Experiencia negativa: BEWARE!! DON'T SIGN ANYTHING THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ESPECIALLY IF IT INVOLVES UNFAIR PRACTICES INVOLVING FINANCIAL DEBTS REGARDING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!! I owed $4 and they made a big deal about it and charged me interest and other bogus fees in the amount of $53!! They have sent a letter in collections that I'm fighting because they are WRONG! It's unfortunate this place couldn't even try and communicate with me and are making such a big deal over a $79 fee that I only paid $75 I was short $4! They also misdiagnosed my dog. They told me my dog had doggy dementia and then my dog couldn’t walk two days later. They are more concerned with money than the animals. I would never go here again.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been coming to this clinic since Dr Hunter was still in practice and love both Dr Shrag’s. The scheduling is a little different but it works. They have been great every time I see them and I trust them. A lot of people complain about having to pay for veterinary care but I have always found their prices reasonable. My dog is family to me and she’s worth the cost that’s expected with owning a pet. In the past I considered changing to a vet that has weekend appointments but Hunter is flexible. Pets can be dropped off for all or part of the day, seen by the vet and picked up when convenient for the owner. I will stick with them as long as I am a pet owner.
Experiencia negativa: I have been a long-time customer of Hunters'. I absolutely and genuinely appreciate the work they do there, the compassion they show, and how much you can tell they care about your pets. That said, tonight, one worker has me re-considering, and finding a new clinic. I have an older dog with two completely torn ACLs. I cannot afford to fix her. So some time ago, I spoke with Dr. Schrag about a plan to keep her comfortable with meds until it is no longer feasible to do so. So tonight, I call as I usually do to request a monthly refill. The lady who called me back was rude, argumentative and absolutley no help whatsoever. Claiming things that had never been an issue before. She made me feel like a bad pet owner for not doing what she wanted for my pet. Which who is she? My Dr. and I are the ones who made the plan. Not you. Anyways, I didn't argue and hung up on her. Before doing so, I did ask her multiple times to have the Dr. contact me directly (which she told me was impossible). I even offered to come in for an apt. to discuss with him (she still didn't do that! and contnued talking over me, which is where I gave up and hung up). Dr. Schrag is who I pay for and why I've been such a long-time customer. Not whoever this lady returning calls was. Anyways, this lady calls me 2 more times before leaving a voice-mail. In the voice-mail she tells me she talked with the Dr. (despite her telling me it was virtually impossible to get a hold of him), and essentially says "I am right and you are wrong". With the sarcastic "Have a nice day". I was so infuriated that I am strongly considering finding a new clinic, despite all of the good work Dr. Schrag and most of his other team do. That's why this is 2☆, down from 5. I really hope this reaches the right eyes and they fire whoever this undeserving of a job (especially where compassion and honesty are vital) person is. It was "Emily" by the way. Bad day or not, you have no excuse.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve taken my dog to Hunter a few times in a pinch, and they’ve always been the most affordable place I’ve found. They have systems in place to get your fur baby in last minute, which I’ve struggled to find at many other clinics—especially at a reasonable price. Today I received the news I’ve been dreading: my sweet girl is terminal. The level of care and empathy I received was truly incomparable. When they told me she was in pain and gently asked if I wanted to let her go today, they did it with such compassion. When I cried and said I couldn’t, they gave her medication to help her symptoms for a short time so I could come to terms with everything. They had my baby’s best interest at heart, and mine. As a loving fur mama for half my life, they recognized my pain, cared for her with genuine tenderness, and supported me in the kindest way possible. I’m so grateful for every experience I’ve had with this vet.
Experiencia fantástica: The husband and wife that own this practice are incredibly dedicated, thorough, and kind. My boxer puppy had symptoms difficult to diagnose - but this clinic has proven to be competent and caring, even calling me with results after hours to share the info and their advice. Their administrative staff are professional, friendly, and helpful. 100% highly recommend this practice.
Experiencia fantástica: I've been going to hunters for years and have never had a bad experience. They have taken great care of my dogs, cat, me, and my partner. I went there once in an emergency years ago and I immediately started using them for everything, because I've never trusted a vet like I do them. They are also flexible and make access to pet care more affordable. This is not just a job to them, it's their way of life and their priority, and it's very obvious.

Experiencia fantástica: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Hunter Veterinary Clinic took amazing care of my girl Lady today. She’s usually very high-anxiety at the vet, but everyone there understood her completely and treated her with so much patience and kindness. The vet techs and doctors were wonderful with her, gentle, reassuring, and really attentive to her needs. Even the front desk staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Lady felt completely at ease with them, which meant a lot to me. Their pricing was also amazing, which I truly appreciate. I’m so grateful for the care they gave her. Highly recommend Hunter Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for a team that truly loves and understands animals.
Experiencia negativa: This place was absolutely horrible! Receptionist and whoever else was behind the counter showed zero compassion for my friend who was having an emergency with her macaw who shes had 26 years . They knew we were coming prior to our removing him from his life saving oxygen chamber he had spent the prior night in, barely made the trip from idaho and we were turned away because the doctor wasn't going to be there.... This was scheduled the day prior with the same lady! This lady also told her to have him euthanized. Well he is still alive thank to Union Vet Hospital on Sprague in Spokane. WSU called them to let them know we were coming in with an emergency and when we walked through the doors they literally jumped up, i think it was 3 different staff members rushed to us, apologized to the full waiting room " sorry we have an emergency" and rushed us to a room. For the next 5 hours the entire staff there went above and beyond what any other place would ever do to ensure we were able to transport Kamokie, the Macaw, was able and stable enough to make the hour and 40 minute drive to WSU Veterinary Hospital in Pullman even helping build a home made oxygen chamber for transport. He did wonderful and is now in WSU'S care. They were also wonderful ave he's doing better. So much for euthanizing him! I would not recommend Hunters. No compassion for animals or their owners at that front desk
Experiencia negativa: This is the worse place I’ve ever been to. The secretary is awful, no compassion. When I called to make an appointment she told me to put my bird down. To kill him. The next day when I drove 45 minutes she told me I shouldn’t have come. The dr. Wasn’t in. He wouldn’t be there until the next day. I asked her if I should get a hotel and stay in Spokane until tomorrow. My bird couldn’t make the ride back without oxygen. She said it wouldn’t be worth it. When I asked for a drink she replied,”if you say please” knowing my sick macaw needed some water. Many staff people walked by and looked at me and just ignored me. Never asking if need help. I have never been so upset. My macaw I’ve had for 26 years was very very sick. My vet contacted this place and set up a visit. This lady? Should not deal with the public. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Luckily a caring animal hospital Union animal hospital came to the rescue. The best place ever everyone was so helpful kind and loving. The entire staff was amazing. I would recommend union animal hospital if you want the best care without the wicket witch treating you like garbage. I gave it 1 star because I don’t know about the doctor. But if his staff is this bad it makes me wonder if he’s the same. Union hospital. Very reasonably priced. The staff are all angles and Dr. Sutton is amazing. She saved my macaw!

Experiencia fantástica: I will never stop recommending Hunter’s vet. From back in 2022 with my old man Elvis. they were so kind and patient. We unfortunately had to put him down due to age and complications but they were extremely understanding and kind during our visit. When we got his ashes he was in a velvet bag with a card signed by the entire clinic. Needless to say I cried like a baby. Even now with my second cat, Livie, they have been amazing. They’ve seen her through diabetes diagnosis to remission to any little thing that she needs. Theyre amazing and kind and overall my top pick gor a vet. I drive from across town and I don’t care because of how amazing they are!

Experiencia fantástica: I can't express how appreciative I am of this place. They took my kitty Parker in without an appointment when I couldn't afford the emergency vet. They worked with my budget and gave him the best care. It's so rare to find a vet that truly cares about the animals. I will never take my cats any where else. Thank you so much for being so kind.

Experiencia positiva: My poor little diamond dove started to act very ill (unable to hold her head up) and I ended up using the Saturday walk-in. This clinic does appointments VERY strangely and is basically unusable for those who work a typical 9-5 (unless you usually take PTO to take your animals to the vet, I guess). The Saturday walk-in works OK for me though and worked out good in this particular case. Be aware: the walk-in opens at 9, but people actually start getting numbers well before that. I showed up at 8:40 and was #11. I kind of wish they let people know that ahead of time. I ended up being helped at 10:50. And ended up leaving at 11:30. There aren’t many options in Spokane for birds/reptile/small pets. They did do that thing where they just take your animal back without you. I know this is due to COVID, but I literally haven’t encountered this at any other vet besides the ER vet. I cannot stand this. That is MY pet you’re treating and I am vaccinated and masked. I would like to know what you’re doing with them. But again, with a bird on a Saturday and short notice, they were the only option. Everyone there was super nice. The vet explained the situation and gave me options. We decided the most humane thing would be to euthanize her (I expected this outcome, so was not surprised). I was sad, but thankful someone was able to help my poor little dove. I couldn’t handle watching her decline/suffer for another second. The wait was long, but that kind of goes with walk-in services and the staff was kind. The pricing was reasonable; a little over $100. I probably wouldn’t bring my other pets here (including my other exotics), but that’s just because I prefer to go into the appointment room with my pets, and typically need afternoon appointments for routine visits. Lowering review one star for the impossible appointment scheduling. The same day appointments don’t seem to include exotic visits which is very frustrating. Found another clinic that could see my gecko same day. Scheduling here is next to impossible.
Experiencia negativa: As far as Dr Mark and Dr Sara Schlage i would HIGHLY recommend them as your vet they are very compassionate and caring about your pet and your concerns. The one star is Dr Casey Carl he is only in it for the money, ALL i got out of him was “ i think it looks like this so let’s try that and bring him back in 2weeks” we did this for many months and he never did blood work i HAD to demand it to get it done then not sure he new how to read it, cause when i took my Boo back he wanted to do more blood work to get more money. Boo’s blood work showed Thyroid and cholesterol issues ect. but he didn’t want to address those yet without more blood work and test. So if you use Hunters Vet just don’t get Dr. casey Carl unless you have huge bank account. Kudos though to Dr Mark and Dr. Sara Schrag they are true loving caring Vets.bottom line booboo became completely lethargic weak and stopped eating and worse stopped taking ALL his meds he desperately needed for 2 weeks when i talked to Dr. Casey Carl he refused to put him down and seemed to be ok with all that he just wanted me to bring him in for more money on blood work AGAIN that he just did over a month ago, and said “ good luck to you two and hung up

I'm pretty broke and they always say "heres what we suggest and how much it costs, here's what we can get away with doing minimum" to work with me, and it helped save my cat from a real bad spot since he's immunodeficient. been coming to them for years.
Experiencia negativa: If the Adubon society sends you this way, just know, HUNTERS has no interest in helping or returning wild birds back to nature.I dont know why they say they do???If you want a wild bird to survive, rehabilitate yourself, or find a private knowledgable rehabilitation person. I brought in a healthy baby owl. Believe me, No money equals, death sentence. What was I thinking?? Besides that, HUNTERS is alright, they used to be great. I just wish they'd turned me away and been honest with their intentions.

The staff and doctors don’t just do their jobs; they offer genuine, heartfelt care. It’s not that other clinics don’t try, but there’s something uniquely comforting about this place—something that puts both humans and animals at ease. One brilliant touch that sets them apart is the quiet entrance specifically designed for cats and other more sensitive animals. It’s such a thoughtful feature and speaks volumes about how much they truly understand their patients’ needs. The second thing you’ll notice is their expertise. I had previously taken my little one, Spicy, to another vet who spent all of five minutes with us, gave her a quick once-over, and sent us on our way—offering no real insight into her ongoing issues. At Hunter, it was a completely different experience. From the start, the staff and doctors were attentive, careful, and thorough. It felt like the level of care you'd expect at a high-quality medical visit for a human. The doctor took his time, running several tests and explaining each step. Although he didn’t have a definitive diagnosis, he conducted thoughtful physical exams and finally gave me clarity: Spicy’s back legs were no longer functioning properly, which was likely causing her wounds. They also did a full panel and found her internal organs were in great shape—especially impressive given her age. That visit gave me something I hadn’t had in months: peace of mind and real understanding. Weeks later, what I learned continues to help me care for her more confidently and lovingly. Thank you, Hunter Veterinary Clinic, for doing things differently—and doing them with so much heart.

We had to leave our pet rat today for a procedure and they let us leave his brother with him for companionship. We knew he would be would be well taken care of - and he was. ❤️ It’s hard to find a vet who sees small critters and we are so thankful we found Hunter Vet!
Experiencia negativa: Just called to make and appointment for my dog and was told my dog cannot be seen there no reasons why at all just purely discriminated against. So I'm wondering don't vets have legal obligations to tell a person why there pet can't be seen I know the Washington veterinarian board makes rule that vets need to advise clients why there pet can't be seen and it not then am I being discriminated against. I know Alexis Rozz at the front desk there is one my friends so I'm wondering what's going on and why my dog cannot be seen.
Experiencia negativa: Disappointed with my visit. Front staff/techs were nice. But the veterinarian rushed through my visit. She talked super fast saying she had other appointments to get to. She told me my cat had a terminal illness and was trying to leave asap. She obviously has too many clients and didn’t seem to care about my cat. I was also told my visit with blood test would be 200 when it was 400. Will never come back here. Do not recommend

Experiencia fantástica: Lucy came to Hunter Vet her entire life --- from her adoption puppy shots in August 2012 to crossing the rainbow bridge this morning. Dr. Schrag and his team provided outstanding service to Lucy --- and they are continuing to provide outstanding service to her brother, Toby. Quality, compassionate care at a fair price. Wonderful doctor team and wonderful techs and office staff. I can't thank them enough.
Experiencia fantástica: I have not had a single complaint about them in the 5 years I've been taking my sugar gliders to them. They are very professional prompt and reasonably priced. They've now done three neuters for me and one emergency surgery for a dental/ eye abscess. Extremely grateful for the Specialized Care they give my sugar babies
Experiencia negativa: Please do not give these thieves your business. They jack up the price on over the counter products and lie to you, claiming the OTC is prescription only. They told me they would be specially formulating drops for my dog in their lab and it would be tailored to his needs. They grabbed a bottle of OTC drops and slapped a prescription label on it. Worse, they charged me 3x the price on Amazon! DO NOT GO HERE.
Experiencia fantástica: It can be hard to get an appointment sometimes since they only do same-day, but this is one of the best places I have ever taken my cats to. The vets here go the extra mile every time. When my cat was very sick they kept him over the day to give him fluids and helped him eat, and it made such a huge difference in helping my boy recover. They are so caring and so kind, and if you're able to get in to see them I recommend them every time.
Experiencia negativa: Just went in to get my dogs ear checked and a wellness visit to have a new vet. I informed both the front and the veterinary assistant my dog has fear based aggression and that although she was wearing a muzzle, she has never bit anyone it was just a precaution. No exam was done. Ears were briefly looked at. The just gave me a med and charged me about $110. Then to get home to see that the instructions the vet wrote were vague and different than what was on the manufacture box. If staff is uncomfortable or uneducated on how to approach a reactive done please send them on their way instead of charging someone money to do nothing.
Experiencia negativa: Edit to my review: my other dog needed emergency surgery due to obstruction, when it came time to pay ($4000) and 10pm at night I said I couldn’t pay it all due to debit card limits and I can’t liquidate money at 10pm. Dr Schrag treated me like a criminal, saying any other major treatment would need to be paid up front. Made me sign paperwork agreeing to pay, he acted disgusted with me. Not to mention I paid 20k to them for my other dog in the last year, guess that didn’t matter. The kicker- the emergency surgery they did killed my dog. Found her dead on the kitchen floor 36 hours later. But don’t worry I still paid them their $4000. Dr Hunter should have never chose the Schrags to take his practice over. They only care about the money. Oh and they never even called to check up on per post surgery. Won’t ever be back. I go to garland now. My dog, Dixie, has been seen by them for the past 14 years. When she was a year old she had to have ear surgery. I was an 18 year old living on my own and I knew I couldn’t pay for it. They let me make payments, and were absolutely compassionate about my dog. she couldn’t bear weight on her front leg. Dr. Shaver found an osteosarcoma in her shoulder. I was informed the leg would need to be amputated the next morning or we could talk the ugly E word (euthanasia). I opted for the amputation. She had to have the surgery repeated two weeks later due to a complication. The whole time they apologized for having to spend more money and even gave me a discount. My pup has insurance so I wasn’t worried about the cost. (Strongly recommend trupanion!!) Dixie thrived with her new 3 legged body that wasn’t in pain anymore. Everything was great! They called frequently to check on her. 6 months later she got a hematoma on her ear. Their appointments were full, so I got online at 10am and scheduled an appointment no problem. She had the ear surgery and Dr. Shaver kept following up until she knew the ear infection was gone. 6 weeks later brings us to now. I had to take Dixie in to emergency vet because it was Saturday at 9pm, she wasn’t walking and was vomiting and had eye nystagmus. She was diagnosed with vestibular disease. Hunter vet called on Monday to check on Dixie after her emergency visit. Few days later she wasn’t improving. All visits full. 10am scheduler full. No appointments and it’s a Friday. I’m scared and sad and really want to get her seen by someone who knows her history. The schedulers called me back after I left a message, and said bring her down right now we will work her in. I head down and get there and start crying telling them what’s going on, they are so patient, I believe Emily is her name she is the office manager she is always so caring whenever I come in. She treats dixie like her own. Dr. Shaver calls with a new plan of attack on a middle ear infection that might be worsening her symptoms of vestibular disease. I was expecting her to recommended the dreaded E word. But she cares enough to try this first. Next steps are a CT scan if no improvement on the antibiotics. I know that Dr. Shaver cares about Dixie and knows how much she means to me, but will tell me when there is no other option anymore besides letting her go to the rainbow bridge. They called Saturday when they were closed to check on Dixie and made sure to tell me they will call back on Monday. All of the schedulers, techs, Dr. Shaver, the Schrags, are wonderful people. They cried with me when we got her cancer diagnosis. They cried when we wheeled her out after her amputation, twice. They come rub her belly when we come in. They celebrated with me when she thrived on 3 legs running through the clinic. And Emily carried her yesterday when she couldn’t walk. Edited 4/24 to add: Dixie crossed the rainbow bridge on 3/24/23.

Experiencia fantástica: Hunters veterinary clinic is by far the best vet clinic you can go to. I presented them my 4 year old rescue leopard gecko who has had shedding trouble and was immediately met with profession. Hunters fit me in on short notice and was able to assess and treat my leopard gecko in a fashionable manner and supply me with very helpful information. This isn’t my first visit but I will continue to return after the experience I had today.
Experiencia negativa: Went in was quoted a price for check up an shots. I had prior paperwork from our other vet stating we had these shots. So our dog would not need them for another year but I still had to pay for those shots. It's hard enough as we are limited on income I won't be going back since they care about money more then the animals

I’ve been bringing my dog to them for several years but My favorite things about this vet are 1) They treat exotic animals. 2) They’re affordable. 3) they have a Saturday FCFS walk in clinic. (This usually results in a long wait time in the car but when no appointments are available this is a great option) Having an exotic pet vet this close and available is a blessing. Not many will treat reptiles so finding out that my dogs vet can treat my snakes was amazing. Vets are expensive. Hunters is not. Very reasonable prices.
Experiencia fantástica: Hunter Vet Clinic has been absolutely amazing for my kitty, who had been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease early this year. There were a few hiccups when we first started with them, but everything else has far outweighed my initial anxieties. This was the first pet that I had cared for fully on my own. He moved out with me, and I had previous experience with cats, but no idea what I was doing in regards to when anything went wrong. On top of this, family never took our animals to vets and told me I was wasting my money, so I didn't know what to expect. Every vet we saw was very patient with me, explained things to me in detail, and made sure that I understood what was going on before taking him back home. I am low income; there were many times where full diagnostics were difficult for me, so they gave me options to make sure he still got care, and checked with me before doing anything I may not be able to afford. They always made sure my cat was as comfortable as he could be at appointments. We had to make the difficult decision to euthanize him last month, and even that was done with utmost care. The office was so kind and gentle at a time where I would otherwise have been in hysterics. I am so, so thankful for everything they have done for us, even after he took his last breath. I was able to pick up his urn directly from the office. Today, I opened my mailbox, and there was a card signed from staff, which I have set next to his urn and nose print. I will absolutely continue bringing any animal in my care to this clinic. Thank you all. ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: It is hard to find good care for a bunny but Hunter Vet does a marvelous job and takes everyone’s fear and anxiety right down. In less than 15 minutes, they had our bun’s nails trimmed perfectly and us on our way home. Immense thanks to this wonderful team of people!
Experiencia negativa: I have had a very bad experience, hunters told us to bring our puppy in that ate a bat or thought to have. They told us to bring him in and they will euthanize without question. We took him to kings vet in airway and they gave him medicine to throw up the said bat, but nothing came out, so he got rabies shots and sent him home. We have to keep an eye on him but he's fine now.

Experiencia negativa: We wanted to see Dr Schrag as he has had many good reviews. I got off the phone to the receptionist feeling angry and frustrated. I think I spoke to someone called Mary. During the call, she constantly interrupted me and seemed uncaring. This review is solely on the appointments booking system, and the receptionist I spoke to. We've been told to call at 10am on Fridays to get a same day appointment - every single time, no one answers. We get a call back eventually to tell us we won't be seen. I get it, they're busy - but like I said, when I was speaking to the receptionist, she was kind of rude to me and just constantly cutting me off every time I was asking a question out of concern for our pet's wellbeing. This is for a bird, who hide their symptoms when they're sick until it gets very serious. So we're left having to figure out if it's safe to carry on trying to get an appointment here or go somewhere else.
Experiencia negativa: I usually have had an ok experience with this place. I called and spoke with the receptionist regarding refilling my dogs medicine. During that conversation I had questions regarding if he needed vaccinations. The lady indicated that he has to have a full annual before getting vaccinations. I was not understanding this because my husband brought him in earlier this year and it came across as that was completed. I brought him in for other vaccinations he was due for and that wasn’t explained to me. When I tried to get the understanding the lady was very rude by telling me she’s not going to argue with me and hung up on me. Now I’m worried that my dog won’t get his medicine. I’m in a customer facing position to and it’s never helpful to tell a customer you aren’t going to argue with them when all they have is questions. The front desk lady can use some more training or time off and hopefully my dog will get the care he needs.

Experiencia fantástica: Been going to hunters...Dr. Schragg for 16 years ALLWAYS encouraged me to do wellness checks yearly on my cockatiels lately does not seem to have time to see my cockatiels get in line to busy called on my day off 7-9-24 same day appointment never called me back they had 30 calls I pay $78.00 - $100.00 for the wellness check on my little cockatiels I have no problem with the charge it's the lack of concern for something as simple as a wellness check on a small cockatiel so I will no longer do a wellness check on my cockatiels of which I have gone to hunters for over 16 years and my attitude and decision is now if they get sick I will just let them die go thru the loss and heartache and never trust a vet again with my cockatiels WELLNESS why bother doing a wellness when your vet does not support them better off letting them go into the wild fend for themselves 7-12-24 12noon received a personal phone call from my birds vet Dr.Schragg after speaking with him for several minutes realized how much he does care for the wellness off my cockatiel family I did not know that Dr. Hunter had passed away and that Dr.schragg and his family took on and continued the business and the name and promises to there customers and there pets I am ashamed of my review and retract every last word I made prior my cockatiels have and ALLWAYS will luv Dr.shragg and trust him when there in his hands I have gone thru 3 cancer deaths with my tiels and Dr. Schragg and each time he was ALLWAYS compassionate and supportive and there to do whatever it took to heal or treat the tiels and make it easier for them and me to go thru the process Punkin lil punkie and whistler were his 3 patients with cancer sadly like Dr. Schragg ALLWAYS told me birds hide there sickness until it's to late its a natural defense in the cockatiel to hide its illness from predators but Punkin lil punkie and whistler were in the best care with Dr .Schragg which gave me a little more time with them so I could say goodbye and finally I say again I regret my horrible review of Hunter vetrenary clinic and my review has now been updated to reflect my true feelings for hunters and Dr. Schragg I recommend and support hunters and have a wellness appointment set for today at 430p.m thank you Dr.Schragg for humbling me and for reassuring me of your commitment to my cockatiels family signed Dan Dora Joy Bon. Experiencia fantástica: So impressed. My pigeon, Cricket, was close to death, they got her in the same day and did surgery the next to remove a metal wire embedded in her gut. I didn't expect her to live but the surgeon was incredibly skilled and got the metal out and she is getting her strength back. Was a near thing, but now I can keep training her in her harness and she will have years of walks and sunflower seeds to come. My daughter has taken her rats there for years. The staff are welcoming and warm and did follow up calls to make sure all was well. Very happy

Experiencia fantástica: The service here went above and beyond for my family. We've been trying to take care of a colony of cats. One of the cats are really sick. He had an disease that he would carry for his life. They helped and worked with us. Sadly he began to suffer more and wasn't eating and losing weight. They made him comfortable and allowed us to be with him till the end. Thank you Hunters for all you do, and did for us. We appreciate you guys so much.
Experiencia negativa: Receptionist was nice but apparently the veterinarian forgot the oath he took to use his scientific knowlege to benefit society and protect animals.. seems like every single one in spokane has forgotten their oath and started being pieces of sh!ts that prey on caring animal parents.. $1000 to drain a wound no payment plan but don't worry if you need a day or two to get funds together they'll wait for you just take your pet home to suffer for as long as it takes you to make up the rest then go ahead and bring them back after you have payment in full as they smile like they're doing you a solid and actually care about your animals well being.. what's an oath anyways but words in this spineless money hungry society. Sounds like they just wanna line their pockets. Which wouldnt be a big deal if you hadnt sworn an oath to not.. not to mention they were a couple hundred dollars more then the emergency vet quoted me..

Experiencia negativa: I rarely give 1 star reviews unless a place actually deserves it. My experience with Dr. Fielding Lowrance and this animal clinic has been deeply disappointing. I'll refer to him as Dr. L. Our Pomeranian was hit by a car and was taken here for care. After a cast, our dog experienced a regular wheezing sound that we reported on multiple occasions but Dr. L brushed aside and didn't take seriously. He said it was not an issue and that we shouldn't worry about it. (lol?!?) After a couple months, the leg did not heal correctly and we had to go in for surgery to amputate the leg. Tragically, she did not survive the surgery, succumbing on the operating table. The unattended diaphragmatic hole(cause of the wheezing) allowed her organ to be pulled through during the surgery's stress, resulting in suffocation during the surgery while she was under anesthesia, killing her. Imagine killing someone's dog after the owner's constantly asked and raised concern about a wheezing that ended up being the cause of death. How did we find out? We came in to pick up our dog and was met with the tragic news. Dr. L gave us the news along with no apology, no regret or sorrow in their words. If I had a chance at winning the lottery or gambling another pet's life to Dr. L, I'll take my chances with the lottery. This place is a huge L
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE!!! Dr. Fielding Lawrance should not be working with animals. He is very cold and does not care for your pets wellbeing. It’s as though he hates the occupation he’s chosen and is completely indifferent to the animals he is supposed to care for. He ignored all of our concerns regarding our dogs wheezing after she was hit by a car. Long story short, the wheezing he adamantly refused to address and told us to not worry about was a punctured diaphragm. During surgery to amputate her leg after months of her broken leg not setting with a cast, she died on the table during surgery. Due to the unaddressed hole in her diaphragm, during the stress of the surgery her organ sucked through her diaphragm and she suffocated. We never got to see Lucky again. Never got a locket of her fur or a paw print. I’m tearing up right now as I write this. We got a call that she had passed and that they would be sending her body to WSU for veterinary students to examine and study. We never got to say goodbye. After all of this trauma, this clinic still demanded we pay $2,300 AFTER KILLING OUR DOG. Please if you care about your animals, do not bring them here.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog from pet emergency to Hunters Veterinary Clinic. I paid over $2k at pet emergency and had no clue what her blood work meant. Just that her liver enzymes were high. Within minutes of being at Hunters, they sat us down and explained what exactly pet emergencies blood workup meant. Pet emergency wanted $6k for an ultrasound and more in-depth blood work. Hunters charged me $500. Hunters was up front and compassionate. They told us the hard reality of what our Gracie was dealing with. They didn't try and suck as much money out of us as they could. And when the time came to send Gracie off to heaven, Hunters staff was so caring and loving. I will always take my pets to Hunters.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible. Took my dog there because his vet moved and I needed a vet to prescribe his thyroid medication, among others. After two blood draws, he still needed to have another one while they decreased his dosage 2 times. I could not just bring him in to have draw, but needed to schedule an afternoon appointment by calling at 10 am and waiting for them to call back, which is the only way you can be seen the same day. The second blood draw, they said he needed to have it checked 2-4 hours after being given his meds. This was not mentioned or questioned when taking the first draw at my afternoon appointment. Since they cannot see him 2-4 hours after his morning meds due to those being reserved for appointments set weeks in advance, they asked me to give it to him later, which would put it at 6 hours after his usual dosage. Rather than work with me, they refuse to see him--or rather me. Now I have to go to yet another vet. Further, they charged me $150 something for the first drawn and $110 for the second one to just check his thyroid. They have decreased his thyroid twice, providing only enough until the next test and a two week buffer. I get his medication from Chewy. The 2nd decrease I ordered right after I got the change, but it did not arrive, so I checked with Chewy Saturday to find out that they faxed two blank scripts with a good one for another medication he's on. Chewy put me on hold and called the office to have them resend it. Staff did not resend it until the following Tuesday, so he went without it for 24 hours. If I could give them no stars I could.

Although he has arthritis in his hips, the laser therapy treatments sure do help. He loves them! Toffee is also a client, and also receives star treatment. Experiencia fantástica: Very Compassionate Vet and staff. I rushed my Lola to their office after driving aimlessly for what felt like forever in a panic to find a vet for her after she had been throwing up and lethargic for a couple days but chicken broth and water seemed to help she was a little more energetic and seemed to be getting better but just hours later she was in a bad way. I called from outside the building and they were quick to provide estimate and I hurried in and they rushed her back. They were very empathetic and the Vet came and provided as much information as possible and got as much information from me as possible. He provided updates on her condition, care given and how she responded to interventions and was very honest about possible outcomes and the potential options for care depending on dx including cost effective options if she needed care for days or weeks and made a point to avoid performing costly tests, procedures etc. unless doing so essential to determine careplan for her & increase probability she would live. He was realistic but hopeful still and he explained her symptoms, his exam and tests preformed and her response to tx in relation diagnosis. All while being Compassionate to my feelings and gave me as much time as I needed to be with her to say goodbye when I wish she coulda got better so I could bring her home to my kids I still recommend and would use for regular pet veterinary needs and emergency services. In just a few hours of time I was there their actions showed me they provided the best care possible and did all they could for her.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve used this place for over ten years. My dog is very healthy and I take him in for all his shots and check ups. Recently I had to take him in and had to take him back soon afterwards only to wait again over 1.5hrs plus hrs in the parking lot and pay again ugh…hello I was just here days ago about the same issue. My general visits were just as long due to the fact appts are so far out! Today I call only to be told to call back in twenty five minutes because they are 3-4 months out on an appts. I was told to get in line for a same day appt so I called at 9:59 only to be in line already. After waiting 5 or so minutes they make you leave a message! by force. I finally got a snotty call back hrs later but I refused to take my pet back! Hunter Vet Clinic has grown to the point in which it can’t assist its long time clients! They are no less money than any other Vet so find your pets need’s elsewhere. This Vet will suck up all your time and money! I’m done with their shenanigans as our pets are our part of the family! Find a Vet that doesn’t practice on your pet but rather diagnose the problem the first time…comebacks cost the consumer at this clinic! Don’t Vist Them!
Experiencia fantástica: Where do we begin. We live in Moses lake and our 15 y/o dog has always been seen by hunters. When she was in severe distress we called and they were able to get us in first thing the next morning. They were willing to see us that evening if we could make it. In a large metropolitan place like Spokane it’s hard to find a good vet to care for your family member especially on a short notice like this. I personally highly recommend hunters vet they are compassionate and caring and truly understand the financial expense that comes with pet care and are upfront and honest with no hidden screw jobs. Experiencia fantástica: My 10-year-old greyhound suffered a badly broken leg and I rushed him to the Hunter Veterinary Clinic. As I did my best to maintain my composure in that frightening moment, Dr. Schrag kept me apprised several times explaining what was happening and why. Tragically, it was discovered that advanced bone cancer had caused the break and I knew I had to say goodbye to my best buddy in the world. I am now heartbroken, but I do want to say that Dr. Schrag's experience, professionalism, and compassion was excellent, and I have the fullest confidence that my pups in the future will receive the best of care at the Hunter Veterinary Clinic.

Experiencia negativa: My first visit I had with Mr. Schrag and he was amazing and very helpful and sat with me for awhile explaining a bunch of different things and to me. He was professional and enlightening. I went back because my dog got an ear infection and I saw Feilding and the whole time she was in a rush, she was rolling her eyes because she had to dumb things down because I’m not familiar with vet med terms. She wasn’t helpful and kept saying she could prescribe things and they might not work and I’ll have to come back multiple times to clear up an ear infection which is absolutely not the case. And in the end she said she was going to compound a medication with steroids in it for his ears but ended up charging me $60 for an ear rinse I can get on Amazon for $20. Which means it’s not compounded nor does it have steroids in it. So not only was she completely rude and unprofessional, she lied about what she was prescribing my dog.

Experiencia negativa: When my cat died they made a huge deal of not refunding two out of the three arthritis shots I bought at a $10 discount because they were bundled. When I asked for a refund I was treated like a person who couldn't understand what a bundled discount was, or like maybe I should have known my sweet cat was going to die. It was only when I insisted on receiving the shots I purchased (so I could donate them) that they gave up their plan to sell the products twice and profit off my loss.
Experiencia negativa: they are salesmen, not a clinic. I’m never coming back, they tried to upsell me on services and meds for my cat the entire time I worked with them. I’m pretty sure they sedated my cat without my permission since his tail was shaved. all I wanted was a consultation and antibiotics and everytime I rejected a service there was an obvious issue. so much so that the doctor had to come tell me in person that I was going against doctors orders and she would document it accordingly. they didn’t even clean the wound and my cat came back bloody and lethargic. disgusting place to take your animals. I’d give negative stars if I could.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our bearded dragon into Hunter’s there once and our cat once as well too, then out of an emergency, took him to mt Spokane vet clinic for possible impaction and in comparison of the two, Hunters is for sure the better option. They took care of my pet and they even made sure to keep him warm and heat up his little rice sock for the travel home. The other place had him for four hours and had him under no heating source whatsoever despite them claiming they did. He was a freaking ice cube. I’ll only be bringing my dragon to hunters from now on. Only complaint is that hunters booking online doesn’t work for me. It’s never available even during the hours it says it open to book.

The Doctor was super knowledgeable and the vet tech played with our traumatized grumpy babe enough to get purrs & was very sweet.
Experiencia fantástica: We bring both our pup and our cat here. They are kind, comforting and willing to answer questions I feel are "silly". The staff is friendly and easy to get a hold of. Pricing is reasonable. Parking is easy around the back of the building or on the street. When we brought our dog in the first time, he just laid down and chilled. He made quick friends with all of the staff and is excited to go every time!

She gets so excited when we pull in the parking lot and when we get inside she sits in the chairs and she just converses and chairs because she’s so excited to be there if a dog is excited to be at a vet that should tell you enough plus the price is great and just all-around it’s a great place. I recommend them to everybody and I would never go anywhere else with any animal.
Experiencia negativa: I used to love this vet clinic. However, if you want to schedule an appointment you have to wait 2 months. They have way too many clients you might as well put your animal on a conveyor belt! My ferret needs to see her vet and cannot get in. Waiting hours is not an option. And scheduling is months out. Experiencia negativa: Horrible. They didn’t care about my pet at all. Encouraged me to just put him down because of it being a rodent pet and not having for long. We’re irritated by my crying. Be sure to save all your payment receipts/invoices because even with them charging in full before you leave, if you can’t prove you paid them they will harass you then send you to collections.

Experiencia fantástica: Hunter has been like a second family for us this year. They are knowledgeable with Conures, which is difficult to find in a vet who also works with the usual dog and cat pets. We have had to take my dog in several times this year, and a food allergy was discovered to be the problem. Thank goodness that was all! Up until that source of the issue was discovered, he had been throwing up on a weekly basis. Sometimes daily. We always feel safe and welcome with our vet. Experiencia fantástica: We've been taking our animals to Hunter for a few years now. The staff is incredibly caring and gentle with our animals, the pricing for care is reasonable, and they do everything they can to get you and your furry friend in and out as quickly as possible. Recently, our kitty Sly has been having to go fairly regularly as he has had trouble passing his stool and gets backed up. Each time Hunter has helped him clear himself out, clean him up, and send him on his way home with us the same day. He's also been showing some signs of arthritis, and they have him on a new treatment from Europe that has been a night and day difference. We'll continue to take all of our animals to Hunter, as finding a veterinary clinic that cares as much as they do is rare. I highly recommend them.

Dr Schaefer has been taking care of my dog Holly for a couple years now and I have to say she is the best. I love their new facility it's always clean they have a couple different entrances so you don't have to worry if your dog is aggressive or scared. So that's pretty cool.

Hunter Vet got Cookie in ASAP on the same morning I recognized the symptoms; they started raising her low body temperature and treating the stasis immediately with IV fluids, motility drugs and X-rays/ blood sample ..It's difficult for Spokane rabbit owners to find same day emergency care. Saved her life with ultra- cautious prompt action and followup.
Experiencia fantástica: I’m so so grateful for Hunter Vet!! Context: We adopted a kitten from a shelter with a known eye infection. We’ve been giving him eyedrops twice a day, but after a few days, he started itching one of his ears. Didn’t seem lethargic, he was playful, eating and drinking, but I still wanted to get him checked out in case the infection spread and because his eye wasn’t looking better. I had called every vet clinic nearby, clinics letting me know they don’t do same day appointments and one in particular that was extremely rude (left a 1 ⭐️ for them on their clinic - would’ve been 0 if that was a choice). Luckily Hunter called me back and could squeeze him in at the end of the day! They were so kind and eager to help, it was refreshing after no luck and being treated like garbage. The staff was very professional, caring and thorough. We didn’t feel rushed, they handled our kitten gently, and they actually discovered he had a very high fever and reinfected ears from having previously had ear mites! We had no idea, he wasn’t acting lethargic and we weren’t informed of his history with the ear mites, so we were shocked. But all in all, we were very thankful they could get us in same-day so we could get the meds he needs to get feeling better and are grateful to have a vet clinic to go to for our furbabies where we know they care and want to help.
Experiencia fantástica: Because I was a last minute drop in appointment of the day I was ready to have a rushed not great time or price. But my gosh, everyone there was so nice! Took the time to say hi to my pet, make sure everyone was comfortable, actually slowly explained everything to me and didn’t rush or push me into any sort of decision. -which for any vets office is amazing-. The DR was super nice, informative and non judgmental. Also I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg because said last minute appointment but everything was very reasonable priced I was honestly surprised!
Experiencia fantástica: Long wait, but its expected. Unfortunately. 7 hours later and my girl has pain meds and hopefully won't need to be seen again by her vet. I have had to come here three times in my life and each time I have appreciated the staff. Facility is as nice as it can be.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing staff! Got my kitty in right away for an emergency. Can be a little spendy but not anymore than other vets in the area and I feel with the level of service we got it was well worth it! Vet called prior to every procedure and kept my bottom line budget on track. So happy with Hunter's! I highly recommend them!
Experiencia fantástica: I love how they have walk in hours so I was able to see the vet right away. The staff was extremely friendly and they were genuinely interested in my pet. The cost was also much cheaper than I anticipated. They have taken care of my other pets and performed an excellent surgery on my dogs knee. The vet was very attentive and it he gave a home number in case there were complications. We are very happy with there services.
Experiencia fantástica: After spending 6 hours at the emergency vet a few days prior and coming away with no results for my cat's pain, I was able to get her in to see a vet at Hunter's. They easily and quickly, diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes. I think I just found our new vet.
Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend them. We have been bringing our cattle dog, Harvey, here for almost 4 years. When Harvey was diagnosed with arthritis at a young age recently, we were so sad for him and worried about his future quality of life. After a month of treatment, he is back to his old self again! He is absolutely in love with the tech staff and gets so excited to go to the vet because he gets to see his friend. We also had our pup, Roman, neutered here. I was nervous to have him put under but I knew he was getting the best care in town. I appreciate that they have an understanding of realistic financial options and help plan accordingly. Definitely worth the wait if you have to schedule out a little bit. Their day-of clinic bookings are also super convenient. It's like getting concert tickets trying to snag those appointments - just be ready and logged in EXACTLY at 10:00 am.
Experiencia fantástica: Love their new location! Same great vets, staff, and exceptional care. Much more spacious exam rooms and parking is 10 times better than their previous location. My pups will be life long clients, all the docs and staff are really friendly and knowledgeable and where else can you get a same day appt M-F and walk in appts on Saturday! Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about Hunter Vet. I knew something was not right with my dog but my previous vet wasn’t taking it seriously. Drs Mark and Sarah listened to me and helped work through the situation with me. Instead of ordering thousands of dollars of test, we took it one step at a time, all along the way, they talked with me, they listened to me. My 12 year is doing beautifully now because of their care. Also the staff is amazing.
