Positive experience: Brought my 14 yr old dog in for dental issues. They were able to examine her, do diagnostic tests and the surgery in one day. They treated my dog with gentle kindness and she is on the mend now. The only issues I had at all were not with their care or veterinary services. When it came to recommending services and billing I felt like they recommended testing that my dog didn’t need (abdominal X-rays, kidney tests, pancreas testing.) as she was there for dental issues, and I already agreed to the blood work test due to her age. So I had to decline many tests which made me feel a way. When I got the dental surgery estimate, it was just a set price, no breakdown of services. The surgery price included the bloodwork which I already paid for and had to remind them. Last issue was when you make an appointment you have to give a $25 dollar non refundable payment and the say it will be applied to your bill. I am positive it is since their office fee is only set at $45, but it would be nice to see it reflected on my bill. Office visit $70 , -$25 initial payment. All things considered I will definitely go back here as my only issues are office/business related. The veterinarian team was knowledgeable and attentive.

Fantastic experience: Dr. McEwan is the best vet anywhere. He has cared for our various boxers for about 28 years now. He is knowledgable, thorough, and kind. One hundred percent recommend to anyone. He treats reptiles, birds, dogs, cats, and even exotic animals. He’s amazing and the team is incredible from front desk, to techs, and equipment available for diagnostics and treatment.

Fantastic experience: Dr Wang took his time examining my pup. He explained what he was looking for and answered all my questions. Shots and exam for a reasonable price. How happy am I with them, I drove there from Tarzana! That said, the waiting room and examination rooms could use a little refreshing.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous because of the surroundings the neighborhood looked pretty rough but once inside it was fine! The doctor was very nice not pushy and was great at explaining and going over different options. I would definitely recommend this Vet!!

Fantastic experience: I had gone to AV vet hospital to get charged $1200 and they still couldn’t tell me what’s wrong. They wanted to run all the tests in the world. Finally I took her to Palmdale vet hospital with the lab work and the X-rays I got from av, the vet looked at them and said it’s simple, she has diabetes. And I told him they said we had to run some more tests to confirm. He said, why? No it’s clear as day she has diabetes. My dogs appointment, the syringes switch the insulin came out to $200. I absolutely loved that they didn’t beat around the bush. Other doctor at av was trying to tell me everything and nothing all at once, it def got over whelming! If you’re looking for a vet and a not so expensive one, this is the one!!

Negative experience: The vet was great, informative and kind. The front desk lady was not that kind. I was told one procedure over the phone for my service, made at appt, and charged a different price after the service. I mentioned it wasn’t the price I was informed and she said the price changed last year… keep in mind we’re in the first week of January so last year was a week ago and I was never informed of the change prior to it being time for payment. She was just basically like nothing I can do. Very frustrating because it was a $65 difference which is a big difference

Fantastic experience: I give it a 5 star very friendly front desk, nurses, DrS technicians all the crew. I been there once before but never knew they also work with parrots. My parrot is 30yrs old and first time at the vets office had her beak trimmed and is was excellent work and staff are the the friendliest. Thank you Palmdale Vet.

Fantastic experience: Btought my Frenchie here about 2 years ago because he had problems with his palate and breathing surgery was wonderful no problem since came in for a checkup recently they updated this shots they explain everything wonderfully and clearly he's a healthy boy.... All the staff is friendly patient and knowledgeable

Negative experience: The vet tech and veterinarian were wonderful, but the dismissive and unprofessional service from the front desk today completely overshadowed that. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to take my business elsewhere indefinitely.

Positive experience: This was my absolute first time going to Palmdale Veterinary Hospital. Honestly, I feel like the staff at the front desk were okay and can do better. I was not greeted when I walked in and had to acknowledge the staff by saying "Hello" to get their attention as I signed in. The veterinary assistant was nice and listened to all my concerns. The Veterinarian was thorough about the treatment that was needed , answered all my questioned and did not feel rushed.

Positive experience: I was shocked at the cost of dental work on my dog. At home I reviewed some YouTube videos and came to realize the work and skill required to do the surgery. My only request is for the price to be lower as being on social security it will take a long time to pay for the procedure.

Fantastic experience: Not the best experience this visit on 11/22 with my English Bulldog Zahra and my Frenchie, Tinkerbell. We saw Dr Wang and he was great, however the one office staff employee at the desk was very impudent and had an attitude. I don’t know her name but she had long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail. We waited almost 30 min past our appointment time to even taken to an exam room. She could also see our English BD was getting anxious about being there and took no action to get us in a room. I feel like she did not care about our animals at all.

I had high expectations of Vet.McEwan but they were squashed before we even saw him. Parking is bad, be careful exiting or may have an accident. Lost 2 hours of mi life here. Avoid like the plague!

Positive experience: What I appreciated most about this company was their flexibility and ability to work with an evolving situation as I rescued a dog from the shelter across the street. They squeezed me in and even accommodate as the shelter ran long to release the dog to me. Top props to the office for working with me. What I didn't like though was the overkill on diagnostics that they assumed I wanted, and the issue that I was most concerned about wasn't even an issue at all. I felt they tried to upsell me on unnecessary diagnostics.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Doctor McEwan D.V.M. by my longtime friend & neighbor who did me BIG FAVOR in this regard as I am now a VERY GRATEFUL NEW MEMBER OF HIS FAN CLUB!!! Living in the countryside makes all ‘trips into town’ a journey ~ though this down to earth, country Veterinarian’s office is most definitely worthwhile and beneficial to both myself & my beloved pet!

Negative experience: My pet was diagnosed by a new vet at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital ( as the vet hospital is under new ownership ) with having Pannus. Per the vet, the Pannus is not curable... only manageable with medication that is needed for the rest of my pet's life. I had my pharmacy contact Palmdale Veterinary Hospital for a refill prescription and the pharmacy was declined approval by the vet's office. The vet knowing this is a life long condition, there is no excuse for refusing approval of a refill needed for the rest of her life. I have been a very satisfied client at this pet hospital for 33 years while it was under the ownership of Dr. Lynn McEwen. However, I am not as happy with the new ownership. I have reached out to the hospital and spoke with an employee who will be speaking to the doctor about the situation. My continuing with this vet hospital is contingent on their care and concern of my pet's health and how they ultimately remedy this situation.

Fantastic experience: I can honestly say that over the years I have dealt with multiple veterinarians for our pets, and I can't say we ever had bad treatment from any of them. A family member used to work at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital and so we started going there. And have continued now for years. We came to expect exemplary treatment and as of our latest visit, nothing has changed. The veterinarians, and all the staff there take the time to fully explain what is wrong with our pets, and fully explain any treatment they recommend. I appreciate the care our pets receive, and I am so grateful how I am treated by the vets and all the staff with whom I come into contact. My pets are my furry children and it's so nice to know that they are in caring hands. Thanks to everyone at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital.

Fantastic experience: New review: 10/3/25 Dr McGowan took care of my Iggy again. I am very grateful! Old review 2023: I couldn't go to the vet my other bird sees, because he was off that day. I searched high and low for someone to see my bird. PVH took us. The doctor was no nonsense, very old school, but I saw he has a true love for animals I am so lucky to have found a vet like him.

Negative experience: I for one have lost hope on the vet system. I took my dog in for vaccination and rabies shot . He didn’t feel well so took him in the next day n they wouldn’t even help me because it was late in the day even tho my dog was dying. I have a feeling he was over medicated. Please do your research prior to applying anything to your pets. Veterinarians in general want to sale you anything for profits . If y’alls dog doesn’t need c DAP+4L Vaccine c Bordetella then I’ll advise don’t give it to them I have a feeling that cause him to feel ill n passed away.

Positive experience: I have visited three times, once to get our puppy treated for parvo and the second to get our cat spayed, and then again to get the same cat her rabies vaccination when hers had expired. Only for the spay visit did we experience some attitude from the receptionist but other than that, everyone was helpful and caring toward our animals!

Fantastic experience: I called to order refills of my dogs’ medications on Wednesday. I got a call that the medications were ready on Friday afternoon. I was able to pick them up then. Dr. Harvey is good at listening and is very thorough in his exams of my dog.

Fantastic experience: This is my 3rd labrador that has visited Palmdale vet clinic. Always good care for our animal friends, I've never had a bad experience. Negative experience: Im disappointed, other than its expensive i was told from other vet that wood lamp positive test on ringworm is enough to give cats an oral medication. This palmdale vet ask me for more testing that cost too much. I cant afford before they give me an oral medication. Im very dissatisfied

Fantastic experience: My baby passed away last week we just moved here so I haven’t found a vet yet for my fur babies I called told them she passed at home and they were so nice the lady at the receptionist desk I was crying really bad and worse when I went in she was very nice and understanding even the tech that came out to get my baby was very sweet and took my baby in with care her name was Athena and she was 12 unexpected passing they gave me her ashes back in the most thought beautiful box with her paw print I wasn’t expecting that made me feel so good when I picked her up today I would recommend them to help take care of your babies final resting I have my Athena son still so I will return for vet care for my other fur baby thank you Palmdale Animal Hospital for your care and incredible sensitivity and compassion and taking care of my baby

Fantastic experience: Vet tech, Dr, front office all friendly and engaging. Stayed at least an hour and a half after closing to make sure my kitty was stable and thriving after surgery. Explaining in detail the steps for aftercare of rest meds antibiotics wound ointment. A follow up call this morning on kitty's condition. A reminder of my post op visit sent to my phone. I've been using this vet location for as long as I can remember and will continue to use them. Return to get check-up and consult on front de-claw for kitty. Same Dr. Gave caring details of how invasive this procedure is and steps to keep kitty from ruining furniture in the future. Glad we had this visit to take the idea of declawing off the table. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: I had a appointment but still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seen. (I won't get too upset, it usually always takes long when seeing a vet/doctor.) The assistant was very helpful with explaining the cost. The vet was very helpful with explaining what may be going on with my pup and she took her time to explain and answer questions. That is important because I've went to vets where they would take a glance and be out the door without giving any explanation. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I will continue to take my pup to this establishment.

Positive experience: The staff and doctors are great; I just wish they could get their scheduling nailed down a bit better. My appointment was at 1:30 and I didn't even see the doc until 2:30 - and that's a pretty common occurrence.

Fantastic experience: June 2025 From arrival to completion Blackie was larthargic, and blood in his urine. After initial exam and lab work it was found that h e was poisoned. Asked if ate onions or garlic or rat poison. Not that we know. Also after x ray it was fount he had 3 BB under his skin. Not new but not real old. I was shocked and angered. Who should do such a thing. Well he needed it medication and system flushed. No way I could do that at home so it was decided he’d stay the weekend at the hospital. The cakes morning and evening to let us know how he was doing. We went in Monday and talked with the dr and it was decided he could come home. Our biggest fear was his Kidneys would shut down. Took him home with medication. The next day he sneezed blood and there was smal clot on his nose. Took him back to Dr. Things were ok. No blood just a little dry but ok. Back home. Fed him boiled chicken and white rice with peas and sweet potatoes then peas and carrots. After a week he’s happy, not bloated, clear urine. Lays around but well to chase cats. Vets said he was a ok. Just watch his diet. He has to loose 20 lbs Kidneys seem good. Regular visit few months. So now to try different foods to see what he and Princess will eat. Good Senior diet. Thank you Dr Lee and Dr Yang and the kind and caring staff. He’s starting to go on walks in evening ground to hit during the day.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday’s appointment went just fine. It took quite a bit longer than normal, but they had a couple of emergencies so I understand. My pets always get great care from everyone.

They all were friendly and the Vet was very knowledgeable and explained all the test results and course of action. I was referred by my sisters to this Veterinary Hospital and I now can see why they were rated so highly.

They also handled one of my dog's euthanasia. They sent the body for cremation and all I had to do was pick him up when it was all done. They are my primary vet and have been for years

Positive experience: Great place. I have been bringing my dog since he was a puppy. He recently had surgery. It was a little disappointing that it did take over 35 minutes and the receptionist paging three times to have my dog brought up. I had groceries in the car and was hoping that nothing was going bad in the heat while I was waiting. Thankfully, all was ok.

Fantastic experience: Took my 2 fur babies for routine vaccines, the clinic sent reminders and called to confirm. Great patient care, we didn't have to wait a long timeto be seen. Staff was professional and kind.

Negative experience: Everyone was very nice but I had a 9 am appointment and I didn’t get taken back till 9:45 and then I was in the room waiting for over an hour waiting for the vet. Which resulted in my appointment not being done till 11:30 so 2 and a half hours for a check up visit was excessive.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Li was very professional and patient. Our dog is old and has difficulty walking. We thought she had an infection but after testing, the doctor concluded that pain is causing her to not stand up and go outside when she needs to. Thanks for the honest and thorough diagnosis.

Fantastic experience: Today was a very hard day as I had to put my 15 yr old cat asleep. The staff were so helpful and their sympathy. The price was the most reasonable considering the situation and I will have his ashes in the end we'll.

Positive experience: The vet was very informative and personable, and the front attendants are always customer friendly and service oriented which is appreciated. I was quoted over the phone that the pregnancy check up would be $45.00 and was charged $105.00 which I do not understand.

Negative experience: I had no choice but to come here for my dogs spay due to the voucher holder sending me there. Surgery went well, sutures look good. I arrived at pickup time and asked to pick up my dog, who is a french bulldog. (rescued) I heard a dog who was panting uncontrollably and very distressed and i heard a squeak and IMMEDIATELY knew it was my dog. i asked the lady at front desk if by chance it was my dog, she said “idk there’s a lot of dogs back there” without even looking at me!! Anyone who has frenchies knows they CANNOT regulate their body temperature. I was extremely stressed out as i heard her become more and more distressed by the minute. i understand they have other things going on so i patiently waited , for about 20 mins !! as i had to hear my dog in uncontrollable distress, the lady came out and started going over medications so i asked again, is that my dog?!??? she says “oh no no- wait , yes!” i had to ASK her to go get her. It may seem dramatic to some but those minutes of uncontrollable panting and crying could’ve meant life or death for her , and as a veterinarian you guys should know that. will not be returning , will be going to my usual get ; Petcheckengine. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience: When my vet closed, I found Palmdale Vet Hospital and I'm extremely happy with the service I've received. The front desk is kind and helpful. I have a senior dog and I will only take him to Dr. Wang!! My dog is my everything and I'm so happy I brought him here.

Fantastic experience: I am grateful they were able to fit in same-day exams for my dogs. The office had an emergency during our visit, so we had to wait. But they still saw my dogs after the emergency was handled and they gave great care. I am glad to have found this office.

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our bird to Dr McEwan for approximately 10 years. He is very kind and caring. His staff is nice too!

Fantastic experience: This place was awesome and Dr. McEwan was amazing. He was the 3rd vet I went to for my little guy that was itching and scratching his hair off his ears. He checked him over and said he was going to scope his ears. A few minutes later he requested I go back to where he was so I could see the monitor. To my surprise and horror, my little doggie had ear mites in the hundred’s. I don’t know anything about my little guy before October of 2024. That’s when he showed up on my back porch and was in horrible shape then but I thought the vet I took him to the first time took care of all his problems but I was so wrong. The second vet was not any better because I was told he just had allergies. Neither vet looked into his ear problem like they should have but Dr. McEwan did. He was very thorough and gentle with my little baby boy and I couldn’t ask for a better place OR doctor. His staff was very friendly, kind, and supportive as well. It was a great experience. I am thankful to them for their compassion and help. It was absolutely worth the 100 mile drive to get there. Need a good Veterinarian for your furry friends, this is the place to go. You won’t be disappointed. He is now my only veterinarian I’ll take my Mookie to. Thank you all.

Negative experience: I’m writing this review to share some feedback regarding my recent experience at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital. Unfortunately, the customer service I received from the front desk staff, specifically the African American receptionist with medium-length hair, was disappointing. Her demeanor came across as unprofessional and dismissive, which is especially concerning in a field where compassion and communication are essential. Additionally, the wait times here are extremely long. On more than one occasion, I was asked to wait in my car, only to be forgotten about well past my scheduled appointment time. This kind of delay and lack of communication is frustrating and needs improvement. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as both staff professionalism and appointment efficiency are crucial to providing quality care and a positive experience for clients and their pets.

Fantastic experience: Dr. McEwan is hands down the best vet ever. He is very knowledgeable and keeps current with best veterinary practices. I've been seeing him for 16 years and couldn't be happier with the care my babies receive. They are always able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment. With several animals, I always seem to have an emergency pop up. Even though they are not an emergency vet, they will keep your pet overnight if warranted. Everyone there is extremely kind to me, and I couldn't ask for a better vet. Thank you, Palmdale Veterinary, for loving my babies and keeping them healthy!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Parking was a breeze.My experience with a brand new vet was very positive. There were a lot of pets in the waiting room and luckily I had a well-behaved dog with me, however if I had had my meatball with me I would've had to wait in the car I think The staff was friendly and efficient and professional and my dog was able to be seen quickly. Vet veterinarian was very knowledgeable and very thorough and we're hoping that Palmdale veterinary hospital is our new pet primary care. Thank you you from Boston and Tricia Grona

Fantastic experience: The receptionist was so kind and welcoming. The Dr assistant was gentle and kind and the Dr was so thorough. Drove over an hour to this vet but it was so worth it!

Fantastic experience: The staff were very caring and the Vet we saw was exceptionally personable, knowledgeable, and humane. It made the sad news we got easier to handle because of his consoling manner. There's a real difference between dollar minded corporate owned vet practices and actual owner owned practices that are there for the animals, and it shows.

Fantastic experience: If you have a bunny you definitely want to check out this vet. We drove 1h and was so worthy! Price is reasonable and the vet is really knowledgeable. I recommend him highly!!

Fantastic experience: Nice thorough check before vaccines were approved. Nails were trimmed. All in all, great job on my dog.

Positive experience: My wife and I have a yorkie named Cuddles. I love the work that the hospital does, I just wish they would use a trimmer (maybe a human nose trimmer or equivalent) to remove hair from his ears, as opposed to plucking. In my estimation, this would definitely be less painful. Blessings
