Experiencia negativa: I appreciate the low price but I came in for wellness Wednesday and ended up waiting from 9am to past 2:15pm. It was torture and a lot of work to keep my pet calm. Please find somewhere else to go. I was told upon entering it would only take 2 hours but clearly not. I wish there were more affordable and AVAILABLE vets in Ohio since they are clearly extremely busy.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is awe some i have some feral cats out in my backyard and garage, a mama cat had 5 kittens last January. I got them fixed and relocated before i could catch her through the summer. It was hard to do. She was pregnant again and delivered 2 more babies. Went to cat welfare? Got vouchers. Mamma cat fix for $20. One babie is fixed one more to fix, they are a blessing, wonderful bunch of people. But it a process but it's worth it

Experiencia fantástica: My dog needed an enucleation and they were able to provide the needed care quickly. Please be patient with staff as they are SUPER busy on surgery days (probably all days) during drop off times. Would recommend staff reminding dog owners to bring current vaccination records prior to drop off. Thanks for taking care of Ellie.

Experiencia fantástica: Our Mella had prolonged estrus due to being in heat and we don't have a lot of money but they took good care of her and fixed her hernia, they make you feel like you paid a million bucks the way they take care of your fur babies.

Experiencia fantástica: They've done everything for my cat Dean and I trust this place a lot. When he showed up on my doorstep on a Wednesday as a stray back in August and I didn't know where to go on a Wednesday to get him veterinary attention, this was the best place I could have been told to take him. Yes, I was last in line to check in that day and I had to wait a few hours, but if you have the time of day it will save you on the vet bill. He had to have surgery to drain an abscess and antibiotics which was very reasonably priced for a surgery compared to what it would have been at a non low cost vet hospital and they were able to schedule him in the following day and since then he's been doing so much better with his face finally healing up. The staff here are very kind and understanding, and they always treated Dean with respect, and I can't thank this place more for being so accessible and affordable when he needed help. Coming in early on a Wednesday around 8am once the line starts for Wellness Wednesdays has worked well for me and Dean when he's been seen ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: I made my appointment in February, I had it September 8th. Was a long wait, but it was very affordable, was crowded that day,but they did a pretty good job getting everything together. My kitty made a full recovery after being spayed. Im very grateful. I appreciate the people who bring us these organizations. Thank you all very much,also my kitty bity bits said thank you as well..

Experiencia negativa: Was referred to this place by cat welfare. Went to Wednesday clinic and after waiting 3 hours (was registered at 8:15 and left at 11:20) Paid $250 to have them pull my cat's tooth that was abscessed and she came home with pus oozing out of both eyes and they chopped her whiskers on the one side of her face instead of just moving them out of the way so she couldn't barely walk or even sit upright. I was reassured repeatedly that she would be able to eat just fine (she was already missing her front teeth on the other side of her mouth) and she couldn't eat. Multiple times in the 3 days following the surgery she would lay down with her face in the water out food. She tried to eat the special food we bought at the clinic for $6 a can and it was super soft and she couldn't even eat a golf ball size portion of food. Most of it was on her face when she tried to eat. I tried everything to help her eat including putting pureed food and clean water in syringes used for infant medicine but I couldn't save her and she died early this morning, less than a week after she was seen there. To say I am heartbroken and really upset is an understatement. The photos are from just 3 weeks ago. UPDATE: since I can't figure out how to reply to the owner's response I am updating my review to respond..... The veterinarian examined my cat physically and stated that all of her organs seemed to be fine and it was going to be another $200 plus dollars for blood work. So I trusted that the vet was being honest after examining her. At no point did anyone tell us how long we would have to wait to have her seen, and there were people taken before us that registered behind us because I was talking to them in line and knew they came in behind us. When I asked about this I had a very rude technician respond to me that the clipboards are put up and they just take them in order and so if it was put up in the wrong order they couldn't do anything about it. The young lady that took us back to the room and did the initial weigh-in and questioning treated us like we were horrible people and acted like we were liars when we said she had lost half of her body weight in 2 weeks and we didn't know why. This is proven by the pictures and we didn't appreciate being treated this way. I'm sorry that I don't have $200 + dollars to do blood work. I could have taken her to my own veterinarian had I known the prices were going to be virtually the same at this non-profit organization and at least I would have known that she was being taken care of in a clean, sterilized facility. The veterinarian also stated that she was going to be doing the surgery for my cat the following day. The fact that she stayed late and did it that night was not what she told me she was going to do. Am I supposed to be ok with the fact that her whiskers were chopped, wrecking her balance and her coming home with infection in both eyes bc the vet stayed later and did the surgery when she was tired?? The vet and the 2 ladies at the front desk were the only ones who were kind and I do appreciate that but I wish she would have been honest with me when I asked about my cat being able to eat. I don't believe that she ate and drank before you sent her home because I watched her try to eat and she couldn't. Way to take some responsibility instead of trying to make it look like my fault.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty, she was a sweet girl and our staff really loved her. We are extremely open about the wait time for our Wellness Wednesday clinic as it is done on a walk-in basis so a 4-6 hour wait is not uncommon. Unfortunately, as mentioned during your appointment, your kitty had some severe ongoing health concerns but most diagnostic and treatment options were declined so it was impossible for us to know how her organs were responding to these health issues. Our staff still wanted to do everything they could to help your kitty though, so they stayed until 9pm that Wednesday night out of the kindness of their hearts to make sure she was ok. While I understand $250 is a lot of money it actually did not come anywhere near covering the costs of everything we did for her but we got into this field because we want to help and we work at a non-profit because we want to help even if it comes at the cost of our own well-being. So we stayed to help regardless of the finances. We ensured your kitty was eating and drinking prior to releasing her the next day and we never heard from you that she was not doing well. We were expecting her back for her recheck today, the very day you are posting this review. To anybody reading this, please regardless of where your pet is seen and what was wrong with them, if they have had any surgical procedure and are not doing well after the fact, call your vet to let them know!! I promise you they want to help. Many vets, including ourselves, will do post-op rechecks at no charge or a greatly reduced charge to ensure appropriate recovery and continuity of care. We wish you all the best during this difficult time, it is never easy to lose a loved one.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat got aspiration pneumonia from here. He is only 5 months old. He developed a cough 1-2 days after the surgery. I was super concerned about him so I brought him to my outside vet immediately. They did x-rays and found pneumonia has developed from the neuter assumed he aspirated after waking up from anesthesia so they started him on antibiotics. Everything was great once he finished his medication and he had no coughing fits for a few weeks. Just last week I noticed a cough come back and reached out to SOS, they were super responsive and helpful and got him in same day to get him checked. They did testing and ultimetly found out he has asthma and were super helpful and accommodating to us! I am so grateful since they also didn't make us pay out of pocket for this visit which helps us tremedously finacially as i am still in school and working minimally. Another bonus from this place is he had a complicated medication regimn and they measured out all the syringes and set it up for me which takes stress load off of starting him on a new medication. Thank you SOS for helping us we are soso appreciative of your help!

Experiencia fantástica: Even though the wait to get an appt is long, it's worth it. My cat's spay went well and we were able to get some vaccinations, etc. at an incredible price. The one recommendation I would make is to ensure your animal is flea treated prior to visiting. My indoor cat didn't have fleas before I took her to the appt, but after being there all day she came home with them. They treated her there, but still not a risk that's smart to take. I have 4 other animals, so flea prevention is a MUST! Friendly staff and service!

Experiencia fantástica: My 1st time bringing my Fur Babies; here & I have to say! WOW!♥️ For as small as this place is & small staff; They R ALL AMAZING♥️ You can tell that (EVERYONE) here;Loves Animals & have big ❤️ s!! They have cat homes/Shelter,for all the homeless,cats all along the outside of the bldg; under the awning;filled with Hay&food & water for them! Like WOW!! Even in the inside,cats roam everywhere It's a Beautiful & welcoming site! They are Very ORGANIZED & Great you with a positive attitude;smile & go over Everything with you! You do have to book your appointment in advance; I had a 6 month old appointment for my fur baby; So I was So, happy to have finally gotten my fur baby in! There was a wait; But it's to be expected ; And NO 1 should criticize it! Because they do handle a large amount of animals,EVERY DAY! And,in every conversation, weather by phone,text, email,or aßin person;etc; (Every Employee)stated that they have long wtg periods; so maybe bring something to drink or snacks to snack on; etc! Thank you; EVERYONE in ADVANCE @S.O.S. for helping ALL of us; with such ❤️ & big hearts & making it possible financially! The line might be long but if you don't want to pay too much just for a check up, this is the only place in Columbus I would go. I wish there are more like this on the westside also. Experiencia fantástica: SOS of Ohio did an amazing job with my dad's 2 year old husky mix. His dog was cryptorchid and needed an internal neuter as well as a rabies vaccination and microchip. The staff were amazing and super friendly and very kind and understanding of how his dog is with my dad and that he has issues with kennels. The facility was very clean professional everyone there took great care of the animals on the property as well as any clients that came in. The price of everything that we had done for my dad's dog was way less than we expected and very reasonable with the exceptional care that my dad's dog received. I will definitely be recommending anyone who has financial issues to definitely get their pets taken care of here if they are having a hard time paying for some of those procedures. Thank you for making it so people who are low income can still properly own pets and not have to pay an arm and a leg to care about their animals. We will definitely be back with one of our cats in the winter and will be bringing donations as well. Again thank you for being such an amazing staff and caring so much about all the animals you take care of and help.

Experiencia fantástica: I showed up to SOS for their walk in Wednesdays I got there at 9 and only had to wait about an hour. My cat had an infection in her uterus and they got me on the surgery schedule same day to take care of my sweet girl. I am forever grateful to every worker and student that puts in so much hard work to help out our community. These people really care about our animals and it truly shows. THANK YOU SOS

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing & so are all of the employees I have encountered. Every time I am there, the employees are always kind/caring. Thanks for everything you all do. You each are truly appreciated. We could NOT do this without you. ‍⬛ 13 in this feral colony.. I was able to get them used to my back porch to trap them during the winter. Experiencia fantástica: They have neutered 2 of male cats and gave one of my dogs her 3 year rabies. They were very kind. The only problem was I had to wait for 45 minutes to pay the bill because the front desk is extremely unorganized.

Experiencia fantástica: Hi my name is Joyce hall I do a cat rescue and adoption I have never ever meet nicer people and a veterinarian that carries more 11 more animals plus their kittens to get done I am very grateful for SOS they are a wonderful veterinarian the staff is so nice you can't ask for a nicer place in the stack of this place I give this place a five star if there was 100 Stars I would give this place 100 Stars if they had 100 Stars thank you guys for all the things that you have done for me and help me out with these animals if it wasn't for you I wouldn't know what I would do thank you SOS and the staff members thank you so much I'm very grateful see you guys tomorrow with bootsy boo

Experiencia negativa: I debated giving this one star but I felt like that was a little bit too rough of a rating because of the fact that my fluffy guy Chonkers thankfully is still here and he did heal well from the surgery that he was initially in for and seemed to be and not a lot of pain. But I had recently in the last year. Had lost two of my very close fur babies in very traumatic ways and one of them. I do not know the cause of her death and will never be able to find out due to not having the money for an autopsy and getting her cremated. I went online and made an appointment for her Uncle cat which we just got it a year and a half old to get him neutered. Everything went great for the most part and we went back in the morning and picked him up and he discharged just fine and his aftercare was amazing and he healed well. They did a great job on the surgery and did the surgery that he was intended to go in for. However, this is where I got. Very upset and I'm very sketched out with the professionalism of this clinic. I had gotten a brand new phone not too long after we had brought him in for his surgery and we were discharged. I think it was maybe 2 or 3 days after we picked him up, we live about an hour away from the clinic. Just a few days ago I had noticed that I had a missed voicemail that I didn't notice I had had from back when we picked him up from the clinic close to when I got my new phone and didn't notice that I had this voicemail until then. I opened the voicemail and I am being told that my chalkers was exposed to FPC and if he was showing any symptoms in which they did not State any symptoms I was supposed to be looking out for that I could bring him in to get treatment and they're sorry for any inconveniences that this would cause. Of course this threw me into a full-blown panic because I am searching up the fact that this could kill my chonkers within just a few days. At this point it had been a month but I was panic googling. The fact that he was even exposed to FPC is already a huge red flag because it's due to sharing food bowls and litter boxes and water bowls and kennels with other pets that could be infected. And for a surgery center, I find that pretty unacceptable, especially if you are not testing and vetting each cat before it comes into the clinic. Also, I find it extremely unprofessional that I am getting a single phone call with a single accompanying voicemail to tell me that your clinic due to your unprofessionalism is exposing my cat to a deadly virus that could take out my other cats in my home or God forbid. I went and took my cat to go see other cats in a colony and took all of them out as well because I got a single phone call without any other follow-up on if my chonkers was okay due to a deadly disease that you exposed him to. I got a single phone call. That's unacceptable. Please do better and please it seems like you are not cleaning correctly and having non -tested pets mingling with others knowing that this could kill within just a few days.

Hello, we apologize for unintentionally causing a panic. We were calling as a courtesy not because we thought your pet was directly exposed or would become ill. A cat that was in for surgery the same day as your pet came back to our clinic 10 days later testing positive for pan-leukopenia. This timeline meant there was a possibility the cat was shedding the virus while it was in our clinic despite being healthy on physical exam. Unfortunately this virus is spread even by animals that aren't showing symptoms. None of the animals presented for surgery at our facility have direct contact with one another and they do not share any dishes, bedding, etc. That being said this virus can be highly contagious and does not always require direct contact to spread so out of an abundance of caution we called all owners that had pets in that day to give them the heads up in the event their pet should develop any signs of illness. The symptoms for panleukopenia can start off very subtly and vary cat to cat which is why we asked people to bring their pet to us if they saw any signs of illness at all, rather than listing specific symptoms. Again, this call was made out of an abundance of caution and not because we believed your pet would get sick which is why we felt leaving a voicemail was suitable. We invite you or anybody else to tour our facility at anytime and are happy to discuss our cleaning protocols with anyone who asks. We follow the disinfectant protocols recommended by the ASPCA and stay current on our education so we can update protocols and products whenever new information comes out.

Experiencia negativa: I confided in this company to take care of my daughter‘s cat little body. I had explained to them a previous surgery failed. They gave me the reassurance that they could help her so the surgery went fine and the baby was perfect prior to surgery she was an indoor cat. She had no issues she was never around any other animals. A spay is a simple surgery that shouldn’t have any complications. I’ve had cats in the past. They had a spay and everything went fine. My daughter‘s cat was spayed. Surgery went fine. My sister‘s cat spay surgery went fine over the next couple of days my daughter‘s cat little body was very lethargic. She stopped eating, and she stopped drinking. Long story short come to find out the clinic called my daughter and told my daughter that her cat had been one of many animals that had come in contact with an animal at the clinic they had FPV, which is very contagious! I have emails corresponding back-and-forth of what the price was for the surgery and any vaccines that she may have needed prior to the surgery. Also getting proper reassurance that there will be no issues with her surgery. She had her surgery done on a Thursday by that following Friday. She was slowly dying. this organization bought her in, tried to nurse her back to health, but she passed away !somewhere there couldn’t of been proper sterilization because this company also takes care of feral cats, but this is where the plot thickens and adding insult to injury. They have the audacity to say my daughter‘s cat was sick when the receptionist called, she made a mistake and was supposed to tell my daughter that it was her cat that ended up with that horrible contagious disease that was a slap in the face! They even offered to cremate my daughter‘s kitty and give my daughter the ashes now please tell me who in the hell if you’re not liable for something who gives free care this is a business and a small organization at that based off of helping animals, which is a good thing if it’s done properly and this organization is also built off of donations so who would bring a cat and TRY to nurse her cat back to health and after the effort failedoffer to cremate the cat all free of charge if you did not feel that you’ve done something wrong !!that’s the part that pisses me off the most. Somehow my daughter‘s cat came across this horrible disease that took her little less than three year old life and then the company blames my child and my daughter‘s cat was an indoor cat is insane !!just admit somebody somewhere screwed up and in the process of them screwing up my daughter‘s cat she passed away and she suffered so bad and I am so pissed even driving past this place makes me sick to my stomach. This has caused a wedge between myself and my daughter because she went against her better judgment she says because of what happened last time with her trying to get surgery and she felt like she rather for her to have been in heat than to pass away. For that disgusting jester, I hope whoever sent my daughter that email sleeps very well at night and I hope God takes care of you! The picture posted is her in the care of SOS after she contracted FELINE DISTEMPER! She suffered so much over a simple surgery that could’ve went well but turned out disastrous!

Experiencia positiva: I'm grateful that a place like this exists where you can take care of your animals and not break the bank. My one complaint is that the doctor charged me $40 to shave her butt and I thought that was a little excessive I couldn't believe it once I got home and read over the bill. Full disclosure my dog was severely matted, but still she only shaved a very small area which is below her tail and half way down her leg. I guess I should have asked up front before she got started.

Hi Yvette, we understand the confusion about the charge, however this would be due to the fact that we are not groomers and will only shave in such instances where it becomes a medical necessity. That is our standard charge for a medical shave due to multiple factors, most of which being staffing and having to stop our normal flow to ensure the medical grooming is done safely and without incident. As one of the pets was severely matted, we requested to perform the medical shave, which you not only approved, but specifically requested us to do the other pet as well. We apologize if the price is a bit more expensive for what the perceived value is, but our main goal in shaves is to released matted hair from the skin, and not necessarily the look and style of the cut, and hope your pets feel amazing relief from the release of their hair!

They treated his upper respiratory infection, gave him all his necessary shots, and checked him for infectious diseases. I love that they were able to tell me how much it would cost in advance. Experiencia fantástica: Had two of our dogs spayed/neutered yesterday. The staff was amazing. Very thorough with instructions and good with our dogs. The dogs are usually iffy with strangers, but they happily went with them. Getting checked in was a little lengthy, but that is to be expected. Our dogs were ready to come home early, so the pick-up process was quick and easy. Our dogs are recovering amazingly. Highly recommend this office and their staff!

Experiencia fantástica: I rescued an abandoned dog a few weeks ago, and she needed a well check and shots. We were told about wellness Wednesdays at SOS. The wait was long but that's because we didn't get there until 1130. They were super friendly and did great with my dog. We both were comfortable and pleased with the love and care she received. They really are such a helpful organization. It was only $70 for the exam, 3 shots and a heartworm test. This would have easily been a $300 visit at my regular vet. I am grateful for SOS and all they do for our community. They are heros in my eyes. Knowing they are there for us when we need them allows me to help dogs in need. Without the lower cost I wouldn't have been able to save Fancy. We both say 10/10 and want to thank you for helping us

Within a few minutes of posting on a local TNR page, Abby J. contacted me and helped me facilitate the process to bring her to SOS to get her spayed. Experiencia negativa: This place is very unprofessional they are so rude the lady name Gwen was very rude to my son. He brought his puppy in due to eating something and couldn't figure out what he have eaten. Found out he had chewed a leash and it was lodged in his stomach and damaged his intestines. They knew it was bad but still recommended surgery and told my son to put 300.00 down now he got there at 1pm and they started surgery around 4pm to 4:30pm. Lady came back out and told him they are now in overtime due to his dog and requested him to pay a additional 200.00 for there time. Now what's sad is they should have told him straight forward that they couldn't save the dog and just told him it's better to just put him down. Instead they took the money and came out and told him his puppy had 80 percent damage to his intestines and it didn't look good. And ask him do he wants them to stop surgery because the dog was very critical. But told him he couldn't afford the dog anyway. My son called me because he needed help to make a decision it was so sad. He loved that puppy. As he made the biggest decision they lady than told him u can't have his remains because you can't afford nothing. Am like first of all this place is a non profit vet clinic and ask for donations to even stay open. I called for my son left a message they called me back and said we have to paid the reminder balance 460.00 to even get his ashes. Why even do surgery when all knew it was very bad. It's sad how vet clinics don't educate young kids. And don't talk to people with some compassion anymore. People is so rude these days and it seem like it's only towards different race. But they will say that's not true. I was referred to this place. For my son to take his puppy. And was the worst experience ever. And for the lady name Gwen God don't like ugly.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently took my new cat to their wellness clinic on Wednesday as she had been drooling slightly. Understandably, there is a lengthy wait since it's first come, first served. After completing paperwork, you can either wait in the lobby or your car. The wait for me was about four hours. But when we were finally called into an exam room, the vet technician and vet were both very nice and they did not rush through the visit. The cost of the exam and medication was very reasonable. Staff was friendly and professional.

Experiencia fantástica: A very affordable place to spay/neuter your pet. Check their website for low cost well care clinic days too. I stopped by to make an appointment for my rescue adoption dog. The staff is fantastic to work with when making your appointment. On the day of my dog’s surgery I dropped her off early in the morning. Have your pet on a leash or in a crate to expedite the check in process. You will fill out paperwork and after a few minutes a staff member will retrieve your pet. They tell you upfront your pet will be there most of the day. They will text you when your pet is ready to be picked up. When my dog was discharged from the clinic a staff member sat down with me and went over medication dosage and post op procedures to help me care for my pet after the surgery. The staff made this a very organized and calm experience. Their attention to providing information and answering questions is one of the best interactions I’ve ever had with a pet clinic!

Experiencia fantástica: IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC, YOUR SEARCH IS OVER!!!! Took my stray queen there yesterday. When I tell you this was not only the cleanest animal hospital I’ve ever been in, but one of the cleanest and most inviting medical professional buildings I’ve ever been in! Everyone was so helpful from the moment I contacted them. Drop-off was a breeze. The staff is truly incredible at what they do. You can tell they care so much. Her spay procedure went SO well, and their prices are better than anyone in the state! I drove an hour and a half to get there, and I do not regret my decision at all. Millie is so happy this morning, purring and rolling everywhere (trying to keep her relaxed is hard! Y’all made her too happy! Lol). If you need an animal taken to be helped and are worried, GO HERE!!

I took my Bella there in 2021, it has taken me a long time to write this positive review because I found the loss of my Bella difficult to write about. I am sure you understand… A piece of your heart is crushed and for me writing about it squeezed it even more. The decision to put a pet down is never an easy one. The veterinarian and staff here were amazing as I said goodbye to my Bella. They helped me to make her last moments peaceful and filled with love. They gave me time to say goodbye through the tears. Experiencia negativa: I have a therapeutic support dog that I brought in for a skin infection. The mass has grown quickly and I was told I could bring her before 3 to be seen. I was told today at 2 that they were too busy with routine appointments to address the urgent issue and so I told them that I was told to bring her and she went back to ask if they could fit my dog in and she returned to tell me that because my dog had been taking the minimum 5mg of Prednisone a day, they would have to run blood work and then do an x-ray for the skin infection so just to be looked at without any resolution would be $250. I told her I'm on limited income (disabled) and could not afford that and I was basically turned away to let my dog suffer and possibly die. I would say it was a pretty uncompassionate response to my problem and suggesting unnecessary procedures before even examining her. Put that along with the fact that they were giving discounted services to someone who was obviously breeding Yorkies, and people who breed Yorkies don't probably need discount services when they're making so much money selling them. I've called all over Columbus and Central Ohio for help and either they're short staffed or I'm passed off to someone else. Really upset and disappointed, and still don't know what to do to help my furbaby. The response from SOS was NOT what they told me when I was there. They said I would HAVE TO pay $250 just to be seen because x-rays and blood work would HAVE TO be done because of 5mg of Prednisone taken daily. And in fact the office had a breeder getting routine service and check for parvo. There's no way they have 4 brand new Yorkies, with 5 other dogs including the parents of the Yorkies at home and not be a breeder... But my situation was and is more urgent and my access was basically denied because I can't afford $250. I never said it was a mass, it's a skin infection, abscess and it needs treatment. Unfortunately, after telling me by phone to bring her, I got a different response after showing up.

I just want to clarify a few things since there seems to be some confusion. We were recommending x-rays due to the sudden growth and location of the mass, not because of the skin infection. We were recommending bloodwork as the dog had been started on prednisone without a prescription. Steroids can cause a lot of problems when given inappropriately so we wanted to ensure that she didn't have any organ damage prior to prescribing anything else. We did not, have not, and never will give discounted services to breeders. Our costs vary on what each animal needs done. Unfortunately, the services your pup likely needs are things that cost us more money, we have to charge accordingly so that we can continue to help all animals. We were not intending on coming across as uncompassionate, we simply wanted you to be aware of what would likely be needed prior to having you wait for several hours as we did not want to waste your time.
