medication and when I can’t pay $500 they say “too bad, until you fork over that money your dog is just gonna have to deal with it!” Doesn’t sound like a great vet or clinic anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: I learned about west Michigan street animal clinic 2 months ago when I had to take my 1 year old cat Leo to the vet for a swollen lymph node, was very happy to find that he was okay and it isn’t cancerous. I had to go back but for a different animal my 4 month old cat maple had been vomiting and lost weight, they took AMAZING CARE of her and not even 24 hours later she is acting so much better and wants to eat again. Cheap and affordable as well! Anywhere else for X-rays and blood work would rack you up to over a thousand dollars! I spent $221 getting blood work, X-rays and medicine for my cats. I’m always grateful to have west Michigan street veterinary close by. Their techs, doctor, and staff are amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: West Michigan Street Vet deserves a 5 star review for professionalism and patient care. Dr. Johnson and staff are great! I’ve been taking my fur babies here for years. It is best to educate yourself about how they handle their patient volume, before making a trip. Today we had a new tech/vet and she was great! She’s new in office (I think) but she paid great attention to detail to my pets and she was very patient with my two chihuahuas. They are small but they can be a handful. The location is not the greatest BUT the patient care is what keeps me as loyal customer. The staff works hard to get everyone in and they always to do their best! ❤️

I will give you the run down: Show up before they open. You will wait in line OUTSIDE so you can sign up for your spot in the que. You do not need to bring your animal at this time - leave them in the car. You will then go back to your car and wait for them to call you inside. Bring a book or something - this might take a while. Look at the hours of operation before going. They don't have time to answer the phones. It is first come first serve. No Vet on Thursdays/ it is a short day. They work diligently to ensure that people from all walks of life are able to care for their pets. <3 please be kind to these people. The Indy community needs their services and they are damn good at what they do.

Wmsvc staff was very professional, understanding, and heartbroken when they gave the news and also very professional and helpful at putting her to rest, definitely recommend this vet clinic any day of the week
Experiencia fantástica: I just referred this place to someone because of the service I used to always get here. Years ago, I would bring my dog, Buster here. Everyone was always great to him. When it was time to say goodbye to Buster, the staff couldn't have been more kind. There was an employee birthday that day and they had leftover food and even chocolate cake for his last meal. They made it as peaceful and as comfortable as it could have been and I will always be grateful.

I’ve heard them altering prices for other people… I get here 01/03 at 3 for the second round of shots for my new puppy and I’m turned down. I did call before I left but of course no answer. I’ve drove 45 min to come to this vet. You would think with the history they would’ve took me especially since it was just shots… Now I’m just going to get a new vet altogether. So many people have told me they’ve stop coming here because it’s simply unprofessional. And If you ever been here you know the parking lot is full of pot holes. Honestly I don’t even really feeling safe over here the plaza is sketchy and the apartments across the street are as well. I’ll pay more for the better service and an actual appointment.

We do not make appointments in order to be able to see as many clients as we can. Experiencia negativa: Warning to others that come here because it’s affordable. They will not tell you that if you put down a deposit and don’t use it within 60 days that you lose your money . The paper work doesn’t state that either so there’s not agreement but somehow they justify keeping your money . They said a deposit is a promise of services . I have had many services so I don’t see why I wasn’t allowed to use my deposit . Very Shady . I’m not sure if it’s legal to keep money with no services rendered.
Brandy, when you put down a deposit, in your receipt it is stated that you must use your deposit within 6 months after you put it down otherwise it will be forfeited. It has been multiple years since that deposit was made, you have forfeited that deposit. Experiencia negativa: I was referred to this clinic by my pets vet due to the services needed and it was the worst experience of ever having to go to a Vet. This place never answers their phones, they give you a pamphlet for a muzzle, but does not specify the particular muzzle in the pamphlet is the muzzle to get and if you don't have this particular muzzle they wont see your pet. Now here's where the unprofessionalism comes in. I took my dog the first time for a consult and they gave him antibiotics and inflammatory medication for the swelling and to bring him back once finished, brought him back on a Saturday (bc its hard when you are a working furbaby owner) only to be advised they cant do blood draw/xrays, to bring him back Monday and they would just take him without us waiting in the line that is always around the building. Remind you he had his muzzle/cone on and no one on this Saturday advised it was the incorrect muzzle, after being registered and waiting in waiting area so they saw his muzzle then. We come in Monday at the back door like instructed. Once we get in i get a nurse who had an earlier issue with a parking space (another story) and really gave the vibe of not helping my dog. My pet growled when she tried to touch his sore area, but whom had on a muzzle and cone therefore unless he had magic jaws to remove it, he couldn't bite her. He was just uncomfortable with her touching his sore spot. so she leaves to get doctor and never said they were not going to see him because of his muzzle, left us sitting there. another nurse comes in and she says we cant see him because he does not have the correct muzzle. I work okaye, getting off isn't easy, so when i do take off i expected to get my pet treated. Nope, they rejected him. I cant believe how rude and unprofessional they were. Faces has the most loving doctors and nurses and they really care. This place i will never come back.

Thank you for this review. As we have on our website and phone prompts, it is difficult for us to answer our phones due to how busy we are. That is why it is suggested to always leave a voicemail so someone can return your call by the end of the day or the next business day. We know this can be frustrating but due to our high volume, we must focus on the people who come in during our business hours. We try our best (when we have enough staff) to answer the phones as we can.
As far as the muzzle policy, it was discussed with you at your last visit that he needed a basket muzzle for his future visits. The sheet that we gave you even had the photo of the muzzle that is needed as well as stating we do not accept velcro muzzles. You were not able to be seen on Saturday due to the high volume and with him, we just need more than 2 staff members to restrain him since he is hurting, aggressive, and just not a happy camper. We are sorry that it was not obviously noticed about the incorrect muzzle because it would have been corrected if it was appropriately seen. Yes, due to his aggression we would still take caution with anything being done especially since he had a velcro muzzle which pets can easily remove but also because we still do not want to be muzzle punched or lunged at. You were informed by the manager that she was the one who assisted the last time with him and that she went, over in-depth, the muzzle policy and what was needed for him to have the recheck the following week, that was not done. We know its hard to take time off of work to get your furbaby seen and we are sorry these things can be difficult when it comes to pets who are aggressive. Everyone was professional with this situation and we apologized for this issue but since this was discussed with you during your first visit, we had to decline seeing him until an appropriate muzzle was placed on him. We even offered you to go to the store to get the correct muzzle and then return so he can still be seen without the wait on the same day. As far as the parking situation, you were parked in staff only parking areas that was needed for staff so that is why you were asked to move. Your future vet can reach out for your pets records.

She used to come off snippy but after speaking with her more and more and realizing why I absolutely adore this woman. I want to change my review and just let yall know they are awesome. The wait for the SO CALLED Veterinary was EXCESSIVE, my time wasn’t VALUED. The Vet Dr. DID NOT check/examine my dog AT ALL. I had to RE-EXPLAIN the same information I had already give two other people. He left the room to only return with a list of meds with additional costs. He DID NOT diagnose my dog with a specific issue. Therefore how can you recommend medications. You can’t and shouldn’t just to RIP CUSTOMERS OFF! ***AVOID THIS BUSINESS***

Experiencia negativa: Took my mini dachshund in to get checked shots and deposit for spay. The vet told me that he wanted my dog to lose weight before he's willing to spay her. I've had 2 other vets tell me they spay fat dogs all the time, so I'm so confused on that part. I also took her in for him to look at her tooth. No where in her chart does it say anything about her messed up canine tooth, they have too many people to see to care, I guess. Not a fan of the FACT I have money on my account and no longer want to use them as a vet service they say they need the exact card you paid with, okay well mine got stolen it goes to the same account the numbers just off. Irritating when I go in to get the refund and they can't do it, "management" has to approve it and will get to it sometime today. When management called, they explained in the voicemail that since the surgery deposite was $50, even though I overpaid on my account, they can only give me $50 of the $60 sitting there. So I'm confused as to why I can't just get it off the account was it no their to use. Don't expect a refund if you extra pay, that's all I'm saying. I'm just gonna go down there again and just wait for "management" to approve it right there and then so everyone's time can stop being wasted. They are one of the cheapest vets in indy though so if you're willing to put up with some bs, this is your place to go.

Experiencia fantástica: Ok, I've got to be honest...the wait was terrible. Long lines outside, on the sidewalk. Barking dogs, crying kids, the heat. Just awful. But once you're seen, very inexpensive, compared to other vet clinics. Nice staff, professional and caring.
Experiencia negativa: Front desk is awesome, friendly, and kind. The Vet doctor however is terrible. They didn't want to perform a surgery without spaying my dog in the process. A 5 month old puppy being spayed especially a mastiff will jepordize their growth. Any vet worth their salt should know that. I will NEVER come back to this clinic.
Experiencia negativa: Front desk was awesome other than that I don’t recommend this clinic. My dog was seen for a tumor on her face and I was told she could only get it removed if she was spayed. They won’t remove the tumor unless she’s spayed. They didn’t do any x-rays to see why her paws are shaking (they stated that if she got spayed her paws wouldn’t shake ).This place is low cost / affordable but it’s worth paying more and saving your fur babies.

Experiencia positiva: front desk and techs were awesome, but the vets are always questionable. the vet manhandled my dog who i said was anxious and reactive, causing him to be even more uncomfortable. The techs that came in to actually finish his exam after were extremely helpful and comforting to him which I appreciate immensely. I get you're moving through people quick, but making sure pets have a decent experience is still worthwhile. EDIT: almost forgot to say they never even told me what was wrong with my dog…
Experiencia negativa: I went here 2 times for my cat who was in bad condition and all they gave him was eye drops that didn’t even fix his problem. And then two weeks later my cat got even more worse and couldn’t eat and his eye problem was still messed up so I went back and they gave my lotion to get his appetite back . They said he needed blood tests when that wasn’t even his problem. Then they gave him some antibiotic shot at the last minute which they should have done earlier which made my cat miserable. I wasted $350 in the past two times I went here and in the end they didn’t even know what was wrong with my cat. They next day my cat end up dying because he was such in bad condition. I will never go to this vet again!

Experiencia negativa: I brought my cat in for a possible UTI and all the vet did was rub her belly. I didn’t see him check anything out in the exam room. 35 for an exam and all he did was rub her belly and give her pills for inflammation which doesn't treat the UTI. Not really sure why I’m giving her pills for inflammation, and they cost an extra 35. Not including the 40 dollar urinalysis. :(

A physical exam does cost $35 in which we check for any bumps or masses that can not be seen. We also need further diagnostic to be able to tell exactly what is wrong with the pet, which is an additional cost depending on what we need. Experiencia negativa: I came in with a sick puppy in my back seat and it died in my back seat while I watched the office manager act like a child arguing with another tenant in the building over parking for 20 min. They charged me 70 at check in for the exam 35 and the parvo test 35. Finally a lady came out and did the test for parvo she didnt even look at my dog (if she would have she would have known he was dead. I go in the cage after she walks away with parvo test in hand and I realize my dog has just passed. I'm having a breakdown I have had little to no sleep watching over my baby bringing him back to watch his little body go weak again. I yell help help get me help please!!!!!! And they come running out as fast as they went in and in the middle of me losing it one of them takes my dog out of my back seat and the other looks at me emotionally drained mess and says " I need 70 more dollars to creamat him since heis an Infected dog? Mind you the test takes 10 min and it wasn't even 3. And when I tell her just paid you 70 for an exam that didn't happen and the parvo test that was done on a dead dog!!!!! The point is the behavior of your staff is Disgusting! And the way the act together is Ridiculous as adult we should all know that you can't control other people. But you can control how you react to them. My children even know better then to behave and talk to people they way your staff talked to my wife. Also I should have been refunded for the exam that didn't take place we won't mention the parvo test wasn't even done before the dog was dead

We are sorry you had to witness the issues in the back with the person who has continued to show us disrespect for the past week, the owner went out to defend us and we are sorry you had to be there for that. You checked in only 20min before the tech came out to do the test so the wait time for that was actually not bad since how busy we are. I do not want to discuss the specifics of your parvo pup in this reply out of respect for all. We discussed everything with the gentleman that was there during this time (not sure if this is Adam or Keri) of what was going on because the lady was very upset. We told him what was going on and that was why it was recommended to go to ER earlier by the technician. He approved us to proceed with the dog and we asked him as he was holding the lady if it was ok to take the pet and he nodded his head yes. Unfortunately, there is the fee with cremation of your pet because parvo pets can not be buried in your yards. We expressed our condolanced to both of you multiple times.

Experiencia fantástica: Admittedly, I was instructed to take my dog to an ER vet because their equipment was down, but talking with other customers and my own experience with their staff, they are a GREAT place to take your pet. I heard nothing but great things about them and I hear their prices are very reasonable. Again, their staff was nothing short of wonderful, overly apologetic that their equipment was down and couldn't treat my dog, and even though a tech came out to do an "eyeball exam" on my dog, they didn't charge me a cent; even apologized repeatedly that they couldn't do any blood work or X-rays for my dog. Yes, there was a line to get in, but the wait was far less than what I experienced at the ER vet. I never got to speak with an actual doctor, but the front desk staff and the vet tech were very, very accommodating, concerned, apologetic, and provided me with as much info as they could. I absolutely will go back here because it's clear that these folks are dedicated to your pet along with very reasonable prices. Again, everyone in line had nothing but great things to say about them, too.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going here for the last 4 years. I have had nothing, but wonderful experiences at the West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic and I am so thankful that the clinic exists. Even at peak timing when its so busy the staff here is so professional! I have seen some pretty disrespectful customers over the years that I know I wouldn't have been able to keep my patience with, but they always keep it classy. Big Thanks to all the staff and Dr. Johnson for being such amazing big hearted people. I know their heart has to be in their work otherwise they wouldn't be able to do this day after day! I found out about this place when my dog needed to uthenized and they were so helpful. So when I got my new baby girl I knew exactly where I wanted to take her and then when I got her brother a year later I knew I was gonna continue going here. Yes sometimes the wait times might be long, but the care and pricing is worth it. XOXO from me and my fur babies Willow and Maverick.

Experiencia fantástica: I got the male vet everyone’s bashing on here. He’s fine, just short with people. I don’t really care as long as my critter is taken care of. I spent less than 2 hours here including exam and check out. The wait isn’t too bad bc they have a quiet room to wait in or you can chill in your car and they’ll call you when it’s your turn.
Experiencia negativa: The person at the front desk was nice BUT I drove over 30 minutes after repeatedly checking the hours on their website. Arrived at 3:45 with a dying 16 year old dog and was turned away. I will not return here. They gave me a list of other options who all turned me down as well. Very disappointing experience stacked on to a very depressing situation.
Experiencia fantástica: If you're low on funds and you have a pet that needs care, this is definitely the place to go! The staff are wonderful and the vets are very caring. Prescriptions are very inexpensive as well.

Experiencia negativa: I’m really unsure of this place. It’s supposed to be cheaper than traditional vets because of the walk in availability and the wait time. I’m not certain it is and I think they tried to pull one over on me. My dog went for an ear infection and one of the meds she was prescribed was 100mg carprofen (15 quantity). I took her back not even 3 weeks later for what appeared to be an infected nail bed, they didn’t even look at her paw or touch it they glanced and assumed such them gave me some different price quotes for antibiotics and carprofen or X-rays. They tried to charge me for a blood test, saying that because of her age in order to prescribe carprofen it was necessary, despite the fact it was for the same quantity&mg they gave me 3 weeks ago with no blood test? Makes no sense. Her pad on her paw is dry and they didn’t suggest anything for it, just the guess on diagnosis and the quote for X-ray etc with was $460. The visit and just antibiotics was $75. I’m guessing this place is good for cheap spay/neuters and vaccines. Not so much for anything else.
Experiencia fantástica: This clinic is a Superhero to Pets & their families ❤️ Lowcost Walkin pet clinic. 1st cm 1st serve. In and out within 2 hours, which included the 10 minutes wait in line to check-in, 1 hour wait for a room, and 10 min wait to check out. Visit cost $35 (and addressed multiple concerns)!!! After telling Dr. Johnson the reason for todays visit, he actually asked "is there any other issues going on"!?! THIS MAN IS A SAVIOR. We addressed 3 issues and even discussed my other 1 dogs whuch were at home. To my surprise, the office visit cost did not change. 5 Meds to treat ALL issues cost $100. Checkin and out receptionists were both kind, compassionate, and funny. Dr Johnson moves quick, but always listens and gives great recommendations. Vet assistant were very friendly and compassionate. I feel like they really care.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing care from start to finish! Yes you have to wait, but the pricing makes up for it by a lot! The front desk staff are amazing, the techs are amazing, and the vet we saw is amazing! This was a complete opposite experience from another low cost vet in the area and I was pleasantly surprised! They don't discriminate against breeds and require you to muzzle your dog for no reason. My boy was loved on by everyone! Highly, highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: Was recommended to go here from the emergency vet we had to visit for our pups issues the night prior because of having a tight budget. My senior dog was running a 104+ fever and shaking. We were recommended to get bloodwork to see any issues going on internally and once we finally got up in line after the long wait they immediately denied us saying that they require the medications of the dog and previous medical history records in the past, 24 hours hours in advance at minimum. We literally just needed bloodwork done to help diagnose the issue. This is supposed to be a walk in ONLY clinic, they literally don’t even allow you to schedule appointments. Clearly they do not care about the animals. DO NOT come here if expecting good service and definitely don’t if you’re an actual walk in.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff is absolutely amazing. They are very compassionate and caring veterinarians and techs. My Tyson gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot it’s like he already knows where he’s going. For him to be a pit-bull they treat him with such respect and love. I highly recommend taking your pets there and the veterinarian fee’s is affordable.
Experiencia negativa: Don't get your animal spayed or neutered here they don't tell you their policy until the day of that you also have to microchip your pet that cost you more money then what was originally agreed apon and you can't back out and try and spay or neutere somewhere else with out not geting your deposit back then they tell you it's going to be over $$$ of dollars even tho you already payed half of the procedure. Not to mention the staff who worked the phone calls on Monday Feb 5th where rude when asked about giving medication and about the care for after the procedure.

Upon looking at your paperwork and signed estimate, we were way under the high side of the estimate (and a little over the low end) which included the additional services you requested on your surgery paperwork. Our microchip policy started this month (which is $10 during your pets spay/neuter) as to help when pets are lost/taken that proves ownership and significantly helps the shelters find owners the pets belong to and will help them (hopefully) cut down on the amount of unknown strays in the shelter. As you mentioned, you did only pay half of the procedure so there was an additional amount due when you picked up. Please email us to further discuss as we are confused about your displeasement. Experiencia negativa: I’m not happy at all with my experience. I was given the wrong information and not the complete information for taking my dog to get his shots with the Puppy package in December ..that first visit I was told it had to be scheduled to continue ( bc of neuter) so I had to give money more money to hold the spot. Ok .. but instead he was just supposed to come back every 2 weeks for about 3-4 times which the lady who took my payment didn’t inform me. I didn’t want neuter, just shots . ( so bc no one stated the 2 week thing, it’s safe to assume his shots would be handled in that scheduled appointment) That’s something u want to Inform the owner verbally before hand. the day before the appointment you tell me he should have been back every two weeks after the first appointment! ? That’s crazy! Other wise I would have been back for I want my dog to have all his shots ASAP. I was told only availability for appointment is February. It’s Feb . Now She’s saying bc he’s past the time , the puppy package cancels and no refund. I was not given the correct information about that package’s itinerary. When the manager calls me back, SHE ASKS ME A QUESTION AND WHILE IM ANSWERING SHE RUDLY SPEAKS OVER ME AS IF I WASN’T JUST TALKING. Im trying to explain the situation for maybe she wasn’t informed bc she a new person I’m speaking with , she continued to talk over me , I asked for her to let me speak so she can understand what I’m asking but she continues.. that can be frustrating. So I did get a loud and AGAIN ASK HER TO PLZ LET ME SPEAK ! Ur not understanding what I’m asking of you, then Hangs up. I don’t appreciate the rudeness like my Dog isn’t a vet member nor am I a paying customer. I will not be back . Make sure all your staff understands all packages and is giving all valuable information verbally ! Ps: to the manager that hung up on me and wouldn’t let me soak , I didn’t want a refund just maybe to put that neuter hold appointment money towards his shots I have to now start bringing him in for bc again no one said that since i was misled on the steps to go about it . . But I will just take it as a L . I won’t be back ! But that was the rudest experience I’ve ever had with a stranger . You were given all of the information at check out and when the receptionist went over the puppy package, its stated that a neuter is required when you purchase the package. All of the information was also on your invoice which stated when vaccines were due next, what the puppy package policy was and you even recieved a separate invoice which went over the information about the surgery deposit you made which stated if the surgery is canceled under 48hr notice, you do not recieve your deposit back. You stated that there was a lot going on and your pup was acting up when you were in here and did not hear everything being told. Upon the conversation with management, you continued to talk over them as they were trying to explain the policy to you and the information you were given and what it said on your paperwork. We even said we would resend you the invoice that had proof that information was on there, which you declined even though you said you lost that paperwork after leaving the clinic. You were told many times to stop yelling during the conversation and told 3 times that if you continued to yell, we would hang up. Upon the second conversation, you continued to question the refund or putting the money on your account and as we tried to reiterate our policy, you continued to interrupt and not listen to us try to answer your questions. During these conversations, you were belligerent which is why you were told you were fired as a client and not allowed to return back. We hope you and your next veteriary office have a happier & healthier client-patient relationship.
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly atmosphere. Make sure to get there before 8:00 if you want to get put on a list before they open. Even if you don't make it they were very fast at getting people in and out. I didn't know anything about the list so I had to wait till 9:00 to go inside and check my dog in but I got called in 20-30 minutes later and was done by 10:45

Experiencia fantástica: Brought in an older feral Kitty that had been injured and infected and all sorts of stuff. Great from start to finish. They were efficient, kind, and so affordable. I had read earlier reviews, and personally I loved the main vet gentleman and his demeanor. I'm a fan of cut and dry and to the point. He was kind and responsive to Miss Pinky, and informative and detailed with me. In 2016, my 12 year old cat had a problem that couldn't be fixed and this is where she was put to rest. They were Beyond gracious and empathetic. They understand that you don't have to be wealthy to be rich in love.

Experiencia negativa: Worst place I took an animal ever! My daughters puppy had parvo. They wouldnt treat her puppy over a clean up fee. She had barely came up with the money for the treatment but was short the $50 clean up fee. So they let her puppy die!!!! Wouldnt even do a payment plan for 50 bucks till friday. That's 2 days!!! The staff was rude and very hateful!!!

As parvo is very contagious we have to take it very seriously. We have multiple signs in our clinic, outside the clinic, on our website, phone prompts, and we make the owners sign an acknowledgement form that they will not let their pet on the ground or there will be a cleaning fee as parvo can be deadly and easily spreads. Additionally, we have never had any payment plans and payment is due at the time of service. All of this is explained to the clients upfront when they sign paperwork. We give clients some time to gather funds if they need to but we cannot do anything if they don't come back for their appoinments. All the pricing is given at the time the paperwork is signed and when the pup/dog is found to be parvo positive, so everyone is aware of the full cost before proceeding with treatment. We truly are sorry that the puppy did not make it.
