Experiencia fantástica: This was the best animal hospital for my fur baby Chance. I had to unexpectedly euthanize him this past Tuesday and they were very kind. I always appreciated Dr. Klein and how she would talk about Chance. The last doctor I had for him (elsewhere) always had the most classist conversations how much care I could afford. I appreciated how I never felt 'less than' as a dog parent because I couldn't afford certain treatments. They understand that people are just doing the best they can, and if we could do more $$ we would do more for our fur babies. I really wish I would've had him here for the entirety of his life, but at least he got the best care in his final years at North Elm.

Angel Coates is our primary vet. She's smart, compassionate, and deeply experienced – an outstanding doctor. The entire team is great and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality veterinary care.

I went last week and was very early and they took Shey right in. I thought I would have to wait but I didn’t. I recommend their clinic to anyone. And their location is so easy to get to off 840.

It's close to my home and so far my baby is getting good care so I will continue to take her there. But if the front attitude doesn't change I might find a new hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my first experience at North Elm AH yesterday. From the front desk who did our intake to the technician team that brought us back, everything was immaculate. I was thoroughly impressed by the level of communication among the staff, using walkie talkies to coordinate. Everyone went above and beyond to make myself and my dog as comfortable as possible. We even received an impromptu visit from the clinics office manager who made an extra effort to come say hello and love on my dog. We saw Doctor Reyes for our exam and she was top notch. Extremely professional while at the same time very relatable, sharing experiences that echo experiences I myself have had with my dogs. I hope the entire team at North Elm goes home every night knowing that they are doing good work and should be very proud of themselves.

The staff have always been polite and kind. We have also seen Dr. Reyes a few times and will have her as our backup vet.

I had just moved here and called a few places that didn't accept new patients for 4-6 weeks, others had outrageous prices. North Elm got me right in and their staff is so kind and amazing. If you are looking for a caring environment with affordable prices, look no further. All 3 of my dogs are now going here.

After having a traumatic experience with a previous vet and then finding ourselves with a reactive dog, Dr. Reyes and the amazing staff here have been integral in successfully navigating the challenges of caring for a reactive dog. Though our other dog isn’t reactive, she’s somewhat fearful and the Fear Free approach works very well for her. We are so grateful for you all!

Experiencia fantástica: My year old Ragdoll cat was experiencing a severe blockage in her intestines, and the situation was incredibly dire. The skill and compassion of the entire team, from the front desk staff to the surgical team and the veterinary technicians, were truly remarkable. The level of care was above and beyond anything I could have expected, with surgery performed right before closing. Dr. Parsons stayed 2 hours beyond closing for our girl. She not only saved my cat's life but also provided her with such incredible care and love during her stay. The communication was excellent, and I was kept informed every step of the way, which was a huge comfort during such a stressful and emotional time. My cat is now recovering and slowly getting back to her happy, sweet loving self, and I have no doubt that it's thanks to your incredible service. We are so grateful for everything you've done. With sincere gratitude, I highly recommend the exceptional veterinary care provided at your clinic, particularly for the surgery performed on my Ragdoll cat, Cristal, last week. We were new to this vet and are now proud to call them "our vet" for both of our Ragdoll cats.

Experiencia fantástica: Our rescue cat is a handful, beautiful and difficult/ spicy as they say. They do a good job with her, and sedation is usually necessary for injury treatment. I don't think it's the cheapest very in town, but I do highly recommend them for great communication and care.

Experiencia negativa: My Experience with North Elm Animal Hospital and the Loss of My Dog, Lucas I am sharing this difficult story to help other pet owners make informed decisions about their animal's care. On July 16, 2025, my dog Lucas underwent TPLO surgery at North Elm Animal Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He had injuries in both hind legs, but the clinic chose to operate on only one leg. Despite the known instability in the other leg, no brace, support device was offered. I was also not made aware of the full risks involved in placing full weight (93 pound husky) on an already compromised limb during recovery. Thirteen days later, on July 29, 2025, Lucas collapsed and had to be euthanized. I have received no follow-up communication from the veterinarian who performed the surgery or the primary on this case, Dr. Claudia Sims, DVM, or from the clinic itself. As of today, no explanation or outreach has been made regarding his death. I left a message with the front desk on a Monday afternoon. No call from the primary doctor. I called back the next morning and the doctor was not in that day. Another doctor had to put my dog down on Tuesday morning. Still never heard from the primary doctor. 13 days after surgery, almost $6000 in cost and all I have to show for it is a dead DOG. I’ve submitted a request for Lucas’s full medical records and am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board and possible other legal means. This has been a deeply painful and confusing experience, and while I understand that no surgery is risk-free, I believe that I was not fully informed of all risks or options available to protect Lucas — especially considering his condition involved both legs. I trusted the professionals involved, and I believe I had the right to know more — and the right to be contacted after the tragic outcome. If you are considering this hospital for your pet’s surgical care, I strongly urge you to ask detailed questions, request all possible options (including conservative treatments like bracing), and ensure that post-operative care and follow-up are clearly discussed and documented. This post is not intended to defame, only to share my experience so that other pet owners may be empowered to advocate for their animals more fully. UPDATE: Aug 2. The clinic did send a sympathy card today.

The staff here from the Front desk, to assistants, to techs, to doctors they really care about your pets. green flag #3 you can really tell they love their job. I truly couldn’t be happier with my experience at this vet and will definitely be making this my kittens primary care place!

Experiencia negativa: Hilarious the way you ignore customers whom you’ve wronged, and only respond to positive reviews. This place is truly sickening, and has a lack of respect and empathy for customers. I wish I knew the name of the employee that took it upon themselves to select my dogs urn from a list of complimentary urns, then turned around and straight lied and told me only one urn was available when I called them out on their BS. LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES. Call Agape, they’ll inform you of what your options really are. It’s in bad taste to select a pet parents urn just because you don’t feel like offering them other options! I decided to take my dog to Banfield and put her on a monthly plan as opposed to bringing my remaining dog to this establishment. You chose my urn because you thought you wouldn’t get caught but you did. Do better!!

Experiencia fantástica: They continue to provide the best, most personal and sensitive care. They have provided for three of our "best friends" during the 18 years we have lived here. From catching a serious disease and curing it to the sensitive sympathy I needed at the end of one dog's life they, especially Dr. Sims, have been remarkable.

Experiencia negativa: Just no. My experience here from beginning to end was quite unpleasant, and the icing on the cake was having a staff member select an urn for me. According to who you’re contracted with, you have a selection of complimentary urns for pet parents to select from NOT JUST ONE! You pay more money for a private cremation and only offer one standard box? Yeah right!! This is not my first rodeo, and I know the urn was in fact chosen for me. I reached out to the business that this hospital is contracted with, and was told/shown what my actual options were. I decided to go with a more expensive urn for Sage through Agape in the end. I’ll never be back to this establishment. Learn respect and boundaries!

She treated my sick cat with care and compassion and answered all of my questions. I will definitely continue to bring all of our fur babies to this practice! Update: I visited North Elm with my dog for her annual exam and vaccines today. I continue to be extremely satisfied with the doctors and staff here. Dr. Andrew is great!

Experiencia fantástica: I first went to North Elm animal hospital a couple of months ago with my dog to just get her nails done. They seemed very nice, very respectful. I recently went for her heartworm test, annual exam and once again her nails. I met with Dr. Reyes and she was a sweet doctor. She asked us questions asked if we have any concerns. She took the time to discuss anything with us, and unfortunately my dog has glaucoma so she can’t see that well. She actually informed us that we could put artificial teardrops, which I never even knew about and she just overall was very respectful. I personally love them. This is the second time I went to them. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They treat your dog like it’s their own dog. Super nice, super respectful and they get back to you immediately. The other vet that I was going to they never got back to me, took them over a day or two days to email me every time I called them, they had a nasty attitude on the phone. I am so glad that I found this place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

But I also want to commend the people that she works with, and not only the other vets but everyone involved in that office. A great group of caring, friendly and professional staff. And all of the vets are outstanding...I know, my Hunter has seen all of them at one time or another.

The employees worked with Sadie and got her to comply. They are always compassionate and welcoming. They sincerely love your pet. The prices are not too high either; our vet in Concord was more expensive. We have been pleased with this vet and would recommend them to anyone with difficult or compliant pets. They are great with them all!

Experiencia negativa: We have been using this vet for about 7 years and they are always very rude and INCREDIBLY overpriced. Now I am losing confidence in their ability to diagnose our animals. They will try to guilt you into expensive tests and treatments that are absolutely unnecessary. Their default when issuing a prescription is to hand you their pills (which is about 5x the cost of getting it filled elsewhere) instead of writing a prescription. “Exspecially” avoid DR. Klein. Because that is the way she pronounces the word especially. She seems very inexperienced and untrustworthy. This vet cares more about the cash grab than helping animals. We will be finding a new vet after this last visit.

Experiencia fantástica: My canines have been with North Elm over 6 years. Dr. Angel Coates, is absolutely fabulous! Not only does she have a wealth of knowledge, she listens to her clients. She was the first veterinarian to take action after I voiced concerns regarding my Jack Russell, Drake, after years of discussing with other veterinarian’s. Because she took me seriously, our Drake was able to live many more years, where his symptoms were controlled. Also, all of the staff, from the front desk, to the vet nurses, assistants and anyone in between, are always pleasant and professional. I can’t say enough about this wonderful practice.

When Dr. Mitchell retired we switched to Dr. Borgmann who we discovered provides the same level of care. We have occasionally seen other vets in this practice and every one of them has been superb. We have always felt like the vet was completely focused on our dog's well being. The vets are only part of the experience. The vet techs and staff really care about the animals and their owners. When we had to put one of our dogs down, one of the staff members came over to us and said some kind words about our girl then gave me and my wife each a hug. It was very kind and sincere. We couldn't be more pleased with North Elm Animal Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't think of a thing that could've been done differently. Everyone is kind and helpful and just absolutely loves my lil Arti. So I know he will be taken care of whether I'm there or not. I have no complaints or concerns. Everyone there loves their job, and it shows. 1yr later.....everything is still the same as I said it was. They absolutely love my Arti. They sit and answer my questions and concerns, and never once did I feel rushed to move it along. I felt as though she had all the time in the world. And not once did she act like she needed to go or stand up to leave. I love this place and will take all my animals here from now on. Thank you, North Elm Animal Hospital, and most importantly, thank you, Dr. Lemyre. Arti went in to have his mani pedi. I called this morning, and they had him in this afternoon. We walked in and they took him straight back and in less time it took me to pay and get his refills of heart worm meds he was done. He looks and feels so much better. There's nothing I can say that I haven't above. Love North Elm Animal Hospital! Ok, here we are another year, another review, and I can not emphasize how much I love this place and these doctors. Especially his doctor, Dr. Lemyre. My lil one is scared of most things, but they were patient and took their time until he was ready and ok to get is blood drawn and take his nasal meds. I am sure they're the same way with all animals, not just my lil one. So if looking for a great vet N. Elm Animal Hospital is top notch

When I needed them the most! Their love and care was outstanding! They were very helpful to our needs and fast assistance to our Arabella. Now I would not trust no one else with my babies. Experiencia fantástica: Years ago, when I had to change vets(my old one left Greensboro), I interviewed a number of good vets in this city. North Elm Vet was the best of the best. Most importantly, they genuinely care and are very compassionate, greeting my animals by name when we arrive. But, they also stay on top of the latest medical news and are very pro-active in the care of your pet. Vets tend to be good people. North Elm folks are great people.

Experiencia fantástica: Today was one of the hardest days ever. My baby girl was only 9.5 years old, and her health started declining rapidly. My family and I recently moved to Greensboro, and called several veterinarians to see my baby. North Elm was able to see us immediately, and we had never been there before. The whole team was amazing. The doctor did tell us she had cancer, but was able to get the fluid out of her lungs, which helped her breathing tremendously. We were able to take her back home to give her more loving, and some treats, lunch, and water, but she later still showed signs she was suffering. The office closes at 6pm, but the whole team stayed late for us to come back to send her to heaven. It has been very hard and emotional, but everyone was so kind, comforting, and I don’t think she could have been in better hands. Thank you so much again, North Elm. I appreciate everything you did for us. I love and miss you so much, Charlie!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Klein and Dr. Sims deserve the highest praise for how quickly and efficiently they handled my dogs illness. They communicated clearly with me, shared data, gave me their professional opinion and then performed surgery without a hitch! They followed up via phone call every time they said they would, they listened and respected my opinion. I need to add that this was the first time Dr. Klein saw my dog as my veterinarian had left the practice. She will forever be Lucy’s doctor as my trust and confidence has hit a new level. Hats off to North Elm Animal Hospital! The staff is top notch!!

Experiencia fantástica: My cat was hurt overnight and I couldn't tell if he had been hit by a car or in a cat fight. I was able to leave him at North Elm to be worked in. Luckily nothing was broken but he limped for several days from a cat bite and bacteria. I appreciate they were able to take time to look him over and treat him while I worked and call with the news that he was ok.

Experiencia fantástica: Let me explain why North Elm deserves 5 stars. I have a shih-tzu (brachycephalic breed) who began vomiting with no explanation. Dr. Coates, took his record, dissected it, and called me for ANY explanation as to why he might be vomiting. After some back and forth, we decided on emergency exploratory surgery to understand if there was a bowel obstruction. There ended up not being an obstruction, so we are still figuring it all out, but that's ok as long as I have Dr. Coates by my side. I was THREE DAYS into his treatment and she didn’t mention one word about what all of this would cost. I have insurance for my pup, but I didn’t feel like Dr. Coates cared if I was able to pay. I honestly felt like the only concern for Dr. Coates was making my pup better. I love North Elm Vet and trust them completely with the care of my pups.

Everyone (!) from Sarah & Jennifer at check-in, to Cynthia (who sent me a timely update), to Reid (who patiently provided follow-up info) were professional, kind, compassionate and most-understanding. Experiencia fantástica: This place is hands down one of the best vets in all of Greensboro! The doctors and all the staff have incredible patience with the animals and really care about your pet. The facility itself is quite clean - with the number of pets that come through their doors each day, it amazes me that they can keep it that clean and not smelling like dogs. When we had to put our beloved pet to sleep, they took such great care of him (AND US!).

Experiencia fantástica: This was my cat’s first dental cleaning at North Elm Animal Hospital and they definitely exceeded my expectations! I’ve had issues in the past with my cat’s dentals, so was a bit anxious when I dropped her off. They spent extra time calming both of us down and explaining the extra time they take in the back to ensure pets are cared for super close before, during, and after the procedure. I saw the difference in my cat as soon as she got home—no stress and now, clean teefs!!

Experiencia fantástica: As always, N. Elm provides excellent service. For this visit, Dr. Coates did not disappoint. She even took the time to walk into the customer waiting area with me to give me a brief introduction to prescription pet food they had in the lobby. Supporting staff were super awesome as well. As a cat owner, I was amazed at how Brook got my cat to warm up to her and I found out later she doesn't even own cats. Great service all around!

Dr Matt Borgmann is thorough & diligent about helping us keep them both as healthy as possible & explains everything about their exams & necessary treatments. We have always had great care given to Brandi & Clooney. Kudos to a wonderful loving group of professionals.

Experiencia negativa: The vet who works there can’t remember her name, but she was very nasty and rude. Will recommend to everyone I know not to go there. Oh and after the bill was over $500 of course she changed her attitude. When got home over looked the bill on the invoice and was over changed. They changed twice for a service. So make sure you look over the bill you get there.
