He watched how I hold/cuddle her and does the same, he gets down on the floor with her and while she’s not thrilled to be there she’s not trembling or scared to death of him. It’s a completely different experience for her than with any other vet who’s ever seen/treated her. Thank you Dr. Ramsey for your kindness and compassion for the pets you treat!

Even when we've had to say goodbye to our furbabies they have always made it the least painful as possible. The entire care team are amazing and caring doctors and techs!!! We saw Dr Ramsey for the 1st time on this yearly well visit. I cannot say enough good things. He was absolutely wonderful! Our girl was completely comfortable with him and could not stop kissing him!

Update Over the past few months, Dr. Mathew Patrick has been amazing helping us with the health issues of our 13 year old cat... B-Moo [our cat] was the G.O.A.T. when it comes to our cats... he will always be the one others will be compared to. Many thanks to Dr. M Patrick and Dr. C. Ramsey, as well as the great staff at Patrick Veterinary Clinic for great care and amazing compassion. They are the best!!!! Update 9/2025 Went today for a follow up for our oldest doberman. The people that work at Patrick are very friendly and very attentive. It honestly reminds me of the show. Cheers where everyone knows your name. Now I know they can see the schedule and who's coming in at one time. But several of the people I said hello, to pixie, or to me directly, and even a couple of them came to the waiting room to say, hello. Reminds me a lot of a small town vet. Keep up the great work

Experiencia negativa: I've always been very satisfied with Patrick Vet. For all of my cats throughout the last few years. I trusted them, they were always gentle and compassionate, but in the last year I haven't been impressed. First I noticed scheduling issues. I confirmed via their texting platform a certain date and time for one of my appointments, and somehow the time magically changed where I ended up being late when I showed up at the office. And they assured me I had the time incorrect. Thankfully I had the automated text saved, and they were wrong. The time was correct on my end. Not sure if anyone else has had trouble with this, but I'd go ahead and be sure to confirm with the front office for appointments as well as with the automated texts. Second is the true reason for my one star review. Just this past week I took my indoor/outdoor cat into Patrick (without an appointment) because she was showing mild signs of paralysis in her hind end. They graciously fit her in to be seen. I never spoke to a doctor when we arrived. The Vet tech spoke to me in the waiting room briefly and took her to the back. They said they'd be in touch later in the day. The vet called as promised. They told me all of her vitals were normal. They took an Xray and noticed that her stomach was abnormally full and told me she just maybe ate something that will eventually leave her system. They put her on fluids and offered to keep her overnight for my own peace of mind which I accepted (They never offered to do bloodwork which I think is slightly odd). A vet tech called the next morning and said she was showing signs of improvement and that I could take her home later in the afternoon. I picked her up as directed, and when I let her out of her carrier, she was 200% worse at least. She was swimming across the floor on her stomach and lost all ability to walk on all 4 limbs. She tried to eat but was unable and she also urinated on herself within 10 minutes of being home. I rapidly called Patrick back to discuss my concerns and the vet tech assured me she had improved over the day before and to just confine her to a small space and to call in 2 days to give them an update. After hanging up the phone it took me about 30 seconds to put her back in the crate and rush her to the Emergency Vet. She was triaged right away, upon arrival. In the end, My sweet angel passed away 2 days later from rapid neurological decline and heart failure. It was quick & tragic. Her body is in the process of getting an autopsy for further testing to hopefully rule out anything that could be contagious to my 2 other cats. Although most likely it was Bromethalin Poisoning. A neurotoxin found in some rat poisons. Also note that the Vet at Patrick said it wasn't Rat poison since Rat poison is an anticoagulant. Maybe he should do his research because Bromethalin (a somewhat new ingredient on the market being used in rat poison now) is in fact a Neurotoxin that is tasty and a rapid killer to cats. If I knew that this product existed, My cat would have become on indoor cat 100% a long time ago. I'm not saying that Patrick could have saved her life. But the dismissiveness and lack of concern was prevalent. They didn't seem to care about her well being and future. They never thought to do bloodwork to get more answers. They weren't proactive at all in my opinion. Their bed side manner was nonexistent. Maybe they favor Dogs over Cats? And I never spoke to a vet in person. The only people I spoke to was the vet tech that took her from me in the waiting room and the other vet tech that handed her off to me in the waiting room. We never once saw an exam room together. For Shots and routine things sure, Go to Patrick. For any type of sickness or any level of emergency, I'd suggest going else where. My other 2 cats are no longer patients of Patrick as of recent. I requested all of their records be emailed to me after I gave Patrick the call update they requested on my cat. Which was SUPER fun to tell them she died. :( I still have yet to receive said Records. Super disappointed.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot share enough good things about Patrick Vet. After moving to Charleston, I was referred to Patrick Vet by a friend in the area for my 9 year old lab. No matter the technician or doctor we saw, they were all extremely compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding across the board. As someone fresh out of college working my first job, they were extremely transparent on pricing and always confirmed with me before proceeding with anything extra which was nice to know exactly how much everything would cost instead of being shocked when checking out like most other places I’ve been and felt taken advantage of when they tacked something on that I certainly did not need. After a year of going to Patrick vet for normal checkups, heartworm meds, and any health concerns that would come up, my dog developed an extremely aggressive form of bone cancer. When I found the mass, they saw him that same day and scheduled a biopsy procedure for that next day. After discovering it was cancerous, they referred me to a trusted oncology center for his treatment. Unfortunately, the treatment did not work and the cancer came back so we had to put him down. I traditionally have always brought in someone to put my dogs down at home in the comfort of their own space, but my dog loved Patrick vet and so did I so we opted to go there to put him down and they were truly amazing and so compassionate through the entire process. I cannot thank the staff enough for the compassion, transparency, and genuine love for animals that they showed. I certainly will be continuing to bring my future animals here!

Our vet office at the time met us with zero compassion and direction so I stumbled upon Patrick Vet. They were so kind and informative. We transferred over to them for our veterinary needs immediately. Since then, they have respectfully helped us say goodbye to our other senior after years of quality care that ensured his last few years were comfortable. They continue to care for our third senior dog. She is a frequent visitor and the techs and her vet know her by name. They took the time to create a health plan for her so she is aging wonderfully. My dog loves going to the vet and that's saying something.

Experiencia negativa: I took my cat McCormick there because he wasn’t eating or using the bathroom. They did some blood work and prescribed an oral medication for two weeks. After that, they told me to come back for more blood work. A week and a half later, McCormick was eating even less, losing weight, and still not using the bathroom. I told them I had to stop the medication because it was clearly making him worse. Their only solution was to keep him on the same medicine the one that caused all the side effects to get worse in the first place. I paid for another round of that medication but didn’t give it to him. Instead, I took him to All Creatures, explained everything while crying my eyes out, and they immediately felt a large lump on his body during a basic physical exam. Something Patrick’s completely missed. All Creatures confirmed with an x-ray that it was a tumor. They gave me special food to help him eat again and treated me with such care and compassion. The doctor there even shared her own personal experience of losing a pet, and it meant so much to feel seen in that moment. I’m devastated that my baby had cancer that went unnoticed for almost a month because Patrick’s never did a full exam or offered an x-ray. I will never go back to Patrick’s, and I’ll warn anyone I can to do the same. All Creatures, on the other hand, I can’t thank enough for helping me through the hardest time.

Courtney, one of the techs, specifically is immensely kind and deserves all of the kudos. A couple years ago my girl had an injured knee and Courtney was very supportive, and when we came in for our annual visit today she had remembered my girl Honey and exactly what happened with her knee. I could hear her sweet talking honey while she went back for her vaccines and keeping her calm during her visit. Love this whole team, but Courtney deserves a shout out!!

They provided tender, loving care to ensure she’d have a safe and comfortable flight home. Jimmy answered my phone call and provided a timely appointment for our visit. All of the staff were extremely friendly. Pebbles is now comfortably settled in her new home thanks to the amazing staff at Patrick Vet Clinic.

The technicians helped guide my 80 lb dog around since she hurt her knee. She is not a fan of the vet, but everyone was so kind and caring towards her. The prices are insanely affordable. I didn't feel like I had to compromise on care due to money issues. I was given so many options and a referral to a specialist. I am glad I've found my new favorite vet practice!

I felt as though I was getting over charged at a separate local clinic and was pleased at how transparent and affordable they are. We were seen by Dr. Ramsey and Deven and I couldn’t be happier with the care we received. Experiencia negativa: Go to ANY OTHER VET. They are too busy to give individualized care. Please trust me on that!!! Maybe at one point this team of doctors and nurses cared, but that is not the case anymore. If your dog is actually sick they won't notice. They will even potentially stop you from getting the care your dog actually needs by downplaying their symptoms. Your pets time is valuable and they deserve someone who's actually paying attention. Since leaving and getting a new primary care provider I have realized how life changing a compassionate veterinarian can be. Do not be fooled by the good reviews. Patricks is not reaching the standard. Their apathy and neglect will forever haunt my dog and I.

Experiencia negativa: This is my first bad review and it comes because I genuinely believe I'm doing a public service. Do not go to Patrick's Vet. As someone who has been taking my dog here for 4+ years I did so because of the hype, proximity to my home, and fair pricing. I'm genuinely ashamed of myself for not advocating for my dog, and blindly believing the doctors would know what was best for him. I thought Patrick's was quality and cost effective, but it's really just fast and impersonal. After my last couple of visits, I can say they didn't care enough to notice/look at their data and see that my dog is severely ill. I trusted they were doing all they could, and have since learned of the neglect. The clinic is simply too busy to provide individualized care, and that has devastating consequences. I wrote out a lengthy explanation of my last three visits. But it is too long to be apart of a google review. I will happily give these details to anyone upon request. But basically I brought my dog Silas to Patrick's after he began vomiting. While he was there I explained he was puking, lethargic, losing weight, and visibly unwell. His tests showed very high white blood cells, but Dr. Patrick brushed it off as likely infection and prescribed antibiotics. He even suggested a costly thyroid test that, in hindsight, had little basis. He also performed an X -ray that "seemed normal". After his puking persisted I scheduled another appointment with Dr. Bolen. The thing about Patrick's you will always get a different doctor and it's clear they don't communicate with one another. His best suggestion to me was to take my dog to the ER to get an ultrasound they couldn't provide. He promised to send over Silas's blood work and X-rays they'd done. Naturally they didn't and delayed his urgent care by nearly an hour. Every medical professional at the ER was shocked by this. They had to call and request his records so many times, only to be met with irritation from the staff when they were the ones in the wrong. This is when I began to realize Patrick's did not care about my dog's care. The contrast at VEG Emergency was staggering. From the moment we arrived, Silas was treated with compassion, urgency, and thoroughness. The ER vets immediately recognized how alarming his bloodwork and X-rays were, ****results Patrick’s doctors had either downplayed or completely overlooked****. They called in specialists the same day to perform an ultrasound unlike Patrick's who had been seeing Silas for years. They found an inflamed lymph node in his leg. We got a cytology done and are awaiting pathologist confirmation. But unfortunately they felt pretty confident after looking themselves he has Lymphoma. Their attentiveness and empathy made me realize just how much Patrick’s had failed him. His blood work, X-ray, skin condition, weight loss, vomiting, and lethargy ALL explained his diagnosis and ALL of this information was overlooked and disregarded by Patrick's vet team. As we navigate the most difficult time in our lives we have to do so under a new primary care veterinarian and oncologist. It breaks my heart that my dog’s serious condition was missed despite multiple visits, obvious symptoms, and test results pointing to something severe. Patrick’s Vet failed to communicate, to work as a team, and most importantly, to show the compassion every pet deserves. For routine care on a healthy pet, Patrick’s might be fine. But if your animal is ever truly sick, you need a vet who will notice the signs, take action, and treat your pet as more than just another appointment in a packed schedule. My hope is that Patrick’s uses this as a wake-up call. No success or best of awards on the wall can make up for a system that doesn’t prioritize communication, compassion, and proper medical attention. I encourage all of you to recognize how important the vet you pick for your pet is. They are innocent treasures and their care is your responsibility. They are your family. It can't be taken lightly.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve been taking our two dogs here for the last year. My experience so far has been very good Today my dogs saw a doctor that they haven’t seen before - Dr.Tony Bolen. From the moment he entered the room he was not kind. He was cold, blunt and condescending. One of my dogs does not like being restrained and had to have blood drawn. I agreed to muzzle him but my dog became extremely stressed. Eventually I said we’re done and took off the muzzle. Again, he was not friendly or kind to me or my pet. He just walked out. I don’t know what was going on in his life maybe he just had a bad day. I will not see this doctor again though and asked the receptionist to put that on the chart so they won’t schedule visits with him anymore. Everyone else here has been great up until now.

Experiencia fantástica: We absolutely love this place. They showed great care for our lil man cat. Knowledgeable regarding his issues. Vet tech was wonderful with him. He usually isn't that great with females but he didn't hiss or claw at her. The doctor was understanding as to what needed to be done. Lil man didn't even feel the shot which relieved a lot of my stress. I highly recommend Patrick Vet Clinic. The whole staff was awesome. We will be back.
