Experiencia fantástica: We bring both of our animals (cat and dog) to the Garland Animal Clinic. We have had very good experiences at the clinic. From easy check ups, to unfortunately having to put one of our fur babies down, all of the staff have been amazing for all experiences. When asked or brought up, we always talk about how great we think this clinic is. We are so thankful when we moved to Spokane that we found a place for our animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I lost one of my cats to abdominal cancer a few weeks ago, so I was extremely worried when my other cat (his biological sister) suddenly started vomiting excessively. I had never been to Garland Animal Clinic before, but thankfully, they fit us in for an urgent care visit when my regular vet and the emergency vet were both full. Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Sorensen was really compassionate and understanding of my concerns, especially given the recent loss of my other cat. She took the time to clearly explain the diagnostic results and treatment plan. With fluids and medication, my cat is now doing much better! The clinic was quite busy, but I was really impressed with how everything still ran smoothly and efficiently. Overall, I’m very happy with the care we received and will definitely recommend Garland Animal Clinic to others. If it were closer to my home, I would consider switching to them as my primary vet, and they will definitely be my backup option in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to Garland Animal Clinic to put my doggy of 14 years to rest. Our experience was nothing short of great (even though we were putting our old dog down). From the moment we walked in, there was no waiting in the lobby. They quickly escorted us to our room where they had an entire basket of doggy snacks and goodies for our old pup. The staff was incredible, professional and nothing short of understanding. They gave us all the time we needed and were very gentle with my old doggy. This was my first experience of having to put a dog to rest and I will never go anywhere else for any future pets I may have. I wish I could remember the doctors name because she was absolutely amazing, so were both of the vet techs who came to help as soon as we walked in the door for our appointment. Thank you Garland Animal Clinic for being so gentle during such a tender time for both me and my dog.

Experiencia fantástica: Garland Animal Clinic was wonderful to my dog and myself. A couple hours after getting immunizations my pup decided to have some kind of allergic reaction. I called to see what I needed to do and they asked me to bring him in ASAP keep in mind this was 2 minutes before closing time. They got him in got him some Benadryl and pain meds and assured me he would be fine and what to do if he got worse. Their commitment to ensureing your pets are treated like family and taken care of is amazing. I wouldn't bring my dog anywhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Taylor and her staff are excellent. They get to know your pets and provide excellent care. They have cared for my large golden retriever and two cats. Both my kitties were rescued from the wilds of north Idaho with multiple infections. Dr. Taylor got them both healthy and thriving in a short few weeks. I highly recommend the clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: Been with this clinic for 8 years or so. Couldn’t be happier with any other clinic. The staff and the best Vets especially Dr. Sorenson. Are absolutely amazing and the atmosphere in the clinic is always great, and most importantly it’s always clean there. Just had my dog for surgical procedure, the team was very great and friendly. Price wise - very affordable compared to other places.

Experiencia negativa: We have trusted Garland Animal Clinic with our pets for years. Between my mom and me, eight of our animals have received care here — and we’ve had significant issues with at least half of them. I would love to say my experience was a one-off, but unfortunately, it has been a repeated pattern. The clinic is expensive, which I was willing to accept because I believed I was paying for quality care. Instead, I repeatedly paid for tests and often never received results unless I followed up multiple times. I sent emails with questions that went unanswered and constantly felt like I was chasing down information I had already paid for. This happened on more than one occasion. On top of that, I’ve been double charged and had prescriptions dosed incorrectly using outdated weights — a serious issue for a giant breed puppy whose weight changes rapidly. After two unsuccessful treatments for Giardia (one improperly dosed), I ultimately had to seek care elsewhere to resolve it. That should not happen when you are paying premium prices for veterinary care. Dr. Jo Cobb was wonderful — transparent, honest, and thoughtful about options — but since her departure, the quality and communication have declined significantly. This is not about one bad day or one miscommunication. It has been a pattern. You are paying for care that sounds confident and thorough, but too often lacks follow-through, accountability, and clear communication. I would strongly recommend finding a clinic that truly delivers the quality you’re paying for.

Experiencia fantástica: My pup needed immediate attention, and Garland Animal Clinic worked us in! Dr. Sorensen was very kind and explained everything to me in a manner in which I could understand. I'll definitely be making this my primary clinic!!!

Experiencia positiva: Typically I have very good experiences with the Garland Animal Clinic. However, today I did a drop off appointment and dropped off my pet at 8am- I received a call at 3pm saying my pet was good to go and ready for pickup at 3:30. I arrived at 3:30 and got squared away with the reception to the point where all my pet needed was to be brought out to me. I sat in the lobby for an hour and a half watching as many people came to also pick up their pets and leave, as well as come in, be seen, and also leave. All the while I was clearly visible to staff yet got no update. If I had not asked if there was something wrong as to why my pet hadn’t been brought up I truly believe I would be there until they closed. When my pet was brought out I didn’t receive a sorry for the wait, an explanation, or truly any communication. I am a patient person but it saddens me to think that my pet likely did not use the bathroom for 9+ hours, or receive food or water, and was in a kennel listening to other dogs bark and whine. I will not be doing a drop off appointment again.

Experiencia negativa: I've been going to Garland for over 4 years. I have had 4 dogs come to this vet clinic. One of my dogs was very medically complex and was given good care here. When we first started going to this clinic, it was very easy to get a hold of a person and talk to them for scheduling or records. It has become almost impossible to reach anyone on the phone. Every time I have called in the last 5 months, I have been unable to talk to reception to schedule an appointment. I have had to email or text. The structure of taking the dogs alone to the backroom alone is also not something my dogs have ever been super comfortable with. I have had to advocate strongly to be able to stay in the same room with my stranger adverse and dog reactive dog. I think the veterinarians are doing good work here overall but it seems like the corporate structure that this clinic has adopted has made a negative difference in the care my animals have received recently.

Experiencia fantástica: I switched over to Garland Animal Hospital because I needed a Saturday appointment and one of my friends said he was happy taking his pets here. The staff at this clinic was so compassionate and listened to all of my concerns without seeming rushed or like I was inconveniencing them with my laundry list of items. Both of the vets I saw handled my cat with great care (minimal restraint) and had treats in the room to make the visit less scary. I called in multiple times and spoke with Patrick, who was always so helpful when I had questions, needed meds refilled, or needed to make an appointment. When I had to book a euthanasia appointment for my cat, Patrick was incredibly kind and understanding. I can’t say enough good things about this clinic. You can tell the staff here cares a great deal about their patients AND their families. I had a great experience and would recommend it to any one of my friends or family members.

Experiencia fantástica: They keep some appointments for urgent needs. My cat had an abscess on his neck and needed care right away. They got him in, drained the abscess, gave him long lasting antibiotics and painkillers plus painkillers to take home for three days. He is back to his normal self and the abscess is healing nicely.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Boharski is awesome. He's patient, takes the time to explain important details and is very honest about what he thinks is best or necessary for your pet. We always feel like he values his clients and makes sure our questions and concerns are answered each visit. We greatly appreciate his kindness and knowledge.

Experiencia positiva: It’s been a hit or a miss with this clinic. I wouldn’t recommend for anxious dogs though. It’s relatively easy to get scheduled, but their priority is not making dogs feel at ease. We transferred our two dogs to this vet since it was closer. We had previously taken them to Lincoln heights clinic and our anxious pup was fine there. Took his vaccinations just fine. Here, it always feels very hectic. And my anxious dog is, extremely anxious here. We have also had just general issues - staff coming to the room thinking my dog was another scheduled dog. Telling us to come in between 7-7:30 for drop off, but then getting told we have to wait until 7:45 for the vet to get there. Vet techs and vets are friendly, rooms seem clean, but I honestly think it’s worth the extra drive for the other vet.

My cat Riley has had all her veterinary care here minus emergency vet visits. I think Dr. Himmel is the best provider I’ve had! Cat tax has been added below!

Experiencia fantástica: Our family member and good boy recently had a health emergency that necessitated us using their medical expertise to get him back to health. I was nervous about such a surgery going in, but afterwards feel like we were fortunate to have had such excellent care taken of our boy. They did a wonderful job and were so good at making us and our old pup feel confident with the procedures and cared for by able individuals. The staff here is amazing across the board. Met at least 10 employees during our visits this week and thought each one was awesome.

Experiencia fantástica: They have helped us care for our dogs, and rabbit. They have help with both routine and urgent issues. It's a large, busy practice, but they provide many options both modern and traditional.

Experiencia negativa: The service was not great at all. I took my dog in for a ripped nail they took her back for 40 minutes just to look at it and write an estimate. I had to ask why it was taking so long. Just to be estimated an overpriced cost I would not recommend taking your animal here.

And made it a very pleasant experience for her. Garland has done nothing but treat all of my animals with the best care. I highly recommend them

I had an appointment and didn’t have to wait more than 5 minutes. Their prices are comparable. I’ve used Garland many times over the past 9 years and they’ve been great every time.

My dog was diagnosed and treated, and is improved significantly. I was really impressed and would recommend them without reservation.

Experiencia negativa: Well they took out most of my digs teeth and took his nuts too that cost Almost 3 grand then my dog got sick they charged me another 600 less than a month later and they can't figure out what is wrong with my baby. I'm not so sure they did not cause what's going on now since it's so close to their surgery on him. I think they just want money like most vets they act like they care but when it comes to payment that the most important thing to them. I don't know about any of y'all but I'd like to find a vet that was more about the animals than the money. Oh I know it takes money to run a vet office I'm sure alot and we have to pay for all that schooling I get it but at least if your going to charge great prices then be great at what you do.

Even when they are really busy and have a full waiting room, they are great about getting you through the line as smoothly as possible and are always very kind. Overall I just feel like my fur babies get the best quality care here. I'll never go to another animal clinic.

Experiencia negativa: I tried to call to talk about my bird having issues. I wanted to talk to a doctor to see if I can get a diagnosis over the phone Because I don’t have a lot of money. They don’t have a credit program or a pay monthly thing which isn’t their fault But both times that I called they have hung up on me abruptly. Very rude. Very heartbreaking. They seem not to care about your animals if you can’t pay your bill in full.

While this is likely a life ending diagnosis, Dr Himmel helped me by coming up with a plan that can help us determine how much longer she can continue to live a good life. I want to say how much I appreciate not only Dr Himmel and the veterinary technician that helped me but also the other staff. We have worked with Dr Taylor and Dr Kitteridge as well as many technicians and the counter staff. All have been very kind and helpful

Experiencia negativa: Everyone at Garland Animal Clinic are professional and nice. However, the wait times for appointments are unacceptable. I waited 40 minutes last time to be seen. I was disappointed when my last two visits ended in me and my dog coming home with no solution to his ear issue. The veterinarian kept saying his ears are fine and I said they were not. As it has turned out his ears were not fine. This led to my dog suffering with ear yeast for four months and losing weight. And my wallet, lighter. I’ve switched back to the Animal Clinic of Spokane and what a difference. We were seen at the scheduled time, and now after four days of treatment, my dog has finally stopped shaking his head and is behaving like a healthy dog again.

Gave us worse case scenarios, both emotionally and financially, privately and phone follow up. Great care for many cats and small dogs. Sitting in the waiting room and watching guests and pets interact is even better than airport people watching! And puppies! :) They do require rabies shots to be up to date (or do it themselves) to be seen in their clinic, fyi.

Experiencia fantástica: On October 25, 2025 I took my cat to a followup appointment because her health was not improving. After the exam, Dr. Cobb gave me disheartening news. She discussed all the treatment options and ultimately, I had to decide to let Lillie go. My heart was breaking. Dr. Cobb and Patrick treated me with the utmost empathy. They helped me cope with the guilt I was feeling and to believe my decision was loving and humane. They assured me that Lillie would not be alone right up until the moment of her passing. In sum, the care Lillie and I got was technically excellent but as important, it was emotionally excellent as well. Thank you and bless you.

They also upon scheduling my appointment took it upon themselves to get out pets records from our prior vet so they had the full medical history, so also seemed very thorough.

Experiencia fantástica: This is my regular vet my dogs go to for checkups and recently a neutering. They do excellent work and are very kind to my dogs and I. Friendly and professional and I appreciate that the staff are very inclusive and spanning a range of demographics. Price-wise they are very reasonable, the neutering included an EKG and laser therapy which helped ensure the process would be safe and heal quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Experiencia positiva: The vet was personable (Dr. K) and the clinic seemed very clean. I didn't much care for them taking my cat away from me when they took blood and gave him a vaccine. I'm guessing some people don't want to see that type of thing? I was shocked at the price though. I picked the senior package ($243) which came with labs. There was an additional fee for an annual exam (which seemed redundant) and a required rabies shot. The total was more than $100 more than I anticipated. My advice would be to ask for the price of everything they want to do if you're on a budget.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to bring your pet. My dog had diarrhea in the morning (not even a year old) and vomited suddenly as well. That scared the heck out of me and the clinic was able to fit me in even though everything was pretty packed. They did some testing and for everything else, they let me know what options I have, what it costs - so no bad surprises if you say yes to anything. And even the second time I came with my dog, he was not afraid of the clinic and fairly enjoyed it being there. Can only recommend.

I have received subpar care for my animals at other locations. Garland goes above and beyond my expectations.

Experiencia positiva: It seems that the care here is going by the way side. Longer wait times are a constant even with showing up early as they ask. Seeing a different vet every time that doesn’t know the whole story doesn’t seem to work all that well. Used to be great but it seems they are more in it for the amount of people they can get through the doors now than actual time spent with an animal and its owners.

Experiencia negativa: My cat hasn't ate for two days and has a difficult case with a wsu cardiologist helping. We were told we need two meds to help him in this hard time. The guy on the phone said he would send it to the pharmacy today (saturday). He did not. My cat in a bad situation will now have to wait minimum 2 days to get the help he needs. Being busy is understandable. Being forgetful/lying while I have a semi urgent situation is really crap. Don't appreciate this type of care.

Experiencia fantástica: It was time for my dog's annual checkup. The vet said I was doing great with my dog's health wise and weight wise. They gave him his annual immunizations quickly

Experiencia fantástica: I made a scheduling error. The Clinic staff members were kind & gracious, quickly working me in to their schedule. My dog was treated with love and patience (she gets resistant). I appreciated the Vet and associated personnel so much. They were superb!

Experiencia fantástica: I only recent adopted a dog so I haven't been going here for very long, but I chose this clinic because of my experience with them before adopting. I'd previously worked as a pharmacy technician at a compounding pharmacy where we made meds for humans and their furry companions. Garland Animal Clinic was much more prompt in responding to information requests and clarifications than other local veterinary clinics, and the staff was generally pleasant. They were highly spoken of by their clients, too. My experience with them after adopting has been pretty spot on to what I expected from those interactions. Very pleasant staff, fairly easy to communicate with, and the cost is reasonable in my opinion (compared to vet costs the last time I had a dog). Plus, my very timid dog seems to like Dr. Sussman.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat Joel became very sick suddenly. Garland saw him right away and Dr. Taylor and crew were wonderful during his immediate care and follow up.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely will not be back! My dog got into the garage and was puking for 24hrs and very lethargic, so I called EVERYWHERE except the ER to try and get her in today. They said they had an opening at 12:30pm today (I called at 8:45am) so we took it. My husband brought her in because I was at work. He showed up on time, was taken to a room and asked a few questions and she left to get the Dr. 30 MINUTES LATER!!! She comes back and says the doctor went into surgery, and we have to come back later Are you kidding me?? We booked an EMERGENCY same day appointment for a reason, I was very scared that my dog could have gotten into something toxic, and we were brushed off like we didn't matter. Just because my dog didn't necessarily need surgery to give them more money, doesn't mean you get to just send us away. I'm extremely upset that we were sent away when my dog possibly ate something toxic. Absolutely will not be back and will tell everyone I know not to come here.

Experiencia positiva: I do really like all the providers here. The clinic is very, very busy. Often it's hard to reach a person - the phone line is difficult. We're going to continue going there. Appreciate the kind staff.

Experiencia fantástica: Garland has been our go to vet for 3 dogs and 13+ years. The staff is friendly, very accommodating to our anxiety ridden girl and always kind to us. I appreciate their ability to be flexible, working with my time off and my dog's anxiety.

Experiencia negativa: I had been taking my aunts and my dog here for years. I only had her see 2 doctors as I had bad experiences in the past but truly trusted Dr Ascaso and Dr Taylor. My poor baby suffered from a heart conditions and pancreatitis. I had booked an appointment for care for her that when we got there was for Tuesday. Nobody was able to see her and I was told to take her to the emergency in the valley instead of the closest one because they felt they aren't good. I did take her there though and they looked at her and immediately knew she was in crisis. It took them less than 5 minutes to tell she was in complete heart and lung failure and helped her leave this world in peace. I would have thought after so many years loyal to this clinic they could have spared 5 minutes to check on her and help put her down without her needing to suffer any longer.
