Experiencia fantástica: THIS Review Still Stands!! The Care that was Taken of My Cat OREO Was Outstanding!!! I'd only been to your facility 1 time and that was to make an appointment for my furbaby, Oreo. The ladies at the desk were Very Cordial and Professional and it was a Pleasure to have that kind of discussion with them. When I arrived, Sarah brought me with Oreo, in his carrier to an exam room. She was Very Gentle with him and once he had a towel wrapped around him, he was more sedentary. She literally treated him with kit gloves and he was very good, to my surprise because not being around other people much less this environment he is quite skittish. He had 1 paw trimmed but he didn't like the other touched, hissed and scratched a tech who was trying to cut his claws. When we were leaving I was shocked that Sarah actually held Oreo in His Carrier and put him/the carrier in the front seat of my car at my request. What a Great 1st time experience!!! Thank you All!!! I was there After you were Highly Recommended to me and Now I will Reciprocate and Continue to Highly Recommend You!!!! Thank You Again!!! What a Great 1st time Experience!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I used to travel healthcare before moving to Charleston, and my sweet baby has seen a handful of vets in her four years. My dog is prone to ear infections, and about twice a year on top of her routine visits, we come here to have her treated. She is not the easiest pup, for the workers reading this, I am referring to my pug, Nellie. The vet isn’t her most favorite place on Earth, but you guys do such a wonderful job with her, and I know it’s not easy. I just wanted to say that if you are considering coming here for your vet care, please do. All of the staff is wonderful and incredible. I want to especially shout out Hailey (I hope I spelled your name correctly). Hailey is the BEST tech I have ever encountered. She deserves the credit she gives. She is personable, professional, kind beyond belief. She does a fantastic job.

Experiencia negativa: This clinic is shamelessly overcharging people. I called for a simple quote on a teeth cleaning and possible extraction, and they came back with $2,500. Absolutely absurd. I decided to check with my previous vet in Arkansas, and they quoted $180–$300 total, depending on the difficulty of the extraction. That kind of price gap is beyond unreasonable — it’s predatory. There’s no justification for charging that much for a routine procedure. I’d strongly advise anyone considering this place to get a second opinion before handing over a dime.

Experiencia fantástica: I started taking my elderly dog to these folks about a year ago. They were kind, compassionate and most of all professional and highly communicative. Last weekend, I called early on Sat morning because Maggie had a horrible night and was in obvious pain. They got me right in, Dr Herron did a complete physical and we discussed the options which were limited. I decided to end Maggie's pain and Dr Herron and her assistant were terrific. While not the 1st time I've had to say goodbye to a dog I'd had for many years, they worked hard to make the process as comfortable to Maggie and I as possible. These guys are the best!

Experiencia negativa: They are terrible! Bees ferry veterinarian is not good anymore since they were bought by a big conglomerate. There is no continuity of care and they push unnecessary procedures and medications that can be costly. For example, I have a new puppy who already had a comprehensive test on his stool however, they requested another one to be done by them. I found a new Veterinary practice and took my puppy in with a stool sample and to get another vaccine that bees ferry said could be done early. Our new Veterinary practice said the stool sample was not needed as it is done yearly unless there are problems additionally the Vet was not comfortable giving another vaccine early. I had been with Bees Ferry for 7 years prior to this fall out. We never had any problems in those 7 years. Many of my neighbors have also left this practice. What is truly unforgivable is They wrote horrible things about me in the progress notes that caused a smaller practice who originally was happy to take my pets before they read a very damning report that was not 100% true. This note was written with emotion not facts and it was mean spirited. Thankfully I found a small practice that does not have to follow a large conglomerates rules which are not always in the best interest of the client and their pets. They are also over priced now. I would advise against using this veterinary practice.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Snider is thorough with her exams and really cares for the fur babies brought in. I trust Bees Ferry for my pet needs. I love the house coordinator they have added to the practice. She takes the stress away from the cliet by helping you get things taken care of, like finding a place that carries a pet med, or even a compounding pharmacy when your pets dose dosen't exist. It is a real relief when you are overwhelmed and consumed with a sick pet.

Experiencia fantástica: We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. All receive their vet care from BFV. We’ve been going there for about 20 years and they provide caring and very competent care. Some of our pets have had serious health challenges and BFV has successfully directed their care and recovery. We also board our 3 dogs there and the staff provides attentive and loving care.

Experiencia positiva: I was debating on whether to rate this facility with three or four stars, but decided to go with four. I’ll try not to make this review too lengthy, so I’ll start with the pros. 1. The location is great. It’s not far from where I live and down the street from the CVRC in case there are any emergencies. 2. The hours. I appreciate how they offer appointments after working hours and weekends. 3. The staff is friendly. 4. They offer boarding. I found this beneficial as they should have my pet’s records on file and it’s comforting that there are vets nearby just in case. 5. Online booking. For the most part, it’s just easier to log in online and book an appointment as opposed to calling. Cons: 1. They don’t approve prescriptions from places like Chewy or communicate with pet insurance. I was told by two people there that they have a lot of patients and it would be difficult for them to do, but so do other clinics that does online approvals. I have to physically mail my pet’s flea and tick prevention meds which was pretty inconvenient. 2. I’m a little concerned about how my pet’s visits and medications are being documented. I try to visit the same vet for any follow-ups to avoid explaining whatever the situation is, but I understand seeing the same vet isn’t always possible. However, I sometimes get thrown off with some of the questions I’m asked regarding my pet’s previous visits and wondered why it wasn’t documented. Last time I was there, I saw a sign posted on the wall saying conversations were being recorded to improve comms/documentation. I sincerely hope it’s helping. 3. Boarding is closed on Sundays. Staff is there to tend to your pets that day, but it can be a little inconvenient when you can’t pick up your pet and have to pay for an extra night. 4. Time waiting in the lobby and the time it takes to complete an appointment. I understand when treating pets, it may take a little extra time and I wouldn’t want to cut any corners. But since appointments take more than hour, I can’t schedule them during the day since I work. This is why I have to schedule after working hours. No place is going to be perfect, but what’s important to me is my pet’s care. There is definitely room for improvement and I hope this review provides some constructive feedback.

To clarify, we do process Chewy prescription requests; however, it is the responsibility of Chewy to submit and manage those requests appropriately. While we always aim to be responsive, we must prioritize in-house patient care and the management of prescriptions dispensed directly through our clinic.
We also place a strong emphasis on both continuity of care and accurate documentation. While we encourage consistency with your pet’s primary doctor, we are fortunate to have a team of doctors who are committed to stepping in and providing excellent care when scheduling or availability requires a different provider.
Regarding boarding: while our staff is present on Sundays to care for boarding pets, we do not allow client pick-ups on Sundays for safety reasons and in accordance with regulations related to building security and controlled substances.
Lastly, we do take great pride in delivering thorough and comprehensive care, which can require additional time during appointments. We fully appreciate the scheduling challenges this can create and are continually evaluating ways to balance efficiency with the quality of care.

Experiencia fantástica: It has taken me months to finally write this, but I cannot thank and recommend the Bees Ferry Vet Staff enough for their time and care for my sweet soul cat, Mittens. He was with me for 14 amazing years, but sadly got very sick very quickly in the last week of his life. He was put to rest in March of 2024, and the staff really helped me through the most devastating possible situation. They even sent me a package a few weeks after that included a letter with all their names signed, an ink print of Mitty’s nose, and a clay print of his paw. That was an extra mile that made me feel so loved and cared for as I grieved. You can genuinely feel that these people care about all pets and their clients. Thank you again, you all went above and beyond to make me and Mitty comfortable through that dark time. We have two cats now and we will not take them anywhere else as long as we live in the area! :)

Experiencia negativa: One of our pups was treated for an ear infection (meds sent home & told we needed to schedule a deep cleaning of the ear with a different Dr office in Mt. Pleasant.) After our visit we received a text mesg asking how the dog was doing. We called and explained that the ear was not better yet, explained the ear cleaning had been scheduled but was 4 weeks out and asked how to proceed if the ear got worse before we could get to the cleaning. We received a typed up mesg from the Dr basically telling us there was nothing she could do. She insisted the dog had to be off all meds prior to the consult at the other office she was referring us to for 4 weeks. We contacted the ear cleaning Dr and verified with them that our dog could be on meds up until 48 hours before the consult (they were not even performing the cleaning that day it was a consultation) and tried to share this with Bees Ferry but they basically left us hanging. The Dr at Bees Ferry never called us to try and explain verbally, nobody at the front desk ever followed up on med refill requests and the front desk staff was rude. When our dogs ear did get worse we called again as this has been our primary and we assumed they'd always be our vet. While explaining the situation we were in the receptionist was rude so I apologized for whatever I had done and asked why they were so irritated at us and she replied that she was not being rude just "blunt". There's definitely some communication issues here & a feeling that they do not need or want the business. To only get texts & typed messages can get confusing. To call for help or clarification & be treated so "bluntly" is frustrating. To have a dog visibly in pain and to ask the vet we've been seeing for over a year for help or guidance on how to care for our dog until we could get into the ear cleaning Dr and get no empathy or follow thru is strange, unprofessional and in no way does this show a compassion for animals. We would have done anything, spent any amount of money to get our dog comfortable until she sees the other Dr. in 2 weeks but they would not help us. We ended up going to a different vet, explaining the situation, paid for cytology, etc. and the dog is now on meds which we will stop 2 days prior to the ear cleaning consultation. and now we have to find a new primary vet for our family of dogs - what a bad experience. *** We were never offered a follow up appointment to re-check & get any refills of medication - that's kind of the entire point of this and why we had to call several times.

I took him here they welcomed him with open arms the staff went out of they way to insure he was completely comfortable and assured him he was going to be ok . Experiencia fantástica: I was in a pickle to get my dog certified to travel internationally. Made an appointment with my vet and come to find out they weren't certified. They recommended bees Ferry Veterinary and when I called they got me an appointment the next day as the dog was flying in two days. They were very accommodating and very nice to deal with. They kept me informed of every step and did so very graciously. If they weren't so far away from my home I would be switching vets for my three dogs for sure!

Experiencia negativa: It’s been over a month of reflection and I am still very angry about the care my Cat received here. If you don’t have pet insurance or a few grand, do not bring your love one here for an emergency. In my opinion, they do not care about the comfort or the life of your pet, just the money in your pocket. My sweet boy isn’t with us anymore and I feel like with a little kindness and immediate intervention, he would be. I wish Bees Ferry Vet bad Karma and business in the future. And just to be clear, I did drain my bank account for immediate care, but they wouldn’t do anything further or bill me for anymore services once I was out of money.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been taking our dogs and cats to Bee's Ferry for years. Our pets who are part of our family have always been given the best care. We have moved to Summerville but would never think of changing to a different clinic. Dr Hardymon has been very good at helping us take care of our sweet babies who both have health issues. The front staff always greets us with smiles and the techs are always making sure to make our babies feel comfortable and safe when they are not feeling their best.

Experiencia negativa: Unprofessional and inadequate care potentially costing my cat his life. I took my four year old cat in for a dermal mass that had formed on his side. They scheduled me for a surgery a few weeks out and gave me antibiotics and pain medication and instruction. I followed all of this, showed up and dropped him off on his surgery date. I get a call 30 minutes later saying the surgery can not be done. It’s too big. Left with no solution. I took him to emergency vet immediately after and the surgery is something they can actually do. I don’t know how this vet isn’t qualified to perform what they say they can do and still be considered a professional. Well now, this surgery is over $5000. I can’t afford that. My cat is in a position to lose his life because of the inadequate care, irresponsibility and unprofessionalism from this business. They are here for your money guys. If you are need of serious care for your pet, DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. I’m crying while writing this because I’m losing my best friend soon. This could’ve been handled properly when I first visited a few weeks ago. I followed their instruction and here I am. DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL.

If you would like to discuss your kitty in more detail we can but please understand that these recommendations were made with your cat's health in mind. The mass was allowed to grow large enough that a board certified surgeon was required for removal. There is a difference in what surgeries a general practioner should be perfoming versus a surgeon. We truly only wanted the best for you and your cat.

Experiencia fantástica: Saturday I placed a call to BF Veterinary Hospital for my sick Shih Tzu. An appointment was given immediately . I was so pleased as it was the weekend. The appointment went very smoothly from reception to seeing the Doctor. The staff was kind, caring and professional. I truly appreciated all they did for my little girl. She's on the road to recovery. Thank you BFVH!

Experiencia negativa: Although some very sweet and kind people work here, overall it's an absolute joke of a vet. Consistently increased pricing well above market-average throughout the roughly 2 years I took my dog there. We once had to wait well over an hour in the waiting room when I had previously advised them that my dog is anxiety-riddled and doesn't like to sit in those environments long-term. The final straw was booking an appointment 21 days in advance, taking the Vacation day off from work, having them send me FOUR appointment confirmation messages only for the day to come and them reach out 3hr before the appointment to say they needed to reschedule. I have no clue why I stayed around so long with them when there's much more affordable vets in West Ashley that offer way better care.

I assure you that our prices and wait times meet industry standards, even though we volunteer to meet above average standards as an AAHA certified hospital. If you ever want to learn more about this please let us know as evaluating industry standard pricing involves many variables. As you can see from most of our five star reviews that our clients and patients tend to have good experiences. We recently had a doctor that became very sick the day of your appointment. We never want to do that but please understand that we were doing our best to care for our doctor and make the changes as needed. Experiencia fantástica: My puppy has been going to them since we brought him home and he honestly gets excited when he realizes that where we are going. I chose them initially because they had great reviews and multiple doctors which makes me feel good can easily get multiple opinions, and additionally, I work in healthcare as well so night and weekend hours are amazing for me. I’m super glad I went with them. My pup had swallowed fabric I called them and they literally saw him immediately despite having a fully clinic schedule. He has also had several bouts of gastroenteritis and they have gotten him in quickly and expediently, taken care of the issue. The doctors are well versed and everyone takes care of my puppy so well, they know him and say hi and everyone is genuinely happy to see him and treats him with such care and respect! Super accommodating, very helpful. AND one of the most amazing parts is they have a texting service. If I’m concerned I shoot them a text and they run it by the doc and get back to me on next steps. I drive from folly beach all the way to see them (30-45min drive depending on traffic) and I will continue to do so bc it’s worth it. I cannot highly recommend them enough!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Best Vet staff I’ve ever worked with. All staff was very pleasant. Dr. Hardymon is wonderful! This is my first experience with Bees Ferry Veterinary Hospital and I can say I am definitely going to keep coming back for my kitties’ needs.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently established care here and couldn’t be happier. Such an incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable staff. They are a Fear Free clinic which is so great for my reactive breed dog who used to be terrified of going to the vet. My dog would literally have to be carried in because he would refuse to walk into a vet’s office. He started out nervous and once he met Leah (best vet tech EVER!, so warm-hearted and genuine) he calmed down. Dr. Hardymon is also wonderful and compassionate. The entire team was so thorough it actually took me off guard in a good way. I can’t recommend Dr. H and her team enough. To people complaining about prices, this clinic is extremely competitive with their costs. It’s not cheap to run a clinic and if you’re going to own a pet get insurance. It’s a game changer. It’s such a relief to have finally found a veterinary clinic my dog is comfortable with!

Experiencia fantástica: Went to my regular vet very close to this place and they treated me and my sick dog with zero respect. I called Bees Ferry who is right down the street. They got me in same day to help me. Treated my dog and their prices are way less expensive. Sarah was so sweet and the vet did a full exam and treated my dog without trying to upsale me. The front end staff just as kind and accommodating. Everything happens for a reason. Glad to be in a better place for my babies! Thank you Bees Ferry Vet!

Experiencia fantástica: Bees ferry veterinarian is 200% gooby approved. We've been using bees ferry as our veterinarian since 2005. They have watched many of our pups grow from little nuggets all the way until their journey to the rainbow road. They have some of the most compassionate people we have ever met. I have never felt rushed during an appointment, they are willing to listen to every concern, or goofy question I ask. I will now and forever recommend bees ferry vet and continue to bring my fur babies.
