Our comment from InfoVet about Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic:

Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic is a highly regarded veterinary service in the Charlotte area, known for their compassionate staff and affordable pricing. Many clients appreciate the generous care they provide, from routine check-ups to more intensive treatments. Customers frequently mention the friendliness of the staff and their ability to handle pets with care, often making visits enjoyable and stress-free.

Notably, this clinic also supports low-income families by offering financial aid options and payment plans, which many appreciate during challenging times. The welcoming environment, indicated by thoughtful touches such as writing pet names on a chalkboard, adds to the positive experience for pets and their owners alike.

However, some clients have raised concerns regarding appointment availability and communication issues, reporting difficulties in scheduling visits, which can sometimes create frustration. Additionally, while the majority of clients praise the quality of care, a few have expressed dissatisfaction with specific instances of customer service. It is recommended to contact the clinic early for appointment scheduling, as they can fill up quickly due to high demand.

Overall, Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic is recognized as a dedicated and caring facility that prioritizes the health and well-being of pets, contributing greatly to the community.

Positive experience: I was able to snag an appointment to get my cat spayed. On the day of the appointment, I was running a bit behind so I tried calling the office to let them know. No one answered the phone despite me calling multiple times. After my cat was done with her appointment, I picked her up and noticed that they forgot her additional medicine. They sent me a text message saying that I could pick up the medicine by 5:00pm. I left work early to get the medicine and was able to make it around 4:50pm, but when I pulled up the office was closed. Overall, I’m happy I was able to get my cat spayed but these communication issues definitely had me feeling more anxious and frustrated.

Negative experience: Literally can’t get an appointment there for months at a time, I finally scored an appointment for my dogs UTI, “which they say is not that big of a deal”, Why don’t you tell my dog that who’s whining every time she pees? No, after it took me two weeks to get this appointment, they’ve canceled it with no other option. This place is really going downhill fast. And nobody seems to give a flying shit. After taking three days off, because this appointment has been rescheduled three times now… It’s time to have some answers

Matthew Dentremont Posted on Google 2 months ago

Negative experience: We paid for the kitten packages which covers our kittens to get spayed. Our cats are coming up on a year now and for the past 3 months we’ve been trying to get an appointment and they won’t work with us or schedule one. They said we don’t take priority.

Fantastic experience: I had an unfortunate time in my life here in NC due to financial hardship and my animals and myself were treated with utmost respect. Stands for Animals always made sure that my animals had food and excelent care. In fact I'm applying for a job here to give back for there kindness.

Fantastic experience: Took my dog there to get neutered. Everything went well and the staff was excellent. They responded to any concerns I had about my dog's recovery. Thank you to the doctors and staff for wonderful services.

Negative experience: My pets have been patients here since 2017. Today I took my cat, who’s been a patient of 8 years, here for her routine checkup and vaccination updates. I called around 2:30 pm to ask if her persistent itching after the vaccines were normal, but had to leave a voicemail. The voicemail stated they get back to you within an hour for urgent matters and 24 hours for non-urgent. A possible reaction to vaccines is urgent. In the hour after that voicemail, I went to a vet nearby who told me to come right away and gave her medications and fluids. They also found it interesting she was given a 3 year vaccine, as apparently that has to be timed correctly for the animal. I already wasn’t happy with them today. They made me wait for 30 mins for her appointment, advised she needed hairball control medication for her inflamed intestines, and not a soul who worked there smiled the entire time I was there (except a male vet tech who I didn’t have for my appointment - he seemed excellent with the pets and pet parents though). As a customer for the last 10 years, it saddens me to say that I think I’ll be seeking a new regular vet.

Negative experience: They should review the notes on appointments before accepting them instead of turning down people once they show up in their office. Also, they need to improve their website so that one can understand what each appointment is for. It is very confusing. Also, the person at the reception is extremely rude.

Fantastic experience: Love this vet office. I have small dogs.

Fantastic experience: Very nice and reasonable pricing! The only place I take my doggie

Oliver Casey Posted on Google 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Brought my cat in for a check up before work and they were able to get her in and out without much of a wait and at a very affordable price.

Becky Plemmons Posted on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: I have been waiting 5 months for an appointment for my year old cat and not only do they only allow scheduling for appointments the first of the month but when u try to schedule they are all full! How can this be? Well they have “Priority Listing” for smaller animals, this is insane and not only do I not want to take my other animals but they are no longer “affordable”. I am truly upset if not I would not be making this review. Not only does the pricing not match what they are saying that they are being sought after but their packages are truly not even packages. Please check your other clinics before coming here, I have rescues that I bring to get spayed and get shots and no longer will I bring my service here. I truly wanted to support the message but I will not be waiting 6 MONTHS FOR a single appointment, no “affordable” clinic would make me wait! SMH, and customer service is great! Don’t get me wrong but they have promised putting my number down for cancelations and I have emailed both and nothing!! There isn’t much help they can give if the appointments are being prioritized to smaller animals so that they can PROFIT more!!! So wrong!!! This company started with wanting to help ALL ANIMALS not just profit off of the services of SMALLER ANIMALS IN NEED!

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is amazing! I have 3 animals and they are amazing with each one, including my vet reactive dog. Whether it’s annual check ups, a quick vaccine appointment , or an urgent sick visit, this place is there and willing to help. Thankfully they do have a financial aid and offer payment plans plus their low costs, this is a huge difference between other clinics. Prices aside, quality care is above and beyond. They have been respectful of my medical alert service dog and making sure that he is not far from me during visits for long (no more than 5 mins). Also the first vet to EVER be able to assess my vet reactive dog’s teeth and was patient in our “process” of muzzle, treats, and little breaks. This makes a huge difference each time we come as she gets more and more excited, less and less scared. Overall 10/10 for quality care, affordable prices, proper education and clear communication towards client, love for their patients, and the compassion towards everyone.

Fantastic experience: I adopted a kitten from Animal Control 11/6/25. Her foster mom Rene was absolutely awesome and delivered a healthy, active little girl I named Daisy. However, she stopped eating, stopped using litterbox, became lathargic and sneezing. I being the concerned fur baby mom went into frantic mode. I made calls to animal control only to be transferred to 311, to no avail, NO RETURN CALLS, NO SUPPORT. I called Stand for Animals Friday and was given a tentative appt for Tuesday if things changed whether for the best or worse. Dr. Amy McBride, at her name, Saint Amy McBride!! She was reassuring and caring. She gave Daisy fluids and antibiotics to take home. OMG!! Talk about a sigh of relief. Dr. McBride, her vet assistant, Josh I truly thank you. Daisy THANKS, her Big sister Paprika gives wet kisses Thank you working with me.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best places to take your pets. I have had over 50 community cats spayed and neutered here and they are amazing. The staff really do care about each and every animal that comes through their doors. I am extremely grateful for their patience and care they take with each animal. I highly recommend this Vet for affordable care and spay/neuter services.

Fantastic experience: Love the care and service from Stand for Animals. The staff is always professional and kind to the owners and our fur babies.

Jessica Neal Posted on Google 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: Wonderful and affordable! The staff is so friendly and caring

Paul Nance Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: I get that this place is cheaper than other vets but the old saying is true, you get what you pay for! Took my dog for a 2:00 appointment and 40 min later still sitting in my running car waiting to be seen. Not only is it impossible to get an appointment they obviously over book and force people to wait a long time even with an appointment! Horrible system and rude people at the front desk! Cheaper is definitely not better! This place sucks!

Kaitlyn Fox Posted on Google 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: They were absolutely fantastic with my boy, Ollie. He was in and out quickly. He is usually super nervous at the vet but he seemed to do great there. Thank you so much for taking great care of him and we will definitely be back!

Mark Sanger Posted on Google 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Had two female kittens spayed, rabies shots, de-wormer, distemper shots, treated for fleas. Gave us a super deal on cost. Fast, friendly courteous staff. They love their jobs and animals.

Nick Trent Posted on Google 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: I wasn't able to get services for my dog (injury is too specific and requires a specialist), but they were very helpful in giving recommendations for care and where I should be able to get treatment.

Jennifer Posted on Google 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chandool is an absolute saint! I can’t thank Naj for promptly getting Rambo in for an appointment. Then Dr. Chandool and the tech were absolutely amazing. Thank you for being so thorough and caring for our loved ones as you would your own!

Jana Posted on Google 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend this place enough. They were able to provide affordable care to a stray cat that we care for in our neighborhood. We brought him in to be fixed and because we suspected dental issues. They let us know up front they might not have been able to care for neutering and dental extractions in the same surgery. We were so hopeful they would, and they DID! Neutering, 9 dental extractions, antibiotics, steroids, blood work. All in 1 easy drop off appt. They went above and beyond on a discounted appt for a STRAY. 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic experience: We have took our cats to the clinic in Charlotte and Pineville location and most recently our new puppy. Doctor Emily Pfalzer, and everyone we spoke to were very welcomed and helpful. Thank you for your time and help.

Dan Hogan (hogie) Posted on Google 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: I have not enough words to say how wonderful this clinic is. They don't overcharge like other Vets & the staff is absolutely amazing. My cat & dog were both spayed & they're doing fantastic. Thank you to the Doctor & all the wonderful people who took great care of my animals. I definitely recommend this clinic to all.

Heidy Aleman Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: The person in charge (years ago) charged me full price just because of my email address. They are there to help people in need and people have to be screened when opening an account. That’s fine but first you have to be looked down upon and grovel for their help. That’s too bad the way they treat people. It’s bad enough that we’re in a position to even need their help in the first place. Shame on you!

adrienne f Posted on Google 7 months ago

Fantastic experience: Took in our 2 stray kitties in to get rabies shot and a checkup. Because they were strays we had no money to pay them this visit cause it was an unexpected expense! We did $0 down. They treated us with compassion and kindness, and we got sent home with everything vital they needed. I can’t wait to come back here! 10/10!!!!

Shanna Greene Posted on Google 7 months ago

Fantastic experience: They really care about your pets and treat them like family. Lobby is clean, inviting, and I love the hanging pictures of thy animals they have served.

Wayne F Posted on Google 7 months ago

Fantastic experience: I’ve rarely had good experiences with vets. I beige me dog her because she wasn’t eating and had diarrhea, but was drinking water. They helped me get my baby back and I didn’t even know dogs had actual anti diarrheal medication which is exactly what she needed. Now she’s back to running around with her lil attitude and enjoying her food again (when decides to of course). Also respected my decision to have a blood panel for her even though they didn’t think it was necessary. It felt like a collaborative experience and I truly appreciate it. I intend to bring her back and make this location her standard location.

Paula G Posted on Google 9 months ago

Negative experience: All the staff are very kind, however, stand for animals is only good for cheap vaccines. If your dog is sick DO NOT take them here! Take them to a real vet! Stand for animals takes on way too many clients at a time and I feel they rush through their patients appointments.

Becky Johnson Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: If you can get in, it's the best cost effective veterinary clinic in Charlotte. It's hard to get an appointment but worth the effort. Staff is friendly and professional. Prices are great.

Daisy Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: Staff is very patient and will answer questions and any concerns you have. I bring both of my cats here and everything is quick. Scheduling is easy and can be done online or by phone.

Kathryn Saniuk Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: they will always care for your pets in a cost effective and efficient way. I never feel like I’m being taken advantage of and I know my dogs are in the best hands! They’re so kind and attentive.

Ada Leon Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: I have taken my pup here for the past 4 years and will continue to bring him for as long as possible. Everyone here has always been kind and helpful. Definitely recommend them if anyone is looking for a new vet.

john Jack Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: Amazing place!!!!! We did the puppy plan and our puppy popped the 1st layer after her spay and we went back expecting a bill obviously to fix the issue and got a bigger cone from them. They put 2 staples in to fix the tear and got us a better cone and they charged us 35 bucks... THE CHEAPEST I found calling around because it was a bit of a drive to them about 1 hour and we didnt think we could make it with work was 500 BUCKS!!!!! THEY TRULY LOVE ANIMALS AND WANT TO HELP!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Updated review: Here to say that a few years ago, I moved, so I started going to a different vet in Charlotte. Let's just say I quickly came back to Stand For Animals! I had an appointment yesterday and Doctor Simmons was AMAZING. The vet tech was also incredible and they really took their time, were so patient and kind to my doggo, and gave me helpful recommendations to better care for my animal. I love SNC so much. <3 <3 SNC is a vet that cares about its patients. They are so sweet and accommodating and they are also really cheap, which is super nice. Constantly recommending to my friends and family!

Fantastic experience: Great place. Works like clockwork. Can be hard to get an appointment. But try the morning they release appointments on line and you will get in.

Summer M'Fkn Davis Posted on Google 10 months ago

Positive experience: For the price its a great place the staff is wonderful but I had my kittens neutered recently and afterwards one of them was shaking uncontrollably and they looked butchered. Also about 6 months ago my female cat was miscarring and I brought her in even though they didn't normally do the surgery needed (csection hysterectomy) they did anyway. Im not complaining bc they could have told me no but since the surgery she behaves like she has no balance falling all over the place and just acts ditzy I still think what they do for people who need to get their pets to a vet is awesome they even have resources to help pay for your visit

M.A.F. Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming and they treat my anxious german shepherd with lots of love. Great organization, low cost (no pet insurance). We used the puppy package, all went well and two years later we are still faithful clients.

Tee Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: Got my dog's teeth cleaned here several times. They're most likely the best priced option for tooth cleaning for dogs. It's a well-run hospital, the staff is professional.

Kiara Hernandez Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately we had to put our baby to sleep, but I’m deeply grateful with the staff, they were very very humane, they explained everything and made everything easier and treat our baby VERY kindly all the time, it’s my first time going through this process and I’m so glad I did it there. I don’t know the name of the doctor that treated Simba but I’m so very grateful with her kindness and compassion, if you guys read this just want to let you guys know y’all are wonderful human beings, I would recommend this vet and I would definitely use them if I ever decide to to have another fur baby ❤️

Tina mullis Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place, friendly staff and the doctors are patient and informative. And it doesn't cost a arm and a leg to make sure your animal is happy and healthy.

Anna Thompson Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: I heard about stand for animals on Nextdoor and checked reviews on google. Many cat owners recommended them as a quick, loving place for animal care that is also affordable. Sounded amazing and I was looking for a new vet after moving. I booked an appointment for my 5 year old cat. He's gone to the vet every year and never had any issues. He does take a few minutes to warm up, but not long. Pretty typical of all cats I've owned throughout my life especially for a new area with many animal smells around. He's been given compliments for how chill he is from every vet who has seen him. The front desk staff were great, the vet tech was also friendly. My cat was gone 15-20 minutes and brought back by a different vet technician. She informed me they could not proceed with his vaccines because he had bit the vet technician. I was shocked. He's never been aggressive and barely even hisses. I was told he could only come back if he was sedated. The woman at the front desk offered to book an appointment where I could be in the room with him and acknowledged that he was experiencing high levels of stress. After I left, I received a phone call that said I was given incorrect information. They had in fact given him 3 shots and needed payment. My cat has never had an issue remotely close to this before. It's worth noting that he had also pooped in his carrier (he's never had an accident before) and was visibly shaking. I took him out once I got to my car and he immediately curled up on my lap. He did not move and was extremely scared - tail between the legs and the whole works. What on earth happened? Why wouldn't you allow an owner to be in the same room as their pet? How do you give 3 shots, get bitten and induce a bathroom accident in 15 minutes but then blame the animal? The same animal who has been reported as an ideal, calm patient by other veterinarians? A key responsibility for a vet is to create a safe and calm environment for the animals who they are treating. They failed. It's not worth the time I save driving there or their reduced fees. The one star is for the front desk staff members who were kind and spoke softly to him after the appointment. It is unfortunate that he didn't receive similar treatment and understanding from the vet.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and reasonably priced . I am the 16th customer when they opened years ago. Very happy with the care they provide my animals . Highly recommend !

Fantastic experience: Wish I knew about this team of bets earlier! Everyone was nice, professional and definitely handled the babies with care! Cost was reasonable too

Mark Heinen Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great place in great Mission we appreciate everything they do and we made donations based on our dogs who had passed away and I hope that other dogs find families like we found them.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place and excellent care! Georgia approved.

Brittany Thompson Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I honestly loved this place until they started this policy of if my dog isnt spayed, they will not see her anymore. I know they want to profit off the costs but if I manage my dogs heats, its my choice. And refusing her care after years with them is a serious betrayal as owners and vets along with my fur babies are used to this routine and there's no unnecessary stresses. But then they refused even after an email. A shame they are doing this for responsible owners who Dont want unnecessary surgeries when I have it under control.

Deborah Travan Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about the wonderful vets and staff at Stand for Animals. After caring of my 11-year-old rescue Lab Maddie for many years, the time came to say goodbye. The front desk, the vet tech and the very compassionate vet Abby Dallas were all so gentle and kind to Maddie and me. Words can't express my gratitude. Top notch professionals and very affordable care. Wonderful place to care for your precious pets.

Sydney Lynn Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: We thought we finally found a vet that didn’t have the whole “holier than thou” attitude that look down upon you with every word that comes out of their mouth. Unfortunately we were wrong. We’ve been bringing our animals to stand for animals for YEARS. Left Mooresville because they started hiring more and more rude employees. Have been going to Charlotte for close to a year now. Everything has been perfect, kind employees, very informative, and understanding that life HITS HARD financially sometimes and yes vaccines can sometimes be pushed back. Until this morning. The old white lady with straight grey hair and a resting stank face at the front desk that looks at every human that is about to walk through the front doors with disgust (trust me we were watching her cause she did it to us when we walked through) has been the ONLY AND I MEAN ONLY person at that vet that has had a horrible attitude and treated us like we were stupid. We brought our cat in for the first time today because just after a week of having her LIFE hit hard and we have been barely scraping by paying our bills. The moment we had the money we brought in our cat. Our other animals have been consistently vaccinated, fixed, bought heart worm and flea and tick for, and brought immediately to the vets when something was just SLIGHTLY off. Our newest cat is the ONLY one that is behind. We weren’t told by the kind woman that brought our cat out after they did her vaccines that she had gingivitis which is what it is. It can happen at a high volume vet. Stuff gets forgotten to be mentioned or explained. But what should not happen in the slightest is while checking out we flip through the papers, see gingivitis written and both my partner and I having to ask (I am not exaggerating) twice each “she has gingivitis?” Just to be ignored until I have to loudly ask a third time (5th time in total between the two of us) “hold on she has gingivitis?” And then she very dismissively says “well is that what the paper says?”….. I’m sorry are you serious? Is this the standard of how stand for animals treats their pet parents? Genuinely? I then had to ask “what do we need to do about that?” She then once again dismissively says “you schedule a dental consultation down the road.” Very informative thank you. I then asked “how far is down the road exactly?” “Appointments open every 20th of the month so you can schedule online for her dental on March 20th.” “What can I do about it in the mean time?” “I don’t think they have dental chews for cats so nothing really.” Why in the world a 6 month old cat that is on the best food we have been able to find that doesn’t have chicken in it has gingivitis I don’t know. I would’ve liked being told ANYTHING on the situation. Might be predisposed, might be her food, might be just an unfortunate card pull. Or even just a simple ‘hey by the way we saw this’ as I’m sure they can’t just give unsure diagnosis. Just anything besides a smart remark. We had came in a week prior because we accidentally thought that is when our appointment was scheduled. She wasn’t the kindest then but we thought she might’ve been having a bad day. Obviously that is not the case. She did try to see if we could be fit in anyway the week prior if that counts. We are genuinely considering not bringing ANY of our animals back purely because of how we were treated aka looked down upon, dismissed, and not informed. I really hope this is just a one off situation, employee, whatever you would like to call it cause we LOVED this location before this interaction.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing feral cats here for spay/Neuter for years now, and they have it down to a science. It's very organized and easy. I also take my animals here for vet visits. They get good care, and everything is very affordable, from the check ups to the spays/neuters.

Mike Chaffin Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Very affordable vet care as well as spay/neuter. Have been using them for years and won't go anywhere else!

Mesa Kvistad Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The entire staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and caring towards you and your pets. CLEAN and welcoming environment. They write your pet’s name on the chalkboard for their appointment (so cute) and they get a little treat at the end for being so good. This is a great place that you can feel confident sending your pet to, they even offer payment plans with 0% interest.

Ariel Franklin Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I would like to THANK GOD for SFA!!! My Girl NALA was brought in for Emergency Surgery (last year) sorry for the late post… And the level of care before during and after was the best I’ve ever seen. The Dr’s were available by email for all my questions even when I thought I was overreacting. They loved on Nala after surgery as she family and that spoke volumes to me. Both of my girls have been seen here and I really don’t see us going anywhere else. Including before &after pics to show how dire my situation was.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Stand for Animals. The entire staff was very nice and they were really sweet with my dog. Everyone played with her. The vet and the tech answered all of my questions and didn't rush me. Dr. Yanessa even got on the floor to examine and play with my girl. I think checking her that way made her more comfortable. They also put your pup's name on the chalk board. Update 11-30-22 Still coming here faithfully. Always so much love and attention here. They really care about your pets! Prices have increased but I love that they are transparent with pricing. I never feel blindsided by the total. My girl gets the help she needs. Update 8-28-28 I was just there today and they never disappoint. They really care about your pets and your financial stability. Everyone is so warm and understanding. Dr. Beitel always remembers my girl and I can tell she wants what is best for her. Techs are great too! Update 1-8-25 Welcome Dr. Zavala! She has been a great addition. There are some new techs too. They are wonderful too! I can't stop raving about this place, the affordability and the caring staff!

Fantastic experience: This was the first time Monty was seen at this clinic. We had a great experience. The staff was friendly, and the veterinarian who took all of my information was amazing. He was good with Monty, and he gave me lots of information on how to keep Monty healthy .❤️

Fantastic experience: Excellent Vet Clinic...I have been bringing my dog in for the past few years and have always had the best of experiences...Friendly and super helpful/knowledgeable staff...Visits always transpire promptly and quickly, with ease...Kourtney Carro is the best and absolutely amazing! She always has my dog PorkChop excited to see her and not fearful of going to get his checkups...Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Zavala is wonderful and very caring. She was attentive and thorough with all my questions and concerns. Would certainly recommend! Make sure you follow their scheduling process which is very different than other veterinary practices but worth it!

Harden'd Ent Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Stand For Animals Is an amazing vet. No hassle, no fuss, and their prices are reasonable. You can tell everyone cares about your pets and they make sure they get right down to business. No long wait for the vet to see your pet and they do what they need to do and get you out. My only gripe is that I wish you could talk to the Vet and not just the assistants.

Garrett Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: THE DOCTORS ARE GOOD THE PHARMACY SUCKS The clinic is great, I'm just sick of getting sent bravecto that's broke open. I Foster animals so I can't just throw money away, $40 a shot. Getting a hold of them id impossible and they won't offer prescriptions to sources with good medicine. Even if they had appointments to offer and they don't, I don't know that I would go.

Lauren Gosnell Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: 1. You can never get in. 2. If your dog is the slightest bit timid they will use it as an excuse to not complete the exams/appointment yet still charge you. 3. They also want you to medicate the crap out of your dog if they are the least bit scared or timid, even if they are not aggressive at all legitimately just scared. 4. They cannot keep a provider! I think the last one only lasted a month which goes to show you how bad it is

Fantastic experience: Nothing but great things to report from my many many years taking my dogs here (and at its prior name Charlotte Spay and Neuter I think it was called). I've taken my dogs to get spayed and neutered, for routine care like flea & tick prevention and heartworm meds (not only the tests but the medications), and most recently for more non-routine care such as removal of a mass on one dog's leg. The staff pretty much always squeal with delight when they see my dogs and are obviously genuinely in love with animals. I've only had one customer service issue/error in so many years (6+?) that I've been coming to, which is basically unheard of. They're efficient and know what they're doing like an oiled machine, but they really care. They put the day's appointments names on the chalkboard daily...its so stinking adorable. I will continue to keep coming here not just for the low rates, but for the care and attention and efficiency. Update 1/18/23: Continued loving care from the folks here, just got dentals done and ended up not having any extractions Little guy is super out of it but they send you home with all the instructions necessary and have on-call email to ask questions. I LOVE having a reliable place to take the dogs, it's such a relief. Update 9/27/24: still love taking our dogs here, a vet appt with some meds to go home with, very affordable. Caring vets and techs, easy processing in and out.

Negative experience: They are a money grabber. They charge for every little things. Went for a yearly check up for an older dog, they did her check up but since we had one question they mad us schedule another appointment (money grab) to ask if putting her down would be the best option because she stopped breathing twice, dont eat or drink often and is over 14yrs old with multiple issues. We just hate to see her suffer. . Younger dog If you're pro life for pets this place not for you. We shouldn't be forced the get our pets Spayed/ Neutered if we don't want to. Them not being spayed or Neutered shouldn't stop you from caring for their health (doing a simple yearly check up). They aren't near other dogs like that or playing with them. It's no type of risk doing a check up. ALSO, THERE ARE RISK OF GETTING YOUR PET CLIP. They don't talk about that because they want to Monopolies Breeding.

Fantastic experience: Been a client at SFA for 10 years. Great place to take your little or big babies, although very hard to get an appointment because of their hours, otherwise not any issues. They really do care for your. Animals. I prefer them above any other vet care facilities in the area. The Drs are the best. And the vets are very friendly as well. I’m try g to get an appointment right now. Hope I can get one for my 3 chihuahuas ASAP.

Negative experience: Before I explain why I am leaving them 1 star review, please take a look at my appointment confirmation email I received from them day after I requested my appointment. I did this 3 weeks before my appointment. I showed up for my appointment at 4.20pm on Friday 9/6. Lady at the front desk told me she doesn't have my appointment scheduled and I showed her email where it says " your appointment has been confirmed and scheduled". She mentioned that it is just email that they sent when they receive appointment request and it says " thank you for your request". At this time, I didn't do bigger research so I left. I left and looked for more information to figure out what happened. I found my original email with appointment request and I came back to show her that second email is my appointment confirmation and first one is the one she is referring too. She rolled her eyes at me as soon as she saw me and when I came back to show her that mistake happened on their side. She kept saying that unfortunately they wont be able to see me today because they are closing soon. Then she mentioned that they actually booked through whole September and my cat doesn't need annual visit because he is only 4 years old. I am not sure what happened at their end and why would I receive appointment confirmation next day with time for me scheduled ( time that I didn't request online so clearly next available). I didn't receive any explanation on what happened or offered new appointment date. Lady who helped me (I wish I knew her name) was rude and thought I am at blame. Definitely not customer service you want to receive.

Fantastic experience: Awesome, the staff was just awesome! I muzzled Mr Bojangles, because he's not good with strangers...he came trotting out, smiling, no muzzle, was told he was a very good boy- Awe! You fooled them, huh Bo?! Flea allergy & needs to lose 5 pds, ( my little potato), was very relieved to hear flea allergy, and not something worse! Thank you for being so good to my sensitive little guy, all'ya'all are just awesome, very grateful & so is Bo!

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is attentive and lovely. I take my two dogs and my cat here and they absolutely get the best care. Truly grateful to have found this place

Fantastic experience: Everyone who has helped me for the last 10 months with my puppy from vaccinations to examinations to medications to surgery for spaying has been awesome, professional, and friendly. We are lucky to have an organization like this in our community that has prices that are affordable and still Care that’s exemplary.

Fantastic experience: I really love stand for animals mission. They provide wonderful services to the Charlotte community and will forever be my go to place. ** Only downside is, I wish the customer service done over email was a little more professional. That's my opinion though.

Chad Hall Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I've had 5 pets neutered or spayed by them over the last 7 years. They've been great. I've never had any issues with them and the vet actually saved one of my cats (Oreo) by finding and curing an infection that was found during surgery. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: What a great spay experience. I arrived at the scheduled drop off time and it was very organized, seamless even. Pick up was the same, I was pleased that they called owners in the order that they arrived, and the exit was through the back. They had a chalkboard of all the pets they were seeing that day. Staff was incredible. Will bring all of my pets here from now on.

Fantastic experience: Shoutout to Dr. Beitel for her compassion, empathetic approach, and overall bedside manner explaining diagnoses and expectations. I felt tremendously better about my dogs condition and even know what to look out for. Additionally, Andrea, the practice manager, for being professional and caring. I know Scotch and Whiskey are taken care of well with these two around.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my pets to this vet for over a year and they have helped my pets and have provided great services and very helpful and friendly people recommend thank you guys really appreciated you guys❤️

Fantastic experience: I was being charged ridiculous prices at another Vet so I looked for a place that was reputable and reasonably priced and I found SFA! They are caring and polite to owners and pets. They diagnosed my dog with pancreatitis and effectively treated her and called the next day to check on us. They are also my go to for sick calls and medication (they have a pharmacy on site). Needless to say this is my first choice for my dogs annual physicals and medical needs. Give them a try and see why I love them!

Fantastic experience: All staff is wonderful here they really love what they do. They really takes care of my Boss

McKenzie Thielemann Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Always in and out quickly. Max 25 mins each visit. This is not a place for you if you like to talk with the vet, one on one ( they do that if you book a vet appointment, but most appointments are tech appointments ) Great and cheaper pricing for shots & annual visits. They have puppy packages & Pit Bull packages, just ask them :) **The staff here is not the warmest..BUT they work hard, quickly & are kind to the animals ( which matters more to me )

Ferren Stala Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I love stand for animals for their puppy and kitten packages. Great inexpensive way to get microchipped, neutered, and baby shots as those things all add up. Very nice staff and very organized system. Sometimes it’s hard to get through as they are very busy, but they are usually good about getting back to you.

Fantastic experience: They have taken excellent care of my fur baby. Reasonable prices allow me to get her to the vet on a regular basis. The people who work there really care about your animal. I have always had a stress free experience which also keeps my fur baby calm and happy!

Negative experience: My husband and I have been bringing both of our dogs to the Charlotte location for several years now. Today, we brought both of our dogs to the vet for their regular tech appointments. One of our dogs, Kota, has been getting Cytopoint for several months now. This is due to her seasonal allergies and itching. During the visit today, I was told that there was a new policy in place that required her to have a prescription, through Stand for Animals, for oral flea and tick prevention. We have discussed with the Vet at Stand for Animals in the past, that we are not comfortable giving oral flea and tick medication to our animals. We have the Seresto collars for both of our dogs. This has always worked for both of them. I was told today that this was no longer "allowed" and I would have to purchase fleas and tick oral medication through your office, on the spot, in order to receive the shot. I asked since this was the first I was hearing of this new policy, if we could go ahead and get the shot. This would allow me to go home and discuss this with my husband before making a decision like that, on the spot. The tech went into the back, came back out, and told me no. My main issue with this today was the fact that we were already sitting in the vet, ready to be seen only to be told we have to make a decision on the spot, about a medication we aren't super comfortable giving them, and could not be given the time to even discuss this decision. Unfortunately, this felt more like a money grab than anything else. I have called around and asked a few other vet clinics if they have this policy, and they do not nor have any of them heard of a policy like this. As a clinic, I understand you have the right to enforce whatever policy you all feel is appropriate. That being said, I am very upset that a clinic we have not only been exclusively coming to, but have referred several current clients to you, will turn away someone over a "policy" that was not ever discussed with us and has received this shot many times before this, with zero issue. I know that this org is funded BY customers and other donations. So while I can understand the need to "bundle" medications with visits, this is not an approach we are comfortable with nor feel should be forced on us in order to get a SEPERATE medication that is for a separate reason.

Fantastic experience: They are AMAZING! the best care you can get for your pet in Charlotte hands down. Very professional and polite to guest and very genital with the animals. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Lisa Silver Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Impressed from start to finish. We adopted 2 stray kittens, so it was their 1st vet visit and my 1st time bringing in pets*. The visit was quick and stress-free. The lobby smells amazing. The bathroom too! Real candles burning were calming, and so was the staff. *I trapped 14 feral cats over the course of 2 months (behind my workplace) and had them spayed at the Pineville location. They give special pricing for feral cats. The staff was wonderful there too! They took excellent care of my wild babies.

Fantastic experience: I have had several dogs in the past. Have taken them to other vets that I was not impressed with. They were more business than personal. When I took my Pit in with an ear infection, I was nervous because my Pit is not well socialized, can be aggressive. I was very pleased with the front desk, the assistants and the Vet. They handled my Pit with ease. My Pit is doing well. I rate SFA a 5 star in comparison to all the other Vets. Also, some animal lovers blame the Vet unwarranted when thier beloved pet is too sick to recover. Please don't blame the great Vets when you lose a pet. I have had to put down my beloved Ace. All pet owners will lose a pet at some point and it hurts, but don't always blame the Vet. Thanks SFA, good job.

Fantastic experience: I like that they get you in and out. The prices are comparable but usually less than others. My card cats are calm when they go on and the same way when they exit. I enjoy the chalkboard welcome with the names of the visiting pets for the day. I visit the Charlotte and Mooresville locations.

Fantastic experience: Awesome service! I love this even exists for us, pet owners. With inflation prices rising, affordable vet services are important. They go above and beyond and don't skip quality care for your pets.

Negative experience: I trusted this placed. I honestly thought this was the place for my babies.. I thought they genuinely cared for my babies. I use to take my babies every year for their check up, to make sure they are good and healthy. I would pay extra if they needed any medication. I just wanted them to live happy and healthy that’s all I cared for. Until recently. I lost one of my babies on Christmas.. i had taken her on august here for her yearly check up. On December she got super sick.. lost so much weight.. started going blind.. throwing up.. pooping out blood. I was panicking. I took her to urgent care to see what was going on. They ran some tests. They told me she had diabetic Ketoacidosis…and other problems and I was so shocked because I was like no way I been taking her to the Vet every year and i was never told anything about her having high blood sugar. My baby could have lived more years she was 11. I feel like it’s also my fault I should have known. Once I told them about her having a dry nose and they didn’t give me a solution I should of known the red flags. I always told them everything that was going on with her because I wanted them to make sure they would take care of her right. But I’m not taking my other baby back. Now she’s gone and nothing can be done. Just make sure they are really checking on your babies and doing there jobs.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Stand For Animals takes wonderful care of their patients, whether they are house pets or community cats. I have been a client for 10 years, and I'm sure I've made the best choice for my cats as well as the community cats that they have helped live healthier lives. Last week, I had an appointment for my sweet kitten Taz's first visit, and she's off to a healthy and happy start with their Kitten Package!

Negative experience: So I have gotten 1 of my dogs spayed at the lake norman location. I now im looking to get my male neutered. I was told to check around the 10th of each month to book appointments for the next month, as they only open up appointments 1 month at a time and they arr first come first serve. Dec 12th i requested an appointment for Jan 10th. I was emailed saying I would receive and email with a confirmation of request. I heard NOTHING. Because I have been stressed out and thought oh maybe they are busy. I finally called today. The lady said oh well you should have gotten an email saying approved or denied…i said i have yall in my search bar on my email i received nothing. She said oh that must have been an error. Im like why did i receive nothing? She said i can see you here, for demi? I said no, for Finn. She said well if we pulled you up and under owner profile unless you put the info in for your other dog we would have skipped over you. I said well of course that info would be the same as i am the owner…i cant change that….unless you wanted me to lie She said well you must not have put his info in. ARE YOU JOKING? OF COURSE I PUT IN HIS INFO, you HAVE to put in Pets name, weight, breed, and what the request is for. From everything she said… they didn’t read the request properly and skipped over me because i was already in the system. If you had an error emailing me saying i was denied, then you probably had an error with the request as well. That is so unprofessional to take zero responsibility, no apology or nothing. Lady says well you can check back for next month for Feb openings. I have waited to get this appointment scheduled since Nov 15th when i called and they said to go online and request. I will never go to the Charlotte location for any reason because of this. I called back and spoke to someone else on the customer service line and she was so nice and apologetic!

Negative experience: These people don’t care about animals at all. I had an appointment and it look them 45 minutes to even see my dog who is having some sort of reaction where he has a spot of raw skin and he was flustered once we got inside so they told me to put a muzzle on him since he was being fussy and they proceeded to tell me that there was a note in his file that he could only be seen in trazadone. This was never told to me. Anyways I put the muzzle on him, even though it took a little longer than expected. And once I finally got it on, they said the doctor “declined to see him” with absolutely no compassion or remorse for this poor helpless animal. Also, why did y’all waste my damn time then? They didn’t recommend another vet/animal hospital and didn't care that my dog was in pain. So now it’s 4:30 on a Friday and I’m trying to get him help which I found at Partners Animal Hospital which is 5 minutes away and the best vet I’ve ever been too. They saw him even though they were 15 minutes from closing and were SO sweet to him and took care of him and even offered to trim his nails. GO THERE INSTEAD!

Fantastic experience: I don't know how I never heard of this place until recently. These people are amazing and they are doing the community and our beloved pets a huge service. They are extremely efficient and organized. One of my dogs was recently neutered there, and I noticed his incision was looking a bit iffy. It happened to be Thanksgiving. I could not believe it when Dr. Lauren MacDonald got back to me almost immediately. On Thanksgiving! I was not expecting that. I know that she was busy with her own family and what not. However, she made my dog and I feel important and that we were a priority. She had him all set up with meds and a plan within a day. I was floored, Thank you Dr. Lauren!!! Thank you to the rest of the team as well. It was a wonderful experience. This is the place that I will trust with my pets for a very long time to come. Every single person I dealt with there was wonderful, kind, and patient. Great place! And! I loved the chalkboard with all the babies names for the day (or week, lots of names lol) I thought that was super special and sweet
