Fantastic experience: NVS at is truly outstanding! Dr Vancil has been a lifesaver for my sweet Charlie, giving us many more years together despite soft tissue sarcoma in 2018. He’s now 13 years old. I can’t say enough about his intelligence, compassion, and his ability to take time to listen to concerns and explain everything so thoroughly that you feel confident making the best decisions. Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with all of the staff at NVS. The doctors took the time to explain everything in great detail and presented treatment options for my fur baby. All of the people I encountered were very kind to me and to my pup. My dog is scared of everything and they took their time with her so that she would feel less anxious. I would not hesitate to take my baby there again in an emergency.

Fantastic experience: My dog Drago has had issues that require emergency services at all times of the day and night. I always take him here because they have proven to be the best care I can ask for. Dr. McLeod was excellent and followed up with me multiple times to ensure my dog was okay, I’m confident my dog receives the best care whenever the need arises.

Fantastic experience: They took great care of our 13 year old Corgi Husky mix. They explained every step and procedure before starting. Explaining the risks involved with each step. Fantastic experience: I had a frightening experience with my dog. She was in ICU for 48 hours. I was so comforted by all of the staff. The communication from the staff and Dr.'s was amazing. Negative experience: The people who work here are very nice, but unfortunately, one of their doctors misdiagnosed my dog, which cost him his life. Diagnosed him with a “unknown tick disease “even though all the tick panels came back negative and sent him home with antibiotics. Turned out he had hemangiosarcoma and by the time they realized that’s what it was, it was too late. I know mistakes happen, but that’s unfortunate when you’re in the specialized veterinary business to miss that one. My own vet could’ve missed it for less than $6000.

Fantastic experience: NVS is a place you never WANT to go, but if you have to go to an emergency vet, there is nobody better. An incredibly talented staff who can diagnose things other vets can’t, 24/7 care for your fur babies, an ER and an ICU plus specialists all in one building. My cat is only alive (and getting stronger each day) because of the staff and care at NVS. Big shout out to the internal medicine team Dr. Sessions and Dr. Cruz for going above and beyond for Bella and answering all of my questions.

Fantastic experience: Everything about this office was five star quality. From making the appointment and the quick time frame to come in, to the receptionist, to the vet tech, and on to see Dr Owens. The testing was smooth and thorough. We felt that our very loved dog, Damen, could not possibly have been in better hands for his care, than there. Fantastic experience: From the very first time I went to NVS, I loved them. I had been to other vet hospitals, but I wasn't impressed in the least. I wouldn't have recommended them to anyone. My miniature poodle was so sick and our vet was doing things that actually made her worse. (She has irritable bowel disease.) She was in the NVS hospital for 5 days so they could feed her intravenously and nurse her back to health. They called me every day to let me know how she was doing and what progress she had made. She has made a miraculous recovery and I couldn't be more thankful! Her internist is absolutely fabulous! I can call any time to ask a question and receive a call back within an hour or so. A member of the internal medicine team will personally call me back. I don't have to relay messages back and forth through the front desk. When I took my dog for her 3-month follow-up appointment after being hospitalized, I told the internist that I suspected my dog might be in pain. She examined her joints and didn't find anything wrong. But when she manipulated her neck, that's where the pain was. She felt like she had a slipped disc in her neck. To confirm her suspicion, she went over to their neurology department and they agreed that it was a slipped disc. A free second opinion from another specialist! I was very grateful. Every time I visit their office, I sincerely thank the vet for being so wonderful. Their front desk staff is also amazing! There are four of them, so checking in and out is super fast. They are all very polite, helpful and concerned about your fur baby. I whole-heartedly give NVS the highest possible praises!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about Nashville Veterinary Specialists. We were referred to them by our veterinary for further evaluation of our dog. They moved very quickly and got us in right away. Our sweet girl had to have back surgery for a herniated disc and thanks to Dr. Humke-Lohr she saved her from having permanent paralysis. They saw her for the first time, did a MRI and surgery all in the same day, it was amazing! Dr. Humke-Lohr called me personally several times and kept me up to date on how our girl was doing. The entire team at NVS is professional, caring, compassionate and welcoming from the first phone call and when you walk in their door you feel welcomed and cared about. They are very organized and informative! There were zero questions for me to ask as the doctor addressed every single question I had before I could even ask. I would highly recommend them for any needs that you have for your family fur baby, they saved ours!

Fantastic experience: Our visit with Nashville Veterinary Specialists was great. They were very compassionate with our senior dog providing blankets so she didn't have to lay down on the hard floor while waiting for care. Once she was able to be admitted for tests and screenings, the doctors gave us clear updates on a timely schedule, and we were able to stop by and visit with her between testing to diagnose. You can tell the staff truly care about the animals and want to provide the best service, helping owners develop an appropriate care plan for their pets.

Negative experience: $200 assessment at the door- not the problem. The problem started at calling them which was suggested to make sure that they could even take my dog… The receptionist answers & I start rambling off my puppy’s symptoms. She’s silent so I say “Should I be telling you what’s wrong?” She replied “If you’re going to bring em, just bring em in”. Pretty frank but I didn’t mind. When I arrived at above 10 pm she held the same attitude as I sobbed over the front desk barely being able to say my own name. She tells me the price of the assessment to which I respond “I’ll need to call my parents.” I don’t walk out of the lobby and within the next minute I’m at the desk asking if they take mobile pay. After a few intake questions she determines my 3 month old pup also needs a parvo test $115 to which I ask “well can he be tested for parvo first to rule it out” She said “do you have enough for the parvo test?” “Yes.” but who said I didn’t have the means? (My family in this case but who cares??) After checking his vitals the answer I got was no. I was informed by the vet tech “Because of financial constraints there was really nothing we could do.” I was taken aback. Who turns away a sick dog for something you were going to FORCE him to be tested for now he can’t even get that at minimum??! The vet tech goes on to say they had concerns that even if he tested positive for parvo there was nothing they could do because of “financial constraints” I’m using it because she said it at least 3-4 times and I never once said anything of the sort. I’ve decided to take their advice in short and watch him at home until I’m able to take him to a vet in the morning that prioritizes his care and not my ability to pay on arrival. Wish I had read the reviews and drove in the opposite direction. Just made the night more upsetting for my pup and I The only reason I felt so strongly to leave a review is because the front desk girl out right ignored me when I said Thank you walking out. It’s like she was personally upset I didn’t give them $$ or you just couldn’t pay her to care. Either way STAY AWAY!

Fantastic experience: We took our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel into the Neurology department. Sabrina and Dr. House have been incredible! They were both patient with our notes, and questions - thorough with their examine. And Dr. House came up with immediate options for Honey. Fantastic experience: The staff went over and above to care for our dog. He had to have emergency surgery for a herniated disc in his back. The doctor explained in detail what options were available and his chances for recovery. During his hospitalization we would call to check on him and the staff would provide updates on his progress. They even texted us a picture of him. We live over 2 hours from the pet hospital but wouldn’t take him anywhere else. This is a AAA+ facility

Fantastic experience: NVS provided amazing communication during the scheduling process and answered all the questions I had. When we met with the surgeon who would possibly be performing surgery for us, they were kind, understanding and very thorough with all the information they provided. They took their time to answer all the questions I had and even offered to take additional measures while we were in office with no additional cost. Although we did not pursue surgery with NVS, we had a very pleasant experience during a very difficult time and I am grateful for the help they provided and would consider them for any additional needs in the future without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: Vet Specialists were wonderful with my dog Lizzi when she need to have her left kidney removed due to a severe impaction of stones. I would highly recommend Dr. Armstrong. He explained our options and was honest about what he felt was the best decision for Lizzi. The surgery went smooth and Lizzi's recovery was quick. Fantastic experience: After 5 years of traveling from Memphis to find a board certified vet cardiologist for our 5 y.o. Female boxer with pulmonary stenosis, we heard about this practice in Nashville. This meant no more overnight travel with our two boxers . We decided to try Nashville out and told ourselves that if we weren’t comfortable that we would remain with our previous cardiologist. We arrived a bit early and immediately saw the outdoor fenced pet relief area and it was perfect for our dogs to use and burn off some nervous energy. From there everything just went flawlessly. Dr. Rodriguez saw Christa and it was obvious she had read Christa’s history. ( not always a given), she listened and reviewed the echocardiogram, discussed her plan of care for Christa and we left feeling extremely satisfied. Negative experience: I want to give less stars. But they get two for the cleanliness and being available 24/7. The issue i had with them is with the lack of results. I brought my dog in because he had blood in his stool. I got charged $200 for the exam fee, which is just them checking his vitals. They recommended blood work to be done, because that would tell them more and they would be able to give me more insight on what's going on (that cost $400). After the blood work was done, they explained what they found, but still gave me no insight on what could be the cause. They said I would have to spend $700 more dollars on an ultrasound. Where does it end?? Im sure after the ultrasound, they would say we need to run more tests for hundreds of more dollars and still come back with no answers. Not to mention, they gave me some medicine to help with his digestion (that cost $50+). Turns out, my dog had an allergic reaction to it. I called them back to see if they had an alternative for this medicine. They said just stop using it and go to the store and spend more of your money. Im over $700 in and I have zero answers and now my dog is in worse condition due to the allergic reaction. Needless to say, I had a horrible experience here. Im sure it doesnt always go like this, but for me, I will not be back.

Fantastic experience: I took my Great Dane in for a drop off appointment with Cardiology. The facility is very nice and clean. Check in was easy. The tech came out and they had time to see us instead of dropping off. My dog is anxious so that worked better for us. The tech and doctor explained everything very well so I could make decisions. My dog was very comfortable there which made me happy. I’m glad I chose to take her there!

Fantastic experience: I can’t begin to say how grateful I am for the staff at the Nashville Veterinary Specialists, from the front desk staff that greeted us, to the vet tech who took down our pets information and especially for Dr. J. Vancil. Dr. Vancil actually took the time to explain everything and ensured we understood. Dr. Vancil focused on doing the right tests versus the guessing game we’ve seen previously which cost us a lot of money, a lot of time and gave us nothing in return. From our first meeting Dr. Vancil, made us feel as if we were his only patients that day, and walked us through the possibilities in an honest manner. We have a LOT of fur babies and have had our share of veterinary experiences, so speaking from lots of experience, I can honestly say that Dr. Vancil and the staff at the Nashville Veterinary Specialists has by far given us the best experience we’ve ever had. Only a veterinarian that loves a challenge can take on a patient who can’t tell you where they hurt or how they feel. We still don’t know the outcome for our baby, Juni B, but I can say for fact that I wouldn’t hesitate to bring all of my fur babies to this clinic. Fantastic experience.

Fantastic experience: I took my cat, Muffin to be seen by Dr. Mallard. She was super friendly and explained everything. She was honest with the different treatment plans and shared her experience with her own cat. She didn’t seemed rushed to move on to the next patient. Her report was super detailed and I was able to go back to it to make sure I was giving the meds as instructed. Negative experience: Giving a 1 star because we are not able to give zero stars which is what was deserved, the experience was awful, the lack of communication from the staff working and just lack of any kind of empathy was beyond comprehension. We walked in at 6:47 pm and were quickly checked in and just as quickly charged $175 right off the bat, an hour later we were finally taken back to a room, still not even the vitals had been completed for our dog, we sat in the back room for another two hours while not even the vitals were taken for our dog, this is a total now of three hours, we had no communication at all from staff, we had to go out and ask twice and all we were told is “ you are next” we saw people that came in after us leave prior to us. We ended up just leaving after three hours and twenty two minutes of sitting there for basically nothing. That is just really unprofessional to leave a dog that could possibly be in pain waiting around for three plus hours, it’s cruel! stay away from this place. If you are understaffed and or overwhelmed, you should be honest and communicate this to people so they can try to find another place to get their beloved pet taken care of rather then just make people wait for the sake of making money!! Shame on you!

Fantastic experience: I gathered up Max and myself and we went to the emergency animal Hospital on SidcoDrive… everyone was so nice and friendly and they got Max taken care of. It took a long time, but they were very busy. I would recommend them to anybody with a pet.

Fantastic experience: We've taken two cats (1 FIP and 1 Urinary Blockage) as emergency and they were so quick to get us in. They try their best to stay at your budget or will give you options for more affordable places, but honestly, I'd rather them do something there than taking them out elsewhere. Pretty professional staff members. They're quick but it will help them out to do a mobile check in (I always forget about it). 100/10 would recommend.

Negative experience: From start to finish the experience was awful! This facility lacks communication and comprehensive skills, verbally and written.The only thing this place is interested in is dollar signs! I was personally told my animal was in an emergency situations and to bring her in. Once I get there I was told $175.00 has to be paid upfront before even seeing a doctor, get to the back explain what we have been experiencing, agreed to X-rays, was told a foreign object was in the stomach, sent home and told to come back at 5 am. We show up on time, more X-rays done was told again the object is still there. I was given 2 different estimates for same procedure with 2 different prices and couldn't get clarification or an understanding why there was a difference, then requested 1/2 payment up front ( there is absolutely nothing in the paperwork or posted only them saying it's company policy there is a sign at the front desk that states payment is due when services are render) then being told that our case would be handed over to morning shift and they would determine plan of treatment and if procedure is needed, procedure could be done in the morning or whenever they pretty much feel like it. Remember I rushed to them at 8 pm, was sent home at 1145 pm and told to come back at 5 am. If the doctor would have clearly communicated this to me on the first visit I would have left and found actual treatment somewhere else.This doctor prolonged medical treatment and withheld information that in vital for emergency care. I highly suggest going somewhere else, especially if you value care, communication and transparency in emergency situations. Unfortunately had to give a 1 star rating

Positive experience: It was an ok experience but at the cost and long drive there, I expected more answers and guidance. I felt a little rushed with no more answers than my regular vet provided. Overall, everyone was super nice and friendly but my dog has apparently a unique case. So I was referred to the Nashville for top tier treatment. My dog has gone 2 1/2 year with no issues since his surgery now we are back to square one and no one knows why. I am currently waiting on test results. I pray it's not cancer. My little guy has been through it and I am doing all I can to get him help. I would recommend Nashville Veterinary Specialists. Only con for me is the doctor who performed his surgery is no longer get there and the last surgeon talked so fast. I felt a little rushed. He had recently a echo done at his regular vet but Nashville felt there test would be more sufficient and could check for more things but they couldn't and I paid over $1600 for no additional answers. I left feeling frustrated and financially drained because I just knew I would get an answer that day. But I have to wait for more test. They did said he had mild pulmonary hypertension but there was guidance on if his medication should be changed or not. I can't always think of what to ask in the moment when I am so worried about my furbaby.

Fantastic experience: The love, care, and support (emotionally) you receive from the time you walk in those doors to the time you leave is nothing like I have ever experienced. The nurse's, staff, and Veterinarians are amazing. They listen to your concerns, go over all the information you need to know in detail, and give you the time to make the decisions you need to make. Fantastic experience: Wish I could give 10 stars. My boston terrier ingested rat poison on Thanksgiving in the early evening. I was panicked, assuming it would be especially difficult to find care given the day/time. Nashville Vet Specialists + Animal Emergency was not only open, but was also fully staffed and prepared to give my boy the care he needed. The staff: admin/front desk, vet techs, and veterinarians were exceptionally thorough and so kind every step of the way. Fantastic experience: Brought my Sphynx, Osiris, in for a preventative echocardiogram and our experience was great! The vibe in the lobby was very cozy and welcoming. The front receptionist was kind and friendly. Dr. Owens was very thorough and personable, and took time to answer all our questions and concerns. We had a wonderful experience overall! Fantastic experience: The ER took exceptional care of my kitten, Sunny, who was experiencing anaphylaxis to the rabies vaccine.This was a very scary experience for us. She ended up staying with them for 2 nights. They kept us updated, let us come see her in their ICU, and sent her home when she was ready and let me know she could come back within 48 hours if she wasn’t improving and they would pick back up where they left off. Luckily Sunny has been doing great since she got home. If it weren’t for them she would have died from the reaction. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who has a pet emergency.

Negative experience: Have sat on this review for several months. Came here in the summer of 2024 to the oncology department and saw Dr. V. Came here for about 7 or 8 months. After all my interactions and recommendations from Dr. V and the consult from the surgeon, my gut told me to get another opinion. I was referred to Blue Pearl initially from my vet, but I was able to get in sooner at NVS which was the reason I went there. I wish I would have gone to Blue Pearl from the beginning. Totally different experience from the front to the back. Dr. Lucas at Blue Pearl was fantastic. I received confident/ concrete recommendations from Dr. Lucas and the surgeon there- They had a totally different opinion about my dog regarding surgery. My dog had the necessary surgery with absolutely no issues or complications and clean margins obtained. She has been seen for her regular checkups with Dr. Lucas and is doing great. If I had stayed at NVS, I believe we would be looking at a different scenario. There were other issues I had at NVS, but this was my experience in a nutshell. I’m putting this review just to emphasize there is nothing wrong with second opinions. If I get a response from this review stating you cannot locate me in your system, I was at your facility on Sidco Drive.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE!! Please research who your techs and surgeons are. Years of experience doesn’t mean anything when your prices do not match up with the care you provide. Money hungry! I’ve been quoted by other ER’s and vet practices, and this place def overcharges for the same care. Please save your time and money and go anywhere else. Never trusting them handling my babies ever again. They prey on the fact that you’re desperate and in need. There needs to be more state regulations on this stuff, not even care for humans cost this much. Not to mention, the care isn’t spectacular, it’s decent at best. Also the surgeon is not very kind.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the customer service, support and care provided. Despite being very busy with “critical patients” my cat (who is a HORRIFIC patient) was attended to quickly and effectively!!! She was able to return home after a few hours after having a sewing needle removed from her stomach. Don’t get me wrong it was expensive, but I was provided several treatment options with costs, risks and benefits explained. Would highly recommend this clinic to anyone!! My kitty is doing fantastic and was back to her usual self within 24 hours of returning home!

Negative experience: I am very unhappy about the responses I recieved today when I was given the number to this vet by my local vet. I have a dog with severe frequent pancreatic attacks and was told this was a very good vet. Today when I called I was told instantly by the person who answers the phone for the internal medicine dept that Dr. Wang does not accept ANY new patients. YET she is the only one on the website who lists that she specializes in pancreatitis. Why does the website not say that she doesn't accept new patients? Why even have her listed? I was thrown off on the Clarksville location with two minutes of my call. My local vet referred me to Nashville but I guess that doesn't matter. Thankfully the Clarksville office was MUCH more friendly. I guess it's just a dog to some people but to me it's my family.

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with this animal hospital. Needed to see a neurologist for my Aussie who is epileptic and was having frequent seizures. They were able to get us in the same day that the primary vet referred us. He was evaluated by two neurologists who were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about epilepsy in dogs. They kept him overnight to monitor him, and added new medications that will hopefully give us better control. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: My 4¹/² year old Chihuahua bullet woke up one morning crying and within 15 minutes he couldn't use both of his left legs, it was absolutely terrifying, we were referred to Nashville veterinary specialist, where we were able to get seen quickly by a neurological doctor. I feel they provided great care, I Absolutely love Doctor Gabrielle Tidwell. She's amazing , she was so easy to talk to, explaining everything perfectly, what to expect an when to expect it. Fantastic experience: Couldn’t be happier with the attention that gave our old lady. 16.5 year old dog with some major issues all of a sudden. We thought we were going to lose her. Our primary vet referred her to NVS for an eco. And her heart was fine but other issues with breathing. They walked us through what was going on and what we can do to help. Fantastic experience: This is truly the best veterinary hospital I’ve ever been to! Every single person there cares with their whole heart. They’re kind, patient, and understanding—even when you’re standing at the front desk in tears, someone is right there with a Kleenex and genuine compassion. The ICU team was absolutely incredible and so gentle with my cat. He’s 15 years old, and I could tell he was well cared for every time I visited—he was calm and content, even when I had to leave him overnight. Fantastic experience: I was very happy with the care that we got from Dr. Hensley and everyone that was working the evening of 10/6/25. We knew our puppy face's (almost 16 yo) time was going to be up sooner than later. He most likely had a brain tumor that had metastisized from an oral tumor...started having focal seizures but coming out of them and doing well...they started coming more often and he had a big one and we knew it was time. We were 500 miles from our primary home and were actually planning on cutting the trip short to go back home to say goodbye to him. Once we knew it was time, a family member called NVS and told them our situation. We were and hour out and half way there things took a turn and my buddy was dying (love the check in online because once I knew he was leaving us I checked in to make the process "easier"). We got there and they quickly took him to the back to evaluate him and place a catheter. Being an emergency room at this time, I am sure they had other things going on. The only thing semi "bad" is that I wish they would have gotten him back to us sooner....it seemed like forever but it probably wasn't... Everyone there was nice and understood the urgency. We didn't feel rushed, although I'm sure they thought I was a nut because I wanted it over as soon as possible because I didn't want him to suffer so I was rushing them. I loved that they worked with a cremation place that does private cremation. While my ending was bad I am incredibly thankful to everyone that works there. I'm glad this place exists.

Fantastic experience: The staff, and doctor are extremely sensitive and caring. We were traveling and one of our cats was diagnosed three months ago with kidney failure and given two to four months. So we hoped for the best but assuming the worst. After the preliminary examination, the doctor patiently and gently explained what we could be facing in a day or two. Fluid around the heart and lungs would make breathing continuously worse until it became an emergency situation. We made the decision, and they gave us as much time as we wanted to say our goodbyes. After, the care, kindness and support they all offered was much appreciated. It was extremely hard on us but it can’t be much easier on the staff to perform this day after day.

Fantastic experience: My review is on the oncology team, and specifically Dr. Jarrod Vancil. I took my beloved 12ish-year-old pit rescue, Bernie, after our primary vet investigated a lump around his throat for us in the spring. During our initial visit, we found out that he had a thyroid cancer as well as a second mass in his lungs. Dr. Vancil said this was unusual and was straightfoward about best next steps and prognosis of each one. He was very educational and accepted my questons and need for all of the information, but he never made me feel like I was pestering him or talked down to me. We chose chemo pills, and the vet tech was very diplomatic about suggesting alternative pharmacies if cost was an issue. Being in a turbulent financial year, this was much appreciated! We had a checkup and it seemed as though things were working, but at the 2nd checkup, Dr. Vancil ran the xrays and was able to palpate an additional mass in his abdomen. 3 different types of cancers are highly unusual. The only way to know if it was malignant was to conduct surgery, which unfortunately for my heart, was not an option. We decided to go with palliative care and just make his last days as comfortable as possible. Bernie was humanely euthanized yesterday, and while I do NOT wish anyone who loves their pup to through this experience, if you do need an oncologist, I cannot recomment Nashville Vet Specialists highly enough. (Disclaimer: I have not had personal experience with Blue Pearl or any other local facilities.)

Positive experience: EDIT: I had a wonderful and transparent conversation with manager Kim. She was down-to-earth, empathetic, and already addressed my concerns with the team. That alone made me feel better about operations; I will return when my animals need their care. Man, I am hit or miss with NVS over the last year with my dog, Bowie. They generally seem swamped and a little disorganized, which I try to lead with grace, but when that disorganization causes scheduling delays, I get protective and frustrated. The first miscommunication was in 2024 from cardiology to internal medicine which delayed my sick dog getting a specific procedure and treatment by almost a month. However, Dr. Neuzil was excellent and apologized even though she wasn’t at fault. This year (2025) my poor girl was back and had Dr Smola take out some tumors on her neck. I ask that he remove a random mammary lump that I (luckily!) found before surgery. He agreed but stated those are usually benign. Welp. That lump was a malignant carcinoma. Dr. Smola submitted a referral to oncology. After four business days, I anxiously called wanting to book an appointment, but oncology’s next available date was four weeks later (five weeks from surgery). I was also told by the staff, I assume as a way to calm my nerves, that Bowie’s referral wasn’t marked as “urgent.” Still, I was anxious. You get told your dog has cancer, but you don’t know the prognosis or what grade the cancer is. I ended up getting an earlier appointment at BluePearl Nashville to find out Bowie’s cancer is aggressive and high-grade. That sounds urgent to me… I depend on professional opinions, especially when my animals are my world. Despite the wonderful care the staff gave my girl, I can’t help but feel disappointed that Bowie’s results from surgery weren’t handled with more swiftness to rule out urgency. Not to mention, what if I had trusted Dr. Smola’s statistical assumption and skipped getting that mammary tumor removed? Anyway, that’s my mixed review. Advocate harder for your pets, and transfer if you need.

Fantastic experience: Our sweet kitty who was only six years old unexpectedly had a stroke and passed away. The care we were provided with on the spot was incredible. Every single person we interacted with was so compassionate and kind and went out of their way to make sure they did everything they could to save her and created a safe environment where we could say goodbye to our baby. A horrible experience made easier by the amazing team here.

Fantastic experience: First time having a Fur Baby and he is a 4 months old puppy. He recently got sick and I didn’t know what to do. So I had to take him to the emergency room at around 11ish at night. They truly helped me and my Fur baby that night. Thank ya’ll

Fantastic experience: If I could give 10 stars I would. Every single person that helped us was amazing! We went here because our best friend and family member (dog) was having issues breathing and unfortunately he did pass . But how kind and sympathetic they were here was above and beyond. Did it cost a fortune, yes but worth every penny for my family member that had pass. Thank you to everyone here for doing your best!

Fantastic experience: Nashville Vet Specialist took incredible care of our Goldendoodle, Samson. The staff was extremely knowledgeable. Now I have a place to go for emergencies where I know my pet will be taken care of!

Positive experience: Very quick reception; good explanation of pet’s situation; professional; took time to answer our questions; nice waiting areas. The only thing that was a little concerning for me was that I couldn’t stay with him throughout some of the exam process. He had to be taken back but we couldn’t see him most of the time we were there. Excellent care of our pet I know is utmost, and they certainly provided that; he was the main priority. but didn’t like the disconnect from him immediately after check in. We were there for a while, too, so it was a longer wait than expected given his symptoms and situation where we didn’t get to see him. I like to know what’s going on in the assessment, etc. - each little step. Overall though, if needed we will be back. Great info of what to do if his symptoms return or we have any further concerns or questions at any point. Felt very good about that.

Positive experience: My recent visit to NVS started out frustratingly in that there is no toxicologist on staff so I had to call the ASPCA and pay them before going back to NVS and paying them. Almost doubling my cost. I understand the reason, but when your dog has consumed things you’re sure will kill them and you spend almost 2 hours trying to reach someone to get help is unfathomable. Once we made into NVS everyone was wonderful and Sprocket is happy and healthy now. It was also wonderful to have confirmation of unrelated behaviors of my dog and learn things all in the same go.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sessions has truly been a Godsend for our girl, Carly. She was diagnosed with IBD a little over a year ago. Her life has improved so dramatically since being treated! We continue to see Dr Sessions every three months to make sure she stays on track. I’m so happy we found Dr Sessions and highly recommend NVS and especially the internal medicine staff.

Fantastic experience: Our doggie was treated like royalty ,like she is used to! The staff were very professional, compassionate, and gave us facts with optimistic hesitation. We got facts and details without feeling like they were just pushing for false hopes. We loved our experience with our sick princess Bea!!

Negative experience: Literally the worst vet I have ever been too. They told me at 4 pm it would be a wait but took the 200$ deposit . At 6 pm the tech said shes next in line. At 9 pm every single person who came in after me left and was seen before my grey was ever touched. 5 hours she sat there alone in a cage because they were too greedy to admit they were busy. They were so greedy that when I realized she had been sitting unattended and got upset the tech acted as if I was the issue. 6 hours not one update. Literally every single person seen after me left before me or my cat was ever seen. They literally could have just said they had too many criticals but no greedy as all and had me and my pet waiting. Doesn’t help the staff looks at you like you’re an idiot when asking questions or updates. They shouldn’t be allowed to practice at all.
