Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my dog, Harvey, to Shorewood for 8. + years now. And more frequently now that he is about 12 years old. The staff have been so wonderful to Harv. His first few years (after adoption) he was really scared of people. So out of caution, I muzzled him when we went in. Each doctor and tech were so patient, often sitting on the floor with him for a bit before his exam and often offering him some squeeze cheese, just to build that trust. Now, I can take him, unmuzzled and he is great for the vets and doc’s. They have always been so thorough and fast to respond when I made a call to determine if we needed to come in or not. I love, LOVE my dog and want the BEST for him and Shorewood Animal hospital has been just that.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Rosene was a great vet that ran a great veterinary practice. I took my golden retriever there for around the first 6 years of his life, until we moved out of state. Smurf’s first visit as a puppy when he was around 2 months old, to getting fixed, dealing with hot spots and ear infections. The clinic was always very compassionate and I wish I had access to a primary vet clinic as great as Shorewood animal hospital was. A couple years ago, I was in Wisconsin for a couple months and was able to have Dr. Rosene examine Smurf for a few bumps. Dr. Rosene had retired from performing surgery but he had confidence that his associate vets would be successful in performing the surgery. I would absolutely trust this clinic with my dog’s health.

We recently moved to the area and, sadly, our dog was nearing the end of his life.. The care, dignity, and empathy shown to us during such a difficult time were incredibly touching. Dr. Shearburn was especially supportive, and her kindness is something we will always remember. If you have any concerns about your beloved animals, this is absolutely the place to go.

Experiencia fantástica: My new kitten was pretty stressed to be in the carrier in the lobby and had an accident. As soon as desk staff were alerted, we got into an exam room and got a litter box. We received help cleaning up with kindness and patience. Our new Veterinarian was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with her new panicky client.

I’d also like to recognize her tech Brittney for helping me along this difficult day with empathy and the support I needed. We then took her home for a few days and returned to have her euthanized. Experiencia fantástica: I’m very happy taking my Siberian cat to Shorewood Animal Hospital for the first time. The receptionist was very friendly & checked us in quickly. I loved that the dog & cat waiting areas were separated. My cat normally had anxiety when dogs come near him so the separation was perfect. We were seen in less than 5 minutes from the time we checked by Dr. McCue. She was so good with our cat and listened to all my concerns & questions. I’m a fan! My dog had been vomiting more and losing weight, and unfortunately, he passed away in September. During his final months, Dr. Tomaro provided compassionate and timely care. Experiencia fantástica: I am so glad that we found this vet. My cat of almost 13 years was sneezing and was getting pretty sick, and we decided to take him to Shorewood after feeling unsure about another vet. Dr. Joyce is one of the most kind, warm human beings I have ever met. Not only was he empathetic and compassionate towards our cat, he was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to us so clearly. Over the course of the month, our cat got worse and needed a dental procedure. His procedure pointed out that he most likely had an aggressive type of nasal tumor/cancer and it caused severe problems in his face and teeth. Dr. Joyce called us with the news in the most compassionate manner. Although it was truly the most devastating call to have received, the amount of respect and care in his call still stands out to us. When the time came to put our cat to sleep, Shorewood Animal Hospital handled it in the most respectful way. We were taken to a separate room where we did not have to face anyone else in the waiting room during such a difficult time except for the staff. Dr. Joyce and the rest of the staff showed love for our cat in those moments the same way we showed love for him throughout his life. His kind words and reassurance and gentle care all the way to the end for our cat made the process easier, although it is not easy whatsoever. I can’t explain enough how amazing they all handled everything. We are so grateful to this day to have moved to Milwaukee just months before, because it meant that at the end of my cat’s life, he had the best care he could have ever been given. When we got our cat’s ashes, the ashes were all placed into a beautiful wood box with a name plate and a clay piece with his foot prints. It felt like everything was at peace and he was returned back in the most respectable way possible. Thanks to Shorewood Animal Hospital for treating our cat with such love and compassion, we have been able to process and understand his passing with much more ease and comfort. Please rely on them to give the best care you could get for your pets.

We've been bringing our pets, Pico & Chloe, to SAH since 2022 and have had a positive experience every single time. The check-in process is smooth and efficient, and the techs and doctors are consistently friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. One staff member sometimes even sings to our dog Pico during visits--it's the sweetest gesture and helps calm him down. Most recently, we brought in our 14-year-old Yorkie-Poo who was struggling with allergies and some breathing issues. Dr. Joyce was helpful, patient, and thorough. With an antibiotic injection and some allergy medication to take home, she's now doing much better. We're so grateful for the compassionate and expert care our pets receive at SAH.

A day after he died I get a text asking how my experience was. Very low blow and an insult to injury. From Dr Tomaro, Dr Whang, Dr. Joyce as well as several others we have seen upon more urgent matters we have always been treated kindly, felt our animals were loved and cared for, and received top quality eterinary care. Even when first approaches didn’t seem to work—like our 11 year old cats journey through diabetes treatments, to more frightening experiences with cancers in both of our previous dogs, all the staff were determined to find the treatment that worked , consult with specialists at Blue Pearl, and ultimately pass us along to more specialized vet services when needed. Vet techs, the care team members, and reception staff work to make a pleasant and stress free environment. I highly recommend this practice if you live in.the area.

The staff and Dr. Lorin Shearburn took the time to listen to my concerns and confusion with previous treatment at another vet. They ran tests and started her on a new ointment. The vet also took the time to show me how to administer the meds. I really appreciated their kindness and willingness to explain everything thoroughly. I will definitely be going back!

They always follow up in a compassionate manner and truly care about our sweet old girl. We're very grateful. Update: In October 2024 Shorewood Animal Hospital helped our 18 1/2 year-old girl cross the rainbow bridge. The compassion and kindness was immeasurable. It's now March 2025. We just adopted our sweet 9-month-old salvation/pointer mix, Pongo, from MADACC. Shorewood Animal Hospital kindly covered our first visit with Dr. Joyce to support adoption (and sent us home with lots of goodies). I just can't say enough about how wonderful they are and would encourage anyone looking for a place that has compassionate and excellent medical care for their pet to go there.

We have a very anxious German shepherd and they're great with her! They were absolutely wonderful when my mom had to put her dogs down. They understood that our animals are family.
