Negative experience: It was as a good place to take your pet , not anymore! This place is disgraceful, and the staff is very nasty and hostile , they do not care about anything, but themselves, as you can see in their deceptive response to my review, they interact in contempt with customers and their animal companions. ..The employees /staff will also swear and deny I was a paying customer, just trying to cover-up for their nefarious misconduct. ....Their is a female veterinarian that works here that should be removed from working with animals! ...They want you to pay upfront before you even get in the door! They refuse to "supervise" their employees and business. ...And to be fair and honest Fox was a excellent lead veterinarian, but he allowed his nefarious staff/employees to fully takeover this once very good vet clinic. I would not recommend you take your pet here!

Positive experience: I've been taking my Hershey here since he was just 9wks old, it's closer to my home and he is familiar here! He had a full checkup recently , it's getting around insurance time! Visit went well, afternoon appointments are nice, I wish it was a little less costly, but they can groom too!

They always have done a great job keeping him up on all vaccines and screenings. And Rosemary does an excellent job grooming him. They combine professionalism with down home friendliness and care!

Dr. Fox is.so attentive and hears me when I have concerns. He always treats our pets accordingly and doesn't just pump them with meds if it isn't necessary. I will continue to take my precious fur babies here.

Fantastic experience: My sister has gone here for years and I recently moved to the same side of town. She normally sees Dr Fox who I also got to visit with and he is AMAZING! So kind and attentive, makes sure we're comforting the kitties while they get exams & shots. It was so kind and professional here.

Fantastic experience: Westside has taken excellent care of my cats since the early 1990s. I even adopted a kitten for my daughter thru their office. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Positive experience: I dont want to belittle the clinic because i know lots of people have positive experiences here and thats great. But for me however, it wasnt the best. They did help me figure out my cat had diabetes. But after that my appointments felt rushed. I met my vet once other than that all commincation was via phone calls and brief. The day they taught me how to give the insulin injection the vet techs were so slammed i felt like she didnt have the time to give me all the imformation i needed. Last straw was when i was asked to call and give an update on how he was doing, the vet some how didnt get the message, or says she didnt get the message. I called to let them know he was doing worse. After going to a new vet, i learned my suspicion was correct and there was a lot things i wasnt told about diabetes and the treatment process and i was right he wasnt getting better. They gave me a whole pamplet to read and stuff i need to be doing at home for him, which is great, i had to keep googling things which we know isnt always the beat imformation. Also grateful he doesnt have to stay at the vet all day for GB test because that stressed him out, which makes it worse for him. Everytime he would get home he would be worse. And every time he would come home missing stuff. They have his collar, the food bowls i would send so they could feed him before his insulin shot, although they also didnt give him the correct insulin dose, which is weird its wrote on his records how much he was suppose to recieve. But i truly hope every one else continues to have positive experiences there. But dont ever be scared to get second opinions.

Positive experience: Dr Matthews is awesome. Great attitude and so kind.

Negative experience: They will charge you a ridiculously high amount for general services and not inform you of the cost til after the procedure is done. $750 to fix a 5 pound cat.

Negative experience: They charged $744.71 to spay a 5 month old kitten with no complications. For context most places charge between $300-$400, capping out at around $600. When we called to ask why it cost so much more we were told "We gave you an itemized receipt, sorry you didn't ask more questions first" If your only defense is that we should have been more careful you are running a scam, not a business. Save yourself some trouble and go to a more reputable business. (Itemized receipt attached)

Fantastic experience: Everyone who works here is so friendly and caring. We have used Dr Fox as our Veterinarian for years. He was very gentle and compassionate when we had to put our last kitty to sleep and has given the best care to our new kitty we've had for two years now.

Negative experience: Had good experiences in the past, but the most recent is making wonder if I want to continue giving them my business. Called in to get motion sickness meds for our cat who will be going on a road trip with us. They refused to refill her prescription and wanted me to bring her in since they haven’t seen her in a bit. Bring her in for what? She gets nauseous during car rides. I obliged to their request, but of course they don’t have any appointments available for her and we are leaving tomorrow. Makes me wonder if they really care about our pet or just want money from another appointment. Guess she will just get sick on our roadtrip. Thanks Westside!

Fantastic experience: So impressed with this place! Dr Trapp is amazing. I love that everyone here calls your pets “kiddos”. Adorable! Everyone is super friendly. we got my 3 cats in and out way faster than I thought it would take. Pricing was right around what I imagined it would be as well.

Negative experience: I want to preface this by saying I had been a Westside client for a very long time, at least the past 12-15yrs, prior to the following incident that I’m about to share. It pains me to share this, and it has taken me a couple of weeks to even get to a place where I can write this. I take no pleasure or joy in this, and I’m not sharing this to be spiteful or vengeful. I’m sharing it for two reasons: 1) because Westside needs to be held accountable for this, and 2) because if this happened to me, it could happen to anyone, and I DO NOT want something like this to ever happen again to another Westside client. On the morning of July 10th, I had dropped my dog off to the Westside to be groomed. I asked that I be called as soon as he was done so that he wasn’t there all day. At about 3pm, I still had not received a call, so I contacted the office and was told that I could come and pick him up. When I arrived, one of the techs brought out a little dog that was NOT MY DOG and said, “Here you go!” Stunned, I looked at her and said, “That’s not my dog.” For a moment, I thought they were joking or something. I was extremely confused. The tech, also looking confused, said, “Oh! Whoops, let me go back and get him,” trying to laugh it off as if it was just a harmless mistake. But it wasn’t a harmless mistake, because as it would turn out, these people had GIVEN MY DOG TO SOMEONE ELSE!! Getting my dog back turned into a nearly three hour ordeal that even involved the police - yes, I actually ended up having to call the police, because everyone there became real close-mouthed once they realized what they had done, and they were not forthcoming with the barrage of questions I was asking regarding the location, health, and safety of my pet. All the way up until the police arrived, I was given minimal, confusing details that only led to more questions. This incident was so bizarre and so traumatizing, and it violated my trust so deeply and irreparably. One of the truly appalling aspects of this situation is that other than perhaps the practice manager (who, near the end of this ordeal, was finally called in) no one said to me, with any degree of sincerity, “Ms. Jackson, we’re SO sorry this happened and we take full responsibility for it.” Not the doctors, not the staff, no one. They literally put me in a back room while they went on as if it was business as usual. Again, I’m not sharing this out of a sense of spite or vengeance, nor do I have a personal vendetta against Westside. For me, this is about accountability for causing grievous harm to a client and putting an animal at extreme risk (I still have no idea where my dog was, who he was with, or if he had been given anything during the time that individual had him!). I suspect that after this happened Westside was hoping I’d just go away quietly and not speak a word of it again, especially not publicly. But I feel a responsibility to ensure, as much as I can (even if it means putting them on blast like this) that they put protocols and policies in place to prevent something like this from happening again. Because as I said at the beginning of this post: if it happened to me, it can happen to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I am so impressed with this vet office!! The office is beautiful and soooo clean. The staff is friendly helpful and positive and the vet I saw was awesome. She was thoughtful, compassionate and listened to all the details. She didn't rush the appointment even though it was the end of the day and she treated our newly adopted cat with such tender care. I can't say enough about how impressed I was and their office cat is adorable too. Highly recommend and I will be going back!!

I can confidently say that this was one of the best experiences I have had with a vet. Dr. Fox was incredibly patient and took the time to explain everything about my pet’s condition. The staff were kind and you can tell they have a genuine love for animals. Westside has definitely become our go-to and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable vet!!

The veterinarians are easy to communicate with, trustworthy, and reliable. I’ve never questioned the advice they’ve given. We brought my childhood puppy to see Dr. Fox many years ago. Now an adult, I still count on the staff at Westside to care for my fur babies! I can’t imagine working with any other office.

Positive experience: This is the first time I would say that this Grace person took care of me and very unpleasant and so upset that I had an argument with my friend because of it and walked out until payment. I went out of my way to weigh my pups myself and as a NP I am very accurate with everyone. She weighed my dogs again after it was done 5min before and never had this issue with Rachel who knows me very well. I will never work with Grace again and request Rachel every time please. Bad day there!!

Fantastic experience: I first called them when my dog was dying of cancer and one morning, I knew it was his time to go. I called my vet but they couldn't get him in that day. I proceeded to call more than 10 other vets who refused me since I wasn't their client. I was about to call NIVES when Westside said they would take him in. After the compassion and kindness they showed me, who wasn't even their client, I switched all my pets to them. They have been professional, friendly, and above all, I trust my pets with them. I just wished I would have switched sooner.

They go out of their way to make you and especially your pet comfortable. Took my babies to get groomed Jackson came out beautiful and 5 lbs thinner - he has very long hair. Keesha looked cute and shiney. They both looked great Rosmary did a marvelous job. I would not take my kids anywhere else for medical or grooming

Fantastic experience: Our pets are family and are very important to us. I have been going to Westside for over 10 years because I have complete faith and trust in the care they provide. Even when we moved an hour away, I would only take them there. Dr. Trapp is the one and only for us. One of my cats is very anxious and she always considers the best way to handle her for she can provide the care that she needs. I feel my pets are lucky to have such an awesome Veterinarian. And I'm so grateful for Rachel. She handles all of my concerns. It's hard to express the recognition they and the rest of the staff deserves.

Negative experience: Overpriced. Rabies vaccine is $48 for a cat. And they gave my pet a second vial of medication he normally gets one of without asking first or looking at his medical records. you think they would ask before giving the second vial. being that the medication is $98 a vial.

Fantastic experience: We love this practice. Dr. Trapp has been our vet for most of the last decade + and we drive from Angola to see her. We’ve also seen Dr. Fox who is also very nice.

Negative experience: This was a hard one to see go downhill. Been bringing my dog here for about three years. This has always been a place I recommended, but this last visit was just bad. They literally only trimmed one ear and left the other long for my dogs haircut! And then I was double charged for his flea and tick medication. That’s ok, an honest mistake. But the employees kept saying out loud, “it was probably the new girl” Never a good look to bad mouth the new employee. Unprofessional all around. Will be finding a new spot.

Positive experience: UPDATE: A very family type place to have your family pet taken care of. Friendly and always respecful. They take real care in careing for your family pet. Thats y i've been goin there 4 several decades and will continue. HERW IS UPDATE, This trip I had my cat groomed. They called & said they had 2 put him 2 sleep (xtra $50). Usually great trim, this timr TOTAL HACK JOB. He was even ASLEEP.!!!!

Fantastic experience: Everyone there was very professional they made my kitty feel comfortable and not scared. Dr fox was awesome and gentle with my kitty Chucky. He let me know what v the v best treatment and ways to keep Chucky healthy.

Fantastic experience: We recently moved back to Ft Wayne after 31 years. Tried another vet first and didn’t have a great experience at all. Called Westside just to ask questions about how they handle reactive dogs and Rachel put us at ease and we scheduled. First visit was amazing. Dr Fox was great. The techs were fantastic. It was so clean annd smelled nice. Excellent experience beginning to end. We highly recommend westside!

Negative experience: I booked an appointment in October for Jan and they called me in December to move me around as if my Time and my animal are not as important. Is anyone gonna pay me for my wasted time off? I will miss a DAY of work now because I cannot trust you to keep the appointment. Time to find a new vet who values the owners Time. Apparently these people think everyone is rich and doesn't work and they have endless time and money.
