Muchos dueños de mascotas applauden a su equipo por ser empáticos y solidarios, especialmente al lidiar con situaciones difíciles como decisiones de final de vida o enfermedades graves. BluePearl Pet Hospital: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: I arrived there at 9:50pm was immediately put into a room and did not hear or see from anyone on the status of the wait or asked any questions until 2am. They would not provide antibiotics for the given illness until proof of bloodwork that was going to cost $800. I left there with a bill for the office visit and no results or answers for my fur baby.. I went the Shivley Animal Clinic the next day and received OUTSTANDING service and treatment for 1/4 of the price blue pearl charges. Do not waste your time and money at Blue Pearl when you are wanting immediate help for your animal
Experiencia fantástica: I couldn’t have asked for a more caring and knowledgeable team to help my dog after complications from another vet practices surgery arose on a Sunday. They are wonderful! 100% would recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Wood was excellent. She was extremely thorough and knowledgeable! She was empathetic and helpful when it came to Lily’s care. I would highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Blue Pearl is filled with kind, compassionate, and skilled experts. They've supported me and my family through the loss of 2 pets over the years. They've worked with us to keep things as affordable as possible, while still providing the highest quality care. My babies were critically ill when I brought them to Blue Pearl, and the staff went above and beyond to comfort us and our little ones. Thank you guys for everything you do.
Experiencia fantástica: Our puppy we had just bought was diagnosed with Parvo and without Blue Pearl and their wonderful care he would not have survived. They kept us informed every step of the way, sent pictures and happily answered my numerous phone calls daily. He spent 10 days in the ICU. Was on oxygen and needed extensive care. The front desk, vet techs and vets went above and beyond to save him while keeping us informed and helping us to make decisions. We can’t thank them enough for all they did for Milo and our entire family.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Turner and her staff was so kind and gentle with my boy. I was feeling all of the things and they were so empathetic and presented me with multiple options and payment tiers.
Experiencia fantástica: I seriously cannot express my gratitude for the BluePearl staff. We brought our cat in because she started having seizures. We unfortunately had to end up laying her to rest today… it was the hardest thing we’ve ever done. But Dr Allison Conner and the front desk staff were absolutely incredible. They were extremely thorough, explained all of our options, and did not make us feel rushed in the slightest. We were put into the comfort room. They gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our girl, and allowed us to press a button when we were ready. Even after she had passed, they allowed us to stay in the room for as long as we wanted to say our final goodbyes. There was a young lady who came in who was so friendly, and so caring. She offered us a clay mold with her paw prints, some ink paw prints, her nose print, and they even gave us some of her fur… I really could not have asked for better care, in one of the most difficult moments of our lives. Thank you so very much for kindness you showed us & our sweet girl. I will not take my animals anywhere else during an emergency after this experience.
Experiencia fantástica: Had dog in for severe allergies face and eye swelling. Was treated quickly and reasonably priced for an emergency after hours visit
Experiencia fantástica: Our pup was seriously ill. The doctors at BluePearl literally saved his life. They explained his illness and the possible outcome all while being compassionate and assuring. They kept me informed of his treatment and progress. And after a couple of days, he was well enough to come home. Is ER care expensive? Yes. But BluePearl isn’t unreasonable in their pricing. And they are completely transparent on what services will cost and let the client decide his they should proceed. My pup is home, eating and back to being himself. I’ll be eternally greatful to his team of doctors who cared for Barkley and restored his health.
Experiencia negativa: I went on a Wednesday night and was put into a exam room but they did not check us in for over an hour, and we sat there for over 4 hours and never seen a doctor. When i got checked in i asked how many were in front of me and i was told 3 patients. I asked again 3 hours later and was told i had 2 patients in front of us. So I left, the whole time there were 3 women that worked there just chatting it up at the front desk the whole time. My dog had a very bad bite wound on his neck that was infected and i understand he wasnt dying but there is no excuse for not seeing him in 4 hours. The girls that did come in office to check me in were rude when it came to dealing with my dog.If you are not a animal lover you probably shouldn't work in the veterinary field. IF I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO RATING I WOULD .... DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SIT IN A ROOM FOR 8 HOURS AND BE OVERCHARGED.
Experiencia fantástica: Very thorough and kind! The staff at Blue Pearl take the time to find the best care plan for your pets. They listen, their knowledgeable and love animals. I can't say enough positive things about them!
Experiencia fantástica: Had an unfortunate situation and had to take our Frenchie to BluePearl at 2:00 in the morning last week. My phone communications and front desk contact was Val(I believe I have this name correct). Absolutely awesome. Great face to the company. She was very understanding and very comforting. Dr. Turner was also fantastic. She met with me and walked me thru everything and sat with me and answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed or like I was an inconvenience. Dr. Turner also showed great empathy and was very comforting. I would strongly recommend BluePearl for overnight care. I can not speak to the daytime staff except that when I went to pick up my dog at 8:00 the next morning the front desk staff did not seem like they even wanted to be there. They did not seem very interested in helping and I had to wait almost 40 minutes to get my dog, and they were not very busy. Pickup was a little frustrating but Dr. Turner and Val, overnight staff, were awesome.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone on both shifts at Blue Pearl was amazing! Our kittens got into Lillie’s early in the morning and we took them to Blue Pearl right away. We kept them there hospitalized for 48 hours and they were super helpful & sweet during the whole process. They even let us come visit them & try to see if we could get them to eat while they were there. We know our kittens got the best care that they could have!
Experiencia fantástica: We've been here twice with 2 different dogs. The service has been nothing but great. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly and that makes a very stressful situation a little less stressful. Both of my dogs have completely recovered under their care. Thank you all so much for your services.
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank BluePearl enough. They were so caring and professional. They made everything so personal and compassionate. Although we lost our loved one they made the process feel a little bit easier. Thank you again for all you did for our sweet Charlie. I know he was in the best hands till the end
Experiencia fantástica: They were very helpful and extremely nice. My cat is doing wonderful thanks to the night crew I couldn't thank you enough
Experiencia negativa: DISGUSTED This was quite possibly one of the worst nights of my life, and the rude, condescending, accusatory “doctor” made it so much more so. I waited in the lobby for more than 2 hours with (what I thought was) my dying dog, and then another 2 waiting for them to ‘assess’ my dog. During this time my dog is visibly ill, and I’m visibly in distress. They added insult to injury, literally, because during this time they accuse me of being a neglectful owner and not “taking care of” my own dog (simply because he was late on ONE vaccine…). They also accused me of causing whatever illness he had. After seeing how they were treating me and my dog, I attempted to leave to go to another facility, but was forced to pay a 200$ fee. I was never told what that fee was even for, by the way, or what they even did to my dog during the “assessment”. By the end of all of this I was in tears, and no one seemed to care. The techs were the only good employees there. Never AGAIN will I be taking my dog here, and I’m telling everyone I know to never take their pets here either. Zero professionalism. Zero empathy. Zero humanity.
Experiencia fantástica: Sunday February 15, I went to Blue Pearl for their end of life services, however as I walk through the door my sweet Beans took his last breath. The staff there were extremely friendly and compassionate. They allowed me to hold my sweet angel for as long as I wanted in privacy. They went a head with the cremation without the charge of end of life service. I truly had the best sweet guy for 11 years.
Experiencia fantástica: They took very good care of our sweet little Frenchie who was hit by a car. They kept us up to date the whole time she was in their care and stayed as positive as possible given the circumstances.
Experiencia fantástica: So thankful for Blue pearl. Dr. Turner was so helpful and so caring. The vet techs were great as well and the front desk assistant. It was a stressful time so I can’t remember their names, but I am grateful for them all.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our dog in on a Saturday night after persistent vomiting all afternoon. We called ahead as instructed on the website and they were very kind and quick on the phone. Everyone from the technician to the veterinarian was extremely kind and loved on our boy from the minute he walked in the door. We did have to wait quite a few hours but what we came in for was urgent and certainly not emergent, so that is exactly what we expected to happen. We will gladly wait for the team to treat more critical patients before us because that’s what we would want too. They continued to apologize for the wait even though it was absolutely appropriate for the acuity of our situation. It was on the pricier side, but labs were ran on site, fluids and meds were given and a quote was shown to us before they started any treatment which was very transparent. We actually ended up paying way less than the original quote because they did not see the need to send meds home with us if we already had zofran at home. Overall I’m extremely pleased with the care that we received and I would recommend them a million times over!
Experiencia fantástica: My sweet baby went from bad to worse in a matter of hours and I am SO thankful we took the extra 10 minutes to drive to an ER further away to go to BluePearl. Everyone was so friendly and compassionate to not only me but also my cat Turkey. I was a wreck almost the whole time we were there but the receptionist, the techs, the AMAZING vet (Dr Ricker) were extremely helpful and empathetic. They took great care of my boy and were extremely transparent about the prices of everything. While it was quite expensive to get him treated (dose of pain meds, blood work, urinalysis, several prescriptions), I obviously understand the reason why. I am just grateful that he is okay, and want to thank the staff for being so supportive and explaining everything so clearly. Hopefully we won’t be having to make another trip anytime soon but if I did I’d be happy to come back to BluePearl!
Experiencia fantástica: We took our cat because she has breathing problems, fluid around her lungs. They took very good care of her and us. They took us in a room to talk everything over, was right there when we had questions and answered them and even gave suggestions. They drained the fluid within a reasonable time and let us sit in a room to wait. They knew it was an emergency and we didn't have to wait to get help. They gave us time to talk to decide what we wanted to do. Everyone there was very nice.
Experiencia fantástica: My sweet girl was having heart and breathing issues. Sadly, she doesn’t have a long time left. But the staff was wonderful. They stabilized her and I was able to bring her home. The doctors were empathetic and thorough.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience from head to tail. Staff is very accommodating and the vet tech was very attentive. The attending vet, Dr. Kristin Quicksall is fantastic, knowledgeable, caring and friendly. This is my second time at Blue Pearl (with a different cat) and the second experience with Dr. Quicksall. I couldn’t recommend this practice more highly. It’s expensive but you pay for the “emergency” over the door and they fixed our little buddy Oliver.
Experiencia negativa: I had a terrible experience. My Yorkie was vomiting, and I waited over five hours before the doctor finally examined her. The doctor told me the wait was over and that her team would assist us shortly. However, an entire hour passed and no one helped us or gave any updates. When I went to the front desk to follow up, there was no one there. At that point, I was that frustrated that I left and will never come back.
Experiencia fantástica: We’ve come here twice now and both times have received exceptional thorough care. I always know my pets are in good hands and the staff cares about the pet owner too. I learned so much from Dr. Gillenwaters (spelling?) that I’m now switching from our regular vet. I appreciate Blue Pearl so much!
Experiencia fantástica: We have had a stress filled week with our elderly dog. Blue Pearl was so reassuring when we brought her in last night. Zero judgement over something that ended up being tiny. Love that we have access to their care! They are AMAZING!!!
Experiencia fantástica: I had to bring my 1 year old Yorkie in earlier this week because she woke up vomiting nonstop in the middle of the night. Dr. Turner was fantastic and so knowledgeable. She even called me directly 2 days later to check on my Evie. Did I have to wait a long time? Yes — because luckily my dog was not in critical condition and didn’t need immediate care. I would rather be there dealing with a G.I. upset than the reasons some other people were there (seizure, end of life, etc.). Was it expensive? Totally. But I would sell a kidney for my dogs and you pay for the convenience of 24 hour care. Was it worth it? Yes. Thank you, Dr. Turner and team!
Experiencia fantástica: We have been to BluePearl 3 times now with our sweet Halo. They take such good care of her and make us all feel better with their care and compassion.
Experiencia fantástica: They were so good with my pup and took great care of me and him. I was a nervous wreck getting there and they assured me immediately he would be fine
Experiencia positiva: Clean facility. People were nice. I understand it is an ER vet location and I was referred by my regular vet but the wait time was very long. I was there around 5 to 5.5 hours. The majority of those hours I was the only human client in the facility. After they took my pet back I was not given any updates until I asked someone up front which was about 3.5 or so hours of waiting with no feedback. To their credit signs were posted about severity of need and estimated wait times and I have no way of knowing what was happening behind the door where the pets are taken but there were numerous times through my visit where there were no cars, no people only me and silence with no updates. My pet finally received an exam after 4.5 hours of waiting and a few times of me asking. If there were many people coming and going the wait would make more sense however my pet merely used about 30 mins of their time for her needs. I was treated kindly but it was an extremely long and quiet wait. Cost was high but I don’t know how it compares to other ER facilities. Overall it was not the best experience yet people were kind.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff were super friendly and understanding of our financial options coming in! Dr. Turner saved my boyfriends dogs life and helped us keep her stable until we could get her to somewhere we could afford. It is obvious they care about their patients and we are so grateful for them! They let me call them and ask so many questions during the scariest night and they are the sole reason she is still alive today.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you VERY much to Doctor Madison Turner. She worked with us when we couldn’t afford the treatment. I appreciate that compassion and sympathy she shared with us in the consultation room. Her treatment let Peaches survive the night. She’s currently recovering nicely thanks to Dr. Turner.
Experiencia fantástica: They all were excellent and caring for my poor cat and very kind and understanding to me. They were very attentive and focused on diagnosing the problem and making Cornelius well. I could tell that they cared and her life and wellbeing mattered. Unfortunately that was not going to be possible. I took Cornelius home with the hopes that rest and pain meds would help but ultimately she needed to be put to sleep the next day. I highly recommend Blue Pearl for your veterinary needs.
Experiencia positiva: Very happy with caregivers. They were great. I did feel like we got left in a room for quite a while after we had been seen.
Experiencia fantástica: I just want to shout out to All the staff and doctors for taking care of Max they made the whole process so comfy and a special shout out to Paige she was great from the beginning!!!!
Experiencia negativa: Staff was nice, but they basically did the minimum amount of anything gave my dog an herbal supplement and charged me $2k. Honestly, a waste of time and money.
Experiencia negativa: I’ve felt cleaner leaving a strip club. Waited four hours in a small room to never be seen. Floor was so dirty. The please clean up after your pet garbage bag was overflowing with dog feces bags. I expected longer wait time use to holiday. I didn’t expect the place to be dirtier than a Walmart after Black Friday. Both my dog and I got a bath and shower as soon as we got home.
Experiencia fantástica: Each person attending to us was so kind, compassionate, and understanding. I appreciate that the doctor provided “optional Care plans” to help with my budget and explained the pros and cons of each.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent staff, respectful. They even as to go as far as to helping owners. My phone was going dead and they offered a charger for me to use while I was waiting.
Experiencia fantástica: I just wanted to let everyone there know that they are appreciated, especially working on Christmas..whole staff was tremendous...they gave my new puppy ( Indy) a checkup...recently picked up my Shih Tzu at PuppyGram and wanted to make sure he was healthy..
Experiencia negativa: When your regular vet isn't available you seek out an Emergency vet Hospital. We have used Blue Pearl on three different occasions. They saved our pets lives on two of those occasions. Last night was different. Our Senior male cat Willie had cystitis, which is like a kidney stone. It blocks the release of urine and causes the organ functions to shut down. I have owned many cats and when they have situations like this it happens extremely fast. The Dr. came out to see us after examining him and said he had a blockage and it was the worst she had ever seen. They sedated Willie and tried to insert a catheter in his urethra, and she couldn't get it to go. She came back to the waiting room and said she couldn't get it in and we ought to consider euthanasia. I asked her being this was life or death situation if she would use a syringe with saline and force it in to expand his urethra so the blockage would come out. I know this because I have assisted my local vet with this procedure more then once and had my boys to live out normal lives. She said well another Dr. will be in in abut 20 minutes maybe she could try to get the cath in his penis into his bladder. And she brought up euthanasia again. Then she said she could try to insert a needle into his bladder to relieve the pressure but his bladder might burst when inserting the needle. I pleaded with her to at least try. She left and came back and said she was able to get some fluid out but still could get the cath in to flush his bladder and the blood work showed his red blood count was very low, she said he might have an infection or something else going on and he needed a blood transfusion but they didn't have any blood on hand. So it was automatically back to put him down. We were there for two hours and they said well he needs to go to the other Emergency Hospital but probably wouldn't make it if he was transported. I said well, We will just take him home to be with us when he passes then she said no that would be cruel he could suffer for a couple of days and be in extreme pain, and a minute ago said he wouldn't make it across town. We hesitantly opted to put him down as they were offering no options. I felt like she wasn't the most experienced Dr. that was present on this occasion. While we were waiting a girl came in and said while we wait for them to euthanize our boy, would you like to take care of your bill, she had the credit card reader in her hand and said that will be $1965.97. of which $416 was blood work and $313 for a cath to try to unblock the blockage. I know they have to make money but that seems to be their main concern $178 to put an IV in his leg then $168 to put the Propofol in the IV to euthanize him. Charges seemed a bit redundant. Bottom line is I felt they didn't do enough to try to save our boy :(
Experiencia fantástica: We are so thankful to all of the staff at Blue Pearl for saving our 7 month old puppy. Everyone was incredibly kind and compassionate and they took such amazing care of our puppy. We are so grateful for them.
Experiencia fantástica: They squeezed my ferret in when he was in terrible pain. Can’t say enough nice things about this vet. They truly care! They even sent me a “rainbow bridge” card through the mail. Thank you Guys!
Experiencia fantástica: Our sweet angel baby of a puppy got into something he shouldn’t have at the dog park, and thankfully BluePearl was nearby. I was incredibly worried, but what happened turned out to be the best worst-case scenario. He was treated quickly, all fixed up in no time, and able to come home the very same night. The vet and tech were so kind and took the time to explain everything in detail, which made a stressful situation much easier. They even offer payment plans if you can’t afford the visit outright—and luckily, our visit wasn’t nearly as expensive as we had expected. If you ever need an emergency vet (which I truly hope you never do), I highly recommend BluePearl and their amazing staff!
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! If I could a negative star I would give -100. I brought my boxer in after she had a major seizure, we were the only patients in the facility. No one else was there, the place was empty. We waited about 10 minutes after filling out the form and being put into a room before a tech came in to see us. She took vitals and said can I take inthe back real quick to get a weight, I didn't really want to let my girl out if my sight because she just had a major seizure but O agreed and she took my boxer in the back 'just to get her weight' and after 10 minutes I asked where my dog was. The stone face receptionist said she is in the back. I could see on the cameras that there were ppl back there but couldnt see my dog. It doesn't take now 15 minutes to take a weight on a scale. I asked again where is my dog. The 2nd receptionist said, we went back to talk to them. I am now losing my patience, I have never been here before, have no idea what is going on and where my dog was. I demanded my dog be brought out and back into the exam room. The 2nd receptionist gave attitude and went into the back. Then a woman comes out with my dog, who is unstable because she is in a postical phase after her seizure, and starts walking her down the hall and it glaring at me not paying attention to my dog and my dog walks into the corner of the vending machine. I am at my wits end at this point. Time is of the essence when a dog experiences a seizure and its now 20 minutes later and nothing is happening. This woman never introduces herself I do not know if she is a tech, a vet or receptionist. I told her I was upset because I was told my dog was just going in the back for a weight check and would be brought back. She said well I was going to exam her and I said who are you? Again no name just I'm the doctor. I am very uncomfortable at this point, and asked for another doctor but she was the only doctor there. She begins to berate me because I am trying to explain that I want to now who is treating my dog and know what is going on. She just continues and calls in a receptionist because she said I was yelling. Well I was not I was speaking firmly because I brought my dog in to be seen after having a seizure, she was brought in the back for over 15 minutes, clearly hadn't been examed as this doctor said she was going to start to exam her but I demanded she be brought back out and you let her walk into a wall and said well she just walked into a wall she needs to be exam. Yes 'you' just let her walk into a wall! I was frustrated at this point and she says maybe we just aren't the facility for you. That's all I needed to hear, it's clear they are not in the business of treating animals properly, she didn't care about my dog, or my concern that you took in the back for a weight check and didn't return and no one told me anything that was going on. I told them I was leaving, she still never introduced herself and I said I am going to leave a review and report this facility to the board and she said to the receptionist get her my card so she spells my name right. Her name is Lindsay Seilheimer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I took my dog to VETERINARY SPECIALIST PARTNERS 11600 MAIN ST. LOUISVILLE, they are professional, kind and helped us. Kristen Black the tech and Dr. Zelli were literally live savers. People should not be treated this way, you go in an animal hospital for help, not to be berated, treated like you are doing something wrong, Lindsay clearly just wanted to make her point, didn't care about my concerns. She should not be practicing, she is extremely unprofessional, unapologetic and self righteous. This facility should be ashamed. The receptionists also needed training, they are stone faced, unpleasant and cold. Another emergency hospital option is METROPOLITAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL 11800 CAPITAL WAY LOUISVILLE, they are also amazing for critical emergencies and are open 24 hrs a day.
Experiencia fantástica: Very attentive and listened to my concerns and very gentle with my girl. They didn't try to upsell me on services and were super friendly and very personable. They took great care of my girl and recommend them for services.
Experiencia fantástica: Arrived with pet in breathing crisis due to pre -cardiac issues. We were met in emergency area by tech immediately upon arrival at approximately 7:30PM. Pet seen and examined with preliminary diagnosis and treatment plan by staff Vet within 30 -40 minutes of arrival. Pet stabilized and spent approx 20 hours under great loving care and treatments at facility. Highly recommend for attentiveness, professionalism, and excellent care of pet. Pet is home now on meds, but stable and doing well.
Experiencia fantástica: Our experience with Blue Pearl was truly great. They took exceptional care of our precious fur baby. Staff was incredibly friendly .
Experiencia fantástica: The staff took care of our dog and did everything they could for him. They were all compassionate and kind, and were always willing to answer our questions or try new treatment options. I hope we never have to bring any of our other pets to the ER again, but if you do I highly recommend going to BluePearl. I cannot express my thankfulness enough. I’m sure our Ranger boy felt special there, because they truly did love him the few days he was with them.
Experiencia fantástica: Our outside cat "Sunday" aka "Little Guy" had a large abscess where his tail and back meet. We had to use the emergency service. Dr. Turner and the staff were professional and caring. He was nearly immediately back to himself after his visit. He is doing great. We highly recommend BluePearl! Thank you! Joe K
Experiencia negativa: IF YOU CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR PET, DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO BLUE PEARL. THEY ARE THE MOST IRRESPONSIBLE VETERINARY HOSPITAL IN LOUISVILLE. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO INTERPRET REPORTS. THEN TOOK THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS OF OUR MONEY FOR A ONE HOUR PET VISIT. THEY MUST HATE ANIMALS AND HUMANS BC THEY DIDN'T HELP OUR PET OR US. THEY ARE ONLY THERE TO CHEAT PEOPLE, NOT CARE FOR PETS. Sent home with no answers for my dog's temp or other symptoms even though his WBC was high. Not even an antibiotic or other med for fever. USELESS! Told us to see another vet after the weekend. SUCH A HATEFUL PLACE TAKING FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WORRIED ABOUT THEIR PET, THEN NOT HELPING THE PET AT ALL. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THEIR RESPONSES TO ONE STAR REVIEWS LACK ANY KIND OF REMORSE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. WE WILL SEE THEM IN COURT.
Experiencia negativa: We came to bluepearl with our 3 month old kitten concerned of an upper respiratory infection. They were very kind upon arrival, and everyone we interacted with was kind. Only issue was I felt very unheard. I said I felt like kitty had fluid build up and they said he didn’t. They said his gums were fine and that his pigmentation was different than other kittens, when in fact it was extremely pale. I am giving two stars because they did in fact offer blood work and chest X-rays, but only among 10 other things that I didn’t understand and were very expensive. The vet said she recommends starting antibiotics for a potential reoccurring URI. I didn’t think that made sense as he was on antibiotics before that didn’t help. We just finished the antibiotics they gave us and he’s worse. We took him to a different emergency vet, and he did in fact have a bunch of fluid in his lungs. His gums were in fact very pale as we told the bluepearl vet, and they didn’t listen. They also said his breathing was fine, after I had observed that his beats per minute were very high. Which is now confirmed that his breathing is very abnormal. Metropolitan animal hospital quickly and easily diagnosed him with FIP, and now just hoping he lives. Upset bluepearl didn’t catch the fact that his gums were pale and he sounded wet when he was breathing. We left with a 500 dollar bill for antibiotics. again giving two stars because they were kind, but think they were too busy to really listen to my concerns and rather they put a 3000 bill in front of us, and I had to decline a bunch of those options. End of the day, go to metropolitan. They care and listen.
Experiencia fantástica: We came here on the morning of November 28th. Our cat Oliver was breathing heavily and he was examined. We were told he had fluid build up between his chest and his lungs and even with treatment it was terminal. We decided euthanasia would be the humane option. Throughout the whole process, our veterinarian and the staff were so kind, supportive, and empathetic. They made everything a bit lighter throughout the process. Everyone did amazing especially our vet :) Thank you so much for having us and Oliver.
Experiencia negativa: I agree our pets are our children, but you would think you were in a people hospital here. You have a "tech" come in to take vitals, then a dr. comes in, then they take your "child/pet" back for "tests" and you're not allowed to go back. Really? Then a "discharge nurse" brings you your "discharge papers." Dumbest BS I've ever seen.
Experiencia fantástica: Always very professional, friendly, and caring. The best 24/7 emergency vet. Nice to know that there is a vet within 20 minutes of home.
Experiencia fantástica: I called in about my dog consuming medication. The tech was prompt, professional and very helpful. I appreciate the helpful information. Would recommend to anyone.
Experiencia fantástica: Our pup was attacked by another dog. They were so caring and took such good care of him, while also not sugar coating his condition. The surgery went well though, and he’s at home recovering. All great people and we had an outstanding experience, especially given the circumstances.
Experiencia negativa: Absolutely worst vet experience I’ve ever had!!! Called them about my dog after he broke his tooth, they said they could get him started on antibiotics until we could get him to his regular vet to possibly remove the tooth. We went in, filled the paperwork and waited for THREE HOURS AND NO ONE EVER CAME IN TO LOOK AT HIM!!! We left with no antibiotics, no one even laid eyes on my dog after they told us they could take care of him! Save your time and sanity, take your pets to a local trusted vet, not this franchised, overpriced nightmare.
Experiencia positiva: Its nice they are open 24/7 but their prices are kinda high. I honestly dont know the prices of most animal hospitals so I'm only basing this off of this one visit but making people choose from attempting to revive your pet and like $1500 seems crule. Do you love your pet a potential $1500 worth on top of the about $300 to be seen plus drugs and whatever else is needed. I hope you have pet insurance and the pet insurance is covered and doesn't give you the run around on a discount. I guess thats why this is an emergency visit. If you can take your pet to a normal vet its probably way cheaper.
Experiencia fantástica: I can't explain through a review. How grateful I am for Blue Pearl pet hospital. When I had to put my dog down last week they were so compassionate and making it affordable and the level of care. My dog and my family received was out of this world. The veterinarian even sent a card after the fact that included a very sweet message and an imprint of my dogs, nose and paw print.
Experiencia fantástica: BluePearl pet hospital was a million times better than Jefferson animal hospital and Metropolitan. Prices are high but all animal hospitals are. Jefferson kept me there for four hours. They were not busy. Someone from the BluePearl team came to talk to me within minutes of me checking in and staff was very nice. Sadly, I lost my cat. I was treated so well that it was worth going farther from home. They are my new emergency vet hospital.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been here before they take great care of you. White times are very reasonable. Would not hesitate to recommend you to go.
Experiencia negativa: For emergency visit for a pet they have you over a barrel when it comes to charges. $175.00 just for a office visit is easy over priced. $339 for a splint for a broken leg is definitely over priced. Just because they are on the east side of Louisville they jack their prices because that's where all the rich people live. Not everyone lives there. In an emergency situation low income families get the shaft on the cost of not get help for their pet. When I went in I told them the leg was broken. After waiting in a room for an hour they finally came to get my dog to check her out. Hour later the vet tech comes in telling me what they need to do. I'm thinking great my dog is going to be cared for. A hour later the vet comes in to tell me the same thing the vet tech told me a hour before. Two hours later in leaving with a bill over a thousand dollars. With only a splint on the dogs leg and medicine to give her. Telling me to follow up with my vet. Their vet told me the bones would need to have a pin put in them. My vet said they can't pin a small bone like that. My vets advice was to lace the splint on for six weeks to see if it will heal on its own. Vet at blue pearl said it couldn't heal on its own. Not to confident in the vet at blue pearl. At first I was going to give 2 stars but after writing this they don't deserve the one star. If at all possible go someplace else.
Experiencia fantástica: They were able to get a diagnosis for our elderly cat who started breathing heavily. We were given helpful information and were helped to worked through the best treatment options given her diagnosis, age and progression of health issue. With all this laid out for us we were able to process and have peace of mind in the decisions that were made. Though the prognosis was not good, we were able to bring our sweet girl home to give her as much love as we can and make her as comfortable as possible during the time she has left. Without their prompt care I’m not sure we would have been given that precious gift.
Experiencia negativa: If I had taken the advice of the vet who saw my dog, he would not be alive today. Thank God I sought a second opinion because they misdiagnosed my dog and wanted to charge 8000+ to board my pet over the two days to wait for another vet to concur. I found another emergency vet who did surgery that night, was able to release him back to me the next morning and only charged my 1/4 the cost of this place. My dog revovered in no time 100! Blue Pearl charged me 900 just to be seen! In my experience, there are much better and affordable emergency centers in Louisville who don't try to guilt you to make you think you're a bad owner because you can't afford to mortgage your house for their facility. Definitely not worth it.
Experiencia positiva: Took great care of our puppy after she got bit by a much bigger dog. ER was fantastic and vet did a great job assessing and repairing bite. They were so busy , as a human health care professional I understood some of the issues
Experiencia fantástica: They saved my Birdies life. Birdie had gotten into a medication called Proin, and had ate a toxic amount of this. Her blood pressure was over 300. They immediately got her triaged, started Iv fluids, sedation, called poison control, and got her stabilized. They saved her life quite literally, all while also working two traumas that came in right after. I thought it was fairly priced, given she was in ICU and continuously monitored. As an old trauma ICU nurse, I was so impressed by their triage and fast, seamless, critical care. Thank you so much. I am forever grateful and will no longer go anywhere else for my emergency care. Picture of Birdie two days after almost dying.
Experiencia fantástica: My 3 month old kitten got hold of a morphine tablet. First visit to this place at 8pm. Immediately ,Staff was on point with giving her their full attention. Dr.explained to me what was required to give her Best treatment for this type of situation. My kitten stayed all night.I called a couple of times to get updated. Staff was efficient and friendly. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my soul kitty in for respiratory distress. The previous vet I had taken him to recommended cardiac testing to make sure there was no fluid build up, ans referred me to BluePearl. We arrived and were taken straight back. I had already had his records sent over so BluePearl had them. Dr Quicksall and her team were so compassionate and checked in with me several times while they had my big guy in the back. Dr Quicksall said everything sounded okay, and we could do the cardiac testing if I wanted but she didnt hear enough to really warrant it right now, and I really appreciated that she didnt just have the test done just because. She spoke to me clearly and made sure I understood and she really listened to me when I brought up things I had forgotten to mention earlier. We were sent home with some steroids and a plan for next steps depending on how my kitty responds. I'm so thankful for this team's care at a really scary part of our lives
Experiencia negativa: We drove 2.5 hours, just to not get seen for the first hour at this place. Then, we had to stay for an additional 3 hours to have bloodwork done. They took our cat to the back, even though there was a table in the room, so we had no idea what was going on. After an almost 5 hour visit and $1700.00, we were told to make sure we contacted our local vet because we were not leaving our cat there by our choice. They didnt seem to care about the animals. The vet told us our cat would make it at least until we could get him in our vet the next morning. We get 15 minutes from our house, that 2.5 hour journey, and he dies in the car. I dont think this place actually helped him. It was late at night and our vet was not available, so we went here out of desperation. Our vet has completed bloodwork for our pets and it never took hours.
Experiencia positiva: I believe my cat received good care at Blue Pearl but I could not afford to have all of the services they suggested in their treatment plan.
Experiencia positiva: First, I want to say that I am very thankful that Blue Pearl exists and was able to provide services for our fur child in her time of need when her normal vet was closed. The Vet on duty was very professional and expressed empathy for our situation. I do not want the rest of this review to diminish her kindness or our gratitude for Blue Pearl even being an option. On Sept 24, 2025, after a yr of watching her health slowly leave our 15 yo hound, Daisy's health began deteriorate quickly and on Saturday the 27th it was obvious that she was in immense pain and there would be no rebound, forcing us to make the decision to end her pain and give her peace. We would have preferred that the familiar face of her normal vet perform the procedure, but ultimately, we decided that we could not watch her suffer further and sought assistance at Blue Pearl because her normal vet had recommended them in advance if we had an emergency. On arrival, we were quickly guided to a room that was obviously designed for these types of things and after quite a while a vet tech came in and advised us that he had to take her to put in an IV port. Having had to make this decision 5 other times in the past and never had had to have that done, we found it odd. Soon after he left a staff member came in to ask if we wanted cremation and what type of box etc. We asked for a minute, and she left. After quite a while, long enough that our baby should have been brought back already, she came back in and we advised her of our decision and she requested payment for the services, which we did, although again felt odd because our vets in the past had given an option but never demanded either way. Within a minute or 2 of her taking payment and leaving us our Daisy was brought back in – I am positive they delayed bringing her back until after payment was made. While this MIGHT be a good business decision, it is a very uncaring and heartless way to do business. It was only a few minutes after she was brought back that the vet came in, discussed the procedure and then gave us some private time with Daisy. Daisy passed peacefully and again we were so thankful for her being out of pain, even if our hearts were broken. We were given a chance to finish saying goodbye and as asked, advised them when we were ready, being told that a tech would come back with a gurney to get her. What actually happened was the tech came back and picked her up like a rag doll with her legs hanging down, struggling somewhat to get ahold of her and then walked off with her. Not the last respectful image either of us envisioned or wanted to see. We were not given any information as to when her remains would be available but assumed that because they took both our phone numbers we would be notified soon. Our past experiences indicated that it would likely be 7-10 days so didn’t expect anything until at least then. That time came and went with no notification. We gave more time till finally today we called to inquire and were advised that they had been ready for 2 weeks and we could pick them up anytime. To sum up my review, Blue Pearl is a necessary business, and while thankful they were an option, the manner is which they do business and the amount of thought that they give to the families that are left to seek them in these times of need is lacking. It seems they have put a great deal of thought into the production of a show (the dedicated comfy euthanasia room, multitude of cremation and memorial choices, even the IV port with a long tube so the meds could be administered at a distance) but the finer details that consider emotional state of the ones that are faced with this are treated as after thoughts, if they were thought of at all. Now I will post this and then leave to get my baby’s remains so that our family can finally start to feel some closure and heal the wound that has been opened since that day and suggest that if you are faced with this decision and are able to, do so with your normal vet unless your baby is an as much pain as ours was
Experiencia fantástica: We had to bring our tiny kitten in one morning, and ended up having to put him to sleep. It was a terrible day, but the care and support we received by everyone we encountered helped immensely. And to receive a sympathy card about our little kitty Paul in the mail about a week later was an incredibly kind gesture. It was personalized from the vet herself (Dr. Jackie Post, who was absolutely fantastic in every way a vet could be). I hope we never have to go to an emergency vet again, but if we should have to, I know where to go.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff was friendly and helpful, vet who ended up running blood tests and presenting diagnoses was extremely nice, helpful, and understanding. Brought our cat in for medical concerns. They just started a new program where people with Banfield pet insurance get 1 free emergency visit per year (to last visited date) (consultation only, which waves ~$216), but if any tests need to be run like blood, that's not included. Would definitely recommend for a pet crisis! Its not cheap but thats probably how it is everywhere for emergency care.
Experiencia fantástica: I had to take in my cat for an emergency. The pricing for the surgery here was too expensive for me to manage and I was about to make a hard choice. Dr. Turner went above and beyond calling other doctors for me and found one that was willing to do the surgery for much, much cheaper. Without her willingness to help me find another solution, I'd have lost my cat. They took great care of him during his stay. I'd definitely recommend them.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible I brought my cat in he hasn’t been eating , peeing or drinking water they took him in and fixed the problem temporarily cost around 1000$ was told if the problems come back within 24 hours I could bring him back at little cost it’s only been 12 hours and nothing improved I called they said it would be about 300$ just to basically see him again when they literally fixed nothing
Experiencia fantástica: The best place to send your pet. You can tell that they all really care about the animals in their care and their overall well-being. I took my dog here late at night for parvo and they were so kind and reassuring. And they did so well with her, she’s better now, actually playing and eating and drinking water, the medicines are working and she’s slowly getting to be herself again. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who asked, genuinely the kindest people I’ve ever interacted with at a vet.
Experiencia fantástica: While pet sitting for a friend, their kitten became critically ill-every single person from the time I arrived, was so caring and kind and made me feel like truly cared about the welfare of this darling kitten. This was my first experience with any type of emergency vet care and while I pray I won’t need it again, if I do- it will absolutely return to Blue Pearl
Experiencia negativa: I took my dog in after what presented as a possible seizure. After x-rays and bloodwork, they said it looked like he had bronchitis and possible vasal vagal syncope (faiting) as a result of possible lack of oxygen. Prior to that day, he had not exhibited any pulmonary symptoms (coughing, wheezing, etc.) just a lack of appetite. We were sent home with a $1700 bill and advised a boiled chicken diet, but no treatment other than a shot of zofran. Two days later, he still was not eating and was showing signs of labored breathing. We were able to squeeze in with our regular vet (Animal Medical Center of Middletown - I highly recommend!). They wanted to re-x-ray to confirm if the lungs looked the same, better or worse, and also test his pancreas levels, which BPPH did not do. The x-rays showed his lungs looked slightly better but still showed signs of bronchitis. They prescribed steroids, anti-biotics, an appetite stimulant, and another anti-nausea shot. Another $550. Our actual experience at BPPH was great. They got us in immediately, the nurses and vet were wonderful to work with. Dr. Quicksall took time to go over the scans with me and every piece of bloodwork. But I'm left frustrated that they did not prescribe anything to treat the bronchitis and we then lost two whole days of treatment, and created additional stress on both my dog and myself. I only write this review to let others know that they may need to really advocate for their pets at this hospital to make sure they are getting the treatment they need.
Experiencia fantástica: So grateful that when my husband accidentally administered too much medication to our dog and we called the hospital they told us it wasn’t a concern. I was “chatting” via a link on my vets website to try to determine if we had to go to the hospital and I was directed to a page to pay $100 to get a response.
Experiencia fantástica: brought my pomeranian here on sunday because she woke up in major distress, in pain so bad that she bit me when i tried to pick her up and comfort her (she’s never bit anybody before). BluePearl immediately took her back & started an exam on her and found out she was suffering from a herniated disc in her lower back-began an iv, gave a bag of fluids and pain meds to make her comfortable. fast forward to 4 days later-my girl is doing SO much better & it’s all thanks to the friendly staff here. back story-this was my first time at BluePearl, i originally took her to Shivley hospital due to it being closer to home & was turned away and told “since your not a patient of ours, we will only do a quick assessment to see if she’s dying or not & you’ll have to follow up with your dr tomorrow”. i was so upset and infuriated, desperately trying to find someone to see my baby, i found blue pearl on google & made a 40 min drive to get there as soon as they confirmed they would see her-but it was 100% worth it!!needless to say we now have our forever vet! thanks blue pearl!!!
Experiencia fantástica: I was seen immediately, no long wait. As far as emergency fees go for pet care theirs was very doable. The people were lovely. They had complimentary snacks, coffee, wifi and phone chargers. This vet is obviously very well prepared for people expecting to spend long hours waiting for their fury friends to be treated.
Experiencia fantástica: I am super grateful for the team that was there when my baby needed urgent care in the middle of the morning! Thoroughly impressed with the service and the rates for emergency vet care. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable of lower cost vet care options in the area. Thank you!! Thank you!!
Experiencia fantástica: The vets and staff were kind, professional, and thoughtful in their approach to treating my dog. After several days in hospital and post treatments, he is almost back to 100%. I fully believe he wouldn’t have made it had he not received emergency services. While I hope to not have to use their services in the future, I will definitely keep them in mind should another pet emergency occur.
Experiencia fantástica: I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations and comfort you all provide. There were snacks, drinks and small things that just made a huge difference. The staff was so nice and made you feel welcome. Thank you for taking care of my Bella
Experiencia fantástica: Had to bring my baby MoMo in for a bad UTI at 2am in the morning. They were great and super reasonable. She is now all better thanks to the great staff!
Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff was friendly, and the doctor took the time to explain the entire procedure to me and answer all my questions. The clinic was clean and orderly, and overall, it was a great experience. I felt like my pup was in good hands from the second, we walked in the door. Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Putting my sweet Sally down was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but the staff at BluePearl made the process as smooth and comfortable as possible. Everybody here, especially Dr. Spillman, was so compassionate and I could tell my baby was in good hands during her final hours. I'm very grateful we chose this hospital during this difficult time.
Experiencia fantástica: We love Blue Pearl. Each staff member is kind, compassionate as well as knowledgeable in their craft. We trust Blue Pearl wholeheartedly.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful lady surgeon took care of Duke. In and out quickly with needle biopsy of mass! The staff were kind and professional and the rooms are very clean!
Experiencia fantástica: My senior cat was in the final stages of cancer and we could tell it was time for her suffering to end. It was the middle of the night. I called BluePearl and they were very sympathetic and able to see her immediately. Unfortunately my baby passed right as we arrived there, as I was filling out the paperwork. The staff were very caring and considerate during this hard time. I have no hesitation recommending others to use their services.
Experiencia fantástica: I would recommend BluePearl to anyone that has been dealing with issues about their pets my experience with Dr.Turner and Dr. Cummings has been absolutely amazing treatment I was to the point that my Nash wasn't going to get well and have no quality of life. I sure was wrong he is 100 % better and one HAPPY DOG WILL BE CELEBRATING HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY 1 YEARS OLD AND LIVING BEST LIFE! THANK YOU BLUEPEARL AND THERE AMAZING DOCTORS AND STAFF
Experiencia fantástica: Nobody likes to have to go to the vet because of an emergency but I had to for this visit. I thought my dog had broke or dislocated her front leg because she would scream when touched her and she was limping. I feared all the things had happened to her. She's a chiweenie so iykyk. We went here because it's where our vets voicemail told us to go. I couldn't have been more satisfied with our care. They were really apologetic for taking so long but they had a lot of traumas and emergencies come through. The check in was really fast. They were sweet, kind, and understanding of my fears. They just loved on her like she was the only animal they had to see that night. She usually doesn't like to go with people if she doesn't have to but she loved on them like they were best friends. If you have an emergency I suggest going to see them.
Experiencia positiva: I have mixed feelings about this experience. My advice would be: whatever you think it might cost, double it (at least) and however long you think it will take, double it (at least). The facility, care team and doctor were top notch. However, the overall experience was less than stellar. Granted, my dog was not a life or death emergency, but this is how it played out: my young female GSD was limping quite badly after an injury she sustained earlier in the week; she seemed to be getting better but by Saturday morning it was clear that the wound was becoming infected or worse; and of course it was a holiday weekend - so I didn’t want to wait until Tuesday to start getting antibiotics in her. I called Blue Pearl and let them know I would be bringing her in. According to whomever I spoke with, it was not busy. I got there at 10 AM on the dot. There was one other car in the parking lot (maybe 2). I was encouraged that we were brought to a room immediately. We waited a bit and a nurse came in to take some details. We then waited about an hour when she came back and did the history and vitals. At that point she said the doc should be in soon; this was around noon. By 12:45 I went out to the front desk to inquire how long it may be. I was told that the AM doc had been a bit overwhelmed and the afternoon doc was in at 1 so it wouldn’t be much longer. During this entire time the office was very quiet and did not seem to be busy in the least. It was 3 PM before we saw a doc and had a discussion about what the plan was…it was then another 30 minutes before they came to take my dog back. Super long story short - I did not take my dog home until after 7:30 PM! And this is of course after I paid $2,000 for her care. The prices are quite high - one prescription had a price of $50 - I have gotten that same prescription from my regular vet for less than half that. The highest priced item on the invoice was the splint my dog needed - this was $475!!! For a plastic splint!!! Fortunately, I have pet insurance so the $ aren’t my biggest concern…but if I didn’t have insurance this could be a serious burden. Especially when they want me to bring her back tomorrow for a bandage change which will at the very least be $115 - if they need to sedate her it will likely double! With insurance that doesn’t bother me as much as the possibility of having to wait for another 5 hours just to see the doctor!!! I absolutely do not want to go back there wondering if I will be spending my entire day (literally) sitting in a not so comfortable chair in a quiet facility wondering if they forgot we were even there! While the staff is very nice, I feel that they are trained to tell you it will just be a little bit…regardless of the reality. Again, I recognize that emergency medicine has numerous variables that can impact wait times - but this was beyond ridiculous, regardless of the severity of my dog’s issues. I will say that the doctor acknowledged and apologized for our wait, which was appreciated as he was the only one who even acknowledged that it was excessive. Unfortunately, it really doesn’t do anything to make me feel like I would want to go there again.
Experiencia fantástica: Blue Pearl is an amazing place to seek urgent and emergency medical care for your pets. As a long time pet owner, I’ve unfortunately seen my fair share of vet ERs and while I’m always grateful for the care these professionals give my pets, I’m immensely impressed with the service BluePearl provides. From the first call I made to them at 5am after my youngest dog had her first seizure to follow up they provided for paperwork for insurance after her hospitalization, there’s just something above and beyond about every person I spoke with and encountered. My pets and I are very fortunate to live within driving distance of this hospital, its care and staff.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff at Blue Pearl are amazing! My poor boy had to have surgery and the staff were so kind and helpful. They took great care of my boy.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff here were kinder and more helpful than anywhere I have gone. I spoke to them over the phone and they helped me decide to bring my dog in. They treated him so well and made sure to keep us informed about his issues and the cost throughout our visit. When he still wasn't better this morning, they helped talk me through more possible issues and ensured me that I could bring him back anytime. I took him to his regular vet, and he seems to be on the mend. I recommend bluepearl to anyone with fur babies. They were extremely attentive to my dog and to us.
Experiencia fantástica: We took my 8 month old Yorkie there. They ran test and x-rays. We were there for 5 hours. The staff were very nice and helpful. It is a great place to take your pet for an emergency.
