At St. Francis Animal Hospital, we take pride in providing exceptional veterinary care with a compassionate touch. Our dedicated team is known for being professional, kind, and attentive to both pets and their owners. Many customers rave about our veterinarians' thoroughness and expertise, especially praising Dr. Souder and Dr. Wertheimer for their empathetic approach and ability to make pets feel comfortable during visits.

Our facilities are clean and welcoming, with friendly staff who strive to create a positive experience for every visitor. Pets are often treated with great care, and clients appreciate our efforts to communicate openly about treatment options and costs.

However, some customers have raised concerns about pricing and service discrepancies, with a few suggesting that costs can be higher than expected. While we work hard to accommodate urgent needs, there have been instances where clients experienced longer wait times or felt their concerns were not fully addressed. Despite some negative feedback regarding pricing and communication, many clients remain loyal due to the quality of care received.

Negative experience: They will not provide even a few days of the prescription food my pets eat because the annnual exam is over due. I can’t get them in for over a week and they are going to have issues with an abrupt shift to a new food. Even doctors for humans will provide emergency fills of prescriptions until you can be seen. This is an overly harsh and potentially risky policy. I will be going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: St Francis always takes great care of my dogs! Had another great visit yesterday with Dr Trey and his team. Highly recommend this pet hospital!

Fantastic experience: Came in as new patient with middle age large breed dog. Definitely felt like they wanted to take the time and care for my boy. Everyone was careful to make him comfortable and feel safe. Reasonable prices. They took biopsy and looked at it in house so I knew immediately the tumors had no cancer cells, that saved several days of worry. This will be our veterinarian going forward.

Negative experience: I wasn’t going to originally make a review. But with the weak attempt to hid my wives comment by having staff add fake comments really frustrated me. So I have copy and pasted my wives comment so that higher ups at St. Francis see this and make it right. St Francis told me that if I didn't euthanize my puppy Red that he would die or “eventually drop dead.” At 12 weeks or that it could happen at any time in his life. They told me that surgery could cost anywhere from $8k to $10k so that they wouldn’t blame me if I decided to euthanize Red. When I questioned them about being positive about their diagnosis, they told me they would quadruple check and that since they had 10 years of experience they were pretty certain that Red had PDA. I have posted a picture of Reds medical records from our 2nd opinion. Which is also another frustrating part because St. Francis also took 0 accountability of their diagnosis of reds and only stated he had a grade 3 heart murmur on his medical record with zero mention of PDA. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. Imagine how many animals St. Francis has misdiagnosed with PDA. CRAZY (We had an extremely upsetting experience at St. Francis Veterinary Hospital that I feel other pet owners need to be aware of. We brought in our 10-week-old Australian Shepherd because he had been running around and then appeared briefly lightheaded, almost like he might pass out. We were obviously concerned and wanted to be cautious. After a general exam, the veterinarian immediately diagnosed him with PDA and told us that puppies with this condition often die before 12 weeks. We were told that surgery would cost around $10,000 and would need to be done immediately, or he could “drop dead” randomly at home. They even said they “wouldn’t blame us” if we chose to euthanize him. We were completely blindsided. Our puppy is a loved member of our family, and hearing that euthanasia was being presented as a reasonable option during a first visit, without any specialist confirmation, was devastating. When my husband mentioned wanting a second opinion, the response became noticeably defensive. We were told they had 10 years of experience, but that they would “quadruple check” — while still insisting they were certain about the diagnosis. At no point were we encouraged to see a cardiologist to confirm such a serious and life-altering condition. My husband came home absolutely distraught. We immediately scheduled a second opinion at East Padden Animal Hospital. There, the veterinarian could not hear a heart murmur at all and was not concerned about our puppy’s heart. We were told he looks very healthy and that his heart sounds great. What st. Francis put on their report was a grade 3 heart murmur and didn’t mention anything about their diagnosis they told us and stated they were fully in agreement with our second opinion which they were clearly not. Of course, we will continue to monitor him closely. But the emotional distress we experienced after being told our healthy 10-week-old puppy could die at any moment — and that euthanasia was something to consider — was overwhelming. We are deeply troubled by how easily another family might have been persuaded to put down what could be a completely healthy pet based on that initial assessment. We truly hope St. Francis will make this right. We will update this review depending on how they choose to respond.)

Fantastic experience: Had to take my 17 year old cat in as a walk-in for a very bad UTI. Yes, there was a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected for urgent care. They did their very best to get her taken care of that day, since I came in from out of town. She drastically improved the next day, and continues to get better. Will definitely visit again if the need arises.

Fantastic experience: I love this place!!! Best care, the most knowledgeable. I have taken all my dogs 6 or 7 of them over 10 years and by far I get the highest quality care over any place else in town and I have been to all of them. They have done easy stuff and more complicated surgeries like removing an eye And are superior to other vet doctors they know their stuff! just fantastic. Never any issues afterwards. I will not take my animals anywhere else. They are 10 star all the way! Lisa Wunder

Negative experience: Yesterday was my first time here and probably my last. My girlfriend suggested it as she brings her cat here. My dog peed on floor and there was blood fairly normal case of a UTI. I called St Francis and I explained situation and asked them for a price quote and told them I had lost my job and was next to broke. Receptionist looked it up and told me for the visit and urine test was $150 plus any meds. I asked it’s $150 total for the test and the visit and meds are extra? Because I wanted to clarify as $150 seemed on the low end of what I’ve paid in past for other dogs UTI. Receptionist said yes $150 plus meds. I bring my dog there and they hand me a bill for $390. I tell them the above and they told me I must have misunderstand as the visit itself is $150 the urine test is close to $200 then meds. Well I guess they don’t realize that when you are in room 5 you can hear all the conversations they have in the back. I listened to the vet go back there and explain what I said and someone else mentioned which receptionist it might have been and the they either said something like “she’s still giving quotes wrong” or the “system is giving quotes wrong” Regardless of if the system or person is wrong shouldn’t a receptionist know a visit alone is $150?? Meaning they had to know a visit AND any other service would’ve been more?? They gave me 50% the visit but bill was still $300 double the phone quote. I told them I just won’t eat next week. And they took my money. I’m autistic I have near perfect recall of conversations not only that my girlfriend was siting next to me when I called she confirmed for me she could not only hear them over the phone she also heard me clarify the price and the service for that price. A UTI is basic and common in dogs. If this hospital is unable to accurately quote a routine procedure I wouldn’t trust them with anything more complicated.

Fantastic experience: The staff handled my extremely shy cat with extreme calmness and gentleness. I definitely recommend this office.

Kellie White Posted on Google 2 months ago

Negative experience: Took my dog in for care, besides an exam and meds, couldn't afford to do much else here. Skipping through the visit because the MA's were nice enough, and the doctor was okay, but wish I would have checked chewy.com for meds before agreeing in a panicked and vulnerable emotional state to buy meds from here. They charged 4x the amount markup for some antibiotic topical that chewy.com has for a fraction of the price. Of course I made the mistake if leaving the premises with the cream and didn't find out about chewy until the following day, and they won't accept a return/ refund of a brand new, never opened box of medication purchased one day ago, but please research any suggested medications if you're not made of money. You may find them cheaper elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sowder is incredible she took the time to explain everything to me and my husband and wanted to get the best game plan together for my dogs health. She spent so much of her time on me and my dog. I have been coming here over 10 years for my animals and you guys have a ton of amazing vets. Her assistant cannot remember her name was also great my dog is very vocal and anxious and they made it less stressful and came up with solutions.

Fantastic experience: We usually take our cats in for emergency visits (Banfield for regular care). But every time we go in there for the past 4 years everyone has been incredibly kind. Wait times can get pretty long but that’s the nature of urgent care so I’m not too bothered by it. Most recently went 2 days ago, the Dr who saw my cat was so incredibly nice and explained everything so well. It’s not something you can quantify how much it means yknow. Price wasn’t great but again, expected for emergency pet care. I do appreciate that she explained the reasoning for getting X-rays/ultrasound but wasn’t getting pushy with it.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank St. Francis enough for urgently helping us take care of our farm cat, Tank. Dr. Graisy was compassionate and thorough in her treatment plan and extremely patient with us as we thought of every imaginable question. We will definitely be back. If you’re looking for honest, compassionate care you’ll find it here with Dr. Graisy and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: I want to gate keep this business because of the positive experience with my kitty here. There was no upselling. Don’t let aesthetics be a reason and carefully look at other reasons for reviews. I about the added expense to package things pretty instead of focusing on the health of your companion. It is clean, staff are friendly, and you are helped. It came highly recommended by a family member and does not break the bank at a time like this. My cat is doing very well and the treatment plan was explained very well. It has never been explained how a care plan was staffed with other providers at another hospital. This is very important in medicine. Doing it is common, but I’ve never had it shared how a care plan is formed and the reasoning behind it. This afforded the opportunity to get a second opinion if I chose with a clear reason why. I will return with my other companions as needed.

Fantastic experience: I’m so thankful I came to this hospital. The customer service was great on the phone and in person! There was no wait at ask on a Saturday which was great! The nurses and the vet Dr Rachel were so kind to my dog and were very thorough with their exam. They were up front about the prices and checked with me about everything before proceeding. They worked with me on a lot of options to keep things affordable and I was really happy about that because this was an unexpected expense. I recommend this place for your affordable pet needs!

Fantastic experience: I am very pleased with St. Francis animal hospital, whether with appt or walk in I can get in and be seen, they are good with my cats who are extremely people shy but allow the staff to handle and check them out which is the biggest reason I return. Additionally they communicate my options & my costs are fair & reasonable.

Negative experience: !!!!Dr. Jessika Julian SWUNG AT MY DOG (who is a 1 yr old puppy who has NEVER bit anyone) as if to try to hit him when he barked at her!!!! Do not go here! Absolutely horrific way to deal with a sick puppy. Her behavior and lack of consent in handling him brought on his reaction and in response she tried to hit him! Never in my life have I experienced this type of behavior from a vet, She should NOT be in practice. Other vets I see practice fear free handling and I could tell by the way she was trying to man handle his mouth that he was uncomfortable. If he didn't bite you while your hands were literally IN his mouth, why on earth would you think he would after you move away? She triggered his prey drive because she moved erratically and he was frustrated because she repeatedly crossed his physical boundaries. Then she tried to hit him! Completely unprofessional and honestly I'm aghast. And worried now he will have more reaction to future vets because of her completely horrific behavior. I had warned them he was nervous around the vet but he was an absolute sweetie to the vet techs (2 who came in) and only reacted because of the vets poor and careless handling, DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: Doctor julian and staff provided five star service and care. They were able to get us in for the same day appointment, and the wait wasn't even that bad. My cat and my feelings were very much cared for. St. Francis is now our regular vet. Forever grateful

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for 13 years. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The providers have found and treated many complications with my dog, in a very compassionate manner. They have been excellent in helping my anxious/ reactive big dog with his shots, making it a pleasant experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I brought my two new kittens to establish care- they showed compassion towards me and my family because we have an established past history with our previously deceased animals in the past … I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this animal clinic for all your veterinary needs! The pricing point is reasonable and very affordable compared to other clinics in the area.

Negative experience: I brought my cat here and during the initial exam to get notes about what is going on she got a bit spicy so I figured they would have written down that she is a bit spicy. The vet doctor came in and checked her out and she got spicy again and the vet got mad at me for not informing her that my cat was a little spicy even though they should’ve written it down and she should have read the notes. Long story short we had to put my baby down because she was in pain that was unable to be fixed:( Immediately after she had passed the vet told me that she was now toxic to other animals and personally that felt very insensitive especially right after we had to say goodbye. I feel like this place does not care about their customers and they just want your money. I would absolutely never recommend this place to anybody. If I could give zero stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I have been able to get my elderly pet in when necessary without a long wait. The staff are caring & provide comprehensive explanations for illness & treatments.

Sarah H Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: The vet tech was very nice, patient, and listened to all concerns while asking appropriate questions. Did not care for the vet who clearly is not comfortable around cats and didn't seem particularly interested in hearing my concerns or helping my pet. I had to really advocate to get the meds we needed. Would not see that vet again, but would consider St. Francis again. The front desk person was also very nice and helpful when checking in and settling the bill.

Fantastic experience: The whole staff were wonderful at St Francis during our stressful visit with our sick dog. The vets explained everything and I had peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands.

Kathleen Bledsoe Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: took 2 cats in for breathing issues and after a long wait the helper came in and combed one of the cats for fleas and found flea dirt?? and the other one had a flea (indoor only cats) so when the vet came in she only treated for fleas and did not address the breathing issues (which I too had due to sewer gases getting into the house via a damaged pipe) but even when the doctor came in no exam was done only fleas addressed so for nearly 600 dollars I got a flea treatment and when I voiced concern on a email they sent they said the vet would be calling me but that never happened either I feel very ripped off

Fantastic experience: We needed to bring our boy Frankie, of our kitties, just not feeling well. Our regular vet at another facility, couldn't see him until the 5th, which wouldn't do! St Francis takes walk-ins and within 2 hours Frankie was handled with love and care and próvided all tests and meds. Frankie is doing better and St Francis has a new patient! You guys ROCK!

Fantastic experience: Ever since ownership changed this hospital has improved so much!!! Dr evans is absolutely wonderful as is the other exotic vet whos name i cannot seem to remember at the moment. St francis is the only place were comfortable taking our macaw and other birds for beak trims and check ups. They always express great concern for the quality of care we recieve and they are very in tune with animals emotions! I love how careful and explanatory they all are! So happy to have found the vets at st. Francis!!! Thanks guys :) ________________________________________ Wish I could leave multiple reviews >-< st francis is always so patient with all of our family's animals. They treat our dogs, Ducks, and parrots. Lilly is in today for a normal checkup and beak trim because she has scissor beak. Everyone here has always greeted her as if she's just another person ^-^ so glad to have st francis in our area ❤ I did see some reviews about necessity of exams before vaccines and just want to express that routine exams are necessary for the health of our babies and human doctors usually require exams after a year for medications as well :) ❤ please be kind to your veterinary teams they work so hard!

Fantastic experience: I came in for an emergency visit. Additionally, I have an anxious dog and both the technician Brittany and our vet (I think Cynthia) were incredibly kind, helpful, and took their time to ensure my dog felt safe and comfortable. I greatly appreciate all the extra time they gave to us.

Negative experience: I am a 90 year old woman on medicade and my cat is a emotional support animal. We came to St. Francis because Mubarak has a sore paw. 1. On arrival I was asked to sign an intake form that states "I have read and understand the fee policy..." or words to that effect. I had not been shown any such policy other than being told HOW to pay. I was not told about the flat fee for being seen. The fee is OK but why is it not listed in writing any where. We (My helper and I) were told that there is nothing in writing about that fee. 2. the doctors and technitions (doctors helpers) were great. My 18 month old male cat came away without being traumatized and with his sore paw cleaned up. The doctor explained the possible charges and when I said that it was more money than I had brought with me, she said that was OK. The estimate was about $450 and I was going to be short about $100 for the bill. She, the doctor indicated that she would accept that. 3. I mentioned that the statement "I have read..." should not be on the intake form if there is nothing to read, the technition got upset. 4. The woman checking us out told me I had to pay the whole bill at that time, when I gave her the cash ($285) that I had with me. She insisted that I had to give her the whole amount. I lost my cool and told her if she wanted the rest of the money she would have to wait. Her response was, "You didn't pay your bill as agreed, and you harrassed our technician. We may not offer you treatment in the future." (I don't remember her exact words but the meaning that I heard was a threat, PAY NOW OR WE WON"T TREAT YOU CAT AGAIN.) My response was "I may not come her again." And I will not. The doctor and her assistants were great, but the front staff lost you a patient. CSP

Positive experience: So thankful St. Francis was able to get our dog in same day. We were treated very well. Medication here is very expensive. But they were able to transfer the prescription to our normal clinic. $43 for five pills vs $12 at our normal clinic.

Negative experience: Not impressed, I took a kitten in there, Told him I had led me up to bringing her in she had thrown up and had a little bowel movement with some blood in it and I noticed a hole in her side so instead of running x-rays the minute I got in there they took her temperature and said she was stable even though she wasn’t moving three hours later they finally took an x-ray and she had been shot I’m not sure why they didn’t think it was an emergency they kept saying they had triage before me. The staff was pleasant but that’s the only star I will give them she had declined so quickly I had to euthanize her

N F Posted on Google 6 months ago

Negative experience: They don’t close until 8pm, came in at 7 and was told they stop being patients at 630. They wouldn’t take my dog with a possible UTI and there was absolutely no one in the waiting room maybe adjust your hours if you don’t want to work until 8pm. I would like to edit this to respond to their response. Every single room door was open, there was not a soul in the lobby and the floor was already mopped, that does not scream “we’re busy caring for pets”, that screams “stay out we want to go home!”. And my dog was diagnosed with a UTI, when I was eventually able to get him in to see his primary vet, so your staffs unwillingness to see him and eagerness to go home delayed his care further. Correct me if I’m wrong but, Urgent cares are supposed to be there to handle these smaller things so the ERs don’t get slammed, I guess this explains why the ER vets are absolutely inundated with patients because your staff is turning away business. I’d suggest you update your business hours or add a disclaimer to the hours on your front door about the walk in times.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the staff here. They're incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I have learned, however, that they recently removed the snack room, and that was honestly a bit of a tragedy, as I am there often for work. And personal related reasons, because I also bring my own pets here. I specifically drive across town to bring my birds to the avian vet, the exotic veterinarian is incredible and very trustworthy. I can't remember her name, but she is a shining star there.

Fantastic experience: These guys are my 2nd vet experience in the area, and I will say they made me feel so much more at ease, and cared about. I just took my dog to St. Francis in orchards on sunday around 9am and really loved our vet, the team, and the experience. I feel the price we had for an urgent care visit, feberal cool down procedure, labs, IV fluids, 4 medications, a quick multi spot shave down, and the exam was very reasonable. They were kind and gentle with enki (despite him screaming to the rooftops they weren't- hes a little dramatic). They also got me in rather quickly even being a walk in. I was so impressed I am doing my follow up and making them my permanent vet going forward. They treated me kindly, understood my financial limitations and worked with me in a way that still provided top notch care to my little man who is already feeling so much better! Thank you for helping Enki so he can run around, give all the kisses, work hard, and play just as hard.

Fantastic experience: My little Husky mix Ladybug had to have a cyst removed. We had an appointment for a week away but she scratched it and the bleeding got pretty bad so I called to see if I could come in earlier and have her checked out sooner. They had me come in that day. When Dr Trey walked in the room introduced himself, he had knee pads on he said so he could do this and he got on the ground with Ladybug and talked all soft and sweet with her and made her feel soooo at ease... I was so impressed with his "bedside manner" you don't normally see that with Dr's... By the end of our 10 minute visit he told me he was gonna do the surgery THAT DAY, because "she's probably uncomfortable... why would we make her wait any longer...?" I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! Not on my were these guys on the lower end of the estimates for price point by far, but they were TOP OF THE LINE FOR EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!! I still can't believe HOW FRIENDLY, CARING, and just plain AMAZING THEY ARE AT ST FRANCIS!!!!! THANKS AGAIN YOU GUYS!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Positive experience: The receptionist at this hospital deserves a raise. If it wasn’t for His friendliness, I would be giving this place a 2-Star rating. Veterinarian seemed a bit nervous with my 100 pound German Shepherd. Her hands were shaking during my pup’s exam. This place is accommodating. My pup is reactive so they immediately put my pup & me in an exam room. We don’t have to sit in the waiting room.

Fantastic experience: Amazing as always, no matter if it's just a tech visit for vaccines (like this one was) or seeing one of the doctors for an annual checkup or problem issue. We give them a 100% recommendation. Update: Our Experience with Dr. Cannon on 9/16/25 We wanted to add a special shout-out to Dr. Cannon, who is absolutely amazing and demonstrates a high level of empathy and skill. Over the last few appointments, she has taken the time to let our dog, Winslow, build trust with her, which he doesn't give out so easily. While he's still not too happy to be at the vet, when he sees Dr. Cannon, he no longer does a lot of barking and backing away. Instead of rushing the exam, she works with us—Winslow's humans—to keep him as calm and comfortable as possible. The first few times, we were holding things so she could look at his paws or open his mouth. This last time, Winslow was allowing her to touch him without problems (granted, Papa was holding him, Shelly was giving him peanut butter, and Momma was touching the body part first, but then Dr. Cannon joined and he didn't even care!). The fact that he allowed her to give him peanut butter after just two visits is a remarkable testament to her dedication to fear-free vet visits and her deep understanding of canine behavior. (This was visit 3 or 4 with Dr. Cannon over the last 1.5 years or so). The entire team provides the best customer service for both the humans and the doggo! 10/10.

Fantastic experience: I was a walk in didn't wait long. Big Mac doing better , Thanks !!

J H Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: I couldn’t get into my regular vet so I went here as a walk in. I had to wait 3 hours for my dog to be seen, which is expected for a walk in, but it was not worth the wait. My dog needed to be seen as soon as possible because she had an extremely swollen rectum and a foul odor with white discharge . For some reason these symptoms did not compute with the vet which was Dr. Cannon. I explained to her the situation, she took my dog back to do a rectal exam and express her glands. She came back and told me that there was no sign of infection and she had a “perfectly normal looking butthole”. I am not a vet but I know that swelling and odor are definitely signs of infection. I told her that my dog’s butthole is not normal and that is why I am here. She proceeded to talk to me like I was stupid. I’ve had my dog for 7 and 1/2 years and know when something is not normal with her. She asked me if I was thinking of her vulva, like I don’t know the difference between an anus and a vagina! I told her again, no her anus is swollen. She offered no solution because she thought there was nothing wrong and I asked about the foul odor and she replied that the odor is normal. So after 7 and 1/2 years of living with my dog there’s suddenly a foul odor and I’m just supposed to think that nothings wrong and that’s how life is goin to be from now on? I then explained to her that she hasn’t been jumping into the car like normal and climbing up instead. She started pulling on my dog’s hind legs and stretching them out. I had to explain to her that her legs are not the problem! She is not jumping in my car because she has a swollen rectum and is uncomfortable. This still did not register with Dr. Cannon. I had to ask her for any kind of solution and she said she could give me an anti-inflammatory and a probiotic. I said ok assuming that she knows what she’s talking about. The vet also talked very fast and I had to ask her to repeat herself a couple times. I have no idea why should did not mention an antibiotic! I administered the prescribed meds as directed and my dog ended up getting diarrhea and vomiting the next morning and so I immediately stopped the meds and her anus has gotten worse. This vet wasted 4 hours of my time, added on more hours of my dog being in discomfort and wasted 400 dollars of my money. I got into my regular vet three days later. My Dr. agreed that my dog’s anus was inflamed, did a rectal exam and found a bacterial infection and that my dog was having an autoimmune response to something. I was prescribed antibiotics and anti fungal wipes. I am demanding a partial refund from your clinic for the incompetence of Dr. Cannon. I will pay for the fecal screening but I want the remaining charges to be refunded immediately. The manager has not been available when I call and they have not responded to my message on the contact page. I strongly recommend taking your pet elsewhere for care.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Rachel Wertheimer and her team were incredible. We did not expect to find a place that will take care of Smokey so fast. Smokey is alive because of them. Above and beyond service. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: That diagnosed my dog correctly provided the exact medication she needed. Within two days in a huge improvement in her health.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my cat to St Francis ever since I ran into access issues with my previous vet during covid and I really love this clinic. Dr Wertheimer is incredible.

Corinne Holguin Posted on Google 7 months ago

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience with my dog who doesn’t like anyone/anything. They gave him his space but helped with his issues. Also gave options for treatments and advice for future visits. Will definitely return!

Stephanie Sells Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: My dog injured his tail, and so we took him to st Francis animal hospital urgently. We had his tail xrayed for $800 and were told he had a 80% chance of losing his tail, and that they highly recommended getting half of it amputated for an additional 3k. We declined, and his tail ended up healing up within a few weeks. The vet techs were nice, but we were displeased with the recommendations and after care suggestions. They also brought him back into the room fully sedated with no warning, which was a bit traumatic for me.

We acknowledge your concerns and appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback. We understand your disappointment with the recommendations and aftercare suggestions provided during your visit. We also regret that bringing your dog back into the room while sedated caused you distress. Your experience is important to us, and we will use your feedback to improve our communication and patient care processes. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, as it helps us enhance our services for all pet owners and their beloved animals.

Fantastic experience: They Gave perfect care to our child with lots of love, understanding of Ruff's needs in his old old age. They even gave us a discount on all the exam and vaccines.

Omario Ver Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: Went here only because they had same day appointments.Terrible service the Vet was nice but the veterinary assistant was so rude.Wanted to charge me so much money for something so simple and when I tried to break down the cost she gave me attitude.Save your money and go somewhere where they actually care about your animals and not the transaction.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Wood was thoughtful, thorough and compassionate. We are working to resolve difficult cat behaviors (inappropriate urination) and Dr.Wood gave us hope. I appreciate that after ruling out a UTI he did not immediately jump to drugging our cats.

Caroline Brooks Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: So I have a very old cat. Back in February took her here and they did blood work to check kidneys and other vitals and organs. I was stunned when I received a bill for almost $600.00. She hadn't been to the vet in a long time, healthy/indoor cat, so I thought dang how do people have pets anymore.. Fast forward, I am in St. GEORGE, UT helping my mom. My cat had another relapse so we took her over to my mom's vet. Due to her age, they said it's best to do bloodwork again. Great, another $600.00 bill, nope....125.00 for bloodwork, 55.00 for exam and 19.00 for medicine. ST.FRANCISE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! How low do you have to be to do this to grieving owners and their beloved pets. How many pets have suffered because the owners couldn't pay these ridiculous fees. Dang, disgusting thieves!

Fantastic experience: The doctors were wonderful and took so much time with me and my beloved very sick cat.

Chris Westmoreland Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: They are just too expensive. No matter what The bill is always about $400. My dog has an eye infection $400. My dog has no appetite and his diarrhea $400 when my dog was spayed the next day she was dripping blood from her sutures they charge me for that to bring her back in. That was messed up.

Fantastic experience: Our 100 pound Akita was biting & scratching herself raw. Her face was awful. We thought it was anxiety from losing our male earlier this year. We couldn't get in to any vet for a while. St Francis was suggested. They got her in the next morning. They were awesome. They diagnosed and we started treatment. Koko didn't want to leave. Thank you for helping her.

Fantastic experience: The staff at St Francis Animal Hospital are the most caring, most helpful vet staff I’ve ever dealt with. They saw my dog immediately when I brought him to urgent care. Their services are top notch and all the staff are so attentive and efficient and loving towards your pet. Now that I’ve been there for an urgent situation I am having them be my regular vet as well because I am so pleased with their care.

Fantastic experience: Unbelievably excellent first experience. We had been with another clinic for a couple of years, the vets were nice, but we decided to look elsewhere as they were almost impossible to reach via phone to schedule appointments and get prescription refills... it's not great to have to go to a physical address to get these things... not to mention if an emergency were to come up, uh, well you kind of want your vet to be reachable! Ok, so back to the reason our first visit was amazing... 1) answered the phone right away 2) scheduled us within a reasonable time frame 3) check-in was great, the room was made ready while my cat and I stayed in the car to avoid the sweet doggies in the lobby 4) staff was nice, thorough and patient with my wiggly cat 5) the doctor, can't say enough good things about Dr. Philip Wood. He was THOROUGH. 6) Dr. Wood gave as the knowledge that if you take your cat off their normal diet, put them on an iodine free diet they likely won't have to take thyroid medication anymore - just started, so fingers crossed! 7) we went in to see about getting injections for our cats arthritis pain... Dr.Wood gave us a care plan to try before moving to injections, which are spendy. The care plan MIGHT even be as effective as the injections so fingers crossed again. 8) Dr. Wood followed up with us first thing the next morning on specific questions we had that he wanted to research before answering. Feeling pretty grateful to have discovered St Francis/Dr. Wood!!! If you are considering switching vets or are anfirst time pet owner... I feel good about recommending this establishment:)

Fantastic experience: So relieved they could see us for two urgent care appts. The wait was a bit long, but we were there after hours and were just happy to be there. They took such good care of our kitties. They didn’t try to sell us a bunch of services we didn’t need. We will continue our care here. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: My little Chiweenie hurt her front left foot playing with that dang ball. Wasn't sure if she tore another ligament like she did once before with her rear acl. Came in and met with Dr Jessika who evaluated Kiana. Absolutely great doctor, staff is also extremely friendly. We got there just before 6:00, we are able to be seen that evening under an emergency circumstance. I will absolutely take either of my two animals to this place for any service I need. Thank you to the whole team

Fantastic experience: Top notch care. Top notch people. The competitive pricing is a bonus. I feel very fortunate having had the privelege of Dr. Mark Stanhope and Dr. Roland "Trey" perform my dog, Tucker's, first TPLO surgery in 2023. This year, Tucker's other CCL ruptured. While Dr Stanhope is sadly no longer with us, Dr. Trey is there and his recollection of Tuckers 1st surgery was vivid. He was professional, polite, and adjusted his schedule to accomodate a time that worked best for me. He performed the surgery alongside Dr Anderson (mobile vet). Both times Tucker was given exceptional care from three trained professionals with experience in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Anderson was very courteous, speaking with me for 25 minutes on the phone prior to surgery. After the most recent surgery, Michaela was also helpful in assisting me with getting Tucker into the vehicle and answering all my questions. I also want to shout out the staff in the front office who always greet me with a smile and make sure I have everything I need. Cam is always very attentive and happy. Having an injured or sick animal isn't pleasant, so its important to have a team of people that are. Absolute dream team. Thank you.

We're elated to hear about excellent care and service you and Tucker continue to receive at St Francis Animal Hospital. Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We're particularly pleased that Dr. Trey and Dr. Anderson provided exceptional care for Tucker's TPLO surgeries, and that Cam and Michaela, were helpful and attentive throughout your visits. We appreciate your kind words about our competitive pricing and our team's professionalism. Your trust in our care means a great deal to us, and we're grateful for your detailed and positive review.

Fantastic experience: I was already so pleased and impressed with this clinic, and today I met with veterinarian Mr. Wood (or ward?) anyways he is a newer vet to the clinic and I just have to say I absolutely love him! what a great addition! He was extremely Thorough and took time to set up a plan for my elderly dog and her needs moving forward. I left feeling so much better and at ease. Appreciate you!

Fantastic experience: We had to euthanize our dear girl Emma. The vets and technicians here, particularly Dr. Rachel Wertheimer, did everything they possibly could to help her and ease her suffering. Ultimately, there was nothing more to be done. I greatly appreciate both Dr. Wertheimer and Castellanos for their honest opinions and assurances that letting her go was the right thing to do. I also appreciate every vet tech involved with her care, and the love they showed her.

Kasara Lintner Posted on Google 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: I have come here over the years with various pets and seen multiple providers. Most recently I saw Dr. Wertheimer. Her knowledge and compassion made for a great experience. I hope to not be back soon but if I have to, I’m so thankful my pets are in good hands!!! Thank you for helping my sweet girl!

Fantastic experience: Staff and doctor Trey were all kind and thoughtful. I’d recommend to management to please pay employees more, as they are a bit understaffed. Very calm and professional experience for a first time visit for my cat. Waiting room and cafe were excellent as well.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency with my dog over a holiday weekend where my normal vet had just closed. I waited at another 24/hr vet over night before calling St Francis at 8am on a Sunday. My girl was seen right away by the only vet on staff and diagnosed with FCE within 2 hours and released. We’re still healing, but THANK YOU St Francis for seeing my little girl!!! 5/7/25: St Francis is our regular vet. They’re great with appointments. We’ve had some issues with paperwork getting confused, but they’ve quickly cleared the errors up to my satisfaction. I’m the most happy that my dog who’s getting older and vet scared of the vet has a technician who is SUPER PATIENT AND KIND. My dog looks forward to seeing her (Brittany sp?) and it makes the whole visit so much easier. Thanks again!
