Experiencia fantástica: The level of kindness shown by the employees of Eastern was unlike anywhere else I've ever been. 100% in every area. An employee named Shawna went above and beyond for me when I had to bring my cat in for an urgent sick visit. Shawna helped ease my nerves by reassuring me that I didn't need to rush around ( I came in towards closing time) She helped me fill out important paperwork that I was struggling with. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate employees like Shawna who make all the difference in which hospital I will choose. The rest of the staff also worked very hard to help me. ( Danielle, the doctor too) They eased my worries during a scary time. When an animal u love is sick and money is scarce it can be very emotional. The staff were so understanding and spent a lot of time providing me with the resources to get assistance with the bill. I also feel that the level of medical care is the highest gold standard. The best in the field of veterinary care is Eastern Animal. Yes, some of their prices may cost more than other places HOWEVER the quality of care that u get at Eastern is so much better than other places that in my opinion it's worth it. I've been to the lower priced clinics and the care isn't as good so u end up paying more in the long run. AND besides all that , Eastern will worked with my budget. They showed me the specific resources out there and I was able to make payment arrangements. I would not have been able to do this somewhere else because most of other places were not willing to actually take their time right than n there to help me. I so appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. Experiencia fantástica: The staff is fantastic! I have been here with other pets and with my latest rescue, they have been quite welcoming. No question asked to the Vet is considered "dumb" and they make sure all subjects are understood. My dog is a bit high-strung around other dogs and they offer an entrance away from all other pets. The appointment making experience is super easy either on the phone or going through the website. They partner with an app as well which is easy to use and they respond quickly. The facility is super clean too.

Experiencia negativa: don’t expect to get any help for your pet here. they basically charge you $1000 to do absolutely nothing and send you home with a dying pet. do not recommend
Experiencia fantástica: I just wanted to take a moment to thank Dr. Wensil-Strow and team for the compassion and care you showed us with Ghost on Friday. Even though it was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make, you helped us feel supported and informed every step of the way. We are heartbroken, but we’re so grateful that Ghost was surrounded by kindness and dignity in his final moments. Thank you for treating him not just as a patient, but as the beloved member of our family that he was. We truly appreciate everything you did for our sweet boy.

Experiencia fantástica: My Chihuahua Moxie received outstanding care from Dr. PARRISH, and our Technicians Lexi and Sarah! They explained everything during our visit, and made our visit a very positive one. Moxie had an urgent care visit today that required IV fluids, and medications. The staff at Eastern Animal Hospital really went above and beyond extending wonderful care and customer service.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my puppy, Rosie, in for an urgent care visit as her quick was accidentally snipped. Eastern Animal Hospital and its compassionate staff took immediate care of Rosie while also comforting and reassuring me. They were also upfront about potential costs while doing everything possible to keep costs low. I felt considered on every level--from the care provided to Rosie to the cost transparency to the reassurance as a pet owner. I will absolutely recommend Eastern Animal Hospital to anyone seeking urgent or primary care services for their pet family members.
Experiencia negativa: Took my dog in for limping, and while that could be caused by many things, I got not a single answer was only in there maybe 30 total minutes and was charged an $150 exam fee for them to look at my dog for 5 minutes and tell me they “think” his elbow is swollen but really have no clue and that I need X-rays, well I understood that but not when the X-rays would have costed me over $1600… just to MAYBE tell me what’s wrong? Welp, $150 later I have nothing and still have to take him elsewhere and hope they can figure something out. Insane pricing.
Experiencia fantástica: I've heard a lot of people say this is an expensive vet, but truthfully, whats $20-40 more for quality service? I have been taking my dog to this vet since 2023. We've received honest feedback on treatments, tests, and procedures with their level of priority. All the doctors are incredible and the technicians just like ~get it~. Look, a lot of us didn't know the cost of having a pet, but they make these illnesses we discover in our pets something that is approachable and manageable with no judgement. When there are good characters at a vet clinic, the better you feel about your pet's future. They very accessible as well. Via email or text. Pro-tip, if you do need medication for your pet - some medications are available to be sent to your local walgreens/cvs and are usually so much cheaper. (please note, i said "some" and "usually"). Highly Recommend!

Even when I asked them on the spot, they simply told me without avoid the question or making me wait until the end of the appointment like other vets do. The first time I came in for an emergency visit, everyone including the receptionists were very compassionate and sweet. For the follow up visit, Megan St. L and Dr. Hawbecker helped me very informative and honest about treatment. I didn’t feel like I was guilt tripped into paying for things I could not afford. They both told me there’s different alternatives to take to ensure my cat will recover. It’s clear they care about people’s pets

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Ashland is a miracle worker!! She really listens and knows how to treat each little furry friend in the way that's best for them. My puppy Pete has a very sensitive stomach and we were experiencing a lot of diarrhea after he got neutered. She put together a treatment plan that utilized the supplement I had mentioned worked best for him (and gave us lots, which made me thrilled), plus a new drug aimed specifically at helping cramps. He was back on his feet by the end of the day - I am serious! His recovery is completely back on track, and if I may say by how well the incision is healing, I think he's going to be all better sooner than expected!! We love you and truly appreciate all the time and care you took to help us!! Thank you again!!

Experiencia negativa: Eastern Animal Hospital was acquired by the private equity firm Terravet, and prices have skyrocketed. Took my dog here for years. You can pay less for the same care, treatment, and experience at many other places. Save your money. They will chalk it up to professionalism and knowledge, but at the end of the day, the corporatization of vets is a huge issue in the United States. Eastern Animal Hospital has unfortunately sold out to the system. Go elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: Check my profile out soon for incoming video review! But in the meant time, this is necessary and hope people will think before allowing this place to handle your animals! So I took my Abigail (golden retriever) to them when she suddenly became sick, lethargic, and started to lose her energy quickly! I assumed it was the fact that she ingested some antifreeze, as I caught her licking something suspicious out front! I took her to Eastern Animal Hospital and was told by Dr Michelotti (which may be misspelled), that not only did she believe that she ingested that due to a light test on her teeth, but that Abby also had a huge tumor in her belly which was a fast growing cancer, and her belly was filled with blood! She stated this a known fast cancer for goldens and wanted to euthanize her immediately, stating she had 24-48 hrs, to which I declined, because at that time and up til her death, which was a week later, she didn't seem to be in pain. However, they just kept insisting that euthanasia was the smart thing to do even when I called back with questions about IV fluids a day or two later per her prescriptions! It was all about euthanizing her! With that said, and respectfully my boyfriend and I decided to take her home and let her pass peacefully at home with those that love her! No doubt I was in some sort of disbelief, and still am, but was caught off guard with such a demanding response that euthanizing her was the best choice! So they gave me meds to keep her comfortable and I brought her home and on Sat (a few days later,) I called and spoke to the staff, about the IV electrolytes The Dr prescribed and how to administer; Nat, was wonderful! Walked me through how to do the IV fluids etc., and couldn't thank her enough! The night I left the hospital with Abby, I was so distrought by the prognosis, I returned thinking I lost my phone! Danielle came outside and even helped me find it, which again, due to being so upset, and feeling blind sided by this prognosis, and the Drs stern belief to euthanize her immediately ; she helped me and saw it right in my Jeep! I hugged her, cried, and just went on my My boyfriend had read and ordered B17 which has been known and studied to be a cure for cancer (although not FDA approved) Prior to giving that to Abby I wanted to hear the DOCTORS opinion of the vitamin and called for such! I spoke to Carly who later called me back stating hastily "Dr Michelotti says NO it's cyanide and will kill her immediately!" Well isn't that what ya all wanted to do anyway With that said, I asked if the Dr could PLEASE call me back WHEN SHE HAD TIME because after spending over 2k to find out my dog was dying, I thought I deserved a call directly from the Dr to answer my many questions about B17 to which Carly, had no answers for and said such! Carly than hung up with me and told the Dr I cursed at her, the staff, and cursed about the Dr??? Why in the world would I cuss people out when I desperately needed their help??? When Dr Michelotti called me back before she would even speak to me, she told me that she didn't appreciate me cussing her nor her staff out and after I explained, she said she would mark my chart with my side of the story??? My side of the story was nothing more or less than the truth! I was losing my fur baby at 9.5 yrs and was definitely not cussing anyone! If anything I was thankful at that time for their services! I just asked to speak to the Dr WHEN SHE HAD TIME!!! After My Abby passed they met me outside, took her and had her cremated etc charging me another $400 and were very kind and sympathetic which was clearly an act!!! Today I received a call from a Cierraro (probably misspelled) requesting my side of the story because I emailed Carly and the staff wanting an apology for her lying! Instead, I was told in the future my other pets were not allowed there, and to seek help elsewhere?? Funny how they were so kind and faked sympathy in order to take that additional $400 to cremate her yet now I can't go there in the future all because of Carly lying on me!! My FB full vid

These conversations are never meant to feel rushed or forced, and we’re genuinely sorry that our communication did not come across in a way that felt supportive to you during such an emotional moment.

Experiencia fantástica: We had suspicions that our cat had a UTI. After calling and describing the symptoms, we were told to come in immediately for an emergency appointment. The staff was friendly and directed us to the complementary snacks/coffee while we waited. As this facility also serves as a veterinary emergency room, we waited for about an hour beyond our appointment time, which was communicated upfront as being a possibility due to the need to triage emergency walk-ins. During this time, we witnessed first-hand the level of urgency and diligence that the vets and staff act with in regard to performing potentially lifesaving evaluations for emergency situations ranging from choking to seizures. Once it was time for our appointment, the communication from the vet was clear and considerate of balancing the best possible care within any cost constraints, all of which was discussed upfront. There was even a follow up call to check in a couple of days later to confirm that our kitty was improving!

Experiencia positiva: While the doctors provide exceptional care, there are other services that are lacking. For example, trying to get through on a call takes a ridiculously long time. I've waited as long as 15 minutes several times. That's unacceptable. I am currently on hold for the second time today, 13 minutes and counting. There are some services that are exhorbitantly expensive. Administering fluids, $150?? Blood pressure test, $80? Unfortunately this clinic has gone corporate, and this is why prices for many services have gone through the roof. Don't blame the doctors, protest the corporation.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my cat for an emergency visit. I was very pleased with the staff and the consistency of compassion and empathy. The finance representative Sarah, went above and beyond while juggling a heavy work load. She took care of my needs and did not once drop the ball. She was thoughtful when applications seemed questionable. The Dr appeared well informed and explained details of anxiety and how it can affect a cat. She took gastrointestinal xrays to check for blockages. Everything was reviewed in detail. Beau was sent home with medication and follow up has been very thoroug. May need more medication or another visit. I would recommend this service To anyone in need of assistance.

Experiencia fantástica: This last visit on Friday 10-17-24 I took my cat in and she was seen by Rebecca Parrish..she was kind and understanding. I felt so comfortable with her..she showed wonderful compassion for my IBD cat Jewel..I absolutely Loved her.. I had seen vets at other hospitals who I didn't feel comfortable with..she restored my faith. I will not feel that going to the vet is dreadful anymore..She will definitely be Jewels permanent vet from here on. Update.. Jewel saw Dr. Parrish again today..she was in complete feral mode at first..but the staff is great with her she had blood work done today..they said she did fine.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve never owned a dog…and I ended up with a Mal last December. I’ve no clue what I’m doing! BUT so thankful I walked into Easter Animal Hospital! The staff is great, from the front desk to the vet techs. I lucked out and got Dr Warner-Jones on my first visit. I was honest. Told her I’ve no clue what I’m doing but I do whatever she says lol. She told me I should really look into pet insurance. I did and SO happy I listened! Pet insurance makes taking you pet in to see a doc without having to question the expense! EAH makes it easy for you. I know all of Mack’s vaccinations and when the next are due thanks to their portal. I’ve use the pet ER there many times. They “dumb down” directions for me when I have to administer Rx or creams, etc. AND they always always call to check on me/Mack! There is also a convenient day care and boarding on site. I use the boarding a lot and plan to use the day care as soon as Mack can get fixed. I’ve nothing but great things to say and will continue Mack’s care there!

Experiencia fantástica: I want to say how much I love Eastern animal hospital!!! The whole entire staff are just so wonderful, I have 2 fur babies that have medical issues and I took them in and it was figured out immediately and my girls were put on meds that are really making a difference. I never have to worry or stress when I have to drop them off for the day for treatments and no matter what my girls get done they always leave happy and stress free. My one fur baby had to go in through urgent care yesterday and we saw Dr Warner-Jones and when I tell you she is fantastic I mean it!! She is very thorough and loves on my girls like they are her own, she calls to update me and puts my mind at ease and goes over everything I need to know and explains it where I never have questions. I have seen many vets there and I love them all, I have never had a bad experience and we’ve been going there since there old building and will never go anywhere else. Thank you to the staff at the front desk to the pharmacy and the technicians and the veterinarians. We appreciate every single one of you and thank you for always taking wonderful care of our girls. It means everything to us❤️

Experiencia fantástica: I and my family cannot say enough good things about this clinic. Just recently are female cat was having an emergency. My daughter called to see if she can get an appointment for our cat to come and be seen. She was not only met with kindness and courtesy but she was able to get an appointment that same day. Upon arriving at the clinic my husband informed me that they did not wait long before they were called back and our cat was being looked at. They were very thorough in explaining what was going on with our girl and what are treatment options were. Unfortunately our sweet girl was going through kidney failure and had to be euthanized. They brought our little girl home for one last night and then the following day again called and got a same-day appointment for her to be euthanized. Again my husband, daughter and our cat were met with kindness and treated with respect. Not only was the environment calming and homie. The staff was amazing. They were very sympathetic, understanding, respectful and they gave my family the time that they needed with our sweet girl. We received better care there for our sweet girl as well as her human companions then Dundalk Animal Hospital. My family was treated with more care and understanding at Eastern Animal Hospital then we have ever received from any human facility for ourselves. I do plan to use their services in the future. Experiencia negativa: I used to come here over the years for the care of my cats and old dog. I moved to PA and decided to go back to them since I rescued an 8 week old kitten. I really loved their office and wanted to stay with them, even though its far but worth the drive. The lady I spoke to quoted me over $1,0000.00 for the kittens shots and to be spayed. Absolutely not. I will be looking elsewhere for the treatment my kitten needs because over a grand is absolutely ridiculous. Not sure what happened to the office but they used to be very reasonable. Oh well.

Experiencia fantástica: My pug Luna unexpectedly had a very bad allergic reaction to what i believe was some type of bug bite , this was on saturday afternoon literally minutes before they were abt to close i called and explained the emergency and even tho i got there right as they were closing i was met at the door by a lady that immediately took Luna from me and got her straight to the back , within 10 minutes of getting there they had my baby's severe swelling going down that fast and she was running around the waiting area like it never happened , i was in and out within abt 30 minutes total and she was so much better , they were so nice and understanding and i appreciate it so much , i kno they all wanted to go home but they treated us with kindness and understanding and for that im so thankful , this a very good caring veterinary hospital ..!!!

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could say I had a positive experience here, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. I recently moved from Texas and chose this clinic because they were the first vet with availability. My dogs have been dealing with Giardia, which has been stressful enough on its own. At our first visit, we saw a vet who, frankly, seemed like she didn’t even like dogs. She was condescending when speaking about our puppy and appeared visibly annoyed by his typical puppy behavior. It was an uncomfortable and discouraging experience. For our second visit, I specifically requested a new vet and got Dr. Perez. She was great! She was kind, patient, and professional. I wish we had seen her from the start. My most recent visit was prompted by a phone conversation where I was told to bring in a sample so they could test it and advise on treatment. However, when I arrived, there was no record of that call, and the staff seemed unsure how to proceed. I ended up waiting nearly an hour while they tried to sort it out. After that, I had to repeatedly follow up to get the test results. I called twice and was told someone would get back to me—but no one ever did. On the third call, they finally told me they had the results but had “other things of higher priority,” which, to me, was unacceptable. After these repeated issues, I’ve decided I won’t be returning. We have literally driven to VEG further out rather than coming to this vet and had a much more enjoyable and helpful experience.

Experiencia fantástica: My poor cat got her tail shut in a door, it was very scary and we had to make a same day, Sunday urgent care appointment. But, the front desk, techs, and Dr.Sole were incredible and helped us feel at ease. I walked in at 1:30 PM and was leaving with my stitched up, loopy girl by 3:30 PM the same day. The pricing was very transparent, and everyone made me feel like they loved and cared for my cat like I do. This experience has made me consider switching to Eastern as my regular vet. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been taking my baby to EAH for over 10+ years and I can’t expressed how wonderful the staff has been. Yesterday my 12 year old shihtzu got a dental and I was extremely nervous for her to be under anesthesia but her surgery tech Sara and Katerena were both so knowledgeable and made me feel completely comfortable about the surgery. I was updated when she went into the surgery and got a call from Dr. Solé about an hour later about how great everything went. We’ve also gotten technician Kate during multiple visits for check ups and she is wonderful as well. I will 100% be requesting Sara or Katerena for any surgery my pets will need. I always feel confident taking my baby to EAH because of the wonderful staff.

Experiencia fantástica: Wow wow wow! Yesterday was an incredible experience at the Easter Animal Hospital! Our Doberman puppy was sick, and we needed a vet ASAP. We had read so many positive reviews, and I’m so glad we chose them. I’m a very particular person when it comes to vet care. I always want the best for my pups, and my expectations were not only met but also surpassed. The care, friendliness, and overall service were phenomenal. The prices were reasonable, we left the hospital with our puppy feeling well again. This is exactly what I want from a vet. I couldn’t recommend them more. Experiencia fantástica: Brought my Staffy here because he was in pain and hadn't eaten in two days. Had no clue what was going on with him. I called the night before to get some advice and ask about appointments and was told about the urgent care process. The next morning I followed the instructions that I was given and was able to get an early appointment. We rushed right over and they saw my boy immediately. They were friendly and very patient (as he walked very slow due to the pain or my husband had to carry him). He was a little nervous leaving hubby and I, but they allowed me to walk with him when it was time to get his x-ray. I was grateful for that, since I just wanted him to feel comfortable in this new place. Ultimately, we left with a couple of prescriptions which have done the trick. My baby is back to his usual energetic and greedy self... LOL His little brother is ecstatic to have his playmate back (and so are we. IYKYK)! Thank you to everyone we encountered. We will definitely be back.

Experiencia negativa: I have been going here for about 3 years with my 2 dogs. Vets are a mixed bag. Overall, the practice does better at acute care than preventive care. This is frustrating to me since I pay several thousand a year for preventive/routine care and it has not been great. One did not review notes before coming into annual exams & acted annoyed if you asked questions. Another was good. Pharmacy is HORRIBLE. Wrong rx's set to supplier. Orders delivered incomplete. Eastern pharmacy staff are cavalier and have a "not my job" attitude. They are inefficient and push u off to their supplier's (vetcove) text messaging platform. My previous vet used vetsfirstchoice, which was more efficient and easier to deal with. The front desk staff and very nice and helpful almost all the time. The facility is very nice

Experiencia negativa: Was initially pleased with my first urgent care visit here. The vet was very thorough and addressed my concerns (although that made for an outrageous price). However, after I called 3 times to get test results that should’ve been in, they finally admitted that there was an error and the labs I was waiting for were never sent. I had to take my dog back for more bloodwork. Down the road, I reluctantly took her back once more for another condition and got a different vet who frankly didn’t know what my dog’s condition was and ran tests that in hindsight weren’t indicated based on her presentation. No clear answers. Another vet from a nearby practice replied “I’m sorry” when I mentioned I had taken my dog to Eastern Animal Hospital. Seemed unprofessional at first, but now I get why they had that response….

Experiencia fantástica: First time dog owner so I was very worried when I had to take my dog in for an emergency visit. All of the staff are very trained and kind, especially with my dog who is a bit of an anxious one. The vet was very descriptive and walked me step by step on diagnosis and care. Overall, I had an amazing experience with everyone there and so did my dog. I would 100% recommend to others.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a late night appointment for our beloved, Chihuahua, Cookie… She was being very lethargic, but breathing heavily… She didn’t eat her supper meal, which was very unusual… we were greeted very cordially and had a short wait period… Her initial intake revealed a respiration rate of 138… They decided that cookie needed to be given some oxygen to stabilize her…Dr. Michelotti later explained that Cookie had a heart murmur which we were not aware of… they offered to keep Cookie overnight to monitor her condition…and also offered us additional bloodwork and lab testing for further evaluation… However, we didn’t want cookie to stay in a strange environment and decided to take her home once she was stabilized…. Unfortunately, on the way home, we could tell she was not responding to the medicine… And she died lying in her favorite bed spot between us at 12:30 AM that night… Cookie was over 11 years old and gave us many happy times over the years… we took Cookie remains back to the Eastern Animal Hospital for cremation services… And we received a card of condolences from them… I’m not sure what other animal hospitals are in the area… But I personally feel there’s none better and caring in the baltimore metro area…Many thanks to Dr. Michelotti and wonderful staff

Experiencia fantástica: Friday evening my dog had a seizure. I called up Easterns animal hospital and they were able to get my sweet Maci in for urgent care. The news was the worst possible news a pet parent could get. Dr. Wensil-Strow was very empathetic when delivering the news and I made the decision to let her pass peacefully the next day. The vet tech, Carly (If I'm not mistaken) and Dr. Michelotti helped walk us through the process. They gave my girl a peaceful passing and I can't describe how thankful I am for the team at Easterns with how great they were through one of the most difficult times I have gone through. Ravioli was immediately physcially calmed and came right to her on his terms, she pet and loved on him like he was her own and , HE FELT THAT!! cats are highly intelligent!! then when Dr Ashlynn cane in EQUALLY AS THRILLED TO MEET RAVI and he liked her so much he was circling her but all the while lightly tapping her with his tail his spirit is in there alive and well!! sort back story, 2 weeks ago i took him to hunt valley urgent vet care… DO NOT STRESS:TORTURE YOUR ANIMALS GOING THERE!! My tech was amazing, u could feel she truly loved animals… the dr came in, all 22 yrs old and smelling like a hangver, took one look at my furry family member and her face turned up, she said lemme get some gloves.. she grabbed him very rough, like the way an uncle would bring his niece to her mom with s poopy diaper, just totally disgusted!! it was on her face and my poor sick Ravi could feel her energy. he did not her touching… hast forwards after 25 mins of him being in CHF and needed to b out down now, but it just didnt feel true in my soul….. fast forward we went to eastern animal hospital today and it was BEYONNND WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR!! i cannot thank you enough FOR SHOWING RAVIOLI AND I that there are still people in these positions with that lifelong burning passion for animals!! sorry for the essay but honestly i didnt want to miss 1 detail bc you ladies deserve the recognition!! but also for new ppl looking or someone who went to the hunt valley place and was traumatized as well!! THISSSSS IS THE PLACE YOU WANNA GO!! prices still beyond affordable but the love ajd bedside care by tye staff… PRICELESS!! last little thing id like to give a very special shoutout to Ms Melissa- she ALWAYS answers cheerful and eager to help, she is kind and never shows any frustration!! most importantly for me, bc i was in such a panic, i had been calling and speaking with melissa for a few days like maybe 4 times a day and even I was annoyed with me, but she remained stoic in us getting Ravioli (my baby feeling better asap), Melissa is an asset to this company and honestly anywhere she were to choose to work, you guys are blessed to have her, as was !! seriously cant thank you enough Melissa!! and thats also goes for Dr Ashlynn (sorry if i mispelled, and Ms Taylor W!!! your kindness and calm safe environment seems to have healed my vet ptsd… especially since this last incident… but RAVI TOO!! he didnt fight or even try to get away from any of you, he felt totally safe, even through the battle his body is fighting and that meant the world to us!!! keep on doing what your doing, our animals need more people and teams like you all!! THANK YOU AGAIN FROM ALL MY LITTLE FAMILY TO YALLS!!! Ravioi is the rotty of the house and theres just no words to convey my gratitude but THANK YOU!!

Experiencia fantástica: Eastern animal hospital is the best emergency animal hospital around! This week I am dog sitting my mother’s dog for her while she is out of town in the Bahamas with no reception, Her puppy was chasing other dogs at the fence and broke a nail in half really close to His skin and his quick was exposed. I had no idea what to do or where to go and even the puppies own personal vet could not help. luckily eastern animal hospital not only quickly got me an appointment but they also worked with my out of the ordinary circumstances needing to work out payment from my grandfather as i could not afford the procedure cash myself. My grandfather is also deaf and can barely read lips so it was a lot, but they did not once make us feel like it was too much. they were calm patient understanding and they were very informative with what was going on explaining the procedure and explaining aftercare. i think the procedure was very fairly priced for emergency surgery that needed sedation and my pup was in and out in a total of 6 hours. i only actually spent maybe 2.5 hours there as i was able to leave my pup there in trusted care and return at the end of the procedure to pick up. This is probably one of the most stressful scenarios ive been in- in a while and all of this with four kids under the age of six…. but eastern animal hospital made it so much easier and completely resolved the issue without making us feel like we were too much! from the moment we walked in they were willing to lend a hand in any way possible to make the experience a bit easier.10/10 would recommend if you want your pup to go somewhere where the staff definitely cares.

Experiencia negativa: We took our cat in the ER for a hemoglobin in his ear. They swiped his ear for a test and didn't tell us it was for a test until after it was done.($100 for this test). Said he had an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. They said they were going to drain the ear and see how it did. They gave us meds for flea prevention (even though he didn't have fleas), and took him back to get his ear lanced. Literally 5 minutes later he was in his crate coming out. We got antibiotics and ear drops. I asked how to take care of his ear. She said it would just drain. When we got home home, NOTHING was draining from his ear, and it looked THE EXACT SAME AS when we took him in. $600 and a week later, his ear hasn't changed at all. So, we called and asked if they could recheck his ear because it wasn't lanced. They told us we'd have to pay for ANOTHER VISIT, and surgery because the lancing didn't work. I'm not a vet, but I'm not an idiot either. It was obvious they didn't Lance it, even though we were charged for it.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely terrible experience at this pet hospital. They gave my dog multiple vaccines at once without properly informing me of the risks, and my dog ended up having a severe reaction—almost didn’t survive. Instead of taking responsibility or even showing any sympathy, they just kept saying it was a “coincidence” and refused to acknowledge any fault. To make things worse, they forced me to pay for the ICU treatment to save my dog. No apology, no accountability—just a complete lack of professionalism and care. I would never trust them with a pet again.

Experiencia negativa: i took my dog here last night for the urgent care due to her vomiting, constipation, not eating/drinking and just not acting her usually self. her appointment was at 6pm. she wasn’t seen until 7-7:30pm. we ran any test they wanted to do to figure out what was wrong. they couldn’t get a definite answer or diagnosis. she was dehydrated, they gave her an iv and a shot, sent us home with 5 different medications. we got home around 11pm. was there for 6 hours, paid almost $2,000. my dog didn’t make it through the night. she had to of passed away a few hours after we brought her home. she didn’t make it to even get any of the medications she was prescribed. when we left the hospital didn’t offer a call or appointment to follow up to see how she was doing. i feel as though they knew she wasn’t going to make it and sent us home anyway without saying anything. it might not be the case but that’s how it felt to us. our poor pup is currently being cremated somewhere else. i wanted to leave a review in case this happens to anyone else. we still have no idea what happened or why she fell sick so fast. she was fine days before. it’s so unexpected. UPDATE: a week and a day after my pup passed away, i received a called from someone who works at the eastern animal hospital. i think trying to clear their conscious after reading my review. they asked me to explain what happened the night i brought her there (the same night she died) i told them the events that occurred, they told me they did all they thought was right. last night my boyfriends dog also got sick suddenly out of no where, the same symptoms pup had. we took him to a different pet er. they gave us a definite answer as to what was wrong with him. ran the same test, gave the same iv medication, etc. his sickness had to do with him being a male dog. my female dog pup couldn’t have gotten the same illness as him. i asked that pet er what do they think could’ve caused my pup to have gotten sick so suddenly and die even faster. they said they can’t tell obviously because she’s no longer with us, but if they maybe if they ran an ultra sound they could’ve maybe found something deeper to give me a definite answer. i asked the person i spoke with why they didn’t offer to do an ultra sound, i was told “we weren’t thinking that at the time” after telling me they have veterinarians with years and years of experience. again, maybe it isn’t there fault. but i was told on the phone after seeing my dog they thought she was very very sick, if there was any inkling as to what could’ve been ran or if she would’ve made it or not i should’ve been told. i should’ve been offered whatever test and thing needed to be absolutely done to figure out what her problem was. i don’t recommend going to the pet er at this location. the urgent pet care on york rd in cockeysville was very helpful, informative and sympathetic when handling my boyfriends dog. maybe the animal hospital isn’t at fault, but even now especially after the phone call i had i believe that is the case in some way.

Experiencia negativa: The vets here are amazing and take great care of my cats so well. However the communication is absolutely lacking, twice now my husband and I have come in for an appointment are told by a tech that they will take our cat to the back and he should be ready in 30 minutes only to leave us sitting there for hours. And the issue is not that they are taking their time with the appointment it is the absolute lack of communication as to why 30 minutes has turned into 3 hours. If they had given the option to leave and come back to pick him up that would have been greatly appreciated. At this point it feels like the staff enjoys having us waste our time in their office.

Experiencia negativa: I am really starting to think that this place is just a money grab. Each and every time I have brought my dog to this place I have left with a $400 or more vet bill. It’s really starting to get ridiculous. I brought my dog in for her ears and paid these people $407. Only for her to still have the same ear issue weeks later. Bringing your animal here will lead to debt so I’d encourage anyone considering going here to find somewhere else. Make this place a last resort.

Experiencia fantástica: I would like to thank the staff for helping me through my situation. I had to put my 13 year old dog, that I've had since she was 9 weeks old down. The staff explained the process and made sure of my decision before anything was done. They made it a ruff time much easier for me that night. It was still hard, but they showed plenty of compassion for me and my dog Honey. Today I received a sympathy card in the mail from them. Who does that? Everyone from the guy that answered my phone call, to the actual doctor and all the other vets were all very helpful. I wish I could remember names, but everything was a blur. Experiencia fantástica: I have been using Eastern Animal Hospital for 30 years. The finest doctors and staff. Dr. Kaufman and his staff have always been available for emergencies, and I have been there past closing time on more than one occasion. I am picking up my Golden at 8:30 tonight who needed emergency surgery and who is doing fine. I am fortunate Dr. Kaufman recognized the problem yesterday when I brought Duke in for another reason. He pointed it out and the lab tests confirmed it. He did the surgery this afternoon and Duke will be sleeping in his own bed tonight. I cannot recommend any "business" I have ever used more than EAH. Thank you again Dr. Kaufman and staff. I just had Duke in for his annual. Dr. Kaufman was his usual excellent. Damian was a new technician and he was great with Duke. He even carried him out to car because Duke was wobbly. Thanks Damian.

I especially love that they do daycare so she can play with other dogs during boarding and a bath on the day of pickup. Experiencia fantástica: The team at Eastern Animal Hospital is top notch. They always go above and beyond tsupport me (a single mama of 2 dogs) and take excellent care of my babies. Recently, I was in a pinch and really needed boarding for an important family event. They were booked, but at the last minute, MEGAN, sent me a text message saying she was able to move things around and get them in. It’s not unusual for them to go above and beyond. I’m very appreciative of the care and support this team provides.

Experiencia fantástica: Li recently came back to the area, my little jack Russell had seen a previous vet and mis diagnosis with a skin tag, they told me she was too old to do anything. Brought her home and it kept growing calling several appts could not see me. Finally called eastern and they fit me right in. But it was yo late I had to have her put down they treated us with such compassion and dignity I will forever be grateful if I’m the future I will always bring my pets here

Experiencia negativa: When I moved to Baltimore from the west coast, I chose this vet due to their AHA certification and claims that they were an elite hospital. The experience I had with them was the exact opposite of what their credentials claimed. On one particular visit, they told me that I should euthanize, then ran blood tests and told me that he was fine and euthanasia was out of the question. You can't be so fickle in matters of life and death of peoples loved ones/pets. My Boston Terrier had developed an infection in his bladder which was causing him to drink tons of water and pee excessively. The vet charged me over $6000 in the span of a few weeks only to tell me they didn't really know what was wrong. The issue was actually with his kidneys, and I'm not sure whether it was made worse by the medicine they put him on which was known to cause kidney damage. When my dog's health declined (many months later) I took him in right when the clinic opened to be euthanized and was turned away. That was the final straw for me. This clinic does not have well trained staff, they are not accommodating, they are only interested in racking up a huge bill for you with pointless tests, and worst of all they are heartless. No one should ever visit this horrible business. Take your pets somewhere that will actually care about them.

Experiencia fantástica: I had never been here before and to be honest wish I never had to go here, but not in the way you may think. I was on vacation and returned Sunday August 11th. As my son and I got to the car at the airport my husband called to tell me he was leaving for work and had the dogs out to do their business. He told me my Alaska (my beautiful all white blue eyed Siberian Husky was moving a little slower this morning, so I replied ok I’ll check her out when I get home. My son and I arrived home 44 minutes later only to find my baby passed say on the dining room floor. I have absolutely no idea what happened. I also didn’t know what to do who to call. I called my husband hysterically crying and he called me back letting me know a lady he worked with recommended calling Eastern Animal Hospital. Watching my two boys carry her lifeless body out (wrapped in a blanket) to the car just ripped me apart. We got to Eastern and the staff could not have been more caring, concerned (about me I was a mess) and compassionate!!!! They handled her with such gentle Care removing her from the car. I had her cremated and we picked a beautiful urn for her. Today is Friday and at 8:45PM I just got a call to let me know her remains were ready for pickup as well as her paw print. The man that called me again, so sympathetic and caring. Asked me if I was ok. In a time so very hard on me and my family, even with the circumstances Eastern Animal hospital could not have handled me, my family, and my beloved Alaska any better. Thank you

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT take your dog to this vet unless you want them to call animal control on you. Yes our dog was very sick with a fever, lethargy and eye drainage. Though our dog was very sick and we take great care of her we can’t afford thousands of dollars on vet bills. We saw Dr. Hanum Wensil-Strow she recommended us to do blood work, IV fluids, antibiotics and an ultrasound of her uterus. This place just wants your money. Why would you need to do an ultrasound of her uterus when she has eye drainage? She also never explained why she wanted this testing. She just kept saying she’s very concerned. We asked for an estimate and would discuss what we could afford. She came in with an 800$ estimate. Something we couldn’t afford. Then the tech came in and we told her that we would hold off on blood work because she’s still eating and drinking and urinating so we didn’t suspect organ damage. We denied the ultrasound for obvious reasons. We agreed to the SQ fluids, eye antibiotics, and by mouth antibiotics. Which still cost almost $500. The techs response was…. Well I don’t think the vet is going to give you antibiotics without blood work. What?!? The vet eventually agreed to send us home on antibiotics. Our dog Ruby is getting better slowly and we would have taken her to another vet if she wasn’t improving. But today animal control came to our house because this vet said she wasn’t being taken care of? What? Because we can’t afford 800$. Literally don’t take your dog here. Even animal control was surprised and couldn’t understand why they were called. Below is a picture of Ms. Ruby. Does Ms. Ruby with her hair groomed look neglected?!

Experiencia fantástica: When we googled nearest pet ER's, Eastern Animal Hospital came back as a result. Needing to go somewhere quick to get our dog evaluated for a wound we decided to load up and head right over. When we arrived, they let us know that they are not necessarily a pet ER and that they were booked the rest of the evening. Even so, they took the time to evaluate our dog to see if we should go directly to an ER or if we could hold off for the night and they could take us first thing in the morning. After the evaluation we decided to book the first urgent care appointment with them the next morning. When we returned with our extremely anxious dog the next day, they were so patient and loving. Everyone who came in to evaluate our dog went at his speed. We will absolutely be returning as normal patients based off our first experience with Eastern Animal Hospital.

Experiencia negativa: Don't take here for long term illnesses. Dog diagnosed with seizures and on time limited medication. Been here for several years due to proximity and unable to afford to move out. Cancelled appointments despite text based confirmation. Twice in a years time span. My appointment has been given to someone else. The wording in the voicemail is "likely reschedule. Not cancel" Told I now have to wait extra long for something I booked. It is stressful every time I have to deal with medication. I stayed for the vet techs and their wonderful approach to my dogs. Vets understanding but everytime it's an issue with scheduling and their computer system. Or their front desk. Timing on the medication is tight and it makes it hard to work in their "restrictions". This makes it hard to get another vet due to her medical issues but will be forking out the cost just to get away from them.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff have been very kind and very helpful both times I've come here. We decided to start coming here for our second female cat cause we had problems at another vet with our first female cat. Things are a bit more on the pricey side but I'd rather have to go to a vet that actually does things right than one that doesn't.

Experiencia fantástica: I first went here to address a skin infection for my dog. They were amazing! My dog hates the vet and he was so good with them. They were patient, genuine and had so much knowledge. I won’t go anywhere else for annual check-ups, vaccines, etc. The facility is great and the Vets and technicians are awesome! 10/10 would recommend.

Experiencia negativa: So my visit with this place wasn’t bad but after getting multiple different vets is definitely the most pricey, my cat had something stuck in his stomach is what they had thought and after 2,000 dollars in visits later they still couldn’t confirm or deny if something was actually in his stomach or not, he wasn’t eating during the time and obviously that’s very concerning so I was calling the vet constantly and asking them what they think and etc, and after further looks they had told me my cat either needed to be hospitalized which I can’t even remember the price with how high it was or get surgery for him which the surgery he needed started at 8k is what they had told me and when I simply told them I had quite literally just spent everything I had with them in the past few days they recommended me other places of surgery that just do the surgery not as well for cheaper that you also have to wait a month for, I obviously didn’t have a month to wait so stressed out of my mind I went to a different vet they gave him some different food he started eating and he has been better since and I can only thank for for that and hope it stays this way, but I just wanted to post this because ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPTION, eastern told me my only option really was surgery which would’ve put my cat through horrific things and he hadn’t needed the surgery and has been going for check ups at this other vet and it’s so much better. Please do not make your animals go under unnecessary surgery’s (the first photo is just the first bill of blood work and X-rays)

Experiencia negativa: I was excited to come here for our first appt it was a beautiful office but when I got to checkout I about fell over. I had a check up and was prescribed no meds he had no shots or blood work I was charged a biohazard fee on top of the office visit fee and when I called to make a new appt I asked about all the fees and I was never told about that. Paying an extra $60+ biohazard fee every appointment is wild since he had no shots or sharps used. Can’t afford to come back. This place is for people with a disposable income.
We are sorry for the breakdown in communication. Our biohazard fee, which is $13, helps us pay for gloves, syringes, and all of the supplies we use for all appointments. This fee is often linked to an exam fee, but we have kept it separate for transparency. While your pet may not have had sharps used, to keep this fee low it is charged with all exams. Experiencia negativa: I stopped going to them around September 2022 b/c the daycare/boarding gave my dog another dog's medication, and, in another instance, they gave me the wrong dog when I tried to check out & the technician tried to convince me it was my dog. It took another technician to confirm that they were giving me the wrong pet. (My pet was fine in both situations, but it was just annoying.) I called on May 2 b/c my pet needed updated shots & an exam, but the place I prefer was booked for the entire month. The phone rep told me everything was set for 9am on May 7. When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk staff told me they gave away my appointment b/c I didn't pick up the phone when they called to confirm. So, I told her, "I'm a nurse, and I was at work when you called. I can't just drop everything every time a phone rings." So, they told me to come back 2 hours later and they'll see my pet then. So, what's the point in making an appointment? And, I asked the front desk staff why didn't they tell me when I made the appointment that there was a risk of my appointment being given away? I would've told you right then and there that I HAVE to keep this appointment b/c my schedule isn't flexible, or I would've explored other methods of confirmation. Also, they closed before I got off of work. Why on earth would you wait LESS THAN 24 hours before the appointment to give someone that kind of information with no other option. I'm not sitting at home twiddling my thumbs. I should've stayed away from this place. I canceled the appointment, called my preferred establishment back, and was able to schedule an appointment because someone canceled.

Experiencia fantástica: From birth to end of life care, Eastern is THE destination for medical and boarding care. They don't leave your animals unattended overnight like SO MANY other "animal hospitals" do. Their prices are a bit higher, but the availability of competent thorough care is worth it. The only complaint I have is that their vaccine prices are higher, which should NOT be the case. Here is where you should probably go elsewhere like Vetco for annual vaccines, until Eastern realizes that their profit margin for vaccines is onerous and unnecessary. Take note Eastern that this should be a new campaign- "We have lowered our vaccine pricing because we care"

Experiencia negativa: I love some of the vets here, but today’s experience has us heading to a new establishment. We have a litter of 11 working dog puppies on ground, and mom had to be pulled out at 2 weeks for emergency surgery. They’ve been formula fed ever since. We are getting ready to move and need to vaccinate them before we start our drive to Florida. We called and scheduled our vaccination/litter exam appt for this morning. When we scheduled we confirmed that they would vaccinate two days ahead of the 6 week mark. The receptionist conferred with others and confirmed that two days wasn’t an issue. Today we took our vulnerable puppies out of their whelping area; loaded them up (took an hour); hauled them into a vets office (potentially exposing them to God knows what); fended off a receptionist who stuck her fingers in their cage without asking; just to be told that they intended to just do a litter exam (no vaccines) and that I would have to return in two days for shots (and pay exam fees all over again). The litter exam consists of them weighing and deworming (things I’ve already done) so we just left and made an appointment elsewhere. If they had told me at scheduling that they couldn’t vaccinate during the litter exam, we would have skipped the litter exam and scheduled for next week (without the unnecessary exposure). They insisted we do them together (to save us money- even though I told them I didn’t care- my priority was vaccinations). The vet didn’t even have the decency to come talk to us this morning. The vet sent the tech (who was great) to handle their dirty work. Do better Eastern- for the sake of the few great vets you have on your staff.

Experiencia fantástica: Our most recent vet visit was an emergency visit after our dog was attacked. From the minute we called to say we were bringing him in until we left after they had our dog settled, the staff at Eastern Animal Hospital was exemplary. They immediately started working on our dog and while we waited, they tended to the wounds that my daughter and I had. They were caring and comforting and kept us up to date on our dog thru the night and into the next day. The staff made a traumatic situation much easier for my family. I highly recommend Eastern Animal Hospital to anyone needing an amazing vet practice for their animals.

Experiencia fantástica: Even though they may be a little pricier than other vets, they always go above and beyond to help however they can. My senior cat has been here multiple times and each time they treat her with love. What inspired me to leave a review was my most recent visit, where my senior cat accidentally lost her bladder all over me and the girls at the front hunted down an extra scrub top so that I didn’t have to sit in a pee soaked shirt. It was so nice and kind and I’ll never take my pets anywhere else because they do everything they can to help.

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve had good experiences almost every time we’ve been here, this past visit was no exception. Dr. Perez is thorough and took great care of Dexter, and did an excellent job of explaining his test results to me. She was also sensitive when I told her that I have severe OCD and tend to be overly concerned with minor symptoms. A lot of times that leads to concerns being dismissed, but she took me seriously and ended up finding something in his bloodwork that could have easily been missed. I really appreciate the care that my animals have been given. Our first visit was with Dr. Parrish for our 12 week old kitten who we found missing a leg, and all of the staff we interacted with at that appointment adored her and treated her the way people treat their own pets.

Experiencia fantástica: A little more expensive than some vets but absolutely worth it. The entire staff is kind, smart, and seems to really love their work. The facility is clean, bright, and welcoming. The diagnostic and surgical procedures they can do in-house save a lot of stress and travel. I have trusted EAH since the mid 1990s and would not consider going anywhere else. My dog is always happy to go to the vet, and if that's not an endorsement, what is?
