Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this place! This hospital saved our pooch’s life once when his digestive system shut down after swallowing a massive chunk of chew. It was quite scary. They also managed to kick start his organ functions without a surgery. This time we took him there with a fear of tumor growing in his paw. They took at-most care of him while removing a cystic tumor. It was benign. After receiving multiple quotes for the surgery from different hospitals, this hospital gave us the best price. Thanks to Dr. Goraya for a successful surgery. All the doctors were kind and patient. Our dog got friendly with Kristen because of all the loving belly rubs he got. Sarah at front desk was very friendly and empathetical. I am amazed with all the care that the team tries to give us while seeing so many pets in pain everyday. I cannot imagine the amount of heartbreaks they have everyday and also be on the receiving end of angry pet parents because of how sad and frustrated they are to witness their pet babies in pain. Some of them even pass away which is very painful. They still pick themselves up and move on to taking care of more pets. They are all pet lovers and want to save all the pets that walk in.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We're so glad we could save your pooch's life and successfully remove the cystic tumor. We're also happy to hear that you found our prices to be the best. Dr. Goraya is indeed an excellent surgeon, and we're delighted that you appreciated the kindness and patience of our doctors. Kristen will be thrilled to know that your dog enjoyed her belly rubs, and we're glad that Sarah made a positive impression at the front desk. It means a lot to us that you recognize the care and dedication our team puts into their work, even amidst the challenges and heartbreaks we face daily. We truly appreciate your understanding and support!

Fantastic experience: We called South Seattle Veterinary Hospital as soon as our local Veterinary Clinic told us our cat had an obstructed bowl and needed emergency surgery. Our Doctor was not able to perform the surgery and suggested calling around to find another place who could do it immediately. I called and was given the most reasonable price range for the surgery and they were able to get us in immediately. Upon surgery they found out our beloved cat had tumors, one that were inoperable. They gave us options and explained everything in great detail. Due to the aggressive cancer, we decided it would be best to put our baby down. The Doctor cleaned our baby up and woke her from surgery, so that our family could come and say our final goodbyes. It was extremely difficult for our family but the staff and Doctors were amazing and compassionate towards our unfortunate situation. They allowed us time to sit with our cat and grief for as long as we needed. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend South Seattle Veterinary Hospital. We live in Snohomish County, so this is over an hour away from home for us. But, I would go back there in a heartbeat, over and over again if ever needed in the future! Cannot thank them enough!

Negative experience: Avoid this place they will try to kill your animal if you wont pay their over price bills. I took my cat in yesterday they wanted $2K or they said they needed to put him down. Took him to banfield he has Heart disease and needs to take medicine for the rest of his life. Completly manageable.

Negative experience: LESS STARS IF I COULD - BEWARE - none of these surgeons are accredited/certified by ACVS!! I had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes to be seen after I made an emergency appointment, the surgeon walked in and didn’t even look at my cats X-rays of his broken femur joint and immediately said he could do surgery right away. {he needed the removal of his femoral head joint}. I felt very weird energy and a seemingly complete disregard or care for my cat, and I made the mistake of voicing I was a little apprehensive at the rush and lack of looking, especially because of the reviews I’ve seen on here. He started berating me, questioning why I came if I saw the reviews {I was getting multiple surgery quotes the same day, I like to check out the environment/hear their plans first}, he then looked at my profile created that day and told me that because I was #230,xxx, so why do I even matter, why do any reviews matter? Not everyone makes reviews, and I hadn’t made one since this happened over a year ago, I just feel like people deserve to know they hire surgeons with no valid national accreditation and seem to be only about money and getting as many animals through + their owners money a day. Please be aware, I would suggest doing quotes at other places and staying away. Those surgeons don’t give a crap about our fur BABIES. <\3

Fantastic experience: We were using another vet that was only open Monday-Fri during business hours. We started coming here when our cat needed care on a weekend. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have always done their best to meet our needs. Each doctor I’ve met has provided high quality care and communicated very clearly, patiently, and professionally. I’ve never felt rushed even when I was asking a lot of questions. Their pricing is also very reasonable—not cheap, but less expensive than another vet hospital I’ve encountered that did not provide as good care (IMHO). Wish I had started bringing our pets here years ago.

Fantastic experience: They took such great care of my dog when she was hit by a car and her femur snapped. Every other vet I called wanted over 10k for the procedure. While it was still expensive here I was able to use care credit and get help with the costs and they were so caring for my dog. There was also another incident a couple years after when the same dog had an abscess on her face above her eye. Another vet i took her to did absolutely nothing to remedy it so i brought her back here and they fixed her up perfectly! Cant recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: I have brought my cat mochi here many times over the last year. I keep coming back. You can expect excellent customer service from the front desk, competent doctors who listen, and show care for your pet and family. Mochi has CKD , diabetes, high blood pressure, and I don’t trust her with any other vet! Dr. Goraya is very skilled, an incredible surgeon, and always makes me feel heard when I share any and all concerns. They have a great service where you can text or call any time even after your visit. Additionally I love that theyre open 24hrs a day, if your pet stays here you’re always in the loop. Best of all they have the best prices in I’ve found in Seattle. Vet visits can be so expensive but you can trust you’re getting the best care for the best price here.

Negative experience: Ordered medication online for the first for my dog because it’s cheaper online. Waited for it to be approved by the vet. Then a couple days later the order was canceled because the vet changed the quantity to 1 tablet, So we have to start the process over. I called thinking if at least hear a sorry for the mixup or a few day supply to make up for the mishap. The lady who answered the phone was rude l. I asked to speak to a vet she put me on hold for almost 20 minutes then hung up.

Negative experience: TPLO is NOT an emergency surgery. My dog tore his knee ligament on a Sunday afternoon. I went here as my regular vet was closed. They said they would keep him overnight and perform the surgery first thing Monday. I have learned since that it is common to send a dog home with pain meds to give the owner time to plan and arrange for such a serious surgery. My dog unfortunately developed an infection 2 weeks post surgery. Over the next few weeks this vet placed him on different antibiotics. As a result my dog developed a multi drug resistant staph infection. The dog version of MRSA. I took him to an orthopedic specialist and he is now on a very strong antibiotic. We are hoping to clear the infection enough for the bone to heal. Then he will need a second surgery to remove the metal plate in his knee. My dog was sent home from surgery with only gabapentin for pain. I have learned this wasn't nearly enough pain medication for my dog. He has had a very rough road to recovery. At 10 years old I feel awful that he has had to endure so much pain. Please, please, please, do not take your pets here. And under no circumstances allow them to operate on your pet.

South Seattle Veterinary Hospital
South Seattle Veterinary Hospital

We are very sorry to hear about your dog’s complications and understand how distressing this has been. Our goal is always to provide the highest standard of care and support during recovery.

Post-operative care is critical for any orthopedic procedure. According to our records, your pet was able to lick at the incision after the cone was changed to a soft collar, and activity restrictions were not fully followed. Even with appropriate care, infections can occur, but these factors can increase the risk.

When concerns arose, we offered a complimentary recheck and recommended cultures to guide the most effective treatment. We sincerely hope your dog responds well to his current therapy and wish him a full recovery.

Fantastic experience: Thank you team, for your compassion and bravery to do what you do. We brought our dog in on emergency, and she wasnt going to make it out. And we knew it. And when she did pass, you all treated her and us with deep respect and love. And even when you had to conduct business, you still maintained humanity. Thank you for helping us through one of the most difficult times in our life.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share these kind words. We are deeply sorry for your loss, and we’re honored that you trusted us with your sweet girl during such a heartbreaking moment. Saying goodbye is never easy, and our goal is always to care for our patients and their families with dignity, compassion, and respect, especially in moments like these. Please know that she was loved, and that love was felt by our entire team. Our hearts are with you, and we’re wishing you comfort and peace as you navigate this loss.

Negative experience: We had a tragic and horrendous experience here with our sweet pug after a traumatic accident that resulted in her needing to be put down. The bedside manner of both doctors was horrific and lacked compassion all around. A cold, stark approach to vetinary medicine. The only exception was Kathleen at the front desk, who treated us kindly and compassionately. The first doctor refused to look at me or acknowledge my existence, only addressing my husband. He didn't give me any opportunity to ask my questions. Both doctors tried to tell us to "wait it out" and see if she "bounces back" and wanted to charge us $2000 to keep our 16 year old pug with a severe back injury overnight for "observation." Meanwhile, she was flailing, screaming and crying out in pain, even after being pumped full of morphine. We couldn't allow her to suffer like that, though the doctor discouraged our immensely emotional decision. We are traumatized from the whole experience. Upon our sweet girl's passing, the doctor coldly said "shes gone. You can leave her on the metal table and go to the lobby." I refuse to ever leave my sweet girl's body alone on a cold metal table and walk out. We are distraught, heartbroken, and will never give another dime to this place. After leaving my review, Prab Jot called me to follow up, at first apologetic, then asking me to remove or change my review. Just because the officr manager says "sorry for your experience" does not mean my opinion or experience has changed whatsoever. If anything, it's more upsetting that you would have the audacity to ask me to take down my honest review after everything we went through in your unprofessional clinic. They offered us $100 off towards our next visit as an attempt at a 'consolation' after we paid over $900 to be traumatized. There will never be a "next visit" and I write this review in hopes of saving another poor family from a horrific experience with their fur baby and being scammed by these people the way we were.

Fantastic experience: After about ten years of having our “best friends” with us, we have been to a few different vet clinics and stuff.. but when we had a more serious need for care , we’re always able to find what we really needed, and then we Found South Seattle vet hospital and more specifically Dr. Sidhu.. He as been the most amazing, talented, understanding, and expedient, and obviously very experienced veterinary Dr. we have ever met, He and the entire staff in Burien have given the best care for our dogs and us, especially when we needed it the most. Negative experience: I’d been in to this hospital before when my two kittens needed to be seen. The service was fine and we were sent home meds. However, after the exam a vet came out and called my name and attempted to hand me a carrier. I explained that wasn’t my pet carrier, but when I went to look inside I realized it was not even either of my kittens. They tried to give me someone else’s pet. Mind you this cat and my kittens looked nothing alike and the carrier had a clear name on it- neither mine, nor either kitten’s. That was a bit odd and my partner and I made sure to check we were in fact given the correct animals before leaving. This most recent time I attempted to use their facility I called slightly distressed because my kittens had gotten into some crafting string while I was away and I was unsure if they had ingested any. I called and the only option for questions and concerns was the same option for emergency calls. Expecting a quick answer since it’s an emergency line, I was surprised to wait almost 10 minutes on hold, with no one even bothering to answer beforehand. When someone finally answered, I explained I had called to ask about any specific warning signs to look for in kittens who may have ingested string. The lady seemed very annoyed and just said “Yeah, we can induce vomiting. It’s 300 bucks.” I explained again I was simply asking for symptoms to look for in case I may need to bring them in. The lady then got a very passive aggressive tone and said “Well, if you don’t think it’s a big deal then don’t bring them in.” Excuse me for wanting to be sure before potentially spending $600 to stress out my pets and how dare a “professional” suggest I don’t care enough to spend money to help them. I won’t be back unless there’s no other option.

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!! This was hands-down the most cold, careless, and unprofessional veterinary experience I have ever had. Dr. Harbir Goraya was shockingly insincere and dismissive from the start. They took my cat away from me immediately and left me sitting alone, with no explanation, no communication, and no transparency about what was being done. When they came back, there was no discussion, no real walkthrough, no attempt to include me in decisions about my own pet — just demands about what “needed” to be done. After calling my boy cat a girl…asking questions that had already been filled out on his chart, clearly we were just another patient in his lineup. Can’t even bother himself to read the chart let alone take his heart rate in the exam. They wanted to start antibiotics without even knowing whether my cat had an infection. That alone should tell you everything about how rushed and careless this place is. They charge premium prices for what feels like assembly-line, impersonal care. They claimed they performed an exam. Yet when I took my cat to another vet, I was told his heart rate was critically low. That means either no real exam was done, or it was so careless and incomplete that they completely missed a life-threatening issue. If they had done a thorough exam, they would have immediately recognized that his heart rate was severely below healthy levels and in the critical range. Because of this, my cat was not even operable until the new vet stabilized him. That is not a small oversight. That is dangerous. This clinic told me to bring him back if he wasn’t okay in 24 hours — yet they took 48 hours to even bother checking in. When I informed them that they had missed how serious his condition was, and that another vet had to stabilize him, they stopped responding entirely. On top of all of that, it took them far too long to even send my cat’s records to the new vet, delaying care even further. No accountability. No follow-up. No urgency. It’s also very interesting how their glowing 5-star reviews are always pushed to the top on Google, while the 1-star reviews are buried pretty deep — and even more interesting that on their own website there are zero 1-star reviews at all. Do with that what you will. And judging by the reviews, I genuinely don’t understand how Dr. Harbir Goraya is still practicing here — he seems to be the worst possible choice of a doctor for this clinic. And judging by the other reviews, I fully expect some copy-paste excuse response. Save it. I trusted this clinic with my cat, and they failed him. I cannot believe how insincere and dismissive Dr. Harbir Goraya was. I would never come back here and strongly recommend anyone who actually cares about their pet to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: We were in desperate need of finding a vet who could perform surgery on our dogs leg. We had a great experience with this clinic. They were very attentive and informative to us. The surgeon, Goraya was balanced yet optimistic with us. The outcome has been better than expected. The front desk staff has been professional and helpful. We would use them again without hesitation. We found their pricing to be much better than what we saw from clinics on the east side as well.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually write reviews, but this one feels important. The day we brought one of our cats into South Seattle Veterinary Hospital, he was diagnosed with FIP. As if that wasn’t already devastating, my husband found out that his father had passed away right as we were arriving at the clinic. It was an overwhelming, heartbreaking moment, and everything hit at once. Andrea at the front desk was extraordinary. She immediately sensed what was going on and treated us with such kindness and care. She kept checking on us, took the time to sit with us, and made sure we were okay in a moment when we honestly weren’t. When emotions took over, she showed real compassion and humanity, not just professionalism. It meant more than she probably knows. The veterinarians here are excellent and took great care of our cat, but what truly sets South Seattle Veterinary Hospital apart is the way the staff take care of people, too. In the middle of grief and fear, Andrea made us feel seen, supported, and cared for. That kind of empathy stays with you. We’ll always be grateful to Andrea and to this clinic for how they treated us on one of the hardest days we’ve had.

Fantastic experience: South Seattle Veterinary Hospital place is the perfect combo of fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and affordable - which, let’s be honest, is basically the unicorn of vet care. The doctors are fantastic: smart, thorough, and genuinely invested in your pet’s well-being. They explain things clearly, don’t rush you out the door, and somehow manage to be calm even when you are not. Appointments are easy to get, help is always available, and the pricing is refreshingly reasonable. Now let’s talk about Andrea at the front desk, because wow. Andrea is the glue that holds the universe together. She is warm, empathetic, kind, and has the magical ability to make you feel instantly less stressed - even when you’re panicking about your pet. She remembers people, she listens, she cares, and she treats everyone with compassion and respect. If you’ve ever had a rough day at a vet’s office, Andrea is exactly the person you want on the other side of the counter. Honestly, Andrea deserves a cape. Or at least unlimited coffee and a raise. South Seattle Veterinary Hospital is a place run by people who truly care, and it shows from the moment you walk in the door. Five stars, no notes, and endless gratitude for a clinic (and a front desk superstar) that makes hard moments easier.

Negative experience: NEVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE I took my cat here in 2020 (my original review was deleted) for breathing issues and after they took advantage of our emotional distress the dr took my cat in the back room and shot him up with every medication in the book, gave us horse pills and charged us 300 dollars. we had to beg not to have our cat stay overnight and once we got home, he was extremely dehydrated and very lethargic, I watched him have a seizure 5 days after we brought him in here, and he suffered greatly. If I waited a few hours to bring him into his regular vet he would be here today. Just go literally anywhere else please do it for my Midnight. These guys are used car salesmen they do not care about your pets well being.

I should also add that this team is great with my bully breed dog, other vets we have been to were afraid of him for no reason, other than his looks. His comfort is very important to me, they did a great job.

Negative experience: The staff and front desk people were amazing. However, the veterinarian Harbir who was the one who saw my cat was more concerned about how much could charge me than healing my cat. He also had no idea what he was doing or what he was looking for. I took my cat in because she had been vomiting for 6 days no eating and no drinking at all. He said that my cat needed blood work and x-rays, before even asking me anything about my cat. He never asked me about the texture of the vomit or when was the last time she had a bowel movement, and when I asked him what the blood work and X-rays were for, he said that it was to check if my cat had a needle in her throat or if her kidney was not working, which neither of them had anything to do with the throwing up. He took my cat to the back and didn’t let me come in, took about 30 minutes without getting back to me. When he finally came out he said that my cat needed an antacid, antibiotic, and a laxative. And gave me a $680 bill for just telling me this. Not only that but my cat just got worse after she came home. Then in the morning I got a text from the vet asking for coco and suggesting to bring her back for hospitalization. This just seemed all to weird to me so I decided to take my cat back to the vet but this time I went to a different veterinarian to get a second opinion -they were confused as to why he prescribed antibiotic when the cat didn’t have an infection, or why he prescribed antibiotic laxative when the cat had nothing on her stomach, and the antacid was just useless. They also noticed the cat was clearly dehydrated and doubted that they ever administered the fluids stated on the invoice. I’m glad I had the means to get a second opinion but I’m so disappointed that there’s veterinarians out there who claim to know what they’re doing when they’re only after your money. Please, don’t waste your time. Go to a different vet

I am so sorry to hear about your experience with Dr and the care your cat, Coco, received. thank you for addressing your concerns. I apologize that you feel you were not getting your questions answered. The doctor did however did a complete physical exam, and went over that as well as the results of the testing with you in Exam room he Recom further diagnostics which you have declined . As well we did recommend further testing to find out what was wrong with your pet, unfortunately we could not due to your budget restrictions. We do not offer payment plans and so we were limited on how we could assist, And we have communicated with you regarding your pets further symptoms and addressed any concerns you had. subcutaneous fluids were in fact given and we had the assistant who did it ensure you that it was done. Even Next day we Recommended fluids & Hospitalization which was declined by you .Thank you. we will also review our protocols for patient history gathering and client communication to ensure we are providing thorough and transparent care.

Fantastic experience: We took our dog in for gastrointestinal distress. Bianca checked us in, promptly creating a profile for us since we had never been there. I was able to hand off our dog within 10 minutes. He was in the best hands, the veterinary assistants and doctors in the back operated like a F1 pit crew. My husband and I were led into a room, where Dr.McHaffie promptly met us to discuss what we knew about his situation. He ordered labs, and worked with us on a solution. He stayed overnight, and when I called in the AM for a check-in, Raina at the front desk connected us with Dr.Sindhu who was now the lead veterinarian, after tying in with McHaffie. He was well informed on our dogs situation, and was able to work in an additional treatment that we wanted taken care of as well. While I hope no one every has to deal with a pet emergency, if you find yourself looking for a well oiled machine of a veterinarian office, go to South Seattle Vet.

Negative experience: I had the worst veterinary experience of my life here and will never return. I brought my dog in for a simple thorn removal after he ran through a rosebush. Instead of asking good follow-up questions during intake, the tech tried to take him to the back even though I told her he has separation anxiety. She had no treats, refused the treats I offered her, and kept pulling him while he was clearly terrified. I then heard my dog howling for an extended period of time behind closed doors — something he has never done at a vet. When they brought him back, he had expressed his anal glands on himself from fear and was wearing a muzzle they put on without my permission (he is extremely gentle and has never worn one before). When I got home, I found two thorns embedded in his muzzle, meaning they muzzled him on top of thorns without noticing. I have photos documenting this. The veterinarian also misdiagnosed the two obvious scratch wounds from the rosebush, even calling them “warts” before backtracking when I questioned it. I was left uncertain whether they even removed the full thorn. I’ve filed a complaint with management, and plan to file with the state board, but I want others to be aware of what happened. My gentle, normally calm dog was traumatized here. Please consider this before choosing this hospital.

Fantastic experience: South Seattle Veterinary Hospital truly saved our dog’s life, and I will forever be grateful to Dr. Goraya and the entire team. Our dog was in critical condition needing an emergency pyometra surgery, and after calling more than 20 veterinary clinics, no one could take her the same day or they quoted nearly $10,000, which we simply could not afford. South Seattle Veterinary Hospital was the only place that not only agreed to help immediately, but also worked with us financially. They told us to come in, make a deposit for less than half of the surgery cost—just what we could afford at the moment—and they’d begin the surgery same day. They reassured us that we could work out the remaining balance over the next few days. That alone showed incredible compassion. Most ER’s & vets wouldn’t be able to accommodate at the level South Seattle Veterinary Hospital did. I know some reviews mention upselling or have compared the clinic to a “car salesman.” Our experience was the opposite. An unexpected additional $1,000 was added to the bill after surgery, which understandably concerned us at first. But once we explained that we only had the funds for the original estimate, they were extremely understanding. Even though my dog’s pyometra had ruptured into her abdomen, making her surgery much more severe and complex than expected. They still reduced the cost back down to the original amount Dr. Goraya quoted us. They were not trying to price gouge. The price increase made sense given the rupture (which we did not know about until surgery), and Dr. Goraya was completely transparent. He showed us proof of the rupture so we understood the seriousness of her condition and why her care required more work. Nothing felt dishonest or exaggerated. I think it’s important for people to realize that veterinary care is expensive everywhere unfortunately, and complications can increase costs—not always because of greed, but because of the actual medical work required to save a life/give optimal recovery. South Seattle Vet already agreed to operate for around $4,000 when other ERs wanted $10,000. That alone shows their compassion and willingness to help people in crisis. Because of them, my dog is alive today. She is now recovering beautifully at home and already acting like her happy, energetic self again. We cannot thank the staff and Dr. Goraya enough. They helped us through one of the scariest moments of our lives and gave us more precious time with our girl. We will always feel grateful to this hospital and the incredible people who cared for Kita when we had nowhere else to turn. The staff and doctors at South Seattle Veterinary Hospital are seriously genuine, honest, and hardworking real life heroes who deserve acknowledgment for everything they do. Thank you so much

Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful review. We know how frightening emergencies like Kita’s can be, and it means so much to our entire team, especially Dr. Goraya, that you trusted us during such a critical moment. We’re thrilled to hear she’s recovering beautifully and back to her happy self.

We truly appreciate you mentioning our efforts to make urgent care as accessible as possible. Providing compassionate, high-quality treatment at a cost families can manage is something we take very seriously, especially during emergencies. Your experience reflects the kind of support we strive to offer every day.

It also means a lot that you shared your perspective on some of the misconceptions out there. We understand that unexpected medical situations are stressful, and we’re always committed to being transparent, honest, and focused on doing what’s best for each pet.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your story and for recognizing the hard work of our team. Please give Kita a gentle hug from all of us, we’re honored to be part of her recovery journey

Negative experience: Terrible experience- don’t take your pet here!!! I brought my cat in for an emergency issue with his leg. I told them about his preexisting issues & medications, and even brought in his prescription food. They kept him overnight, which cost hundreds of $ & ran $1000 worth of unnecessary tests, without gaining my permission or informing me -at any point- of what was going on. They never called with updates or info like they promised. I decided to go get my cat the next day since I was uncomfortable leaving him there any longer- and was informed solemnly about the conditions that I had already told them about when I admitted him. They apparently forgot why he had been admitted (his leg) and ran $1,000 of tests only to tell me what I already knew & had informed them about! They also told me to bring him back to be euthanized if he didn’t get better within a couple days, after charging me another $500 for new medications. They had also shaved a spot on his skin so deeply and roughly that it was bloodied and raw. I decided to get a 2nd opinion from his regular vet & found out that one of the new meds was a powerful sedative- if I had continued dosing him as South had instructed, he would have appeared not to get better (and they would have made more $ from putting him down if I had followed their recommendation.) My cat fully recovered as soon as I stopped the meds that South Seattle gave me. Terrible experience, traumatic for both my cat and for me, and insanely expensive. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE if you can go anywhere else.

Positive experience: South Seattle Vet helped my dog, Bruno through a really tough time. They performed an ultrasound, X-ray, and eventually surgery to remove his spleen, which had a tumor. The entire team was caring, professional, and supportive throughout the process. Especially Dr. Singh & Dr. Goraya! They also provided thorough follow-up care after surgery, including multiple rounds of blood work to make sure my dog was recovering perfectly. There are multiple providers on site, so I’d recommend getting more than one opinion — it really helped me feel confident in the care plan because I learned that providers interpret results differently. Overall, a positive and compassionate experience from start to finish. I’m so thankful to the South Seattle Vet team for their compassion and for helping prolong my dog’s life.

Fantastic experience: Last Friday night, my girl Chili started vomiting and couldn’t keep any food down. I monitored her throughout Saturday, but by Sunday morning I decided to take her to SSVH first thing. Dr. McHaffie performed blood work and X-rays, and suspected a foreign body might be lodged in her stomach. Since Chili was very unwell, I made the difficult decision to proceed with surgery. I was worried sick and just wanted her to feel better. Dr. Goraya, the surgeon, was incredible—he walked me through every detail and provided clear, very affordable options. Both Dr. McHaffie and Dr. Goraya were compassionate, professional, and truly treated Chili as if she were their own. I CANNOT thank them enough for their kindness, expertise, and empathy. Because her electrolytes were unstable and her condition was more on the critical side, surgery was scheduled for Monday. The entire SSVH team—receptionists, technicians, and all the doctors involved—were absolutely wonderful throughout the process. Thanks to everyone’s care, Chili came home on Tuesday afternoon and has been doing amazingly well—back to her happy, playful self! This is truly a six-star review because five stars just aren’t enough to express how grateful and satisfied I am.

Negative experience: My puppy ate half of a toy and I took him to South Seattle vet, where they said they would have to do surgery for $4,000. The pricing changed by the minute depending on who I was talking to. Because I was so afraid for my puppy, I almost went through with it. I was hesitant when they couldn't bill my insurance company directly, and wanted to charge me for blood work on a perfectly healthy 2 month old puppy before completing the already recommended surgery. Some friends highly recommended Timberline, so I drove there instead. I'm so glad I made the trip! The kind vet at Timberline induced vomiting, and a couple of hours and $400 later, we went home! He's fine, and he didn't have to go under anesthesia or a knife! I'm so very thankful to everyone at Timberline and so glad I didn't risk his life at South Seattle vet!

Unfortunately, when you visited, our emergency team was already at full capacity, actively treating multiple critical cases. In situations like this, taking on another emergency could compromise the care of all pets involved, including yours.

Fantastic experience: We went to this place on a Monday night after our dog ate half of a corncob. (Dogs can't digest corncobs.) They performed a scan of her belly, showed us the cob, told us that it would almost certainly become stuck as it traveled through her intestines, and recommended surgery. We went with their recommendation, and our dog had the surgery that night. They did a great job, and one week later she was ready to play. (We told her she had to wait another two so she could heal completely.). Everyone at the place was great to work with, very kind, and very helpful. Special shout out to Chloe, who seemed to live there! Very, very happy we found this place. Recommend it to anyone scanning for an emergency vet in a pinch.

They wouldn’t let us see her before we paid. They never caught that she needed her anal glands expeld. Negative experience: I brought in a dog that was injured on the side of the road here back in 2019. They kept the dog overnight, put him down without my permission and forced me to pay for the bill when I was under 18. Which is actually illegal as I found out recently. I would never ever go to this vet again after that experience that still haunts me to this day.

Negative experience: Please do not go to this vet if at all possible if you care for your pets. We came in for a routine bandage change from a recent biopsy since our regular vet is not open on the weekends. Despite the requirement for an exam fee for new patients, the vet we saw did not do any kind of exam - no temperature check, body exam etc. Not even an introduction of his name when he first appeared. He then proceeds to upsell laser treatments for her wound without even examining it. We pass and ask for the simple bandage change. After sometime with our dog in the back, he returns telling us the wound is infected and requires surgery under anesthesia to remove dead tissue and restitching. Mind you we had just visited our regular vet Friday afternoon for a bandage change with no other major notes and this visit at South Seattle is Sat morning. We’re uncomfortable and deny any additional upsells for procedures that sound absolutely unwarranted based on what we know from our trusted vet. We eventually leave with a poorly fitted bandage even though our regular vet wrote up detailed instructions that we had passed on. After following up with our regular vet Monday, they confirmed our dog’s wound is not infected and also went as far as to ask where we had gotten the bandage change so they could caution other patients from being treated there as the bandage was so poorly done. This place reeks of sleezy car salesman predatory practices, please do not come here. I would never trust this place with critical decisions regarding our dog’s health. Edit: You can see from the owner response, completely incoherent and wrong. Again, please don’t come here if you love your pet and care for their well being.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE! My rabbit, Lettuce, was attacked by a hungry fox, and I knew I had to get her to the closest possible hospital, so I came here. I waited THREE HOURS while my beloved fur baby nearly BLED TO DEATH on my lap. When they finally called her back to get examined, the 'vet' was just ranting on and on about prices. Like HELLO, my bunny is DYING here?? When they finally treated her, they charged me $250 for an X-ray. I mean, what? So I tried to get Lettuce back. I had to pay $40 to get her back. And then while I storm off, the manager literally says, "please do come again soon!" Lettuce survived the night, but barely. She died the next morning. My 7-year-old daughters were heartbroken.

Fantastic experience: My puppy was in and out of other ERs for several days before I took him to south Seattle Vet hospital. I was suggested by a friend to take him there since he was deteriorating and I was so scared that I would lose him. Since the minute I walked in, I felt like they cared about me and my dog. The doctor was so kind to explain what would happen and gave me a treatment plan that made me feel at ease. The other places I went felt like they just needed the money. He was hospitalized for 1 day and I paid 1/4th of what I paid at other places. My puppy was so cared for and he got so much better in just 1 day. After I picked him up, the hospital was so kind to reach out to me and see how my puppy was doing. I have decided to make them my puppy’s primary care. I could not be any happier. Thank you!

Negative experience: If I could rate 0 I absolutely would. My dog was 5 years old when he first came to South Seattle Vet and I was only living in Seattle (Columbia City) for a few months when I decided to bring my dog here for food poisoning. He had got into my cat’s wet food and I’m guessing it was a protein overload. He was vomiting and having severe diarrhea. They were the only vet clinic with availability for my dog who needed care ASAP and at the time I thought they had decent reviews. It was 2022. Now before this, my dog Chump had NO issues at the vet. He was able to go to the groomers, had trust within clinics he visited, and was just an easy going pup. When I brought him to South Seattle Vet, everything changed. He was hospitalized for about 2 days and when I picked him up he seemed absolutely traumatized. His bottom was COVERED in diarrhea still. I felt so bad for my baby. At first I thought he was just startled for being away from me for so long, until I brought him for another check up here a few months later… and realized that it was THIS clinic that he was scared of :( I brought him in for a wellness check since he was already established with them, and I immediately noticed how anxious he was. When they vet called us in, we were taken into a room to wait. They took him to a separate room and after a few minutes I heard him YELPING and CRYING intensely. Mind you, prior to this he never had issues at the vet! When the vet came back in, she seemed annoyed, dismissive, and sent us on our way, saying that he was uncooperative. She seemed rushed when I was trying to explain issues he had been having, and wanted us to come in another time. We still ended up paying for the appointment even though he didn’t receive any care. She urged us to come again when he was medicated and calm. If he wasn’t treated, and I wasn't given any advice I don’t believe we should have had to pay a fee. She did not have any patience or empathy towards my anxious pup. You would think a vet would have more experience and understanding in this situation. After this, I never went back. Ever since his experience at South Seattle Vet he has had a very hard time building relationships at clinics. I now bring him to Mercer St where they treat him like a doll - with so much patience and are always looking for solutions to make him more comfortable. They never make me feel ashamed for his reluctance and anxiety about the clinics. And that taught me that I should have had higher standards for what my pup deserves in his care. I would highly recommend against coming to South Seattle Vet. To this I regret bringing my dog here and can’t imagine what happened to him for him to feel so traumatized by doctors. My poor baby.

Fantastic experience: Went to the vet today for a check up for my dog. The atmosphere and front office is very heartwarming and welcoming. They were informative of the process of check in. The doctor advised next steps in the healing process of my dog, and addressed all my concerns. I recommend going to this vet for immediate needs to get a pet checked out and next steps for healing. Also, for future references, get pet insurance for coverage in vet visits.

Negative experience: I’m writing this review with deep frustration and disappointment following a difficult and emotionally exhausting experience at South Seattle Veterinary Hospital. Before my appointment, I emailed the clinic thoroughly explaining my dog’s situation—he’s anxious, reactive, and has a history of aggression when fearful. He also has a leg that was fractured years ago and never healed properly. I recently took over his care and was trying to get him the help he needed. The clinic responded that they could handle it and encouraged me to bring him in. When we arrived, the reality was entirely different. Not a single staff member seemed trained in handling anxious or reactive dogs. Despite my detailed email, I was met with confusion and a lack of preparedness. I asked if we could use a side entrance to avoid the stress of walking through the front door with other pets around. I was dismissed and told to muzzle him—even though I had explained he had never worn one before. I tried anyway, and as expected, my dog froze in fear. When I returned to the door to ask for help, I was met with blank stares and unhelpful suggestions like “Can’t you just carry him in?”— I physically cannot lift a 52lb dog due to my own health limitations. I had to watch my dog panic and nearly slip out of his harness into traffic while four vet techs stood at the door, watching, offering no real assistance. The only compassionate and capable person there was a tech named Tesla. She finally came out, calmed the situation, and offered to let me drive around to the side (something I had already suggested earlier but was ignored). We tried again with a second leash, the muzzle, and a lot of coaxing—still no success. Tesla agreed to send us home with sedatives and pain medication and scheduled a second visit. On the second visit, after giving him the meds, I was finally able to get him to a point where he could be handled. Tesla, true to her word, was there again and helped get my dog sedated via injection outside the building. With her help, we got him safely onto a gurney and inside. They asked for a $1,000 deposit before the exam. After x-rays, bloodwork, sedation, and a nail trim, I was told the total was exactly $1,000—which felt oddly convenient. The vet came out to review the x-rays and basically told me there was nothing they could do about my dog’s leg. No suggestions, no referral to a specialist, no discussion of physical therapy, medications, or pain management options. He was abrupt, lacking any compassion or effort to discuss a path forward. I left feeling helpless, heartbroken, and defeated. Later, I followed up to ask about the bloodwork. Initially, I was told my dog’s liver levels were high, but when I called for clarification, the vet casually responded “Well, they’re not really high—they’re in range, just on the higher side.” He had prescribed a supplement that needed to be given on an empty stomach—something that’s nearly impossible with a picky dog like mine. When I explained this, there was no follow-up or alternative offered. Summary: • Tesla was the only saving grace of this entire experience...she showed empathy, competence, and a genuine effort to help. • The rest of the team seemed unequipped to handle a reactive dog, despite clear warning and preparation. • The vet was dismissive and offered no real solutions. • I left with a lighter wallet, an emotionally rattled dog, and no real plan for his care. This clinic may be suitable for basic pet care, but if your dog has anxiety, reactivity, or special handling needs, I urge you to look elsewhere. Compassionate, behavioral-aware veterinary care matters, and this clinic failed to deliver that—despite claiming they could.

Fantastic experience: I've brought both my dogs here for emergencies in times of dire need. The most recent of which was for chocolate ingestion, we were in and out in less than an hour, and my little guy Bandit is in perfect health now! My dog Harley was hit by a car last year and they took amazing care of her. The surgeon is very skilled, and was able to save her ability to walk despite her back 2 legs being run over. Hero's to say the least! I go here anytime I need quality care for my babies. They are professional, kind, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced for emergency services. Can't recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: We've had a great experiences here! We had to bring our dog in twice for emergency visits this summer and we were met with caring staff at the front desk, great vet techs who were so sweet to our dog and clearly explained all post-visit care, and doctors who ran thorough tests. One visit resulted in a surgical procedure, and the team there followed up with us via text in the days following his surgery to check in to make sure our dog was doing ok. They have a great team, and we will definitely bring our dog back in the future.

Fantastic experience: We unfortunately found SSV because of a medical emergency with Sevy was just a pup but our experience was so great we’ve been coming here ever since for general check ups (4 years now). A few weeks ago he ingested some bones and had to have surgery and it couldn’t have gone better. The staff and doctors are all wonderful and checked in with us several times post surgery to see how he was doing. Needless to say we will continue to bring him here and highly recommend them if you need vet services

Fantastic experience: South Seattle Vet has been wonderful to us. My dog has struggled with regular seizures, and they’ve helped us get them under control. Recently, he started skipping on one leg, and after taking him in, Dr. Goraya provided excellent care through his patella luxation (kneecap) surgery and every follow-up appointment. I can’t recommend them enough!

Negative experience: They don’t care about your pets more about money also promised me a price verbally saying the total costs when I go upfront to pay they told me a different cost stating that the price was already adjusted when I said the price that was promised they go “ let me talk to The doctor” then come back saying oh it’s because of taxes so the price looks different now. Well if it was because of taxes the taxes was only $20 more so the price would still be a lot less then what I payed don’t promise something verbally with your mouth then say it was applied when it wasn’t in total I payed $120 more then what was verbally promised plus tax, and my pet will still need to get treated elsewhere as he’s conditions hasn’t improved at all this was a bad way to spend a couple thousand dollars now I’m left feeling lied to and my pet not taken care of.

Negative experience: Do not be fooled by the $50 first time examination, I brought my 14lb dog here because he has been limping an has an irritated paw the doctor barley looked at him lifted his lip for about a millisecond didn’t check his temperature/ears etc which is apart of a regular exam which is what I paid for he didn’t even want to look at the paw we were in the “exam room” for about 2 minutes or less all the doctor did was name prices and immediately pushed for X-rays I explained my dog was just walking fine and I believe he was bit by an insect or has something stuck in his paw I extended my dogs legs all 4 of them before bringing him in he showed no discomfort except for when I touched his paw which is clearly red/swollen the doctor kept naming prices for sedation an X-rays all while refusing to take a look at his paw he than went to bend my dogs paw which resulted in my dog yelping/jumping in pain when I would bend my dogs paw he wouldn’t react even when applying pressure to the swollen paw he wouldn’t react.. which makes me believe he squeezed my dogs swollen paw to get a reaction as soon as my dog yelped in pain from him squeezing his paw he said “see he needs an xray” I feel as if I paid $66 for my dog to be hurt to get no answers if I had felt like the staff here cared even a bit I would have had no issue paying for an xray sedation etc whatever my dog may need but they didn’t seem to care about his health or what was going on with him just immediately came in pricing things and when he applied a muzzle to my dog he did not do it with any sort of care and buckled the muzzle right through his hair, definitely do not bring your pet here all they care about is running unnecessary procedures for money without even taking a look at what you brought your animal in for first place there are definitely better options Edit/response: my dog was not aggressive actually! I requested a muzzle be put on because he got aggressive with me when I was trying to get a closer look myself before bringing him in.. I made it very clear he was not aggressive but could be due to his paw being irritated he reacted like any animal would when touching a sensitive area he didn’t not get the opportunity to get aggressive because I requested the muzzle before the doctor could look at his paw! I did not refuse sedation because of financial concerns either I only brought my dog here because his vet is closed Saturday/sundays and I wanted to get him help immediately and other 24hr hospitals were at capacity this one was empty and now I know why! My dog has now recieved the proper care he did not need sedation or an xray all he needed was antibiotics and a cone! He had a swollen paw from excessive licking I did not bother getting him sedated or x rayed at this hospital because i did not like the service that was provided i asked if I could be with my dog during sedation and was told that was not allowed I had to ask to be there for the exam as well! What do you have to hide ?? At my dogs vet I am always allowed to be by his side this is a terrible animal hospital and shame on the doctor for not even looking at my pets paw and for squeezing his paw how heartless do you need to be to hurt an animal that is clearly in distress!

South Seattle Veterinary Hospital

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. It is disheartening to hear that you felt the examination was rushed and that your concerns about your dog's paw were not adequately addressed. It's also concerning to hear that you felt the muzzle was applied carelessly and that you felt pressured into unnecessary procedures. As your dog was aggressive .Our doctor Re com Sedation Exam to do proper exam of paw ,you have declined due to financial concern . This is not the level of care we aim to provide. We will be retraining our staff on proper examination techniques, gentle handling, and clear communication about treatment options and costs.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment for my Husky, and everyone was so nice to my dog and others. There was another family with their dog, who seemed to have just given birth, and she was a little defensive towards other animals. She had a moment with a small dog that walked out, but the staff was quick to get her room ready so she wouldn't be so nervous. I'm sure the family was grateful, and so was I as my pup was about to walk out. Not to mention they are very affordable! Looking forward to coming back when needed!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough nice things about the front desk staff, vet techs, and vets I worked with. I brought a near death foster cat in and they did everything they could to help her. We didn't think she would make it through the night and she did. The vets were very clear and frank when talking about her condition and what they could do to help which I appreciated. The vet techs all spoke so sweetly about this mama cat and we're willing to explain and re-explain everything going on to me and my very tired brain. I asked for all the records to be sent to me and they were within 24 hours. They even text me the next day to check in and see how mama cat was doing after I picked her up which I very much appreciated. I will recommend them to anyone in the area and continue to use their services if ever needed again.

Fantastic experience: We tried to get in Saturday night at Blue Pearl animal hospital in Olympia, but they had a vet call out so it was an 8-10 hour wait. We called South Seattle Veterinary Hospital and they said they had no wait, so we went there instead. The staff were friendly, thorough, and we were seen right away. Our dog was able to get blood work, X-rays, and antibiotics in a little over an hour.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a great experience at South Seattle Veterinary Hospital. I took my 4.5 month Shih-Tzu because she ingested a piece of drawstring from a swearshirt. Upon arrival, we were seen quickly with very little wait. Dr. provided me options for her X-rays and to induce vomiting. I went ahead with the procedures and they were able to have her vomit up the 5” piece of drawstring. During the whole process they were transparent with the costs which I found fair. They brought my pup out after cleaning her up and provided me with some helpful after care instructions. I also received a follow up text from SSVH to check in on my pup’s condition, which was very thoughtful. Overall I am very satisfied with SSVH and would go there again.

Negative experience: Called in, Dr. Bhatti on 5/10/2025 won't allow you to ask a question regarding bringing your pet. He just came to the phone, kept talking over about wanting unnecessary labs and procedures and said they'd want 600 for services, interrupting and then hung up without even hearing what the initial question was. Then sent the call to voicemail. Extremely rude. Wouldn't trust someone with your pet who doesn't something like that.

Fantastic experience: I have taken my animals to South Seattle Vet for years of various after-hour concerns and emergencies, and they have always been there for us. Most recently, my dog got a terrible infection from an unsuccessful attempt by another vet to remove a lipoma, and Dr. Goraya redid the surgery, successfully removed the lipoma, and set up a series of reasonably-affordable bandage changes and laser treatments to see him all the way thru his healing. All of the staff there has been courteous and kind, even when different animal crises thru the years have had me melting down, and at times quite upset! If you are looking for a place that truly cares about your animals, South Seattle Vet Clinic is the place to go.

Negative experience: If we could give them zero stars we would. They are greedy butchers who will hold your pet hostage and exploit its suffering and your love for it for an exorbitant amount of money. We took our dog for an anal cyst removal, and all it had removed was a couple of skin tags. The dog was only released after we paid $1000 more than the $1000 ransom we already left with the dog. This, for what we considered totally unnecessary, a cosmetic procedure, and a couple of AI printouts and test results of an undetermined canine. The proper surgery was postponed as "too complicated" for the following day for twice the amount. Conclusion: Don't go, even to euthanize.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I understand your frustration with the unexpected costs and the feeling that your dog's needs were not met. This is not the level of care we aim to provide. I'd like to assure you that we will review our pricing policies and communication procedures to ensure clarity and transparency for all pet owners. We will also discuss your case with our surgical team to understand why the procedure was postponed ,According to our record your visit was for cyst removal only , but we found out your pet had large anal gland carcinoma ,our doctor Recom to do biopsy which you have declined & postponed the surgery due to aggressive nature of tumor.

Negative experience: My mother's little doggy was attacked by a bigger dog and they rushed him to this vet. The vet took him in and gave her an estimate of $4000 to stitch him up, and refused to provide care for almost 24 hours, demanding a deposit of 80% before caring for the suffering animal. The staff was incredibly rude and inhumane to say the least. I encouraged my mother to call another vet who was able to perform the same care for $956 in total. This vet charged her $1000 for the overnight stay and no care, her dog was dripping blood and unstable when she picked him up to take him to the other vet. They are awful, atrocious, and should be out of business for how heartless and cruel they are. They would happily see your pet die if they don't get their money.

Maddy Malo Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Do NOT take your pets here to be euthanized. The vet assistant was nice a little but the doctor here shows no type of compassion. My poor old lady was shown no type of comfort when she was being put down. They brought her to my room while she was gasping for air, you think maybe they would try to sedate her for any means of comfort but nope, nothing. Instead they brought her to my room while she was on her last breaths and I was standing there wondering "Oh my god is she going to die before they even do the shot??" The doctor came in, gave the shot and said "Take your time goodbye" I know they do this daily but cmon, I've receieved way better care and comfort at multiple different vets. Avoid this place at all costs if you want your loved pet to have a nice goodbye.

Fantastic experience: Cat dental work here was very convenient. For a simple cleaning and anesthesia and blood work (no extractions) was around $540 (and an extra $35 for dental exam beforehand). And they have a coupon on their website for dental. I'm happy to have found an affordable vet dentist for teeth cleaning. The quotes around Seattle have been crazy. The blood work was not required but we opted for it anyways. We've been here before for other emergency vet situations and the doctor was always very informative. If they can handle our pet in an emergency, they can handle a teeth cleaning too

Fantastic experience: I can’t speak highly enough of this hospital, the staff, and Dr. Goraya in particular. We ended up here at 2 a.m. as the closest open emergency vet when our 12-year old, 15 lb. Shihtzu mix was attacked in our backyard by a wild animal (Vets think two coyotes) and nearly torn in half. She had multiple wounds, including puncture wounds around her neck and a gaping wound with body parts spilling out around her waist. Over 4 hours of surgery, Dr. Goraya was able to remove a kidney and save everything else, putting shredded muscle and other soft tissues back together. We weren’t sure even after the surgery if she would survive, but the friendly, caring, professional staff nursed her back to life over the course of a week and continued outpatient care after she was released. After a few months of healing, you would NEVER know she had endured such trauma. Her personality is completely unchanged and physically she eats, evacuates, moves and plays the same as she ever did. I feel we owe this precious family member’s life to Dr. Goraya’s knowledge and skill in putting her back together, his direction of her aftercare, and the wonderful care his technicians took of our little dog. When I tell friends who are in the know what this cost, they are amazed we didn’t pay double for this care. At all times, communication was timely, direct, friendly, caring and professional. Shout out to the friendly, professional front desk as well. Don’t hesitate to take your beloved animals to South Seattle Veterinary Hospital. They worked a miracle for us!

Fantastic experience: My tiny, older chihuahua girl was attacked by a larger dog, dislodging her eye. After a phone call to Blue Pearl in Renton - no vet to perform the serious surgery - we were sent to Blue Pearl in downtown Seattle. My dog was seen and for the low price of $303 she was examined and given a pain shot. I was then quoted $10,000 to remove the eye but again no vet to do the surgery. I found South Seattle vet hospital on Google and called them. I spoke briefly to the receptionist then Dr. Goraya got on the phone and told her to bring her in. We got there and they immediately took Lelo to the back. Dr. Goraya came and met with me and told me they could do the surgery for a third of the price. I left my baby there. They called me at 1:30 am to let me know she was fine. I picked her up the next day at noon. $3600 was the total cost. Vets are expensive. That’s just how it is. My last dog who had eye surgery cost me over $2000 and that was over ten year ago. I was treated with respect and concern. My girl had the eye removed and is bouncing back quickly. Look into Care credit if you run into a high $$ treatment for your critter. I will be choosing SSVH as our new vet.

Negative experience: I had the most absurd and offensive experience with them last night that brings me here to beg you to not take your Animal, especially in any kind of emergency, to this place. My cat was experiencing symptoms that I've never seen in her before and I panicked and brought her in ( my first time every stepping foot in there) just to do a check up to make sure she wasn't in Emergency. I have a regular vet that we go to, but they were closed so in a panic we came here. Dr. Bhatti was so unbelievably rude, judgmental and monotone, he immediately started pushing tests and numbers on me. It was extremely transactional. I asked if she was in an emergency (due to her lethargy) or if these tests could wait till tomorrow to take her to my local vet. He Basically rolled his eyes at me, told me their prices were comparable, kept pushing and with a creepy smile on his face, gave me a whole spiel About some case in Canada where a man was on drugs and was sent home and then died. And that's what he compared my cat to. I was in shock. I felt like I was being intimidated and I immediately did not trust this man. I demanded my cat back and he said nothing and left. DO NOT take your animal here. That was the worst experience I've ever had, I left so angry and still worried about my baby with no explanation and in such shock.

They work with your budget and always ask before proceeding forward. I just can’t thank this clinic enough. The negative reviews kinda surprise me because I’ve had NOTHING but a positive experience!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Goraya and his incredible team. Back in April, my 1-year-old cat completely tore his Achilles tendon. It was a devastating and traumatic experience for us. We saw three different emergency vets who all told us amputation was the only option. Thankfully, we found Dr. Goraya. Not only were his rates more affordable, but he was willing to try to save my cat’s leg instead of immediately resorting to amputation. The very next day, he performed the surgery, and the care my cat received was exceptional. Dr. Goraya and his staff were supportive, knowledgeable, and patient, guiding us through the post-surgery recovery process. After just two months, my cat made a full recovery with no issues. If you’re looking for a vet who truly cares about animals, is willing to take on challenging cases, and provides top-notch emergency care, look no further. I will forever be grateful to the team for saving my cat’s leg.

Negative experience: I called other vet hospitals in the area and they all had very long wait times, while this place was available almost immediately. This should have been a red flag- no one comes here anymore. Even with an empty office, they wouldn’t let my wife, who is a nurse, sit with our dog. She could hear him barking like mad in the back. After 30 min of waiting, the staff were actively ignoring her attempts to get their attention. She went back finally to see our dog alone in a cage. The doctor clearly didn’t care and lied about his exam, so my wife pulled our dog out and left. Never coming back. She drove up to Veterinary Emergency Group in Queen Anne and got fantastic care/service for our pup there.

Our apologies. At no point was it mentioned your wife was a nurse, but nurse or not, we do not allow clients in the back treatment area as it could be a liability. Exams are done in the back treatment area which was explained to your wife upon check in. At no point did she disapprove or ask to sit with him. The exam was started. We started with vitals and were waiting for a vet tech/ nurse to be available so we could take a proper look at your pet's painful paw. It had not yet even been 20 minutes before she barged into the back and demanded your pet back, cutting the exam short. Which is why the exam was not fully completed and why we didn't charge an exam fee.

Negative experience: If you can avoid going to this hospital, do it. A few years ago, I took my dog in because he had thrown up about ten times and had an impaction. We sat in the waiting room for about six hours with no one checking on us as he threw up multiple times on the floor. When we finally got in the vet was rude and insensitive. I was exhausted after staying up all night with my dog, and started crying as he told me that my dog would need a 5k surgery that I couldn't afford and that they would need to cut him open. The vet told me that I needed to stop crying and that it wasn't a big deal. I stayed up all night again to hear if my dog was okay and they updated me about 5 hours after they said they would. After that visit, my dog became afraid of the vet and kennels. The emergency hospital in Wallingford is much much better if you can make it up there.

Negative experience: If I could give this place -5 stars would. I’ve never had a worse experience at a vet hospital. We were there for five hours without any clear communication about what they were doing to my cat. We weren’t allowed to see her during that time, and the lack of transparency was beyond frustrating. The front desk lady initially told us we wouldn’t have to pay, but then the doctor came in, threw out a bunch of prices, and charged us $450 for injections and medication without giving us any real explanation of what was wrong. All we got was a vague “she has an infection.” That’s it—no details, no answers, just an expensive bill. To make matters worse, after the doctor told us this, we had to wait another hour before they were done. Then, they suggested keeping my cat overnight for $1,000! Are you kidding me? After everything, there was no way I could trust them with my pet any longer. This place is unorganized, lacks communication, and seems more interested in taking your money than providing genuine care. If you love your pet, I highly suggest going somewhere else. This was an infuriating, stressful, and overpriced nightmare. Everyone from the receptionists to the vets working there should be fired these people are scam artists disguised in blue scrubs and white coats. If your pet is sick you’re better off taking them to a normal vet who actually cares about pets and their well being.

Negative experience: I just can't wait for this place to close down. It's a terrible vet and they only care about money. Even if u had lots of money to throw at your pets issue I would still go to a specialist, not here. I wish cud give no stars. I came here just to get a new cast on my kitten. I had already went to a specialty vet for my kittens issue - was told by specalist to get weekly cast changes at local vet, come back to specialty vet for follow up. So I came here to get the cast changed, And the vet kept trying to push for an amputation?! I told him no, the specialty vet, said just to keep the cast on his leg. Why wouldnt i listen to the vet specalist? The only reason he let up was because I pretended I didn't have any money. He probably saw my kittens paperwork from the Tacoma Specalist and thought $$$$! They didn't even put the cast on right, it fell off same day. I can't back next day for full refund!!! He didn't wa t to but I stayed till he did!

Negative experience: we had an awful experience here. we brought our cat in a couple weeks ago due to his changed behavior. they ran every test possible we were kept there for around 3 hours. they had absolutely no answers for us by the end of the night despite the multiple tests run. they 100% knew all along what was wrong, because they didn't do any follow up checks when we left him overnight they told us what they found the previous day and didn't even give us a straight answer. they gave us an estimated total of $1500, said it wouldn't be any higher yet made us pay $2000 total by the next day! they knew our animal had cancer and did not tell us! they wrote it on the paper we were given but didn't explain the meaning of any of it so we had to do our own research. if they would've told us we would've been able to let him go sooner instead of having him suffer in pain. they made us pay for a bunch of antibiotics that didn't help him whatsoever and they knew all along. we brought him to a new vet to finally allow him to go after seeing a even larger decline in his health and we showed them the paper given from the previous vet (here) and they said that what they had diagnosed him was very intense and fast progressing, which we were not told here AT ALL! this veterinary clinic is money hungry and does not care about taking care of your animal. we were not checked up on the entire stay, service is very slow, i'd advise you not to send ur animal here, most importantly THEY DON'T TELL YOU WHAT IS TRULY WRONG!

Fantastic experience: This team saved our dog’s life. Our chihuahua was attacked by a big dog on a Friday night. He suffered a punctured chest, punctured lung, and broken ribs. Thankfully South Seattle Veterinary Hospital is open 24-hours a day and the team was waiting for our arrival. Dr. Goraya did late-night surgery on our little guy and saved his life. We are eternally grateful for the care our family received that night as well as the after-care we received from the entire team. We are so glad we ended up with them during a really stressful time. We recommend them without hesitation!

Fantastic experience: Our male cat had a UTI, which can require urgent care. He was fine, we received the expected level of care here. I think we got bumped back once or twice due to more urgent cases come in but that's how triage works. Didn't feel like they tried to upsell us on anything and they weren't pushy when we questioned and had some hesitancy on getting x-rays. Prices all seemed reasonable, especially for urgent care at late night hours. I hope we never have to return but I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I need to.

Negative experience: I had to come here with my dog after she jumped off the couch and immediately began shrieking in pain, biting anyone to touch her, and generally acting like she was in horrific pain ... which she was. My partner and I brought her to this clinic because it was the closest ER to us, but in the future I think we'd be better to drive twice as far if it means getting decent care. The staff were helpful and we were seen quickly. My dog was diagnosed with arthritis, bone spurs, and a pinched nerve. The vet who saw us, Dr. Goraya, seemed to be annoyed that we had brought her in. Overall, he treated us coldly and didn't seem to give a crap about two people who were visibly shaken by a dog who was in so much pain that she tried to hide under the deck, which is what animals do when they're getting ready to die. She also has severe anxiety and a heart condition that's triggered by her anxiety, which made her pain level particularly worrying. We were sent home with pain meds and something for the inflammation. Almost immediately it became apparent that she was severely underdosed. Several days after being seen, she was still in such horrible pain that she refused to move, and when we did try to encourage her to get up it hurt her so much that she hid in the corner shaking and crying. It was heartbreaking. When I called the vet to ask about her med, I was only able to talk to the doctor through the front desk staff, who said it was OK to give some more pain med, but I didn't know what dosage was safe. I called back and again had to deal with the doctor via the staff. Then I was provided information via text from staff. It was horrible, and all the while my dog was lying beside me crying in pain and I was literally begging for help because my partner and I were also distressed watching our little girl suffer. Ultimately, I didn't speak to the doctor and had to go back to our regular vet, who reviewed the records and then ACTUALLY CALLED US to discuss. We were told to triple her pain medication, but also got to speak to the vet for about 20 minutes asking questions and getting better information about the diagnosis. After giving our dog the proper dose of her pain meds she was dramatically better. Literally within hours she went from terrified, immobile, and shaking on the floor to walking around without help and acting so much like her usual, happy self that we had to settle her down before she injured herself again (I think she was so excited to finally be mobile after 5 days spent stuck on the floor that she went a little ballistic). In a pinch, if no other better option is immediately available, I would go back here, but it would have to be a dire situation. I'm sure there is some basic medical competence at this clinic, but the bedside manner I encountered was piss poor and it very much resulted in my dog suffering unnecessarily. You'd think that a pet owner calling in about a dog who is still in horrible pain would prompt more of a response from someone who, supposedly, wants to help animals, but Dr. Goraya has given every indication that he couldn't give more than half a crap. Also, the final bill was at least 30 percent higher than I would've expected, and I've had enough pets over the years to have a pretty good feel for the cost of different types of injuries/illnesses.

Negative experience: I don’t believe this place did what they said they did. My boyfriend brought our cat in for fluids because he hadn’t drank water in days and they took him to the back and forgot and saw my boyfriend and were like “you’re still here?” Considering the doctor completely forgot about my boyfriend, how can I trust he didn’t forget about our cat? When he’s had fluids in the past, you could feel it under his skin. We didn’t notice any different at all. You can tell by a cats skin if they’re dehydrated and he still is. Has barely used the litter box since. It’s sketchy when the they your pet to the back and you can’t see what’s happening to them. At my regular vet office, they give him the fluids in front of us.
