Experiencia fantástica: Amazing, truly lifesaving care! We were in the middle of a 2,300-mile move when I realized I had left our diabetic cat’s insulin in the refrigerator. After calling countless pharmacies and veterinarians along our route—with no luck and no one able to help—we were running out of options. Swann Animal Clinic—especially Kaylee—went above and beyond for a cat she had never even met. She took the time to help us get the prescription we urgently needed, and it quite literally saved our cat’s life. Because of her kindness and effort, our move became far less stressful, and our 15-year-old cat was able to feel like herself again. We are incredibly grateful.

I am so grateful for all of their staff, but I want to especially thank Dr. Enevoldsen for her presence, empathy, and knowledge when we had to make difficult decisions for our dog. Swann has always been amazing about getting our dogs in as quickly as possible. In this case, we called for advice and they scheduled us an urgent care appointment where we were able to get there and in a room within 20 minutes. That was the best possible outcome for us. I know they take care of so many animals and that they do everything they can. I have had good experiences every time I come in, from the front desk, to the tech staff, and the doctors. I know this is not easy job and the way they have helped us throughout the years is appreciated more than I can express in words.

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I had the unfortunate duty of putting our cat Mischa to sleep. Lymphoma was destroying her body as well as rampant leukemia. We'd spent several thousand on diagnosis and treatment. But it became clear that she was suffering and even if we did everything we could we'd only her a few months max. My wife was bringing her home from Dallas after another expensive procedure and the doctor finally recommending euthanasia. When she arrived home we immediately sent to Swann's. Needless to say our beautiful girl crossed the rainbow bridge. They were consummate professionals who you could tell were struggling their own emotions as my wife and held each other and cried. I really appreciate them making Mischa as comfortable as possible, being gentle, and being understanding. I can only imagine how it must feel to have the solemn but necessary duty to euthanize terminally ill pets. Thank you, Swann's animal center. You continue to earn our business because you showed incredible compassion that night.

Yeah you can go to tractor supply and get shots for $12. But thats it. You dont get the full work up thats needed like you do here with very knowledgeable and honest, and sweet staff.

The vet herself was very informative and helped us feel better about the state in which our cat was in. I really appreciate the quickness in which they were able to book an appointment, and I will definitely be using them for the remainder of all of our pets lives.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a loyal client at Swann Animal Clinic for over 7 years and never had a bad experience until now. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed how I feel about this clinic. My 3-pound dog was brought in for a nail trim, and the staff cut the nails far too short, causing my dog to cry out in pain. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or showing concern, I was treated like I was the problem for being upset about my dog being hurt. Any pet owner would be concerned in that situation. To make matters worse, Dr. Hill had very poor bedside manner. The interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and lacking empathy. On top of that, the amount of cologne worn was overwhelming, which is uncomfortable in a medical setting—especially around animals that are sensitive to strong smells. As my dog has breathing issues. When the staff was done with my dogs they pushed them at me and I stated to ring me up they stated don’t worry about it and told me to get out. After years of trust and loyalty, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I expect better care, accountability, and compassion—especially for small, fragile pets. Sadly, this visit showed a lack of all three.

They tried conservative treatment 24 hours prior to taking him to surgery. Miranda and Dr. E kept us informed prior, during and after surgery on expectations and recovery. We are traveling with our dogs and were treated as if we were long time patients of Swann Animal Clinic on 45th Street here in Amarillo. Experiencia fantástica: Jasper wasn't feeling well. We took him to Swann on 45th. We did everything that they recommended for treatment and he's back to being Jasper again!

Experiencia negativa: Swann Vet has a money making racket and incompetent vets. The short story is that they charged me $333 for a deep nail trim. But what is worse is that they over medicated a 21 pound, 9-year old dog for a procedure that usually doesn't require sedation. They used Butorphanol which is 5X stronger than morphine and used for severe post operative pain and Deximedetomidine which has cardiovascular side effects. Sedation is always a risk. The long story is that on 9/26/25, I took my dog Zoey to Swann's urgent care because her toenail was at a 90-degree angle. She'd walk on it with some discomfort. We saw Dr. Dodson who told me two times that that normally the nail would just "pop off"; but since Zoey's nail was still firmly attached, I'd have to bring her in the next morning. Dr. Dodson said Zoey would be sedated and her nail would be removed. The tech went over costs for the procedure which included a deep nail trim @$41.67, sedation, antibiotic, an NSAID pain reliever and bandage. I declined the deep nail trim. They sent us home with gauze pads and styptic powder in case the nail came off that night. The bill for Friday evening was $143, $99 for visit and $44 for NSAID pain reliever. We returned the next morning and once again I declined the deep nail trim. When I picked Zoey up, I found that the only thing they did was the deep nail trim on all her nails; the nail that was to be removed was trimmed and looked normal! The tech said that Zoey exhibited minimal discomfort but they decided to sedate her anyway. When I told them that I had declined the deep nail trim they said that the nail trim costs the same whether it is one nail or 10. The bill for the unnecessary procedure was $190. Zoey was so medicated that she could not walk on her own or close her mouth for over 12 hours. By God's grace she finally came out of it. But who knows if she will suffer long term effects. Dr. Dodson could have given Zoey an oral pain med and trimmed the nail during the initial visit. The whole experience makes me ill. Swann vets put my dog at risk for no reason other than incompetence and monetary gain.

Experiencia fantástica: So I adopted a neighborhood long hair tuxedo cat with beautiful Amber eyes that look green in the sunlight. I took her to my vet at swann animal clinic On 45th and got her all up to date on her shots and had a wellness check done and she's going back to get spayed in a couple weeks all this for $700 Which is affordable for someone who loves their pets!. My doctor of veterinary medicine is Dr. zapalac she is so professional and has such a sweet demeanor and her communication skills are extraordinary she makes you feel like you're a family member while you're in her office.I can tell she's really passionate about her career. I have mild mental retardation and she explained everything to me so that I could understand it perfectly. She was also very gentle with my pet Oreo who just happens to be a female and is very prissy. I highly recommend this veterinarian as she exceeded all my expectations during my first visit.

From the moment we walked in, the entire team treated Gus with such kindness and patience. He’s been pretty nervous since the move, but Dr. Schilling and his staff made him feel completely comfortable and safe. What really stood out was that we never felt rushed, Dr. Schilling took his time talking with us, explaining everything, and really listening. It’s clear they truly care about both pets and their owners. Gus and I are so grateful to have found Swann Animal Clinic!

He got down on floor to "visit" with Brandy and she never displayed any anxiety. The staff is caring and concerned. Update. Life continues, Brandy has crossed the Bridge and I have a new GSP. She received a full physical from Dr. Beau and he announced "she is a healthy young Shepard". He called to check on her a week later. Swann has great follow up with their clients. All of the Drs answer all the questions and take time to get to know the animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough kind things about this clinic, and especially Dr. Troxell, who is now stuck with us for life. We have two dogs that go see her, and she is great with both of them. We are currently in the middle of a very complex case with my Aussie, and I have no doubt that Dr. Troxell will do everything in her power to find us answers. The entire staff has always been so kind and accommodating. My Aussie recognizes many of the staff members and techs, who all love on him, and has zero anxiety when going in. He even gets excited when I tell him we’re going to see Dr. Troxell.

Experiencia fantástica: Early Tuesday Morning 05/21/24 I had to take my Yorkie Charlie to the Emergency Small Animal clinic on Canyon Dr due to some serious symptoms I saw that he was experiencing. They took care of Charlie until 7am and told me he was suffering from an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. Charlie was on Oxygen and needed to stay on it so he could be further treated. They made a referral for me to Swann Emergency Vet center on 45th. I took Charlie there and they immediately took Charlie to the back and put him an Oxygen kennel and began treatment based on the ER’s medical records. A detailed history was taken on Charlie and within 45 minutes Dr Heritage Enevoldsen who explained to me what was going on currently with Charlie and showed me X-rays taken of his torso. I was given several options of what could be done with Charlie and i decided to have him treated. I left Charlie with Swanns clinic until Thursday 05/23/24 where he was released. During the time Charlie was with the clinic I was called Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning and given updates on Charlie health. On Thursday when I picked Charlie up I was furnished 30 days worth of medicine Charlie would have to take twice a day. I was give a thorough description if everything they had done for Charlie and his long term prognosis. On Friday they again followed up with and asked me to bring Charlie back due to him having a couple of incidents of upset stomach over night. They gave Charlie a shot for nausea and they gave him some additional fluids. Even though Swanns was not my primary veterinarian they took great care of my little Charlie and they genuinely cared about him and me. I am going to continue my treatment with Charlie at Swanns as I feel they will give him the best care for however long he has. I will recommend Swanns to all my friends for the care they furnished. I want to than Dr. Enevoldsen and the staff at the Emergency clinic for their treatment of Charlie and a stressed out pet parent. Gary Trupe. Over the last year and a half I’ve had some serious issues come up with my dog Zoey from heart issues, to suspected cancer, to dehydration and just old age problems. Dr. Enevoldsen, Dr. Troxell and others have given me more time with Zoey because of their care and treatment plan. Zoey is happy and living the best life she has left thanks to Swanns. I truly believe the Doctors and staff care about our critters and consider them family. I’m glad I’ve trusted them with the care of my babies I have left. Gary Trupe.

Experiencia positiva: We’ve been clients at Swann Animal Clinic for a while (YEARS), but this most recent experience left us extremely disappointed and concerned. Our dog just had surgery on her ear, and when we picked her up, there was no one-on-one conversation or post-op discussion. We voiced our concerns Tuesday morning and was told we would receive a follow-up (we finally received a call back (Wednesday) and surgery was Monday). Even more troubling, when we got home, we noticed the IV catheter had been left in her leg. We had to turn around and go back just to have it removed. That kind of oversight is unacceptable, especially following surgery. It’s upsetting to feel like your pet isn’t receiving the attention to detail and care they deserve, especially during recovery. The front desk staff has always been kind and helpful, and we appreciate that. But this visit left us feeling very uncomfortable and questioning the level of care being provided behind the scenes. ***Our vet was apologetic and spoke to us about our concerns but it’s troubling that it took so long.

Swann Animal Clic at 45th, Dr Ellersick & team made themselves available to see her in an hour. All the staffs & Dr were very considerate and friendly, and found out my dog had a corneal ulcer. I sense that they really care about my dog, I feel relived and better after the visit.

Our primary veterinarian is Dr. Barber, but have been seen by many of the other doctors, all given expert and compassionate care. The Vet Techs are great, no matter what comes up they are always respectful and our pets respond like everyone is part of the family when they go there. We have had some very tough times and tough decisions but I always know that we are getting the best care and are always well informed on our pets care, wellness visits and not so well visits. Thank you for all that you do, we highly recommend the team at Swann.

Experiencia positiva: I was taking my dog to Acoma Pine, I was very satisfied with tg3m, but they've permanently closed, I was looking for a new vet and came across Swann, I think it was just luck, or maybe fate, I wanted to get my dog Sadie started on a flea and tick medication, and had concerns she was starting to have vision issues, wr went in today, the staff was great, very thorough, and Dr Ellersick was great, she checked her eyes and assured me there was nothing to be concerned about, I'm very pleased with our first visit, they're a little more expensive than Acoma was, but not enough to keep me from returning, I think they're great

Experiencia fantástica: Swann AC Urgent Care on 45th is 10/10. I am just passing through as I am moving across country and unfortunately needed to find vet care, but so glad I found them! Traveling solo on limited funds & no income and they completely understood, worked within my budget (and without judgement!), and still provided the best care I have ever seen a team of people give my cat and dog. Especially my cat, who ended up going into critical condition the next day. They gave me every option, completely judgment free, and worked within my budget when I chose to hospitalize her and see what happens. The team that worked on her was so phenomenal that she miraculously made a near full recovery in 24 hours! enough so that I was about to get back on the road and head towards home. I honestly think if it wasn’t for the amazing team of people here, she might not be with me right now. I wish I was a local so I could tell every person I know to go here, and so I could continue to use their amazing care in the future. Experiencia fantástica: We recently had to make the incredibly hard decision to help our cat, Sampson,  pass on. He was an older cat with FIV, and it had suddenly taken over his body completely. It was an emotional and heartbreaking situation, as he was our everything. I called Swann on 45th at noon on a Saturday and asked if they had any openings that same day. Even though they didn't, they made room on the Urgent Care side to help us. They were so wonderfully kind and compassionate to not only us but to Sampson, more importantly. He was able to have love and comfort until his last breath. Even though it is one of the worst situations to be in, Dr. Friemel and Brittani made it the absolute best it could be. We will never forget them and the love they gave Sampson and us. I hope I don't have to do it anytime soon, but the next time I'm faced with this decision to help a pet cross over, I will go to Swann.

Experiencia fantástica: We have always relied on this place for our emergency needs for our furry companions, especially since we live in a rural community where the vet isn’t open on weekends. The staff here is very friendly and take the time to listen to their customers. Our experiences have always been pleasant, and if anyone is looking for a thorough facility, this is the place to go. Staff is very friendly and DVM Troxell and Schilling are very informative and showed great interest in caring for our sweet Bonnie. Thank you!

Experiencia negativa: What an increadably dreadful experience, when Sirius went in they said he needed his bladder drained, he was having problems peeing, they took him back, then said he didn't make it?!? He was just fine when we went in there, he was a beloved ESA family member, he is IRREPLACEABLE, This Death was detrimental to his psychiatric disabled human that now must recieve help to process this killing of their best friend....This was a Horrible experience & will never go there again. I don't give a gosh damn what excuse they want to give, it's unacceptable & avoidable & inappropriate

Experiencia fantástica: I took my chihuahua, Skittles, to Swann clinic on 45th. She went for her yearly exam and shots. Everyone is always very kind and professional. Brittany took wonderful care of Skittles! She is great!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was attacked by another late evening on a Saturday. They took us right in and attended to my dog's needs and my emotions in a very caring way. They gave me an estimation of charges and the bill was alot less than quoted !! I will be taking my other dogs there in the future

Experiencia fantástica: There is no better than Dr. Hill. She is the most compassionate vet I have ever met. She loves the babies unconditionally. She always took great care of Cookie for years. Work hard to manage pain levels and Cushing disease.

Experiencia fantástica: I don’t have the words to convey how grateful we are for all Swann at 45th has done to keep my family together. We weren’t sure if my girl would make it home after a serious injury, but as you can see, she did and she is just as grateful as we are. Everyone at Swann has been truly great, and there were so many people involved (I wish I knew all their names, like they know my girl’s name), but I want to give special thanks to Dr. Enevoldsen, Dr. Ellersick, technician Miranda, and Dr. Solomon.

Experiencia negativa: I understand being a vet of any kind is very stressful and of course your run into often times very sad things! However when some one comes in In hopes of getting there pet set for a long life this clinic isn’t the one I would recommend I came in looking to get some shots for a 3 month old puppy who was clear of any sickness and anything that might be a sign or symptom of disease. They took me into and room and immediately took my puppy away to do nail trimming to try and get her to be more at ease with them. When she came back she was just more scared and refused to be playful or anything else. They gave her vaccines and they told me to give her and dewormer which I later found out was not FDA approved and was not supposed to be given to a puppy of that age. This medication cause my puppy to develop seizures. I took her to the emergency animal clinic where they told me about the medicine not being FDA approved or ment to be given to a puppy so young. So just watch the meds this clinic gives you

Experiencia fantástica: Swann Animal Clinic went above and beyond to make the care for my cat Wilson as seamless as possible. They were extremely knowledgeable and were able to articulate what was going on and the action plan every step of the way. The staff has been overwhelmingly kind, considerate, and encouraging. After this experience this clinic will 100% be my go to vet clinic for all of my pets needs in the future!

Experiencia fantástica: The guys at Swann Animal Clinic on 45th are the best!. They may be on the expensive side, but the vets and technicians show a lot of concern for not only your pets but you. I really appreciate them taking the time to see me unannounced with my elderly dog Jasper. They gave me some insight on how best to proceed with him. Thank you.

Experiencia negativa: I truly hate leaving bad reviews. If you are considering of finding a vet to euthanize your animal I would not suggest coming here for several reasons. They had us in just a basic check in room where it was extremely crowded to sit on the floor and be with our animal.They then had to drag my dog off to another room to put her iv, which they could have simply done in the room where we could have comforted her. She had extreme anxiety and today was not the day for them to trigger that in her within minutes of us having to put her down. As the tech dragged her away she had such fear in her eyes and I could hear them laughing at her as they were trying to put her iv in. Then this tech had the freakin audacity to tell us as she comes limping in that she was just be overly dramatic. The vet who did put the medication in our sweet girl was the only thing that was sincere about the visit. The vet was sweet and talked us through what she was doing and apologized for our loss several times. A family going through the hardest day like we did saying goodbye to a family member deserved to have a better room and able to comfort our girl before we had to say goodbye rather than trying to calm her down from the anxiety and fear she had experienced from being dragged off. I will not be back to this vet again and will be telling others not to come her either.

Experiencia fantástica: Sam and Rose [blue heelers] were in for a tech appointment for vaccines. The Vet Tech that helped us was the best I've ever seen. She was efficient, knowledgeable, and kind. We just get the BEST care at Swann's on 45th!!

Experiencia fantástica: Our Boston Terrier was 14 yrs old and had we stuck with our original vet (which we used for years), he would have been gone 2 yrs ago. Because we decided to get a second opinion and were pointed towards Swann, we got 2 more yrs with him. Dr. Friemel at Plum Creek eased our minds back then for that second opinion. Our baby boy was doing just fine until a couple of months ago. We took him to see Dr. Bailey Salas at the 45th location. I cannot express our deep appreciation enough for how Dr. Bailey Salas handled our baby. She not only is so intelligent and kind, she is very attentive to the animal as well as the owner. I felt at ease every time we left after visiting with her. She was thorough in our appointments and detailed in her correspondence with me (called me at home to review and discuss his blood panel results). When it came time to say goodbye to our sweet boy, Dr. Bailey Salas made me feel like we were the only customers in the building, as she always has. We were given so much time with our boy and the process was handled delicately and with so much grace. I couldn't have asked for this heartbreaking experience to go any smoother or better. Our young daughters were there with us to say goodbye, and she answered their questions and explained every move she made so that they were comfortable. Her team is excellent and the office as a whole is not only professional but so caring and helpful. I tell them every time I enter the building that their clinic NEVER smells like a normal veterinarians office :) It always smells so nice and clean. That, combined with the smiles of everyone who works there and the excellence of the doctors, makes Swann the best clinic in town, hands down. Thank you Dr. Bailey Salas and team for all that you did for us. We will be back in the future once God brings a new fur baby into our lives :)

Experiencia fantástica: I love the care my little guy gets every time I take him in. Dr. Schilling and the rest of the crew are phenomenal. I’m so grateful for their care and compassion. Rebel has some unique health needs and I know I can trust the folks at Swann to take care of him and help me give my little guy the best quality of life. Thank you all!

Experiencia negativa: This vet gave us 3 options to get rid of the swelling in my dog's ear. They said all the options would work. When we picked up the dog after the procedure the bandage that was supposed to help prevent the swelling from coming back. The bandaging came off before we got home. I called to ask what to do. That was on Friday. They didn't return the call til Tuesday. Explained the situation and they told us they would have to charge us again to look at our dog who's ear is still swollen. They should see him again as they told us this would work and it didn't. I do not recommend this vet for your animals.

Experiencia negativa: Not a client and don’t ever plan on being one…. Just an fyi for anyone who thinks they might want to use this vet for something major or other than routine care for your pet. Terrible communication skills for clear knowledge in TOTAL pricing and aftercare. And when brought to the knowledge of staff some said “we hear that often” and others choose to ignore the fact all together! Do better! Sad

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Ellersick is a phenomenal doctor. We have been so blessed to have her as our family’s veterinarian for many years and she has always been so supportive, caring and kind. We honestly believe she loves our pups and wants only the very best for them. She takes extra time with us to explain procedures and expectations.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone on staff from technicians at the front desk to the doctors and assistants in the exam rooms have been absolutely wonderful to my family and dogs. Very professional and explain our pets issues very clearly. All of the remedies are laid and out and the staff is very patient with us as we ask questions and make decisions. I'm very happy that the Swann clinic is our go to veterinary service.

Experiencia fantástica: I couldn’t have found a better clinic. We travel for work and had just gotten our dog neutered before coming to Amarillo. Everyone said having your dog neutered would be an easy thing. Our dog definitely checked the boxes for anything that could possibility go wrong after. It was not easy and it felt worse to be hours away from our normal clinic. This clinic and doctor Salas are AMAZING. I’d recommend this place to anyone. They fit me in the same day something came up, had medicine and supplies available on the spot, and answered any questions I had with kindness. When I needed to, I was able to send in pictures to get advice instead of going in. If I could pick this clinic up and take doctor Salas around with us to help my sensitive dog I would!. They set the standards for what an animal clinic should be.

Experiencia negativa: 7/12/24 Today's experience for my 4 month old cat and I was awful at the Swann clinic at Plum Creek. My 4 mth cat bit a tech while she was trying to get him back in his carrier. So they called animal control. Now he is being quarantine for 10days in a kennel at Amarillo animal management welfare. The tech should have been wearing gloves that protected better, not latex. And maybe they should let the owner assist. I mean cats are unpredictable. Any animal is to strangers. So because he had not had rabies shots in which he was there for. He is now locked up, stressed out in a cage by himself being exposed to other contagious disease or infection. As I took him food for his stay. I seen an employee pulling three large ticks off a dog, threw them on the floor in their work area before giving owner their dog!!!! But my cat is safe!!!! Not!!!! Thank you Swann for stressing my cat out and myself!!!! Josey Patterson, We were told by your tech with long white hair and DR Hughey my cat bit your tech after being weighed while he was put back into his carrier. And she was wearing latex gloves. All cats bite at times, it is not uncommon. He bit during play, not uncommon.He is not a violent cat as you try to portray.Your staff is not given a very good protocol to follow for protection if only wearing latex gloves. Nor did they elect to ask questions about the history or about my cat. Being you operate a veterinarian clinic and employ people that deal with animals you should have better protocols to protect your staff. It’s not the responsibility of the animal owner to help you operate the safety of your business. Your tech with long white hair said I’m going to let y’all sit out here and take him back. No questions asked about my cat. I figured your staff was trained for handling with care for themselves or the animals. Your phone call with intention only to tell me it was the law and you need to protect your staff does not protect my cat from stress from being separated from his home , locked up in a small cage for 10days. He will not get any exercise, he will stay in cage the whole time. As I mentioned in our phone conversation he comes from a two story house and runs free in his home. And also mentioned in our phone conversation he bit Dr Hill and she did not call animal control . I hope you find better ways to follow better protocols and safety for your staff and animals. Because animals can also contract STDs from exposure of biting a human . As mentioned in our phone conversation I am too concerned with my cat contracting a disease from your employee .
