Experiencia negativa: I do not recommend this clinic! I brought my dog in yesterday to get his vaccines and nails trimmed, and when the nurse brought him back in the room his was shaking and bleeding from his paws. They clipped two of his quicks so far back he barely had any nail left. While all this was happening I heard a different guy yelling at my dog and then laughing. Keep your pets safe do not bring them to El Centro pet Medical Center! I’m devastated!

The entire staff is always super friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. When Maple had her spay surgery, they took the time to clearly explain what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, which really helped put my mind at ease. The surgery went smoothly, and Maple is recovering amazingly well. she's a happy camper and acting like nothing ever happened! It's obvious they truly care about the animals and their owners. I highly recommend El Centro Vet Clinic to anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable veterinary care. Experiencia negativa: I strongly advise against bringing your pet here in a serious or emergency situation. I brought my pet in after he broke both of his front legs. I understood from the beginning that this was a complicated injury and would require careful, ongoing treatment. For over three months, we attended every scheduled appointment and paid hundreds of dollars, yet most visits resulted in little to no actual care. At times, his legs were not even rewrapped—we were essentially brought in, reassured that “everything looked good,” and still charged over $100 per visit. Dr. Ryan Dougherty kept my pet in casts that ultimately caused wounds to develop all over his legs. Despite these injuries being a direct result of the casting and lack of proper maintenance, we were still expected to pay for treatment. We were never informed that the casts should have been changed every 5–7 days. Instead, my pet often went two weeks or longer with the same wraps, while being told his progress was fine. After finally seeking a second opinion, we were informed that the prolonged use of the same casts and lack of proper intervention caused irreversible damage. At that point, it was too late to correct his legs, and I was forced to make the devastating decision to put my pet down. I trusted Dr. Ryan Dougherty with my pet’s life, and that trust was misplaced. The lack of transparency, inadequate care, and repeated charges for ineffective or nonexistent treatment resulted in emotional and financial devastation. I do not recommend this clinic. Please consider choosing a different veterinarian for your pet’s care.

I have been going to this vet clinic for over 20 years with both our dogs and cats and have always been satisfied with the care we have received. Thru the years there have been different vets but we have liked them all. We really like Doctor Ryan and welcome him to Texas. Experiencia fantástica: The minute I called today I received an outstanding service over the phone. I was so scared my dog had heartworms. Miss Kalyn or Kathryn gave me a good feeling and a professional answer and an appointment for today. That was the beginning of a never ending great service or better Emotional support I got from each person who works at El Centro. I was treated like a scared dog, I got calmer by the minute and Dr. DAVIS , Miss Tabetha took all the time as if I was the only patient. Each person I spoke to was kind and had a smile for me. My dog had no heartworms but Dr. Davis told me what issues my dog had. I can handle everything but Heartworms. In any other clinic I would have paid several hundred dollars ( I had called some ) Here I had an invoice a little over hundred. First visit, heartworm test, intensive check up and diagnose. Earinfection, broken tooth and arthritis. My dog is 12 years old. Except for the broken tooth I knew about it. But it shows how much time Dr. Davis took for the check up. I moved to Killeen 6 month ago and I'm happy I found this clinic. To top my experience today, after I paid and left with my dog and a normal blood pressure I stopped at the grocery store. My phone was ringing and it was the clinic I just came from. Miss Tammi had found a Dollar bill on the floor where I paid. They checked the cameras and saw that it felt out my wallet when I paid. So honest to call me. I would not know where I lost it. I cried in the middle of Aldi but tears of joy and I thought There is Hope in this world. I am thankful for this day which started with tears of fear losing my dog and ended with tears of joy and appreciation. Thank you Team El Centro

The vet techs and receptionists are very sweet and helpful. They don't sugar coat things but they are not rude. Its nice to have a vet who is honest with you. Highly recommend!

Although I wanted to schedule an appointment, they recommended the walk in service for quicker attention for my girl. They gave amazing recommendations and treated her like family. Experiencia fantástica: My dog was having seizures, we took him to the ER but he continued to have them. I called El Centro right when they opened. The woman who was at the front told me bring him right away. Dr Davis and the tech (didn’t get her name) was AMAZING. Dr Davis listened to my concerns, and instead of jumping right on meds for epilepsy she controlled his high temp and gave me meds just Incase he did have epilepsy. Within hours I saw a huge change in him. By the next day he was eating and temp is gone. I am so thankful to them. They are a blessing. Thank you for taking such great care of my fur baby.

Experiencia fantástica: The Hiller pack, when our vet closed up shop they moved us to El Centro. At first I was nervous since one of my mighty beasts don't like many people. Pat Davis looked at my oldest pup and ignored all is bluffing and was able to exam and treat him as if he was this tiny ankle bitter not the 150lbs Great Dane. I have alot of puppies and kitties and I would take them anywhere else. Everyone there at El Centro are tops in my book.

Experiencia positiva: My dog was hurt and bleeding a lot, called the clinic and was told bring it in but upon arrival I had to wait an hour before the Vet saw my dog. However, once he saw it, I got an estimate, and everything went smooth.

They refused to let me even discuss care until they had a credit card, After making me wait outside in the heat for over 2 hours with 2 puppies suffering from parvo with thier pregnant mama. Even as I'm soldering my suffering dog begging them please I just need help to save her she was suffering from heat stroke in my arms he was refusing too anything as others had walked in and were seen no problem I only needed a saline water pouch to keep them hydrated at home why they. Faught the sickness. $240 I was given one pouch and 3 syringes of nausea medicine. I went in hoping to get a refill on the saline because 4 dogs one bag only lasted the night and was told I had to make another appointment and pay all that again.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful staff and Dr. Joyner is amazing! Our cat spent the night at the animal emergency center on Illinois Ave and in the morning I took him directly to El Centro. Dr. Joyner had treated him for a similar problem in July but it was apparent this was much more serious. After exploratory surgery Dr. Joyner found and removed a fatty tumor that was causing the problems. He and the staff were very caring and took the time to explain everything to us and how to administer his medication. The price was less than the estimate and was terrific. I would recommend and have recommended El Centro to my friends and family. Great place!!

Had a good visit with one of my dogs that does not take to strangers, especially men ... so that part would not be good anywhere. Experiencia negativa: First and last experience with a exotic veterinarian. Went twice to him within a month with my sulcata tortoise and both times given a bs answer. My tortoise was diagnosed with vitamin a deficiency. Even I knew it was bs. That's impossible. I told him it was something more but 200 bucks for that answer and he sent me on my way and now I say good bye to my 12 year old tortoise that should have out lived me. I'm very upset. I knew I shouldn't have trusted a small town exotic vet. My family heirloom is not gone. All my fault for trusting this place

Experiencia fantástica: My dog had a spay surgery 4days ago. We had an extra laser treatment for quick recovery and it worked well. She was able to use stairs from yesterday and can make a small jump today. The photo was taken today(4days after surgery). The elizabeth collar that they provided from El Centro was a bit inconvenient to put on my dog, and my dog hated it. (I had to slide it over her head instead of securing it with buttons or velcro) Eventually, I had to buy a new collar. Except for the elizabeth collar, everything else was satisfactory.

Experiencia fantástica: Very great experience. Brought my 3 year old rabbit in and will be bring him for more teeth trimming as he needs. Staff was very kind and educated! My rabbit is back to eating his regular diet now!

Could not figure out my pets sex so now he's a he when another said girl. I was given a new appointment for my pets second set of shots. I feel I won't go back, tags were not given as well for my pet. Or certificate for my pet like his dob, age, etc

Experiencia positiva: I'm putting down 4 stars because every time I call, no one picks up then I get a text. I reply to the text but no answer. I have had my pets taken care of there, Jackie is amazing and she took good care of my pup when she had to be there overnight.

Experiencia positiva: First I would like to say that the office staff is wonderful. Caring and compassionate. I’ve been taking my birds to get there nails trimmed for awhile and I must say dr davis was outstanding with my little spinner and my screamer. I would make appts. to see her about every 2 to 3 months. I was told that dr Joyner had avian experience but while I was there it seemed he had a problem with the dremal and clipping the nails. When I got home I noticed that 3 of his nails had not been cut and the others were iffy. Called the office and was told that Joyner didn’t want to cut those. Needless to say I wasn’t offered another appt to take care of his nails or any kind of discount on his next visit. I will miss the office staff but will be going elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: There was a chance in veterinarians but that has not affected the high level of care my animals receive. I have been brining my animals here since 2012. Love the staff even if my new little one thinks of them as stanher danger and barks.

Experiencia positiva: I have been taking my dog here for years. Great service when I go however, with the company making last appointments at 4:30pm and facility closes at 5:30pm is where I incurred the problem. They don't open on Saturdays and Closed on Mondays. Kinda hard to get an appt just to get my dog nails clipped. That would take less than 10 mins at the end of the day. I'm with there pet insurance program that you can never speak to anyone its all email. Just didn't want to up and find a new vet when we have been going for years. I recommend more flexibility.

Experiencia negativa: Never had a problem either El Centro but now I wanna change vets. My cats r my children...I'm on week 5 of calling to get my cat who is a regular pet there an appointment because he hurt his foot...every week, they make room for walk ins but cant contact me back to make sure my cat is one of those walk ins and appointments are months away. Meanwhile his foot is getting worst and the thrive insurance I have only works at El Centro. Just called again....and no open appointments...no one to see him....this is ridiculous...I'm so upset, cause I know his foot is getting worst.

They really care about what they do. In April I had to put my dog to sleep because of kidney disease. They were there with me for the whole thing and cried right there with me.

Experiencia negativa: Update: El Centro did reach out to me in an effort to correct their original mistakes. We did get in for a surgery consult with Dr. Davis, who is just a lovely person and experienced veterinarian. She was excellent with my cat. We scheduled surgery and was able to remove the mass inside of his ear. We are happy with his care in this situation and I appreciated the office's willingness to try and make things right. I wanted to make sure that was publicly acknowledged. We were referred to Dr Davis by our veterinarian who does house calls. She diagnosed our cat with an ear canal mass and not every office will have the necessary equipment to do a surgery like this. On Friday at 2pm we were told Dr Davis is semi retired and no longer seeing new patients. We agreed to see Dr Black instead. We were told a 5pm consult was available Monday. Took the appointment as this is a time sensitive issue. Called back today around 4pm to confirm before loading our cat in the carrier. NO appointment. NOT in the system at all. No real apology. No attempt to fix the error because now they are suddenly booking into August. Apparently moving forward the clinic is only open Tuesday through Friday. Ive worked in and around the veterinarian industry since 2006 and this is completely unacceptable. An appointment is the most basic step. Front desk always reflects on the entire facility. Red flags everywhere.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid this place at all costs. I say that because we brought 3 kittens for fecal exams to test for internal parasites cause of too big of tummies. The vet was NOT careful at all, used the bigger size instrument for them then proceeded to JAM and yes i do mean JAM it up one of our kittens rear, who in turn bit me (i was helping hold) and screamed in pain. 2 days later we are at a different vet cause he went downhill so fast since then. He cries in pain and bites when you touch his tummy. I will never return to El Centro again because we are sitting here with a kitten that we may not come home with. Update: We called to get our xrays emailed to a different vet (different cat) for a second opinion and they don't have the xrays anymore. Isn't it a law to keep medical records of patients for up to 5 years in accordance to state law? You are ASKING to get sued.

Experiencia fantástica: I have used several different veterinarians in the area. The change was not from bad service. I just couldn’t get an appointment in the time that I needed it, so I found another office that could accommodate my needs. El Centro is a great office. Most of the staff are animal owners. I recently took my dog in to get shots to prepare to have her boarded. The tech came in to do the initial screening and determined that my dog didn’t need shots. I still had a well visit done just to make sure that my dog was doing well. They looked out for me and didn’t try to give my dog shots that she didn’t need. This office is now my primary veterinarian office. They also have an after hours number to call if your pet is not doing well after regular business hours.

Every thing is good now..its healed and he's back to his normal self. El Centro is still the place to go.. friendly and knowledgeable!!

Experiencia negativa: I have been taking my dog here since he was a month old in 2009. He is now 13. At one point, this place was always packed. Hard to even get a parking space. I see why that’s no longer case. Don’t bother coming here as a walk-in despite their website saying they talk walk-ins. We’ve brought my dog Max as a walk-in before. I understand having to wait as appointments have priority but this is a medical facility. You can’t predict and plan an appointment before someone gets sick. My dog started acting a bit strange Sunday so I brought him to El Centro Monday morning. The lady at the front desk did not care about my dog or what was wrong with him. No compassion whatsoever. Didn’t even ask why we were there. Just told me I could come back at 1:45 as a walk-in and then still expect to wait 4-6 HOURS??? So basically sit there till they close and HOPE they can see us. That doesn’t even make sense. Not to mention there was 1 person waiting in the lobby, they weren’t even busy. She didn’t even try to recommend another place to go. Done with El Centro, their bank hours, and apathetic employees. Must be nice to have a 90 minute lunch everyday. This place is a joke.

Experiencia fantástica: The people and staff here are amazing. I had to rush my fur baby smiley in and this was during there lunch because he was tragically hit by a car and they did everything possible to help him, unfortunately he passed away a few minutes later. But Thank you from.the bottom of my heart for everything

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Patricia Davis and her staff at El Centro are the BEST! She has been our vet since we moved here 15 years ago. Recently we had to put to rest our wonderful loving Australian Shepard Bailey. It was the first time we had ever made that decision and it was not easy for us. Bailey was 13 - 14 years old as we got her from one of the local city dog pounds and her last few years were good by at times tough. But Pat and her staff walked us thru the last few years with Bailey, but on the last day she and her staff were there to help us, guide us and be with us in making that tough decision. I would recommend the staff at El Centro to everyone. Thank you Pat for you sincere concern for our pets and community.

Experiencia fantástica: Such a great experience. I took my new dog to El Centro Pet Medical Center for the first time this week and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They answered all my questions. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I highly recommend you take any of your furry pals here.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve have brought in my pet here to this vet and they made her disabled and now she cannot walk anymore. Dr. david was the one that checked out my pet and when I first brought my babies in to the vet they took her to the back and said that she needs to get checked out to see if she’s in good health. Dr. David came back from the back with my pet and claimed that she had an injury on her tail and that she would need to get surgery the next day for her injury which she never had bringing her in to be seen. when I came to get her more antibiotics and pain meds so the infection doesn’t get worse for urine scald. She was last seen 4 days prior to her actual vet in TN and she was walking perfectly fine apart that she needed pain meds and antibiotics for her urine scald that she developed. Magically Dr.Davis said that she had an injury on her tail which doesn’t make sense because she had no injuries coming in to get seen. I was told by the front desk receptionist that I talked to which I’m not going to say her name here had told me that Dr. Davis is not going to be available until a week later due to her training on becoming a doctor and that she is not a qualified doctor nor is certified as to being a doctor from what the front desk receptionist told me. Even the front receptionist told me that I shouldn’t come here at all if you want your babies injured once they have been seen by Dr. davis after a week of having Dr. Davis seeing your babies. I advise you guys to please be careful before going there unless you want your babies to have problems in the future due to Dr. Davis negligent and false title as being a doctor.

Experiencia fantástica: They’ve been taking care of all 5 of my animals for years. I love the vets here including the clerks up front for always being so lively, genuine and patient. Watched a poor lady come in with a random birthing stray and they did their best to accommodate even though they were about to close for the night. Any vet can get pricey to make sure to ask about their clinic insurance thing I forgot the name but it’s about $15-20 a month and it give unlimited visits and nail trims as well as medication discounts

Experiencia fantástica: Very professional and extremely clean. Made me feel comfortable from the receptionist to the technician. Took real good care of my English Bulldog Rocky. I’m always concerned when someone new looks over Rocky. He’s only been to one Veterinarian since his 1st check up. I feel very confident bringing Rocky back there for his next visit. Experiencia fantástica: Let me start by saying, I haven't had my pet seen here yet. I called in to see if they had a board-certified cardiologist who could perform echocardiograms. Unfortunately, I had to leave a message but they were very quick to get back to me and they text you if they miss your call and they responded very quickly answering all my questions and providing me with great information. I sincerely appreciate the time and assistance they gave me.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Chewy was diagnosed with Lymphoma and Dr. Black and his staff took excellent care of my baby. He finally lost his battle with this horrible disease, but they did everything they could to make his final days comfortable.

Experiencia negativa: I had four barn cats fixed at once they asked if I wanted the cats ears notched which I said yes. Well big mistake two of the cats look ok but one of the cats is missing about half of its ear. I am absolutely horrified. Truly a chop shop. Please don’t let them mutilate your pets too.

Experiencia negativa: We loved El Centro for our cats, as they have been there more than a few times now, but this last time we went in for an appointment we were waiting for over 30 minutes past our appointment time. This would typically be fine but I specifically asked at check in if they were running behind and was told only a little bit but that they were making up for time quickly. After waiting 30 minutes past our scheduled appointment time in our vehicle with stressed animals, I went it to see if we would be seen soon and was told it would be another 30 minutes if not longer! Bummed that this is the service we received here after being customers for years.

Experiencia fantástica: They were quite busy. I believe I'm saying her name right but a Dr Quan treated my MeMe. She was excellent went through all the procedures with me and the cost. Her assistant was amazing,and experienced with felines. My friend referred me to this vet office. My animal had already been treated by a different vet stagecoach vet and all they tried to do was price gouge me. They were trying to get me to remove all my cat's teeth which was not needed. I was concerned for my pet and wanted the best care. I was able to find that at this vet clinic. This is my vet office moving forward. If you want quality, good prices, the best care for your pet, experienced veterinarians and staff this is the place to be go. Look no further. MeMe is responding well to treat me and giving me a run for my money. I I'm grateful and relieved.

Experiencia positiva: as far as I’m concerned this is the best vet hospital in the town of Killeen. Even though I had something awful happen to my sweet macaw due to an accident. Dr. Davis is one of the best DVM I know because she actually cares about her patients and their family. She helped me get my macaw back to her normal self. I’m not completely ecstatic about my experience there, but know Dr. Davis cars the way she does is more important to me then everything else and I will continue to go here for many years to come. Thanks for all you do Dr.Davis.

Experiencia fantástica: I am very picky I have 3 Great Danes who are my babies. Dr. Pat Davis and staff give each one of them the best care. They answer all of my questions. My boy had to have surgery on his foot and they have eased my mind it takes a lot for me to trust someone with my giants since one of them has been abused. Everyone who works there is a class act and I am so thankful for them.

Experiencia fantástica: We went to this clinic since 2015 until August 2022. We switched clinics for location reasons. The service and friendless from the staff and the veterinarians was very good. The availability to make appointments online was helpful. The location in Killeen is very easy to find. Overall, we had a good and long run at this clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: Took our hamster for an emergency amputation and had the hamster in surgery on 30 minutes notice. She’s recovering really well and overall it was much better priced than what they were quoting at other vets. The whole team is quick to respond and understanding.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Fuentes is amazing. She really took the time to check up on Taz after his appt. His fever was at 104.3 from an ear infection. He was very sick and through the weekend she called and checked on his progress even on her own time with her family event. I truly appreciated that more than anything, she reminded me of an old vet I used years ago in C.C. Thank you Dr. Fuentes!!!! You're very compassionate!!! The first picture is Taz laying on my leg very sick and sleeping mainly and the 2nd is his normal flexing his man muscles, hahahaha.

Experiencia negativa: My dog miracle has hip dysplasia in both hips really bad. They told us she needed hip surgery so we agreed for them to do an FHO on her right hip. After the surgery, that they said was a success, they said it'd take about 3 months for her to heal. Well after 3 months of her still being in pain and not walking on that leg at all we decided to get a second opinion. Well let's just say that we will never be using el Centro again. They didn't do the surgery correctly and now I have to pay $2,000 to have the surgery redone correctly. So not only did they not fix my dog, they robbed me of $2,500.
