Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Oates is amazing and seems like a really good vet. She cares about your concerns and explains things very well. I'm glad I get to see her if my baby's vet isn't available. Dr. LaBrie is phenomenal. He takes his time answering all concerns. He caught something I missed with my dog. Dr. LaBrie has operated on my baby's eyelid and now it's fine. He followed up several times to ensure my dog was OK. The front staff is amazing. Rachel, Brandon, and Sam are the most caring and knowledgeable and I have learned a lot from them. All the staff are wonderful and compassionate. The vet techs are thorough and compassionate as well.

Experiencia negativa: Took her to another vet couple weeks after going here pleasanton rd . She had a bad tooth gum condition this pleasanton rd vet couldnt treat so they took my money and gave my cat ear drops , took my money , money that would have been more useful to me elsewhere . The more I think about it the more I feel that they only want to see how much money they can get out of each visitor . They did a littlebut didnt do much for phoebe , seemed like the vet didnt care or was not skilled , paid rising bill and 300 dollars later that day , left with ear drops and they gave her a antibiotic shot. Didnt tell me what was wrong or what to expect and consider . Going to have to go somewhere else . She is in bad shape and if I went back I feel all they would do is take my money and send her away with a band aid . Seems like they dont care .If you go make sure you observe how little they do or say and remind them your pets are very important and not just a appt

Experiencia fantástica: My fur baby Archie had an eye infection. I usually take my Archie to Vetco but they had a recall on eye corneal stain. I was advised to see another vet today and to call around or take him to an emergency hospital. I was advised by one of my friends about this place and that they accepted walk ins. Dr. Nick LaBrie was so kind and so understanding. Archie is a very vocal and very drama king and he was so sweet with him. the staff was so nice as well. the wait was not that bad because like i said i was just happy they accepted walk ins plus my baby was in a lot of pain which it maximized his attitude. Thank you Dr. LaBrie for being so thorough and so kind with my baby.

They were not welcoming at all..as soon as I walked in I was told by the male that they would be with me in a minute..him and another employee were on the computer..there was another one helping a customer.. customer left..ok I'm next..I'm the only customer in there..nope she gets on the phone and makes a call reminding someone of an appointment or something of that sort..I'm there in person and was ignored..I had to stand up and ask them do I need to make an appointment to pick up medications..the male said I'm sorry and helped me both the females one with long straight brown hair and the other had short red hair ignored me..Rude and unprofessional.

All front desk staff were understanding, helpful and kind. We all around had a good experience, no pressure, no hidden fees, no judgments. We are thankful the staff took the time to check on our little pup and provide outstanding medical care.

Experiencia negativa: I recently had to make the difficult decision to have my beloved dog euthanized at this clinic. While the staff was generally okay, I was disappointed by a few aspects of the experience. When I went to pick up my dog’s remains, the front desk staff seemed absent-minded and unaware of what was going on, which made the process even more painful. Additionally, my dog was placed in a very small box as you can see the cats remains box is bigger than the dogs not even sure if I received all of her remains and I was also disappointed that I didn’t receive the fur clipping I had requested and paid for. All we got when we called for the fur clippings was that we will receive it in the mail, and they are not sure if they even cut it.. please don't go here I'm still so sad..

When I take my animals to the clinic as walk-ins, I definitely don't mind the wait. It is worth the care for my animals! My experience was wonderful. Love this place!

Experiencia negativa: I took my dog to get vaccinated including heartworm shot, and buy tick and flea tablet. The rep said it would be a two or three hour wait, so I was willing to wait but I couldn't that day. Before that I asked how much for heartworm shot since it changes every year and the rep said around ,$180.00, and I said okay. And he told me the examination around 85.00..i said okay plus the vaccines....flea and tick tablets. I would've paid close to 400dlrs. I was asking questions, and told him I can't make an appointment because I care for my mother, so I asked the rep' do you think I will be out by 2pm'? Then an employee there made a gesture with her hand to him to cut me off and when I was leaving she was telling him something. I was not being rude nor was I upset, and I agreed to the prices but that gesture was so rude. I was not asking a teenage little boy questions . I was asking a well fed grown up man questions he could handle. I didn't want to return the rude attitude, or remind her that it's our business that keeps this place open. I take my dog there every year, I entrust my dog's care to them and pay a good amount for it. I did nothing wrong to warrant a rude cut-off gesture. This business needs to remind their employees to treat their customers with courtesy.

Doctor Oates and the staff got us in quickly and were very compassionate. We ended up putting her down. The staff was wonderful. It is a great clinic and we highly recommend. We will continue to take our other Shar Pei there.

Experiencia positiva: All of the staff and Doctor involved were very kind and patient with my 50lb dog Whitey. All in all made it less stressful for both of us. Whitney needed several X-Rays which ran somewhat expensive $298 for X-rays only. Total bill $438 with senior discount. Wish it wouldn't be so expensive to get medical care for our pets, otherwise some pets will stay untreated and suffer to the end. When you can't afford it that's exactly what will happen. Three stars is for the expense not for the actual service. Rate 5 stars for sevice.

Experiencia negativa: I've been here twice with my cat, they could not figure out anything wrong with him at all. I came a third time because nothing has worked. He's still really sick. They didn't care to check on my cat, or check in on him. The wait is about 3 hours now, and told me to literally go to another vet place if i needed urgent care? But this is literally an emergent and urgent animal vet??? Why advertise any urgent or emergent care then act like this type of care is unexpected and a burden? Unprofessional and very disgusting behaviour.

It includes doctors exam, DHPP, Intestinal parasite exam, oral strongid-T a nail trim and flea and tick treatment. (which is a pill you give them once a month.) You are looking at being there for about 2-3 hours. Doctors are great we saw Dr. Nick LaBrie he was so informative on how to care for my pup. vet techs are so nice and show they truly care for your pet. Front office you are amazing even made my pups next appt before we left. Your doing great office keep up the great work!

Experiencia negativa: I took my 6mo old puppy on Monday. All the doc did is feel her throat. He didn't check her eyes, nose, or ears. From this so called check-up, he determined that she had an infection. Gave her antibiotics. In the morning, my Zoey was dead!!! When I went in to try to get a refund for meds. She had only taken one. All they said is Sorry. No refund.

Experiencia negativa: I am new to the area and have 6 personal animals each with special needs and I foster. I ALWAYS need a vet. Always. I was trying to find a vet yesterday on a Saturday for my dog. She seemed to be having some breathing problems but nothing that warranted an urgent care. I picked this place solely on the fact they could see her today, Sunday. This is most definitely not the closest vet to me but I will drive for a good vet. I had an 11:30 appointment but chose to wait in my car because of the amount of people in the lobby and my dog not feeling her best I didn't want to stress her. I waited 30 minutes and I went in at 12:00 to see how much longer. I was told I was next. So I went back to my truck to wait. At 12:20, 50 minutes past my appointment time I left. They called me just now at 12:30 telling me they went out looking for me and didn't see me. I explained I had left. They said the receptionist had put my number in wrong which is wild since yesterday they put it in too. I will say the front staff is extremely kind and friendly. I have no complaints with them but I do not like when people don't respect other people's time. 20-30 minute wait, fine. An hour is ridiculous and unfortunate.

Experiencia negativa: Called to get a copy of my dog’s prescription however Amber the receptionist refused to let me have it and did state that since they have their own pharmacy they refuse to give it out. Let me state that I’ve always brought my dog Walter here but now his meds are $25 more? While Amazon has it cheaper for $20 less. I will no longer be taking my dog there and will convince my mom and sister to no longer take their pets there. You lost 5 pets.

And then they tell me that it's $80 when I show up I don't know if they got new management but it sounds like there's just nothing but greedy

Experiencia negativa: I called them around 1PM to ask them about their walks ins. The lady on the phone told me 4:30 PM is their last walk in. I left work early at 3:20 to make it there before 4:30 to take my dog. When I got there at 4:20 they told me they stopped taking walk ins. I told them I was told differently and I left work early and drove 30 min to come. She asked someone in the back and they still said no. Going toward don’t tell clients a time for last walk in cus it can be a major inconvenience when they get there and get told something else.

The vet squeezed us in for emergency surgery and he and the entire staff were incredibly kind and compassionate even under so much pressure from working in a busy hospital. The surgery went great, and my dog recovered with no issues. I’m so grateful for their care and support during such a scary time for our beloved dog.

Experiencia negativa: WASTED MY TIME COMING HERE TODAY! We waited almost 2 hours here just to walk out and not be seen!!! I had a scheduled appointment today at 11:30, but this morning at 8:30 I received an email saying to come in early! There’s no wait on walk ins! So I call and they tell me yes! Come on in! I show up and they tell me the wait shouldn’t be too long! And hour passes! I go ask the front desk what’s going on? You said the wait wasn’t going to be long, “oh we’re just waiting on a room to open you should be next. I saw about 15 people come in and out of the office people who got there after us. Every single person that showed up after me was called up before me. Another 30 minutes pass. I am in the lobby by myself. There is one other person here. My boyfriend talks to the front desk against this point the man tells us that we have to wait 30 minutes bc they just cleaned the room and the chemicals need to sit. About 10 minutes after this. The one person in the room w me gets called up. That’s when I called it quits. I have never had such a bad experience. They said they had sick dogs. Well my dog is sick too! That’s why we are there!

The exam went smoothly and we were able to discuss a treatment plan that put my dog on the right path to feeling better.

They cut the hair around my pets genetal area but left her covered in poop when I specifically asked them to clean the area since I dont want to hurt her and I dont want infection. Then the manager calls with a completely dismissive attitude and insinuated I was lying. After coming from a different veterinary office specifically for this kind of stuff I'm disgusted with the manager Samantha and her ugly attitude. She told me not to go back and there's no one to complain to about them so if your reading this stay away its not worth it.

Experiencia negativa: I have mixed reviews of this place. I went today with my very sick puppy. The pros of this place is they're open on Sundays and i was seen timely. We found out my puppy had parvo and decided to euthanize. Upon finding out my puppy had parvo i heard a tech in the back telling another tech "omg your going to touch the pup" the other tech responded "yes i have to because we're going to bring it back here" the female tech then said "omg but the dog has cooties" i was the only customer left so i knew it was about my puppy, so that was a terrible feeling and they knew at that point i decided to euthanize so i thought it was very rude and unprofessional. When it came time to euthanize i was asked if id like to stay in the room and i said yes. They said in order to stay in the room it would be an additional charge which i think is so weird. The red head dr an older lady tech on the other hand were very sympathetic and considerate + the fact they are open on Sundays is the only reason for 2 stars.

They explained everything before moving forward and made sure that the price was too my liking. If not they had another alternative. I really thought was going to put my Markey down but they reassured me that he was fine. He's 15 years old, so you can understand why I was so worried.

They even have my dog I used to have in 2012 still on file I dont have the heart to admit to them i dont have that dog anymore...keeping the dog on their files makes me feel closer to her, even if I don't know what happened to them or if theyre even alive anymore

Experiencia negativa: I’m disappointed and frustrated with today’s visit. I made a 2pm appointment for my anxious girl. After 35 minutes of waiting, I went ahead and left. That’s a long time to wait without anyone saying hey we’re running behind or is your pet ok. The whole reason of making an appointment was to avoid my dogs anxiety and no one seemed to care. I can understand 15 but 35 minutes and still waiting made me decide this is not the place where I want my pet to receive care.

They were able to get me in very quickly and planned follow up the next day if treatment didn't work overnight. Fortunately, my kitty was feeling better and acting her normal self by the evening. Experiencia negativa: Long story short, this hospital business hour say they are open until 4pm. Well my husband and I took in a stray that was very sick. We arrived at the hospital BEFORE 3pm. And they tell us the vet can’t see her bc the veterinarian is leaving soon. BEFORE 4pm!! Very unprofessional and INCONSIDERATE. Do not give these people your money. Clearly they are not passionate about their job. Bc if they actually care they would not have turned a very sick dog away.

Experiencia positiva: This was our first visit to this location after getting this recommendation from our vet. The online scheduling is such a helpful tool. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and nice. Unfortunately on this visit they were very short staffed so wait time was approx 2 hrs with a sick cat. Only 1 vet on call. We didn't even get to see the vet that afternoon. Since I had a cat that was sick, and staff realized they couldn't handle her they suggested I come back the following morning so they could sedate her. Came back the following morning to again great staff at the front. This time they were fully staffed and we saw the vet in less than 15 mins. He seemed very attentive as well our as vet tech. Staff called throughout the day after examinations and lab work. I came back that evening to pick up my cat and she seems to be doing much better. If you have to take your pet to this location I would highly suggest morning appointments.

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience with euthanasia! Our pup was brought in because she was suffering from multiple cancer tumors and the last thing we wanted for her was to suffer any longer, well moments after they put the IV she started having a type of reaction to whatever medicine they gave her before the euthanasia, she was shaking her head and sticking her tongue out like if she was having a seizure! I informed the staff and all they said is that it was normal! And then the veterinarian came in to put euthanasia. No it's not normal to watch your dog have a seizure before it's put to sleep! The whole reason why she was put to sleep was so she didn't suffer anymore!

Experiencia negativa: I waited for nearly three hours so they can attend my cat Moon and people who came way after me were attended first. I understand they were probably different circumstances but it was upsetting because I've been going to this place for nearly 4 years for my dog Archie. They weren't communicative and both people who were at the front desk kept making fun of some lady who was crying and going through emotional distraught because of her dog being injured. Please do better and have more compassion. Also, aim to have better service please because I really liked this place before this happened.

The front desk staff was very kind and compassionate, which we truly appreciated during such a heartbreaking time. Unfortunately, our experience with the veterinarian was not as comforting. I don’t recall his name, but from the moment he entered the room, he came across as rushed and detached—as if he was simply ready to go home for the day. Yes, it was a Sunday around 5:00 PM, but that’s no excuse for a lack of empathy in such a sensitive moment. When they brought the dog back with the IV in place, the doctor moved forward immediately with the procedure—without giving us a moment to say our final goodbyes. It felt cold and impersonal, like just another task to check off, rather than a deeply emotional moment for us. This dog was more than just a pet—he was family. The way things were handled left us with a great deal of sadness and disappointment. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience their pet’s final moments in such a rushed and unfeeling way.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the unfortunate responsibility of having to decide to euthanize my 16 year old chi-winnie when his quality of life was no longer viable. With limited transportation and funds, this clinic was able to accommodate me the same day I called and the staff was very compassionate and expedited the process. They returned my beloved furbaby to me after they gave my husband and I some time alone in their clinic room. I buried my pet in my backyard for his final resting place as cremation was not an option for us. Thank you Alamo Cat and Dog Hospital Staff. I appreciate your professionalism and compassion.

Experiencia negativa: I went there to get a flea preventive they charged me for the test first and then they told me they didn't have it in stock for her weight,and then told me to order it from their online store. I told them to use my card and order it . They refused , and so did I . Save your pets and go elsewhere. This place just ain't the same they should close down.

The vet is a very very gentle with the animals the only thing for me was the price than on the Southside were i live at so I couldn't afford it but if I can't get an appointment at my dogs very I would definitely go back there.

Experiencia negativa: Vet came in and spoke to me for less than 5 minutes and they expected to charge me $72 for that no physical exam was done other than pointing out the obvious that my dog has allergies. Talk about thieves. Even a therapist charges you for an hour of conversation this guy didn't even give us three minutes.

Experiencia negativa: Wait times for walk in is brutal.you don’t have a choice because they only take appointments for boarding and surgery.The wait is not worth the semi low costs. Checked in at 730am, wellness check and rabies, it’s 11am now still haven’t been seen

Experiencia fantástica: Visited this animal hospital today since I had previously been here for my mother's cat. They have a special going on for first visit puppy packs $95 gets you an exam first shots and also fecal test. The vet explained everything regarding our new puppy and gave us a months dose of flea and tick meds. Staff was super friendly. We didn't have an appt we walked in at 8:30 am and were seen within an hour. Place smelled and looked clean

Experiencia negativa: Stay clear of this place. They charged me $72 for a check up and they will spend less than a minute with your pet. My cat has ear cancer, ring worm and a respiratory infection. The doctor didn’t even touch him or check his breathing. He just pointed out the ear cancer which was obvious. I waited another 20 minutes for an antibiotic injection which never came so I left. Terrible service.

Experiencia fantástica: This was our first visit. We took our young Schnauzer there for xrays after she had been vomiting her food up for about two days after chewing up some plastic and ink pens. They explained everything and told us about the cost of the xray and the plan if care. The Vets there were very professional and polite. In general everyone and their pets in the waiting room were happy to be at this Vet clinic.
