Fantastic experience: I cannot express the gratitude I have for this vet and their staff. Our Ruth needed to be seen urgently. I had called them during lunch hours after crying all morning trying to find recommendations for an urgent vet outside of going to the ER vet. I was given a return call within the hour. I was able to get Ruth there and checked in 2 hrs later. Ruth was seen by Dr Beck and she was so kind and understanding. Ruth made everyone in their staff go AWWWWWWWWEEEEE!!! Ruth was a ham and excited. The staff made sure we were up to date on all information. Very friendly. Very understanding. Hannah was amazing at the front desk. She comforted me that everything was okay and that she understands that small growths can become bigger over time. There was no judgment. There were no side eyes. No dirty looks. Nothing but love, compassion and understanding from that team. I love the way they handled our situation with Ruth so much, that I want to make them all of our pet's primary veterinary. Spent under the amount I thought it would be for her examination and her 2 medicines before her set surgery. I highly HIGHLY recommend this vet! I cannot say enough about them.

It's the cleanest nicest office I've ever been to and the vets and staff are all wonderful. I love that it's a walk in clinic as well as all too often when my pets needed to be seen available appointments were days away... when your fur family needs to be seen days away can turn out to be life threatening. So glad I found this wonderful veterinary office!!

Negative experience: Earlier this year I came home to find my cat crying in great pain. I rushed her to the vet arriving half an hour before closing. There was no one in the parking lot nor in the waiting room. They were adamant that they were too busy to help me and gave me an address across town for emergency service. They may have lost a long time customer but they did get to go home on time. I can still hear her cries. Unless I have no other choice I’m not going back there. Sorry Dr. Rademaker. I wish you had been there that day.

Fantastic experience: This place is awesome they took him in because he had a uti. And they were great they care about you and your pet. Their prices are reasonable and if their not they make it right fur you. Vets are so expensive and living on disability you can't afford much but they ask you is that to high and if the prices are high they find you one you can afford. But only that they cat about you and your pet and that means alot to me

Fantastic experience: LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE!!! this office!! Dr. Rademaker genuinely cares about what is best for your pet and only recommends those services that are in her best interest. He is not suggesting unnecessary services to make money. Not only is he an excellent pet doctor but you can tell that he is truly a good person as well. The office staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

Fantastic experience: I love how they are always so nice and love on my babies like they was theirs. They work with what I have money wise after the initial visit cost.

Positive experience: I'm giving a 3 because the nurses and x Ray tech was amazing but the actual doctor had no compassion what so ever. Just very cold hearted when we had to put our baby down.

Fantastic experience: Our family, especially our two dogs, love Allen Veterinary Hospital! Every time we visit, our dogs are treated like VIPs from the staff. The option to walk-in if our pups aren't feeling well and to schedule wellness appointments is worth its weight in gold. And speaking of gold, the prices for services are both reasonable and competitive. One of our dogs has a chronic illness and she gets thorough, comprehensive care that is allowing her to live a very happy and full life after her diagnosis. We cannot recommend Allen Veterinary Hospital enough!

Positive experience: Not full 5 stars cause I overthink.. Walked in and they were kind. They understanding about my cats situation.. The vet gave me options, and I chose what was best for my little man... They let me be with him to the end..

We have used many different vets (we move often) and I've never had an experience even slightly comparable to our visits with Dr. R. Thank you for being there for our babies!

Fantastic experience: I took my kitty Sadie to the clinic for a walk-in appointment this morning. She had vomiting and diarrhea, they gave her a shot for that and fluids, and she is right as rain. I couldn't be happier.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience here! They worked so hard to save our baby kitten who was nearly unresponsive - and she’s alive and home! They let us stay and discuss the best possible option for her for as long as we needed and even let us go back to say goodbye before we drove an hour home. So happy with the kindness and care we received here from receptionists, techs, nurse, and vet!

Negative experience: AMAZING vets and techs, used them for DECADES!! Sadly, the quality of the front desk staff had declined - RUDE!!! If you can't be polite to clients, then you should get a different job.

Negative experience: I love this place they are so great with my animals they're loving and caring they treat my dogs as if they were their own pets they provided great service even during the difficult time with the pandemic then made it easy to get in and out for your appointment get medications and answer all questions very well I have been using this that for approximately 10 years maybe longer and I wouldn't consider using others I've went to a few other ones but did not like the service the attitude or the environment so I went back here I recommend you take your fur babies to this great place... After our last 2 visits in June 2025 im feeling like the compassion i once felt taking my dogs there just isn't there anymore with some of the staff the rude receptionist..knocked on back door 3 mins before they opened because my dog started acting like she was having convulsions and was told go to the front door we'll open in a few minutes I would think if there's a pet in distress they would have taken her right in no we waited an hour and a half even though everyone there said plz go ahead of us lobby was empty when we finally got in very disappointed after all the years we've been going here..

Fantastic experience: Just so everyone is clear, there is a doctor here in the Fort Wayne area who has great experience with rats/rodents. We had an awesome experience here. The wait time was decent, but you have to understand that it was walk in and I was able to be seen same day and I didn't mind the wait. He was professional, knowledgeable, and gave us more than enough information. Colby made a full recovery and we can't wait to see the doctor again!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life. I had to say goodbye to my best friend, loving little boy of 15 years. My Shih Tzu Gerorge. The staff at Allen Vet were truly amazing. One of officer managers Debbie E. was so kind and loving during this hard time. It made the experience so much easier seeing her familiar face. Positive experience: This is really a great clinic. We take both our poochens here. Only down side is one of the female vets that works here was scared of our dog. Now with that being said, we did inform her that he is a "biter" he was a rescue so obviously he's had past trauma and he doesn't trust people so much. We informed the vet about his "nipping" so she wasn't caught off guard by him.. I've never seen a vet so timid around a dog like this woman was. Our pooch is just a little fat guy, it's not like he was a massive dog. She barely examined him and she would hardly come close to him. She made the tech do everything.. now I understand no one wants to be bitten by a dog but I do feel as though a vet shouldn't be so timid to give a dog a much needed physical exam. I also will add that he was in fact muzzled so he couldn't bite. The vet made me place the muzzle on him, again that's ok I didn't mind... But again I feel like my boy didn't get a proper examination by her. The other vet (male) on the other hand was absolutely amazing with our poochens... He was so fantastic.. again like I said it's a fantastic place to take your pets but just make sure your pooch gets a proper exam and not skimped on because the vet is scared.

Fantastic experience: I took my feral barn cat there because he was injured pretty bad and we finally caught him. Instead of letting me sit there for hours to be seen and turned away because they couldn’t help. They took the time to actually make sure they would be able to help me. Unfortunately they couldn’t help but sent me somewhere that could! Thank you for taking time out of your day to not let me wait for hours.

Fantastic experience: Great prices for excellent care. I got my new dog spayed and some retained teeth removed. They are super friendly to me and my pet. Place is clean and easily accessible. They sent my dog home with some medication and gave really good instructions on after care. I think I may switch my other 2 dogs here permanently! Also, they take walk ins! And the bird behind the counter is cute ❤️

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Allen Veterinary Hospital. After having the same vet for 35 years, she retired. We were lost. We went to two different veterinary clinics, both were a disappointment. Then we went to Allen and met Dr. Rademaker, we found our place. He is a wonderful and very kind, professional veterinarian. And all the staff we have met are friendly and professional. We had to go back to Allen again one of our other dogs was ill. We seen Dr. Beck. She was compassionate, patient and informative. Loved them both, great veterinarians.

Now, I’m so grateful to continue that tradition with Dr. James and his incredible team. The entire staff is compassionate, professional, and truly dedicated to the well-being of every animal they see. Their kindness, expertise, and reasonable prices make them stand out, and I wouldn’t trust my pets with anyone else. If you're looking for a vet who genuinely cares, I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: Compassionate, thoughtful, funny, kind people at this vet practice. I took my kittens in for check ups and vaccines and the way the techs flooded into the exam room to fawn over my kitten Nimbus warmed my heart. I have also brought my older cat Pashka here for her tummy troubles and everyone was so nice and helpful. I think you get what you pay for in terms of value for your money and quality of care. They are well staffed, no one seems rushed or overbooked, and the wait times are more than reasonable, especially for a clinic that is primarily walk in based. The staff is knowledgeable and very gentle with the animals. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Very compassionate and caring. I have had my fur babies in for vaccinations, illness, and sad to say one crossed the rainbow bridge. I walked in to their clinic for the first time last August and havent looked back. All visits went as well as they could. I appreciate Dr. Robin Trammel. She is the best. I won't be going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Amazing Veterinarian! Our puppy got extremely sick and we were so worried about him! He was vomiting and pooping blood nonstop..The walk in service for this clinic was quite literally a life saver. We came in shortly after they opened and they were able to get us in promptly. Dr. R was extremely informative and let us know of all of the treatment options had, considering costs as well. This clinic is extremely affordable as well. I was expecting a much higher bill, but was surprised when it came back very reasonably priced. Our pup had some lab work done as well, and I was very pleased with how the veterinarian called me himself to inform me of the results and answer any further questions I had! Our baby is now feeling much better, I would take him back to Allen Vet in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: Have been faithfully going to this Vet clinic for over 30 years, taking 4 different dogs. Love the staff and care. They literally saved our current dogs life with their expert care and treatment.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank this vet enough for accepting my cat for a last minute appointment! I called numerous vets in the area for my cat to be seen for some tummy troubles. Every vet had an extremely early cut-off time or couldn’t get her in. I planned to take her to an emergency vet but decided to give this vet a call. I was originally told they only accept new clients on certain days but after hearing what was going on with my kitty I was put on a brief hold and informed they could see my cat that evening! So thankful to have come across this place and will now be making it our home vet ❤️

Fantastic experience: We just adore Dr R! He’s compassionate and listens and is knowledgeable on a lot of different species. He is all around the best vet in town per our opinion! And very reasonable! We take all of our pets to him and he and His staff are all so friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: My go-to place to take my pets. They have helped me make sure my pets are at their best, health wise. I've been coming to them for about 2 years, and they will continue to be my pets vet.

Negative experience: My wife tried to make an appointment for our puppy last Friday. They said they only accept new clients by walk-in on Tu-Thu 8-10 am & 2-4 pm. So I took hours off work today (Tuesday) and got there at 9 am. They said they would not be able to get me in. They need to adjust how they go about accepting new clients. Our time is valuable as well. I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one frustrated with this system. Aboite Animal Hospital is where we took our previous dog & they do a great job. I just thought we could find something a little closer to home since we live in Waynedale. I guess not.

Fantastic experience: My relative's cat took a turn for the worst and AVH not only got her in asap, but treated both the cat and my relative with so much love and respect. Made a sad situation much easier.

Fantastic experience: I did a walk-in with my Airedale, Scout, on Thursday. Front desk was so kind as were the nurses and doctor. Was given a few different options and were budget conscious for me. She is slowly getting better and I am relived to have such a great option on short notice. Thank you for taking care of Scout!

Negative experience: This was my first time going to Allen Veterinary Hospital. I brought my small dog in to be checked he wasn’t feeling well. He passed away three days later. I felt rushed the whole time I was there, after waiting for two hrs to be seen. I didn’t get enough answers to my pup’s condition. After calling serveral times the next day after he was seen I finally got a text from the DR to come in for an injection and more meds. I didn’t feel there was any compassion from anyone there just being rushed again when I had questions. After my dog passed I called 15 times and no answer and no call back. I had to make my own arrangements to have him cremated. I lost the best dog ever and I think his care should have been better from this office. It’s not pleasant experience being rushed when they have you pets life in there hands. I’m devasted by my families loss. Maybe they need more staff to accommodate the business of there office. And till this day they have never called me back or ever checked on my pup.

Fantastic experience: Allen Vet is the only place I trust my pets to go. The staff is great, helpful, understanding, and knowledgeable. Pricing is standard in my opinion. Dr James is top notch I would 100% trust him to treat my human child. But on the few occasions I have had Dr Beck she has been exceptional as well. They now offer appointments for established patients which makes them even more amazing and convenient! Hands down best choice for your pets care.

Negative experience: 5 hours is a ridiculous amount of time to wait to be seen. I like the service but I don’t think I’ll be going back due to how bad the wait is. Last time I waited 4 hours.

Negative experience: Question: Do vets take an oath to care for animals like doctors do for people??? Horrible money grabbing facility without caring for the animal. Seems as if they just need to pay for the new location. Did a surgery on my pet now it’s worse than before and infected. After the surgery said another $300 we can tell you what it is. That area is now swollen, bleeding, lump twice as big as original and INFECTED. New vet just doing bloodwork to tell us what it is. This place never offered just surgery at $600.00 we said no to the additional $300. Why remove something if you’re not going to find out what it is? Why not say $900 in the beginning. Horrible!!! Find another place if you care for your animal.

Fantastic experience: The staff and Dr were amazing, I had to make a hard decision and they were very helpful and compassionate! They walked me thru and stood by my side during the process! Thank you for the wonderful experience during one of the hardest decision I have made in a long time! Oliver crossed the rainbow bridge so peacefully and that will never be forgotten! Thank you, I gave it 5 stars but there is no amount of stars I could give for such a wonderful experience.

Fantastic experience: My guniea pig died at the vet, they later sent a sweet sorry card with alot of signatures. Also they were the fastest to see as all the others guinea pig vets made me wait at least a couple off days to even see them. Will go again.

Negative experience: I will be switching primary vets immediately. The negligence and carelessness of the people who work here is unbelievable. In seven days my dog went from a perfectly healthy happy dog to needing emergency surgery and nearly dying. I came in for an exam after my dog started puking and refusing food. Xray showed nothing. Prescribed him a nausea pill. His symptoms worsened rapidly. Vomiting, not eating, muscle tremors, drooling, lethargy. We came back in for an xray and blood test. Was told the blood test was fine and his xray showed gas. The next two days his condition deteriorated to him eating nothing, puking constantly, being so weak he couldn’t stand or walk. I tried to reach out and speak to the vet that treated him and was told by reception that I was not allowed to speak to the vet over the phone, the vet would not be leaving any messages, and I was not allowed to come in and speak to the vet. I even asked if I could book an exam just so I could come talk to the vet about his current condition and get his records, xrays, and test results so the emergency care center could have his medical history from this week and was told no. The xray that I was told was ‘gas’ was actually an obstruction in my dogs stomach that was cutting into his intestines. Upon taking him into urgent care less than 72 hours after his last visit at Allen, he was admitted into emergency surgery and I was told he would not have survived another day had I not brought him in when I did. I cannot understand why a dog brought into a veterinarian, that is in such horrible medical condition, was not offered any treatment beyond a nausea pill. The incompetence of this place nearly killed my dog.

Negative experience: I believe the staff were very nice and courteous as helpful as they could be but the 3 hour wait made it unbearable. Being patient and understanding but waiting from 830 to 1130 is a bit much wouldn't advise coming here unless you have unlimited time..if you do the service seems good but that's where it ends

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Allen Veterinary Hospital. I love the walk-in schedule, it has made it possible for me to get prompt care for my cat without having to wait weeks for an appointment. The staff is knowledgable, kind, and really care about your pet. I am so appreciative to everyone there who has worked with my cat and taken such good care of her. I will continue to make the drive here from out of town when my pets need a vet visit.

Fantastic experience: The staff was so kind and caring when I brought my little hedgehog in to be seen. Unfortunately, it was her time to go over the rainbow bridge. They were also very compassionate when I came to get her ashes recently. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they all were during an extremely difficult time for me.

Fantastic experience: Back in November, a kitten showed up on our porch, mauled. Long story short,after being seen by another vet, she got an infection in her skin. I remembered a coworker telling me about how she went to Allen Veterinary for multiple years. I decided to try the place out since my vet couldn’t see her for three weeks. From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing staff. I can’t remember for sure who was at the desk, but I remember Aubrey was. I think Cassidy as well. Megan and Doctor Helga Beck took care of her and got her fixed up. Fast forward to February 6th, I had to take her back in because she went blind and was having seizures. After examination, it was determined that she was likely succumbing to her injuries from November. The decision was made to humanely euthanize her. They let me take her home for a couple hours until 4, when Dr Trammel and Megan helped her cross her journey to the rainbow bridge. I just want to say thank you to Aubrey, Cassidy, Dr. Beck, and Dr. Trammel. And a special thanks to Megan and Cera these two helped me so much on such a hard day. You could not go somewhere that cares as much about your animal as you do. This is a lengthy story, but it was needed to show just how deep this staff cared and what a wonderful job they do. The odds were not in Belles favor, but I’m thankful she was in good hands.

Fantastic experience: Amazing Doctors. SUPER helpful & caring staff. Always worth the wait to know my dog's wellbeing will be properly addressed.

Positive experience: Vet was great, but didn’t give much time to talk at all. He shaved my dog a bit and cleaned out a spot and it took 3 minutes and they charged almost $40. They also use GLADE plug ins which is super unsafe for animals. Plugged right into the rooms & next to tables animals go on. Lastly, while waiting very unprofessional conversation going on & unwelcoming front desk. Not completely satisfied.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Rademaker was very knowledgeable and direct, which definitely instilled confidence that my guinea pig was getting the best practical care. All of the staff were kind and encouraging, and I barely had to wait even though I was a walk-in appointment. Would definitely return in the future!

Fantastic experience: 12_15_2023 I brought my cat his eyes had some glazing over his looking like he is going blind. But doctor said his eyes look good. Staff is very nice. . Definitely a good place to go.

Negative experience: We have used Allen county vet for years. They were great, since they moved they have went downhill. I will not use them again. I miss the old staff, they loved animals.

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog in for GI issues and the vet was very knowledgeable and honest. They gave him fluids and anti-nausea meds to calm his belly for a few days and my dog eventually passed a large piece of blanket! If it wasn't for the fluids and meds then I would have had to have surgery for blockage. I am very thankful that they took great care of my pup!

Fantastic experience: I just want to say that I love this place! I live 2 hours away and have 4 sugar gliders. Dr. Rademaker has treated all of them. He is very kind and the prices are extremely reasonable. I have been able to afford the care I have needed for my gliders where as other vets have quoted me outrageous prices. The office is kind and the people I encounter there are always so friendly. I definately recommend this place for all your animals expecially if you have sugar gliders. So thankful for Dr. Rademaker!

Fantastic experience: The new location is very nice. Office staff and assistant was nice and efficient. The vet seemed a little out of sorts with our dog. Our dog is small, 25 lbs, but the vet seemed hesitant and had difficulty drawing blood. Other vets at this location have been very attentive and affectionate with our dog. Will still continue to go there for services, maybe it was an off day for this particular vet

Fantastic experience: Best vet in Fort Wayne. Have been coming here nearly 20 years with multiple pets now. One of the only specialist in Fort Wayne who can and will treat Ferrets!

Fantastic experience: These people are wonderful, with compassionate thorough care. Two times now I have had to bring a cat in for an emergency appointment for an illness. They don't run expensive unnecessary tests, so it was less than $100 each time. Can't stress enough how valuable it has been to know this place is here.

Fantastic experience: Best vet in Town and very great prices they took great care of our pets and were also there to help us through the terrible experience of losing our pet. Now with new facility it is so nice and the staff is great. Prices pretty much the same so happy about that.

Positive experience: Helped my family euthanize an axolotl when nobody else in town was able to help. They are a bit on the pricey side especially for exotics. But everyone seemed very helpful and compassionate.

Fantastic experience: I would like so say thank you to the staff at Alan vet hospital. They were very nice and the new building is beautiful! We only had a short wait after we got there and they are very affordable. The doctor was very nice and she explained everything that was going on with my kitty. We had a great experience and we will definitely be going back in the future.

Fantastic experience: A few months ago Dr. Rademaker saved my cat’s life and we could not be more grateful. She sustained some pretty bad injuries to her abdomen after an altercation with a dog. After an extended stay and surgery at the emergency vet, we followed up with our regular vet (Allen Vet. Hospital) at the advice of the emergency vet following tube removal, to get a large scab removed that just wouldn’t seem to heal on her lower stomach. The emergency vet somehow did not notice that her bladder had torn/ruptured, and she would not heal because her urine was pooling in her abdomen! Dr. Rademaker was our saving grace and caught it. He advised us that although he is willing to try, it would be very difficult to find all of the tears in her bladder and repair them without missing any or having any of them not take to the repair. He even suggested that we start thinking about the possibility of having to euthanize, because her injuries were that substantial. We decided to at least try, and after a few scary weeks of hoping and running in for a check up every time something made us nervous, she really started to perk up and get back to her normal self. It has been almost 3 months since all of this, and she is completely back to herself! Eating, drinking, and using the litter box as if nothing ever happened. Her scars are almost impossible to find even if you know they are there, and all of her hair has grown back in the places she was shaved for surgery. We are so thankful for Dr. Rademaker and ALL of the amazing doctors and staff at Allen Veterinary Hospital, and we will continue to bring all of our fur babies here for as long as we have pets! I cannot recommend them enough for the support and care their team provided to us during this time. For those of you who care or are curious, we spent over $4000 at the emergency vet for them to do the initial surgery and to not even catch her ruptured bladder (we are at a loss for how they missed this, truly), and less than $500 in TOTAL, for the bladder repair surgery, 2 follow ups (including staple removal), and a bag of medicated bladder health cat food at Allen Vet. Fantastic experience: The staff is very knowledgeable and kind, they've always tried to make time for my outdoor cat, Brownie, who liked to get into "things" and come home sometimes with abscesses. They were quick to assess and treat him with the best possible therapy to put on us the best path for recovery. Love no appointment and office fees are pretty reasonable, highly recommend. Much Love! Fantastic experience: Today I really want to give a shout-out to the staff and service at Allen Vet Hospital. This is the second time I had to seek urgent treatment for my dog. I am amazed that I could not find a vet clinic that takes walk-ins. Thankfully the staff at New Haven Hospital was kind enough to tell me to try Allen Vet Hospital and I have no regrets. The facility was clean, the staff was really friendly, the service was great, and the bill was unexpectedly reasonable. In the last episode I had no choice but to go to the Emergency Hospital and that really dented my pocket after waiting for hours. It might have just been my lucky day but I had about a 15 min wait if so much at Allen today. I believe in giving credit where credit is due so today I applaud Allen Vet Hospital over on Mill Run Road.

Fantastic experience: I recommend this clinic to anyone that has a fur baby that needs medical attention! The doctors know what they are doing and the techs are very friendly! My girlfriend and her family have been taking family pets to ALLEN VET for years and don’t plan on switching anytime soon! It’s a walk in clinic so it is first come first serve, but I promise if you have to wait it will be worth it!

Fantastic experience: I had taken my Blue & Gold Macaw in , Hudson, when he became ill and he received excellent care. Well this time it was Icabod Crane. My Male Bobtail, he had a rash that I could not seem to get under control. One trip in and the Doctors took fantastic care of my Little Icabod! He has been like a new Kitten since he came home! Fantastic experience: My poor cat sustained an eye injury. I brought her here as our vet could not get her in. I cannot thank the Allen vet team enough for being able to get her in to be examined. Fantastic experience: Caring, compassionate, competent. These are the people to whom I trust my Service Dog's care! The new facility is very nice, so I wondered if there would be a significant increase in charges. Nope. Same great care. Same fantastic "bedside manner." Same obvious & genuine love of animals. Positive experience: I have gone to this vet for over 20 years and have always been very pleased with them however recently they dropped the ball. A couple of months ago I brought my dog in with a lump. They never did anything more than feel it. No ultrasound. Well I just had to put my best friend down because it was indeed a tumor on his spleen that spread to his liver and was very aggressive. I know there is nothing they could have done 2 months ago but it would have been nice to know my dog was very sick and prepare for his death.

Fantastic experience: Each one of these vets know exactly what they are doing! I have never been more impressed by Vet services as much as I am with this group. They are very caring and compassionate with a very good price to help with everything. I can tell they love your animal and want its best needs for it because their experience shows! KUDOS!!!!
