Fantastic experience: Dear Queen City Animal Hospital, I had to delete my old 5 star review (which I will post below this) to write this new one, but felt it necessary. Words alone cannot express my gratitude for the compassion and care you gave our family at the passing of our beloved dog. I know that not everyone is able to have their pet's final sleep occur in the comfort of their own bed, but to give my canine companion that gift was immeasurably valuable to me... and to him. You empowered me during the process by telling me what to expect and you were compassionate and thoughtful during the entire process. While it was absolutely gut wrenching to experience the loss, I could not have asked for a more peaceful and dignified way for my pet to depart. I thank you on behalf of my family and my departed pet for allowing us to say our goodbyes within the comfort of our own home. Thank you so very much to Dr. Diaz and CVT Stacey for the love and support. OLD REVIEW FROM 6 years ago: Queen City Animal Hospital was welcoming and exceptional as soon as I was in the parking lot. It’s obvious that great effort was put into trying to provide the least stressful experience possible for both humans and animals. They offer beers or coffee to clients while you wait in plush chairs and the exam rooms were just as inviting. The staff was EXCELLENT from the reception desk to the vet herself (Dr. Cline). It was quickly obvious how much they really love animals as they loved on my dog and made him feel comfortable before starting the exam. They were also patient with my many questions and never made me feel pressured to make any decisions, they made me feel empowered and informed that I had all the information I needed to make the right decision. I will for sure be going back and would highly recommend them to friends and family as it can be hard to find someone to trust as much as I do QCAH.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my cat Luna here for a few years now and the experience has been consistently excellent. I recently brought her in for a yearly check-up and the vet tech Jordyn was incredibly knowledgeable and handled Luna with the utmost care and love. Dr. Diaz then came in and showed the same level of care and professionalism during her portion of the exam. We will continue to bring all our animals to QCAH, can’t recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: This was first time at QCAH and it was far and beyond the best vet experience I’ve ever had. My cat is very skittish and their Fear-Free approach genuinely made a huge difference. Macy did an unbelievable job letting my cat Papaya warm up to the room, the exam, etc as well as walking myself through everything that was being done throughout my visit. Usually my cat is hiding in the corner by the end of a Vet visit, but here at QCAH she was sitting on my lap like it was another normal day.
Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about QCAH! Everyone there is so friendly and helpful and they treat my pets as their own! My dogs don’t dread going to the vet because they take such good care of them! With the pandemic and not being able to go inside with my dogs, I was nervous at first because I’m used to always being with them at visits but the staff is always so nice and the visits are quick so it makes the entire experience much easier! Would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Negative experience: I had a deeply concerning experience with Queen City Animal Hospital regarding my pet Macaw. This was supposed to be our first appointment here, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend this clinic to any bird owners. On the morning of the appointment, I received a call asking me to come in early because they intended to sedate my bird for routine blood work. I was immediately alarmed; my Macaw has had blood work done regularly for three years and has never required sedation. When I questioned their experience with exotics, I was told someone would call me back. During the follow-up call, the staff member stated they "normally" sedate birds to keep them comfortable. It is a major red flag to suggest sedation for a routine procedure without first performing a physical assessment or initial blood work to ensure the animal can safely handle it. I immediately canceled the appointment. For a clinic that claims to be Fear-Free, suggesting unnecessary sedation for a routine visit felt unsafe and unprofessional. Bird owners, please be cautious and look elsewhere for experienced avian care.
Thank you for expressing your concerns. As a Fear Free Certified Hospital, we do everything we can to ensure that our patients remain happy, healthy, and stress-free during visits. Sometimes that includes sedation; many times, it's unnecessary. (I've included a link below from Fear Free Happy Homes). Our doctors have significant experience treating avian patients and find that, at times, sedation can be helpful. Each and every patient is assessed during their visit, and if we feel that they are experiencing higher levels of fear, anxiety, or stress, we have a conversation about our recommendations to keep them comfortable. The decision to sedate a patient is always made after a discussion between the pet owner and the veterinarian.
We certainly apologize for any miscommunication that would lead you to feel that sedation would be an immediate requirement. This is not the case for any of our patients, birds included. We hope that you find the care that best fits your needs, and wish you nothing but the best.

Negative experience: I brought my 4-year-old Olde English Sheepdog to QC Vets for a dental cleaning under anesthesia, during which a gum biopsy was taken. I was initially told my dog would go home with medication, but at pickup I was told three times—even after asking—that no medication was needed. The next morning, the clinic called both my husband and me asking how my dog was doing on his medication. We explained we were told none was needed, which clearly indicated a serious communication failure. I was then told the medication would be ready immediately, but after driving to the clinic, I waited again while it was prepared. I was given conflicting information about what the medication was for, and while the manager did apologize, it only happened after I asked to speak with someone and nothing tangible was offered to address the mistake. I spent over $1,000 on this procedure, and the lack of communication and follow-through was unacceptable.

You should have been sent home with the prescribed medication at the time of pickup, and we understand how frustrating it was to receive conflicting information and then have to make an additional trip to the clinic. This fell short of the standard of care we strive to provide, and we've addressed this with our team to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Fantastic experience: Queen City Animal Hospital is the BEST. They take incredible care of my fur baby, Kobe, and somehow also manage to keep me calm and educated at the same time. Our vet, Lauren Cline, is truly amazing, she treats Kobe like her own and explains everything in a way that’s helpful, honest, and never judgmental. She’s been there for all of our moments… from full-on panic (like when my lab ate my toddler’s grapes and I thought my life was ending) to gentle reminders that yes, obesity is also a thing for our fur babies and yes, it matters. She’s even taught me how to be a better fish mom and shared tips to keep my toddler’s pets alive, which feels like above-and-beyond vet care Kobe actually likes going to the vet thanks to the treats, love, and attention he gets. Could not recommend Queen City Animal Hospital more -10/10, would trust them with all my pets and my sanity
Negative experience: I took my cat Mimi here awhile back and had a terrible experience. The employees who worked here were absolutely miserable and didn't show a drop of care towards me or my cat. They told me they could fit me in during a specific time but proceeded to make me wait an hour after my appointment because it was "a work in" (not communicated to me and the appointment was not scheduled same-day). Waiting so long made my cat so nervous that she was panting. Because of the atrociously long wait, she was so anxious she was running around and hissing when the vets came in. I've NEVER seen her do this. They seemed annoyed at her and it made me cry. This caused her tail injury to get significantly worse and I took her to Armstrong Animal Clinic. I'm only writing this review because I wound up returning to Armstrong recently and had flashbacks to how terrible this place was. The employees were so cold and the management seemed to treat their employees terribly. The whole vibe reeked of, "I don't want to be here, I hate working here, I'm just here for a paycheck." With the exception of the one person who checked me out who genuinely seemed to have a heart. However, the women who worked here were genuinely evil. Especially the manager with the shorter hair.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience at Queen City Animal Hospital. I took my dog Nova, who is extremely anxious, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better visit. Everyone was so patient and kind, and they had plenty of treats and distractions to help keep her as comfortable as possible. They never rushed us and were very understanding about Nova’s limits. We even decided together to hold off on certain things so she wouldn’t get overwhelmed, which I really appreciated. It meant a lot to feel like they truly cared about her well-being and not just getting everything done in one visit. They also spent A LOT of time listening to my concerns, especially around her anxiety, and talked through not only the medical side but also things I can work on at home. They gave helpful suggestions on supplements, activities, and even followed up with additional resources and trainer recommendations to help build her confidence. You can tell this is a team that genuinely cares about both pets and their owners! I’m very grateful for the care we received and feel so good about continuing Nova’s care here.
Fantastic experience: My wife and I chose QCAH based on their reviews and we were not disappointed. My dog is high-maintenance at the vet and everyone was super accommodating and professional. Definitely the best vet I've used.
Negative experience: I brought my dog Sterling to Queen City Animal Hospital for vaccines. While there, he was clearly in pain — licking and chewing his back paw, struggling to walk, and having repeated accidents in the house. I was told he could not be seen by a veterinarian because my appointment was “just for vaccines.” The next day his paw worsened, and while boarding, Pet Paradise took him to Parker Veterinary Hospital, where they diagnosed a bite wound and immediately started treatment. He’s now recovering well. Queen City refused to even look at him when he was suffering. Their focus seemed to be rigid policies and upselling add-ons — not compassionate care. I’ve since moved Sterling’s care to Parker, where he was treated with urgency and kindness. Pet parents: think twice before trusting Queen City Animal Hospital with your animals.

To address your concerns, we’d like to provide some clarity about Sterling’s recent visit and the care recommendations discussed. During the vaccine appointment when you expressed concerns regarding Sterling licking his paws and continued housetraining issues, our team discussed scheduling a visit with one of our veterinarians was recommended to address his symptoms. As it didn't seem that Sterling was in any immanent danger and there were other urgent cases being seen at that time by our doctors, we advised scheduling a visit as soon as possible the following day. Unfortunately, as you were heading out of town, that visit was not scheduled.
We do make every effort to address concerns that may arise as soon as possible, but occasionally we may have to schedule for the following day if the patient is otherwise stable. We do also include in our appointment reminders that visits such as yours are with a veterinary assistant, not a doctor, and we encourage clients to contact us ahead of time when possible if their pet may need to be seen by a veterinarian during their visit.
I am very sorry we were not able to meet your needs and have Sterling seen by a veterinarian while you were here, but we are thankful that our colleagues at Parker Animal Hospital were able to provide Sterling with the care he needed. We wish you both all the best.

Fantastic experience: Even though my partner and I only take our cat, dog, and leopard gecko here about once a year for checkups, the doctors know our pets by name and are always so friendly and thorough! They've been able to answer any question we have had. Finding a vet that sees reptiles is hard enough as it is so it's great to have a practice nearby that does such a great job! They have a gorgeous bearded dragon in their lobby who is obviously well-taken care of and thriving. All of the staff know their stuff and seem happy to be there whenever we visit. For as long as we stay in Charlotte, this will be our vet!

Fantastic experience: Such a great vets office!!! Every staff member was so nice and treated my cat so kindly and gently. Everyone explained all the test/exams results thoroughly, in a way I could understand, and were patient and helpful with any questions. Negative experience: We always had the feeling we were being charged for unnecessary procedures. They wouldn’t fill our pets prescriptions (that they had for years) without running very expensive lab work. In fact, they tried to run expensive lab work, scans, etc every time we came in for any reason. I think this veterinary practice is dishonest. I would do some research on price gouging in the modern veterinary industry - if they’re trying to push additional lab work, procedures, every time you come in — you should know that’s not standard and often not necessary.

Per North Carolina law, we are required to have a valid veterinary-client-patient relationship, which includes a physical exam within the past year, in order to prescribe or refill medications. In addition, some medications do require periodic lab work to ensure they are still safe and effective for your pet. These protocols are not intended to be barriers, but rather to protect your pet’s well-being and ensure we are treating them as safely and responsibly as possible.

Fantastic experience: My 4 year old River Cooter Turtle was in distress. I called 2 hospitals, and they didn't have an exotic vet. The third call was a charm with Queen City. The receptionist was polite and got us an appointment within 2 hours. The Vet and the staff were great. The turtle and I left feeling better and confident. They even followed up with us the next day. Fantastic experience: I had a truly great experience at this clinic. My dog is a recent rescue and still struggles with anxiety around other dogs and unfamiliar environments, so I was understandably nervous about bringing him in. However, from the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and everything was prepared and ready for us. My dog has had a difficult past, having been through multiple homes and several different veterinarians. As a result, his medical history is extensive and a bit scattered, with records from various sources. Dr. Schuljak and Kaden took the time to thoroughly review every detail to ensure he was up to date on all necessary care. I really appreciated the time and attention they gave us. Communication was clear and consistent throughout the visit, and thanks to the kind and attentive staff, my dog remained calm—and even a bit excited—which is rare for him. Pricing for the services provided was very reasonable, and at no point did I feel pressured into anything unnecessary. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the care we received. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for compassionate, professional veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: I bring my three guinea pigs here and my experience has been amazing each and every time. From the moment I walk in, the staff is kind and accommodating. Every single medical professional who has examined my guinea pigs have been incredibly knowledgeable and full of helpful information. My questions always go answered! I walk out of their office feeling great about the care my babies received and it just makes me feel like a more capable guinea pig owner. Fantastic experience: This tiny Diva was UNimpressed by her human waking her at 0900 for her very 1st Vet visit. Her preferred sleeping hours are 0600- 2200, ANY bother prior to 2200 is unacceptable and subject to protest. Dr Schuljak and his assistant were absolutely AMAZING with wrangling this tiny DRAMATIC Diva. She doesn't nip or bite, she is too much of a Diva to resort to that. She flails like a poorly behaved toddler. Her protests included the typical hamster Diva antics. Let's pop out our eyeballs in an attempt to scare humans, and we definitely need squirm as much as humanly possible. She is easily held at home after 2300, which is absolutely the most Diva part about this. It is absurd, actually. Finding a vet familiar with "pocket pets" and exotics is difficult, but I found it here! This is a comfortable practice with super nice employees.

Fantastic experience: We've been coming here for 4+ years now. Great vet care, friendly and helpful staff. The team is responsive at all times. They have a dedicated cat room which helps for our anxious cat.

Fantastic experience: I can't express the eternal gratitude I have for Dr. Diaz and the staff at Queen City. I've been going to them for a few years since I moved here and the empathy and professionalism cannot be matched. Unfortunately, over the past 8 months, my fur baby got really sick and Dr. Diaz and their team were just phenomenal. They always got back to me right away, were able to squeeze me in for urgent care appointments, followed up just to see how Marshmellow was doing and just so responsive and caring. I never felt like a burden with how many times I called. It is with a really heavy heart that I had to put down my soul pup yesterday after a long fight and I can't speak highly enough of how Dr. Diaz went above and beyond to get me in right away, explain the process so thoroughly, and comforted me during her last breath. Her and the supporting staff and front desk made sure everything was in place and that I had the support from them and their team. Marshmellow felt the same way, as she was wagging her tail until the very end. She loved you guys. Thank you again, Queen City team from the bottom of my heart for making one of the saddest days of my life as comforting and smooth as possible. Hugs to you all!

Fantastic experience: I called Queen City a few days before I moved to Charlotte from out of state with my dog. I had a concern on my roadtrip and they squeezed an appointment in as a new patient the day after I moved in. Everyone that interacted with my dog was really great.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Hreiz, Dr.Schuljak, and the entire Queen City staff were amazing. My bunny had life-threatening GI stasis, and they were calm, patient, and understanding with me from beginning to end. Thanks to their care, they were able to save his life. I first had the pleasure of meeting Dr.Schuljak, who was able to take my bunny in on an emergency basis at a moment’s notice. I had called multiple places, and Queen City was one of the only ones willing to help. After my bunny slowly recovered, I became worried again when he showed signs of lethargy. I was able to bring him back the next day to see Dr. Jay Hreiz. Once again, I was helped at a moment’s notice, and the Queen City team was great. I received a clear price breakdown and was informed about what treatments were most important. Although my bunny had a severe case of GI stasis, the two doctors, the vet techs, and the entire Queen City team worked together to save my pet, Clover. He has now made a full recovery.

Fantastic experience: I can't praise this veterinary clinic enough! They deserve 10 stars easily. Bringing a cat to the vet is no easy task for most people. My 7 year old boy cat had a terrible time at a different animal hospital 2 days before we brought him to QCAH, and our visit to follow up was such a breath of fresh air. They had an exam room waiting for us, I let my boy champ out of his crate to look around. The facility is VERY clean and welcoming. They offered us drinks while we waited. Champ got to inspect the room and loosen up a bit. The nurse came in an introduced herself too him and gave him some head scratches to gain his trust while getting more information on him. She even gave him some snacks! The staff was incredibly caring and patient. They had to draw blood which went as smooth as it could have. Dr. Schuljack was very thorough in his exam and explaining what could be going on with my bestfriend. He is incredibly cheerful and just a nice person, well educated man that cares about animals. If you stress bringing your little friends to the vet, I couldn't recommend this veterinary hospital anymore than I do now. Champ is so lucky to have access to health care that this place offers. I also love how on the invoice, one item is "fear free care by certified fear free staff" which is listed as $0. They really made such a stressful visit go as smooth as can be.

Fantastic experience: The vets here were recommended to me by a fellow dog mom, and I was definitely impressed by our first visit. Our adopted rescue pup is anxious and reactive sometimes, but we were able to go straight into our own waiting room where the exams were done. Fantastic experience: I had an emergency with my pet bird and couldn’t find anyone in CLT that would see her. The office at QC fit me in as soon as they could and Dr. Schuljak took great care of her. Fantastic experience: As a pet loving Charlotte native, I’ve been to many vet clinics over the years. This is the ONLY primary practice that I’ve genuinely thought very highly of. My cat appreciates the distinct room for cats and the calm energy of the staff. She can get really anxious in general and has been so calm and sweet there. It’s as close to being “at home” as it can be. For me, I’ve found all the vets to be very knowledgeable and deliver news in a calm and considerate way. The staff is so warm and incredible, pricing is fair and wait times are quick.

Fantastic experience: We genuinely cannot recommend Queen City enough as a vet. They are always accommodating with all of our pets and do a FANTASTIC job treating them. •DOG- we have a very reactive dog (not aggressive ) and they ensure that he has plenty of treats to distract, a room with no windows, and even ensure the waiting room is clear of other dogs before he comes in to help him have a better experience! They have also offered medications to help calm him down when he comes. They are FANTASTIC with him and work at his pace to make sure he’s comfortable while we’re there •CAT- we have two cats- one elderly (13) and one who is younger (4). The younger one was diagnosed with FIP about two years ago and they led us in the right direction to get him treatment and honestly save his life. If it were not for Queen City animal hospital taking him in on such short notice he likely would not have lived through the month. They worked with us his entire treatment (over a year) tracking his blood work and physical state to ensure the medications were working. He is now happy and healthy and over a year in remission! Our elderly cat is much more shy but is always content when we bring her in. They offer a senior cat package we opt for that has a little bit more blood analysis to ensure she is in good health. We have never had a single complaint about them. The staff is not only great at their job(s) but also incredibly friendly. You can tell they all love what they do. We also enjoy that the environment doesn’t feel as ‘sterile’ as a typical vet and feels more like coming into a hotel waiting room. The only caveat of the practice is it is more on the pricey side but given all our animals have been through and how great the team at QCAH has been we are more than willing to pay the premium to ensure our babies health and comfort!!

Fantastic experience: I just moved to CLT and needed a new vet for my (very anxious and has had horrible vet experiences) dog. I was recommended Queen City Animal Hospital by multiple people because they’re a fear-free facility that works with your animal to have a positive vet experience, and this was 10000% the case! My first visit ended up just being a “happy visit” to make my dog feel more comfortable in this new environment and they rescheduled me for the following week at no charge. Staff were very friendly, understood my dog’s needs, and didn’t push him past his limit. The facility is also very well-kept and has couches and blankets in each exam room to make your animal feel more comfortable! Very highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I just took my golden here for his yearly and we recently moved to clt so i was nervous finding a vet we love! Barley gets pretty scared at the vet and hates shots but when I tell you i think he wanted to stay longer I am not kidding!! This is the best experience I have ever had with a vet and we will be staying with them!! they are so gentle and understanding that it was a breeze!

Fantastic experience: I recently switched to Queen City Animal Hospital after several years of subpar care at another clinic, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by their LGBT-friendly environment and their exceptional care for my large breed Great Danes. Unlike previous vets, who labeled one of my Danes as aggressive, the team at Queen City embraced him with open arms. Their fear-free approach has transformed our visits into pleasant and thorough experiences, significantly reducing stress for both my pets and me. The staff is incredibly pleasant, easy to talk to, and genuinely cares about their patients. Their pricing is extremely reasonable, especially considering the high quality of care provided. Fantastic experience: I recently visited Queen City for the first time and was thoroughly impressed with the level of care and professionalism provided. From the moment I walked in, the reception staff and nurses made me and little Zoey feel welcome and comfortable. The clinic itself is clean, modern, and well-equipped, which immediately put me at ease. The veterinarian we saw, Dr. Diaz was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain every aspect of my pet's health in detail. They stay up-to-date with the latest advancements. I also appreciated the follow-up call a few days after our visit to check on how my pet was doing. Negative experience: I acquired a senior dog after my father died on Christmas Eve. I immediately brought him in for a well check as soon as I was back in town after getting him, and they wouldn’t touch him without giving him a rabies vaccine because I couldn’t get a hold of his old vet because they were closed for the holiday. Super inconvenient time to die, I know. Absolutely no wiggle room for that. I understand policies being in place for a reason, but sometimes you just READ THE ROOM and help the old dog with the new owner trying to do the right thing. Anyway, we have been trying to save up enough for him to have the ultrasound they said he needed but kept falling short (one of our other dogs got sick so we were responsible and brought her in for a check up, then our other dog was due for his annual and I didn’t want to be refused treatment down the line because something wasn’t current so that slowed things down financially) but finally it was Buddy’s turn and we scheduled his ultrasound to the tune of $600. It was inconclusive but a biopsy on some nodules they found was suggested, so again, trying to do the right thing, and trying to be thorough, I agreed to this procedure. The dog’s main issue is his weight (he’s skinny) and no one even weighed him when he was there for his ultrasound so we don’t know if that’s improved or not. But I took him for his biopsy anyway. They sent me consent forms 2 hours after he’d been dropped off that I missed because I was tied up, and got snarky with me on the phone because they were sent at 10:45 (it was after noon when I saw it). And I’m just dumbfounded why they wouldn’t have handled that at drop off, instead of making it my problem hours after the fact. Here’s where they’ve lost me, finally. In the consent form it says that if the sedation causes my dog to go into cardiac arrest, that they can perform CPR but it’ll cost me $200 and up (so unknown, potentially endless cost). And you have to choose between DNR (Do Not Resuscitate….let him die) or CPR. CPR at a completely unknown price. Should the unthinkable happen, I have to choose between them doing the right thing for a cost I don’t know if I can afford, or let him die. I am not an idiot and I understand that vet care has costs (as Dr. Diaz explained to me in her most condescending tone) and I have paid my fair share of them and will continue to do so. But the way this office will ensure that if you’re not overflowing with wealth, then you cannot provide your pet with everything they might need is astounding. They also note on the consent form that while the pet is sedated and you’d like anything extra done, you can have their nails trimmed for $27. Let that sink in. Your pet is asleep and cannot move, and a few little effortless snips of a toenail is going to cost you another $27. Ah yes, patient care, the top priority. I used to work for a vet and I’ve seen him try to save many lives, sometimes successfully and sometimes not, and he never itemized it afterward. They got a bill for what was discussed but doing the right thing was always free. Also, as techs, we just trimmed dogs nails if they were under because it was easy and a nice thing to do. Got their eye boogers out, got rid of a mat in the fur, whatever. It wasn’t a thing. Dr. Diaz also tried to tell me we had discussed this, but we had not. She told me that the procedure might make him bleed a lot so if that happened they’d have to keep him around for monitoring, but never once said if he started to lose his life, it was going to cost me. The lack of morality in having an owner choose that sort of thing is something I cannot support and will no longer do business with people who think that’s a solid practice. But heck, at least y'all have stellar social media presence and booze in the waiting room. Pet owners really love when that’s what’s prioritized. The important stuff. Ms. Woody- we are truly sorry for the disappointment felt during your visits to our hospital and any shortcomings on our part. We hope that we can clarify some of your concerns in this response.
Veterinarians are required by state law to ensure that any dog, cat, or ferret that visits our hospital is up to date on their rabies vaccination. Failing to vaccinate can lead to human health hazards, as well as disciplinary actions from the state of NC. As such, we reserve the right to decline treatment if no proof of vaccination can be provided, or if a rabies vaccination is declined.
As is the case with all businesses, we must charge for all services provided. I believe you will find that most hospitals, human and veterinary, will charge for CPR if needed. This is due to the number of people, drugs, and supplies that are used during such an emergency. Obviously, we work hard to avoid such an outcome, as all sedated procedures receive the safest individualized anesthetic protocols, and are constantly monitored with human grade equipment by trained Registered Veterinary Technicians. We all know that anesthesia has risks but we do everything we can to mitigate that risk. All of us are in this field to help animals live long and happy lives, and sometimes anesthesia is a part of that. Our goal is to make those procedures as safe as possible, so that life saving measures are few and far between.
We also understand that veterinary care can be expensive and we try our best to work within our client’s budgets and even offer multiple no or low interest payment plans for all services. Providing a high level of individualized care to our patients has been our first priority since we opened our doors in 2019, and although we aren’t perfect, we will continue striving to provide that level of care moving forward.
We understand the stress that comes from having a sick pet and the heartache from losing a family member. Many of us have experienced both and truly empathize with you, but even in cases of stress, we must request that all interactions between our clients and our staff remain respectful. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, so parting ways is likely for the best. It is our hope that you will find a veterinarian that better fits your needs and wish you nothing but healing and happiness in the future.
Fantastic experience: Queen City Animal Hospital is an amazing vet! I have been taking my dogs there for the past 2 years. They are very thorough and really take the time to listen to my concerns and address all issues during the appointment. The staff recognize my pups and they always fit us in when an emergency visit is needed. Highly recommend QCAH!

Fantastic experience: Everyone and everything at Queen City Animal Hospital is top notch. They go above and beyond for my anxious senior dog with lick mats, patience, and respecting his quirks. The staff is so flexible to ensure my dog is comfortable at every moment. Dr. Diaz ensures we understand everything and allows time to make decisions. Fantastic experience: I first went to Queen City because my dog had a mass on his side. It ended up needing removed and was cancerous. I thought the cost of surgery given how large and invasive it was, was reasonable. He had a HUGE incision and it healed beautifully! I continue to take him because the care from the front desk staff, the techs and Dr. Diaz has been amazing. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Brought my vet nervous dog Cleo here and everyone was so great working with her! She was not in the mood for an exam at our first visit and everyone was understanding and instead took the time to introduce her to the staff, let her explore the office and get lots of treats to make it a positive experience. While we didn’t even get to have an actual visit the staff and Dr. Black spent nearly 40 minutes with us. We have a follow up scheduled with happy drugs, looking forward to seeing her progress with her vet anxiety!

Fantastic experience: My pup is absolutely terrified of the vet office, but the staff here are all so kind despite the extremely high levels of anxiety my dog exhibits. Mel was extremely helpful and took ample time to answer all of my questions and concerns prior to even booking an appointment. I was given options that allowed back up plans to be incorporated and pricing is extremely transparent and fair as well. Everyone I encountered immediately made me feel comfortable having my dog in their hands. Happy to have found Buzz a place where I know he is safe and will be taken care of! (Buzz is thankful, too! I promise!)

Fantastic experience: The vet went above to make sure my dog was comfortable throughout the whole exam. She gave her treats and lots of cuddles to calm my dog who had a little bit of anxiety. The staff was so friendly and offered refreshments and your own room to be with your dog the whole time. Will be coming back here for sure. Fantastic experience: We adopted two kittens. We chose to return to Queen City Animal Hospital as Dr Jay Hreiz is terrific. He knows what he is doing and he cares. The staff is also wonderful. I am 72 years old and used alot of vets in NYC and Wilmington, NC. Queen City is the best!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend QCAH and we'll be patients for life! The whole staff is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. A special thank you to our doctor, Dr Black, for taking such remarkable care of our boys. She is attentive, extremely capable and knowledgeable, kind, and gentle. We love that QCAH is certified Fear Free and our boys even enjoy their visits to the vet now! Their rooms are cozy and private and they always provide suitable treats, even hydrolyzed protein treats for my dog with severe allergies. I can't recommend QCAH enough if you have a pet (even exotic animal). Thanks to the whole staff for providing comprehensive care and even emergency care when I've needed it!

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience at our first vet visit with QCAH. Everyone was really nice and the place was inviting. We were able to take care of all paperwork and payment inside the exam room. Dr.Cline was great and answered all my questions. She also sent helpful info to my email for raising a puppy.

Fantastic experience: Amazing! They took great care of my guinea pig and handled her with great care. She didn't squeal or seem extremely frightened. The vets were very understanding and the information delivered was clear. Please consider this practice if you have guinea pigs!!!

Fantastic experience: So incredibly grateful to have found the fantastic fear free practice at Queen City Animal Hospital after moving to Charlotte! If your pet needs a little extra grace and assurance at the vet, this is THE place in Charlotte for your pet family! Our senior small dog has isolation and confinement distress, and is nervous of his face and feet touched/prodded due to health-issue related pain from his previous life before we adopted him. We could not be more impressed with the care and dedication the QCAH team had to making our dog as comfortable as possible for his first semi-annual exam. What a relief to find a new vet team like this after moving cross country! It started with a follow up to suggest we give him a little extra time to settle in after scheduling his first appointment online toward the end of the day. (Scheduling was also easy.) I felt fully informed and listened to from the pre-appointment call and through his whole appointment. At his appointment, the techs were incredible with him, and we’re impressed with Dr. Cline’s expertise and ability to get our Shih Tzu through the rest of the stressful vetting without incident and without any signs of regression post-appointment. That is the ultimate benefit and proof in the pudding of fear-free practices, and shows the quality ethos of the professionals at Queen City Animal Hospital. The appointment room and entire practice has a homey comfortable environment that even settled my own human anxiety. He wasn’t hesitant at all at his follow up appointment- a great sign and testament to their inclusive approach to care. They also vet cats and other small animals like reptiles, they even have ones that live there! I highly recommend this vet, and I am confident we are in perfect hands at QCAH through our lil guy’s golden years.

Fantastic experience: Queen City Animal Hospital is the very best. I bring all of my animals here, * 2 kitties, a bunny, and chameleon*, and every time we come it is nothing but a positive experience. The Vets, staff, and Vet techs are all so nice and friendly and they genuinely care about my pets and making sure I understand what their treatment plans are. I really couldn't praise this office more with how they run their practice. Also to note that they are extremely affordable especially for the exotic pets and their state of the art technology that they are using, i.e. laser therapy, etc. Specifically, Jordyn, one of the vet techs, is always so friendly and sweet to my pets and I really appreciate her for that. I will always recommend Queen City to all of my friends and colleagues for all of their veterinarian needs.

Fantastic experience: We recently moved to the area and both our dogs needed care, after some research Queen City was one of my top two choices. They were quick to schedule us, winning their place as our new vet and we were not disapointed. Queen City was excellent! Great parking, calm atmosphere, clean facility and highly educated providers! We saw two of their vets and both were awesome! Plus, once you're a patient you schedule appointments online which is a huge plus!

Fantastic experience: This is the best vet in NoDa and Charlotte! Dr. Black is truly the most thoughtful and kindest vet we have ever taken our dogs too. She is so thorough and detailed and truly treats your dog like her own! The entire staff is always friendly and attentive; we have never once had a bad experience here. Fantastic experience: First time taking my 2 year old Goldendoodle Ollie after our big move to Charlotte. The staff was great with him, and I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Diaz. We’ve been taking our two dogs for around two years, every staff member is so helpful, welcoming and seem to sincerely care for our pups.
