Experiencia fantástica: I enjoyed a satisfying resolution to a “staff to client” communication problem. It did not impact the veterinary care I received, which was top notch. I had an appointment time and waited longer than I would have liked but the wait is worth it. Wait was 21 minutes from appointment time to the time I was taken to a room. Staff works hard and conscientiously to achieve satisfaction of the owners of the pets they care for.

Experiencia negativa: it's overpriced like 2x or 3x usual price, before you commit to an expensive payment, go to a different vet. I almost guarantee you it will be cheaper more professional, there is nothing special about this place. They also seem a bit sketchy and charge way too much for tests / want you to do tests on the day of surgery not before, while locking you into paying $100 deposit for a surgery appointment which is non refundable if you miss it. I'm writing this as a yugioh master duel player asmongold watcher so you can trust my review. I know it can be difficult to pick a vet to go to but, don't choose this one. I went here to ask about having a large tumor removed on my chihuahua mix. there was constant talk of animals dying at this place as well I recommend going to advanced animal hospital greenfield loomis rd. the surgery went well there and it's cheaper + better

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend St Paul's Veterinary Clinic for your dear pets. My wait time has never been very long when I don't have an appointment, and when I do, it is always right on time or earlier. The staff from the front desk to the techs and doctors is professional, courteous and knowledgeable.

Experiencia fantástica: I was a walk in. Got there 45 min before opening. Other people showed up at 9:40. I was seen right away. Staff was excellent, even though they were slammed with people and phone call from the get go. Very profession and friendly. I would (and will) come here again.

Experiencia fantástica: Yes, wait times are long. Yes, it's VERY busy. BUT the care is phenomenal! Each vet tech is kind, patient, and truly waits for the animal to settle down as much as it can before they begin the examination. They are beyond helpful and go out of their way to help even if you are a first time patient as I was when I took my dog there in an emergency situation. Dr. Zach is wonderful, and he is straight to the point, does not upsell or try to persuade you in any way other than the best care for your dog. I could not believe how much they cared for my dog but also for me. They got her into surgery right away, and they gave me updates throughout the day. That was over two years ago, and I will recommend St. Paul to anyone as their primary vet. I think price is irrelevant when it comes to the care they have provided me and my dog. A word of advice, because it is an inner city vet, I would anticipate about a two hour window between arrival and departure. This also sometimes depends on the time you need to take your pet in to see them.

Experiencia negativa: Very expensive, lots of add on services. The esthetics of the office improved but the service left much to be desired. I was asked for a down payment the day before the procedure, then another payment the day of the service and they had not even touched my dog. I was told that my procedure would be a drop off, however, it was not. Definitely blaring new management but less desirable.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. I’ve gone to this vet for years without issue. Apparently, they are under new ownership so they said. Over the years I have dropped off bags and bags of towels and blankets for the animals. *25% increase in costs *there were 9 employees at the front desk (7 too many) as all they were doing were talking to each other *The snotty girl referred to my dog twice as “your dog”, never had a vet, not call my dog by its name when she had it right in front of her. * When I called for the appointment, I explained that last month I had got a quote for dental work and blood work and would it be honored. When the doctor came in the room, I asked him about it again and he said yes it will be honored. * When the exam was done, I looked at my invoice from the same snotty girl, and she did not like that. I was questioning the charges. * They charged me more for the bloodwork than was on my quote, she went to get the doctor. He said no only the dental work we would honor. Well you have to have blood work to do the dental work so why he wouldn’t disclose that to me, I don’t know. But that is not right. * He was going to give my dog a prescription and again when I looked at the invoice, the drug was included in the invoice, I let the girl know that again she made a snotty face went back to the doctor. He came back out and said we’ll take that off. I know you just asked for a prescription, not the actual drugs from here. * Lastly, they charged me $25 on my last invoice for Disposing of two little needles from the rabies and Lyme disease shot . it was only supposed to be one six dollar charge again. I brought it up to her. She went and got the doctor. Doctor said we won’t refund that. * I said I don’t really think that’s fair that that mistake was made so I’m not going to have the dental work done here. They basically threw away $650 service for a $25 credit if that isn’t horrible Customer Service I don’t know what is I’ll never donate another thing there and I’ll never go back. I would suggest anybody going there really check out their bills and do some price comparisons because I did that and found EverVet and Wauwatosa was extremely more reputable and competitive on their prices.

We get miscommunication happens, we’re humans, Josh from mgmt. was so helpful, communicated in-depth for me and sincerely saved a life. Thank you St. Paul team for helping my mom’s cat out. All professional, reasonable prices. Thank you Josh for going above and beyond. All of us were beyond relieved at the end of the day. I really am grateful that my moms cat can come home to her.

Experiencia fantástica: Took our three cats here after being recommend the clinic by a friend. I have never felt more confident in a vet before Dr. Rieck. He is SO WONDERFUL with the cats and gained their trust pretty fast even my spicy kitty let him hold her. That is unheard of. He also took the extra step and actually examined my cats eye that I've been asking other vets to do for year. The pricing was so fair and made me even more confident that this clinic is in this for the animals. We will be taking our animals here for as long as we live in Milwaukee. Experiencia negativa: I took my dog there for 3 shots because he had already had his rabies shot the vet gave him another rabies shot that’s all I asked for because I didn’t bring the paperwork they gave him another rabies shot. Charge me 64.00 dollars. I asked for a refund because he had the rabies shot but they refused to refund my money for that shot. After all these years I would think they were more professional. Make sure you pay attention to what they r doing to your animals. They have lost my business. I assume they have to pay for their remodel.

Experiencia fantástica: I was so surprised by this place. I needed to get my cat in quick, and my normal vet couldn’t fit him in, so I gave this place a chance. Not in the greatest part of town, and doesn’t look like much from the outside, but they were so welcoming from the second I stepped foot inside. The vet techs and vet herself took their time examining my cat and listening to what I had to say. I am so impressed, I will now be solely going here.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog in for a lump that had been growing for almost a year. After examining him, the veterinarian recommended surgery, and I agreed to proceed. I was informed that a $100 deposit was required to schedule the surgery, which I paid. I specifically asked whether a down payment was required on the day of drop-off and was told that full payment would be due at pickup, not beforehand. I arrived at 10:00 a.m. as scheduled, but was not called back until about 45 minutes later. After completing paperwork, I was then told that a down payment was required to proceed with the surgery. When I explained what I had previously been told, the manager came out and essentially said, “Too bad you were misinformed by our staff, but we can’t perform the surgery without money down.” As a result, I was unable to leave my dog for surgery and had wasted over an hour and a half due to their internal miscommunication. This showed a clear lack of respect for clients’ time and poor coordination among staff. I also observed other clients waiting over an hour in the lobby, which seems to be a pattern rather than an isolated issue. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and avoidable. I would recommend choosing a veterinary clinic that communicates clearly and respects both your time and your pet’s needs.

Very attentive with my needs because I was a mess. Very reasonable pricing and they cared about my feeling. Experiencia negativa: Was told that my cat needed his rabies shot in order to be seen by a vet. He got his shots and was scheduled for a checkup, I was unable to go due to work but come to find out they did more than a checkup and gave him the same shot he had just gotten 2 months prior that’s meant to be for a year and an unnecessary $79. Also to note I had gotten a call 3 weeks PRIOR to his appointment to confirm that he had gotten his shots so that he would be seen for the checkup. I tried calling to see why they would give him the same shot as they’re easily able to check on their records and was told that they don’t check the records and that it wasn’t filed and that they weren’t at fault for the unnecessary costs al though they should have all this information already on their records. Very disappointing on the fact that nothing was done.

Experiencia negativa: Do not take your pets here!! I was told over the phone that getting my cat neutered would cost around $305 the lowest, but to bring my cat in to be checked first before they give me a quote. When I took him in for the exam, I waited almost 40 minutes to be seen. When we finally seen the vet (Zach reick) he asked if we were looking to get the cat neutered and I said yes. He lured the cat out of the cage, put him on the scale, and gave him 2 vaccines without my consent or telling me what was happening. I was then sent to the front desk to set an appointment for the surgery and the lady at the desk handed me a receipt with an amount I owed of $184 , then said the next appointment would be a booster shot, and bloodwork which would be $200+ and none of that is included in the $300+ neuter cost. The whole thing was a scam and I will never go back!!

Experiencia negativa: Flamboyant Asian/Latino dude at the front desk is very rude and gives unprofessional and unsolicited opinions about what’s expensive to someone and what’s not. I spent a bunch of money on my new puppy all day and came here to get her 2 shots that came out to over $100. I had said TO MY DOG AND NOT TO HIM “you’re so expensive” in a playful way. The guy scowls at me and says “actually you got a discount”. I wanted to cuss him out but I mirrored his scowl right back and said “oh”. Because who asked him??? That was really repulsive, cringy, and just outright disgusting behavior. After that I didn’t see him again the last few times I went to this location before finding a new and much better vet hospital/clinic. I hope he got fired. No one wants to be made to feel dumb or broke because he thinks it’s okay to show his behind, especially not after being so excited about welcoming a new fur baby into their life!

Experiencia negativa: One of the most useless clinics in the city, tell you need to "walk in" only to be put on a list to be seen 4 hours later. 3/3 times my pet needed to be seen & doesnt matter the hour of the day they are "full" I never experienced a more useless clinic posted up in west milwaukee but 10/10x is not available

Experiencia fantástica: I took my 14-year-old cat there a few days ago for a walk-in appointment for an infected/ruptured anal gland, after she hadn't eaten in over a day. The staff was awesome, everyone was really professional and Dr. Conlin was very straightforward with what was happening and what my options were. I had to wait a few hours to be seen as a walk-in, but they still were as prompt as possible without being rushy or rude. The entire thing (walk-in exam, injected anti-nausea meds and antibiotics, fluids, and pain meds) cost me less than $300. I will absolutely be making St Paul my new vet!

Experiencia negativa: I had to pick up meds and when they called I asked twice what the hours were. They said open until 8 (both times) I got there during their lunch hour and was refused entry. I totally understand people need lunch but it would be helpful to have known that and been told that before I left. The lady at the door that refused me said they will start telling people. I wound up waiting and u kept waiting over 20 more minutes past the lunch for one medicine.

Experiencia negativa: If you love your pet please don't take them to St Paul Veterinary Clinic. Our dog has terminal cancer and the care we received was the Absolute worst! Actually if you can get in to see one of their vets which is impossible because they cant seem to keep a vet staffed.Please as a pet owner who loves her dog I implore you do NOT go to St Paul. The WORST ever. I had to give them 1star just to post
Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough good things about this vet clinic! I came in for a C-section for my Frenchie’s first and last litter, and from start to finish, the entire process was smooth and stress-free. The team was incredibly helpful and compassionate something that truly matters when you’re trusting someone with your dog and her puppies. They delivered the litter safely and made sure both mom and pups were healthy. The follow-up care was just as amazing. The stitches healed perfectly, and the staff continued to check in and support me every step of the way. If you have a French Bulldog and want a clinic that truly knows how to handle their unique needs, this is hands down the best place to go. Highly recommended!
Experiencia negativa: My dog was getting weed build up so I took my dog in to st Paul they told me he had a ear infection I was spending alot of money for medication and ear clean out but the medication wasn't working so I would take him back to the vet. The Dr. said it was his dog food that I needed to change his food and I paid for more medication which was the same medication. After changing his food he was still having the problem with his ear on the left side. I got fed up called a few times unhappy but I decided to take my dog to another vet on burleigh the Dr. looked at it prescribed my dog some medication after cleaning his ears. I used it a sfew times notice my dog not shaking his head or rubbing his ear IT WORKED I FINALLY WAS GIVING THE RIGHT MEDICATION...Thanks to my new vet clinic
Experiencia negativa: I really struggled with what to write here. I think they mean well, I've heard great stories, and the reps were amazing and accomodating. I drove two hours to come here because I was told they were one of the most affordable and go the extra mile. I am only able to pay for my pit's health emergency as is because of a GoFundMe, so it was worth the drive to make every dollar count. The doctor was cold, snappy, and said if it wasn't pancreatitis, it was probably cancer and I'll need to see an Internist. A corporate urgent care (usually not considered the hallmark of diagnosticians as a general rule of thumb) has done so much more with the same or less financial investment, and actively supported me along the way. I regret every aspect of coming here unfortunately, but am trying to reserve a little bit of the rating as I know the doctor was new and the team really tried to make up for it. They had to puncture his bladder twice for his urine draw and he was sore for days. I couldn't afford the culture or a shot that would have been twice as effective as the pills but not much more in cost and they shrugged. The doctor told me she saw rod bacteria in his sample but didn't document it, so I was dead in the water trying to get the urgent care to help me with a stronger antibiotic after he had new complications and discharge the next day. They might be miracle makers and help a lot of people; me and my boy just weren't one of them.
Experiencia negativa: Absolutely disturbing! They honestly don’t even deserve one star. I’ve been bringing my cat here since he was a baby he’s 4 now. With him having two major surgeries here I completely trusted this place and dr. Well I learned today!! We were there for a checkup. Long story short-they took him out of room in his carrier and brought back empty carrier and A TAPED UP BOX!!!! I THOUGHT MY CAT WAS DEAD!!!!! My daughter thought her cat was dead!!!! He was a mess. He was covered in other animal hair, OILS, and he stunk like dirty wet dog. They didn’t do anything I asked to be done stating that my cat un managable or maybe they are incompetent!!!! I was told he got loose, so they chased him, scared the shit out of him then call him unmanageable. There’s so much more not enough space. Don’t bring your animal here. By the way this nonsense cost me $450 and they gave me a different animals paperwork. Do Better St Paul Vet!!! We will not be back, you traumatized him!!

Experiencia negativa: We have been taking our Dog here since he was 2 months old, he’s 8 years old now and since he was 5 he was having Complications with his weight and not wanting to eat. So we took him in and had all the recommended tests done, and for the past 3 years St Paul’s Veterinary Clinic has been Wrongly diagnosing my dog, we find out 3 years down the line that he has Lung cancer, and he’s already in stage 4, they wanted to charge Us 14,000$-20,000$ just for the surgery. Don’t you think as a Compassionate human being that cares for animals that St. Paul would have did something? Yea I thought so too, now We just got back today from having to put our baby down and did St. Paul even think about reaching back or trying to figure something out? Of course they didn’t! So now I will be looking for Legal action instead, and best believe the best in Wisconsin will be looking into this. You guys let our family member die because you people were too lazy and incompetent to do the right thing. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ST PAULS!

Also last time he was seen was last yr in September ever since we were trying and trying NOW LOOK AT MY BABY!!! . Im taking everything to court!

The doctor said we could operate him or put him down chose to operate him and he died 3 days later we called on the 3rd day while he was still alive with concerns and were told to bring him in the next day but it was too late. I've brought other animals here before and the staff has always seemed like they could care less what happens to pets. I wouldn't bring your pet here any other place would do they might charge extra but what does your pets life mean to you.

Experiencia negativa: Took our beloved dog into this clinic. Found out our dog had chewed a toy that got stuck in his intestines and need to be removed immediately to save him. Was told they could operate on our dog to save him and due to lack of communication and lack of overnight observation due to him having a major procedure, our dog died under their care. They don't understand how much hurt that has brought to our family and kids and now still having to pay for the vet bill. Dr. Reick Zach, told us about his lacked communication on his behalf and our dog died alone, when he could have sent our dog somewhere else to be properly treated while recovering. We had asked him if we could bring him home after surgery he stated no because he needed to stay overnight for observation, but there was nobody there with our baby for hours and he died alone. He was more than just a dog to us and our family; he was our family. We didn't even get to say our goodbyes because he was already gone. It hurts us to the core that we are dealing with this type of pain, but we wanted to share our experience with you about them. Long.Live.Our.Beloved.Dog! He will always be with us and he will never be forgotten! :(

Dr. Zach, the vet techs, and front desk staff are all fantastic at what they do. Our dog has been here several times over the last few years, and she actually wants to go in. She’s had many shots here, but doesn’t associate St Paul’s Veterinary with pain. She wants to go and get love and attention from the staff! Accurate ideas of what the issue is and on point diagnoses, and they’re all very helpful with getting the best price for medications. Helped me set up my Chewy account and auto-shipments. He is always very comfortable around the doctor and the staff that take care of him. We will continue to go there because it is a great place to get the medical help for our baby, especially when he isn't feeling so well sometimes. Experiencia negativa: I left my information over a week ago to get records for my cats as we are in the process to adopt another one and they are requesting records. I am so frustrated that no one has email them to me after a week of waiting. We lost the adoption since our application can't be approved without those records of our old cats. Their website sucks and when you call during business hours nobody answers.
Experiencia negativa: I’m officially done with this place. I’ve been trying for monthsss to get my dog in for vaccinations. I’ve wasted multiple days off of work just to be told a different reason why they can’t take walk ins every time. Their new process of taking walk ins is impossible to plan for and for someone who has to medicate their dog prior to appts because of anxiety, this doesn’t work. Today I spent from 1-5 calling in. At 2 I was told they were going to lunch and to try again at 3:30. I came back and called for over an hour, no answer. Their service has never been great, I’d expect a warmer atmosphere from a vets office. The walk in option just worked well for us but that’s non existent now. They’ve also continuously gotten more expensive every year so it’s time to go somewhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: I love them. It's a hassle with how they work things (aka it is an urgent care, and you can't always be seen), but I have never had a bad trip for any of my vet hating cats. If I'm broke they only do what I can, if I can do more they do, and I'm never spending $900 for a simple thing. And I've never had less than amazing care. Experiencia fantástica: The surgeon here saved my cat Chiyone life. HE had cancer of the leg. And it needed amputation. It was not costly. And the staff here knew about my sisters untimely death. Experiencia negativa: I'm very upset. I spent 4 hours sitting in this place last Thursday. My cat couldn't even stand up when we got him out of . the carrier it sat in that carrier for so long. I spent a whole lot of money on a blood panel test and a uranalyst in which I was supposed to receive the results on Monday. So when I call after trying to reach them for 4 hours, they finally answer the phone and tell me there was a mishap with our tests and now we have to wait even longer, for those very expensive tests results. My advice is, don't waste your money on this place. Take it to some real veterinarians and get the stuff done properly. They tell you, you'll get the results. The next day and you really received them a week later, you gotta guard, you'll see if I them on wednesday like they said. The extra $100 that would it cost to have these tests taken at my cat's original vet? I should have just went there and paid that extra 100. Because it's not worth saving any money. Going to St. Paul's veterinarian clinic. They should be ashamed of theirselves. Nobody ever answers the phone there. And every time you turn around, they're closing the place down early.

Experiencia negativa: Staff put me on hold, while I was sitting in their parking lot waiting to check in, for 20 minutes. Then when they finally picked up the phone, they told me they were no longer accepting patients for the day. This was after calling ahead, before getting my dog in the car and bringing him to the clinic. This was also 2 1/2 hours before their posted closing time. Staff was rude when I asked about getting records for when I find a new vet. I’d recommend going anywhere else.

Experiencia negativa: My dog transitioned today at St.Pauls at the hands of Zackary Rieck. All her labs were good, she was seen at an emergency vet hospital because of an eye ulcer which ruptured….called around and no other vet would be able to get her in so we decided to go with St. Paul. There price was much lower.. which should of been a red flag., She was taken back around 10am. They stated they would call around 2pm no one called… I began to worry and called them..they stated she was worked up and the doctor would call us back.. He had just started the surgery that was around 4 pm..Only to call and say that she died. Vet claimed “All blood work was good she was fine they put the breathing tube in she started having trouble breathing. He took out the tube she still had trouble… tried putting the tube back in her lynx was collapsed. He couldn’t put it back in…she stopped breathing. Did CPR. Couldn’t get a tube in.” My Frechie died. She been put under before and didnt have trouble. I don’t know what he did wrong but please be careful. They still charged for killing her.. I am so broken..along with my kids and family. She was truly loved. RIP Sylver P

Experiencia negativa: I've been a client of St. Paul for over 40 years, a corporation bought it, painted the walls and lost customer service and compassion for our fur babies. The vet/vet tech that handled my 9 lb chihuahua couldn't draw blood for a heartworm test and continued to poke around in the vein, sliding it around under this skin and even switched to a smaller butterfly needle, still wasn't successful, that's when I asked them to stop. I asked for heartworm pills, and I realized that he needed the test and I ask the ver/vet tech get someone else who knew how to draw blood, when another vet came in, she said "oh you used to see Jenna, she's not here anymore, and you don't get to hold your pet eat cause your dog could bite you" but I always held mine, or sat with them, it kept stress levels down and they actually didn't mind coming to the vet, and had no idea that the rules have now changed so I said ok, you can hold him with your vet tech but I'd like you to stay in the room we were in, with me in it, and she decided my pets treatment was done there. They did do a test on my pets ear cause we suspected an ear infection, they refused to give me results or treatment. My money spends anywhere, so that's why I went elsewhere, I will never go back! I'd rather have careful service than painted walls without compassion.

Experiencia fantástica: I think they are awesome 2 years ago my dogs got into a really bad fight. they were awesome and very careful getting the dogs in because they were injured badly. then when my dog had to have some of her teeth taken out they were really good. they also were awesome when my girl had to have a lump removed. I will only use them yes there is a long wait but worth it In my opinion.

Ridiculous that they only had one doctor when the weekends are probably the busiest. Especially being a walk-in clinic. Why wouldn’t you have more staff!

He took time to get to know Titan before examining him and sat down on the floor to be on his level. It was very sweet. Dr. Zack also listen to our concerns. Experiencia negativa: Thought my dog was coming in for emergency surgery due to her dire condition, was recommended to have first thing in am , time clock ticking ! Called at 145 still not in surgery yet was dehydrated!! Yes because she was NPO since 12 AM! Got call to pick up at 6 needed emergency care I’m ER, only to have her die in the am! Not sure they comprehended the gravity of the situation! No doctor spoke to us Nothing only the tech who was nice but you could she was worried like hers your dying dog , bye ! Should have never been discharged!

Experiencia negativa: After calling and being told I could come in to pick up a prescription for my cat and they would be open until 4:30, they were closed at 3:50. When I pulled up they were all in their cars zipping out of the parking lot. I get that it is great from the workers stand point to be able to leave early. It is rude and disrespectful to the customer that was told they would be there.

Experiencia fantástica: We really like taking our cats to see Dr. Zack Rieck. He’s got a very sweet domineer in addition to being quite informative. No unnecessary testing and the price for medications + exam was very reasonable. We’ve been coming here for years and we’ve also brought dogs. The only downside is the long wait time due to it being a walk-in clinic. However, once we were taken back, I feel like he really took his time with us and answered all of my questions with patience and compassion.
Experiencia fantástica: Best Vet I've ever been to. EVERY SINGLE PERSON who worked there was not only polite and accommodating but never guilted me about my very sick dog. They helped me find the funding to pay! Not one person I talked to at EVERY OTHER vet in town ever suggested care credit, these guys did. I was able to get my beloved dog the care she needed and was overwhelmingly satisfied with that care. Thank you to every one there. 4 paws up highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: My sick kitty and I waited 3 1/2 hours to see the doctor and still I'm giving St Paul Vet 5 stars. That's because the doctors here are very good caring people who do a great job. But they're extremely overworked because there aren't enough vets right now. The office staff does a great job managing the never ending stream of pets. I would recommend!
Experiencia positiva: I had to help my feline friend over the rainbow bridge today. Never an easy thing. Same service as the $400-$600 places. I paid $150. I deeply appreciate this place being there for my friend and I when we needed their help, they were nice to us.
Experiencia positiva: I've been coming here for years for shots only. The people are super friendly it's just the area and the people going in and out that are different. My last visit there was a woman taking her dog out couldn't get him in the car was pulling kicking the dog which broke my heart so I offered to help lift the dog into the car. The dog was so dirty and stinky I felt so bad for it.

Experiencia positiva: They are a first come first serve clinic. I chose this vet because anyone else is at least a month out and I needed to get my new rescue cat in for shots and to look at an abscess. This clinic does state on their website that they are extremely short handed and to call ahead of time. I called 30 min before I showed up and they said "we are not that busy". I get there and maybe 2-3 cars are in the parking lot. I waited about an hour in my car before I was called in. Then I waited another 2 hrs 10 min before it was my turn. Other people were seen right away upon entering/showing up in car...did they get a call at home when their turn was up? Who knows. Office visit was $69. Rabies 3yr $74. FVRCP vaccine $56. Vet didn't weigh her, and I forgot to ask about any special shots for the 8 mo old cat. The people at the front desk were friendly and patient. Would I come here again? Probably not. Just an FYI, if you choose this vet, make sure you have the whole day available to wait.
Experiencia negativa: We been using this vet for years for all three of my dogs. I never had any issues with them until Covid happened. This place went downhill so fast. Excuse is always we are understaffed. My teddy bear stopped eating hard food so my feeling was that something wrong with his teeth. I called and they scheduled an appointment one week out. I asked them why so long they said that was first available one. We waited a week they called to confirm one day ahead that I was still bringing him in. Just as they asked I brought him in at 10am and I was told I would be dropping him off for the procedure. At 9:45 I was in their parking lot. No food since midnight the day before. First excuse was doctor is not in they can not take him till 11-11:30 I said you asked me to bring him at 10 I have to go back to work. Finally they took him at 10:45 and said they will be calling me once doctor examines him. No one called me, I called them around 1 at that time I was asked if I want to do blood test because doctor doesn’t see anything with his teeth that would prevent him from eating dry/hard food. I asked if they have xray machine there that they could do xray and see I was told it was out of order. Out of order??? How are you taking appointment for oral care without xray machine working! They said they will take blood test and call me if something is not normal. No news is good news. I haven’t heard from them so I called them at 6pm to see when I can pick him up. I was told they didn’t get to him yet because they had other emergency come up. Emergency?? We had an appointment we waited for one week! I call again at 7:45 because it shows on google they close at 8pm no answer. I drive over there call again from parking lot finally someone answers the phone and states they haven’t done anything with him. At this point I told them I am picking him up. My poor dog hasn’t eaten anything since the night before that’s what we were told no food after midnight. He sat in the cage all day over nothing! I walked in there and then they tell me it’s normal for people or animals not to eat on the day of procedure. That’s why surgeries are scheduled in the mornings not at night ! They offered to keep him overnight so the doctor can get to him after such a busy day. Absolutely not you will not touch him as a fill in job at night and then you want to keep him overnight there for no reason. Oh and then I had to pay 350$ for the blood test they did to make sure he was ok to do procedure on that never got done! Never ever again I will take any of my animals here! Go somewhere else if you don’t want to be treated like you owe them something!

The negative now is that you are best off calling in advance and scheduling an appointment because they don't let you in the building without you calling in to schedule an appointment.

Experiencia negativa: My puppy was very sick and we brought her in yesterday, everyone was super criendly apart from the rude woman answering the phone. We paid for our visit and for the next 3 days, that THEY told us to come back for the next few days for fluids and anti nausia since she has Parvo. Get there at noon today about 24 hours after we brought her before. Call and the man on the phone is extremely rude and apparently lacks sympothy and basic knowledge, seems to also lack common sense. He tried to yell at me, because somehow its my fault their understaffed. Saying they cant see my puppy that THEY told me to bring in and I already paid for the visit prior. I was told that ill be seen last because my puppy has parvo, as if she wasnt already in there yesterday in a room and around other animals. aswell as around staff who would also be seeing other animals. I shouldnt be sitting here with a puppy in 80° weather for 6 hours. The staff here should be careful aswell with how they speak to people, because not everyone is going to put up with the attitude.

I called on Saturday to ask if I can bring my puppy in for shots; the receptionist tells me no I cannot because they are short doctors. So, I ask for weekday hours and they tell me they close at 8:00 pm, to just go there and let them know when I am in the parking lot. So, today is Monday, I get to the parking lot at 6:00, right after work, and AGAIN, they tell me no, my puppy cannot be seen because they are short staffed, and they stopped taking patients at 5:00. Seriously? As much as I explained that I cannot be there any earlier, and that's why I came there because of they're hours, the receptionist did not care. She was so impolite, and rude to the point that she said if I did not like how they operate, that I should take my business elsewhere. I couldn't believe it; I thought that was a community clinic, and I was following all protocol. I arrived within the times specified on the phone, I called once I drove there, as I was told to do, yet, two hours prior to closing time they turn me away?! I don't get it. If they do not have the staff to operate, it should be listed somewhere, cut their hours, or see patients by appointment only, so people like me, who leave work as soon as possible to make it there within their hours of operation, do not end up wasting their valuable time driving over there. That's just pathetic!

Experiencia negativa: Still making customers sit outside like during COVID precautions. Went on a Friday 3 hours before closing. Refused to take any more appts due to not enough staff. Returned on Saturday morning. Was refused service and care for my pet once again supposedly due to staff shortages. Staff answering the phones were very polite & apologetic but that doesn't give my pet the medical care it needs. Been going to this clinic 40 plus years. Always used to get wonderful service & care. Sad to see it has gotten so bad. Will definitely be going elsewhere. I wish them good luck in the future.

Experiencia negativa: If you treasure your pet, I recommend you reconsider getting service from this clinic; even though the veterinarians and veterinarian technician team is good. I also say this as previous customer of three years no longer interested in coming back. This is due to the team responsible of taking calls and maintaining service queue. My last experience allowed me to see that that they are incompetent in maintaining effective customer service and are willing to be directly disrespectful towards customers when they are questioned. If that particular team is part of the clinic, you should ask yourself if you are willing to trust them in providing the care and respect your pet needs if they are willing to treat customers as so.
Experiencia negativa: My 10 year old red nouse pit bull die 3 days after spay at this place. reason we took my dog to this place was that my dog was not eating well and looking blue. st paul veterinary did blood test, x ray, exams and recommended to get spay surgery because they say my luna had minor infection in uterus. total 2700 dollars. i believe my dog had something else or they did a bad surgery and they just wanted to profit. i don’t recommend this place do your pets a favor and go somewhere else. my dog was walking well before surgery, while waiting for the surgery my dog and i walked for half hour, and after the surgery did not walk but a couple feet.
Experiencia fantástica: St. Paul has always been a consistent part of caring for our pet. We recently had to take her in to prepare for her end of life. She had been sick for awhile and there was nothing else we could do but make her comfortable. St. Paul was patient and compassionate with her. We were able to be with her until the end. We are so grateful to St. Paul and the services they provide. Honey was in a safe environment, around those she loved and able to transition peacefully.
Experiencia fantástica: The only place in Milwaukee that will give you services at reasonable prices. The staff, especially Doctor Conlin and Doctor Zack are so experienced and caring. And the ladies behind the counter manage to maintain their humor and also empathy in the face of so many sad pet stories. Hats off to all. And very thankful they were there for my Rocky.
Experiencia negativa: Google says St. Paul Veterinary closes at 6:00pm. Their website says 9:00pm. Yet I call while I’m in the parking lot and tell them my dog needs to be seen right away because he’s not moving. He’s not alert at all and he’s vomiting and just laying in it. They girl that answered the phone told me they can close whenever they want and they won’t be taking my dog. Mind you, it is 5:20. I get wanting go home, but my dogs condition didn’t even matter. They didn’t even care to ask before they sent us on our way. You care about animals you say but you can just send them away not knowing if they have enough time to make it to another vet! MAYBE YOU CHANGE YOUR HOURS!!! I see there has been a lot of bad reviews for the past receptionists. I’m sure they didn’t even ask a the vet to see my dog, they just cared more about themselves.
Experiencia fantástica: I like that you call and wait on your car until they call you. It can be a very long wait at times and that is the only negative. I have been taking my pets here for over 10 years. We have 6 animals that are currently being taken care of here. The price is reasonable and I love the current vets and other staff. They are normally always helpful
Experiencia positiva: LONGGGGG WAIT TIMES but that’s what you get for first come first serve vet. Can’t wait inside so you wait in your car in the marking lot. Waited 4 hours my first visit and 2.5 my second but if you want same day service then that’s what you sign up for. The vets are nice. The counter staff could be friendlier but again, it’s what you sign up for if you need immediate service that isn’t an emergency vet.
Experiencia negativa: This place is useless, never take your pet here. I had to wait 6 hours the first time I came in for him to check on my cat for a spay. I pay for the initial appointment and to have her nails cut, after they tell me that it is more than $350 to operate on her, I make the appointment. They never cut her nails and they tell me that on Friday when she goes to operate they will cut them. They told me that they would call the day before to confirm and give me the instructions. They NEVER called, anyway on Friday I took her in the morning as they had told me initially. Then when I arrive I call and they don't want to answer the phone, I knock on the door and a lady starts yelling through the door that they are not open for me to leave, she never let me speak. I keep calling and he answers telling me to go away. Without her letting me speak at any time, I tried to tell her that I came for a Spay and that they told me that I had to be here at that time. She started insulting me and yelling on the phone without even letting me speak. He never let me talk, nor go in in the cold and with my pet outside. It was horrible, I paid the initial visit for nothing.
Experiencia negativa: I came here to make a review about the service I have received from the receptionist at this clinic. I see there is no shortage of complaints regarding lack of professionalism and attitude. I can hear it’s the same woman every time and I’m sure anyone from the clinic reading this will also know who I am referring to. I recently had an expensive procedure done at their clinic, and was told to come back for a postop check up. When I called, I was shocked and disgusted to learn I needed to wait in the parking lot again to be seen. The first time I waited to be seen it was three hours, but I would hope that when I’ve already paid for a service, there should be some option for appointment. Fine, whatever, this isn’t how their clinic works as I was told by the receptionist who hung up on me. Even before the interaction today, I was put off by the folks working behind the desk. Not only are they unpleasant to interact with, they are also unhelpful and poorly dressed. I feel there should be some standard of dress when you’re the customer facing part of an expensive business / service. Pajamas and novelty t shirts are not professional attire. The vet technicians were all very kind and helpful.
Experiencia negativa: VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! After giving a four star review I called and asked for pricing to get my cats spayed and boy by far they had the highest price in Milwaukee. It looks like someone purchased the clinic and drastically raised their prices. I haven't been there sience I gave my friends dog back he beat cancer and l was so GREATFUL to this clinic but now it looks like they went high end on price. Look everyone needs to make a profit but this went from 200 approximately to 700+
Experiencia negativa: If googled allows for negative stars. This clinic would have it.I have been discriminated on by this facility. Danielle, Bill, Kayla- “are fake names we just give people”. Who in health care lies about there name, but maybe animal care isn’t considered health care. As a veteran and a licensed health care provider this is blatant lies to customers. I came with 1 puppy waiting 5 1/2 hours, after calling was told we were called- we never received a call. Today the doctor told me animals being put out come first- because “it’s more emotional “ no it’s a cash cow putting animals to sleep versus puppy shots. The staff here are very unprofessional and play the health care game to their companies advantage. I paid cash when we came in for our first puppies. When we showed up 2 weeks later for follow up shots and initial shots for a second dog. We arrived in the parking lot at 9:15am, waited until 9:30am called immediately we were told it’s not first come first serve we are appointment only. We debated with the young lady who know we know lies about her name (Kayla) we were told no appointment until Wednesday we were in the parking on a Saturday morning. We purchase the animal on Friday when I got off of work, we showed up to the clinic Saturday morning, the puppy died on Tuesday afternoon. How sad. Today (11/11/22) I spoke with Dr. Buelly today “rather that’s what was spelled out for me” prior a gentleman by the of Bill- hung up on me- I mentioned to all personable I was recording the call. I called back no caller I’d- the same man answered the phone. I asked for a manager. The Dr. That took the phone, confirmed there is no Kayla, no Danielle, no Bill- that’s works there. All I could say is you guys are discriminating and it’s a reason your door are locked at a vet clinic in Milwaukee
Experiencia fantástica: This is a walk in clinic. So, no guarantees as to what time you can see the vet. Euthanasia’s have priority, so wait times will vary. Once you are in there, they take care of your pet. I have been there a few times- met almost all the vets they have there. They love what they do and they take your time with you. My dog is scared of needles and they made sure he never saw that he was being given a shot. It was funny that he didn’t realize after the fact also. Diane was the vet tech who did the shots. My regular vet got unusually busy and this is where I went to get shots updated.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars I would! They are very unprofessional. When I called I talked to someone that seemed nice and she told me they are taking walk ins until 5pm. And to call when I get in the parking lot. I called at 12:38pm got there at 1:12pm, I called and they said they are too busy to take anymore animals. Not sure who I talked to but she wasn’t helpful and she was telling me how busy it was that didn’t have anything to do with me! I work customer service every day so I understand busy and I never turned someone away because it was busy! She raised her voice when I asked her why they didn’t say anything when I called at 12:38pm? I said this is very unprofessional and a big inconvenience. She didn’t have any empathy and she seemed irritated, which doesn’t have anything to do with me. I recommend telling people there are other places that can help and give them their names. I also recommend get another job if this one is too much for you ma’am! It’s a lot of places hiring! I would never ever go back to the junky place a day of my life! Hope you do better St. Paul. I gave you 1 star but it should be negative 5!
Experiencia negativa: I’m very disappointed in the quality of service. My dog had an ear infection and the vet didn’t even clean my dogs ear. Nor administer the first dose. Also trimmed my dogs nail so short he was bleeding all over my car. I had to drive back to have them apply quick stop. A $60 exam fee and the service rendered was pathetic. I really don’t see this clinic as a savings in any way. I would not bring my animal back here.
Experiencia positiva: Poor customer service from staff. Called me to come pick up my dog. I called the curbside number and was put on hold. A representative got back on the phone and I got the chance to say I'm here to pick up my dog. She instantly hang up the phone before I finished my sentence. Finally, got into the place and after making a $400 deposit. The vet didn't want to tell me what was wrong with my dog broken leg. It was not until I said I paid $400 and you can't tell me nothing. Is when the staff pushed me into an exam room and the vet finally told us what is wrong. Going back 9/26 and hoping to have a better experience. Way better service and my baby is healing perfectly. Love the service, but still a little snotty attitude from the front desk.
Experiencia positiva: Okay, seeing that there are over a thousand reviews leads me the conclusion the management of St Paul's probably won't see this, but I'll give it a shot, anyway. So here is the story; this morning I awoke to discover my elderly cat had passed away at some point last night. She was quite old and had rapidly declining in the last couple of days, so it wasn't exactly a shock, but since this cat had been a part of my life for ages, it was still a highly upsetting reality. Once St Paul's opened I called and confirmed that I could bring her remains in. Now here is what turned out to be the first problem; St Paul Veterinary Clinic has by far the heaviest security of any animal clinic I have ever visited. They may be justified in this, I wouldnt know. What I do know is that the receptionist could have informed me of that all paperwork would need to be completed over the phone before entry. I could have done it then and there on that call, but instead what happened was once I screwed up my courage, boxed up my dead cat, and took an Uber to the clinic, I then spent 12 minutes standing in the parking lot, holding a box with my beloved pet's remains, listening to hold music while they dealt with other people. Once I was finally granted entry, the vibe I received from most of the staff was more appropriate to returning a faulty appliance than letting go of the remains of a beloved pet. I understand they deal with death and dying on a daily basis, but some sort of acknowledgement that I am obviously having a very bad day might have been nice. I won't say they were explicitly rude, but a glimmer of empathy might have been nice. I will say one guy who was passing by- I assume a vet tech- offered to set up a room so I could say goodbye. When I entered, he didn't merely put the box containing my cat on the exam table, but laid her out between two towels, so that just her head was showing. It was a touching detail, and I really appreciate he made the effort (why St Paul squeezes through with a three star rating). I do highly, HIGHLY recommend some sort of customer experience/empathy training for the rest of staff, who came off as bored and distracted.
Experiencia fantástica: Was great with my Big Baby Tyson (pit mixed) For an emergency visit. Prices were decent for paying out of pocket. Also gave my dog the proper attention and medication that he need for his Engery. 3 days later and he's feeling way better.. Thanks Much
