Experiencia negativa: ben passed away here after i left him overnight on IV fluids. when i checked out, they returned to me his leash but had lost his harness. it’s been a week with 0 communication on this and i do wonder how this was misplaced. it was originally gustavo’s harness, who passed in 2023 and very sentimental to me. i appreciate them stepping in to attempt to save my dogs life. vet didn’t give me any impression he thought he wouldn’t make it, so i agreed to the treatment. i regret not staying or to end his suffering sooner… as paperwork states “stiffening throughout the night” he was humanely euthanized the next morning. some of the staff was very sweet to me. others not so nice until my payment went through. i can understand why that might be, but it is very awkward.

We are also very sorry to hear about the missing harness, especially knowing how sentimental it was to you. We make every effort to carefully handle and return personal belongings, and we have reminders in place to help prevent items from being misplaced. That said, we understand how upsetting this must feel, and we would very much like the opportunity to look into this further and see what we can do to help make it right.
Regarding your concerns about communication and payment, we strive to treat every client with compassion and respect at all times. Payment policies are discussed upfront, and there should never be any difference in how a client is treated based on payment method. Experiencia negativa: Brought my dog in for an emergency. Found out he had imha. The performed a blood transfusion. The 1st one went well. The 2nd transfusion they gave him caused a blood clot. Which killed my dog. My dog died in my wifes hands at this vet clinic. The bill after the fact was outrageous! They lied about a lot of stuff. They should have been more clearer on what was going to happen to my dog. Should have showed some compassion! Worst day ever! Well after lieing again. You told my wife that morning that my dog was dying cause of a blood clot that couldnt be fixed. So your staff lied or you need to get your story str8. You killed my dog U had us believing he would make it thru this if we paid the 6k for thr blood transfusion. You didnt communicate. You lied to get more money knowing this wouldn't help my dog.

After reviewing Remi’s medical records, there was no indication that a blood clot was identified as the cause of his declining condition. Given the seriousness of his illness and his continued deterioration, our veterinarian discussed multiple treatment options and also recommended referral to a specialist. Ultimately, the decision was made to proceed with humane euthanasia to prevent further suffering.
Our team carefully reviewed all treatment plans and estimates with you throughout Remi’s care, and signed authorizations were completed to ensure clarity regarding recommended treatments and associated costs. We always strive to communicate openly and compassionately, and we are very sorry if our communication or support did not meet your expectations during such an emotional and stressful time.

Experiencia fantástica: I had brought my sick grumpy kitty in for vomiting. Dr Gale and technician Amanda were great! From begining to end of visit very informative. Experiencia negativa: Had my dog euthanized today very sad got a quote and ended up charging us an extra 200 and all I got was I’m sorry I quoted you wrong that was my mistake so made it to be our fault do not come here your quote will change very unprofessional rude disrespectful had an attitude when they realized it was there mistake! If you have extra money for there mistakes at a time of grief we shouldn’t be treated this way there staff need to be trained properly and have respect and not try to take more money from us at a time like this! Experiencia negativa: I am sharing this review to caution other pet owners. We brought our diabetic cat, Luna, to this emergency clinic because she had not been eating for over a day, which is a serious concern for diabetic animals. The veterinarian on duty performed labs and a urinalysis and sent her home with an appetite stimulant, attributing her symptoms to anxiety. We were not informed that her lab results showed ketones in her urine, which we later learned is a significant warning sign for diabetic ketoacidosis. Had this information been communicated to us at the time, we would have sought immediate emergency intervention elsewhere. When we requested the lab results the following day, the person on the phone wanted to send it directly to Luna's regular doctor. (side note, I am a nurse and if they had just sent me the lab result, I would have taken Luna to another vet immediately and perhaps the outcome would have been different). Once her regular vet reviewed the labs, we were urgently advised to take her to another emergency clinic. By then, her condition had worsened significantly, and despite intensive care, we ultimately had to euthanize her. This experience was devastating and left us feeling that critical information was not clearly communicated when it mattered most. I encourage pet owners to ask detailed questions, request copies of all test results, and advocate strongly for their pets when seeking emergency care.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our beagle here during a sudden medical emergency caused by a heart tumor. Sadly, they were not able to save him, but Dr. Eshmont and the entire staff showed us extraordinary kindness and compassion during one of the hardest moments of our lives. My partner is a veterinarian, and Dr. Eshmont was thoughtful enough to speak with them as a colleague and in medical terms, but also took the time to re-explain everything to me in clear, gentle, and compassionate terms so I fully understood what was happening. We were given all the time we needed to say goodbye, and our dog was kept as comfortable and peaceful as possible throughout the process. The technicians were equally wonderful. One of them even helped us clean out our car after our dog lost control of his bowels during the rush to the hospital — a small act of kindness that meant so much to us in such a painful moment. This was a traumatic and completely unexpected day, but the doctor and staff did everything they could to support us and ease the heartbreak. We are deeply grateful for their care and humanity.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank Northside enough for all they have done four our fur baby. From the moment we checked in to the moment we loaded up in the car to go home they were right there. They walked us through surgery and updated us throughout the days and nights our baby was there. I wish they provided routine vet care because they are the only ones I can trust with my baby!!! All of the vets that we have been to have been awful. NOT THIS TEAM!! They are beyond amazing!!! Thank you all so much for saving my silly boy who likes to be sneaky and eat things he shouldn’t!!!

Our puppy accidentally ingested something and they did not judge us whatsoever, they immediately attended her, took care of her overnight and she survived! Pricing was not expensive at all! Experiencia fantástica: Over the last several years, we've brought our fur babies to Northside. Many times it was due to life ending decisions because of old age, or terminal illness. We've ALWAYS been treated with the utmost care, and compassion by every member of the Northside team. We've been to other emergency care places, and non of them have come even close to providing the incredible service that Northside has given to our fur babies and us. Experiencia negativa: I went there with my Doggo Friday. The staff was nice! I loved the nurse. She was really nice! They heard my problems that my dog was having. They took that information to the back to the actual vet and I figured she would at least tell me anything. What could be the problem. What kinds of treatments they were thinking on what to do to help my poor guy. But when she came from the back she was very cold. Didn’t tell me anything useful of what my dog could be suffering from. Literally showed no emotion. No concern. Nothing! She quickly came up with a high quote on what I’m looking at cost wise tho. Money was on her mind. Which was double of what they told me on the phone. She said she would be back with the full estimate and sent the nurse. I had the money and my dog has insurance. But something was telling me the vet shouldn’t be trusted with my dog. She kinda reminded me of a Probate lawyer. Actually the probate lawyer was more warm. The one star is for the staff that was friendly. If you are reading reviews. Remember this one. If the vet comes out and is just like how I described. Run!!

Experiencia negativa: Came in with a diagnosis from another vet, and only needed to get subcutaneous fluids, as my dog had been dehydrated. They refused to administer them until they did a blood test, though we already had a diagnosis. All said and done it was $700 after the unnecessary tests they required, and the original diagnosis that we got from our vet was correct. The last straw was that we called back to ask a question regarding the treatment instructions, they said that they can't speak to us unless we come back in and get re-assesed and spend more money with them. Very disappointed in the service overall.

Experiencia negativa: I was told I should consider vet emergency for a dog’s swollen eye. I waited 2 hours and I was told multiple times it would be a few more minutes. No one came. 2 hours of wasted time while my dog was stressed. I understand other emergencies take priority. Please communicate appropriate expectations. I would have fiu a different emergency closer to my house had I known this 39 min drive was a full waste of 2 hours at 11 pm.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been to this clinic 3 times, the first two were emergencies and my most recent visit was for a low-concern eye irritation in my dog when our regular vet was out of town. At every visit the front desk staff have been extremely communicative, compassionate, and overall competent and fair. I really appreciate how experienced they are and that they will help you decide over the phone if you need to bring your pet in. You can tell they frequently talk to stressed pet owners. The vets are fantastic, they clearly walk you through your options without treating you like you are an idiot, and they are always extremely sweet and caring with my pets. The first time I brought a pet in for an emergency the vet on the overnight shift was deeply attuned to my emotional state and I cannot thank her enough for supporting the decisions I had to make quickly. While it’s is an ER vet and they do charge ER vet prices, they are also up front about providing an estimate before running any tests to make sure you fully understand your cost liabilities and best options. I am grateful to have this clinic only ten minutes from my house with easy access from I-25. I highly recommend this clinic in the event of an emergency.

Experiencia negativa: This place is disgusting. They make you wait hours with no communication just to finally show up and throw around the worst case scenario trying to scare you into paying outrageous amounts of money for tests that aren’t even necessary. Even just to get your pet looked at is more expensive than it should be. They also have paper thin walls so you can hear everything. You can hear conversations in the next room, other people getting screwed over, and nurses giggling and ordering pizza but not having the time to update you on what’s going on. Scammiest place I’ve ever been to, stay away from here.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my big boy (Gunther) here for an emergency back in July. They were friendly, professional but overall compassionate. I was out of town and my family had to bring him in since he wasn’t urinating. They let my family call me on the phone while they explained everything. Yes, it can seem like the price can be high but to me it was fair pricing for everything I chose to do. They did provide me with options for financial assistances. During this difficult time, the vet did explain every step we could do but unfortunately the outcome was still not great. They drained my dog bladder once more to make him comforting which would end up being his final overnight with my family and I. When we finally made the decision to have him euthanized, they explained the options I had for his cremation. I was devastated by the decision but they really went out of their way to comfort me and assured me that I made the best decision for his quality of life. When we put him to sleep there, they let everyone in and let me have as much time as I needed to hold him tight one last time after the euthanasia. I highly recommend them and if i ever have any emergency with my other dogs, I would go back. They do truly care about your pets and you. Thank you to all the staff there for every they did for us and mainly Gunther. Last thing: Every time we had to bring him back Gunther never looked or acted stressed, they really made him feel comfortable the best they could.

Experiencia fantástica: If you are truly in an emergency, I need your pet taken care of take them here, they do a great job. I returned from a trip and my little kitty was sick and they walked me through all of my options and helped me Immensely in a time of stress. They are on the bit pricey side, however, absolutely worth it when it comes to my baby. I wanna give a shout out to Nina. She was absolutely amazing. She made me and my cat feel comfortable, as well as her doctor they were all so loving with her. It made me feel very comfortable with them. Thanks again!

Experiencia fantástica: Came in at midnight on a Saturday night/Sunday morning worried that my partners cat was constipated (or worse prolapsed). Staff was very calm and very kind, we were in and out in less than 20 minutes, with no constipation or prolapse thank god!

Experiencia negativa: This place feels more like a joke. My vet had called ahead, but no one was at the front desk when I arrived. I had to wait with my choking dog and explain the situation to different people because the one who had received all the information from my vet could not be found. If you have the option, I recommend going somewhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: Just returned from taking our 19 year old kitty in on a Sunday for emergency euthanasia. Staff so kind and compassionate. Gave us a quiet room with a sofa, wrapped Tux in a super soft kitty bed and ensured it was a gentle, peaceful end. Thank you!

Experiencia positiva: Really good people there, I feel like you're pet is in good hands (once you shell out a small fortune). However the lady who said she was overnight management was just a horrible person to deal with one of the day doctors was a pain to deal with. These two people were brought to make me regret taking my best friend there. Barb was an amazing person and understood how much stress I was under and wasn't trying to add to it. The other two made my situation exponentially worse. If someone tells you the frustration with struggling to pay your first response shouldn't be to defend how much you charge, I don't need you to go into your upkeep cost you're a ER I think you're doing fine with money. All in all I feel my cat had great care from some great people, but there were some horrible people that ruined the whole situation. Because of the doctor that was rude and the night management that had no idea how to talk to people I would not recommend anyone risk using them. Also they will not work with you on any type of payment. If you have a pet emergency and take it there expect to pay full price right then.

Experiencia fantástica: Very happy with our experience treating anaphylactic shock. Our dog collapsed and we didn't know why so brought her right in. They very compassionately took her right back and got her on oxygen and started treating her very rapidly which likely saved her life. We have been here a number of times throughout the years and have had very good experiences.

Experiencia negativa: I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I brought my dog in for what seemed like an urgent issue—swelling and possibly a broken foot—and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. I waited for over 2 hours, only to be told that it would likely be even longer before they could see us. To make matters worse, they suggested I try to get an appointment with a regular vet in two days—on Monday! I understand that emergencies take priority, but a swollen, possibly broken foot doesn’t feel like something that should be brushed off so casually. All I wanted was to help my dog and get them out of pain, but this clinic clearly wasn’t interested in providing timely care unless it was a “severe emergency.” I would not recommend this clinic unless you’re in a true, life-threatening emergency. Very disappointing and frustrating experience.

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend Northside Animal Hospital. I brought my cat in who was clearly having a reaction to a toxin of some kind (frothing at the mouth, fever, lethargic, not eating/drinking, etc.). Northside Animal Hospital's own priority level lists poisonings/exposure to toxins as priority 1, yet we waiting for 3 hours and paid nearly $700. We were one of two patients at their clinic for those 3 hours, so...they were not busy. Ultimately, we were told they couldn't treat the cat because even with a double dose of sedation, the cat would not accept fluids or a shot. This after they did a blood test on the cat. This has never been an issue with this cat before. Long story, short, these folks are nice people, but they are not concerned about your time, how much your spending, or whether your animal leaves being treated or not.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been to this clinic a couple of times with our old kitty and the first time, they diagnosed her with IBS, which she probably had her whole life and our regular vet did not diagnose. The diagnosis and steroids they prescribed for her calmed down her IBS for the rest of her life. More recently, our baby girl returned to the clinic and we had to say goodbye to her. Once again, the vet at this clinic diagnosed her with heart issues that our regular vet, who we had seen the day before, did not mention. They put us in a comfortable, private room where we could spend as much time as we needed to say goodbye to her and then the vet peacefully passed her on. We are forever grateful and so appreciative for the extremely kind and patient staff that helped us, from Robert at the front desk to the vet techs that took her history to the vet that was so very helpful to us. I wish this clinic was a regular vet because I wish I could take all my cats to them all the time!!

Experiencia negativa: If there was a negative I would mark them as negative recently took my dog in as he passed away. They did not explain the cremation process. Basically they just told us to sign us thinking we were going to get his ashes. We just ended up getting a paw print from my Dog of 13 years. We went in as for the ashes they told us it was too late that we only signed for a cremation in paw print but no ashes I don’t even know how that makes sense. How do they expect someone to just not want their dogs ashes they should make them more clear. Now we basically don’t have anything to remember our dog we were planning to get those ashes put in a necklace but now we can’t this is so emotional distressful. I can’t believe this place do not go here.!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently needed to get urgent medical care for my dog Cheyenne during the wee hours of Easter Sunday, as she was showing symptoms on a urinary tract infection. The entire experience I had at Northside Emergency Pet Clinic was EXCELLENT. My initial interaction set a very positive and relaxed tone, as Sally (the Technician/Assistant that checked me in) was extremely kind, helpful, patient and compassionate. As was Dr. Eshmont. I really appreciated how he took time to explain everything concerning my dog's ailment and the treatment options, and how he answered all of my questions and helped to relieve my worries. All told, I couldn't be happier with my experience. Because of their kindness and care I left feeling relaxed, and my dog was back to her old self by Easter afternoon.

Experiencia fantástica: The clinic called to check in on my dog a couple of days after I brought him in for GI issues. I was not expecting this follow up call, so that was amazing on their part! Would love to see a little more cleanliness or maybe air purifiers for the individual treatment rooms (understandably they are busy), but otherwise very happy with our experience!

Our regular vet wasn’t open but fortunately we found Northside Emergency Pet Clinic. The staff was so kind to us and our dog Jill. And while I was in the waiting room, three separate people walked in to collect their pet’s ashes. And the grace the receptionists handled it with each time brought me to tears. So, while I can’t speak for the medical staff here, I just had to say something about the kindness I witnessed from the women running the front desk. Absolutely amazing.

Experiencia negativa: In addition to the issues outlined below in my original post my pet now has kennel cough after being "treated" in this office two nights ago. We were in the waiting room watching Milo "clean" a room in less than 30 seconds before bringing in somebody else's pet. Their cleaning protocol is clearly not up to par, in addition to their fraudulent practices. For the safety of your pet take your animal elsewhere, or risk spending money at a second vet to treat the original issue as well as additional sicknesses acquired in the office. Would gives zero Stars if possible. Management is more concerned about the review image than actually handling issues that arise in the office. Hence no contact from them, aside from the post below. Zero effort has been made by this office to correct the numerous issues that have been outlined. To clarify I did call the number after my review was responded to and there conveniently is nobody in the office who handles marketing or social media. The front desk has zero idea who would have responded as such we were connected to nobody to resolve issues. ****The staff was nice enough but our invoice before agreeing to treatment was $480 and by the time we left it had doubled. Transparency isn't a thing here, big ole bait and switch. Be warned that your initial quote will conveniently be missing the cost of medications and additional labs etc****

ALL of the staff is absolutely amazing, super attentive & compassionate!! Pricey, of course its a vet emergency room without insurance!! That is to be expected!! For us humans that would be outrageously priced as well!! I can not thank you all enough for taking such good care of my precious baby when she has to come see you guys!!

Experiencia negativa: We brought our puppy here after a sudden and severe decline in his health. Upon arrival, they discovered he had extremely low blood sugar and began treating him. Unfortunately, they were unable to find any veins, so they had to insert an IV into his femur. Despite their efforts, his condition showed little to no improvement over three days. In fact, he seemed just as bad if not worse than when we first brought him in. They conducted an ultrasound but found nothing, and they chose not to do blood work, claiming he was "too small." Finally, they recommended transferring him to a specialist facility in Boulder (only after we said we wanted to take him somewhere else), which we immediately agreed to. At the new facility, they were able to perform the blood work that this facility could not, and they uncovered numerous issues (low plasma, low red blood cell count, etc.). Sadly, by the time these findings were made, it was too late, and now my dog is about to be put down. I can’t help but wonder what might have been if this facility had acted sooner and acknowledged their limitations earlier, instead of letting his condition worsen before sending us elsewhere. There's a high chance that this delay cost my puppy precious time and, ultimately, his life. Do not recommend if your dog is having a serious medical emergency where time is of the essence.
Experiencia fantástica: As pet owners, our worst fear happened this last week. Our handsome boy Crixus passed away...my husband and I had no idea where to turn or what to do. We called Northside and was greeted with kindness and very informative gal who explained our options. We took our boy to the clinic and the 3 ladies who greeted us, took special care of him, helped walk us through the process. I had no idea what to expect but I have to say this was by far the best experience you could have with a situation like this. Every single person we dealt with was AMAZING, compassionate and not pushy at all!! Our sweet boys ashes were returned to us within 4 days(they quoted us 7-10 days) so he can be at home with us for Christmas. We also received a heart felt hand written card in the mail from them sharing their condolences! This by far exceeded our expectations for this devastating situation. I would highly recommend Northside for their compassion and love for what they do! I just cannot express enough how much they went above and beyond to make us feel comforted during this time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot recommend Northside Emergency Pet Clinic enough! After a sudden and dramatic decline in our dogs health, we were recommended to Northside by our vet. The entire staff from reception to techs and doctors so kindly held us together and helped us navigate a scary and difficult diagnosis and consistently went above and beyond to not only give our dog George the best care, but care for us as well. We were given the opportunity to visit the hospital every day, with updated calls/texts/photos to help us feel connected from afar. This team does a great job at working together, doing everything they can to send pets home healthy and happy again. We’ll forever be grateful to this incredible group of people!

Experiencia negativa: I’m writing this again since it looks like it was removed. Earlier this year I brought my dog in and a tech tried to tell me my dog was positive for parvovirus despite having all their updated vaccines. The doctor that helped though at least ran several tests to confirm they don’t, because why would they if they had their vaccines?? Anyways it’s like the only 24 emergency vet in the area and they’re always busy.
Experiencia negativa: I took my foster cat in because she had a sudden onset of extremely bloody diarrhea and a productive sneeze, lot's of mucus. I also brought one of her kittens in as he was exhibiting the same symptoms, minus the blood in his diarrhea. My regular vet could not get her in so I called Northside as the next day was Thanksgiving. I explained what was going on and they told me to come in. Once I got there and told the tech what was going on she said that it was probably worms and that I should call the rescue I work with and insist they get dewormed. She also stated that she didn't think they had the test for worms. ? She also said that their vitals were okay so it leaned toward worms. The vet came in and said that I should go to a non-emergency vet as it would save the rescue money. I informed her that the rescue is aware I was there and was fine with it. Plus, since I was already there I would like them to check her and the kitten. She said she'd get me an estimate and return. She slammed the door on her way out. The tech came in with an estimate and said that the vet wanted her to check with me once again to see if I wanted to go someplace that would be cheaper as that way we could "help more kittens". I was SO frustrated and said that the rescue is fully capable of managing their finances and it wasn't their concern. Such a patronizing and condescending comment, I was livid. I found another emergency vet clinic that willingly took them, checked them and they were found to have the calicivirus. My concerns at the other location were addressed with concern and compassion. They did not speak to me like I was a two year old and the rescue gladly paid for their services so that mom and baby were taken care of in the way they deserve. Do better Northside.

Experiencia fantástica: What a professional, kind, and compassionate clinic. We took our GSP here after he ate something he was not supposed to when we were out for the night. From our first call to them around midnight to us finally being able to wrangle our dog to get to the vet at 6am, I could tell we were in good hands. Special shout out to Sally who fielded my calls in the middle of the night and even lent us a muzzle so we could feel safer bringing him in. Really appreciate the whole team who made this stressful experience go as smooth as it could go.

Experiencia fantástica: I don’t have anything negative to say about my experience with them today. After working a 16 hour on-call shift in the human medical field, I got home this morning to my dog with an urgent issue. My regular vet couldn’t see us so I headed here. I’ve never actually had to use an emergency vet before. When we arrived they greeted us and immediately got us back to a room. The nurse came and assessed my boy and let me know her initial thoughts and then took him back to get a better view. The doc then came in within a few minutes to confirm what the nurse said and told me their plan. They already had costs for me so I’d know upfront. They got my boy fixed up. We were in and out within an hour. Everyone I encountered from the front desk staff to the doc were nothing but friendly. Hopefully I won’t need their services again but should I need them, I will definitely go back here.

Experiencia negativa: My dog was having symptoms of toxin exposure. We called this hospital ahead of time, and they told us that they would be ready for us, and we could come right in. Five minutes later, we got there, and they turned us away. They said they had a pet in surgery, so they could not help us. This was confusing to me, because how could they have such limited staff, and be a 24hr emergency hospital? It also didn’t make sense how we called ahead, and they told us to come in, and they’d be ready for us, then five minutes later, they turn us away. I would not recommend this hospital since they have such little staff that they can only treat one pet at a time.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog Blu here in the middle of the night after she had an adverse reaction to anesthesia from a procedure the previous day. The staff was very attentive and after checking Blu out the vet gave me an estimate with all options of care for her. They didn’t pressure me into doing anything. I am so relieved that a few days later my dog is back to her normal self again thanks to the staff at Northside Emergency Pet Clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: I want to thank the staff that helped us with our very difficult decision with or dog, Ziggy. He was diagnosed by his vet with lymphoma about a week and a half ago and we’re told he had about 2-4 weeks and just to watch him for any sudden changes. Ziggy had laid down on the floor and a couple minutes and had his happy face getting treats but when he went to get up, he lost control of his back legs and almost immediately everything about him changed and couldn’t stand up at all, cough became different, laid his ears back, and looked at us with that look like he was ready so we decided to call his vet first thing Saturday morning but within another few minutes, he deteriorated so rapidly we didn’t feel like he’d make it through the night so I contacted Northside as it was the recommended location for his vet. The person that answered the phone, was courteous and caring and allowed me to take my time explaining what was going on, she gave me a quote for euthanasia and related charges which ended up being $100 less than our vet. So, we took him in and as soon as we arrived, she got the nurse who took us to a room and took Ziggy right back to put a line in and brought him back to us. Assisted with paperwork. We didn’t spend much time with him before euthanizing him because he was suffering. The doctor came in and explained everything and talked us through as he was pushing the meds in and let us know when he had passed. The compassion they showed to us in our time of such sorrow was so much appreciated and let us take as much time with Ziggy as we needed and then came and took him and brought us some of his fur. I understand that not everyone is going to have a great experience but I want to thank the staff for helping us through this most difficult time!!

I know that most of us love our pets as much as our children and will do anything to keep them healthy. If you ever have an after hours Emergency, this is the place to take your pets. One of the vets, Christie Hunter, diagnosed my dog with bronchitis and was able to treat him immediately. She made us feel at ease and loved my baby as if it were one of her own. Experiencia negativa: I took my two cats in on the 17th of September for their inability to produce any significant urine. I spent $1296 on tests and fees. The veterinarian told me he was going to do x-rays and blood work on them, as well as some subcutaneous fluids. The cats stayed at the clinic for four hours. When I went to pick them up, we were given two forms of pain meds and told the issue was likely stress related. On the 19th, Nicole called to check on them. I told her one was not getting any better. Rather, this one had now licked all the fur off their hind quarters and was now wearing the "cone of shame" to prevent further issue. Nicole supposedly conversed with the veterinarian and then informed me that if we don't see improvement soon, we might try antibiotics. Well, it's the 19th. My little kitty is not getting better. In fact this one is getting worse. There is now an unpleasant odor despite my attempts to clean the area regularly, keeping a cone around my baby's little neck, and whatnot. The poor thing is now out of painmeds, and starting to vomit again from the pain. I called the clinic to get the antibiotics and Veronica tells me I need to bring my kitty in for a new visit, x-rays, and more testing. I told her we just had x-rays done, to which Veronica tells me we did not. Veronica says the exam fee will be $145, x-rays will START at $300, and then other fees. She also says, "you can apply for a care credit card here to cover the costs for your animal's medical care, and your medical care." Now why would I open a credit card for you to charge me cart blanche? Also, im very aware that Care Credit charges outrageous fees and APR's for their services. I'm not a fool. And, you're now telling me your facility lied to me 5 days ago when I was told you took x-rays by the veterinarian himself. In addition, you all lied again when you called me two days after the visit and told me we would simply try an antibiotic if this didn't get better. Moral of the story, unless you're independently wealthy and you don't mind being lied to and blowing funds on tests you may or may not receive, Don't Take Your Beloved Animals To This Hospital! Experiencia negativa: We unfortunately had to use Northside’s services. We received a quote for 5 figures to remove obstructions that we chose to forgo because of other health issues (bulldog) and the likelihood that the dog would repeat the behavior. The vet was very disrespectful, passive aggressive, and judgmental after we made our very difficult decision to euthanize. The treatment for the animal was average, but the vet was very unprofessional during our time of distress.

I am forever grateful for what they did for my family. Both of my large dogs have been seen here in emergency situations and i couldn't ask for a better experience and outcome. Experiencia fantástica: We had to bring our cat here three times on back to back days when she lost the use of her back legs and the ability to use her litterbox and our normal vet was closed. Dr. Kim and Dr. Eshmont were amazingly helpful and kind, answering a million questions we had and explaining everything that was happening. Stephanie was also so wonderful and explained to us how to express our cat when we were unable. We were also referred to CASE in Boulder who was able to get a MRI and diagnose that she had lymphoma on her spine and treat her for it. So grateful for the wonderful vets here and their kindness in really uncertain times.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing. We were told by a vet at another clinic that out Maggie only had days to live due to heart failure and fluid in her lungs. Took her here to get a second opinion and Dr. Lee found that she does not in fact have fluid in her lungs and is not in heart failure. She has issues with her upper respiratory and trachea. If we hadn’t brought her in for a second opinion who knows what would have happened. Thank you so much Dr. Lee and team!

Everyone on staff here was so kind and comforting through such an awful moment, and I appreciated it so much more than they can know! Experiencia negativa: ***Update*** After the below written review, the pet hospital reached out to me to have a conversation. The Director of the hospital was very compassionate and understanding. Because of our conversation and the review that I wrote, they have made some changes in their hospital to help mitigate future diagnoses for cancer. I’m appreciative that I was able to convey my concerns in order to make a change for future pet owners. Guinness was a good boy and he was gone too soon. I feel better with the hope that other pets will not suffer as long as he had to. Thank you, Northside Vet Hospital for attempting to make it right and for implementing change. My 7 year old Bernese Mountain dog started having weird symptoms over the weekend. He was drooling excessively, gagging like something was stuck in his throat and had pain when we touched his neck. He also had a high fever and hadn’t eaten or drank water in 3 days. Northside brought him in quickly and then we waited, for several hours with no information. When we asked for updates, we were repeatedly told, “we have critical patients right now.” We were patient and understanding and let them take their time. We were asked if they could do bloodwork to which we agreed. Our dog, Guinness, had moderately elevated white blood cells, still had a fever and his lymph nodes were incredibly swollen. Almost 6 hours later when we picked him up, the diagnosis was that he had a clogged salivary gland and would need surgery to remove the gland. If we had the surgery done at Northside we had to wait 3 days and it would cost about $4500 including the emergency visit. We were given the option to drive him to Longmont in the morning for the surgery to have it done quicker as he was in an incredible amount of pain. Taking Guinness to Longmont was going to save about $1300. I originally booked the surgery at Northside due to scheduling conflicts. After leaving Northside, I changed my mind and was able to get Guinness up to Longmont the next morning. When I spoke to the surgeon who would be helping us, he immediately said, “Something isn’t adding up. I’d like to check a couple of things first. The salivary gland being clogged should not increase his white cell count or cause a fever. This issue also shouldn’t cause him to not eat or drink.” The Dr’s at Longmont Small Animal Hospital were amazing. They did one test, a biopsy of his lymph nodes and unfortunately found that Guinness has lymphoma. His cancer had progressed so quickly, when we didn’t even know he was sick, let alone actively dying from cancer. Due to the rapid progression of the lymphoma and the pain he was in , we had to euthanize our baby. We are devastated and heartbroken. This Emergency vet misdiagnosed Guinness, and who knows how many other pets. They would have done a costly surgery that was unnecessary and who knows what else. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. I WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE STATE.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had to come here 4 times in the last few years. Both my dogs hurt their paw & nails within a year from each other. Both of those experiences we were treated very compassionately & the visits were around $500-$600 each from my remembrance. It was more affordable than I was expecting. I’ve had to come 2 more times within the last week. My dog has a neck wound from a plastic cone he had to wear. We were seen the first time fairly quickly as it was around midnight (very grateful they’re 24 hours!). The procedure was done in a reasonable time, everyone was very kind & we were informed about pricing, procedure etc throughout the triaging process. The second time, today was a longer wait because it was during the day & a lot busier. Once again, we were taken very good care of. The wait definitely sucked, but was to be expected! They also have slip leads available upfront if needed (which we needed). My Rottweiler weighs about 130lbs & each visit was different but ranged between $350ish-$580 which included the exam, medications & sedation. I found that to be affordable as I’ve been quoted for sedation alone at $400 for that breed & weight else where. The only thing that I see both as a pro/con is the mediations being given in house. The medications in house are pricey. If they were to give a prescription it could be filled at a pharmacy, which most have some sort of discount program or you could use a coupon. At the same time, if like me you end up there late like midnight when 24 hour pharmacies are sparse you don’t have to worry about finding one & can leave with the meds in hand. As well as the convenience of not having to stop else where .

Experiencia fantástica: we have been to northside 2x in the last two weeks. we have a 6mo giant breed pup who always seems to have something going on. sunday night we went in to the clinic, and they were so excited to see our baby Bucky and eager to jump in and help. dr. moody diagnosed and treated him extremely quickly, and gave the best follow up call after his procedure was completed. it is really hard to focus, and comprehend what you're being told during such an emotional time, but she was extremely calm, kind, and informative. our guy has a few lingering symptoms that we expect to get better in the next few days, but there is already a night and day difference in his demeanor. thank you northside for always being so amazing to me and my family!

Experiencia fantástica: I really couldn't be happier with the quality of care at the Northside clinic. My German Shorthair has been in twice for separate issues and the care has been great on both occasions. The pricing isn't noticeably more than I've paid for an urgent trip to his usual vet and knowing Northside is open 24/7 makes it an easy decision to bring him here. The only time there has been a wait is when a clearly much more urgent case came in at the same time which would be crazy to complain about. Can't recommend this location enough.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this place, they did everything they could to save my little Carlos when he was attacked by another dog. Amanda is amazing, I think if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have had Carlos for the amount that we did. He did pass away this Mother’s Day from old age but we were blessed with a few more years with him thanks to staff and especially Amanda, she loved my Carlos and I definitely felt the love and care they had for him.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot express our gratitude enough to every single staff member at this clinic. They were kind, patience, knowledgeable and took great care of our pup. Our pup had been seen and discharged twice by a previous ER for "growing pains" and upon trusting my gut, and taking him to a different facility, which happened to be here, they took us in immediately. They recognized the pain and discomfort in my puppy, and knew it was more than growing and highly advised us to leave him there overnight, where they finally got to the bottom of his condition. I felt safe leaving him there, and every time I called (which was a lot) to check on his condition and progress, they were happy to update me as much as I wanted. They have provided excellence out-patient care, following up with us on our dog's progress and well-being, and being available for all questions as we adjust to nurturing him back to health. I owe my life to this clinic for helping saving our puppy.

We waited all day and could have taken our cat to his normal vet but were told this tech was on the way—all day! Lots of things we were concerned about were brushed under the rug! Very expensive also compared to other emergency vets. Also very little communication and it was difficult to get records. Sent home without necessary medication. No need for any please call us so we can talk about it more—we have! We’ve talked to you and were told by a vet there “it’s corporate not much we can do!” This review is solely to warn others!

Experiencia positiva: My dog was in active heart failure over the weekend. The receptionist, Sam, was incredibly rude and discouraging. We were not even able to be triaged because she took it upon herself to say "it's a 3.5 hour wait, so it's going to be a minute. And, we do not have a cardiologist here or oxygen." I said "so you can't help us then?" and she said "no, basically not". I went to UrgentVet in Broomfield (a very different experience as they were immediate, warm, and reassuring). While they couldn't help me, they called Northside Emergency and made sure we got in immediately when we went back there. My dog was immediately put on oxygen and the vet techs and vets were all amazing and got her stable. Because of Sam, my little girl was not going to have the chance to say goodbye to her best friend. Because of the medical staff, we were able to have a little more time with her in the comfort of our home.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog in for an emergency check up because he had gotten into a pack of ice breakers gum and ate almost all of it. Thankfully checkin was easy and he got seen quickly. They tested his blood sugar and it was normal levels. $130 for the visit which is in line with a regular vet appointment.

She remembered me the (unfortunately) multiple times I had to go there and made sure my babies got taken care of. Compared to a lot of other ER vets, they are so fast, efficient, and keep you in the loop. Even though they are a little pricey, they did keep me informed on the cost as they went and explained everything to me very thoroughly. If you need someone to go to in an emergency, rush there and they will help. I recommend them to everyone with fur babies.

Experiencia negativa: I’m really disappointed and frustrated with the care my dog received at this facility. We brought him in around 6pm on Monday January 8th due to him somehow ripping his lower lip off his jaw bone. We were told he would need to have surgery to repair and reattach his lip. We were quoted $1343.12 and told that it could go up from there once the surgery was complete, depending on everything they had to do. I asked for high end of what we could be looking at price wise, and they said to expect it to go up about $300-$400. I said ok that’s fine, do the surgery. A couple hours later we were called back to come pick him up to which the doctor (Dr. Feinzig) told me “I did my best to be an oral surgeon.” Um what? That comment alone made me feel very uneasy about the outcome of this surgery. Upon arrival, they went over all his discharge papers, and brought him out to me. Immediately I noticed the left side of my pups lip didn’t look sutured properly, but I’m also not a doctor myself, so I didn’t say anything. My mistake. When it was time to check out at the front desk, I was told there was a balance due, which I expected, but then I was told the balance was another $650. Not the $300-$400 they told me to expect. Frustrated, I paid my balance and left. Got pup home and had him set up and secluded in a room by himself. I followed all of their care instructions, fed him wet food, kept his cone on, did leashed potty breaks etc. I went to remove his bandage as instructed, and noticed he had another on his back leg I needed to remove. Upon pulling up the first piece of tape, I then realized it was actually his IV. Still in him. I had to remove his IV myself. Then, not even 48hrs later, I noticed the left side of his lip looking funny and like it had pulled away from the bone again. Upon further inspection I discovered that some of his stitches did in fact come out. Then not even an hour later, they all failed, and his lip was hanging off him yet again. I called the hospital back and told them what had happened, and they said I would need to bring him back in for an exam and he would most likely have to go into surgery again. I asked if I was going to be charged for this surgery and visit, since I was just charged $2000 for it initially, and it clearly wasn’t done properly. They said unfortunately yes I would have to be charged. I hung up and decided to take him to another clinic in arvada (Urgent Animal Care). Upon arrival I immediately felt better about the place I was bringing him to. They were able do the surgery, and reattach his lip for $500 less than Northside. The doctor there told me that the stitches didn’t work because there weren’t enough, AND the tissue was infected and should have been cleaned up before stitches even happened. The doctor told me she stitched the heck out of him, and threw in extra stitches where she could. I would also like to add that my pup is an anxious pup, and he was showing obvious signs of this at both clinics. Northside mentioned his anxiety, but did nothing about it. At Urgent Animal Care, they noticed right away and said they would get him something for the anxiety ASAP before he even sees the doctor. And they also sent me home with sedatives to help keep him calm. Northside did none of this. I wholeheartedly feel that if I had initially taken my pup to Urgent Animal Care in Arvada, he wouldn’t have had to undergo a second surgery, and I wouldn’t be out $3500. I cannot, in good faith, recommend Northside Emergency Pet Clinic to anyone for the proper care of their pet.

Experiencia fantástica: I can not say enough about how amazing this emergency vet is! My senior pup had an obstruction while I was out of country, and this facility and everyone working there took the absolute best care of him! They also did a great job walking me through our options, all procedures he needed, and after care instructions, all while I was arguably at my absolute worst (sorry for that again). They treated me with kindness and understanding, and took the utmost best care for my doggo. They've also been great in helping me with the recovery process, allowing me to send them pictures of Maxwell's stitches, poop, you name it, and helping me to calm down and realize that everything is okay and his recovery is going well! The care they showed my dog (and the way he was absolutely stoked to go back and see them yesterday) was more than I have ever expected from a vet, and my words can not express the overwhelming amount of gratitude I have in my heart for everyone that works there! You guys are the best, and I will forever be taking all of my pets here in case of emergencies, as well as letting every other fur parent know that this is the place to go! Experiencia negativa: Our dog recently got into the bathroom trash can and we suspected he may have eaten a tampon - after rushing him to this emergency clinic, we informed the front staff of what happened. Rather than walking us through our options (x-rays, induce vomiting, at home monitoring, ect.), they quickly took our dog and told us they’d induce vomiting. We reiterated that we weren’t sure if he had eaten anything in the trash and asked if the x-ray would be more appropriate, to which they responded it was “our choice.” We decided to x-ray. Once the vet visited us in the waiting room, she shared that he must’ve eaten dinner recently so they couldn’t tell whether there was a foreign object in his stomach or if it was just food…. They offered to keep him overnight or let us take him home and monitor him. We decided to take him home. Had we known the food would mess with the images taken from the x-ray, we would’ve reconsidered taking him into the emergency vet in the first place. They could’ve done a lot more on the front end of walking us step by step through our options rather than rushing our dog to the back of the building and charging rather high rates for treatment. The next day we took him to our normal vet who explained how to manage this more effectively moving forward (look for signs and symptoms - vomit, shivering, pain around the abdomen, diarrhea, constipation, etc.). We had asked this emergency vet to send their x-ray images to our vet so we could retake images for comparison, which they did not do. Experiencia fantástica: We have taken our Nakia to Northside Emergency Clinic several times now. The staff is always understanding and professional. We visited there on Monday, 11 December. Even though a wait time of 3 hours was posted on the wall, they were able to examine our kitty within about 45 minutes. Though the time turnarounds are not always rapid because of the high volume of pets in dire need of help, the service is always considerate. I have one important suggestion that is about the outside of the facility. The driveway into Northside Emergency Pet Clinic needs to be well lit. As it is now, there are *no* lights or even a lit sign at the entrance to their parking lot from 124th Avenue. All of our visits to the clinic have been at night, and it is difficult to identify the driveway into the parking lot. Please, Please, Please, install some LIGHTS in the entry way. Several businesses on 124th have very good lighting, take a note from their setup and install lights. Thanks.

Experiencia positiva: Our cat came home with an eye injury and we had to rush her to unfortunately have it removed. They took her and I was able to pick her up about 4 hours after I dropped her off. Dr. Moody did a fantastic job on her eye. Even though she only has one now, she’s still her normal self and don’t have any doubts she will make a full recovery! Thank you again for doing such a quick and beautiful job! The only reason I’m giving a 4 instead of a 5 was when I went to pick her up, I felt judged by the people at the front desk. I understand that allowing house cats outside is frowned upon. I didn’t know any better and my cat was thriving. We all learned a huge lesson through this horrible event and I was very sad and feeling guilty. When the front desk asked what happened, I mentioned she was an outdoor cat and they both looked like they hated me for allowing her to go outside unsupervised. They were not rude, didn’t say anything mean, but I guess I felt every inch of their judgment through those stares. It was like kicking me while I was already down. I’m sure you deal with all sorts of people on a daily basis. I don’t know what to suggest other than to try and keep a neutral face when hearing things you don’t agree with. Thank you. Side note: she is no longer allowed outside without supervision. Slowly adjusting to her new life and will have leashed walks like the dog she thinks she is.

Experiencia fantástica: They were super friendly and honest with me about what was going to happen to Luna even though I lost her I'm glad they told me that I made the right decision even if it was a hard one that broke my heart as well as my kid's heart as well thank you for not lying to me.

Experiencia fantástica: They were awesome!! My 12 week old puppy had an ear infection. They were very concerned about him entering as he does not have all of his shots yet. Brought my paperwork to the car and then came back out and got. Came out again and we carried straight to a room. Very friendly and left with meds. Very reasonable cost for emergency visit.
