Negative experience: I'm not to sure about this clinic when it comes to a price over a dog ear effection

Negative experience: False advertising prices online. I went in and was charged $140 for a visit instead of the $95 visit they advertise on their website.

Fantastic experience: The doctor was kind, patient and listened and the vet techs great. Good vet in the middle of the city!

Fantastic experience: Easy to navigate website for appointment making and a friendly and informative staff. They were honest about my outcomes which in this case were were less that I'd hoped for, but that had nothing to do with their relative abilities. Reasonably priced considering the location.

Fantastic experience: I took my cat mazda to urban animal’s urgent care for an upset tummy when our regular vet was closed. they took excellent care of baby, very thorough, efficient, and kind, and reassured me a lot as a nervous, new cat parent.

Negative experience: My husband scheduled an appointment for our cat, we’ve been going here for at least 4 years and haven’t had any complaints. However, when my husband went in recently they told him the appointment was only for a nail trim, and that if we wanted her to have an actual wellness visit it was 140$. They then told us you can’t even schedule wellness visits online, however that’s obviously not true if you log in. If you log in to the website, they only charge 95$ for exams with an appointment. This was super confusing and just plain irritating. At the end of the day, we trim our cat’s nails at home. Even though we were already there and had an appointment, we decided against the 140$ check up. This ended up costing us 40$ for a trim we didn’t need. Honestly kinda checks out as this place seems to prescribe gabapentin to every animal they can. Doesn’t make sense you are in the veterinary business and don’t know how to keep a cat calm. Still super disappointing to see they’ve turned into a scammy business, especially after being so affordable in the past. Won’t be returning if I can help it.

Negative experience: If you love your pet DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!! I have never seen a vet have less care for an animal and more care about hiking the price up for no reason. I have two dogs I have brought here and I will NEVER bring them here again. They do not care about the well being of the animals and that’s very clear! I brought one of my dog that had a paw issue and they “flushed out” the wound (over multiple visits and multiple different vets) with no improvement on the paw. Just to bring them to another vet in seattle months later after getting fed up with the lack of care and no results and then new vet flushed out the paw and my sweet dog has been back to perfect health. The vets only care about the money not the animal. They even went as far to tell us our dog may have cancer (with no explanation on to why they would assume that) and had a heart murmur after we got him texted multiple times and has no history of heart murmurs. Don’t bring your dog here!

Fantastic experience: Every time we’ve visited the walk-in clinic outside of our normal vet’s hours, our experience has been exceptional. We’ve been seen very quickly and the staff and doctors are all so friendly and compassionate. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Peterson took care of my kitty who swallowed a piece of string. She was reassuring, kind, and professional. I am so happy that she did a great job and that he’s going to be okay. The staff are excellent as well. Great place to take your pets!

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience possible. Front desk was wonderful and friendly. Vet tech was truly interested and took their time. The doctor we spoke with was amazing. She is incredibly smart and confident in her recommendations. We felt very well taken care of. Absolutely love this place I’ll be back and recommend to my friends and clients. They actually cared about my dog. Alex berry was incredibly helpful and compassionate and I feel fortunate to have found these wonderful folks. ❤️, Franklin (Chihuahua) and Lindsay and tomren

Negative experience: In response to the owner - second response: The referring doctor is listed on the paperwork for his biopsy, if you look. Your team told me "I have received Baxter's lab results back & it all looks very good. His kidney values are relatively unchanged since his last check; his thyroid level is normal. His fecal test was negative for any parasites. There are no changes to indicate an underlying issue, so it may very well be just some Gl upset, although I cannot say what caused it." and "We received the results of Baxter's lab work results and everything looks great. His kidney values are stable and relatively unchanged from the last check in March. Everything else is also normal. Hopefully he is feeling better since his visit on Friday!" Does this sound like your clinic said he was experiencing "progressing disease"? These emails are from March 24th and November 1st of the same year. "Everything looks great" does not indicate he was dying from a progressive disease or that he would be dead less than two months after his last appointment with you. Your inability to acknowledge your failure is disgraceful. First response to the owner: Thank you for replying. What I need is not sympathy but accountability. My review was not about grief — it was about negligence. Your clinic’s failure to identify or communicate life-threatening findings in Baxter’s bloodwork directly led to his suffering and death. Another veterinarian used the same results from your clinic to identify anemia, thyroid disease, internal bleeding, and infection — all of which your staff told me were “normal.” The cancer diagnosis was later confirmed by biopsy. You mention the pandemic and internal losses, but none of that excuses failing to review lab results or contact a long-term client whose pet was clearly deteriorating. That’s not an oversight; that’s a systemic failure of care. I hope you understand that this isn’t about a review being hidden — it’s about the consequences of your clinic’s inaction. Baxter deserved better. Your acknowledgment of that would mean far more than an apology without accountability. Urban animal hid this review from the public after I posted it when they killed my cat through negligence. Please view the emails and supporting documents. I am reposting this now since I learned they hid it. BEWARE. Do not trust this place. If you want your pet to have quality care and stay alive. STAY AWAY from this place. I am devastated. I have taken my cat here since 2013. In the last 6 months he has been twice and I have been to the office 3 times. During one appointment they neglected to take his weight. In every appointment they missed a GIANT mass in his abdomen, which turns out is cancer (see attached results from ultrasound - this mass was easily large enough to feel - I am not a doctor and I felt it). He had one appointment with a new vet who told me all new information: He has a thyroid disease. He has cancer. He has an infection. He is anemic. He has internal bleeding. This was all discovered after his appointment with the new vet on 12/11/2020. He had last seen Urban Animal on the 30th of October of 2020 and I had been in communication with staff about his health until November 24th. Urban Animal MISSED ALL OF THESE ISSUES. They told me "everything looks great". See attached emails. I knew he wasn't ok and called to make another appointment because he was clearly very ill. I left a message and they never returned my call. I found a new vet via a recommendation from someone who knows both clinics and am so grateful I did. If you want your pet to have quality care and stay alive. STAY AWAY from this place. After hundreds of dollars spent and lost on poor care, I have lost precious time I can never get back. I am devastated. Update: my cat Baxter died 20 days after his first appointment with the new vet - he was terminally ill and Urban Animal said he was fine - see attached emails. "Smart and Sensible" pet care failed me and my cat. They have never contacted me or replied to any reviews I have left about this.

Positive experience: Incredible end of life services that helped us say goodbye to our 22 y/o (2022) Edit/Update 11/28/2025: Last year (2024) we had a really rough visit and left a review about such. This year/our most recent visit went much smoother because in that time the clinic finally added appointment slots back. The way it previously operated with walk-ins only was a pseudo-same day appointment method that really didn't work, but actually having appointment slots has really helped the clinics walk-in experience. Our walk-in experience today was swift. The care we received was thorough, and we got the best answers and solutions we could for today's issues and very quickly through walk-in; I had almost set up an appointment but a catalyst made me try walk-in again and the process is smoother with their walk-in info up to date. We will probably schedule an appointment for our next visit for both of our pets shots and are looking forward to coming back to our preferred clinic. From 5 stars to 2 stars back up to 4 stars, this clinic is a really good one and the operations seem to be more efficient with appointments added.

Fantastic experience: We took my girlfriend's cat here in a bit of an emergency. They were able to get him in very quickly and were very kind and thorough. We ended up needing to be transferred to an emergency vet, but Urban Animal was able to transfer information so there wasn't repeated tests and save my girlfriend some money which was very kind. I would highly recommend this vet. My girlfriend will likely be switching to them fulltime once we get kitty healthy again.

Negative experience: I brought my dog in for a walk-in appointment on a Wednesday and was billed at urgent care rates. The total visit took nearly three hours, most of which was spent waiting in different rooms with no updates. The vet stated I would receive results in 48 hours. When that didn’t happen, I followed up and was told it would actually take 72 hours—on Saturday—but the clinic would be closed that day. I received results via email on Monday morning with no treatment plan or guidance. I had to repeatedly call and email to finally get next steps from a vet Tuesday morning. The medical team was polite, but the communication gaps, lack of clarity, and long delays made the urgent care designation feel misleading. For the cost and urgency of the situation, I expected more timely follow-through and clearer guidance.

Fantastic experience: We are beyond grateful to have found Urban Animal on Capitol Hill when our regular vet couldn’t fit us in. One of our cats had been struggling with constipation for nearly a week, and the situation was becoming stressful for all of us. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with genuine warmth and professionalism. Myjah and Lexi were exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable — not only with our skittish cat but also with our other one, who was examined as well. Dr. Gambino was thorough, sensitive, and clearly very competent. They quickly identified the issue (a significant buildup) and administered the right treatment, including an enema. They didn’t just solve the problem on the spot — they also sent us home with clear instructions and the supplies we would need to continue care if needed. What stood out most was how human the experience felt. We were seen quickly, treated with compassion, and left with both relief and confidence in the care provided. The facility itself is modern, clean, and well-organized — and an added bonus: they offer free parking, which is rare and very welcome in Capitol Hill! The experience was so positive it honestly makes us reconsider where we’ll take our cats in the future. Thank you, Urban Animal, for treating our little family with such care. Fantastic experience: While the White Center location is my "home" location, I have brought my cats here for ultrasounds and/or because it was easier/faster to get in than by home. I absolutely love everyone at the practice and feel very safe and comfortable with them treating my babies!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Urban Animal for over 10 years for my cat and large bread dog. They are phenomenally kind and helpful for everything from routine visits, putting down my sweet cat, and diagnosing a severe fungal infection and tumor in my dog's head. I was THRILLED when Dr. Peterson joined them as their Internal Medicine vet. Now they are able to provided even more types of care at their reliably high standard.

Fantastic experience: The BEST veterinary clinic I've ever been to with my shy/anxious dog. They understood she was treat motivated and worked very well with her. Although, it was the first appointment that I've had for her in her 8 years of life that was an urgent issue she's never had a better vet visit. Thank you Urban Animal Cap Hill!!

Positive experience: EDIT TO ADD: I received a call from UA, which I missed. They didn’t leave a voice message. I got an email saying they had seen my review, had an attachment containing my dog’s medical records, and wished me well finding another clinic. They have fired me as a client without hearing out my concerns. I really liked this practice. It’s very close to my house. They had later hours and were open until 10pm some nights. I had no complaints about the service I received with my animals. The prices are fair. The staff is friendly. They don’t allow you to make appointments, and instead have a first come, first served policy. Not my favorite thing and can mean long wait times (to a lesser degree downtown than Capitol Hill), but wasn’t a deal breaker because I liked them. Then the pandemic hit. Of course, their practices had to change, and this was very understandable. They greatly reduced their hours, not unusual as everywhere did— but they also stopped answering emails, and even their phone half of the time. Nor would they return phone messages. Their policies about bringing your pet to the clinic changed constantly (and still no set appointment times). I never knew if I would be able to get in. I have an aging dog in declining health, so this is a VERY big deal. I need a reliable vet. I have since found a general practice for my three animals elsewhere— I had to. Worth noting they also have covid practices in place but I can email or call them. If I can’t get through, I leave a message and they call me back. The convenience of Urban Animal being close to my house is moot if I can’t get my pet seen or even communicate with them about her needs.

Fantastic experience: Always great service and information even when they are very busy. As a former vet receptionist, I know how demanding the field is and there’s definitely a lot of passion and effort from their team to get things right.

Negative experience: Urban Animal has recently changed their pricing structure in an incredibly non transparent way, and I see I'm not the only one having this issue of late. Previously they were walk in only and offered something called a compassionate care discount that could be optionally applied to the bill. That, along with the fact that they were much lower priced, made Urban Animal accessible to low income folks such as myself. I came in for a yearly check up only to find out the walk in appointments, of which they used to only have, were now much higher priced than normal appointments. I explained my situation to them that I had specifically transferred the amount to pay for the appointment ahead of time from my disability account but they wouldn't budge and their only solution was to come in another day for an appointment. Since I have a disability this isn't super feasible, so I went along with it, literally in tears due to this at the appointment. Even worse, they did not disclose that the compassionate care fee had been removed until after the exam. I would not have consented to the exam at all had I known this. Despite this Urban Animal claims they have been transparent. The fact that me and others are making one star reviews suggest otherwise. When I emailed them about this issue, I got a defensive response saying they've done everything they can and linked to a blog post that supposedly explained the new pricing structure. It was a post titled "Appointments Now at Capitol Hill & White Center". You have to scroll down on that post to find some vague statements about the pricing structure changing. In addition no where in that post or on their website does it mention that the compassionate care discount was completely removed which I believe happened after this post was made, about 2 months back. What could Urban Animal have done to make this better? I don't mind that a business increases their prices to make their business sustainable. What I do mind is the lack of accountability, transparency and respect to the clients who relied on these services. I checked their website and called them the morning of the appointment. The website could have head a header on it explaining these changes. The person on the phone could have given me a heads up. Clients making their first appointment after the change could have gotten a one time credit applying the old compassionate care fee and waiving the additional cost for walk ins. None of this was done, and there was no accountability when I messaged them about it. They could have kept me as a client if any of these things had been done but they did not. It seems at this point that they are actively trying to lose clientele, perhaps to make walk in times shorter and less chaotic?

Fantastic experience: Though I do love their team and they do a wonderful job with my pets! I have been bringing my pets here for over four years. This is the only vet I trust for the care of my babies! I'm so appreciative of their care! **update: They now have appointments available! You can book over the phone or on their online portal. They also have walk ins available too!

Isabella Byers Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: I used to love visiting urban animal, but feel their standards have drastically dropped over the last few years. While most of their marketing touts affordability and compassionate care, their same-day exam/consultation fee has gone from $60 in June 2021 to $140 as of July 2025 (if a visit is scheduled, it’s $90). My medium-sized senior dog passed, and after bringing my now (much better mannered) giant breed, I no longer feel comfortable recommending this clinic to friends. It seems like some of their veterinary team is not comfortable with handling or examining the bigger dogs…

Jeffrey Almes Posted on Google 9 months ago

Positive experience: They were kind and respectful, my only complaint was the length of time I had to wait in the hotter than hell small office to see the actual veterinarian. Also, it felt like she was talking at me, rather than to me. I'm not great with properly socializing either

Josh Free Posted on Google 9 months ago

Negative experience: I really hated Urban Animal during the pandemic; and my biggest regret was not finding a better vet sooner. Some of the problems I faced were around booking things like a teeth cleaning for a pet with vet-A and then day-of vet-B saying it’s not needed and not performing the cleaning. Or the same vet-B euthanizing one of my cats and then a month later saying “nice to meet you” during a 2nd pets appointment in the same room the first cat was put to sleep. :-p. I don’t think this is a place to take pets if you want the best care. They will not receive it here. Please take your fur babies elsewhere where they’re more organized and can provide the care that they deserve.

Negative experience: ***PSA for Fellow Pet Owners*** If you're planning to visit Urban Animal’s Capitol Hill location for a walk-in appointment, be aware that the fee is $140. This is notably higher than the $95 fee for scheduled visits—information that is clearly posted online for appointments, but unfortunately not for walk-ins. I only found out about the difference after receiving my invoice at the end of my visit. The concern is the lack of transparency and inconsistent communication. Before arriving, I checked the website and my emails for pricing details. The most recent email (dated 5/8/25) referenced walk-in availability at the Capitol Hill and West Seattle locations but said nothing about price changes or dollar amounts. When I questioned the charge, I was told by a vet assistant that the $140 walk-in fee was listed online and had been communicated by email. Neither was accurate. While waiting for my pet’s prescription, I re-checked the email and confirmed there was no pricing information. To make sure I wasn’t missing anything, I asked the front desk staff for clarification. They confirmed what I had suspected: the walk-in pricing is not listed on the website, and while staff have raised this issue to management, it seems little has been done to improve clarity—leaving receptionists to deal with frustrated customers. As someone who has trusted Urban Animal for a few years—primarily visiting the Downtown location—I was disappointed by the shift in overall experience. I chose the Capitol Hill location for a last-minute visit due to my dog’s recurring seasonal allergies, a condition we’ve addressed before. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed a pattern where staff seem to make pet owners feel uncomfortable for returning about ongoing issues—even when follow-up is necessary for prescriptions or symptom monitoring. Pet owners shouldn’t feel judged for seeking care, especially when doing so out of caution and concern for their animals. I’ve always appreciated Urban Animal for its convenient and community-based approach. That’s why I’ve continued to support them over the years. But transparency is key to trust. As loyal clients, we deserve clear communication—especially when it comes to cost. I hope this feedback encourages Urban Animal's management to improve clarity around pricing and empower their staff with the tools to communicate it more effectively. Pet care is stressful enough—no one should leave feeling misled or undervalued.

Positive experience: I found their website confusing to try to make an appointment, but I didn't go. however, I have heard great things about them and I am eager to check them out. (Sometimes when a pet owner is distressed and worried about their pet, the last thing they can handle is making a new profile and filling out another online form.

Fantastic experience: We’ve always received great care for our cat here, grateful for the doctors and the staff. They do great work!

Molly Vernarecci Posted on Google 10 months ago

Positive experience: I've been bringing my dog to Urban Animal for several years and have always had a great experience with Dr. Peterson. She's very knowledgeable and someone I deeply trust with my pet’s care. If this review were based solely on her, it would be an easy 5 stars. That said, I was surprised by a significant price increase during a recent routine bloodwork visit, something we do about once a quarter at this clinic. In February, the appointment cost $127 ($35 technician fee + $92 for bloodwork). In May, that same service jumped to $195 ($40 technician fee + $155 for bloodwork) — a $68 increase in just three months. The visit itself was extremely quick, about 10 minutes total, which isn't a complaint, just different from previous appointments where I had the opportunity to speak with the technician and relay any health updates or questions to Dr. Peterson. I called afterward thinking there might have been a billing error, especially since I hadn’t received any notice of a price change through their email newsletter. The staff member I spoke with was very kind but basically said the increase was due to rising costs and employee wage adjustments. While I fully support fair pay and understand that prices can go up, the steep increase — paired with no advance notice or noticeable change in the service I received — was disappointing. I know Urban Animal sends bloodwork out to an external lab for analysis (which is common practice). If the price increase was caused by the lab increasing its prices, that also wasn’t communicated. Overall, more transparency about this before the appointment would have gone a long way. Dr. Peterson remains a provider I trust and value, but this recent experience has made me reconsider coming back to Urban Animal for routine care.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Vet Allison for taking care of my lil dude! I walked in this morning thinking I was going to lose my cat, but he's home happy and purring just a few hours later. Excellent treatment and work as usual from the rest of the staff at Urban.

Negative experience: Used to love this place. Came for a walk in and was told the wait time is 15 min. Waited over an over… I am stressed, the puppy is stressed. Not happy and not coming over. Sad. Just walked out.

Marian Monaco Posted on Google 10 months ago

Negative experience: The staff were very kind, but the overall experience was disappointing due to poor communication and lack of transparency. They recently changed their policy from accepting walk-ins to requiring appointments, but never sent an email or any kind of notification to inform clients about this change. We specifically asked if it was better to come back another day, since we were just there for routine vaccinations—nothing urgent—but they told us to wait, estimating 20–30 minutes. That wait turned into over an hour and a half, and we ultimately left without being seen. It would have been more respectful of our time to simply let us know upfront that we should return another day, especially since this was not an emergency visit. We ended up wasting two hours for nothing. Also worth mentioning: on our last visit, they sold us deworming tablets with an expiration label that had been overwritten to show July 2026. Fortunately, I double-checked and found that the actual expiry date was July 2025. I was planning to report this during today’s visit, but since I won’t be returning, I’d rather share this here to help other dog families be aware. There are many other vets in the area with great reviews and, hopefully, better communication and attention to detail.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency with my 15 year old big dog after relocating from NYC only two weeks prior. Not knowing anyone in town I called and told them frantically what was happening and they said bring her right in. We walked in they whisked my baby to the back and gave us a room (probably because I was completely hysterical). Someone came in quickly after to say its ok and they think shes ok even though the symptoms were so scary. The doctor saw my baby and explained her presumed diagnosis clearly and with a lot of patience. They were all so nice, accommodating, helpful, patient, knowledgable and swift. I cannot believe how amazing they were. Thankfully we hope my baby will see recovery soon, but the care they took for a brand new patient running in and the immediate attention was impressive. I certainly found my vet in town. If i could give them 1000 stars i would. Thank you so so much Urban Animal, you were so amazing to us during a really scary moment. Every single person at that location gave me thier support and I felt it. THANK YOU.

Positive experience: Wait times are atrocious. I went here right when they opened for an issue that couldn’t wait (a throat issue I discussed with the doctor when I was in two weeks ago) and had four people in front of me and was told it would be an hour wait. Cool. I’ve been here many times before and I was expecting this. … 2.5 hours later, still in the waiting area, and being told twice that “I was the next customer, we’re just waiting for a room” is pretty disheartening. Extra disappointing when you see 5 groups of people just come in and be accommodated (not all of them had appointments). I know it’s a busy day but I wish they were more honest about wait times seeing as I went in early specifically to avoid it. Had I known the wait time was gonna be this long I would have gone home first or something. Otherwise their services have been great (why it’s three stars and not one star). Would suggest to get an appointment if you can, and they seem to accommodate urgent care needs pretty well. For semi-urgent care though (the kind that needs to be checked out within the week/the kind of care that can’t wait for too long)? Might be better to go elsewhere for prompt service. I’d still go here again, just not for anything sem-urgent (they are boooked)

Aubrey Jones Posted on Google 10 months ago

Negative experience: Please update your system. There's a massive difference between "Accepting Walk Ins" and "It's a three hour wait". Especially since you don't take appointments and expect people to take an entire day off of work, a little respect for other people's time would be appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Love, love, love this place. They have such a caring and trustworthy staff. I moved out of Seattle years ago and continue to make the trek here. Reasonably priced and now they offer appointments

Victor Villaseñor Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: Terrible service. It had already been warned to avoid your clinic due to your questionable reputation. But the fact that a healthy, two-year-old pet died yesterday because of a substance you administered — and your shameless response claiming it wasn’t your fault — is unacceptable. What a coincidence: the animal was only there for a preventative treatment. A young, healthy dog dies just a few hours after the injection, yet you showed no empathy whatsoever. What’s even worse was the cold, arrogant response you gave, trying to wash your hands of the tragedy — as if your clinic weren’t responsible for this mess. *WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

Tiffany Rivera Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. My Worst Nightmare It has taken me a long time to write this review because of the immense emotional distress I’ve experienced due to Urban Animal — and particularly Dr. Nee — who, through negligence and arrogance, killed my cat. I brought my cat in because her breathing seemed labored. A technician — who repeatedly misgendered her despite my corrections — suspected heart failure and recommended x-rays. I agreed. While waiting, my cat was placed in a kennel with oxygen, and she seemed calm — unusual for her, as she normally hates the vet. I assumed the oxygen was helping. What I didn’t know, and wasn’t told at the time, was that they had sedated her with butorphanol (0.2 mg/kg) and acepromazine (0.02 mg/kg) via IV without my consent. I only discovered this later by reading the discharge notes. After about an hour, we were called into a room. That’s when the nightmare began. Dr. Nee told us — with complete certainty — that my cat was “riddled with cancer.” He claimed another vet had reviewed the x-rays and agreed with his diagnosis. This was a lie. That vet had not viewed the x-rays and had even told him she wasn’t a radiologist and couldn’t interpret them. He said my cat must have been in pain for a long time, and recommended immediate euthanasia. He insisted we couldn’t take her home, claiming that sending the x-rays out for a second opinion would be costly and time-consuming, and that she’d suffer in the meantime. What he didn’t tell me was that a rapid review would cost just $110 and take 45 minutes. He warned that no emergency vet would help on a Saturday, that chemo was out of the question, and that an emergency clinic would cost $3,000 per day — so, essentially, I had no other choice. Under pressure, and in total shock, I made the worst decision of my life. I agreed to euthanize my beloved girl. A few days later, I obtained the x-rays and asked a veterinary radiologist friend to review them. She immediately recognized the real issue: asthma. Not cancer. Not terminal illness. Asthma. The same condition I live with. Something treatable. To confirm, I sent the images to a respected board-certified radiologist in the Pacific Northwest. Her assessment? Also asthma. Zero evidence of cancer. I contacted Urban Animal to inform them of the misdiagnosis and the irreversible damage it caused. The clinic manager told me Dr. Nee would be terminated. Their patient advocate, Molly, was kind and helpful. Then the owner called me — and cried on the phone. She apologized, but also repeatedly said, “Well, she was still very sick.” No. She had asthma. A treatable, manageable condition. The owner didn’t mention any systemic changes — no re-education, no checks on individual vet autonomy. Just tears and denial. Today, I received the decision from the Veterinary Board of Governors. Dr. Nee was given a $1,000 fine, and ordered to complete four hours of continuing education on radiograph interpretation and client communication. That’s it. This is now on his public record — but in my view, it’s nowhere near enough for what he took from me. And sadly, this wasn’t my only negative experience with Urban Animal. Earlier, a different vet told me that my 1-year-old husky likely had a mass — possibly cancer — and I’d need a specialist. I spent the weekend in emotional agony thinking my dog might die. When the specialist arrived and finally reviewed things properly, it turned out to be urinary crystals — likely due to her not peeing properly. Something basic, that could have been caught had they just done their job or consulted someone more experienced. That visit cost me $410 and a weekend of panic. No refund. No apology. TL;DR: Urban Animal’s inexperience and lack of transparency cost me the life of my cat. If you love your animals, go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Best experience for the human and their patient. All my fur babies go to urban animal despite many options closer. These were the vets very willing to help despite the pandemic.

Fantastic experience: Urban Animal, and specifically, Dr. Peterson are the absolute best. Dr. Peterson is deeply compassionate and offered sound advice and care for our severely and chronically ill puppy. Our dog, Ailish only lived for 4 years and during that time Dr. Peterson was always able to help us to manage Ailish’s condition as best as was possible. We had to, in the end make a decision to let Ailish go and looked to Urban Animal to help us with this sad process. On that last day everyone at UA was kind and offered Ailish the care and dignity she deserved. Dr. Peterson was there to help her with this transition. We are very very grateful.

Negative experience: They did not access my puppy properly, and kept trying to pass off these episodes he kept having, as being either “Narcoleptic” and when I argued that was not the issue; I was then told that he was probably “Epileptic”. I again argued that was not the case…I also asked for a second opinion, and the “Vet” looked offended by my request. To shorten the story up they just took out money also some donated money, and sent us home with “Gabapentin” and told us they couldn’t get a blood draw. Then I realized that my poor little puppy who was yelping in the worst cry I have ever heard from an animal. At the end of the day we’re out of our funds, and my puppy still isn’t in good health. I will attach photos and videos so you can get a better picture.

Fantastic experience: Relocating internationally with my cats was an incredibly complex process, but Urban Animal's expertise made all the difference. Despite the roller-coaster journey, their team was exceptionally responsive and supportive, helping me resolve numerous issues along the way. Thanks to them, my fur babies made it home safely. I highly recommend Urban Animal as one of the best veterinary clinics in Seattle!

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my senior dog here since I moved to Seattle two years ago. Because of my dog's age I have been there over 20 times in that short time span, so I have a fair amount of experience with the practice. My dog, and I, have always been treated conscientiously and well. A few weeks ago he had to be put to sleep (he was 14.5) and the staff was compassionate, both to him and with me. As to the complaints about having to wait, it is a rare and so busy walk-in practice. In other words, first come first served. I always arrived about 1/2 hour before they opened and my wait times were then often either non-existent or very short. Try and get an appointment at any vet service in Seattle and it you will find it to be at least a few days if not a week or more.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been searching for a veterinary practice like this one that actually cares about the animals and their humans. I love the fact that they give you an opportunity to “pay it forward” to help other pet owners who cannot afford veterinary care for their animals. The business is staffed by capable, enthusiastic, engaged people. The veterinarians and their technicians are incredibly supportive, knowledgeable and efficient. I can’t recommend this business highly enough. Ten stars!

Negative experience: Inept customer service. Bad attention to detail, unreliable about notifying the owner about test results. As long as they’re paid for the test, why would they care about things like follow-through and health outcomes? There are some really good vets in the area. Take your pets elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Amazing care and a really knowledgeable vet. It's great to be able to walk in. Reasonably priced and they break down the pricing so you can choose exactly what's right for your pet. Loved the caring staff!

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here (and sometimes to the downtown location as well) for years, with multiple cats, and the experience has always been everything I could ask for. They were so, so kind when we had to euthanize a senior cat in kidney failure, and they've been great with every regular exam my cats have needed, too. I'll keep coming back for as long as I live in Seattle.

Fantastic experience: Staff were all super friendly, especially the front desk and tech staff. We were able to get a last minute specialty appointment off of their waiting list and were so grateful for this option. We appreciate their reasonable pricing structure and the option to give a little extra to help support lower income folx with their pet care.

Fantastic experience: This place took good care of my pet. They called me and checked up on her about two days after the visit. When I went in the wait was relatively short. Update: just came back for a quick nail trim and they took wonderful care of her. Quick and easy and super affordable.

Fantastic experience: Always have great experiences at this clinic. They are caring and compassionate to my two cats. A nice tip to be seen quickly is to get there slightly before opening!

Via Daniels-Fallis Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Just had to leave a positive review, took my baby at opening and he was in and out in 45 minutes. They helped me so much, and thankfully caught an infection early enough to treat with antibiotics I received on-site. Would recommend to anyone in a pinch with their pet!

Positive experience: 0 for the reception. I arrived this location 8:30am. The first thing that the receptionist told me when I walked in is the doctor will check with you later. This is my first time visited urban animal. The receptionist did not ask if I’m here for walk in or appointment. So I thought I just waited until doctor called me. After an hour and half wait, his other coworker came out and asked me if I’m here for walk in appointment, if so there is a form for me to fill out for check in. During the wait, the male receptionist just on his seat and did not check in with me after he told me to seated and wait. He pretty much ask everyone after me how can I help you. He’s very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. Best care I've ever gotten at a vet. My little Wasabi was well taken care of.

Fantastic experience: Urban Animal is a much needed walk-in clinic for our pets. They are very gentle in their demeanor and thorough with their assessments. Note: There are separate entrances for dogs and cats. These are marked by neon signs.

Negative experience: Two stars are only for the vet care which has been satisfactory. It’s difficult to really tell how good a vet clinic is if you don’t even get to see the vet on time, right? A month ago I brought my cat for aggressive behavior - was told to come ASAP because it’ll be empty. Notwithstanding the fact I don’t live close by, I left work, packed my cat in and got to the clinic in a half hour. There I’m told it’s a 40 minute wait…okay. I wait. About 35 mins later I go and ask the wait time, and it is - incredibly - still 30-40 mins! There are four people ahead of me who have somehow still not been seen. I was seen at an ER for MY health issues in less time than this place - on a busy weekday morning no less. What sort of a clinic has EVERYONE waiting atleast two hours? And they assume people live right around the corner and can afford to leave work for the whole day just to go wait fruitlessly. Atleast provide an online check-in facility so we can wait at home. Absolutely ridiculous. My cat (like most cats) gets so stressed on travelling outside, so coming in just to be added to the wait list, then sit 3 hours+ is sheer crap for the poor baby. I had to bring him in today again (AGAIN, I was called by the vet after some emails, I didn’t just go and stand there) - same story. Was told to come ASAP, somehow got there soon enough, then turns out they’re done for the day but could add me to cancellation. I still get added to the waitlist - it’s almost 7pm and I am not yet called. Why ask me to come in end of the day if there’s no availability?!?! It’s such a waste of time and my cat hasn’t even been seen.

Fantastic experience: They take great care of my cats, and enjoy their ridiculous names. Knowledgeable, helpful, explain things clearly without making me feel stupid, and they're affordable. Plus, my boys love everyone there. Update 11/18/24, when my old man cat (18yo) passed in the summer, in the UA clinic. They were very sweet about his passing. I took one of my other cats to get checked out they were kind enough to make sure not to put me in that room. They're so kind

Positive experience: 1st time here was recommended by my friend, who's a vet Tech for Pasados. My puppy ate something nit sure what so now she won't eat anything or drink any water. They gave her an appt for 4 this afternoon, 10/31/24. I live all the way in Tacoma. Hopefully, they won't be too expensive and will do payments for us. I'll give an update after the visit. Thank You.

Negative experience: Walk in’s is a serious issue. I walked in with my Pug for routine check up/ vaccination and I was told will take 30 min before someone will see us. I waited inside the waiting room area for over 30 min. I saw 3-4 dogs getting done with their visits and no one helped me. After 30 min another person checked in and they called her after 10 min of waiting. I asked the receptionist what’s going on here? has been more then estimated time and she reminded me they work on walk in only. When I pointed the person got help before me that checked in after me, I was told that is a technician appointment . What sucks is that I like the vets and i have been happy with treatment my dog got from there. The receptionist are what Causing the bed taste of that place. They seemed very busy chitchatting amongst themselves and to busy to care for people waiting.

Fantastic experience: Bringing a pet to the vet is always stressful but the people at urban animal were so lovely and did everything possible to make my cat as comfy as he could be. They were super responsive after the visit to my follow up emails and phone calls, and their prices are waaaay better than what I had been paying at a different vet office (that didn’t do as good a job). Even doing the walk in option didn’t take very long and the vet was willing to sit with us for as long as I wanted to ask questions and talk over options. I’ll keep bringing my lil guy here forever and never doubt that he’ll be taken care of.

Fantastic experience: My buddy, a 70 lb male pitbull ripped his nail out on his front paw and I took him here. Quickly saw us, took him back to look at him. Nice gal came out and said well , i cleaned it up for him and gave me recommendations on after care and I stated:how much do I owe you?? They didnt even charge me. I will be going back for all his care without a doubt. ON a side note, they took care of him before and also did a swell job. That was an emergency thing and required some serious stuff and attention! Friendly , kind staff with a positive vibe throughout the entire experience. Thank you!, Eric

Fantastic experience: I brought in my elderly cat for a visit. He had been sick for awhile and ultimately it was decided it was best to put him to sleep. Tyson was very affectionate towards the staff, which I hadn’t previously seen, especially considering he had been constantly howling earlier. The process was fairly straightforward. The vets were efficiency and extremely understanding. But I am also thankful that the whole cost was $285 with a keepsake included. Other vets in the area charged $600+ for the same procedure. It did take awhile to reach someone but ultimately I am glad I reached out to Urban Animal during this difficult time.

Fantastic experience: My pup has had consistently excellent and reasonably-priced care at both the Capitol Hill and West Seattle locations. He just had his first dental cleaning and I was super impressed by the thorough written and verbal reports I received from Daniel directly after the procedure. He also made a one-week post-op call to check in even though the procedure went smoothly. My pup is super sensitive to pain but recovered so quickly after his dental that I'm confident the Urban Animal vet staff were gentle but also thorough--his teeth are so white it's almost like that Girls5eva episode. I'm so grateful for UA!

Fantastic experience: I came here to have a vet see my puppy, Leo. We were treated with courtesy and compassion. You can tell they really love animals. They also have a program that helps low income people to pay their vet bill. I'm very grateful for them.

Negative experience: Worst Vet Experience of my Life I've had dogs for 23 years of my life and this takes the cake for the worst veterinary care I've ever experienced. I have three dogs. It's also the most expensive- I've spent over a thousand dollars on my three, healthy puppies in the past six months and I am not going back! We had our first appointment this past Spring and it cost over three hundred dollars for the initial appointment. That was the only time there that went normally-- I also had to wait for around an hour. After that, there was constant confusion and long waits. The vet said we should test their poop to make sure they are healthy and have me one poop tube and told me to put all the dogs' poop in the one tube and bring it back. I did that. They texted me saying a prescription is ready to pick up and someone left me a short vm saying the dogs have Giardia and to come get the treatment. When I got there, I had to wait over a half hour to get the prescription for the three dogs even though I got a text saying it was ready. Every single time there, there was confusion about me having three dogs and they never had the supplies ready and always made me wait 30-60 minutes due to this error, just to pick up meds. I did the Giardia treatment exactly as instructed and tested their poop again. There was confusion about testing the three dogs poop in one tube. I had to repeat this process four times because the treatment was ineffective. One of the vet techs said to come back and get the next treatment for it not working sooner. But I also was told to wait three days before getting their poop tested again. So, I asked if they can just give me more days of the treatment so it would be more likely to work and I was told no. The fourth time, they gave me two meds but again messed it up but they messed it up twice this time. The fourth time, we had to wait 45 minutes to get their prescription although we were told it was ready and they when we (my assistant) got it home, they filled one med for the three dogs and the other med was only filled for one dog. I told me assistant to go back. No time did we have to wait under thirty minutes! The treatment was ineffective again. Now they sent me an instruction sheet and an article. The place needs to get sued for scamming me and wasting my dogs and my time. I should have been playing outside with my puppies this Summer. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE The words for this place are disorganized, expensive, and ineffective and the worst communication. I also asked for a discount after the fourth time and was told no. What should have happened- the meds should be ready for the dogs when they say they are. They should have given the stronger treatment on the second time, not the fourth. They should give written instructions and product recommendations the first time, not after the fourth time. No time did i get written instructions….. i should have left in the first hour sitting in their waiting room. My assistants (40-50 and hour) and i have spent hours in that waiting room. I should have left before the first appointment when they had me waiting for an hour. They will take ALL your time and money and your dogs will be the sickest they’ve ever been. Do not go here.

Fantastic experience: highly recommend the amazing staff at urban animal!!! they are not only so compassionate and hardworking, but make such an active effort to follow up and answers all questions i have (and quickly!). my sweet dog had to have emergency pyometra surgery, they were able to get her in the next day, and took such good care of her. they’ve been following up, helping me and her through this stressful, recovery time. urban animal, you are truly amazing. i cannot thank you all enough. i’ve had many experiences with other vets, and there is nothing that compares to the care and love my pets receive here. i will always recommend people to take their pets here. from reception, to techs, to doctors, to kennel staff, to assistants, thank you all.

Fantastic experience: Had to take my new kitten to urgent care because she was showing signs of possible eye infection. I was put on a wait list and they were kind enough to let me get texted an hour before i was next in line because I have to take a bus to get there. Once there I was seen very quickly and all the staff was super nice and talked me through everything they planned to do and what they were looking out for. they Also showed me the expected amount for the visit before hand during the visit. If I'm ever required to visit Urgent care again, I will definitely be visiting this place as it was a great first experience as the new owner of a kitten!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Young and staff are fantastic! Dr. Young updated me at every step of the way as more diagnosis and results were available for my pet's emergency condition. Dr. Young explained every detail in a clear way that I could understand. Dr. Young helped me make smart decisions along every step regarding further diagnosis and treatment to get my darling Preciosa (cat) back to full health!

Negative experience: Difficult to get reliable service. I came over an hour before close and got turned away. I also, a few years ago, had them insist my dog had ingested marijuana despite me insisting that was impossible - I was the one, after looking at her vaccine records, realized that it clearly was a bad reaction to one of them. When I called them about it they still didn't handle the situation well and were rude to me about it. I've gone to them for years and wanted to give them grace but after driving for 30 minutes, taking 15 more to get parking and then being told they couldn't take my animal, I'm over it. Fortunately I was able to find a better vet that same day.

Negative experience: Edit/update - avoid Vet Michael J. Light. After being contacted by management I have adjusted to 1 star. My cat is increasingly getting better after an antibiotic injection on Tuesday. X-Ray image revealed his very inflamed GI tract with liquid and gaseous bloating in his intestines. his physical had been unremarkable, just as it was at Urban Animal Clinic. as I wrote before I told them my cat is stoic and does not display pain. The vet took what happened last week seriously, and my cat being without food or water for 5 days as high concern. 5 days, we went to Urban Animal Clinic on day two. 5 days an infection was allowed to progress in my cat. 5 days I had to force fluids into him. I gave a lot of details to both vets regarding recent events and relatable past events that led to infections or surgeries. The vet we saw Tuesday validated my concerns and acted quickly, knowing either an infection or obstruction was incredibly likely based on my descriptions and recall. Management reached out as if they wanted more details to handle the issue internally. Instead she tried to rationalize everything. She contined to blow off the severity of the situation, and ignore not only what I as the sole provider of my cat for 12 years could easily recognize as abnormal behavior indicating his ill health, but also my own education level in healthcare based on profession. It seems management continued to try and gas light me into accepting the unethical treatment my cat received. I'm so incredibly disappointed with every step of this process. I hope no one's pet is ever put in danger by such an cold, unethical, and unaccountable approach again. "3 stars because the first time I had a better experience. This time around, not so much. My cat was displaying breathing issues, vomiting, gagging, lost his meow, and quit eating/drinking what appears to be rather suddenly. I went through the process, got him in to be seen. Explained how stoic he is and typically a problem is only known once it is a need to tend to now issue. He was given a physical exam and I was given a shrug of "not much we can do, of it gets worse come back." Told it was suspected to be laryngitis. I was even told there aren't bacterial cultures you can test for a respiratory infection. They gave him fluid and anti-nausea medicine. Funny enough there are a plethora of vet blogs addressing kitty laryngitis, with treatment regimens and testing protocols. Anti-inflammatory medications, pain medications, known viral and bacterial agents to cause infection. I know this clinic has the resources because they were able to do full testing when we first came earlier this year due to GI issues. The clinic had quite a wait that day and by the time we left there wasn't anyone in the waiting room. It honestly seemed we got a vet who had been maxed on capacity and a shrug was all they could muster. They did offer to do blood work, looking in his chart and seeing it had been done previously. This was because my boy has urinary issues and it was time for his annual so I asked them to run the labs while doing the GI testing. It seemed almost a mockery - "we could check his liver, he could have underlying diabetes..." I was baffled and asked how that could be associated with his breathing and voice and he said it wouldn't be. It came off like I was being over dramatic about my twelve year old cat I've had the entirety of his life and can tell when a huge change takes place in his body and state of being. Needless to say I am getting a second opinion and picked up some over the counter options recommended by vet blogs regarding upper respiratory issues in cats. Thanks for taking my money and doing nothing to make sure my cat is safe. I'm not going to blast the vet online because I know they will look up my name, but I won't be returning nor recommending this location at risk of him being the one I or someone else See's again. If you have to pay more than one vet bill just to get diagnostics you might as well go to the animal hospital and pay the high price."

Negative experience: If you don't value your time, this is a great place to do business. My beef is not with the care I have received. Everyone is competent and caring. My beef is with the asinine walk in system that they arrogantly say is working great, when it's not. They claim that their website gives a view of wait times. It doesn't. In fact, they don't even try. Twice I have looked at the site, headed over based on what I see there and been told they are not accepting walk-ins. Twice I have been advised of a wait time and been told later that the wait time is going to be much longer. They do not answer the phone so I had an emergency with my pet during business hours and tried to call and see if they'd see my bleeding, vomiting pet ASAP and since no one answered I went to urgent care. Again, great care if you can get in to see anyone and you don't mind being wasting time trying to get in or wasting time waiting only to end up waiting more.

Negative experience: Urban Animal is a very convenient practice because you can walk in whenever you need. Dr. Light, the vet I originally saw, provided excellent care and this review is not about him. If it was *just* him, I'd give 5 stars. HOWEVER, I have had nothing but major issues with the operational efficiency of this place: Lack of Knowledge Front desk staff members have, on multiple occasions, shown an demonstrated lack of ability to use whatever software they choose. Not Bring Prepared When I had to bring my dog in again, another vet saw him but didn't even read the notes thoroughly and also collected a swab for testing without even informing me of it. Additionally, when I was told to bring my dog in for a surgical procedure between 7am and 7:15am, there wasn't even a staff member there to open the door and then the staff who did end up doing the intakes needed help finding dog in their system. Inability to listen I have to repeat myself so many times because it seems that they just don't seem to just get what I'm saying. This has happened with more than one person and it's infuriating to deal with. Refusal to Accept Feedback You should never hear the words "that's just the way we've always done it" and "we're not right for everyone" from a business. These amount to nothing but excuses to ignore feedback. This, ultimately, is the single worst thing about this place. Billing Issues Their policy is to send labs only after collecting payment. This is a backwards and hostile policy, especially if I have to WAIT for a manager because the front desk doesn't know how to process the payment to begin with. Send me a damn bill. I want to finish up continuity of care for the specific issue I'm bringing my dog in for, so I'm willing to change my review based on the rest of our visits. But as it stands, I have no plans to go after this is done and you should all be aware that when things don't go well, they really don't go well. Update: a front desk staff member hung up on me when I was trying to get the contact information for the owner of the practice. Even getting her name was next to impossible. The owner, Cherri Trusheim, is impossible to get a hold of and the staff kept diverting me to the client liaison. I will write another update as I have found a way to contact Dr. Trusheim, something that Urban Animal was not helpful with at all.

Negative experience: I had the worst customer experience ever at this location. My dog had some cough and I was asked to wait outside of the clinic. The wait time was over an hour long. There were only two people sitting in the lobby. Everyone was at least six feet apart. I don’t see human hospitals asking patients who cough to wait outside of the hospital. Like what the hell is this? I will never go back to this place ever again.

Fantastic experience: Urban animal Capitol Hill has been amazing. I brought my puppy to them initially to establish care of vaccinations and her spay; I never expected to have to seek veterinary care for a broken leg at 4 months old! They took great care of her and helped our family feel at ease. I drive 20 miles one way to go to their clinic. The front desk staff have shown incredible professionalism in difficult situations while I’ve been in the lobby (especially Raquel!).

Negative experience: They were kinda rude and my daughter brought her cat there which they did unnecessary tests for "pre neutering" which we had never heard of, and it was at least three times more than anywhere else that she ended up getting a second and third opinions on. Overall, they are substandard in my opinion based on the fact that they are the only vet in that particular area and know it; which is really stupid these days for any kind of business! They basically got $215 out of my daughter for no reason and we will never go back!

Fantastic experience: I would give them 10 stars if available!! Urban Animal went above and beyond and this means a lot especially in a time of loss. I want go give a shout out to the staff, front desk gal, (I think Melissa), the practitioner and the Dr. who soothed and eased a very difficult day for our beloved Kamiel and family. I am so sorry I don't have their names but I hope you know who you are because I am sooooo very-very thankful!!! 20 years our beloved Kamiel was with us and he passed Monday, 4/15/24 and will be forever with us in Spirit. I highly recommend Urban Animal for their expertise, great compassion, kindness, attentiveness, support and professionalism. Thank you again as we couldn't have moved through as gracefully as we did without you!!! Peace, Gratitude and Blessings! A&G

Fantastic experience: Long story short: our elderly dog had a cyst rupture Sunday morning. The emergency vet wanted $3000 for his surgery! We decided to look around for another option after being charged way too much for no help at the er vet. We were referred here and we can’t rave enough about the staff here at Urban Animal in Capital Hill! They got us in quickly, were very compassionate and professional and helped us plan out his best course of action for healing. All costs were discussed up front and he received everything he needed to prepare for surgery. We will be taking all of our pets here from now on for their needs. Thanks again Urban Animal!

Fantastic experience: I love them, they compassionate, they explain how to care for your animals in layman's term so you'll understand perfectly what to do and not do for your pet. Every worker they have helping you is very nice, polite, curtious, and caring and will go to any length to help your pet live a full, healthy life. Thank you. May God bless each of you, Dr's, technicians, medical assistance, and receptionists for making my pets happy and healthy and stress free. ‍ ‍ Sincerely The Young Family

Fantastic experience: Our cats get really good care here! The vets and staff listen to our concerns and answer our questions thoroughly. They are very gentle and patient with our cats and respectfully give us suggestions to keep them healthy. One of our cats takes a medication and the pharmacy is super quick with getting refills when we need it.

Fantastic experience: This Vet Clinic is absolutely amazing. They made a very tough decision a little easier for me by letting me know this was the best decision for him due to him having bone cancer. He went to sleep in peace with no pain. It was very quick. I'll never forget this moment and how they treated us! Thank you for taking care of my baby Doc.

Fantastic experience: Took my aged cat, Matilda, to have her ingrown toenail clipped. Really friendly staff and less expensive then I thought.

Fantastic experience: Went to Urban Animal Capitol Hill location for the first time last week. I was initially nervous because I have a rescued terrier who can be reactive to other dogs and since this location does not take appointments I knew we may have to wait amongst other dogs. Had a better experience than I expected! Parking was available in the attached garage and the office wasn't busy yet by the time I went on a wednesday morning so I did not have to wait long for a room. There was a bit of a wait for the DVM but I have never been to an office without a wait so it was to be expected. Took a little over an hour total from the initial paper work to exam and vaccines and check out. We saw Dr. Schmid who was very efficient and competent! She even took the time to go over various vaccines and medications with us which was much appreciated. I even got a follow up email from Dr. Schmid regarding the medications we discussed. All in all, I enjoyed being seen by Dr.Schmid and will be returning for continued follow up!

Fantastic experience: I will leave a more detailed review in the coming weeks. Urban Animal saved my cats life, and I couldn't thank them more. My cat needed a PU surgery and they not only fit me in for surgery but have been helping me day and night with the recovery process. My Grimmo thanks you, and you and your staffs will forever be in our hearts.

Fantastic experience: They took great care ogmf my dog when he was bit by another dog. They were caring and understanding and did everything possible to help us regardless of our lack of finances. They put his health first and we work the details out later I have never in my life had any other place be so kind!

Negative experience: vet care is averagely good, nothing to write home about. However, they charge you for small things, won’t send you home with needed items after an expensive visit; would rather charge you for something that should be included in their fees. show little sympathy, prices are too high for service provided, and tack on additional arbitrary fees.

Fantastic experience: Urban Animal is absolutely fantastic. They’ve been the primary vet for my cat and two dogs for almost 9 years now. I have always felt listened to. They take care of my dogs with such love and care, and have made notes in their file with the tiniest little details about them that reflect how seriously they take their jobs, and just how amazing the staff is. Also—my dog has needed two surgeries so far (one which they performed, and another where they gave me a referral to a specialist) and they have been absolutely understanding and wonderful working with me and helping me to understand the expected costs. I am so grateful for the incredible staff at Urban Animal every single time I’m there and recommend them to every local pet owner. Thank you so much for doing what you do!

Fantastic experience: My 1st exp. I went into Urban Animal Capitol Hill in 3-days of tears, bc, I had Lil finances to work with. My poor cat suffered from dental need, his face was swollen, he couldn't eat, drooling, I thought he was going to die, I found some unused CLAVAMOX from my other kitty's past dental care. Where they [vet] pulled my other kitty's teeth. & it worked but still drooling took place. When I was told to bring in my kitty I immediately took him in, Vet. Bridgette Sharpe, saw my kitty, and stated her concern was his wheezing, so before the dental took place, I ended up getting my loving kitty an ECO EXAM @ $625.00. AFTER PAYING 1ST EXAN OF 500.00. NOW DENTAL CARE WILL TAKE PL, POSSIBLE ESTIMATE COST $900.00-$1500.00. my kitty's murmur is still occurring with a lot more HACKING, RELEASING AALIVA THATS NOW TURNING GREEN?. I O OW VETS SAID, HE OLD, BUT I HAD MY COOPER BABY WHO LIVED TIL HE WAS 27 YO +. COOPER DIDNT WANT TO LEAVE ME. I CRIED AND CRIED BUT I FINALLY TALKED W/COOPER, SAYING IT WAS TIME TI SEE HIS OTHER FAM. TITE THEN. I SEEN HIS SPIRIT LIFTING, & COOPER WAS GONE... IVE RAISED 10 CATS @ ONCE. IVE FED 79 STRAY CATS FOR 45 YRS. NOW I LOVE CATS & ALL ANIMALS, I JUST NEVER, TOOK OTHERS MONEY TO LOVE ALL THE PETS I HAVE. I WORKED 14YRS. @ 1-COMPANY, 16 YR, @ ANOTHER, -15 YRS @ ANOTHER, TO HELP W/ MED ATTN STRAY CATS NEEDED. TO PAY FOR THEIR FOOD N WATERS NEEDED. NOW MOST CATS I ATTENDED TO PASSED, BC THEIR LIVES ARE SO SHORT LIVED. MOST KIT CATS I CARED FOR WERE ALL ABANDONDED BY PPL. WHO AFTER KIT CATS WERE GROW'G, THE OWNER STOPPED CARING, OR JUS MOVED AWAY! SAD.... IM NOW A SENIOR, I HAVE 3 CATS, & WHENEVER I NEED MED ATTN FOR THEM, I RECVD BILLES STARTED FROM 500.00-1600.00, NEVER JUST RECV HELP.

Fantastic experience: They always take such good care of my dog at Urban Animal. The prices are very reasonable for the area. I like that if there’s a long wait to be seen, I can leave and they’ll send a text when it’s time to come back.

Negative experience: Honestly this place made me feel like I had no options for cat to receive medical treatment. That the only option at the end of the day was to surrender my pet to them. Ended up taking my cat to get surgery else where, where they were willing to work with us. We will never be returning to urban animal

Fantastic experience: Seeing the vet here has always been so simple. I love that they show the wait times online so you can plan accordingly since it's by walk ins only. The vets all seem to truly care about my dog's issues/checkups. The visits never took longer than an hour. I also really appreciate the fact that I can always call them for further questions and clarifications on any prescriptions/treatments I needed for my dog.

Negative experience: My dog has came here a few times and has always been fine. She's a German Shepherd puppy She barks a lot. She's friendly with people and other dogs. She goes to doggie daycare and has never had a complaint. She is trained. And has never been aggressive in public or At home with people or animals. And now This Vent clinic Wants my dog to be on doggy downers. Because she's aggressive, they say. But other people and doggie Daycare say she's not Aggressive. She also walks around without a leash on my side. And everybody gives her attention never bit or snapped or anything to anybody. If it was my choice, I'd put 0 stars.
